Today I did Group Ride and 52 min of cardio. I am sticking to my eating plan, too. Weight this morning was 133.8!!! Do you think it's ok for 43 year olds to wear bikinis? :D

Yeah I found it. I hope Kelly and Susie find it too. This whole crash has kind of sucked. Wardhog- thanks for starting the new thread, again! Also :congrat: on the weight. I say absolutely to the bikini. If you've got it, flaunt it.

I did my 1st official, sign up, event, 5K. I wanted to be under 45 min. My time was 46.1. Man if I would have done one more jogging segment I could have made it. :coach: Oh well. That was still pretty good. Then I walked around for another 3.5 hours at the town's festival. My first day of summer vacation and I haven't stopped going all day.

Chat later. I would love to hit 215 by my birthday in a week. That is my goal.

Today I did a 9 mi jog on the treadmill (1:42). Eating is on plan.

I have finally reached another goal!!!!! I hit 199 this morning!:carrot: I am so excited I can't see straight!

Last night I was talking to my step dad and I told him I wanted to lose another 50 pounds possibly by Christmas. He told me he'd give me $100 if I did it. I know I am doing this for myself, but if someone wants to give me an incentive, I'll take it!

You did it. I settled at 216.4 today, even though I did see 215.6 for a minute. I want 215 by Friday. So happy for you.

Wardhog- Way to go. I look forward to the day when I can jog at least a mile straight. You go girl.

Today I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. Eating is on plan. I did wear a 2-piece swimsuit yesterday. It's really quite conservative, a halter top and skirted bottom. My fish-belly white belly was showing, though. LOL Of course, I was constantly looking around the pool at the other women - "Am I fatter than she is?" Am I the only one who does that?

Hello! :wave: I'm found you all. I tried to post on Friday but the site was down and my weekend was crazy busy!

I just got done doing 30 min on the bike in the gym at work. I went 6.3 miles. I have 45 min for lunch so 30 is about all I can do. BUT I will also work out tonight, I'll walk or do the treadmill and then weights.

I had a birthday over the weekend. I made a decision that is is the last birthday I'm having where I say, next year I'll be at goal.

I have good news, I lost 1.25 lbs last week at my TOPS weigh-in. I felt that was pretty good--since we traveled the weekend before. It just goes to show that with a little planning I can do it.

Kelly: You are in ONEderland! I am making plans to change residency to that land by June 2009. Congratulations on your success. So, now you have a new challenge. 50 more can do it!

Mindy: You did great on your 1st 5K. Look how far you have come since last Jan.

Ward: I bet you look great in that suit! and yes, who doesn't do that at the pool. I'm just proud of you for putting on a suit and going to the pool.

Ok, back to work for me. It's so good to be back online with you all. I missed everyone.

Hey Susie-- Glad you found us and you're back. And also :bday2you: My birthday is Sat. We are so close. and then there is the :congrat: on the loss. We are all awesome.

Wardhog- Good for you putting on that two piece and flaunting your efforts. I can keep up with you on the whiteness, trust me. Don't you dare worry about those other women, just bask in your own beauty.

Kelly- again, great job. You have made it to a place I dream about. Hopefully I'm not too far behind you.

Today I am out in my yard battling the weeds. I have made good progress. Just taking a little break for my back. Got to keep the motivation high. You guys are all inspiring. Thanks.

Just finished my workout. I did level 1&2 of BL DVD. Yea Kelly, again. We did that 3 nights in a row last week. UCK!!

We have had nothing but storms here. There has been quite a bit of damage in surrounding areas. Thank God, we're okay here. Went and spent my BL winnings (plus some) today. Got 2 pair of capris and 2 shirts, plus a little white jacket thing. I have to be done for a while. I'm thinking until I lose 15 or 20 more pounds.

Hi Ladies,

I had the most frustrating day at work yesterday. My outlook crashed and it took all day to fix it! It's up and running today and they are working on recovering my archieve files.

So, I didn't have a computer to post yesterday but I'm hear today. I am happy to report that even with the frustration I did not overeat to soothe myself and I went and did my workout. It really helped me to relax and believe me I was tense all day yesterday!

My workout yesterday was my Firm class, walked for 30 min and then also went to the weight room to work inner and outer thighs since we didn't hit those areas in the Firm class.

I've got my workout clothes with me for a lunch time cardio workout today and I'm meeting my workout partner after work for a walk and some upper body to do chest and back and then hamstrings as well.

Mindy: I bet you love those new clothes! and Happy Birthday. Your's is in the 14 right? Flag day.

Ward: Going to the pool today? It's good to see that you are on plan. I was hoping you would find it easy to stay on plan even with the change in your routine with the kids out of school.

Kelly: I'd love to hear from you!

Susie, good job dealing with the stress! Exercise is a great mood regulator - so much better than food!

Mindy, new clothes are so much fun! I am glad you have avoided the storms. I wish we could get a little of that rain here - my grass is all but dead.

Today I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. This is my 30th straight day on my eating plan and I feel good and strong. :) I may not make it to the pool today, but I went yesterday and wore the two piece again. I also bought a new sexy black bikini that I have not worn yet. I think I might save it for the beach.

Just got back from my walk/jog. I only did 2 miles because I had to get home to use the restroom. I hate it when that happens. I probably jogged about half, so I'm happy. Having a hard time losing anything this week. I will totally blame TOM's arrival this weekend. I so wanted to be 215 by Sat., but I don't think it will happen. Maybe after TOM rolls through.

Ward- Good for you staying on plan. I also post on another thread and so many people there are off plan alot. Nobody there is making too much progress right now. I don't understand why it is so difficult to stick to a plan. I am like you, I stick to it. Sometimes it works and other time it doesn't. Good for you. It is something to be proud of.

Susie- I really hate computers. Great to see you hitting the gym. It is nice to have someone to workout with. I already miss Kelly and it hasn't been a week yet.

Kelly- Hey you! Come on and post.

Hi Ladies,

Tonight is my weigh-in and I'm expecting good things at those scales. I know I've certainly worked hard this week. It makes me feel really good about myself to be in control and know that I've worked at it and achieved that part of the goal.

Yesterday I was on plan with my food and exercise. I love this time of the year because there is so much fresh fruit and veggies. With my IC I have to be careful not to have to much citris or acid but this time of year there are so many more fruit choices for me. When I'm eating these fresh fruits and veggies I imagine them bursting with vitiams and health and that is what I'm putting in my body so that I get a "healthy glow". Just a little mind thing I do.

My exericse was 30 min on the bike at work. I did the "fat burn" program and I really had a good workout with that. Then last night we walked for 30 min and then I worked chest, back, and hamstrings in the weight room.

Today I won't get a workout at lunch. One of the local hotels is having an open house and luchenon for my companies Admins. I don't know what we will have for lunch but I WILL make the best and healthiest choice I can.

Ward: Oh wow..a sexy black bikini---you go girl!

Mindy: TOM is hard, you know that whatever gain or non-loss as a result of it is only temporary so don't stress about it..just keep doing what you are doing.

Hi y'all! Today was the craziest day yet - I feel like I have been in the car the whole summer vacation so far. The kids are having fun, though. I still went to the gym first thing - did Group Ride and a 45 min jog. Eating is on plan.

Susie, good luck with the weigh-in. You should get a good number - you've worked for it.

Mindy, I completely agree with Susie - whatever happens this week is just temporary. Just keep up the good work. I see that ticker changing! I am lucky that I don't have TOM - I have a Mirena IUD and no cycle! yay!

Tom. is weigh-in for me and I know I won't reach 215. I am hoping for 216 something though. I seem to do this thing where I gain 2 pounds then lose lose 3 or 4. Wierd. I wish i could just lose steadily instead of this up down crap. Oh well.

Susie- I hope your weigh-in went well. I want to hear about it tom.

Wardhog- Didn't hear from you today. that is unusual. I'm sure you were on plan though, as always.

Kelly- See ya tom. for lunch. How's it going for you. I haven't heard.

I was so mad I could have cried! Those darn scales said I GRAINED .25 lb! :mad:

I have no idea why they were up. But the good news is that I didn't let it throw me off track..nope, I worked out again today and next week I am expecting for a great loss.

Mindy: I hear you on wanting to lose steady. Hang in there.

So somehow I didn't realize that we had moved on to page 2 yesterday. I kept waiting for more posts and they didn't arrive. I guess if I had posted I would have realized.

I have been avoiding you ladies, I must admit. This week I haven't been eating the greatest and I only worked out on Monday. I was down to 198 earlier in the week, and slowly crept up to 200 again. I don't know what's wrong with me. I know I am home now, and the food just calls my name. I'm really having a hard time stopping myself. I am also not as busy and moving around as I would like to be. But, tonight I am getting back on track. I bought 3 new DVD's to work out to. As much as I can't stand Leslie Sansone, I bought her 2 mile walking DVD, The Biggest Loser's Power Sculpt DVD, and Billy Blanks' Tae Bo 30 minute workout. Hopefully I will like them all and I can get back in the groove. In case anyone was wondering, Barnes and Noble has DVD's on sale Buy 2 get one free! (Hence, my three dvd's!) I have actually been looking forward to the baby going to bed tonight so I could try them out!!!!! I'll keep ya updated!

Susie--Are you eating enough? It seems like you are doing great working out, I keep expecting to see big losses? Keep up the good work!!

Mindy--We know your body, TOM is ravaging you right now, holding on to whatever it can. Just wait. You probably won't even see 215--you'll just pass it by on your way down to 210!

Wardhog--What kinds of stuff are you doing this summer to keep your kids busy?

Susie- Sorry you didn't get a big loss. It is so frustrating when you work hard, eat right and don't lose. I know!! Just stick with it and things will have to start happening.

Kelly- Lunch was good today. We went to TGIFriday's. YUMM! Hey the videos sound exciting. Have fun with them. I know you hate Leslie, but I just did her 3 mile walk. It is pretty boring these days. Sorry about the little gain. You will take it off. It is hard, being home all the time, no routine, and access to food. We can do it though.

Simply holding steady these last couple of days, no matter what. I hope you are right Kelly and after TOM moves out I can lose some more. It just gets hard and frustrating. Ladies, we have got to get in the groove and make some good progress. Let's go!~:cheer3::cheer2::cheer3::cheer2:

I'm much more on plan today. Eating better, writing everything down again. Went back down to 198.5. Maybe I was retaining some water, too. Did Leslie Sansone 2 mile walk yesterday, I think I'll do some Tae Bo today. Leslie just grates on my ears--her laugh is atrocious.

Mindy, Happy Birthday!

Yesterday I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. We have plans at my parents' for Sunday, so my husband wanted IHOP for breakfast this morning. I avoided the pancakes and ate an egg substitute omelet with mushrooms and spinach with a side of fruit. Still a big breakfast, but more healthy, I think. So, I didn't get to the gym. I did a couple hours of yard work and that will have to do. I don't know that I will make it tomorrow, either. Also it will be a foodfest, so tomorrow is a write-off anyway.

Good morning. I missed you all yesterday. As you know it was my birthday and we had a family open house. All I got done yesterday was a little yard work. Sounds like Wardhog. Went shopping with my mom, sister and neice to pick out my present from mom. Got a new nightie and a workout shirt. Bought myself some tank tops. I have never had any before.

I met my daughter halfway between her and I and we went to lunch. That was nice to see her. It has been several weeks now. Than of course the open house. I ate a lot of fruit and veggies, plus some cheese and meatballs. I treated myself to one bite of carrot cake. We'll call that my birthday cake.
Scale is stuck around 217-218. Tom will be visiting for the next few days. Let's get this over with and lose some dang weight.

Wardhog- As a calorie counter you know how tricky it is to eat out. Sounds like you did well. For lunch I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Not too bad. Have fun on Father's Day. It will be pretty much a no event around here.

Kelly- Yeah!! You are doing awesome. Glad to hear it. Just turn off Leslie's voice and let me know how the Tae Bo is.

Hi Ladies,

Thank you all for the encourgement with the scales. I have delt with this problem for almost 10 years. My body just loves to hold on to the weight. Once I loose 25 lbs then my real metabolism kicks in and I loose like one should with all the effort I am putting in but those first 25 lbs are always the hardest for me. It seems it's just the opposite for everyone else.

I can say that I'm feeling fantastic due to all the exercise and the healthy eating and I don't feel puffy, so right now I'm just going to concentrate on those good feelings and keep working at it.

Kelly: Good for you for getting back in there. I do believe that when we get into a new set of numbers on the scales our bodies try to go back to the old ones for a couple of weeks then it stabilizes and we loose once again. Enjoy your new videos.

Mindy: TOM is a hard time. You know your body will respond once it's over.
I had a hyst when I was 38 and boy did things change in my body. It's like fighting TOM EVERY week! I hope you had a very happy birthday.

Ward: It sounds like a busy weekend for you. I know that Monday you will be back on routine so don't fret about not being on plan this weekend. Just get back into it.

It seems like routine is a very important part of this journey for us don't you agree? What is the one routine that you have to be sure that you stick to? I believe mine is journaling my food and exercising. So I guess I have two.

Have a great day ladies. I'm just going to putter around the house today. I feel like organizing a bit. It always helps me to feel steady and calm when I have things in there place.

What happened today. Nobody posted. Well TOM hit hard today. I didn't think I would be able to get off the couch today. I'm too old to deal with these cramps and crap. UUGGHH!! Well I started feeling better this evening so i could actually workout. I did WATP 45 min.walk. Right before bedtime. HHMM!! Will I be redy to go to sleep anytime soon?

Ack - Sorry I haven't been around. Sunday I did a five mile jog (48 min), then 25 min on the recumbent bike. I ate very poorly, though.

Yesterday I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. I am back to my eating plan, but up a few pounds from the week-end.

I am glad you're feeling better, Mindy.

Today I did the elliptical for a few minutes (they came to get me from child care, my son bumped his head and wouldn't stop crying until I came in), then I did Group Ride and then 30 min on the stair mill. Eating is on plan so far, but it's really a struggle the last few days. I feel really stressed for some reason, but I haven't figured out why yet. I guess it will pass ...

Ok Wardhog--something must be in the air, because I feel like I can't stop eating too. I've just been making bad choices about what to eat, not necessarily eating everything in sight. I don't feel overstuffed or anything.

Workouts have been good. I worked out Friday, Sunday, and Monday. I plan on working out again tonight. I liked the Leslie Sansone walking DVD (minus her voice), loved, loved, loved the Power Sculpt, and disliked the Tae Bo. I think it was too fast for me. It made me feel foolish and inept. Maybe it will get better.

Well ladies, since TOM is rolling through, the scale is being kind. I went from 217.2 yesterday to 215.4 today. Can't complain about that. We'll see what happens tom.

I have just been working in the yard today. It takes a while to mow about 1.5 acres. There is so much to do out there I don't think I'll ever get everything done. Since I am keeping busy I am staying away from food pretty well. Sorry girls!!

I still need to work out today. I think I will do Jillian's shred (20 min.) and walk with Leslie for 15. Enjoy those videos Kelly.

Hi Ladies,

I've been crazy busy at work this week and today is no exception but I decided I am taking a few minutes for me. I need my Board pals.

I'm doing good with my food and exercise. I'm exercising for 40 min of cardio at the work gym every day and then doing my 30 min cardio with my workout partner at night and also the weights. Those dang scales better show a loss this week!

I'm going out to lunch today with some friends and I'm determined to stay on track with the food. I'm going to look at the menu online before we go so I can predetermine what I want so I don't look at the menu again and make a bad choice. I know me and I've got to plan these sorts of things.

Ward: My workout partner gets interrupted sometimes during her workout for kid issues too. At one time they would come to get her to change a diaper! She finally had to talk to them about that. It was young girls and they just didn't want to do it. Then a couple of times she would showup and they would tell her that one of her kids hit there head on a table or fell off the slide, but they didn't come and get her when it happend. Things are better for her now. It just took some meetings to get things straightend out. I hope that your son is doing ok. I hope that that stress feeling has left you and Kelly. I've had that sometimes and it's hard to deal with when you don't know what it is.

Kelly: Keep working on those DVD's. I bet the more you do them the better you will become at them. When I first started taking Zumba I felt so awkard but I love it now

Mindy: Glad to see that the scales are going down for you. You know have 3 weeks to work really hard and see results. You know that every 4th week your body plays tricks on you with TOM so look forward to all you can accomplish the next 3. to get to work. It's good to chat with you all. I'll see you tomorrow.

Hi guys. Everyone's workouts look really good! We should be proud of ourselves - it's June and we are still here, working our butts off.

We have a birthday party this morning, so no gym. I did Firm Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. It's my favorite at home workout and I seem to choose it every time I can't get to the gym. I have some others I need to try again, some Cathe Friedrich ones that are butt kickers. Eating should be on plan today. I don't really feel tempted by party food today.

Wow I am posting late today. My grandmas house had a 60 ft pine tree fall on it recently. My mom asked me to help her move branches to the curb for the city to pick up. Well, 5 hours later, we were still moving branches, raking and stuff. So no other workout for me today. That seems like plenty. I hav ealso hurt my knee and last night's WO was difficult. I hope it starts to feel better so as not to hamper my progress.

Susie- I actually have this week to get off some pounds,and then mid-cycle my body gets screwy again. Maybe something to do with ovualtion, I don't know. Then after that week I get another good week before pre-TOM. Isn't it crazy that I have learned my body so well now that I know all this. Before I had no clue. Heck I couldn't even tell you when TOM was coming. Just another example of how much we are changing our bodies and our lifestyles. And yes, we are still here, sticking to the program and doing a damn good job if you ask me. Keep it up everyone.

I didn't make it to the gym today at lunch. I had back to back meeting until noon and by then I was just to far behind. Things will slow down after next week (at least I hope so).

Tonight is my weigh-in...I have my fingers crossed.

We are all doing really well with staying on track. I couldn't do it without you all here everyday.

I did Group Ride + a 5 mi jog this morning. Eating is on plan. I took the kids to my Mom & Dad's for a sleep-over, so it's quiet here. I haven't accomplished much, but I'm not that worried about it.

Well wardhog, I'm sure you can appreciate this. Tonight I did a 3 mile walk/jog. I jogged 2 miles and walked 1. I have worked up to about 1/4 mile at a time, then walk .1, then jog gain. I am actually doing more jogging than walking and I am jogging longer stretches. YEAH!!:running: I can't believe you did a 5 mile run. Yikes!! Great for you.

Susie- I'm sending my weight loss vibes your direction. Good luck on the weigh-in. You must lose something this week, you have been working really hard. Keep it up. Can't wait to hear good news.

Mindy, that's great! I know that running really helps me get the weight off. I hope it works well for you!

The kids were at my Mom & Dad's, so I had extra time at the gym. I did 25 min on the elliptical, then Group Power, then Group Centergy. My arms and legs were shaking when I got home. :) Eating is on plan, but I am hungry and trying to resist. Does it ever get any easier?

GOOD NEWS! I had a 4 bl loss at the scales last night. I can't tell you how happy that made me :carrot:

It also just makes me want to do it again! :)

You ladies have been such an inspiration to me. When I'm tired because I've already worked out once, I think about you and how far everyone has come since January and I've seen how hard you have worked so I then can talk myself into doing that next workout.

I'm keeping a food diary and that is helping as well.

Today I did 30 min of cardio at lunch time. I will only get in one workout today. That's my plan for Friday's. I did the bike for 10 min and then I did this machine that was like skiing and I loved it..worked up a good sweat! Made me feel great about myself.

Ward: Your workouts sound so hard. You go girl! No wonder you can wear a bikini. :)

Mindy: Look at you...running!

Kelly: How are you doing.

I'm still crazy busy at work. Hopefully it will die down by the end of next week. I have about 6 projects going right now. I'm about to complete 2 of them today or Monday.

I better get back to it. I'll be around off and on all weekend.

Susie- :congrat::cheer: I am so happy for you. It is working. You keep it up. Isn't it exciting when you get to say you lost weight like that. I'm glad we help. We have become quite a tight little group and really lean on each other. It is so nice. You keep it going.

Ward- Good job on the workouts. You keep it up too. You know when I was like 20-22 I lost 15 pounds by jogging. I started out slow and worked up to 2 miles a day. I didn't even change my eating. I believe you when you say it works. I did it again today. Jogged 2.2 and walked .8. I am going longer with the joggin segments.

So today the scale told me 214.4. Can you believe it. That's 3.6 from last week. :cheer2::cheer3: Susie, good weeks for both of us. Mine will probably go up a little tom. but then down on Sunday. That seems to be how it's working. It's okay with me.

Keep it up girls. I am so proud of all of us. Kelly- even though you haven't posted, I know you are working out. Keep it up.

Today I did Group Ride, 26 min on the stair mill and 26 min on the elliptical. Eating is on plan. By the way, I put a bikini photo in my profile picture. I am still too chicken to wear it in public. :o

Wardhog- Yep you deserve to wear the bikini. You wear that suit with pride. If I looked like that I would wear it. It is a badge of honor. Keep up the great work. I know you still want to lose more, but if you never lost another ounce, you look great.

I have really messed up my knee. I can walk and jog, but things like lunges and bending are out. I was tired of joggin so did BL DVD tonight, but really had to take it easy. Man this sucks. Well my scale was down to 213.6 today. Need I say how excitied I am. 210, here I come. Just try and stop me.

Hi Ladies,

It was a very busy weekend for me. I had to be at a lot of places. I was a little worreid that with all the running around I wouldn't eat well, but I just made a choice to do so and to not let a long time go in between all the places I had to be and things I had to do and I stayed on track.

I'm ready to get back to my workouts. My next goal is going to be getting those workouts in on Sat and Sunday. It might be a couple of weeks before I committ to that. Right now I'm excited that I"m working out on Friday's. I never did that before. I would workout Mon-Thursday but that would be that. So adding Friday is a big deal for me.

I have a few more things to do around the house before I go to bed a 10 so I won't do personals tonight.

Okay, I know what happened. I got on early in the morning and nobody had posted on any of my threads so I thought I'd come back later. Well that never happened. So I missed you yesterday. I went for a jog/walk (notice how I put jog 1st now. Since I'm jogging more than walking) at about 8:00 pm. I thought the mosquitos were going to carry me off. Even this morning in my own yard they are fierce. I am going to get some heavy duty bug spray today.

My scale has gone up a bit and settled in the 214's. I figured it would. That was a good solid 3 pound loss last week. I'll try and sneak down to 210 over the next few weeks.

Susie- M-F is great. Keep it up. Then on the weekends maybe you could just go for a nice long walk in your neighborhood. Fun and relaxing, plus good for you. Unlike mowing the yard, which I did for a good hour yesterday. And that was on the tractor.

Ward- 6 mile in an hour. That is quite fast. I can jog/walk 3 miles in about 43 min. I am going to clock it today, but I ran about .7 in one stretch yesterday. Yeah for me. That was while I running to get away from those mosquitos. I didn't want to stop running to walk but had to sometimes.

I'll check in later and see what's up with everyone.

I hope everyone had a good day. I was very busy at might say extremely busy. I have no idea who opened the flood gates at work but I'm just with my head above water. I'm trying to get caught up and ahead. I get a lot of project work because I'm know to be someone who plans and follows through. I enjoy what I do though.

I worked out at lunch today and I'm really glad to have the membership there because I worked until 6:00 p.m. tonight and I just couldn't make myself go to my home gym. I was just to tired. Also, my hubby has gone to working 4 ten hour days and I told him that I would help out by getting dinner started in the evenings. He usually does it because he's home around 4 and I get home around 5:30. But now he won't get home until 6:30 so I will start dinner and then go to the Y around 6:30. So, with getting off at 6 tonight I didn't get home until 6:45 and I opted to keep up my end of the dinner chore.

I don't plan on working that late any other night this week.

Mindy: I admire you for working out under all sorts of conditions.

Ward: How did you day go today?

Mindy, I am so glad you are enjoying the jogging. Another convert! I didn't start running until I was about 41; I had always hated it!

Susie, I hope things calm down for you at work.

I must have missed posting yesterday. My kids are both in camp, at different places. So, I have to drop my daughter off at 9, then race to get my son to his camp by 9:30. Then I have to pick her up at noon, get her some lunch, and pick him up at 1. My regular gym classes are at 9:30, and then the back-up ones are at noon. So, I am missing all of them this week. Yesterday I dragged out a Cathe Friedrich DVD, time saver workout #1. About half of it was step, which I might as well have skipped because I could not follow it at all. The second half was weight training. Then I did 30 min. of Wii Fit cardio.

Today I am planning time saver workout #2. (There are five workouts on the DVD and I am just going to do them in order this week.) I also need to go to the grocery store, preferably alone. ack! Plus my Dad is having surgery today - he is probably in there right now. This week is making me nuts!

Oh yeah - eating has been on plan. Today is my low calorie day, which kind of sucks. It apparently works, though, so I will stick with it.

I did Cathe's time saver workout #2, then about 35 more minutes of Wii Fit. I unlocked the boxing, which I think I am really going to like. Eating is on plan.

My Dad came through the surgery fine. They removed 1/2 of his thyroid, and the doctor said it appears benign. They will do further testing and should have the pathology report on Monday. He's already up and around and wanting to go home, but he has to spend the night at the hospital. My Mom is there with him. I am really relieved.

Good evening. Just got in from my run/walk. I only did 2 miles tonight because it was getting late and I didn't want to get into too many bugs. I did spray up good though. I am at pretty much 15 min. miles. I signed up for the 4th of July 5K .I saw Wardhog there too. Let's go girl!!

Ward- So many videos out there to choose from. There is no excuse to get bored is there? Glad you are finding a way to get your workout in during your busy week. Hope everything turns out okay for your dad.

I'm not sure work is ever going to slow down. At least the days go fast. Today wasn't as hetic busy as yesterday so that was a welcome change. I don't mind busy I just don't like out-of-control. I really love my job though. The group I support is a great bunch of people and they treat me just like on of them. I work with them on projects and they hand off parts of projects that are mine to steer. It's all very interesting.

Today I did 20 min on the ellipitical, did some weight training, chest and back, and inner and outer thighs and then went for a 30 min walk. My food has been within my point range as well. I'm so happy to finally be eating like a normal person...not stuffing myself, and exercising again. I feel so much better!

Mindy: I'm really proud of you for running. I never see that in the cards for me. I have had a hystercomey and bouncing and my bladder just don't get along! That is why I stick with low-impact exercise. Tell me more about the 5K you and Ward are doing.

Ward: You have a crazy schedule too! Good for you for staying on plan and finding alternate workouts this week. I'm also glad to hear that your dad is doing well and that the diagonis sounds really good.

Kelly: Looking forward to seeing your post!

Just wanted to check in. I'm doing well today with the food and I'm set to meet my workout partner tonight.

I'm wearing a shirt and blouse that I haven't worn in over a year because even though it fit I just looked "un-toned" in it. Well, when I put it on today I thought, hey that doesn't look to bad. So I wore it and I've gotten a lot of complimnets. Sure does make me feel good!

I hope everyone is having a good day and I look forward to your posts..good or bad..that's what this is all about, right? ;)

Today I did Cathe's timesaver workout #3. Now I remember why I never got into these workouts. The step segments are impossible (for me). Step is not really my forte. Then I did some more Wii Fit cardio, about 30 min. It doesn't feel like enough, but it has to do. Here it is 5:30 pm and I just got out of the shower. Tomorrow is another heavily scheduled day. :sigh:

Eating is on plan. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the number on the scale this morning. 130.6. I am sure it will bounce back up, but dang! This consistency thing really works. :)

Wardhog- Yep, I'm going to better my time in the next 5K. You will probably do 10. I know what you mean when you feel your workout just isn't enough. I worked hard tonight, at almost 10: pm. I did BL level 1&2. I am soaked. Yippee for you on the scale.:o First time on mine this morning it said 212.8, but then jusmped to 214.2. Yuck!! Well at least I saw 212 for a minute.

Susie- It is really nice to wear some "new" clothes and get compliments. Good for you. Hope you had fun working out with your partner. You are doing a great job sticking to your food and exercise. :smug: Keep up the good work.

Mindy, you should have just stopped after the first time you weighed. LOL Great job getting that workout in so late. Did you sleep ok after that? I am always too wound up to sleep if I work out too late. I am a terrible sleeper anyway, though.

Today I did Cathe's timesaver workout #4. It was mostly kickboxing and I enjoyed it. Worked up a great sweat, but it was only 42 min. I am really over scheduled for today (again!) so it's just going to have to do. Eating is on plan.

I feel like an absolute heel. :-( I'm sorry I've been gone so long. I hope you all still remember me. I fell out of posting when work got crazy a couple months (or more?) back. Things have settled down for the most part, and I have more time online. But that's no excuse for abandoning you wonderful ladies! You all are doing so well!

Mindy - Congrats on the 5K! I've never done one of those, but maybe one day I'll get up the courage, especially with all the inspiration you've given me that it can be done, and done *well*, for that matter. 46 minutes is such an accomplishment. And a big 'ol congrats on getting under 215, too! I remember when I hit that plateau and found myself yo-yo-ing around 216. I can understand the frustration.

Kelly - Woohoo! You've hit the 100's! That's so amazing, and I'm sooooo happy for you. All that hard work is paying off. I can't wait to see one in front of my weight.

Susie - Your commitment to the gym at work is amazing. That's dedication, and I'm sure you'll be seeing ONEderland this time next year if you keep it up. Don't you just love putting on some old clothes that didn't flatter you and realizing that you look good in it now? That's awesome!

Wardhog - You're so close to your goal! I bet you'll look fantastic in that bikini. Definitely nothing wrong with a 40-something showing off a body that you worked so hard for. I'm glad to hear your dad is doing well. Those health scares are stressful and worrisome.

Again, I'm so sorry I've been MIA. I went through a period when my office imploded where I didn't lose a pound, and I didn't really try either. I got back on the wagon at the end of April and have kicked off those pesky pounds that were hanging on. I hope to see the 190's this coming Sunday or the next. It just depends on what my body wants to do. I'm able to wear a misses 16, now. And I can't buy tops in the plus size department anymore because they're too big. It's so thrilling to be able to choose from all the pretty ones in the misses department and just getting a large. No X in front of the L.

I went shopping for a new pair of jeans on Saturday, and I was so happy with how they fit that I sent my mother a picture of myself. She hasn't seen me since my weight loss. My entire family is overweight (my brothers are 400lb each), and none of them really have a problem with it, which is fine with me. *I* have a problem with *my* weight, which is why I'm doing something about it. Anyway, I sent her my before picture (when I was 254) and my current picture at 201. What was her response? "Your pictures look good. Just don't lose too much weight or you'll look unhealthy." I don't know why, but her comment really annoyed me. I guess it shouldn't have, but it did. It was like she doesn't really want me to lose weight, which I'm sure isn't the case. It was just the way her comment was worded. Like what I was doing is unhealthy, and she was afraid I'd get carried away. I'm still over 200, for goodness sake. I'm by no means getting carried away with this weight loss thing. To be healthy, I need to drop about 50 more pounds. Grrrr... Sorry, I just had to vent somewhere.

Anyway, I'm just so happy to see all of you still here and still going strong. I'm so proud of all of you for all the hard work and determination. And I suck because I haven't been around for so long. You can throw e-shoes at me if you want. :-)

My weigh-in is tonight. I'm hoping it's going to be another good one.

Last night I did 20 min on the bike, 20 min on the elipitical then I did my weight training.

Tonight I plan on taking a 60 min Zumba class.

Sorry about your mom's comment. My sister has been kind of the same way. She has made some comments that weren't very supportive. I think she is jealous that I'm doing doing it and she isn't. I hope you stick around and start posting again. ;)It was funny becuse I thought of you today when I was organizing and taking care of some books. I remembered you had some of the same interests. Well once again, glad you're back. You and I are wearing about the same sizes too. Cool, isn't it?

Wardhog- Yep, that is one of my problems: my obsession with the scale. I don't even know how many times I get on a day. I just can't stop. :s: Of course I am stuck at 214 something and that is frustrating me. I know I just need to be patient. I'm trying.:smug:

I have not disappeared--I have started an online class that is 5 times the pace of a normal college class, and it is really kicking my butt. I am trying really hard to stay on plan with eating. Most days I do OK. Since beginning the class I have thrown exercise out the window. This class is eating up ALL my time I had set aside for working out. So, my new plan is to reduce my calorie intake by 100 calories a day since I am not working out for a few weeks. Hopefully I won't gain weight.

Foucault--So glad to see you back! You are doing awesome!!!

Mindy--You are rockin! You are going to hit the ones super quickly!

Susie--Awesome job last week on the 4 pounds! You have been working so hard--you totally deserve it!

Wardhog--I am so envious of your 130 pounds. I must have weighed that in like 6th grade:)

Kelly, I am sorry your class is taking so much time. I know you will miss your exercise. Good job staying on plan with your eating. I read somewhere that for weight loss, 70% is diet and 30% is exercise.

My son didn't have camp today, so I was able to get back to the gym. yay! The group fitness director asked me if I would like to start teaching spin classes. I am not sure about it - I am really pretty shy and it's also a big time commitment. Still, it's nice to be asked. Anyway, I did Group Power and 30 min elliptical. Eating is on plan. I weighed in at 130.8 this morning, so I am closing in on my goal. :cool:

I have good news--I had a 3.5 lbs when I weighed in last night.:goodscale.
I was so happy! and I'm hard back at it for this upcoming Thursday's weigh-in. I just got back from the gym at the Y--did 20 min on the bike & 20 min on the elepitical machine. That will be my only workout today. I'm feeling good that I did it.

Kelly: I've done online classes and you are right..they move fast! Good idea to cut the calories back a bit since you aren't exercising as much. I know it's hard to get it in but if you can try to get in at least 20 min of cardio 3 times a week just to stay heart healthy.

Mindy: It's hard when those scales won't move. Just think that your body is trying to catch up with the weight you lost. It's absorbing the fat so that you won't have sagging skin. Once it has done enough of that you will start to loose again. That's why it's important to loose slowly so that you don't have loose skin.

Ward: How's the schedule going today?

Focult: Watching for your next post.

I've got to get back to work. I'll be around this weekend but will most likely not post until Sunday; we have a family reunion on Saturday and I'll be busy with it most of the day. I have made up my mind I will NOT overeat at this event. I'll be thinking of you guys and how you will be waiting to hear how I did---that should keep me on track.

It's so great to talk to all you gals again. I feel like you all know what I'm going through more than anyone else since you're in the weight loss fight, too.

Susie - The 3.5 loss is great! Yay!!!! I'm like you - when I get a nice loss, it makes me want to go work out again. :-) Some people say that it makes them want to reward themselves with a tasty snack, but it pumps me up for a little big of jogging.

Mindy - I'm sorry your sister is making not-so-supportive comments to you. It's discouraging, but at the same time, it makes me want to work that much harder to reach goal. You know?

Kelly - Wow, that class must be tough. I don't think I could ever have the tenacity to stick with an online class like that. Here's hoping that you can get through it with a minimum of stress and, at the very least, a stable weight. I'm sure you can do it if you just keep an eye on your food intake.

WardHog - That's so cool that your fitness director asked if you'd like to teach a class! I understand your hesitancy about it because teaching can be nerve-wrecking if you're shy or quiet.

I've been really good about keeping up my daily walks for the last month. It's tough because the weather here is weird in July and August. It's monsoon season, so huge thunderstorms or rainstorms pop up almost every day around 6:00, which is typically when I take my walk. I've been working around the storms and driving my car to the park so I can do laps around the park. It helps because my car is within a short jog of wherever I'm at, so I don't chicken out on walking for fear of getting rained on. I've been lazy about logging my food for the last couple months, but I've been keeping track in my head since I eat the same things almost every day.

Hey, hey. The gangs all here. Today was wierd. I went to lunch with the girls and had a chicken sandwich at Applebee's. Got home and ex-hubbie/roomie wanted to go eat. Went to Red Robin and had a bowl of soup w/bread. That was about the only thing there that wasn't a million calories. I looked online before we went. You know me. No random crazy eating. My only workout today was cleaning my horses stall, but that burned about 55o calories. I feel good about that. I was sweating up a storm.
The downer for the day: scale said 216 this morning. Why???:?:

Kelly- I know you're busy with class, but maybe we can get together at least one day next week and do something physical. Think about it.

Wardhog- 130. :woohoo: Feels good to get back to the gym, I'm sure. You should try teaching the class. You would be great at it, even if you are a little shy. You would certainly be inspirational.

Susie- i just knew it. :cheer3::cheer2: You have been so on track and working out. Good for you. How exciting. Yeppers, keep it up. I know you are pumped now.

Foucault- Good job with the walking. I have almost been caught in storms a few times. I do a 2 or 3 mile circuit that leaves me as much as 1.5 miles from home. I need to keep an eye on the weather. Keep up the good work.

Foucault - I hope you got your walk in without getting soaked. We went to the pool yesterday and got rained on. The kids didn't care and just kept on swimming.

Mindy, maybe the salty soup caused you to retain some water. Try not to worry about those small deviations.

Today I did Group Ride, 26 min on the stair mill and 26 min on the elliptical. It felt really good. Eating is on plan. I am not sure what I'll do about the Ride training. It would get me out of my comfort zone, which is a good thing to do every once in a while. Plus it might be fun.

Wardhog- I know I shouldn't worry about a pound here or there, but lately when I put some on, it is very slow to come back off. I just lose so slowly. It gets very frustrating. I am sitting here now dripping wet from my workout and hoping it did some good. My knee is feeling better so I did BL DVD levels 1&2. Hope you do the class thing.

Susie- I hope you are right about the fat absorbing thing. I hope my body is simply adjusting and getting ready to lose some more. And no baggy skin would be great.

Tom. my family is going to up to see my daughter. It was her BD on the 24th and she couldn't come home. She is working 7 days a week. So we are going to see her. She works at a horse race track, so we will watch races, meet the people and horses she works with and she sings the National Anthem. We will squeeze in lunch somewhere. Should be fun.

I did pretty well at the family reunion yesterday. I did have 2 pieces of fudge and one piece of sugar cream pie but that was it for the "bad" food. I made sure to fill up on the veggie tray instead of the fudge.

Ward: I must have missed the post about them wanting you to teach a class. I think you should at least try it for a week or two or maybe sub before making the committment but you should try it to see if you would like it

Mindy: I bet the soup was salty and that's why you saw the scales jump to 216. I hope you enjoyed the day visting your daughter.

Kelly: I hope the class is going well. Post when you can.

Focult: How often do you go to the park and walk?

I had a great time at the race track. We did some betting on horses, I just about broke even. My sister and neice were having fun. Then we got to go meet the horses she works with. That is always fun. This one is HUGE!!! You can not see over his back at all. We ate dinner and came home. Not sure on calories for today, I kind of guestimated. I had half a chicken grinder. The rest of the day was good though.

It was sort of late when I got home so I just did WATP for 35 min. and some arm work. My scale is stupid, or my body is. I was 216 again today. :(

Susie- Good job paying attention to the food and making sensible choices. It is hard when you go place like that, or out to eat.

Wardhog- Good job on the run. And then the bike too. I would have had no legs for the bike.

Mindy - The halfway point of my 4 mile circuit leaves me 2 miles from home. I really hope I never get caught in a thunderstorm during that one. :-) As for the sloooow loss, I'm really sorry that you're stuck in the rut. I was stuck in that same rut around 215. It was so, so, so frustrating. But you're doing all you can do right now by sticking with your plan and keeping up the exercise. Everyday you are 215 is just one day closer to losing it and dropping down to a lower weight.

WardHog - Wow, that's quite a workout at the gym and at home. I'm still on the fence about the gym. I think once I get down to 170, I might need to hit the gym to get the rest of this off. It seems to be so much harder when you get down to the last few pounds.

Susie - You go with the will power! I don't know if I'd have that much self control around all the sweets at a family reunion. :-) I usually make a circuit around the neighborhood on normal days. So, about two miles after dinner. If it looks rainy/stormy, then I'll drive to the park and walk around it four times, which is the equivalent of two miles. Either way, I get my walking in. On weekend mornings, I get up at 8:00 (no sleeping in for me!) and do a four mile walk to a park that is further away. Google's pedometer is a lifesaver.

So, I got my weekend walks in yesterday and today. I slacked off on lifting weights for a few weeks, and this past week I got back into the swing of it. I'm still lifting the 10-pounders, which is nice. I was afraid I might have to downgrade to something lighter. I also do some toning exercises after lifting the weights - just some crunches, leg lifts, pushups, the usual.

I subscribed to a vegetarian recipe magazine a month ago. It's great because the recipes all have the nutritional facts per serving. I made an edamame rice bowl with olives and feta cheese for dinner this evening (only 500 calories!). Last weekend I had veggie tacos with avocado and black beans (only 270 each!). Does anyone know of any other good magazines with the nutritional facts broken down, so I don't have to guess or add it all up. Math isn't my friend sometimes.

Mindy, sounds like a lot of fun. And you worked out when you got home? You are really motivated!

Foucault, I love my gym. I worked out at home for a couple of years before I joined - I walked, ran, and did DVDs. But now I just love going to classes. It is really motivating to be with a bunch of other people. The music and instructors are really good and they are always mixing things up so it doesn't get boring. And then if I am feeling anti-social on some days, I just hit the cardio deck or weights area. I should do commercials, huh? As far as magazines with recipes, I like Cooking Light, but I am not sure how many vegetarian options there would be.

Today I did Group Power, 30 min on the elliptical and 15 min on the recumbent bike. Eating is on plan.

I am still undecided about going through the training. It's like an all-weekend thing, and after that they kind of ease new instructors in by letting them do a track or two in someone elses's class, and gradually add tracks until they can do the entire class on their own. Once they get comfortable, they have to be certified, which means they film you doing a class and send it in for evaluation. After that, you can start subbing and maybe get your own class if a time slot opens up. The process actually takes a few months, and you have to pay for 1/2 of your training. So, it's a big commitment, and not worth it unless you really want it. My plan is to find out a little more about when the training will be and see if it's even possible with the kids' schedules, and go from there.

Hi Guys,

I have the Monday blues. I just can't seem to get motivated. It's cool and rainy out and I'm tired.

I'm eating my power bar and watermelon for lunch and trying to talk myself into going to the work gym for my lunch time workout. I usually don't eat before I work out but I thought maybe if I did and then went and worked out 30 min after that I would have some energy so that's my plan.

What I really want to do is hit the couch at home with a book and just read and nap!

Mindy: Hang in there. Those scales will move again. If you think about it, you see this pattern about every 2-3 weeks.

Ward: That training does sound like a big commitment. Do what feels right for you. You are right, you don't want to know what sugar cream pie is!

Focult: I eat a lot of veggie dishes to so I'd love to have some of those recipes.

Ok..back to work so I can hit the gym in about 30 min. I know that I'll be happy at those scales on Thursday if I go to the gym today.

Well here I go again. I was back up to 217 this morning. I have almost gained back everything I lost 2 weeks ago. Why??? I have no idea. It is very frustrating though. I'm still eating right and working out everyday. I've said it before. This sure is hard.

Foucault- I am contemplating driving to the nearest park to do my walk/jog today. I have never been there before so I don't know what it really has to offer. It is a county park with a swimming pond and stuff. Maybe I'll go check it out. Seems kind of dumb to drive over there to walk, but I'm kind of bored with what I've been doing. Good job for you, getting your walks in. Good job on the 10 pound weights. I can only manage 5 pounds. I have several low cal cookbooks, but they are not strictly veggie.

Wardhog- The class thing sounds quite complex and a lot of work to get going. Big decision, huh? Yes, I am motivated. Just wish all the motivation showed up as weight loss.

Susie- Yes I do have this type of pattern going on. But I usually don't gain back everything I lost. I might go up a little but really, this is ridiculous. I bought a decorated choc. chip cookie thing to take to my daughter. Well, I forgot it so it sits in my fridge. I am so tempted to just go eat the whole thing and say screw it. That is how frustrated I am. So did you go workout at lunch? I hope so.

Well ladies, I am going to go workout now. I have to stick with this, no matter what.

WardHog - What a process that certification is! I had no idea instructors had to jump through so many hoops. I don't blame you for reconsidering it since it seems to be so time-intensive and such a big commitment. Then again, it would be fun to say that you're a fitness instructor. :-)

Susie - I feel you on the Monday blues. I always get lazy when the day is rainy/cloudy, especially if it is the beginning of the work week. It just seems so much easier to curl up on the couch with a good and ignore the world. Did you manage to get your lunch workout done? If you want a couple of the veggie/low calorie recipes from the magazine, let me know. I'll shoot you a PM with some of them.

Mindy - I'm so sorry you're stuck! How frustrating! You know you're doing the right thing, though. It's just a matter of time. If it helps to know you're not alone, I've been stuck at 201 for a couple weeks now. I was 202 on Sunday. Grrrr! My body and I just aren't cooperating with each other, and it sounds like you're in the same boat. I'm sure we'll both see losses in a couple weeks; we just need to stick to it.

I'm hanging in there. I had two little snack bags of goldfish crackers yesterday afternoon, so I decided to not have my usual 8:00pm snack. I had baby carrots instead so that I wouldn't go over my calories for the day. I need to go to the grocery store on my lunch hour and pick up a couple things. Whenever I go at lunch, it is such a struggle not to pick up other snacks. I have to steer clear of the bakery, too. All those donuts are evil.

Well today is another day and another battle with the scale. I really hate it right now. I have officially gained back the 3 pounds I lost 2 weeks ago. I have no idea why either. :( I am just mad as h***. I did not work out today except in my yard raking grass and putting in edging bricks.

Wardhog- Glad to hear you are sticking to it. You're a real trooper.

Foucault- Don't you want to just pig out sometimes? I get tired of being good all the time, especially when I gain like this week, inspite of eating good. I'm sorry you are stuck. I'd rather be stuck than gaining. URGH!!!:mad:

Hi Ladies,

I didn't realize that I didn't post yesterday until I woke up this morning.

I did make it for a 20 min workout at lunch on Monday but that is all I did. I just couldn't get motivated.

Yesterday's workout made up for it. I did 45 min of low-impact aerobics, 30 min of tonning, and then a 30 min walk. I felt GREAT!

I need to catch my food journal up from yesterday too.

I'm on plan and feeling good about it. I hope the scales show my efforts when I weigh-in on Thursday.

Ward: You just keep on trucking along. I admire your committment.

Focult: I hope you avoided the doughnuts.

Mindy: I know how frustrated you are. Sometimes it helps me to have a word or phrase I can repeat to myself to keep me on track. Someone wants told me "Don't give up what you want most for what you want now". So, while that cookie sounds good it's not really what you want. How did your workout go?

Wardhog- That is so funny because I just finished my WO and I did my 15 min. kickboxing DVD and 30 of WATP. I hope it helped.

Susie- Glad you made it to the gym. Even 20 minutes is good. But then WOW!! 30 min. 45 and 30. That was quite the workout. Good for you!!! I bet you will lose again Thursday. Well the cookie is still there. I think I'll go make popcorn.

Mindy: I'm so proud of you for still having that cookie around. How are things going with you?

Last night I did the elipitical for 20 min. Went to the weight room to work chest and back. I did one arm rows using 20 lbs, 3 sets of 12, and used the bar plus 5 lbs=45 lbs for chest press, flat, decline and incline, 1 set on each, 12 reps. Then I walked for 30 min.

I sure hope for a loss at the scales tonight.

Ward and Mindy: Aren't you guys doing 5K's tomorrow?

Well, poo. I made a post, but the internet ate it.

Mindy - Isn't it frustrating when your body defies logic and gains weight when you've been on plan? Don't eat that cookie! You'll just feel bad about it after the fact. Or if you really want to have some, then just take a little piece of it and work it into your daily plan and give the rest away.

Susie - Good luck with the weigh-in! I hope all your hard work shows on the scales.

I ate lunch out yesterday, but I had a reasonably healthy sandwich with cheese, avocado, and lettuce. It came with a fruit salad. No potato chips for me, thank you! The sky was sprinkling when I went for my walk yesterday evening, but I went anyway. A little rain never hurt anyone, right? :-)

Susie, Group Power is a barbell class. It's 10 songs, each choreographed for a body part. First is a warm-up, then squats, chest, back and legs, triceps, biceps, lunges, shoulders, abs and cool-down. So, you work your whole body in one hour. It's fun! I think serious weight lifters think it's a waste of time, but it does the job for me. It sounds like you are getting into weight training, too - good for you!

Foucault, my Dad always used to tell us, "Don't worry about going out in the rain, you won't melt."

Today I did 25 min elliptical, Group Ride, and 27 min stair mill. Eating is on plan. Tomorrow might be a different story, though. I plan to work out in the morning, but then we're doing 4th of July stuff that involves food, food, food. :sigh:

Okay. My greatest fear was realized tonight. I went for my walk and was 1.5 miles from home when I have got to go to the bathroom. Luckily for me I was at a dead end road out in the middle of nowhere. So I found myself a nice bush and then headed home. My scale was the same today in spite of being on plan again yesterday. I have been today also. Tom. is lunch with Kelly. We are going to a Mexican place. I'll try and choose wisely. I hope that scale starts to move soon.

Foucault- Yes, I am doing a 5k for the 4th. Well I just did one tonight actually. I will do at least one more this weekend. Tonight I only walked, next time I will throw in some jogging. Sometimes a walk in the rain is nice. Yesterday it was downpouring here and stormy.

Susie- You are really kicking in the strength training. Good for you. I haven't done much of it in a while. Although my DVD's have strength moves in them. Hope you get good news at the scales tonight. I weigh-in tom. The way things have been going lately, I don't have very high hopes. :(:?:

Wardhog- You have been doing great. Don't fret the 4th. Just make sensible choices and don't pig out. You'll be fine. When are you doing your 5k?

We have a very rainy and overcast 4th here in Ohio. I"m just hoping they can do fireworks tonight. They say the rain will end my dark. I'm hoping so.

I had a 1 lb loss at the scales last night. I was a bit disappointed. I've done the same thing for the past 3 weeks and had big losses but not this week. It's ok, sometimes, as we alll know, our bodies do things we don't understand.

I'm not working out today, other than doing some house cleaning. Tomorrow morning I"ll go for a walk, then I'll be gone to a concert with my friend, from high school. We go to this event called SummerFest every year. This year we are seeing 10 bands..all from the 80's. We will make a day and night of it and have hotel rooms for the night in the city where we are going to the concert. I'm looking forward to the time with my friend.

I'm on plan with my food for the day. Now that I have the sugar out of my system it's easier to stay on plan. That's what I tell myself everytime I want a candy bar!

Ward: Your Group Power class sounds a lot like my Firm class. I love to strength train. I perfer it over cardio but it takes both to be healthy so I work on it all. I'm sure you won't get to far off plan today.

Mindy: How did the scales look? I laughed when I read about your biggest fear happening. It looks like you were able to handle it with ease! :)

Well yesterday the scale was up again to 218. What is going on? Went to lunch with Kelly and talked about it. I think the only thing it can be is that I stay home all day now and even though I try to do something outside everyday, it's not the same as going to work 5 days a week. So I am going to try going for a walk every morning and then do my evening workout also.

I did not count calories yesterday at all. I ran errands for about 3 hours after lunch. So I was up and moving a good part of the day. I bought a nes kickboxing DVD and did that last night. This morning the scale was down a pound to 217.2. See I think I just need to keep moving all day. But I can't go shopping everyday. I have to figure something out.

Susie- Yeah for a pound!! You are doing a good job. Keep it up. Have a great time at the concert. Where is it at? I know I've heard of it?

Help! My eating has been out of control for two days. It was really bad on the 4th, like - my stomach hurt but I still kept eating. My husband is going out of town for a whole week, and I think that's what has triggered the binge. But I need it to stop.

Exercise has been good - Group Power and 45 min of cardio on Fri., Group Ride and 52 min on Sat. I will do my run today - I plan to get on the treadmill and just see how far I can go. The Wimbledon final will be on so I hope that will interest/motivate me to go for a while.

I hope you are all having a better week-end than I have!

Well things are moving in the right direction at least. Friday was lunch day and then ran errands for about 4 hours. Lost almost a pound on Sat. From 218 to 217.2. Yesterday we worked in the yard alomost all day. We cut down some huge hedges and hauled away, trimmed some bushes, weed whacked. you name it. I was down another pound to 216 this morning. So what does this tell me. Yes, I need to keep busy all summer long. No sitting and watching tv for 3 hours a day.

Wardhog- As a SAHM I don't know how you do it, except that you have young children to chase around and tend to. There is no one at my house during the week but me. I think that is what get me in trouble. Sorry you have been chowing down. I know you will get back on track though. You are good that way. I had my favorite Chinese last night, which I haven't had in over 6 months. I figured I had worked my a** off so I could do it. Hang in there. You will be back on track soon.

Hi Ladies,

I just got back from a 1 hr walk with my hubby. I've been wanting to start working out on Sunday's again and tonight he said, let's put on our shoes and go. It's nice he supports me like that.

I really needed to go for the walk. Last night at the concert I was at with my friend, it was about 6 o'clock and we were getting hungry. It was so hot and so we decided on ice cream for dinner--not the best choice but we did have big salads at lunch time, as I was finishing eating my Greaters BuckeyBlitz, I looked at the container, which was a single serving and it said 510 calories! I about died!!!

Hopefully all the dancing we did in at our seats and the walk I did today will counter that ice cream.

Ward: Have you been able to get the food undercontrol? Would jounaling your food the week your hubby is gone help you to keep it undercontrol?
I watched some of Wimbelton yesterday when the Williams sisters were playing. They have such great bodies! I also watched it today...what a match. It was very exciting.

Mindy: It looks like you found the key to get those scales moving again. Good for you!

I think I have missed a couple of days. My husband is out of town for the week so I am a bit scattered (more than usual). I think that is what has triggered the eating binge. Today has been better, so I hope it is tapering off now. The good news is that workouts have been good. I ended up running 10 miles on Sunday, in 1:42. Today I did Group Power and 45 minutes of cardio.

Susie, have a great long workout tonight.

Mindy, I hope you are staying busy. I am glad the scale is moving in the right direction again.

Well today has been raining and kind of yucky. I did get outside this morning to try and get the dirt off the stumps we pulled yesterday. That was a bit of work. I kept busy in the house: laundry, dishes, phone calls, picking up. The scale was down to 214.6 today. All I can say is " What the H***?" I am back where I was 2 weeks ago. Now I need to keep going down and not put any back on. Of course, I am now a week away from TOM. Traditionally not a good weight loss week. Man I just want this weight off so I can relax, at least a little.

Susie- Ice cream for dinner. Yummy!! How nice to go for a walk with your hubbie. Hope you have a good workout tonight at the Y.

Wardhog- 10 miles? Man, you rock!!! I did another 5k yesterday around the neighborhood. I wanted to beat my official race time of 46.1. I did it in 47 min. There are a lot of hills on this route though, so I am not upset. Maybe someday I will be able to run the whole thing.

Hey everyone! It's been a nice, long weekend for me (I took today off work), so I haven't been around much. I was a bad girl on the 5th - the day after everyone else was probably bad. My boyfriend wanted to go out to eat at a Mexican place. I agreed and then I ate a gazillion tortilla chips and my entire burrito. I felt sick afterwards, and I knew I shouldn't have eaten the entire plate of food. Uck. But we're all back on track now. Right? :-) Holiday is over and it's back to work and plan. I'm determined to see 199 by Sunday or Monday. We'll see if that actually happens, though...

WardHog - I feel you on the binging. I did a bit of that this weekend, too. Once I give up control, I go all out. I should be more careful about keeping my willpower up. Glad to hear that you're back on track now and working out so hard at the gym. I hope things aren't too crazy while your husband is away.

Mindy - Woohoo! I'm glad to see the scale is moving back down for you. Your dedication go the 5k runs/walks has really motivated me to search for one to participate in. I know they have a few around here; I just need to keep my ear out for any news of scheduled ones.

Susie - A pound is a pound less you'll have to worry about in the future, so good for you! As for the ice cream - ouch! I'd probably die, too! That's a whole lotta calories. At leas you compensated for it by having healthy choices earlier in the day. I love ice cream, but the good stuff is aways stuff with calories. I want to eat a cup of ice cream, not a bitty little half cup. So, I've taken to buying and eating soy ice cream. Depending on what you get, it's about 110 or 120 calories for half a cup. Which means that for 200 calories, I can get a yummy snack in.

Good Morning!! Well today is another day. Yesterday I stayed pretty busy,but missed my workout. I ended up going to my mom's to visit with my niece that's here from Kentucky. Then we went to get ice cream. I had a yogurt strawberry sundae. Not too bad. I didn't even eat it all. Good for me. The scale is at 215 today, up just a wee bit, but then I didn't workout. So back to it today.

Foucault- Mexican can get you every time. I hear you on wanting to see 199. I want it so bad it hurts. At this point I will be delighted to see 209, under 210. Keep working. We are going to get there!!:D

Hi Ladies,

I'm crazy busy at work again today but wanted to pop in for a quick check-up.

I had a great cardio workout last night. I did a 30 min walk, then 15 min on the bike and 15 min on the elliptical. Tonight I have a hour of cardio planned and then weight training. My FIRM class was cancelled so I'll just do something similar myself. When I saw the class was cancelled I called my workout partner and made other plans right away so we just didn't call it off.

I'm feeling so good from working out everyday!

I'm sorry not to do personals today. I will catch them up tomorrow.

Hi y'all! Just a quick update before I hit the sack. Since my husband's not here, I am going to bed early! I did Group Ride, 25 min on the elliptical and 27 min on the stair mill today. My legs are way sore. I stayed on my eating plan - 2 days and counting. I feel a lot better, too.

I did Group Power, 23 min on the elliptical, 22 min on the recumbent bike. Eating is on plan. I was scared to weigh myself after last week-end, but I braved the scale anyway. I am glad to say I'm only up a couple of pounds, 131.4. whew.

Mindy - The yogurt sundae was a great choice. You have more will power than me. I'd probably be tempted to get the yummy ice cream. :-)

I didn't work out at all yesterday. I was going to go for my usual walk, but when I got home, I had the worst headache ever. I felt like crying it was so bad. Went to bed at 5:30 or so and didn't wake up until 8:00. I managed to eat some soup and salad for dinner. Those low sodium Progresso soups are the best. You can eat the entire can for about 200 calories. Plus, low sodium is our friend, right? I feel much better today, so I'm definitely going to hit the bike path and do at least two miles after dinner, depending on the weather and whether it starts raining.

Well I tried to stay busy today. I ran some errands, planted a new bush and went for a wog. I wanted to go further than 2 miles but I felt the bathroom urge calling me ;) and headed back home, lickity split. My scale was up just a teeny bit today, 215.4 and TOM will be arriving in 6 days. So I really want to just not gain this week. Please!!!

Foucault- You know the yogurt was really good. Tasted just like ice cream. Sorry you weren't feeling well. Glad you feel better. Hope you have a good workout.

Wardhog- See i know you would get right back on track. And your binge wasn't so bad after all. Today I am just hungry. I want to eat everytime I turn around. Yikes!!!

Susie- Look at you working out for an hour a day. You go girl!!! I think I might need to step it up just to keep up with you. I think I'll need some kaopectate? though.

I had an INSANE day yesterday. BUT, I still got my at work workout in. I ended up spending the night away from home to help with a work dinner and meeting that was taking place last night, so I only got my work, workout in but I'm glad for it.

Today will be my weigh-in at TOPS. I sure hope I show a loss. I'm a little concerned because of the extra calories I had over the weekend but I think I'll be ok.

Ward: Glad to see that you have stopped the binging and back on track. I knew you would!

Mindy: I really hope you don't have a gain. I know it messes with your mind. Keep doing what you are doing, it is working.

Focult: I like those Progesso soups too. Very filling and very low cal.

Just finished my workout. I did Jillian again. I haven't done her DVD in at least a month. So naturally, it kicked my butt. Then I did 15 min. of WATP. Man I had no legs left. Hopefully that will insure I don't gain for tomorrow's weigh-in.

Susie- Hope your weigh-in went well. I just know it did. You have been doing a good job, other than the weekend.

Wardhog- I would be dead after 52 min. on an elliptical. You have certainly become quite the athlete. I am thinking I need to go from 40 or 45 min. a day to 50 or 60. I think my body needs the push.

Hi Ladies,

I lost 1 lb when I weighed in. You know I want more but I'll take it. The best thing is the way I'm feeling. I feel GREAT!

I have a out-of-town meeting next Thursday so I won't make my weigh-in but I'm determined and counting on you all to keep me on track so that in 2 weeks I show a BIG loss.

Mindy: I work with Scientistis and Doctors and they told me that to burn fat you need to work out at a moderate pace; where you can carry on a light conversation--not to intense or it goes to aerobic instead of fat burning--for 40 min at a time. That is what I've been doing.
I hope your weigh-in went well.

Ward: Is it time for your hubby to return home? How did the weigh-in go?

I'll be around some this weekend..I'll be looking for all of you.

Well weigh-in could have been better but I was down to 215.6, a loss of 2.6 for the week. TOM is coming on Tuesday so I am just trying to maintain at this point. PLEASE!!!! My workout for today was putting up 100 bales of hay in the barn. That is always fun.

Susie- Yeah!!! You lost a pound. Any loss is good. Glad to hear how good you feel. Just keep wotking it.

Wardhog- Didn't see you today. Hope things are going well.

Ward - I hope your hubby's back in town and you're able to get back to the normal routine. I know how much changes throw off my plan.

I picked up some avocado/cucumber rolls at Whole Foods today. I love sushi without the fish. I was going to get a tasty personal serving of focaccia bread with it, but I opted for the orzo salad since it was a healthier choice. I've been getting my walk in each day. I was an even 200 a couple mornings ago, so I'm hoping to see 199 on Sunday when I weigh in.

Crazy few days lately. Since my daughter was home for a few days we have been busy, busy people. The whole hay thing on Friday and then yesterday we got up and went to get a load of mulch (she has a truck) unloaded that in the driveway. Then we went to do some other errands and shopping. Then we went to the county fair and walked around for 3 hours. No official workouts for 2 days but lots of weird kinds of exercise. Today I am down to 214.8. Please stay until after TOM.

Foucault- As I was reading your post I thought, I have never eaten any of the foods you talked about. I am such a plain jane kind of eater. It does making eating good a little tricky, since there are so many things I just don't like. Hope you get under that 200 mark. How exciting.

Hi guys! I seem to be slacking on journaling here.

Mindy, great news on the loss!

I think I need to check out Whole Foods. I have gone to Trader Joe's a few times, and I end up buying nothing!

Anyway, Friday I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. Yesterday I did Group Ride + 52 min and today I did 30 min jog (3.1 mi), 30 min stair mill, 30 min elliptical and 30 min recumbent bike. We're going to another birthday party tonight and I wanted to do all I could in case I end up over eating.

Ward - If you're a fan of yogurt, try the Fage brand Greek Yogurt at Trader Joe's. Just stir in a spoonful of honey and throw in a handful of walnuts. It's so tasty and really good for you if you get the 0% fat kind.

Mindy - I'm actually a picky eater, too. I like plain foods - stuff without too much of a strong taste. That's why I never add many spices to anything I make. Some people dump the salt on dishes, but salt never occurs to me because it gives it too much taste. Anyway, I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new foods, as long as the food doesn't involve meat. Whole Foods has great prepackaged foods like salads and such. Albuquerque and Santa Fe have a lot of folks interest in organic and whole foods, so it's easy to find new things and local produce around here, even if we are in the high desert. I actually ate some dried hibiscus flowers today. Trader Joe's sells them. They're pretty tasty, kind of like dried fruit.

So, the big news today? I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 199.5!!!! Yippie!!! I did a little dance. :-) My official weigh-in is a few days away, but it was nice to see that before I went on my morning walk. When I started out at 254, I told myself that if I could just see 199, then I would know that my goal was possible. Losing a hundred pounds seems like such a huge task, but now that I've got it down to about 40 or 50 pounds, it seems like I can do it. The next goal I'm working toward is 180 by the end of October. If I can lose five pound a month, then I think I can make it.

Hi Ladies,

It looks like everyone has had a good weekend and stayed on plan. I had a little trouble with that yesterday but have managed to do well today.

I'm planning on going for a walk here in just a little bit.

Focult: How wonderful for you to be under 200.

Mindy: Your plan to move more is working...look at the number on the scales.

Ward: How did things go at the birthday party?

Kelly: How's the class going?

I've got to go eat dinner and then get my gym shoes on and get moving.

Hi everyone! I am so glad to see everyone doing so well! Keep up the great work! I am one class down, one class to go. Lots of work, but a fairly short period of time, so I'll get over it. Weight is holding steady, at least I'm not gaining. Three weeks to go and my last class will be over. Then, watch out cuz here I come. I will have two weeks off before school starts, and I want to lose maybe 5 pounds or so before then. We'll see!

Hey ladies. Well TOM arrived early today and the scale was down to 213.8. That is where I got to about a month ago, before all the up, down crap. I hope to go down some more and stay there this time. 210 is the goal I'm shooting for, hopefully by the end of the month. That doesn't seem tough, but we know how srewy my body is.

I kept busy yesterday: groceries, yard work and then an hour long walk. I threw in a little jogging the last half. Question: I read that 30 min. of exercise is good for maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. However, to lose you should try to do 60 min. What do you think? I have been doing 45 and bumped it up to 60 yesterday. HMMM???

Wardhog- I know what you will say. Heck, what did you work out the other day? 2 hours? You rock the gym!!

Foucault- Can I say :woohoo: You made it under 200. That must feel awesome. We do not have either of those stores around here. Our local supermarket is supposed to carry a brand of greek yougurt. I might have to check it out.

Susie- that's right. Get those shoes on and move thy fanny. Just kidding. You are doing great.

Kelly- Hey, it's about time girl. LOL. You are awesome with the maintaining. You are right. You can still pull a loss before school starts. I know you will do it after your class finishes.

Yay, Mindy! I know you are going to hit that goal!

I have read many different things about exercise duration. I personally like to have a good long workout on the week-ends, but that has more to do with having the time to myself while the kids are home with my husband. Some trainers recommend HIIT (high intensity interval training), which takes less time than steady state cardio, but gets your heart rate up higher, burns more calories, and stokes your metabolism for hours afterwards. Let me know if you'd like to know more about it and I can post more details.

Susie, how was the workout?

Kelly - hey! Way to go on the maintaining. I hope your class goes well.

As for me - it's another crazy week of two kids in different camps. I dropped them off, blazed through the grocery store, raced home to do Firm Complete Aerobics and Weight Training, took a quick shower and flew out the door to get my daughter. whew! Eating is on plan. The cake and ice cream at the birthday party yesterday looked and smelled wonderful, but for some reason, I was not the least bit tempted. Weight this morning was 128.2.

Wardhog- That sounds very interesting. I know there are a lot of walking programs in magazines and stuff that have plans like warm up 1 min- walk faster for 2- slow down for 3- speed up super fast for 3- etc. Is this kind of what you are talking about? Now when I go walk/jog I walk for a few minutes and then speed up to a jog, then walk, then jog etc. Does that count?

I decided I was going to try and step it up to an hour a day. So, since I am home I thought I would add a walk/jog in the morning and then do some DVD or strength training at night. I just did a 30 min. walk/jog. I timed and clocked the first mile. I did it in 14 min. :carrot: That's pretty good for me. Under 15. By the way the scale was the same, 213.8, but I only ate 1100 calories yesterday. Woops!! You think my body is trying to hang on to those few calories today?

Hi Ladies,

I'm here and on track. I went for that walk on Sunday night, 2 miles. It felt great.

Yesterday I did 40 min of cardio at the gym at work, and then did 20 min at the gym at home and some lower body weights.

I'm about to leave work and go to my Firm class (45 min cardio, 30 min low-weights, hi-reps class), then I'll do 30 min more of cardio.

I did have some french fries at lunch and they sure tasted good.

I'm busy, busy at work, so I'll have to do personal's tomorrow.

Everyone is doing great! Keep it up.

Yes, Mindy, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I read a book by Jim Karas (Flip the Switch?) where he described a very specific 20-min interval program to do three days a week, and he said that's all the cardio anyone ever needs (this is in addition to three days of weight training). It used a scale of perceived effort, so you would do 2 min of warm-up at your level 5, a minute at 6, a minute at 7, then 8, then 9. Repeat the 6, 7, 8, 9 three more times, and then cool down for 2 minutes at level 5 again. You get your heart rate up really high by the end of that last interval, and then you drop back down to recover for a minute. You can do this on a bike, treadmill (increasing speed and/or incline), or elliptical but I am not sure how it would work just out on the road. Anyway, like you said, there are always lots of these types of plans in fitness magazines, etc.

Susie, it sounds like you are really getting into the workouts. Mmmm ... french fries. I haven't had them in months.

Today I dropped the kids off and got into a Group Ride class a few minutes late. After that I did 30 min on the stair mill and 26 min on the elliptical before I had to go pick up my daughter. Eating is on plan, but I am a bit worried about the pan of brownies I have in the oven right now. I had to make them because my husband is having a couple of friends over for the all star game tonight. I hope they eat them all.

Hi Ladies,

I'm still pretty busy at work today--aren't we all busy?!--but I have a little breathing room today.

I had a great workout yesterday. I did my FIRM class, then I went and did 30 more minutes on the treadmill. I felt so strong and so in shape pushing my body like that. The strangest thing happened too. I went home and was fixing myself something to eat. I was hungry and instead of grapping a handful of something..usually sweet or salty is what I look for--I thought to myself, how about some watermelon and I got out some watermelon and had it while I was waiting for my dinner to cook. I can't believe I actually CRAVED something that was good for me. I didn't even think about the small peppermint patties my hubby keeps in the freezer! It felt awesome to think this way. Like I was normal!!

My food is on plan today and I'm looking forward to my workout tonight. I didn't workout at lunch--my knee is a little sore so I didn't want to over work it.

Tomorrow and Friday my posting might be sketchy. I have a offsite meeting all day tomorrow. I have to leave my house by 6:30 a.m. to get there by 8:00 a.m. and it's not over until 6:00 p.m. On Friday, we have a event in the building that I'm a part of and I don't think I'll be at my desk much. I'll try to post from home. I'll be thinking about you all and keeping on track by doing so.

Ward: It sounds like you are right on plan. Are all the brownies gone?

Kelly: It was so good to hear from you and hear that you are maintaining..that is an's hard to keep the weight-off and yet we must learn to do that if we don't want to have to keep losing and gaining and losing and gaining.

Mindy: Are those scales still saying the number you want?

Hey there!! I am really trying hard to make some progress. It just seems that I am stuck at this point and it is getting very frustrating. I worked out an hour yesterday and 2 days ago, 45 min. one night and 50 min tonight. I just can't seem to make any progess. I was 215 today, up from 213.8 yesterday. I am doing different workouts with different intensities. URGH!!! That 210 just doesn't want to grace my scale. I really don't know what else to do, so I will just keep doing the same thing until I can't take it anymore.

Susie- Good job working out and eating that watermelon. I'm like you. Right before dinner is a munchy time for me too. I usually end up with some crackers in my mouth. Sounds like a busy time at work. Just stay focused and on plan.

Wardhog- The book you mentioned only uses machines, correct? I think I need to check out something new to get things moving again. Let me know if you can think of any good books that would fit my needs. You keep up the good work. You have done an awesome job and look great. You should be very happy and proud of yourself.

Kelly - Glad to hear the classes are going well, even if they are time-consuming.

Mindy - Definitely check out that Greek yogurt, especially if the brand your store is selling is Fage. I've been eating Fage for a while now, and it's so delicious with a bit of honey and some walnuts. Plus, it is *very* filling without all the calories and fat grams. As for being stuck around 215 - you know you're doing the right thing with your food and exercise, so just stick with it. I've heard in some of the other forums here that people had luck getting out of their rut by eating *more* calories than they normally did. I don't have any experience with that myself because when I eat more, then I just gain more. But, if you're still stuck in a couple weeks, and you're frustrated, then maybe you could give it a try and kick your calories up by 200 or 300 a day to see if it will knock your metabolism around.

Ward - The training you were talking about sounds interesting. I'm going to look for that book the next time I go in the bookstore. I'm always looking for ways to get myself moving.

Susie - Isn't watermelon such a great snack? It's so good for you and it has the sweet taste that I crave sometimes. I've been having it for a snack every day for the past two weeks.

So, my official weigh-in was 199. Yippie! After nearly a month dithering around 200, I finally dropped below. I'm hoping to lose at least three more pounds before the end of the month to keep myself on track for my short-term goal. Whether that will actually happen or not is anyone's guess. Work was trying today, and I really didn't feel like walking afterward, but I made myself do my usual two miles. If I start making excuses for myself, then I find an excuse every day, and then I'll just sit on my butt. And that is definitely not conducive to weight loss.

Susie, you are doing so well with your workouts! I hope you see a good result on the scale.

Mindy, you are becoming a workout machine, too! You can do interval workouts walking/running, but it would be difficult with the one I read about because it would be hard to time the intervals. You could use a stopwatch, but then you might get hit by a car!

Foucault - congratulations on officially hitting 199. Keep it up! I don't know that I would recommend that specific book - it was interesting and all, but there are just so many theories out there. I check lots of diet/fitness books out of the library and give them a quick read. If there are takeaways I will jot them down, but a lot of them just seem like pure common sense. Jim Karas has a blog if you'd like to check it out -

I woke up at 5am and just couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and ran. I did about 4.2 hilly miles (:51), and also some yardwork. Eating is on plan.

I too got up early this morning and headed outside. I pulled some weeds, did a little raking and then put down mulch. Lots of bending and using my arms. Then tonight I did 30 min. of kickboxing DVD. I hope the scale looks good tomorrow. It is weigh-in day. Then I can sort of blow it by going to pizza hut for my son's birthday. We are having an early lunch with my family. It was the only time we could all get together for a while. He has requested an ice cream cake. Says he has asked for years, so he gets his wish this year.

Josh, my son, has rehearsals for his play next week. My niece has horse shows all weekend and after lunch I am taking ex-hubbie to get some nerves severed in his back. Not much fun, but hopefully will eliminate the pain he is having. He was injured last year, had surgery to remove a disk and is still in pain.

Susie- hope your weigh-in goes well tonight. I am sending good vibes your way.

Foucault- I have toyed with the idea of adding some calories or the zigzagging wardhog was doing. The site I went to has my calories really high and I don't think I can do that. They say 1842, or 1680 on the drastic method. That seems like way too much. On the cyclying it is something like 1680, 2016, 1680, 1849. Yikes, those seem so high. Super congrats on hitting 199 and also getting out there and walking, even when you didn't feel like it. That is exactly why I work out everyday. Afraid to stop.

Wardhog- Yeah I don't think I could time things while I'm out walk/jogging. I'll have to come up with something else. You are a plethera of information. I will check out anything you come across that you think would be helpful. I am going to that website when I'm done here. Good job on the hilly terain. I have hills here too. It makes it much harder.

Hey y'all. Who had a weigh-in today? I did, up 0.8. bleh - whatev. I got to the gym today, did Group Power and 30 min on the recumbent bike. Eating is on plan.

Mindy, I am still zig-zagging, but I too, thought the calories were too high on the site I linked. I just adjusted the numbers until they averaged 1500, which is what I was eating before. Unfortunately I think I might have to adjust down a little more if I want to keep losing. I haven't decided yet because I am pretty happy where I am, but I just don't have any wiggle room.

We have nothing planned for the week-end - yay! See you tomorrow.

Today was the strangest day I've had in a while. The scale was kind. I weighed 213.4, so officially down 2 pounds from last week but just down a little from Tuesday. Okay, I guess.

Then we went to lunch for my sons BD. Right before we started eating a guy fell and passed out by the front door. They called 911 and it seems him and his GF had gone into the bathroom (after she just bailed him out of jail) and shot up heroine so he was overdosing. The girl had left him lay there, ran outside to the back and came in through the kitchen. Probably getting rid of the evidence. Fun, fun.

Then my brothers horse was sick. It is at my moms house. They ended up putting it to sleep and my brother is an idiot. Then ex-hubbie had surgery on back and now I am chatting with sons ex-GF about all their traumas. Can I just go to sleep or something now. I did walk/jog 2 miles.

Wardhgo- I've said it efore. I have no trouble sticking to a plan, I just don't know what the plan should be. It's all a guessing game isn't it? You shouldn't fret, you have done great.

Susie- I know you had a weigh-in. How was it?

I did Group Ride and 30 min on the stair mill. The group fitness director was there and reiterated that, "I really want you to go through ride training." I told her I wasn't sure I wanted to, and she said to keep it in mind, and that she also said "no" the first three times they asked her. Now she teaches four different programs. Eating is on plan.

Well today I had an open house to go to. It rained the whole time. It is muggy and yucky and I just feel hot and tired and lazy today. Scale was still 213ish today. I should workout tonight but at the moment I just don't feel like doing anything.

Hi Ladies,

I made it through my crazy week last week..and I'm so glad it's over with! I wasn't able to make my weigh-in on Thursday due to the location of my work meeting and the time we got out of the meeting and the traffic. So, I will not know until this Thursday if I had a loss or not.

I haven't worked out since Wednesday so I need to get my walk in tonight. My body is telling me it's ready to move! Despite being a little out of my routine I've managed to keep myself pretty much on track..much better than I have done in the past when I have had interrupt my routine.

Ward: I have no idea how you could have a gain but it didn't look like much of a one. About the riding know what you can take on and what you can't so don't let anyone pressure you. At one time I was 12 lbs from my goal weight for TOPS. They talked me into being an Area Captain. I got into it so much and taking care of everyone else but me and I know it was one of my factors to gaining my weight back. I was so involved in their weight-loss success and didn't concerntate on mine and gained it all back. I won't make that mistake again. I can be involved in the group and give encourgement but I don't want to be the person everyone is counting on. I do that in to many other areas of my life. This time my weight-loss work and focus is on and for me.

Mindy: Looks like the scales went the way they were supposed to go. Did you get your workout in?

Focult: I can't wait for the day when I see those scales go under 200--it's got to be an amazing feeling!

I need to go finish cleaning the bathroom, make a trip to Walmart and then go for my Sunday night walk.

Well girls, finally. I have seen 212 on the scale. It may have been 212.8, but still it was 212. Man trying to lose weight this summer is like pulling teeth, without novacaine. I did go for a walk/jog last night, about 3 miles. I did one stretch that was about .7 of a mile. That is great for me. I just kept telling myself I could keep going. Just get to the next driveway, or the next road sign.

So for today I just need to get up, do some yard work, go to the bookstore and keep busy. Yesterday's eating was excellent, today's should be too.

Susie- I bet you're glad the craziness is over and you settle back down. You get back on track and I'm sure you will see a loss when you get to weigh-in Thursday. Hope you got that walk in and enjoyed it.

I don't remember when I checked in. Sunday I ran 4.5 mi, also did 30 min on the recumbent bike and did 90 min of yardwork. It was brutally hot and smoggy and totally kicked my butt. Then I had a horrible binge - ate everything I could get my hands on. blech.

Monday was better - back on the eating plan. I also did Group Power and 35 min of cardio. Today I did Group Ride and 52 min of cardio.

I can't believe summer is almost over - my daughter goes back to school in three weeks! Mindy, when do you go back?

Hi Ladies,

Well, it's crazy again. I am working on a big meeting that is happening next Tuesday and Wed so there are a lot of little things to get pulled together. My boss is out of the office this week so that is nice and helpful--I can concentrate on the meeting and it's items for the most part.

I had a great workout last night. I did 40 min of cardio and then did weights for my upper body. Eating was good yesterday.

Today I've done 40 min of cardio at lunch and will go to Firm class tonight. Food it good today as well.

I'm hoping for a loss on Thursday.

Mindy: You are moving those scales! I'm so proud of you for not giving up when the going has gotten tough!

Ward: Nice to see you pic on your posts! Isn't it funny how sometimes we just have a binge? but you were able to move past it...I'm sure you remember a time when if you binged you binged longer than that---I know I sure have.

Hye, hey!!

Just got back from my walk/jog. I had a huge breakthrough. I jogged a mile straight. :carrot: Then I walked about .1 and turned around and jogged .7. Oh my legs are killing me. Plus I worled in my yard today for hours and my back is feeling all the bending and shoveling. Let's see what that scale says tomorrow. Today it was still 212.8.

Wardhog- I was wondering where you were at. Good to see you have been working hard. Sometimes I think we work so hard our bodies just need that food. I made a zuchini bread today and it is calling my name after my jog. I've got room in my calories and it is only 130 a slice. We don't start until after Labor Day. It's a Michigan law. But I will have to go back about 2 weeks earlier.

Susie- Stick with it even though things are crazy again. Sounds like yu've been getting your workouts in this week.

Good morning,

I'm looking at another busy day at work so I wanted to get my post done early so I won't miss doing that.

I have been so excited the past couple of days. I've had two people at the Y say to me "Are you losing weight?"..that feels so good when people notice!

I had an awesome workout yesterday. I did my 40 min of cardio at work and then after work I went to my Firm Class. 45 min of aerobics, 45 min of tonning and then a 30 min walk on the college campus--a lot of hills. I was one sweaty mess but I felt so good..mentally and physcially.

This morning I really feel it in my legs. We did a lot of squats and I feel every muscle in my legs (Mindy---I know how you are feeling!)

I'll go to the gym at lunch today and then meeting my workout partner after work.

Oh my goodness!! Today my scale said 211.8. Can you believe it. So things are moving in the right direction. I am excited. I went to a daylily farm today with my mom and walked around about 2 acres like 5 times. Got home late and do not have time to work out tonight so I am skipping it. Bad me!!

Susie- Boy are you working out a lot. Keep up the good work. Tomorrow's weigh-in should be looking pretty good.

Wardhog- What can we say. You are always on plan. Good for you.

Good morning,

Well, it's weigh-in day. I hope the scales show my effort. I hate that I base the way I feel about myself on what those numbers say.

I am feeling good and getting compliments and I'm noticing my clothes are a bit bigger so I should focus on those things as well.

I'm just feeling a bit nervous about it this morning for some reason.

Yesterday I did the crossramp machine for 30 min, biked for 15 min for my lunch time workout, and then last night I did a 30 min walk and finished with weights working inner/outer thighs, chest and triceps.

Mindy: I'm so happy to see those scales going down for you. Do you realize how close that ONEderland is for you?

Ward: I think you are WORKOUT QUEEN!

Susie, how was the weigh-in? You worked hard and I hope it shows on the scale. Have you done measurements? The scale never tells the whole story - compliments, looser clothes and shrinking measurements all add up!

Mindy, I am glad to see the scale continue the downward trend for you. I bet the daylily farm was beautiful, and you didn't need another workout after all that walking, anyway.

Today I did Group Ride and 52 min of cardio. Eating is on plan and I hope to see a good number on the scale tomorrow. I have been scared to weigh because of the food fest I had on Sunday. Oh well - it is what it is.

Well today the scale was up a pound, back to 212.8. But here's the funny thing. I have been working in my yard all day long and came in a little while ago and hopped on the scale. It said 211.8. See what happens when I bust my butt. Oh I also got up this morning and went for a walk/jog. I ran a mile in 13 min. :carrot: Then i kept going walk/jog for another 1+ miles. I want that scale to look good tomorrow for weigh-in. Maybe I've got it covered.

Susie- Good luck with the weigh-in tonight. You keep wotking out like that and you can't help but lose.

Wardhog- I'm sure your scale will be kind tom. You can't have eaten that much in one day to mess things up that bad.

Susie, how was the weigh-in?

Mine was good - 127.4. I don't get it, though. The prior week I was on plan every day and gained like 0.6 lb. Then last week I had a monster binge on Sunday and lost 2.2 lb. I'll take it - it just confuses me.

Today I had to force myself to go to the gym, but once I got there I got into it. I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. Eating WILL BE on plan. I am feeling a little stressed because my ILs are coming, arriving Wed. and staying a week. I know my eating will go way off track when they're here (it always does, even if I vow it won't), so I need to toe the line.

Today was weigh-in and I was at 211.6, so that is a loss of 1.6 for the week. I have to be happy with that. Tonight I walk/jog 2 miles and I actually jogged most of it. I think I am getting better at this. Tom. will be busy. Going to the fair to see my neice show horses and then to my son's show at night. My daughter is home for the weekend so we will make the most of it.

Wardhog- great job on the scale. How exciting. You must be so skinny now. I bet you look great.

Susie- I was hoping to hear about your weigh-in today. Let us know. Don't keep us in suspense much longer.

I'm sorry to have missed you all yesterday. I had a lot to do at work and couldn't get a minute to jump online and then last night when I got home from work I had to get things ready for a yard sale that I was having today.

Well, the scales did not show my efforts. I gained .25 lb. I know it's not a lot but I don't understand why I had a gain. But, all I can do is to keep going the path that I'm on and know the effort will show soon. I'm not giving up!

Mindy: You had a great loss for the week and look at your workout times!

Ward: Your story of a loss this week after your binge inspires me that next week my weigh-in can even out. I want you to know that I believe you can stay on plan even with the IL here.

My yard sale was pretty successful. I made $147.00 or things I didn't want. I used to always give my things away but I decided last year to try a yard sale and see what happened. I had success and so I tried aain this year and I feel it was success. What doesn't sell, I still give away. So, the garage is cleaned out a bit and I have some money in my pocket.

I'm about to go take a shower and then we are going to the ATP tennis match tonight.

I'll see you all tomorrow. I'll get back to workout out tomorrow as well. I gave myself Friday and today off form my workouts.

Well it has been a busy weekend, especially since my daughter is home for a few days. Didn't get a chance to workout yesterday and the scale is up a pound today. Well. I'll get back with it today and get that pound back off.

My whole family went to see my son's play last night. It was good, and fun to have everyone there. We had also gone to the fair to watch my neice horse show. Well back to normal life today.

Susie- Just keep at it. You know how queer my body is. I can work really hard and noting. Then all of a sudden I'll drop. So just stick with it.;)

I am so hungry today! I've managed so far to not have anything extra other than what I have planned to eat for the day. I'm really looking forward to lunch! Really for 2 reasons, so I can eat and so I can workout.

Before I forget, I might not get a chance to post again until Wed night or Thursday sometime. I have an offsite meeting on Tuesday and Wed. Not sure how much computer time I might have. I will post if I can.

Mindy: I didn't get a chance to workout yesterday either. I love going for my walk on Sunday nights--I walk up town and it's so peaceful. Not a lot of traffic and it let's me look around the town that I live in. I don't work in the same place I live so it's nice to just get out and look around. I didn't have that walk but I cleaned house and did some yard work so I'm happy with just moving. This week will be a challenge for me because I will be out of my routine with this 2-day offsite meeting. I am determined to do what I can. Workout when I can and keep my food undercontrol.

I know that pound that you gained will come back off soon.

The ILs get here on Wed. and I have been doing a lot of cleaning, meal planning and shopping. My son has camp this week, but my daughter is home with me. Yesterday I ran around 6 miles in 1:10. Today I did Firm Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. Eating is on plan.

Gosh I don't understand why the scale does this. I am up to 213.2 today when I was 211.6 on Friday. I have been working in the yard all day today, except when I went to lunch with Kelly. My back hurts too much to do any exercise tonight, but the yard work "should" be enough. Tomorrow Kelly, her girls and I are going to the fair. Should be fun. We'll get some walking in.

Wardhog- Good job on the running and good luck with the in-laws.

Susie- Have a good week, even though it is going to be kind of different.

Oh, the fair sounds fun. I don't know what to say about your deviations on the scale. At least the trend is downwards. How are your measurements, and how are your clothes fitting?

Today I did Group Ride and 23 min of cardio. It was all I had time for. The group fitness director was teaching today and she had me up on stage with her for class. She likes to ride with someone beside her sometimes. Then when we were done, she says, "Baby steps." :lol: I had a really good class, though, because there is no sandbagging when all of those people can see you!

We're meeting friends at their pool later so that should be fun. Eating is on plan.

I invited my parents over to have dinner with us and the ILs on Friday night. I am grilling salmon and serving brown rice pilaf and vegetables. The ILs (and whoever else wants it) will have soup to start. For dessert I am making blueberry crumble with ice cream. ILs (and again, anyone else who wants it) will also have coffee and fruit. Anyway, are those two side dishes enough? If not, any suggestions for another side dish? Maybe some sort of salad with some fruit in it?

Oh my gosh! It was hot today. Me, Kelly and the girls made it to the fair and had a good time. We went from one end to the other, and back again. The girls had fun seeing all the animals. We even got her oldest on the pony ride and then on my neices pony too. I was sweating up a storm. I felt like I had jogged 2 miles. I stayed longer than Kelly and got to watch my neice take Grand Champion for her riding. That was awesome. She did a great job.

My scale was up to 213.6 today. Go figure. All I can think is it is mid-cycle, ovulation time. Maybe my body is hanging on to stuff in case it sends an egg that gets fertilized. HAH!! I'm going to research and see if this is a monthly pattern or not. I need some answers.

Wardhog- You know they are going to get you teaching that class, one way or another. Going to a pool would be heavenly right now. It is :cool: hot!! I think your meal sounds yummy, except I don't eat fish. Throw some chicken on and I'd be there.

Mindy, that's so cool about your niece. I think it's a great idea to track your weights and compare to your cycle. I am sure there is a trend there.

Yesterday I did Firm Body Sculpt at home. That is a brutal workout. The ILs are here, but I stayed on plan. Ok, one day down and six to go. My husband is taking the day off today, so I will have plenty of gym time. I am planning to do Group Ride and more cardio.

Wardhog- I have found that it seems to be a monthly trend. Around the 1st (ovulation) I go up a bit, then down. After TOM I go down some too. I just feel that I have done more gaining than losing this summer.I just keep going up and down. I haven't made much progress at all. It just gets very frustrating. I eat 1300-1400 calories, most days and workout, most days. It should come off easier than this. Today I was 214, up from 211.6 last Friday. In the big picture it's not much of a gain, but it's not a loss either.

Good luck with the IL's being there. My daughter is moving home from college today. That will be different having her back home. She usually is home for the summer, but this summer she stayed to finish up a few classes. We'll see what the future holds for her now.

Susie- I know you're busy. Hope you can stop in soon.
Foucault and Kelly- Haven't heard from you in a while. How are things going?

Tom. is weigh-in. Needless to say, I am not looking forward to it.

I am missing you all!

Susie--You sound like you are working yourself to the bone! I hope your weigh in tonight (or are you out of town?) goes well. There's no reason it shouldn't!

Wardhog--Good luck with the inlaws. That is always a tough time. Sounds like you are still a working machine even though they are in town.

Mindy--Your body just sucks sometimes. You work so hard, every day, eat great, every day, and there is very little reward. But, just remember what you told me the other are now wearing size medium shirts, and whether you believe it or not, your butt is shrinking every time I see you;).

I am still maintaining, although I am seeing the top of my 3 pound range more frequently than the bottom of the range lately. But, it is ok! My last class ends on Monday, and I will be starting back up with my workouts and eating plan. I would like to lose 5 pounds by the time I go back to school on August 18. Sept 2 when the kids start at the latest. I will prevail!!! And, guess what, Mindy, I am dragging you along with me kicking and screaming! We will be in much better shape when we are together again!!

Hey Kelly! It sounds like you have a great plan for jumping right back into exercising.

I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio today. Eating is on plan so far, but tonight is the dinner with all of our parents. I am making "the best dessert ever" and I will probably have some. I am not stressing over going off plan, but I don't want to binge. I'll check in tomorrow and let you know how I did. :)

Well weigh-in was today and I expected a gain. I was at 213, down a pound from yesterday but up 1.4 for this week. Yep, needless to say my body is wierd and doesn't do what I want it to do. I went to a park last night and walked around the pond twice, 40 min. Tonight I did WATP for 2 miles, 30 Min. I am not going to kill myself anymore, since it doesn't seem to matter. We'll see what the next few days hold.

Kelly- As we talked about on Friday, I am just relaxing a little this week to see what happens. I'll be ready to start up with you when you start.

Wardhog- Enjoy the dinner and a small dessert. It's great that you are getting all that time to workout, even with the in-laws around.

See ya tom. By the way, my daughter moved home yesterday from college. We went to the fair today, and she showed my neices pony. I love having her home, just not all her stuff which is all over the house. :p

Well girls, all I can is, what? All week long I gained slowly from 211.6 to 214. Then Friday went down to 213 and today down to 211.4. I really think it has to do with ovulation time and I'm going to see if it does the same thing next month. Now I just hope it goes a little lower over the next two weeks before TOM arrives. Wierd, is all I can say. Tonight I am doing my 3FC 5K. I am just waiting for dinner to settle before heading out. I had a grilled steak and pasta salad. It wasn't that good actually.

Hi Ladies,

I just read everyones post for the week. It looks like you all are doing well and maintaining. My meeting went well. It was a lot of work but was worth it in the end. I know that I impressed a lot of people in my work group because of the way that things we but they put it, flawlessly. It also was a really good boost for my carreer because I met a lot of our Thought Leaders and they had such good things to say about the way things we handled for the meeting and their travel. I enjoy putting meetings together and I hope to have the opportunity to do more. I don't want them to take over my life like this one did but now that I have one under my belt it should be better the next time.

I'm not sure where I am on the scales. I didn't get to weigh-in this week. I was out of town for my TOPS meeting. I'll miss this weeks meeting too, as my hubby and I are on vacation and we will be in Indiana on Thursday and Friday. BUT, I'm not using it as an excuse to get off plan.

I didn't get to work out like I liked to last week, but I'll get back to it tomorrow. Today I cleaned house like a mad woman so I'm counting it as my workout.

Hubby and I went to see the Mamma Mia was so good!

I got on the scales this morning at home and they said 276 which is what I weighed in at TOPS 2 weeks ago, so I have maintained through the craziness. I thought it would be a good idea to get on the scales this morning so I can keep track on things until my weigh-in at TOPS next week. Not really concerned if the numbers are the same, just concerned with seeing them go down when I weigh myself at home on Thursday morning and then the next Thursday morning before my TOPS meeting.

I am making another committment to myself using a website called stickk. My committment is to stay in my points range every day to ensure that I loose 15 lbs by the time I go my Admin conference in San Antonio in October. It's October 4-8th.

If any of you want to be my supporters on this website let me know. What it would entail is a email address from you and you signing up at the website so that you can go in and check on me to see how I'm doing. Of course you are going to hear about it hear as well, but the website really gives an accountability factor. I have a friend who has agreed to be my refree.

I hope everyone is having a great on-plan weekend. I'm looking forward to your posts.

I had a very good day yesterday with my food. I was on plan and feel ready to do the same again today. I didn't exercise yesterday but I'm getting ready to go to the gym here in just a few minutes. I'm off work this week so I'm going to go and workout early. I'm thinking that maybe I can talk my hubby into taking another walk this evening. We like to do that about 8:30 p.m. when it's cooler.

How's everyone else doing?

I thought I had posted yesterday, but, I guess not. You guys know me and my queer body. Well after gaining all week I was down to 213, then 211.4, then on Sunday, 210. What??? Now today I am at 210.8. Like I said, QUEER!!

I did two 5k's this weekend. The first on Sat. clocked in at 47 min, with a lot of jogging. Then I did 4 miles yesterday in an hour. I too do mine in the evening around 7:30 or 8:00. Even then I come home soaking wet. I don't think there was a dry spot on my shirt.

Susie- You keep up the hard work. Just try to get in some exercise while you're on vacay. There is always good ole walking. Have fun and enjoy.

Everyone else, stop in and let us know what you are up to. Kelly- I know your class is over today so I am interested in what you are going to do now.

I spent the day at the Zoo and walked and walked and walked. That's got to be good for me. It wasn't cardio walking but it was movement and standing for almost 5 hours.

I didn't overeat but I didn't eat well. Breakfast was a doughnut and a glass of milk, lunch was a piece of pizza, water and then a small ice cream cone. Trying to make up for that at dinner tonight.

Yesterday I ate on plan and also had a good cardio workout. I did 30 min on the ellipetical, going 2 miles and then 30 min on the recumbunt (sp?) bike, going 6 miles.

Tomorrow I'm at home and then Thursday and Friday we will be gone. I have a workout planned with my workout partner tomorrow.

Mindy: Look at you..doing two 5 k's! That's awesome!! and what good news at the scales.

Ward: Hope things are going well with the in-laws.

Kelly: Is your on-line class over with?

Hi all! Yay! My class is finally over and I can breathe again. The last two days I have been trying to get back on track, because I maintained for so long, then the last week crept up a couple pounds. I went up to 201.5 for a couple days, but am back down to 200 today. I would like to get down to 195 by the start of school on Sept. 2. My eating has been much better the last two days although I am having trouble counting my calories since we went out to dinner. That is my biggest downfall. Although, I stuck with some cottage cheese, tilapia, and broccoli for dinner tonight at the restaurant we went to. I tried to eat the healthiest thing I could find on the menu. I am going to try to work out tonight. It is so hard for me to get back in the swing of working out again. I just hate being sweaty. Apparently I am too prissy:D! But, I will get back on the wagon. Tomorrow I am having lunch with Mindy and another friend from school, so hopefully I'll be able to avoid the bread at the table and maybe just order a salad.

Glad to see everyone doing so well. I hope to be checking in more often, now!

My computer has been giving me fits lately and making it impossible to post. I hope I get this to work. I've been kind of lazy and eating more than I should the last few days. My scale is up a bit to 211.8. I am planning a nice long walk/jog tonight and a very light dinner.

Kelly- I promise I will give you a call if I hit any more milestones. I am glad to see you are getting back on track with eating. I will have to step it up to keep up with you. Let's lose some more ugly fat.

Susie- Good job working out. Hope you do a lot of walking while you are away. Keep up the good work.

I had a very good on plan day today. I stayed within my points and I had a great 1 hr cardio workout. I did 30 min on the eliptical and I beat my 2 mile time today by 2 min. I felt great about that. Then I went for a nice 30 min walk around the college campus.

I will be offline until Saturday as we are leaving for a short trip to Indianapolis tomorrow.

I am determined that I will not overeat when we are away. I've learned that when it's breakfast, lunch and supper time that I enjoy my food so much more if I'm not overstuffed from snacking. I'm going to focus on how good my meals will taste when I do eat them but only if I don't eat junk before.

It's good to see you back Kelly and I know you can get to 195 before school starts.

Mindy, it looks like you have yourself back on track..good job.

I'll talk to you all on Saturday. Stay strong!

Since I was able to get online this morning I will post now. Reported a slight loss this week. Was 213 last week, down to 212.4 today. I had been much lower this week, even down to 210. But this is where I'm at now. I need to get really back on track. I didn't journal for the last 2 days and missed a couple of workouts. So, today I am back at it 100%. Now I do have a lunch date with a friend so I will have to be very careful what I choose. I would really like to be under 210 when school starts. That is a very attainable goal and I am going to make it. :carrot:

Hi you guys! The ILs are gone and so is the binge eating. I fell WAY off the wagon, but things are back to normal now. I put on a few pounds but hopefully they'll be gone in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Everyone,

We got back last night around 8:00 P.M. I was very tired. It's good to be home.

I did watch the some of the openning cermony of the Olympics--until USA came in and then I typed the rest of it and went to bed. I watched the rest of it this afternoon. It was really cool, especially the lighting of the tourch. Is anyone else watching the Olympics?

I got my house cleaned today, laundry finished and everything back in order. I also just got done paying my bills so personally I'm caught up with things. My plan tomorrow is church, a nap, go for a walk, write a couple of letters, journal, check my work email and clean out the junk and organize it so I know what I want to tackle first when I get into the office on Monday instead of spending a couple of hours going through email and catching up from vacation.

This will be a busy week with getting back to the office after being out all last week, and my cousin is getting married on Saturday. I'm singing at the wedding and I'm also the "wedding planner" so about Thursday night I expect things to be crazy.

I'm determined I will not allow myself to be stressed with all this going on--I get that way if I feel overwhelmed--and if I do start feeling that way I will find ways to deal with it..ways that do not include overeating. I'm telling myself right now that if I sit down to eat, it won't help be get anything done and I'll still feel overwhelmed because I put myself that far behind by eating.

Mindy: How did your lunch with your friend go?

Ward: Good to see you back and I could tell from your post that you are glad the IL's are gone and you can get back to your routine.
You asked if my trip was business or pleasure. It was pleasure but it was a bit stressful. We went out of town with a couple of friends for a couple of days and they took their grandaughter. She lives with them. She's 5 and a lot of fun but she also requires a lot of energy and so I found myself not relaxing as much as I would have liked to. But it was fun to see some of the zoo, and other places that we visited in Indianapolis through her eyes, so I guess it was a trade off.

I'm such a routine person, I'm glad to be getting back to work and my life.'s late..I"m going to get some sleep, see you all tomorrow.

Hey girls! This has been a crazy week. Our internet went down due to phone line problems. Called and asked about DSL again. They said it is now available. We have spent 3 days trying to get it set up. Today, BINGO!! It is working, and it is fast. I can't get the pictures working though, but I'll figure it out.

Bad new, my stupid scale is up again, to somewhere between 213 and 215. I don't know because it gave me too many answers. What the heck? I even walk/jogged 4 miles yesterday. Whatever!

Wardhog- Glad you're back to normal at your house.

Susie- Sounds like vacation was fun. We are watching some of the olypmics at our house. It is always fun. Well i have a lot of catching up to do online, so I am going to get with it. But, you guys were first.

Well, I didn't get my walk in today. I just ran out of time. It's ok--I told myself that I get this day to relax and then tomorrow I"m up and moving again.

My food is good. I don't know if you all know but I'm not a big meat eater. I eat a little of it but I just don't like it, this includes any type of animal protein. So, I'm always looking for ways to get more protein into my diet, it seems that when I do, I loose weight more easily and I just feel better. But for me, it's so hard to eat animal protein, I get to thinking what it is and it just grosses me out. Anyway I found a pasta today that has 17 grams of protein in it per cup. I was pretty excited about that so I bought it and fixed it for dinner with a little bit of red sauce and a side salad and it was really good and I don't feel weighed down by the pasta.

I'm a bit surprised to find myself reading labels but I am. Not always but more than I did. It's small changes that are important don't you think?

Mindy: I'm glad to hear that your back online and I hope you don't have anymore trouble. It's too bad you can't get DSL.
I just don't understand why the scale goes up and down like that for you but don't get discourged, you know that when you keep working at it it will go back down again.

Ward: Looks like you are right back on it. Is your daughter excited about school? How will your daily routine change with her back in school?

Today I did Group Power and 35 min of cardio. I am feeling very tired, not just because we got up earlier, but just like, "Gah - I have no idea how I'm going to get through this squat track." Ah well, maybe a rest day is in order. Eating is on plan.

My daughter was really excited about school. She was ready to go with her backpack on and everything at least 20 min before it was time for the bus to come. It is so quiet here with just my son and me. Well, quieter, I should say. :lol:

How was your workout today, Susie?

Mindy, I am sorry your scale is not cooperating. I know it's frustrating, but just try to think of the big picture, ok? :hug:

Today my eating was on plan, even if it did include a slice of my hubby's bannana nut bread. I also did 25 min on the treadmill at a 3.4 mph speed, going 1.32 miles and 25 min on the ellipitical for 1.50 miles.

I had planned on doing some weights but it was late when I got to the Y so I just did my cardio and then came home.

My workouts make me feel so good.

Ward: I hope your energy returns. I'm glad that your daughter likes school, it's so stressful when they don't want to go.

Mindy: Was looking forward to your post...maybe your computer is not working again?

Kelly: Have you gotten back into your exercise program?

Focult: How are you doing?

Okay girls. I AM BACK, AGAIN. Yep, we got the DSL going on Sunday and then Monday my computer pooped out. I took it in today and they fixed it pretty quickly. It needed a new power supply. This is a momentous occassion at my house. My son is in his room, online, my daughter in the living room, online with her laptop and me on mine. Yikes!!! We are now technilogically advanced. It has been a crazy day of running around and making phone calls and just stuff. I am ready for a workout now.

The scale was done a bit today from 214 to 213. I hope it keeps going in that direction. I know I have mentioned my bathroom issues, you know how I have to go as soon as I start getting further from home. Well last night I came up with a solution that worked pretty good. I headed out down one street and went a 1/2 mile and then back. Then I went up the other street 1/2 mile and back, until I had done all 4 intersecting roads, so I did a total of 4 mile but was never more than 1/2 mile from home at any point. Pretty good idea. Plus i got to see a lot of different scenery and avoided most of the awful hills.

I have signed up for an official 5k in Sept. It is at a local festival called "Frontier Days". It is in honor of an 11 year old girl who died of ovarian cncer. Imagine that. Only 11 and died of ovarian cancer. So I will be racing for a good cause also. I will of course do the 3fatchicks race in Sept also.

Wardhog- Enjoy the quiet. They have a way of coming back and causing commotion. Gotta admit, I love it.

Susie- Good job being on plan and getting those workouts in. :cool:

Kelly- Come on girl. We go back to school very soon. I know you want to drop a few pounds. Get crackin.

Hi Ladies,

I believe that you all have helped turn me into a bonified health nut. :p and I love it! I feel so great these days. It's so wonderful to feel fit because I'm moving, to feel myself get to a zone with exercise, to be paying attention to what i'm eating and realizing i'm making choices because I want to feel good. There's one other reason I think I'm officially a health nut. Here's a funny story.

Tonight I had my FIRM class. That's the class that is 45 min of cardio and 30 min of weight training. I lOVE this class. It's hard for me to make it though because I have to leave work on time and also not run into traffic--I drive 35-40 min each way to work every day-well, tonight I got out of work just a bit late but thought that's ok, I will only be 5 min late. Well, there was a bit of a traffic jam, and I thought, if I could only be in my workout clothes when I get there I won't be more than 7-10 min late, so while I was sitting in traffic I figured out a way to change from my work clothes to my workout clothes and not cause a bigger traffic jam!

I had worn a skirt to work so I put on my exercise shorts and then slipped the skirt off. Next I pulled put on my tank top around my neck and then I slipped my arms out of my blouse and then my bra. I removed my bra, then pulled the tank top down and unbuttoned the shirt and pulled it off...then I had to figure out how to get my job bra on under the tank top, so I just put it around my neck, took my arms out of the tank top, slipped my arms in the job bra, put my arms back in the tank top and pulled everything in place.

Now, if that's not dedicaiton to a workout I don't know what is!

After class I did a 30 min walk on the college campus.

Food is on plan but I did have the Slim-a-bear fudge bar tonight.

Ward: What is the stairmill machine? Good job on all your cardio today.

Kelly: Did you get any exercise in? I know it won't be long until you are back on your plan in full fource.

Mindy: Good to see you back online. That's cool that you are training for another 5k. to get things ready for work tomorrow. Keep working hard everyone.

Mindy, I'm glad you got your computer fixed. An official 5k is very exciting - will you run the whole race? And how sad that an 11 year old had ovarian cancer. I have never thought about it happening to someone so young.

Today I did back to back classes - Group Ride, then Group Power. (This pretty much kills me.) Eating will be on plan. I still can't shake the couple pounds I picked up. Just have to keep going, keep going.

Had a pretty good on plan day. I was hungry tonight so I had an extra helping of salad..I find that funny.

Saw some old friends tonight who haven't seen me in about a year...they kept talking about the weight I have lost. I guess the exercise is making me look smaller. It was nice to hear and it keeps motivating me.

Tonight I did 20 min on the bike, rode 4.40 miles, 20 min weight training and a 30 min walk on the campus.

Tomorrow is TOPS weigh-in..I hope the scales show my effort.

Ward: Keep working at it and those lbs will be back off soon

I found myself eating bugs tonight, after it bit my tongue. Yep, it bit me during my walk/jog. ICK!! I did 2.7 miles. It seemed pretty fast, but I didn't time it. Kelly and her girls are going to start the race with me. There is a 1 mile family walk route and the 5kers continue on. So you guys have to root for us.

Kelly- Get that stroller out and do a couple laps around the block. We are in training girl. Do I need to come hunt you down? Don't make me. :cool:

Wardhog- Don't kill yourself. It probably felt good though. I know your few pounds will be gone before you know it. TOM arrived early today and I have lost 2 pounds in the last 2 days. Gotta keep this going and figure out how to not gain it back. I'm tired of the up down.

Susie- Can't even imagine changing my clothes in the car. That is hysterical. Youe keep it up girl. Just be careful changing your clothes in public.

Today I jogged 2 mi (22 min), did Group Ride, and then 30 min on the stair mill. It's kind of like a treadmill, only you climb stairs instead of walk or run. This is what is looks like -

Ward: That machine looks SCARY! I've done stair climbers before and it looks similar. There is no way I could climb stairs for 30 min. You are my IDOL!

Wardhog- I'm assuming the stairs move, like an escalator. You could do that challenge on the Biggest Loser, you know where they have to climb the escalator. I'd probably fall off the bottom. I really need to join a gym so I can experience all these fun things. I woulk like to try a rowing machine. Watching the rowing on the olympics, it looks like fun. And a total body workout, arms, abs, legs.

Tom. is my weigh-in. I am hopng for good news. The scale has gone down everyday for the past 3, so I hope for a little more by tom. During TOM is when I seem to lose the most, so, here's hoping. I bought new cross trainers today. My old shoes have really taken a beating over the last several months.
I tried on running shoes, but they didn't seem sturdy enough. Well, I have to go workout yet tonight.

:carrot:I did it! Finally!:woohoo: I worked out tonight for the first time in almost 8 weeks. I can't believe I let it lapse that long. Oh well, I have to move on from here. It felt good, and I plan to do it again tomorrow.

Wardhog, that stairmill looks scary! I would probably last about 20 seconds and not be able to lift my legs anymore!

Mindy--you will be down tomorrow, I just feel it. Probably to 211. You'll let me know at lunch tomorrow, I know.

Susie--you are very inspirational with your workouts. I wish I had that much dedication. Love the changing clothes in the car story! I used to change my clothes in the car all the time when I was in college. I would have to change out of street clothes and into my uniform to work at a hotel. Never did it driving, though--you are brave! Good luck with tonight's weigh has been a few weeks since you have had one, hasn't it?

Your are not going to believe this! When I went to TOPS last night we couldn't get into the church annex where our meeting is usually held and where our scales are kept so we couldn't weigh!

I know I was going to be down. My last weigh-in was 2 weeks ago and I was at 276, the doctor scales in the locker room at the gym said 274 yesterday when I weighed at lunch, so I"m sure I would have been that at TOPS..same kind of scale. Oh well..just have to wait until next week for an offical weight; I was disappointed because I wanted to see the number..but I know it was down and I feel so good!

Today I"m working from home. Getting a lot done. I have my cousins wedding this week...rehearsal is tonight. I'm singing the songs that she wants me to sing for her and Kevin tonight so that they can hear them. I'm signing them at the cermony before the wedding starts. I told her I didn't think I could sing them with them there looking at me...I would cry...I'm such a romantic!

I hope to go to the Y before I have to get ready for rehersal dinner.

Mindy: I hope those scales were nice to you! I need to get some new shoes too. What did you get?

Ward: How's the day going for you?

Kelly: YEAH for you and your workout yesterday. Cant' wait to hear what you did today.

TGIF! The gym was a bit less crowded today. ;) I did Group Power and 45 min cardio. Eating is on plan, and I was down to 127.4 this morning. Still up some, but back under the red line, so I am satisfied with that.

Honestly, the stair machine is not easy, but I didn't start at 30 minutes, either. I think I started with 8 minutes and worked my way up (still on level 6). And yes, the stairs move up like an escalator and you just climb (and climb).

I need to go on a show called The Biggest Maintainer! Well, it's a good idea other than it would be so boring that no one would watch and it never ends. Weekly weigh-in: the same! :woohoo: Sorry, I am being silly. I can't wait until the next season of TBL starts - in about a month, right?

Susie, bummer about the weigh-in. You'll have twice the loss to look forward to next week, though. :)

Kelly, I am glad to hear your workout felt good. Are you still feeling good today? ;)

Oh how I wish Kelly had been right. Nope!! 211.6 yesterday, 212 today. And I thought I would be down because I only weighed 213.4 before bed. I figured I'd lose a couple of #'s. I just don't understand how to get my body to do what I want. I may never figure it out. I have only lost 6 pounds for the entire summer. I just go up and down. I am so tired of it. I am going to go walk/jog my butt off and see if that helps.

Susie- Sorry you couldn't weigh-in. I'm sure it will be super good next week. Keep it up. I get Avia's when I buy shoes. I have wide feet and they fit well. I tried on running shoes, but I didn't get enough support. So I opted for cross trainers. They seem very comfortable.

Wardhog- Maybe you could be on a show like "workout". People who work their bodies into tip top shape. That could be interesting. Like that 41 year old swimmer in the olympics. Man the body on that girl is amazing and she trains like a machine. Kind of like you.:dizzy:

Kelly- So happy to hear you worked out. DO it again. :carrot: We have that 5k or 1k to do. Gotta get in shape.

I hope you ran off some of your frustration last night. At least you didn't gain 6 pounds over the summer, so you are making progress.

Wardhog- I did run off some frustration. I did 3.1 miles (5K) in 49 min. Tonight I did 2 miles in 32 min. Not too shabby. Today the scale went from 212 to 211.2. Here's a wierd thing. In the middle of the day today it said 210.8. I am hoping it says something good tomorrow. I have been out in the yard all day today, plus my workout, so we'll see.

You know Dara has two coaches, 2 massage therapists, a deep tissue manipulator and a strength trainer. Maybe I could look like that too if I had a whole team helping me. Want to go in on that with me? :dizzy:

Ack! Sorry I've been MIA again.

My living situation has gotten hairy. My boyfriend and I live in an apartment. The girl next door is doing some very shady stuff that I'm sure is illegal. It's pretty obvious what's going on over there, but we're reluctant to call the police because she has a huge parade of strange and thug-like men that come and go at all hours. I definitely don't want three of them knocking on my door because they think I contacted the police. Anyway, I've been stressing out over the situation like crazy. I'm not happy here, and I can't live next to her any longer. Over the past two or three weeks, I've investigated several other apartment complexes and tried to move things around budget-wise to see what we can afford. Finally, I have a bit of resolution. We're moving on the 29th of this month, and the new place is fantastic. I've already begun packing.

My weight loss goal and exercise has been on the back-burner the past two weeks. I'm just not sleeping well and sometimes I'm so sick of the situation that I can't even eat. I stepped on the scale last Wednesday, and I was at 197.5. I was 196.5 this morning, but it isn't my official weigh-in, so I'm not counting it. I'd love to be 195 by the end of the month, and I'd definitely love to be under 190 by the end of September.

I plan to come back and catch up on how everyone's been doing over the past few weeks when I have more time. Until then!

Foucault- Glad you stopped in. That is pretty much the reason I moved out the country a few years ago. The neighborhood was going downhill and driving me crazy. Plus we had a horse that we wanted to have at our own place. I was lucky enough to be able to buy a house on 2 acres. Now the frogs and crickets, plus the train, are my neighbors. Hope you make your goals.

Wardhog- you certainly move your fanny on the treadmill. :woops:

My scale was back down to 210.4 today. I am really hoping it goes lower and I don't gain it back this time. I want under 210. PLEASE!!! I have worked hard the last couple of days, so hopefully it will pay off.

Hi Ladies,

The wedding went was beautiful and a lot of fun at that reception. So much fun that me and one of my cousin's split 2 bottles of wine. I DON"T even want to think about how many calories we had..but we did dance from 9:00 p.m. until about 2:30 a.m., so hopefully we worked it off?

I did well with food...who wants to eat after all that wine? I was to tired to go for my walk today (I'm blaming the wine) and so I slept a lot today, I also drank a lot of water.

Tomorrow I'm back on track. But all in all I'm feeling very good about my progress.

I had hoped to do personals tonight but I'll have to catch up tomorrow. It was good to read everyone's posts.

One quick personal...Ward: I can just see you in that bikini at the grocery, the school, the bank..pumping gas..and girl you look GOOD! I think you should go for it.

Mindy--Congrats on being back down to 210! I knew it would happen again soon. Let's hope it continues down now that we are back at work tomorrow. We'll see if it helps being back on routine!

I'm proud of myself so far, three out of the last four days I have worked out. One day I did WATP 30 min, another day I played tennis with my husband, brother in law and sister in law for at least an hour, and tonight I walked with my sister in law for about 40 minutes. I am looking so forward to working out with Mindy again!! I have a feeling tomorrow's workout will be moving furniture, cleaning, and helping Mindy move! I'm sure I will be sore the next day!

Hi Ladies,

I had a pretty good on track day except for two large handfuls of M&M's that I found in the cabinet. My hubby tried to hide them but I swear I can smell them. I've asked him to take them to work...they are one of my addicitive foods.

I had a good workout tonight. 30 min on the Eliptical and I hit 2 miles at 27 min! Two weeks ago it was taking me 30 min to do that, so I'm shaving some time off and then for a 30 min walk.

My tooth is bothering me tonight...not sure why. I'm going to take some tylenol and head to bed.

Ward: Sounds like you are back in normal workout form....have you lost what you gained when the in-laws were here?

Kelly: You are on a roll with the exercise..keep it up!

Hi Ladies,

I'm about to leave work and tonight when I get home I have some things to do and I was afraid I wouldn't get a chance to post so I'm doing it now before I leave from work.

I've had a great, on-plan day with food and I'm determined I will keep it up. I'm getting ready to do my workout. My FIRM class was cancelled tonight so my workout partner and I are going to do 30 min of cardio, then weights and then 30 more min of cardio.

Ward: If you would like to tell us your first name it would be nice..but no pressure.

Mindy: Oh yeah!! I heard you...209.4...sure heard it...:bravo::cp::hat::cheer3::cheer2::coach:
I'm sure that you will get into the new routine can take awhile with changes.

I'm dealing with some changes at work too. Just found out about them yesterday..have no idea how the outcome will be...but I must deal and move on. My job is not in danger, just changes.

209 flat today. WOW!! I have a feeling it is going to go up tom. though. We'll see. I jogged a full mile straight tonight. :carrot: Then I did some kickboxing. Needless to say, I am proud of myself for running the mile. I even had to go up 3 hills. Sometimes these accomplishments are better than the weight.

Tyring to get settled at work. It is really difficult this year. There are so many things changing. Not just with my position, but within the district and other things in our building. Yikes!! Hope to get a bunch done tom.

Susie- Hope your workout went well.

Ward - I'm always so focused no my goal that I forget about the task of maintaining the loss once I reach it. You're doing a great job with that seeing as how you're still ramped up on the working out. That stair master looks like a monster. I bet you can feel the burn in your legs after some time on it.

Mindy - 209! That's fantastic! I hope your weigh-in today goes just as well. If not, then you'll definitely see a loss, and that's a great thing. You'll bee seeing the 190s before you know it!

Susie - You story about changing on your way to work out crack me up. :-) That really is dedication to your new way of life. I just hope you didn't inadvertently flash any of your fellow drivers. ;-)

Kelly - Glad to hear you've slugged through those classes and gotten back on track with working out. Once I get out of the groove of working out every day, it is so hard to get back in it.

I'm doing as well as can be expected with all the turmoil. Work is very busy, and I've been spending all of my free time packing and cleaning. We're moving on the 29th and 30th, so I have a little over a week to wrap things up. I haven't exercised any this week, but I'm going to get back into the swing of things after the move next week. I hope. I've already scoped out a park that is a little over half a mile away from the new place. There is also a wonderful walking/jogging trail just across the street. All the moving around and packing much be doing something for me, though. I was down to 195.5 this morning. My body looooves to stop on the half pound. It makes my tickers sad because one of them can't recognize half pounds.

I have been having a good week food wise and exercise. I did have some pizza tonight. Hubby and I were both really tired from work and the week so we ordered a pizza. I sort of feel bad about how much I had--knowing how high in calories pizza can be, but I'm skipping my "sweet treat" that I usually have after dinner--trying to compromise here. It was most likely not a good idea to have pizza the night before my weigh-in...looks like salad for lunch tomorrow.

Tonight I did 30 min on the eliptical-2.25 miles, 30 min weight training for lower body (worked upper body yesterday) and then 30 min walk around the campus. Felt good.

Ward:How did your day go? You know I was thinking the other day that you work as hard at maintenance as I do at loosing...I guess it really never stops does it? That's ok..I like this healthy feeling over the other feeling.

Mindy: Good for you for running a mile...that's just awesome and I agree sometimes those types of successes are as good as the lower number on the scale.

Focult: Hope that things settle down for you soon. That's going to be great to have that walking trail right by where you live.

Kelly: How are you doing with the exercise? to go and get a few things done before collasping in bed. I'm really tired tonight.

Hey guys! I think I have forgotten to update the last couple of days. On Tuesday I did Group Ride and 52 min of cardio. Yesterday I did Group Ride (again) plus Group Power. Today another Group Ride class is on the agenda, plus whatever cardio I have time for. Eating has been on plan, but the extra pounds are still here! :devil:

Susie, I have been browsing through the Maintenance forum and it seems like most people there have discovered that they do the same things to maintain that they did to lose. It really does have to be a lifestyle shift. "Going off the diet" means gaining weight back.

Mindy, congratulations on 209! Fantastic result.

Foucault, hang in there. You will be all moved and back to regular exercise before you know it.

I did not get a chance to log on yesterday. I also didn't get in to work either. We were having a trench dug throught the yard to put in a water line to our barn. Needless to say, it took alot longer than expected and threw the whole day off. Now I have a nice long hole in my yard and a mess. Hope to get that finished up in the next few days. Weight is holding right around 209-210. Did get in a 2 mile walk last night.

Foucault- I hate moving. Hope it all goes well for you and you get settled quickly. Moving will certainly get you some exercise.

Susie- Hope that the finally here weigh-in goes well. You have to have lost this time. Tell us all about it tom.

Wardhog- Funny how I was just telling someone at work that I work out everyday and it just becomes part of your daily routine and always will be. I started a new book "Thin for Life" The first chapter is about being ready to lose and changing our mindset. This isn't aa diet, it is a new lifestyle.

Just wanted to stop really quick. Workouts are just OK. I only managed 3 days out of the last week, but I guess it is better than 0. Maybe this next week will have more! I forgot how busy life gets when you go to work and then add life in after work!

Well today was weigh-in and did I get a shock. I was 208. I've never seen that number. Hope I can keep it. I am going to change my ticker, because it is Friday. :carrot: Just finished my 3 mile walk/jog and man was it tough. It is HOT and MUGGY here. Made it home just in time to hear thunder heading our way. YIKES!!

Kelly- Don't worry. We'll get you going here real soon. Remember, we have that 5k or 1k to do.

Wardhog- You are doing a good job maintaining. Hope to join you there in the future. I have a min-goal of getting under 200 by Oct. 31. Help keep me accountable.

Well ladies, it was another crazy weigh-in night at TOPS. AGAIN the building we meet in was locked. One of our members has a doctors scales at her house and she lives around the corner from the church we meet in so we walked over there and weighed and her scales showed me up 2 lbs! I couldn't believe it. I felt hurt, mad, depressed.

So what did I do? I left the meeting and went to the Zumba class that I've been wanting to start taking again. It was a good way to work off that frustration.

I don't know if that was a true gain or not, I guess we will see next week and we will get in the building next week. I took matters into my own hands yesterday and got hold of the church and now I have a key and it works...I tried it 7 times---and I'll have it with me at all times. I guess our leaders key was a new key and it didn't work, then they gave her another key and she didn't try it and it didn't work..sometimes new keys do that..but I have a key that works and I got one for our leader and tested it and now she has one that works so we should be good to go.

It was so hard not to binge eat after that weigh-in. You know how hard I work out and I'm really watching my points and such. Some days I'm over but other days I'm not.

So, ladies...from now on..for a while you will all see my daily food and points as well as my workout times and miles logged. It will help me to really tow the line by putting it out there for you all to see.

I will admit that since Thursday night I haven't written anything down...I was rebelling, but where is that going to get me? I wasn't overeating but I was thinking, why the effort? it's not getting me where I want to be and it takes a bit of time to do that every day and I'm a busy woman! Well, I am busy, but I also am a woman who wants to see myself under 200 lbs by this time next year and I've got to do what I need to do to get there.

Mindy: I'm so happy for you to see 208 on the scales. You are working so hard. Keep it up.

Kelly: to go from 0 days of exercise to 3 days is a great start..just use it as a building block.

Ward: I'm glad that scales went down for you. Don't worry, you will get back to where you were before the IL visit. You speak of binging. I used to be a huge binger. I don't do it as much anymore or as often. If I do binge they are smaller binges but I still wish I didn't do that. Any advice? to get the house clean and then to the grocery with my hubby. I usually let him do all the food shopping because he likes to do it and he does most of the cooking, but I want to get a couple new jog old ones are really old and with all the extra workouts I need a couple of new ones too. I bought 3 about 4 months ago and I'm getting rid of 4 that I've had for way to long so I'll buy 4. The last ones I bought at Walmart and they are holding up well, so I'll just get them there again.

I can't believe no one was here on Sunday? Where is everyone?
I was recovering from a 24 hr stomach bug. I guess that's one way to reduce calorie intake.

Due to the stomach bug I didn't really keep track of points yesterday.
I might switch from points to calories due to the fact that I learned my work has an online tracking system that we can use and if I use it for 3 months I get $80 towards my Health Care account, I think that's a pretty good's $80 less out of my pocket.

Today at lunch I did a 20 min workout on the ski machine and a 20 min workout on the bike.

So far today I have had a ceral bar, a Power bar and a sugar free jello. I have an apple to eat on the way home so I'm not starved when I get there.

How's everyone else doing?

Susie- Man I want to work where you do. You have a gym, $$$ for good health practices. Sweet!! Sorry you weren't feeling well. Hope it's better now. You are certainly planned for the day, even down to the apple for the ride home.

Where is everybody else?? I just finished my workout. I walked a mile, then ran 1.5 more. I could have gone further. I think I'm becoming a runner. What happened? Scale is hanging out around 208-209. So far, so good.

Good morning! Everyone seems to be doing so well.

Saturday I did Group Ride and some cardio. Sunday I did about 4.2 mi total - walked the first one, then ran the rest. Yesterday I did Group Power and some cardio. My stomach was hurting from all the bad food on Sunday. I stayed on the eating plan yesterday and I slept much better and feel much better today. Will I ever learn? :sigh: Today's plan is for Group Ride and some cardio. I am not sure how much because I am supposed to have a play date with my son and a friend.

I am happy to report that I was under my point range yesterday. I know that I should be in it but it won't hurt to be under sometimes in case I go over sometimes. My plan is to always be in it.

So, yesterday I had 28 points and I did 40 min of cardio at the work gym and then hubby and I took a 30 min walk last night. He tried to talk me into staying home but I told him I would go without him so he decided to go.

Today we have a company lunch, I'm going to have to be careful. It's Chinese food and I love least I only do the veggies. There will be cake to but I might skip that.

Last night I had a great victory; I usually want something sweet after dinner or even if I don't I'll have it anyway but last night I didn't want it and I just didn't have it.

Mindy: I think you are becoming a runner as well. That is just so cool. Keep it up. I would love to run but there is no way my bladder will let me. After my hyst it has dropped a little, I do ok as long as I don't bounce. One day I'll have to get it fixed but my doctors say not to do it until I have to, it could make my IC worse.

Ward: What an adorable little girl. That party looked like fun.
I totally understand your comment about bad food hurting your stomach. That could have been some of my problem on Sunday. I had a lot of "fried" things and I'm just not used to that anymore...I wonder sometimes if I'll ever learn but then I know I am, I don't do it as often as I used to.

Kelly - You're doing better than I am if you're getting three days a week. Like you said, something is always better than nothing. And three days is about half the week, so that's great.

Ward - I love the picture of the party! Definitely a wallflower. ;-)

Mindy - Great job on the loss! I'm so happy for you cracking that 210 mark. You're quickly on your way to seeing a 1 in front of your weight.

Susie - I'm so proud of you for choosing the workout over food after your not-so-happy weigh-in. Then again, the different scales might be why you saw an increase. I hope your TOPS weigh-in this week is better.

I'm still hanging in there. The situation at the current apartment complex is still going downhill quickly. I want to get out *now*, but I still have to wait another two days after today. Uck. We're getting the key to the new place on Thursday evening, and we're moving on Friday.

My weigh-in this morning was good. I wasn't expecting anything, but I'm down to 193. I didn't think I was going to be able to make my October 31st goal of 180 a couple weeks ago, but now I think I might be able to pull it off. I have 9 weeks to lose 13 pounds. That's do-able, right?

Just came in from my jog/run. Tonight I went 1.8 miles in one stretch. That is .3 more than yesterday. I have a goal. On Sat. Kelly and I are doing that
5k. She will be walking a mile with me and her children. Then I want to run the last 2 miles. I think I might be able to do it. I did 2 sprints tonight also. They were about 200 yards and I ran as fast as I could. Talk about a feeling of accomplishment.

Wardhog- How cute. Looks like your daughter is having the time of her life. Oh how I fondly remember those days. The last party at my house involved tall, manly boys and beer. Not the same.

Susie- Here's looking forward to a good weigh-in Thursday. Gosh, it's coming fast. I guess time is flying with me back at work.

Foucault- Hope the move goes smoothly for you. Hey, even though you haven't exactly been on plan, you must be doing something right. Congrats. That seems to be a good goal for you. I want to be under 200 by the end of October. :hat: to October and reaching our goals.

Mindy-- You will walk the 1 mile with me (as I push an extra 35+ pounds of stroller and kid), then leave me in the dust as you RUN (Not walk) the rest of the 5K. You will be back before I know it!

Wardhog--I really like how you continue to stay focused on you exercise plan. No matter if you overeat, or even binge, you stay on plan with exercise. That is my downfall. Good for you!

Susie--What did you end up eating when you went for Chinese? I have a feeling my friends are going to make me eat Chinese soon, so I need to find some good stuff!

Well, I have gone out in the neighborhood to walk the last two nights. Last night I walked 1.6 miles. I thought it was closer to 2 miles, but when I clocked it in my car it was only 1.6. Tonight my plan was to do an extra lap to get up to 2 miles, and then 2 dogs chased me, so I went home after about 1.2 miles. Oh well, I guess those dogs can tell a mile away that I don't like them. I guess I'll try again tomorrow, or just stick to the treadmill.

Kelly- I will stick with you for the first mile. Just don't leave before I get back. I will try to hurry. Have you been taking the extra weight (daughter) in the stroller with you when you walk at home? I can see you running from the dogs.

Wardhog- Some workouts just get to you more than others. Tonight I did BL DVD and it was bothering one of my knees, so I took it a little easier.

I am experiencing my mid-cycle gain. I am up to 210.6. I am not going to freak out though. I am waiting for the new month and plan to see it go back down.

Kelly, when we go visit my Grandma I always bring my running stuff because she lives on a square dirt road, four miles around. But then I always chicken out of the run because I am afraid I'll be attacked by dogs. Scary!

Mindy, I am excited about your 5k on Sat. It will be the first of many, I am sure.

Susie, do you have your key ready? Is it tonight or tomorrow?

I did 4 mi on the treadmill (48 min) and then Group Ride. It's been very hot in the bike room at my gym. It doesn't take much effort to really get a drenching sweat. Eating is on plan. I don't want to weigh in tomorrow, but whatever the number is, I will update my current weight to reflect it. Time to be accountable for the poor choices I made over the week-end. Hopefully having to adjust that number upwards will keep me away from the junk food.

Funny thing happened tonight. I was not alone on my jog/walk. My ex-husband (you know the one that lives with me) went running with me. He runs faster than me but waited up at the half mile mark. Then we ran back home. However, I kept going for another mile. he said he didn't want to push it with the new shoes. HA! That was just like when my daughter went with me. She could run faster, but not as long as me.

Susie- I know you are weighing in tonight. I hope it is a real good one.

Wardhog- I am not looking forward to tomorrows weigh- in either. I know I will be up, due to that mid-cycle thing. Well, it is what it is.

I've missed you guys. I'm crazy busy again at work. I don't know if I'll ever get caught up. I just keep getting more and more to do. I'm a very organized person and so I get called on a lot for projects.

It's been a bit stressful at work, a lot of changes going on. Not sure how it's all going to look when the dust lays. I'm just working and trying to remain as I usually am.

Well, I had a very small loss at TOPS, .25lb but it was a loss so I'll take it.
I'm feeling so good about myself because I feel great, I can move so much easier, I can't believe I'm doing cardio for an hour at a time, so these are the things I will look toward to help keep me motivate. Eventually those scales just got to get moving again right?

I hope to be able to post personals over the holiday weekend but I do want to take a minute and say HAPPY B-Day to Kelly.

Well we went to lunch for Kelly's birthday. We ate mexican. Yummy, but bad!! Well we decided that we are not eating out anymore, no time during the school day, and we are getting back on track full force. My weigh- in was rotten. I went up 2.2 pounds. I am trusting that it is that mid-cycle gain I've experiencing lately. I am hoping it goes back down this week.

Susie- Yeah for a loss, even if it isn't huge. You just keep working it.

Wardhog- I couldn't handle having cake in the house right now. I know I would be eating it up. Glad to hear your weight is back down.

Enjoy the holiday weekend. I will be doing my 3fc 5k sometime this weekend.

Mindy, I am sorry about the weigh-in. I would be disappointed.

I think I've gotten in enough cardio this week-end. Yesterday I did Group Ride and then 26 min on the stair mill and 26 min on the elliptical. Today I ran about 8 miles (1:31). Eating is on plan.

Tomorrow we've got a barbeque to go to. That could be trouble. Have a great holiday, everyone!

I just finished my 3fc 5k. I didn't run as much as I wanted because I have hurt my hip somehow. It feels like a pulled muscle. I did jog maybe half, just in shorter segments. I did it in 47 min. anyhow. Not bad!! Still looking for that weight to go away.

Wardhog- Good job on the workouts. Have fun at the barbeque, just be careful.

The holiday weekend has been busy and filled with food. I haven't done well with it at all but made a decision today to get back with it. It's the 1st of Sept. a new month, new week and almost a new season.

I've got a little time today to get some things done around the house and playing catch-up on my email and posting. I'm about to go and straighten out my closet. I'm not ready to put summer things's still way to hot, but I don't need to have my white pants and all those tank tops out so I"m going to put some of that away and get organized in there so I feel like I 'm not rushed every morning trying to get ready for work.

Our church is having a community picnic starting at 4 today. I"m working the food lines for 1 hr and then going to get my nieces so that they can play on the blow-up rides and see the Rodeo at 7.

I know that there is going to funnel cakes there and I know I"m going to want one and I plan on having one and splitting it with my hubby. I already asked him if he would so that I would have a plan in place. He agreed to go get it for me, and ask for two plates and he would split it and give me my half. Isn't that nice of him?

Mindy: Sorry to hear that your hip hurt during your run. Be sure to stretch and maybe take some anti-inflammatory meds for it and do the ice off and on for 20 min.

Ward: How did you do at the cookout? Good to see that you were able to change your ticker on your profile.

Kelly: How are you doing?

Ew, Mindy. I am sorry to hear about your hip. Is it right in the front where your leg meets your hip? I had problems there from running. Try stretching your hip flexors and IT band, and also alternate heat and ice in addition to taking advil or aleve. I hope it's feeling better soon.

Hey Susie - sounds like you have a good plan for the picnic. These long week-ends can be hard on the eating plan.

I did Group Ride and Group Power this morning. Eating is on track so far. The cook-out is this evening. I might bring a spicy black bean burger with me, and I am also bringing a salad for the crowd. See you guys tomorrow.

Yeah the pain is right in front, like right over the hip bone. I couldn't even lay on my side last night, neither one. If I laid on the sore side, it hurt, if I tried the other side it pulled too much. It is felling a bit better today. hopefully it will be even better tomorrow. Thanks for the concern and advice. Tomorrow we start school with children. It is always a crazy day. Wish me and Kelly luck.

Tonight I am going horseback riding with my son and daughter. They are both working at a local riding stable and we are going out after hours. It has been years since I've been on a horse. DD assures me I will have a good horse. This should be interesting. I think it will be my workout for today. It really is a good workout for the thighs and buttocks. Here goes nothing.

I'll report in tomorrow and tell you all about it.

I survived the bbq yesterday. Actually, I think I did quite well. I ate grilled chicken, salad and fruit. A lot of salad and fruit, but no brownies, cookies, ice cream, burgers, brats, etc. And no bingeing when I got home. Today was my son's first day of pre-K and it was a bit hectic. I went back and forth to the gym but got in a Group Ride and 52 min of cardio. Eating is on plan. The binge monster is still poking at me, though. This is the first day since May that I have been home alone and that's a trigger for me. I have to return some shorts to Kohl's and pick my son up by 1:15 so I should be able to avoid it. I am also trying to remind myself how crappy I will feel tomorrow if I give in.

I realized this morning that I didn't get here yesterday to post. There is a lot going on at work. I'm so busy but there is talks of cutting back and packages being offered. We have a big meeting Friday morning. It's hard to not want to eat--you know, comfort, do something with all that nervous energy. I'm struggling, I'll admit it. It's not as bad as I've been at other times like this but I'm not on plan and in order for me to maybe even loose I HAVE to be on plan. I'm not sure it will look good at the scales tomorrow. That is so depressing.

BUT, I am doing great with my workouts. I"m trying to be sure to get them in because when I'm working out, I feel so much better.

Ward: I can't believe you didn't have a brownie, but I"m so proud and happy for you! How did you do with being at home alone today?

Look what happens. Back to school with students and I am so busy I can't think. I have been keeping up with the workouts, like you Susie. I refuse to let stress throw me off track.

The horse ride was fun and I am paying for it. My horse did some bucking and jumping due to a fly on his butt. He almost dumped me, but I stayed on. The saddle did a number on my lower half though. I have some beautiful bruises and soreness. Well, it was still fun.

Glad to hear how everyone is avoiding their own temtations and sticking to their workouts. Hope to catch up better later.

I did an interrupted workout again today. Ended up with Group Ride and 52 min of cardio. Eating is on plan and weigh-in is tomorrow. I went down a little and back up a little this week so far, but stayed under the red line so I am satisfied.

I am excited to report that I was down 1 lb when I weighed in at TOPS tonight. I was very surprised and happy to say the least!

Ward: Good to hear that you are on track and I'm hoping you will show a loss at your weigh-in tomorrow.

Mindy: How's the hip doing? You wrote about being so busy you can't think. I get like that a lot. I try to find ways to keep focused when I'm feeling that way and it's very challenging.

Does anyone have suggestions? The one thing that I know that helps me is to workout. It gets my head clear. But sometimes I need something else so any suggestion is a welcome.

Today I did Group Power plus 45 min of cardio. Eating is on plan. Oh, yeah - and I hit my goal weight today! :woohoo: 124.8!!! I feel like celebrating with food, but instead I went to my closet and tried on small clothes. :)

Today was our 5k. Bright and early this morning. It was beautiful. I think Kelly and I walked together for the first 1/2 mile before parting ways. It was really nice having her with me. I finished in 42 min. The first one I did in 26, so 4 min. faster. YEAH!!! I was also back to 208 today. Another YEAH!!. It was fun.

Then there was a parade. Man did Kelly's girls get the candy. She is going to take most of it to school for bribes for her students. Well, my DD won 3rd place in a karaoke contest on Thurs. She gets to go sing during one of the breaks at a concert tonight, so about 15 min. She is excited and it should be fun. She also won $50.

Need to go shower, still stinky from this morning. Should think about dinner before the concert. See ya all later.

I've been taking it really easy for the past few days. I've been doing good with my food. I told myself since I wasn't working out I needed to be sure that the food intake was good and within range.

I'll get back to working out tomorrow. I just needed a break.

We got some bad news on Friday that the business unit that I work in is going to be going away. It won't be immediate but I would say that in a year I need to be very concerned if I haven't found another position in another area of the company. There will be 2500 of us affected by this. So, I'm not waiting to long or being to picky when looking for that position. We do have a tool at our company where we can see and apply for all open jobs. That's a very good thing. I look at it every week but was only considering positions that would allow a promotion in level, now I will consider a lateral move as well.

Mindy and Kelly: It sounds like you had a great time with your 5K. Mindy: You beat your old time by 2 minutes..that's huge! Congratulations.
Kelly: Good idea to take that candy to school for your students.

And then my daughter has her six-year check-up the next day. gah!

Ward, you aren't the only one who was out of control today. I sure was. It was an all out binge. I haven't done that forever and I feel so bad! I mean physically. I'm itichy from the sugar, I feel so bloated and tired. I have a headache and I know tomorrow and for a few days I'll be fighting the sugar/carb monster.

I'm so stressed over this job thing. It felt so bad all day. It's like the passion has left our building.

I have enough shirts for work (because I just bought a bunch), but I really need some new pants. I have 2 pairs of khakis and that is it except for jeans. I was doing ok with capris, but it is really starting to get too cold. I need to go out this weekend as well and find some black pants perhaps.

Susie--I'm so sorry to hear about your job. I know how depressing that feels. I am feeling it now, just like you are.

I am teaching a split grade this year instead of a straight grade, which I haven't ever done before, and I am really struggling. The only thing that was keeping me going was the possibility that we had enough kids to turn me back into a straight grade, and I just found out that isn't likely to happen. :( I have been depressed and angry for a couple days. Of course, I have been unable to control all the stress eating, and I haven't been working out. I just can't get back into the swing of things. I am hoping Mindy and I can start working out again together later this week, or definitely by Monday. I really love hearing all the compliments on my new clothes, and it is secretly nice to see that Mindy and I are two of the very few teachers at school that have kept their weight off since we ended the biggest loser contest.:flow1:

I have a GREAT on plan day. My food was good and I had a great workout. A 30 min walk, a 30 min bike ride and 30 min lower body workout.

I had so much water today and I just feel so much better.

I knew that you guys wouldn't let me be of track for long. Thank you all for being so faithful to this board. Even though I haven't lost as much weight as the rest of you. I am making great changes in my weightloss journey and I feel good. I know the weight will come off if I just keep trying. And I WILL keep trying.

Mindy and Kelly: I'm so proud of you both for keeping the weight off since you started the Biggest Loser contest at the first of the year. Go shopping ladies...and enjoy your new clothes! NO, knit pants with elastic waists!!!! Even though I'm not at my desired weight, I do not wear those pants!

Ward: Looking foward to your posts and I hope that the binge for you has stopped as well.

I'm having a good day. I'm on track with food and my workout bag is packed for a hr of cardio tonight and weights after work.

Where I sit at work is a file cabinet that everyone comes and sets food out on when they have it left over from meetings and such. So far today there has been bannana nut bread and now there is fruit and other pastries.

I'm doing ok with it...I just keep ignoring it. I told myself that everyone has touched it and therefore I don't want to eat it.

Just wanted to pop in. Tonight's my weigh-in and I'm hoping for a stay the same or a loss. Even if I gain, I know why and I also know I stopped it and got back on the wagon, so I'll be ok.

I'm catching a cold. I'm trying to head it off with zinc, lots of water and rest. I"m taking it easy with my workouts. I'm doing walks and since I'm going slower I'm doing 45 min instead of 30 and then that's all I'm doing. I don't want to push myself to hard but moving does help me feel better once I get started.

I bought an I-tunes card yesterday and this weekend I'm going to download some new music for my workouts. I'm looking forward to doing that.

Ward: Did you end up getting the car taken care of? Sometimes it's ok to blow things off for a day or so. Your workout where your legs and arms were shaking afterwards sounds great. I love for that to happen when I'm feeling good and that comes because I worked so hard. Good for you for getting your head back up and getting back on plan.

Kelly and Mindy: You guys will do so well in the contest. Look how far this last one took you. This one will take you to goal--mark my words.

It is so nice to be back to working out with Mindy. I have trouble motivating myself, but it is easy and not a big deal when we are at school together. I have finally gone back down below 200. I was creeping up there between 200-204 in the last few weeks, but getting back into routine has finally started kicking in. I saw 199.5 yesterday, and 199 today, so I am moving in the right direction!

So, our gas prices were expected to go up to $5 yesterday, and I see they are still $3.92 here today, did anyone experience the price going up???

I have seen a few stations out of gas and some price gouging going on. I heard it might get much worse in the coming weeks (I heard $7/gallon).

I did Group Ride today, and then 52 min extra cardio. Eating is on plan. My husband and I took the car in today. There were slow leaks in both (!) front tires and we're getting a tune-up, oil change, etc. before our trip in a couple of weeks.

Well yesterday was messed up. I did go shopping for pants and then had a wedding to attend. I didn't eat bad, just didn't track it and no workout. I am back on track today and plan to workout later.

I got 2 pair of pants. One was a size 14. They are stretch material, but still, a 14. I also got my firts pair of khaki's ever. The other pair is brown. Never had brown pants either. What is going on?

Kelly- Happy to hear you are back below 200. I'm a headin there. Don't wait for me. Let's get those workouts planned for the week.

Wardhog- You are solid as a rock. Keep working out and maintaining. ;)

Susie- How was the weigh-in? Waiting to hear.

Hooray for the new clothes! You'll be getting tons of compliments at work this week.

I had a very nice solo run this morning, ~8 miles (1:25). Eating is on plan, day 7. I am almost back to 125 - I'd like to go a bit lower before vacation. There will be a lot of eating out, etc. while I am gone and I need some wiggle room.

Today's workout - Group Power and 50 min of cardio. I am going to try to cut the grass, too. I am running out of time, though - it's noon now and I still have to eat lunch and take a shower before going to get my son at 2. Aren't I supposed to have more time now that they are back in school? It just doesn't seem to work out that way. Ah, well. Eating is on plan. See you tomorrow. :)

Wardhog- I can you this. I have like no time for anything lately. Things are just so busy with everything at school. Today my room changed from a 4/5 split to a straight 5th. 5 Kids left, but 8 came in. That just means more chaos for me for a while. And here I sit, teaching 5th grade. Exactly what I didn't want.

Well, Kelly, I and another friend worked out after school today. We did my kickboxing DVD. We already have W, Th and Friday planned out. Friday will be our weigh-in for BL at school. Here we go.

I hope you got some of that frustration out by kickboxing! Is this a temporary change for you, just for a year or two?

Today I did Group Ride and 52 min of cardio. I still need to finish the yard - I only had time for the front and side yesterday and the big back is waiting for me. :sigh: Eating is on plan, day 9. I feel so much better when I eat well. :)

Hi Ladies,

This will be a quick post. I'm posting from work and getting ready to go home.

My weigh-in was not good, I had a gain. Dang it!

I haven't been online and won't be much, until we get our electric back on at home. We have been without power since 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon as a result of the hurricane Ike.

We had a wind storm on Sunday where the wind blew at 70-80 mph for over 5 hours! Luckly we didn't have any damage to the house or trees, just no power. We have now lost everything in our frige and freezers.

We do have water and our water heater is gas so we can take showers. It's just a mess!

I'll be back soon. I promise!!

I miss you guys!!
