Susie- Sorry about the gain. Just keep working at it. It sucks to have no power. Hopefully it will be on soon.
Wardhog- I am still holding out for one last chance at getting back to K yet this year. PLEASE!!! I don't want to get stuck in 5th grade.
Did WATP tonight at 10:00 pm and was jogging and jumping instead of walking. I had soo much energy I had to do something.

Mindy, working out at 10pm? Go for it! I am in bed at 10 every night!
Today I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. Eating is on plan. We leave for Hilton Head in two weeks - I need some wiggle room because I know I will be putting on a few pounds when we're gone.

Us girls did our workout after school today. We did BL Power Sculpt. Then one friend and I went for a little run, just to throw in a little cardio. I saw a new low today, 205.2. Boy won't it be nice to get on the other side of 205, on my way down to 199. :woohoo:
wardhog- Hope you meet your goal by vacation. You will have a blast, I'm sure.
Gotta run. See ya!!

Hi Ladies,
I'm still without power--it is so frustrating! I've also been sick this week. It started last week, I thought it was a cold but I went to the doctor yesterday and it's bronchities. (sp?). I haven't been working out this week. It's just enough of a workout to try to lead a normal life without electric!
They say everyone will have power by Sunday--I hope it's before then.
The good news is that I can only keep small amounts of food in the house or go buy it, so even though I want to comfort myself with food, it's not an easy thing to do. Maybe it will show at my weigh-in tonight.
I looked at the post very quickly and it looks like everyone is rocking their plan...good job!
I'll see you again when I have power or can find a computer to come to the board.

Susie- That sucks, still no power. They need to get it in gear there. Hope you start feeling better soon.
Wardhog- Or should I just say, beast? I checked out a new gym in our neighboring town last night. I am considering joining. It is about $35 a month, so I am weighing the cost against how much I think I would use it. It is a 24 hour access gym, but no classes like yours. They don't have a ton of machines, but it is all brand new and nice. Good thing is, they just opened and it isn't very busy. We'll see.
Tom. is our first weigh-in at school for the new BL contest. Here we go.

Ack - Susie, I hope they get your power back on soon. I don't know how you're even functioning without it!
Mindy, are there a lot of gyms around your area? I ask because I pay $30/mo and that includes all the classes you want to take, plus they have a ton of equipment (cardio machines, two types of weights machines, and free weights). They also have tanning, personal training and nutritional counseling that aren't included in the monthly rate. Ours isn't 24 hrs, although it's open from 5am - 11pm so it meets my needs. It's also 0.7 miles away from my house so I have no excuse not to go. Is there a trial period, like a free week, that you could see how it would fit into your schedule?
Today I did 45 min of cardio, plus Group Power. Eating is on plan. See you tomorrow.

Hello,
Good news! I have electricity! It came on last night. It feels so good to have it again!
I stayed the same at my TOPS meeting. My plan is to get everything including me caught up and back on track this weekend and then hit the ground running with workouts on Monday. I'm starting to feel better but it's slow coming.
Mindy: How did the BL weigh-in go?
Ward: Looks like you are doing good.
It's so good to be back with you all. I'll talk to you this weekend!

Weigh-in was pretty good. I saw a new low again today. I was 204.8. :carrot:
It seems to just keep slowly going down. I can't complain. We weighed in at school today on the "new digital scale." We kept getting different readings. Kelly lost 3 pounds in the matter of minutes, I lost 1 pound. So we decided we should go back to the doctor type scale and re-weigh. I was 205 on that one. Funny!!
So I jogged 2.2 miles last night. I took a walk break in the middle of .10. Hey, that's pretty good.
Wardhog- There are other gyms, but they are not as close. This one does have a free week which I'm going to try for sure. I don't know if any of the gyms I'm thinking of have classes and stuff like yours. The Y does, but that's further away and I believe more expensive.
Susie- Good job with the maintaining. I know you'd rather be losing but not gaining is good. Do you log your food?
See ya all tom.

Mindy, congratulations on the loss. You are doing great!
So, this morning I ran a 5k and had a new personal best time of 25:46. The weather was perfect and I just pushed. It felt good! I also made it to Group Ride. Eating is on plan, although there have been some temptations. See you tomorrow.

wardhog- What a great time. I would be happy to get under 40 min. You have got to be moving. Good for you. Last night I did 2.8 miles, with 2 walk breaks of 1/10 mile. The first segment was 1.2 miles straight, I know. Then must have been about .8 and .7 or something like that. It was beautiful here also and was great weather for jogging. I think I will go out again today.
I went shopping for a few new tops to go with my new pants. The capris I had on today are way too baggy. Don't think I should be wearing them anymore. Today I was at 204.4. So close to that magical number. Have a great weekend everyone.

You just keep going down, down, down! :) Have fun with all your new clothes - don't buy too many, though, because you're just going to need more.
Well, my friend called to tell me that I won my age group! It was a very small race, but I am absurdly proud of myself. They do give prizes; I think mine is tickets to a tour of homes. I plan to invite the girls I ran with. It'll be fun.
Today I did 30 min stair mill, 30 min elliptical, 30 min recumbent bike. Eating is on plan. See you tomorrow.

Yeah, I am really only buying tops since I won't grow out of them very fast. I am buying mostly mediums and I don't forsee ever wearing a small. They should fit for quite a while. Pants I am only getting a few at a time. I think I have 5 pair. One pair is getting big though. It's fun to shop for fashionable clothes.
Just came in from my run, walk a little. Did 3 miles tonight. My legs are feelings it.

Hello,
Ward: I'm so proud of you for that great time on the 5K and for winning in your age group. How awesome!
Mindy: You are doing so well. It's very inspiring. You asked if I am logging my food. I was then stopped and tomorrow my new goal is that I will again. I've told myself I"m going to do it from tomorrow, the 1st day of fall until December, the 1st day of winter, which I think is around Dec. 21. I always seem to fall off the wagon with it because I don't have or rather don't make time to look up the calories. This time I'm going to try to get those looked up each day but even if I don't I'm still going to write it down. I got a new notebook to keep track of what I'm eating and the exercise I'm doing so I can look back at it and see how I'm doing.
I will hit the work gym tomorrow. The first time in over 10 days. I'm going to take it slow. I'm still coughing a bit, but I am going to start moving.
I'll see you all tomorrow.

Susie- Sounds like a good game plan. I know that looking up all my calories really helps me stay on track. I know when to stop and when I should squeeze in a snack. Have fun at the gym too.
I was at 203.2 today. I have lost everyday since Thurs. I'm sure it has to do with the daily jogging. Just did a quickie workout with friends tonight. I'll see what happens tom. I really enjoy my log. I can look for patterns and see my progress in black and white. I find it very interesting and helpful. I highly recommend it.

Hi,
Well, the workout seems to have set me back a bit. I'm coughing again and my chest is tight. I'm calling the doctor to see if I can get an inhaler. I work in private industry but I work with Pharmacists and Docs and they are telling me that I need an inhaler.
I still plan on working out tonight, just taking it easy. I've got to get to moving or my back will really start to bother me and I don't need that on top of everything else.

I am just a bit stressed at all the stuff that I have to get done before we leave. Planning and laundry and packing and whatever. We're staying in a house that's mostly furnished, but for some reason I end up bringing tons of stuff.
Today I did Group Ride and 60 min of cardio. I ended up on stage with the instructor again. The class was full, and someone came in looking for a bike at the last minute. The only one left was the one on stage, but she didn't want to ride it, so I gave her mine and went up there. What was I going to do, she's my husband's boss's wife. ;) Eating is on plan (day 16), but there has been little or no movement on the scale.

Hi Guys,
It's been a tough couple of weeks for me. I am still sick! I went back to the doctor today and was told I now have tonsillitis on top of the bronchitis! I am now on a very high-power (and expensive) antibodic and steriods.
She told me no working out except gentle walks for the next two weeks. I guess when sickness is below the neck, like in my chest, it's best not to work out. She said I need to rest and get well and I have to listen to her this time--I leave for Texas on October 5 and I need to be well by then.
I worked from home today, ran the vaporizor and sat on the couch with my laptop. I actually started running the vaporizor 2 nights ago and it's starting to help move the congestion in my body out. My coughing has been a bit less today.
I'm not going to TOPS tonight or my sign-language class...I'm just taking it easy and going to bed early.
Ward: When are you leaving on vacation? Are you taking your kids out of school and where are you going? Day 16 of being on plan? You are half-way to achieving a new habit...very good job!
Mindy: I know how it can get crazy busy..just remember to keep making some time for you.
Well, with the limited exercise I really need to watch the food. Tomorrow I"ll start posting it here to help me stay on track.
Ok..I'm going to lay down for a bit.
See you all tomorrow.

What a difference a day makes. This is the 1st day I have felt human. I didn't cough very much today. I guess the new antibodic and steriods are working?
No exercise today. Will try that walk on Monday.
My food for today:

Lunch: 1 pbj (2 slices of bread), pretzals, grapes, water
Dinner: Bob Evans: garden salad with colonial dressing, loaded baked potato, carrots, stuffing, 1 roll, water

I am actually in morbid shock today. I have gained 5 pounds this week. 5. Where did that come from? I know I usually gain a bit this time of the month, but 5 whole pounds. I gained 2 from yesterday to today. What the H***. I have worked out everyday. All I can think is I've had 2 days of low calories, like 1100. I don't know how that happened, it just did. Maybe that accounts for some it. I am going to eat to my hearts content today, workout and see what happens. Needless to say, I am quite depressed and out of sorts today.
Susie- Your eating looks pretty good for yesterday. :smug: So glad to hear you are feeling better. Hope you get to walk this weekend.

What!!??? I can't believe you have gained 5 pounds this week after all that we have been doing Mindy! That is shocking!! I wonder if the workouts we have done this week have been super intense and our bodies are freaking out. They are hanging on to every bit of "food" they can. I am thinking this because out of everyone in the BL contest at work, you, me, and Micque are the only ones that had a gain this week. Obviously something is fishy about that. Maybe too much, too fast? I read in the BL fitness book that when you first start you should do steady levels of cardio, then later on add bursts of intensity. I wonder if I need to back off the heavy duty cardio like we've been doing, and alternate days of walking and Dvd's. Then you could do DVDs with me, and walk/jog the other days. Maybe that would work? It's got to be something, because all the other people at work can lose weight just by eating differently. I don't even think many of them work out!
Wardhog-- Good luck on your trip! You might gain while you're gone, but you'll get it right back off in a flash!
Susie-- I am so glad to hear you are feeling better! I know when I am miserable like that I just want to sit in a chair or lay on the couch and have everyone leave me alone. I really like the way you listed the things you ate the other day. It is nice to see the things other people are eating. Do you usually eat a morning snack and an afternoon snack, too? I've been trying to eat a couple snacks because my friend who is a nurse told me to, since it keeps your metabolism going. She lost 15 pounds last winter, and stopped losing once she stopped eating snacks. I definitely hope it works!!

Hi Guys,
I can't say the food was great today but I was able to stop a binge that I thought I wouldn't be able to. I just told myself no--a million times. Stopping it makes me feel more powerful
I was able to clean my house today. I feel so much better having things look the way I like them.
I'm still coughing a little but it's so much better.
Today's food:
Breakfast: 4 p of bacon, 2 scrambled eggs, 1 pancake with syrup, water
Binge: 4 orange slice candies, 1/2 can of coke, handful of crunch and munch
Lunch: 1/2 grilled chees sandwich with lettuce and onion. 1/4 cup of potato salad, water
Dinner: Olive Garden. salad with dressing, 2 breadsticks, 1/2 order of pasta with Alfredo. water
Very heavy foods today.
Mindy: Sorry to hear about the gain. I bet you loose BIG time after TOM is finished.
Kelly: No, I don't eat snacks but I think I should. I've heard that about the metabolism. What sort of snacks did your friend have.
Ward: How close is that vacation? Will you be able to work out when you are on vacation?
mtiger
09-28-2008, 09:25 AM
Kelly- Yep I think maybe it is a three fold problem. 1. It is my week to normally gain, 2 weeks before TOM. 2. I didn't get enough calories for 2 days in a row. 3.Our workouts have left me sore. I have read that when your muscles are sore you retain water to repair them. So I am going with this theory, although it is depressing as H***.
Susie- Yep we both eat snacks throughout the day (Kelly and I). Kelly and I had a huge discussion about PB&J last night. She thought that was a high calorie food choice, I disagreed. We decided it is all in how you make it. My bread is 80 cal. for 2 slices. 1 Tbsp. of PB- 95 calories and jam- 50 calories. Total= 225. Kelly's was about 400. My point is, you really need to know exactly what is going into your meals or you may be eating a lot more than you think. ;) As for snacks, I am into the 100 calorie packs because they are easy. Also string cheese and fruit.
I am more annoyed today than yesterday. I thought for sure I would lose pretty good today. I only went from 208.6 to 208.2. Man, I just don't get it.I am going to get food in today and jog a couple of miles. Things need to change.
Wardhog- Hope you are getting everything done.

Hi guys! Kelly - good to see you.
Mindy, I think you'll lose big in the coming week. You have to!
Susie, I eat small meals all day, like every two hours. It's easy for me because I am at home, but this way I don't ever really get that hungry.
Today I did a slow run, 8.5 miles in 1:46. Eating is on plan.
We are leaving Wed. morning, if we can get some gas in the car before then. We have an awful gas shortage here. None of the stations have any, and when they do, there are 100 cars lined up to get it. The place we're staying has a tiny little exercise room so I will be able to work out some. The room is right next to where they keep the 24/7 supply of Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. Cross your fingers for me that it's oatmeal raisin week. I don't like them that much; I will eat them, but I won't empty the jar like I would if they're chocolate chip or peanut butter. ;)
Kelly530
09-28-2008, 02:02 PM
I try to eat snacks like Yoplait Light yogurt, granola bars (the 90 cal. ones), 100 calorie packs, fruit, sometimes trail mix. One of the teachers at school is raving about nuts and seeds because they are part of the "Flat Belly Diet" she is trying. I also like the South Beach Peanut Butter Cereal bars. They are 140 calories, but lots of protein so they really stick with me.
I have a pizza problem today. I want pizza, so nothing else sounds good. I had another (unsatisfying) ham sandwich today for lunch because I have nothing but junk in my house right now. It is not grocery week

Hi,
Thank you for sharing your snack ideas with me. I will try some of them. Maybe I let myself get to hungry and then I eat to much at meals.
I will also start looking up my food so I get an idea if I'm having a 200 calorie pbj or a 500 pbj.
I'm about to go out and sweep out my car and clean the windows on the inside and also Armoral it. Since I eat my ceral bar and fruit on route to work, my car is needing cleaned out--a lot of crumbs. It also needs washed but there is no way I"m going to do that with the bronchitis cough I'm still dealing with. I'll take to to the Mr. Clean car wash tomorrow and let them do it.
Tomorrow I'm going to walk on the treadmill at lunch--just for 30 min. Starting back small here.
Today isn't finished but here is my food so far:
B=toaster studel, water
L=Leftover grilled cheese sand with lettuce and onion, mini pretzals, water
Snack= 4 fig newton cookies, water
Dinner=I'm planning on my left over pasta and a salad.
I don't know if you can tell or not but I'm not a big meat eater. It's a mental thing with me--when I think that it was a living THING, I just can't eat it. If I get it out of my head then I can but that doesn't seem to be something that I can do everyday. It's very annoying but I've been like that since I was 8 yrs old.
Kelly: I hope you can stay strong and avoid the pizza. I know you can!
Mindy: I hope you enjoyed your jog
Ward: When we didn't have power here that week after the wind storm from Ike the gas lines were like that. I hope the vacation spot only has oatmeal rasin cookies!:cookie:

Here's how the food is shaping up so far:
B-1 cheerio ceral bar, grapes, water
L-side salad w/ dressing, 1 bread stick, 2 cc cookies (they were small), 1 apple, water.
Snack- what is planned is a bannana and some peanuts
D= what is planed is steak (my piece will be no bigger than a playing card), baked potato w/ ranch dressing, carrots, water
I hope everyone is having an on plan day!

You guys! I am just so upset today. How can a person gain 5 pound in a week? It can't be fat, so why is it still here? It is just not going away. I just want to either dive into a bag of chips or never eat again. Netither one is a good option. I walked and jogged 4 miles yesterday. Today we did BL Power Sculpt and I did a quick mile, mostly jogging. I have been right around 1400 calories for days. I don't know what else to do.
B- Cereal and milk 200 cal.
S- 100 cal. yogurt
L- Lean cuisine panini 350 cal. cookies 100 calorie pack
S- granola bar 90
D- not sure yet.
And now it's raining too. So more gloom and doom. AAHH!! Sorry for the rant.
Susie- Keep it going. Looking up those calories can be a real eye opener. Did you chenk out the toaster strudel. I love them but haven't had one since January.
Ward- Our gas has gone down about .60 cents a gal. It sucks that you are having a shortage. Hope you get it worked out by Wed.
Kelly- Who's doing the flat belly diet?
Kelly530
09-29-2008, 07:24 PM
Mindy-
Cheryl is doing the Flat Belly diet. She eats sunflower seeds and those pecan almond nut clusters that are soooooo good.
I am looking at the side of my screen and seeing an ad for wu yi oolong tea. Maybe I'll try that wu long slimming tea again. Micque seemed to think that was worthwhile.
B- Honey Bunches of Oats cereal - 170
Yogurt - 100
S- 3 strawberries and a granola bar - 100
L- Frozen meal: Mac & Cheese - 310
Sugar free Jello - 10
S - Ritz snack mix 100 calorie pack - 100
D - Cheese tortellini w/ pasta sauce - 350
Cottage cheese - 120
That puts me at 1260 for the day, so I'll probably have a snack later to get up to 1400. Maybe some 100 calorie pack popcorn, or maybe some nuts and seeds. After all, a flat belly can't hurt......;)

D=fried egg sandwhich, cole slaw
Snack=1 cup of frozen yogert

At least my legs were frozen so I couldn't feel how achy they were. I am down 3-1/2 pounds from last Friday:carrot:. I hope to keep that off and maybe lose a little more by this Friday.
Food for the day (Bad, Bad, Dinner:cry:)
B - Raisin Bran - 230, applesauce - 50
S - nectarine - 62
L - Frozen meal - 310, sugar free jello - 10
D - Fazoli's Baked spaghetti, one breadstick - 850
S - Hot Chocolate for the Soccer game - 150
Went over my calories today (1662) (Goal=1400). Oh well. Back on tomorrow.

I am afraid I am having a bad dinner tonight though, pizza. I'll keep it under control Hey, it's better than the half dozen donuts I'd like to have. I am experiencing a little stress eating today. Tough day at school with rude children.
So here's how the day stacks up.
B- cereal and milk 180
S- nectarine 75
L frozen meal 300
S- rice cakes 90 chex mix 130
D- pizza I am guessing 350
Total= 1125? Hey maybe room for popcorn later.
Susie- Are you going to weigh-in tonight. If you are I hope it is good news.
Wonder how Wardhog is on vacation.

Oh yeah, my legs are trashed. I am wondering how I am going to get back up the stairs after writing this post. Biggest Loser Cardio 1 and 2 is definitely a butt kicker. My quads are feeling it for sure!
B - Multi Grain Cheerios & applesauce=200
S - nectarine=65
L - Frozen meal: sweet & sour chicken and Jello=310
S - Granola bar=90
D - Applebees Parmesan Tilapia W/ steamed veggies= No idea
(Nothing on the Weight Watchers menu looked good tonight.) Oh yeah, I almost forgot I had a small piece of my daughter's quesadilla. And I expect to lose weight how?

Hi,
I had my weigh-in last night. I didn't go last week because I was feeling so rotten from my cold. I am happy to report that I didn't gain. I didn't loose but I didn't gain.
I'm trying to remember what all I ate yesterday since I didn't write it down---bad, bad, bad:devil: I did buy a small notebook so I can carry it with me and write it down right then until waiting until the end of the day.
So far today I have had:
B= Protein bar-200 calories,
grapes=110
I don't know what I am going to have for lunch

Hi,
I wanted to check in early due to the fact that I'm about to start cleaning my house and then packing for my trip tomorrow.
I will be in San Antonio until Wed. I'm taking my laptop and I hope to be able to post at least once while I'm there. The conference is going to keep me busy. I've never been to San Antonio before and I"m excited. I keep hearing about the Riverwalk. My hotel is right on it so I'm going to take my walking shoes and make sure I get up and down it a couple of times. My hubby says to leave my wallet in the hotel room!:D I hear there is all kinds of shopping on the Riverwalk. I also plan to see The Alamo.
I did pretty well with my food yesterday and I'm happy with myself for looking the calories up!
B=1 protein bar,grapes (310 calories)
L=Grilled roasted rell bell peppers and portabella sand. pickle slice (300 calories)
D=1/2 Buddie Boy sand., 1/2 order of onion rings, 1 order of cole slaw. (759 calories)
I only had water to drink all day so no calories there.
I did have a Snickers bar (209) between Lunch and Dinner. We went to a high school game and I didn't have dinner until after it was over, at the game I was hungry and I had a Snickers.
Total calories for yesterday=1578
My doctor said to keep my calories between 1500-1700 and work on losing 10% of my current weight and when I do that to take my calories down 200-300 for the next 10%. So that's my focus and my new goal.
I'll talk to you all in a couple of days.

Susie- You are getting so on track. Good job looking up those calories. I am always surprised sometimes. A friend at work is always eating these nut cluster things. Yummy!! I found them today and they are 170 calories for 5. Way too much for me. Good goals.
I did a 4 mile walk/jog today. Made ghoulash for dinner. I have no idea how many calories. Well I didn't have much else, so I'm sure I'll be okay.

Hey y'all. I am back from my little vacation. It sounds like everyone is doing a good job staying on plan and exercising.
I worked out Wed. before we left, Thurs. a little cardio, Fri. some weights, and Sat. a walk. No workout yesterday. I ate poorly for the whole week. Guess how much weight I gained. Really, give it a shot. Did you guess twelve pounds? Yup, twelve. I hope it will come off quickly, but I guess we'll see.
Today I didn't have a whole lot of energy, but I went to the gym and did Group Power plus 45 min. of cardio. Eating is on plan so far.
See you tomorrow.

:carrot: I, the DD, decided that the carrot should go first.
Wardhog- Glad to see you are back. Did you have a great time? How in the world did you gain 12 pounds? You know that won't stick around. You will get rid of it quickly.
I am on track and staying about the same. TOM is around the corner, so maintaining would be good.
See ya later.

Hey guys. I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. I was only gone 5 days, but I was pooped on Monday. I have felt a little more energy coming back each day.
Yesterday I did Group Ride and 45 min of cardio. Today it was Group Power and 52 min. Eating has been on plan. Five pounds are gone so far and I am hoping that the rest come off at least before Thanksgiving.
I hope everyone is doing well - I'll see you tomorrow!

Ever have one of those days when you would just like to crawl back into bed? That was me today. I was just feeling tired and glum. Well, got up anyway. Jogged (a little walking) 2 miles tonight. Tom. is weigh-in and I'm just not sure. I thought TOM would be here today to offer some relief, but nope. Don't know what it's waiting for.
Wardhog- Hope those pounds are disappearing.
Susie- Weigh-in tonight? Hope you get good results.
See ya tom. with the news.

Hi Everyone,
I am back from my trip and trying to get everything caught up. I'm feeling very overwhelmed and therefore overeating.
While I'm not caught up I think that if I really work on it tomorrow I can be and as for the overeating, I think I'm finished with it...NO, I KNOW I am..i'm feeling so sick from it. It's from all the sugar. I will be detoxing tomorrow, no sugar, drinking water, a lot of protein and veggies and moving. I feel like I'm hungover.
I did really well with food on my trip; I feel of the wagon when I got back on Wednesday night and I"ve been on a binge ever since.
I wish I wouldn't do this to myself, but I did and now it's over and once again...I'm starting over and I will not do this to myself again..not to this extreme. I swear this is what drug addicts deal with!
I have had a heart-to-heart talk with myself and I've decided that I am tired of messing with this. I'm giving myself a year to loose at least 50 lbs; if I don't do it on my own in a year then I will look into other measures. I had thought I might just say I would give up this fight but I can't do that. Here's the deal, there is no way I can have one of those weightloss surgery's. I have a huge fear of being put out, so much of a fear that when I had my hyst. I did it awake with a epidural, so see, there is no way I can have a weight loss surgery, but I've got to get at least 50 lbs off of I'm going to start having all sorts of medical issues, so that is my new goal and my foucs for the next year.
Ward: I'm glad to see that the 12 lbs are coming off. I hope that happens for me to. I don't know what I gained as I haven't been on the scales; I'll get on in the morning. Saturday is my "new life" day.
Mindy: I hope you are feeling back in sorts soon.
Ok, time for bed. I just wanted to check in before I let one more day go by.
I'll see you all sometime tomorrow or Sunday. I have a lot to do tomorrow but I will do my best to get here to report in.

Well I just seem to be stuck around 204-205. I've been here for a while with not much change. TOM is late also. I excpected that on the 10th and no sign yet. I wish that would get over with so maybe I could lose a few pounds. This is one of those frustrating times. I'll just have to stick with it.
Ward- Glad to see you getting rid of that vacation weight.
Susie- Good recommitment. This is one of the hardest things I've ever done. It is my second job and takes a lot of commitment and time. I'ts not easy, but well worth it when you see progress. Hang in there.

Mindy, I hope TOM shows up and you get to losing again.

Hey guys! How was the week-end?
I ran ~8 mi yesterday, 1:27. It was beautiful, a little windy but the perfect temp. It felt great. Then the rest of my day went downhill. It started when my car battery died, then I went to McDonald's with my husband while they fixed it. So, I did ok there, but the "off plan" alarm went off in my head. He left to go out of town (the kids were at my parents') and I had a horrendous binge. I felt so sick that I couldn't sleep last night. I got up and exercised, Group Ride then Group Power. I have stayed on my eating plan so far, but I am thinking of things that are in the house that I could eat (not on plan). What is wrong with me? I remember how I felt last night, yet I want to do it again? I really don't want to start on the road to weight re-gain (AGAIN)!
I am hoping coming here and writing it out will help! See you tomorrow.

Ladies,
You have all been on my mind; I am so busy with being away from work last week and from home. I'm starting to get caught up.
I'm doing well with keeping my food journal and getting in my exercise. I had a struggle with some trail mix on Sunday--so I finally threw it away. I just couldn't stop eating it. A 1/2 a cup is good...a 1/2 a bag is not!!
Ward: I'm so glad you made it through yesterday. I do think it helps to come here and write about those things before we do them. It's like a AA person calling their sponsor.
Mindy: I would say that you will get below 200 in the next 6-9 weeks. I've seen other people really plateau at those numbers and it takes a while to get through it.
Kelly: Mindy mentioned that you overate on the weekend and that you were really feeling sick. I can so relate. That happened to me on Friday and that's when I made my recommittment.
No time to log the food here but I will start that again soon. I am keeping it in my journal.

Oh my gosh. I am hoping to break through this plateau in less than 6-9 weeks. I really hope it doesn't take that long. I get too frustrated. I have eaten good today and have my workout clothes on to do WATP after BL. It will be late, but that's okay.
Keep up the good work ladies.

Another day, another workout. Group Ride + 52 min of cardio. I am really loving the new Ride release. Every three months they launch new music and choreography and this release is really tough!
Eating is on plan, but I have a challenge coming up. It's our turn to provide "snacks" for t-ball. Since the game is right around dinner time, the coach suggests we make it more of a meal. I ordered a tray of subs from the grocery store and I'm bringing small bags of chips and brownie bites for dessert. I know I can resist tonight; it's all those dern leftovers that I know I'll have at home! It's always something, right?
See you tomorrow.

Well I must say I was happy today. The scale said 202.6. That is the lowest I have gotten. I just hope it means I am going to start losing a bit and continue on the downward slope. We did some kickboxing after school today, to release some stress.
Today was another day of our state achievment testing. It was stressful. My class spent almost 4 hours testing today. I am warn out and I wasn't even the one taking the stupid thing. Poor kids.
Well tom. is weigh in at school. I think I may actually show a loss this week instead of a gain. Wish me luck.

Hi Ladies,
I'm not caught up on everything yet but it's to a manageable place.
I'm doing well with my workouts and my food journaling and I'm staying at about 1500-1600 calories a day and it's working. I had a small loss at TOPS last night. That's the way I usually loose, small and slow.
Ward: I love it when we get new music to workout to in our classes. It makes it seem like a new workout and it is tougher. I think it's because we get used to the other music and we know where we can sort of "cruise" in the workout. How did you do with the leftovers?
Mindy: That's great you saw the scale move. You have to be excited to be getting so close to 200 lbs. Good luck with today's weigh-in.
I must get to work but I wanted to be sure that I posted today. I can't wait until I can get back here daily. Hopefully in the next couple of days.

Mindy, how did the weigh-in go? How exciting that you are about to hit the 100's!!!
Susie, good job on the journaling and the loss. Slow and steady wins the race. :)
I did Group Power plus 45 min of cardio today. Eating is on plan. I have managed to avoid the leftovers so far. All of the brownies were eaten last night (yay!) but I brought home a few sandwiches. They are tempting me. They are just subs w/ meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato so eating one or two wouldn't be a diet killer. But a small slip sometimes leads into a binge, so it's best for me to avoid them.
I was at the library today and checked out a book about volumetrics. I think I have been following the principles anyway, but I am looking forward to trying some recipes.
See you guys tomorrow!

This week has been crazy. We were doing MEAP testing (our state acheivment test) 2 days and we had a field trip on Friday. I have been whipped. I have still worked everyday, but I come home and go to bed at like 10:00. I just woke up this morning and finally feel well rested. Now I have the rest of the weekend to get some things done around my neglected house.
Yesterday's weigh-in was okay. I think I lost a couple of pounds since last week. I as at 202.6 and still am today. I have actually been there for 3 days in a row. I keep looking for a 201, but it hasn't happened yet. Hopefully soon. My goal was to be under 200 by the end of October. I'm running out of time.

Good morning Ladies,
I am about to go to the salon for a hair appointment and I just got done paying my bills online so I thought I would jump on here and get a "daily" check-in done.
I was so very proud of myself last night because I didn't eat out of frustration to build up my injured ego and I sure did want to but I didn't.
I had ordered a costume for a Halloween party online. When I tried it on it fit except that the arms were very tight. I got the biggest size that this costume comes in a XXL and I wasn't happy to have to do that and then it didn't fit! I knew that we had some mini candy bars in the fridge. It was 11:00 p.m. I was very upset and I thought I"ll just have one and start over tomorrow and then I thought and said to myself, how is that candy bar going to make this situation any better. It won't. It might not change it now but if I say no to those candy bars for a whole year, next year I won't have trouble finding a costume that fits--and I didn't eat it. This was a major success for me for I am a comfort eater and a binger.
Ward: I'm glad the Brownies are gone. Tell me more about Volumtrics. I've heard of it but don't really know what it is.
Mindy: It sounds like you have had a very busy and stressful week. I'm happy that you showed a loss. Keep working hard.
Ok..time to get on the road. See you all tomorrow.
Oh, my day has started off well with food
Breakfast: 2 scrambles eggs 260 cal, 3 p of bacon 125 cal, toast 140
I wanted a higher calorie and high protein breakfast to start my day. It keeps me from getting hungry and binging the rest of the day.

10-18-2008, 11:23 AM
Mindy, next week you'll hit that number! I am glad things have calmed down for you.
Susie, I am sorry the costume didn't fit; I know that must have been disappointing. But, your reaction really demonstrates how your thinking and behavior have changed. I know you will be successful in this journey. And next year, that costume is going to be way too big for you!
I did Group Ride and 52 min of cardio today. Eating is on plan.

I forgot to respond about volumetrics. It's all about eating a greater volume of food at the same calorie level, so you don't get hungry. I had to stop reading the book, though, because reading all those recipes made me starving.

Ward- I have no idea what I will do when I get under 200. I haven't really thought about it. Cry, for sure. The last time I was under 200 was after I got married and was pregnant for my daughter. I went from 145 to over 200 while pregnant. It never left. So that was 23, well 24 years ago. Then of course I want to get back to that 145.
Today I was up a little. I figure it is because we ate really late last night for my mom's birthday and it was pasta. I'm sure it will go away. Tonight we did WATP 2 mile walk. I didn't bring workout clothes so i did it in my jeans and barefoot. It is really too easy. Even Kelly commented on how easy it seems to be getting. Tom. will be tae bo though, so a bit more of a workout.

It's official - I have become my mother. I left my purse at the grocery store today and had to run back for it. Thankfully someone had turned it in, money and all. My Mom is notorious for leaving her purse everywhere. One time she left it in a restaurant when she and my Dad were traveling. They had to turn around and go back like 150 miles to get it. He was SO mad!

Hi Ladies,
For the past two days the pressure at work has been tremendous. As I told you there are a lot of changes happening and it's getting to be more and more and bigger. Some are good, some are not but it is very stressfull.
Yesterday I gave into that stress and comforated myself with food and no exercise. Today I paid for it with feeling bloated and slow and headachy from the sugar.
I did not want to work out tonight but I made myself go and I'm glad that I did--it helped to sweat a little bit.
I'll go back to journaling tomorrow. I have no idea why I use food to comfort me..it's not like it really changes the situation. I am a emtional eater for sure. I need to do some research on it and see what else I can do so I don't have these backsliding events. They undo all I my hard work!
Ward: I laughed when you wrote about leaving your purse and turning into your mother. I'm going to check out the volumetrics link. I just hope I don't get hungry! lol
Mindy: I sure will cry tears of joy when I get below 200---heck I"ll cry when I get below 250!

Susie, are you doing better today? I am a stress eater, too. Well, all sorts of emotions, really.
I did Group Power and 52 min of cardio today. Eating is on plan.
I went by this little thrift store and found a cute dress for my husband's company holiday party. The best part - it was on clearance, so it was only $2! Want to see?
Ward- Cute!! Looks like you are ready to knock em dead at the party. Good for you.
Susie- Hang on and don't let the stress get to you. Be TOUGH!!!
Today my scale said, drum roll please, 201.2. :p A new low. I hope I can sneak out about 2 more pounds before the end of the month and see that magic number.
I went to school today with a new workout plan in my head. I was telling Kelly that I think we need to do Bob and BL more often and then Jillian on alternating days. We need to pump up the intensity. She had been thinking the same exact thing. We are so wierd. Then I hit my 50 pound loss today and she hit her 40 pound loss today. See what I mean? We are freaky.

Hi Ladies,
And the stress continues..but you know this morning I thought to myself, it's always going to be something. Then I asked myself, do I really want to loose this weight, because if I do, I've got to learn that there will always be a reason it's hard to do and I just need to go on. I'm wrapping my head around that thought today.
Ward: I love the dress...and what a deal!!!

I'm off to a meeting but wanted to check in. Talk to you all later.

Today I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. The weather is so yucky that I didn't feel like leaving the house. Well, I got to the gym but now I am staying put. Eating is on plan. I have tons of soup left and it will be perfect for this cold, rainy day.
I have challenges coming up for the next week - chili cook-off tomorrow, fall festival on Sun., Halloween carnival at school on Thurs., then Fri. I will be opening the candy, plus the kids will bring home scads from trick or treating. A treat here or there is ok, I just want to remain binge-free.
See you guys tomorrow!

Today was weigh-in. I was up a little at home to 201.8, but that was down .8 from last week. Got to school and her scale had me the same as last week. I was depressed. I just don't seem to be making any real progress. Every ounce that has come off has taken forever, plus a ton of work. Don't understand why it has become so difficult lately. Probably because I am so close to 200. It is taunting me.
Ward- Halloween!! Yuck!! I know there will be lots of goodies at our classroom party next week. I will choose one "bad" treat, and then some fruit. It's all down hill from here to the end of the year. This will be my first year going through the holidays with my new eating and exercising plan. I hope I survive it.
Susie- Yep, there is always something out there that we could lay the blame on. We can't let that happen. We must stick to our guns, no mater what. I know you can do it.

10-25-2008, 10:06 AM
Hello,
I made it through the stressfull work week and I got caught up with my work. I have a lot to start on Monday but it's current, so that feel good.
Now time to start catching up at home with things. I am one who has to have everything on a plan and organized and you know I seem to do that with every area but my own weight-loss, so thinking about that I have answered my question as to why I haven't lost anything this year. I have not had it organized and planned. Now I know what I need to do.
To that effect my plan for right now is to show a 10 lb loss for the year. It's almost 8 weeks until the new year, plenty of time to loose 10 lbs...that is if I get started and work hard, which I'm ready to do. Ready is that I have a notebook and a calorie counting book that I can carry with me at all times so I write it all down as I go and not waiting until it's over and I have to play catch up--that's where I get off track. Keeping track of my food is where I get off track. I love to workout so I don't have issues there.
I'm going to add a track here to keep track of the 10 lb goal. Seeing it there will help keep me focuses--I know seeing Mindy's keeps me motivated.
Mindy: You have come so far and yes it has been slow and hard work...but think about how much better you feel and look.
Ward: Your upcoming week does sound challenging. I know that you have trouble with binging (as do I), maybe this week writing it down and keeping track will help keep you from overdoing it?

Susie- I am so excited for you. I ALWAYS have my journal and write down and count everything. I swear it is my lifesaver. I just don't eat things unless I know how many calories they have. I love the ticker. You are so on track.
I was feeling really bad yesterday because it has seems like I am not making any progress at all lately. Well I looked back at my journal today and realized tha in the last month I have lost almost 5 pounds. It is not a lot, but seems to be pretty normal for me I guess. It is working it just seems like it's taking foreer to get below 200. It is probably because I want it so much. Patience Mindy, patience.
See ya later.

Susie, you can do it. Writing everything down is a great way to stay accountable. I keep my food journal on the computer - I am a number nerd so I like to see the reports and stuff.
Mindy, I know it must seem like slow progress to you, but I look at your ticker and it says you have lost almost 50 pounds. 50 pounds!!! That is amazing progress and something you should be really proud of.
As for me, I couldn't even wait until the week-end to fall off the wagon. I had a binge yesterday. yuck. I am trying to stay on track today. Breakfast was good, workout was good (Group Ride, 55 min cardio). I went to the grocery store to buy stuff for the chili cook-off and didn't stray into the baked goods, so I am hanging on.
See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone! I feel like I am finally back on the wagon full force. I have been eating right (even on the weekend) for the last couple of weeks and it is really paying off. I had gained a few pounds over the summer from my total lack of working out, and I have slowly but surely taken it back off and then some. So far I have lost about 10 pounds since school started (I am bummed that some of it I had to take off twice), and I am more steadily going down. I am now down to the lowest weight I have been since starting this journey in January: 194. I feel like a whole different person. Now I just want those small victories like going down to the next 10 (like seeing the 180's).
Susie--Good for you for carrying that journal with you everywhere. Like Mindy, I calculate everything before eating it. I am now at the point where I don't need to carry my journal with me, because I eat pretty much the same stuff during the day, so when dinner rolls around, I can quickly jot down what I have eaten for the day and figure out how many calories I have left. I reduced my calories about a month ago to 1400, and at first it was really tough. Now I wonder how I ever ate more than that. You are doing awesome, Susie--Keep up the good work!
Wardhog--Looking good in that dress!! It really makes me want to work even harder so I can get down to that size someday. Now, don't feel like you have to answer, but I am always curious. I know you are like 125 pounds. What size does someone wear when they are 125 pounds? It always amazes me that people can weigh very different amounts and wear the same size. Like Mindy and I. We are very close to the same weight, but she still wears a smaller size than I do. My brother's ex-girlfriend wore a size 0, but I don't know how much she weighed. If you feel like answering, just out of curiosity, what size do you wear?
Mindy--I am so proud of you. You continue working harder and harder day in and day out. Your body is getting so small! I know the scale doesn't always show it, but you are becoming unrecognizable! I love working out with you and I have missed it the last two days. You inspire me, and thinking about how hard you are working makes me want to work hard, too. Plus, you are catching up with me, and I can't have that, now can I?;) By the way, I thought about you for the last half hour as Bob kicked my butt--I just kept thinking, "If Mindy was here next to me I wouldn't stop", so I just kept going and going. So, thank you!!
Talk to everyone later!
P.S. Yay for me! I won the BL contest this past week! 2.5 pounds lost!

You are such a great group of ladies! You have all done so well this year and I really haven't, yet you keep believing in me and giving me hope with your posts and your suggestions.
Kelly & Mindy: What a great idea to caculate the food BEFORE I eat. I will start doing that. Thank you for the suggestion.
Ward: I'm sorry that you had a binge--any idea why? How do you get back on track after one? Sometimes if I binge it's days before I can get back on track and I wish I could turn it around faster and get back on track.
I'll see everyone tomorrow.

Well, it turned into a three day binge. I hope I can keep it on track today. I mean, I will! Yesterday I didn't have much time to work out, so I did the hardest thing I could think of, which was the stair mill, for one hour. Today I did Group Power, 27 min on the stair mill, and a 3 mi run. Eating is on plan so far today.
Kelly, you asked me what size I wear, and the answer is, it depends. ;) In pants, maybe an 8; a 6 in a dress; maybe a medium top. It seems like every brand is different, and then you throw in vanity sizing and I just don't know any more. (The black dress is a 9/10.)
Oh well. I have my annual gyn appt. on Wed. so I wonder what she will say about my weight. I only started seeing her after I had kids, so by the time my son was a year old, my weight was down to around 125 and stayed there for two years. Then when I saw her last year she had her nurse put me on the scale twice because she thought she made a mistake. I was like, "No, I have gained a lot." It was embarrassing. Anyway, I hope she doesn't make a big deal out of it. Is it weird that being weighed is what I hate most about a gyn appt.?

Hi Ladies,
This looking up my food before I eat it is a god-send! I feel so much more in control. I think it's because I get to decide if it's worth it before I eat it and then I don't find out later that I went over my limit and I then get the attitude that I'll just go ahead and have whatever because I already blew it for the day and I'll start new tomorrow.
Ward: It can be so hard to stop a binge but I know you can do it and I think the thing that keeps you on track are your workouts. So, since you got your workout in today you are already getting back on track.
About that appt. I have been known to put mine off for a couple of months just so I could loose some weight--isn't that crazy!?
I'm back to work..talk to you tomorrow.

Ward- Yep sizes ar wierd. When I was 145 I was a size 12 jean. Now I am 200ish and a size 16. It seems that at this rate I will be a much smaller size at 145 than I was before. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Oh, and my DD is about 150 and a size 6 or 8, depending.
Susie- Good job looking things before they hit your mouth. That is the only way i can do it. I can't handle getting to the end of the day and finding out i have seriously overate. Of course I have been doing this for a while and I'm pretty good at eating about the right calories everyday.
I am having my mid-cycle gain and just have to laugh about it. I went up 2 pounds yesterday and another 1/2 today. I am back up to 204.4 I know what is happening and just have to be patient and wait for it to go away. URGH!! I HATE MY BODY!!!

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to let you know that I"m still on the wagon. I"m looking up my food before eating it and journaling those calories. I've not gone over my limit one day this week...I am very proud of that.
It's been a very crazy busy week. My manager at work has taken another position and I've been busy tranistioning him out and other team members taking on his responsibilities. I am the nucleus for all of it so I've been pulled in many directions this week.
My workouts have suffered a bit this week. That's ok, sometimes. BUT I will get back in the swing of them on Sunday. I have plenty to do around home Friday and Sat to count for workouts. I hope to get all my wood floors mopped this weekend and all my fall/winter clothes out and closets organized starting tonight and tomorrow, so that Sunday I can relax, go to the gym and gear up for the week.
We didn't have TOPS last night due to it being trick-or-treat night in our town so I won't have a weigh-in report this week.
I will be back on Sat or Sunday to post and will do personals then. Everyone stay strong and stay away from the Halloween candy so that treat doesn't end up a trick on the hips!
WardHog
10-31-2008, 12:49 PM
Susie, those kind of workouts count! And they get things accomplished at the same time.
Mindy, I admire you for being able to have one sweet treat. I know that if I have one, I'll probably have 25. I just need to stay away from the candy.
I did Group Power and 40 min of cardio today. Eating is on plan, but I have just had some pretty bad news. It doesn't directly affect me, but is devastating to my SIL and my nephew and makes me very sad. I hope I can process it without diving into the candy bag.
See you guys tomorrow.

I had a great workout today. I did Group Ride and the instructor picked a whole bunch of good songs. Then I did 55 min of additional cardio. Eating is on plan, although I am feeling hungry. I just finished my lunch and packed in a lot of protein, so that should help.
I had one fun size pack of M&Ms last night, but it was well within my calorie limit. How did you guys do?

I survived Halloween parties. I had a few tortilla chips with salsa and a couple of no bake cookies. They were very small. I have worked my tail off today. I went in to school for about 4 hours to move the rest of my stuff that I had left in the kindergarten room. I found out Thursday I was not going to get to go back, so i needed to clear out. Even though I worked hard today, I am not finished. It is amazing how much stuff I have.
I came home and went for 3 mile walk. I am going to go grocery shopping in a little bit. I think I will be ready to relax tonight. My 4 pound gain is almost gone. I was down to 202.2 today. When I hit 201.5 I'll know I am back down. I need to get lower. I am hoping to at least dip under 200 before TOM. arrives. :crossed:

Hi Guys,
I spent the day cleaning house and closets. It feels good to have that done.
I did well with the candy until today. I started out eating one here, then one there and then another one and when I went for my 4th one I walked out to the garage and threw it all in the trash can so I would leave it alone.
I'm still within my calories allowance but it was getting out of control quickly.
I'm looking foward to turning those clocks back tonight so I can get an extra hour of sleep tonight.
I told myself that in November I would start going back to the Y on Sunday's so I plan on doing that tomorrow. I'm almost back to working out for 45 min now at a time.
Ward: I'm proud of you for not binging on the candy. I think you and I are a lot a like that we just can't start on it or we get in trouble quickly.
Mindy: I believe that you will see 199 by the 2nd week of December.
Kelly: How are you doing?
See you guys tomorrow.

Not much else going on today. I did get a nap in.
Mindy: I told you that 199 is very close. Stay away from the doughnuts and cookies.

I'm on plan today and will do my Firm class tonight and will add a 30 min walk afterwards.
I've already voted in the election so I'm doing ok personally. Now I just need to know some things out professionally.
Ward: I can't even imagine being below goal..good for you! When you know that you have some food events coming up it is good to be below goal just a little.

Mindy, I am going to be so excited when you hit that number!
What a day! I have been on the run since 8am, and I just now finished lunch at 2:30pm. I was tempted to grab something on the road because I was starving, but I waited and had a normal lunch at home.
I did 1 hour of cardio, then ran my kids up to my Mom & Dad's (30 min each way), then waited two hours to vote, then did another hour of cardio, went to the grocery store while kid-free, ate lunch and now I'm going to hit the shower. After that I will pick up the kids and then probably collapse. Anyway, I accomplished the things I wanted to so it's all good.

Hi,
Tonight is TOPS weigh-in. I'm almost scared to go...I'm afraid if the scales didn't go down some I'm going to be so disappointed.
I feel I've been pretty much on plan. Looking at my journal I can see that I've had a couple of soda's that I should not have had and one day to many snack size candy bars but I've worked out a lot and when I did overdo on those treats I tried to cut back other places--not the most healthy thing to do but I did what I could.
I know it's a relearning processes and every time I get off track I have to retrain myself.
I'm headed down for a late lunchtime workout. I had a meeting that lasted longer than planned and by the time I got out it was the busy time at the gym at work so I ate at my desk and decided to go a little later.
Ward: Don't worry about that small gain; it most likely is water and besides, you are on plan and it will come back off.
Kelly: Hope you are doing well.
Ok..got to run. See you tomorrow.

My family gets together for Thanksgiving. We are a small group. Mom, Dad, sister and niece, my family and maybe a friend or two. It's casual and we all contribute. Good thing is, my sister has been losing weight also, so we will probably both make some lower cal things.

Hello,
I am happy to report a 2 lb loss! I really, really needed to see those scales move down, now that they have I'm ready to get with it again this week (my weightloss weeks go from Thursday-Thursday since that is my weigh-in day at TOPS). I had some really good workouts this week and seemed to be eating more often so that I didn't ever let myself get really hungry and overeat. I would pack my breakfast, my lunch and a snack for the ride home before I went to work out and I would eat some of my breakfast at 7:30, then more of it at 9:30 or 10, then lunch at noon, more of it at 2 and then my snack at 4:30..so maybe that is the plan I need to do.
Ward: Thank you for reminding me that even when things get crazy I need to plan my workouts and other tools that are working for me and get them in first.
Mindy: Looks like you are doing well.
For Thanksgiving we will get together with friends. I really don't have a problem with holiday food unless I am alone with it. I tend to do my overeating in private-there is another key for me...never eat alone or where people can't see me.
I have had one crazy busy week and I really missed you guys--I must get to work but I thought to myself this morning, I must really get to the board...and I'm glad I made it a priority.
Talk to you later. I'll be around off and on this weekend.

It sounds like you both will have kind of low-key Thanksgivings. We are traveling as usual. We normally go to my Grandma's in Arkansas, but this year we're going to Pennsylvania to see the in-laws. I need to start thinking about the packing soon. :sigh:
Today I did Group Power and 45 min of cardio. Eating is on plan. We're getting together with family on Sunday to celebrate my birthday (44 - woot!) and I am sure my Mom will send me home with 1/2 a cake. If I'm not careful I could eat my way through my birthday, Thanksgiving, and on to Christmas and New Year's. There's just so much going on at this time of year. Ah, well - one day at a time.
See you tomorrow!

Ward- Packing and traveling again? It is kind of nice to just stick around home, but there are times I might like to travel somewhere. Sounds like fun.
So since I hit 199.8 I gained 3 TOM pounds. I have currently lost 2.5 of them so I was back down to 200.4 today. I am looking forward to getting back under again, and with a little cushion. I live for the day when I don't pop back over again. I hope that is by the end of the year.

Mindy, you will be staying under 200 by the end of the year.
I am not looking forward to the travel. Navigating the Atlanta airport on the day before Thanksgiving with two little kids is like the tenth circle of ****. I will gladly switch places with you!
Today I did Group Ride and 52 min on the stair mill. I seriously thought I was going to throw up, so I backed down the level for the last 7 minutes or so. I'm not sure what that was all about. Eating is on plan.

Today was great. The scale said 199.2. A new low. I need a few more pounds to follow suit so when that MID-CYCLE gain shows up, I might not go back over 200. End of the year is certainly my goal for not seeing 200 ever again.
Ward- Good luck with the airport. You do work your *** off at the gym. You have got to be really buff. :o
Pippy- I see you are new and you have popped up on a few of the threads I'm on. Welcome and looking forward to getting to know you better. This is a great thread. We have been together since Jan. That's when I started my "journey." Stick around and be inspired and inspire us.

Last night I was involved in a car accident. No one was hurt so that's really good news.
My hubby and I were coming back from a wedding and it was dark and raining. We saw something in the road and could not miss it. We hit it and it fliattend the tires on my passenger side. We pulled over and saw that there were 3 other cars pulled over and a semi. We all hit the same thing which was a universal joint from the semi!
Now I get to deal with getting a rental, and dealing with the repairs and insurance...sigh....
I was planning on going to workout today but I don't have a car, so I guess I'll do a yoga tape and some ab work.
I'm doing ok with my food. I didn't even have wedding cake last night. It was getting late and they had not cut it yet so we left--mabye we should have stayed!
Ward: It takes a lot to pack and travel and I feel that way when I only have to pack me and the hubby! Make it as easy on yourself as you can..it's a short trip right? Jeans and pullovers for everyone!
Mindy: I believe that you will stay under 200 this time but it's a good plan to get a few more lbs under so you have the leway when you cycle shows up.
Welcome to Pippy. As you loose that 35 lbs you will feel the "years" melt away.
One last thing... HAPPY BIRTHDAY WARD!!!!:bday2you::celebrate::woo::gift:

Susie- Glad eveyone is okay. Accidents are always scary. Sometimes things work out in our favor, like leaving before the cake was cut. Today my DD and I were going to get a soft pretzels, but would have had to wait 7 min. So we left. We didn't need those extra calories, right??
Ward-:balloons: Have a small piece of cake and enjoy. It's not everyday you turn 44. Then put the cake behind you and move on.
Still under 200 today, just barely. Gotta keep going.

Well I thought I would be able to drop some serious weight this week. Well, it hasn't happened. I am just hanging around 200, over and under. What the ****!!! This has really become very difficult. At this rate it will take me another two years to get where I want to be. Guess i just have to keep going.

Mindy, I am sorry it's so frustrating. You're still down 50 pounds! 50!
I got up early (7am ) and ran with my girlfriends yesterday. They're training for a 1/2 marathon on Thanksgiving, so I went a little over 10 miles with them. I also ate a lot yesterday at lunch and beyond. My actual birthday is not until Wednesday, but I really appreciate the birthday wishes. :)
Today I did Group Ride and Group Power. Eating is on plan.
For tomorrow's Group Ride class the instructor let me pick my own mix of music. I am sure she will humiliate me as much as she can, but it's all good fun. I am bringing treats (snack size Clif bars and bananas) for the class so they won't hate me so much for picking all the hardest songs. ;)

Hang in there, you guys! We have made it almost a whole year of better choices!
My Group Ride class today was AWESOME! I hung my Happy Birthday banner from the handle bars of the bikes on the stage. I picked all of my favorite tracks (and they were all wicked hard) and we all sweated our guts out. Then I handed out the bananas and energy bars when it was over. They sang to me and made me feel really loved. :) The instructor said, "Good thing this day only comes once a year." She offers to do it for anyone having a birthday, but I'm only the second person to take her up on it. Anyway, it was great fun. Eating is on plan.

Ward- What a way to celebrate your birthday. Running 10 miles!!! OMG!!! Then having a fun birthday workout at the gym. How cool is that??? And healthy snacks to boot.
Susie- Keep on keepin on girl. Thursdays weigh-in is a comin. Hope you get another loss.
Today I was back under 200, 199.4. Over, under, over, under. Can I get a 198?? Amen!!!!
WardHog
11-19-2008, 08:58 PM
Oh yeah - you'll get that 198.
Susie, are you still wicked busy?
Today I did Group Power + 60 min cardio. Eating is on plan. I won't be able to work out tomorrow - we have a meeting in the morning, and then my son's Thanksgiving program is at 12. My daughter was home sick today from school with a fever and vomiting, so she'll be home again tomorrow, too. Poor thing was miserable. :(

11-20-2008, 03:51 PM
Today was super crazy, again. I got up early and ran 4.2 freezing miles (45 min). Then we went to our meeting and straight to my son's school. After that, I took my daughter to the pediatrician. She has strep throat (poor girl) and can't go to school tomorrow, either. So, no gym for me tomorrow. I am glad I did something today. Eating is on plan, although all this activity is making me stressed, and therefore, I want to eat. :sigh: The only thing that's keeping me on plan right now is tomorrow's weigh in.
So how are you guys?
mtiger
11-20-2008, 06:49 PM
Well I saw 198.8 today. I really want to be under 200 for tomorrows weigh-in at school. A lower 198 wold be good too. It's trickling off, ever so slowly, but it is coming off. I just have to keep up momentum.
Ward- Sorry for your little sick one. Keep on rolling.
Kelly- I know you read. So why not post already. People would like to hear from you. :smug:
Susie- I know today is weigh-in. GOOD LUCK!!!

I know, I'm bad. I feel like I am eavesdropping all the time since I read most every day, but don't post. My kids are usually driving me crazy and I have to stop to discipline. I am doing ok, this morning I saw 189.5 briefly. A few minutes later it said 190, but still my lowest ever! I have been sick this week, and super busy, so not much time to work out. Next week is not looking better. We only have 2 days of school, so I won't be able to work out with Mindy much.
Susie--I'm so glad to hear you are finally losing! You deserve it! Hope to hear about another loss tonight.
Ward--Happy Birthday! You continue to do awesome!
Mindy--It doesn't matter what the scales say, you continue to look skinnier and skinnier! You of all people will be able to resist Thanksgiving dinner and continue to lose. (Although maybe a Thanksgiving cheat meal is what your body needs to jump start!)

Hello,
I missed you guys. I can't believe how crazy my work is these days. It is fullfilling though and not going unnoticed. I was given a $100 Power of You award for a project that I just completed and I have been told that there will be an extra increase in my salary by the end of the year.
I had another loss Thursday night 1.25 lbs. I was pleased. I won't have a weigh-in next Thursday due to the holiday but I will weigh in on my scales. This doesn't just stop because I don't have that official weigh-in.
I am getting a pedicure today. I feel guilty about spending the money but I feel I need to do something nice for myself and my feet look horrible so I am going to do it and looking forward to it.
Ward: I hope your daughter is feeling better. I loved the way you celebrated your birthday.
Mindy: What a nice number to see on the scales.

Ok...got to get started with my day.

It would be nice to come back from Thanksgiving either the same weight or a little loss. No gains here, okay???

Checking in to see how everyone is doing and if you have your action plan in place for Thanksgiving.
Mine is that I get to eat everything I want but on in a portion control and just one portion.
Kelly530
11-25-2008, 08:17 PM
Susie--I agree. I am going to have only one portion, too. I may skip some of the things I can have any old time, like rolls. I will just have to make sure I don't overdo the turkey and mashed potatoes. I could fill up a whole plate of mashed potatoes. I'm not a stuffing lover, so I could probably skip that, too. I am taking a veggie, cheese, and cracker tray to my mom's house for Thanksgiving, so I will have to be sure to load up on veggies. Good luck to everyone!

I swear, I feel like I can do nothing but complain today. Kids are driving me crazy. I finally get up the ambition to go to the basement and work out during my daughter's nap today, and she wakes up about 2 minutes into the DVD. I kept going, but she bugged me the whole time (gotta love those 2 year olds). My knee has been really bothering me, and it hurt pretty bad during my workout. Tonight I'm limping. Mindy, I guess it is knee brace shopping for us. Oh, and I've gained two pounds since last week. Ok, enough whining for me. I have to find a way to get more positive. Quickly.

Hello,
I did very well on Thanksgiving and didn't over do it. It felt great not to be stuffed to the gills.
Friday I did some shopping and today hubby and I worked out in the yard for about an hour, just cleaning up some things in the flowerbeds, and yard. It was chilly out but nice and sunny and when we got to moving it wasn't cold at all. Those two things have been the exent of my exercise.
Mindy: I can't believe you went running but good for you!
Kelly: Hopefully things turned out better for you after you posted.
We have friend arriving in a about and hour and I need to finish getting ready so I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

I, too, did not overdo it on Thanksgiving. I agree, Susie, it felt great not to be so stuffed I felt like napping. I even got in some exercise. I went down and played on my mom's Wii Fit for about 20 minutes, then came home and kickboxed for another 30 minutes. Believe it or not, that is the second time I have worked out this week, and I plan on doing more tonight. I am back down a little bit, but still up to 190.5. I want to get back down to 188.5, then down to 185 so I can hit my 50 pound mark by Christmas. Maybe more???? Let's hope.
Good for you, Mindy and Susie for keeping things under control for the holiday that is all about food!

Hi,
I was doing so well yesterday. I ate a good breakfast and lunch and I even worked out at lunch.
When I came home from work, I just had to have some chocolate. I told myself, just a little--it turned into way more than I had planned. The good news is that I did stop, even when I didn't want to and I told myself that if in an hour I wanted more I could consider it--I kept myself very busy for that hour and I forgot about it and then remembered at 9:30 p.m. and I just decided to go to bed.
Usually I'm in a bad state of mind after something like that but I told myself this morning it's over, it's done and I will move on. I'm drinking my water--getting that sugar through my system and moving on. I have my workout bag with me for my workout after work tonight. Sometimes it takes a lot to keep on that wagon!
Ward: I'm glad you are back and I know you will be on plan soon..keep fighting.
Mindy: Nice to see those scales under 200 again.
Kelly: I believe you can hit that 50 mark by Christmas...come on...get moving!

Hello,
It looks like everyone has been busy--it tends to get this way this time of year!
I ended up with the flu this past week. I missed one day of work. I'm feeling like myself again but it has taken a few days.
So, I haven't been working out. The good news is that having the flu stopped my overeating. I'm off the sugar once again and I'm going to keep it that way.
I really hope to meet my end of the year goal of a 10 lbs; it's going to be hard because I just don't have the time nor the push to do it right now but I"m not about to just chuck it all. I'm still trying.
Mindy: How did the scales turn out? Thanks for the website...it will be good to have.
Ward: Are you back on plan?
I have a offsite meeting Monday and Tuesday--I might not get a chance to post again until Wed.

I want my routine back! There is a lot going on this month so I haven't been here much. My husband is wrapping up a project at work, so he hasn't been around home much, either. Anyway, I am doing my best to work out every day and I have been on my eating plan for the last week, since I got back from PA. My weight is still up somewhat, so I am glad I had some wiggle room there. I keep hoping to see it come back down, but those pounds are stubbornly hanging on.
Have a great Monday!

Doing ok. I can't figure out why I am not as committed to this weight loss chapter in my life as I was last January-June. I lost a bunch then, but once I stopped being vigilant in the summer, it has been really difficult. I have only really lost 7-10 pounds since the lowest weight I was in June. That is sad! I have got to get with the program. My nighttime snacking is what does me in every time. We were gone a lot this past weekend, which means a lot of eating out, which means I gain back everything I work so hard for during the week. UGH!! Last week I got down to 187.5 one day, and today I am back up to 190. We'll see what tomorrow holds. This weekend is going to suck, too. My niece has a birthday, we have 2 christmas parties, and a hockey tournament that keeps us eating concession stand food for our meals. It makes me want to give up until after the holidays, but on the other hand I still really want to get down to 185 by Christmas so I can have an even 50 pound overall loss. I guess we'll see how it all goes.

Ward: I am a routine person as well...I'll be glad when it gets back to that.
I wish you well on your mammogram tomorrow.
Mindy: I'll be anxious to see how your jump start plan turns out. I hope you reach the number you want by the date you want, but I want you to look at how much you have lost this year and be proud of that as well.
Kelly: It can be hard to get your frame of mind to where you want it to be. Just remember that success is in the trying...when you give up is the only time that you can't succeed.
Ok..back to my meeting. Only 2 more hours and I get to head home.

Tonight was kind of interesting. Kelly couldn't work out with me so I made up my own circuit workout. I would walk a lap around school, then jog a lap. Then I would do 1 min. of a strength exercise; things like wall squats, lunges, planks etc. It was hard and I feel it in my legs, especially inner thighs.
I really wish i had a personal trainer, or a gym. Maybe next year.
See ya tom.

Hey girls! Last nights workout has left me sore all over. And pissed off also. I had a meltdown in the shower this morning. The scale was not kind to me. I got everything from 201 down to 198. I think it really settled right around 200, maybe 199.8. I have been stuck here for so long and it just really got to me today.
So Kelly and I did BL Cardio Max for 30 min. tonight and I felt every little bit of it. Pain on top of pain. If something doesn't happen here soon I'll go over the edge.

Hi Ladies,
It has been the most crazy week. I worked and worked and worked. I didn't make it to my TOPS meeting, I didn't work out, I didn't log my food. I didn't really overeat but I didn't eat balanced.
Even though the holidays are just about here and I don't think I"m going to make my goal, I still plan to try.
This year was not the best for me with my weight loss goals. I won't show a gain but I won't show a loss. I've been thinking about all that and what I really want to do in the upcoming year and how I can do it. I'm tired of failing and I really want my weight off.
It looks like the holidays are putting a lot of pressure on all of us...just remember, we will get through this, things will get back to normal and we can all gear up again. The important part to me is that I just don't get off track. I might not loose during these last two weeks but I'm not going to gain.
I've got to get busy this morning. Cleaning house, wrapping presents. Making something for a party we are going to tonight. It's just crazy busy isn't it?!
Hang in there. I will be around more now that my traveling is over with and whiile work will be busy this week I'm in the office everyday and that will help.
I am a routine person.

Hello,
I just can't seem to find the time (or I just am not making the time) to work out. Because of that I know I have to be very careful with my food. Right now I'm doing ok. I got off the sugar a few weeks ago and I haven't had any. I'm skipping the cookies, cakes, fudge--I feel better for it. I do have a couple of pieces of peanut butter fudge in the freezer--I love this stuff and I told myself I can have it when I do a week of workouts. I might not get to have that until the new year!
Ward: Your husband's b-day dinner sounds really good. I hope you did ok with the cake.

Girls I just don't know what to do. The scale has gone up two days in a row now. I ate about 1200-1300 calories and worked out pretty hard both days. Something has got to give here. Taking a little break didn't do any good. I am going to try eating 1500 calories for a while, see what that does. I don't know what else to try.
Had our school Christmas party last night. I just nibbled, so I didn't do bad at all. I had one brownie thing and a small piece of fudge for desserts. Hard to count calories though. So I'm back to counting today. Let's see what happens.
Ward- You are doing awesome.
Susie- Good job on giving up the sweets. PB fudge in the freezer. that would kill me.

Hi,
I had planned to work out tonight after work and then my computer had a meltdown, my manager needed me for a million things and I left work an hour later than I planed. It's cold, it's wet, and I just came home.
Tomorrow is our taste of the business day. Everyone will bring goodies and it will be out all day long. I made plans to go have a "proper" lunch with a friend so I don't just eat on that stuff all day long.
Mindy: I can feel that you are getting frustrated. I know it's tough when you want to get to a certain number by a certain time...hang in there.
Ward: How are you doing?
Kelly: I hope you are doing ok too.
Has anyone thought about next year and if we will continue this thread or start a new one?

Well I found a way to get rid of a little weight. I had a South Beach turkey wrap for lunch yesterday. It must have been bad. I have been sick for the last 24 hours. Not fun. But, I have lost some weight. I also started eating more calories 2 days ago. I am trying for no less than 1500 a day. Let's see what happens.
Hang in there girls. Don't let the holidays get the best of us.

Well I about fell off the scale today. I was 196.4, down almost 3 pounds from yesterday. Could explain why I was peeing all day. Don't know if it will stick, but I can hope.

Just wanted to pop in. I'm putting together my stragety for reaching my goal in 2009--since I didn't reach it in 2008 (or even make a dent in it).
I'll share it with you all soon.
Mindy: I'm glad the scales went down for you--I hope it stays there for you!
Got to get back to work.
Bye!

Well I am happy. The scales are staying down in the 196's. I was worried it would just pop right back up. Maybe, If I'm real lucky, I can sneek down to 195 before Christmas. We'll see. I think that working out a little less and eating a bit more might be the key. I hope so.
Well I just took a little break to go help my son get his car out of the driveway, and then the road. We have so much snow it is ridiculous. Then a friendly man had to pull him out and back onto the road. FUN!! I then proceeded to shovel for about a half hour. I didn't get far. And it is still snowing to beat the band. Well I got in a little cardio for the day.
Susie- I for sure know how frustrating this weight loss thing can be. You know that. I am always trying to find the right mix that works for me. Sometimes I lose, sometimes I don't. Here is my one word of advice. Go to caloriecount.com and figure out what you should eat to lose. Trust what they say and stick with it. Then add in 2 or 3 days of exercise and see what happens. Good luck, let me know how it goes.
Ward- Haven't heard from you in a few days. I hope everything is going well for you.

Well here goes my stupid body doing it's weird thing again. After being 196 something for 3 days, I popped up to 198. Why?? Who knows. It has stayed there now for 2 days. I am trying to eat more and work out 30 min. a day, but not everyday. Who knows what's up.
Susie- Hope you are figuring out what you need to do.
Kelly- Hope you're at least maintaining.
Wardhog- Hope everything is okay with you.

Hi there,
Life is moving to fast right now! I do have a surprise to tell you about. When I weighed in at TOPS last Thursday I lost 4 lbs! I have no idea how..but I'll take it.
I think that I just ate what I wanted but not a lot and I know that I ate more often. I have done that before and it seems to work, so that is something I will think about as I'm working on my stratagey for next years goal.
Mindy: I hope the scales are looking the way you want them to. I have looked up how many calories I need to eat before and it tells me something like 2,500-2,700--that just seems like way to much!

Hi everyone!
Well, I am just maintaining right now. I need to get exercising again. I got three new DVD's for Christmas so far. BL Bootcamp, BL Yoga, and Shape Pilates. I am excited to do them (which in my former life, I never would have dreamed I would be excited to work out). I am hoping after the holidays I can get back to work and back into a normal routine like last January and kick it into high gear. I would like to lose this last 40 pounds in the coming year (by summer would be nice), and I just need to stay in routine.
Mindy--you know your body has little blips in the road. Have you been getting your calories up like you had been trying to? Maybe try a South Beach turkey wrap....:p
Wardhog--haven't seen you in a while. I hope that doesn't mean you're off on a binge somewhere. You are probably just at the gym!
Susie--Congrats on the loss last week!! I know what you mean about the calories. It seems like when I used an internet calculator to see how many I should be eating it said something ridiculous too. I read in a Biggest Loser book, though, that you should take your current weight and multiply it by 7. That would give you the amount of calories you should eat to lose. I would think if you are working out, too, you would even bump up the calories by maybe 100 a day just to replenish yourself after a workout. Keep up the good work!
I am disappointed I am not going to reach my Christmas goal of 185, but I think 187.5 is close and respectable. This year I lost 47.5 pounds, and I am proud of myself! I love the way clothes fit, and it is exciting that clothes I bought last spring after losing 30 pounds are now way too big, too! I just keep that in mind every time I get discouraged. Have a wonderful holiday, ladies!!!!

Hi there,
I'm doing ok..staying on program..at least my program for the holidays which is a couple of sweets per day, smaller portions and trying to get in more protein so I'm not hungry--not easy for someone who is not a big meat, poultry or fish eater.
Kelly: I think that 187.5 is very respectful and what is even more so is to hear you talk about your excitment over the exercise DVD's. What a change since the beginning of 2008!
Thanks for the tip on taking my weight and multiplying it by 7..that looks way better to me. I am going to go with that amount of calories and as I lose weight adjust it. Thank you so much for that information.
Mindy and Ward: I hope you are both doing ok and I'm looking forward to your posts!

I am happy to see you guys posting and sticking with your plans, whatever they may be. I'm just going to say, my weight is up and I hope it is just my mid-cycle gain. I'm trying to just move on.
I have been baking the last few days and hope to give most away to the family over the holidays. I, like Susie, am having a few treats a day. That's it. Can hardly wait for the first of the year to get 100% back on track. Downside is, I have to go back to work too. Not looking forward to that as much.
Enjoy the holidays girls!!

Hello Ladies,
I hope you all had a lovely Christams and that it's starting to feel like things are getting back to normal.
Are you thinking about your New Years Eve resolutions? Do we want to keep this thread going in 2009? I would like to. I"m not sure how to start a new thread, does anyone else?
I'm off to the mall to return 2 things and hubby and I are going to see a movie this afternoon. I think we are going to see Austrailia with Nichole Kidman.
Tomorrow I have a family dinner to get through. I 'm actually doing ok with the food.
I'm planning to work out on Sunday. Nothing big..just a 30 min walk at the Y to get myself back into the workout mode.
Got to run--see you all later.

Susie- I of course want to keep it going. I'm like you though, I don't know how to start a new thread. Maybe we can get Wardhog bak in here to do it for us. If not, I'll try to figure it out. I can ask friends on another thread.
Well today the evidence of too many goodies is showing. I was 201 on the scale, inspite of working out last night. It is time to get back with the program and move forward. I sent a plate of goodies with my DD to work today. I am also taking some to our last family Christmas get together today. One more day of holiday eating to get through.
Have a great time with your workout susie. It feels good to get back in the swing of things.
Wardhog- I hope you come back to us soon.
Kelly- Hope to hear how the last few days have been going for you.

I am here - just lurking while shoving cookies into my mouth. I will definitely be in for a new thread for the New Year. Working out has been good, but my eating has been really bad. I am afraid to face the scale so I am just avoiding it. So bad!
I am glad you guys have held it together better than I have. I can't wait to get back into the groove.

I cannot wait for this next week to be over. I have no willpower whatsoever when I am at home all day. I feel like all I do is eat. The pantry just calls my name. I am lucky I am maintaining for the most part. Throughout the week I have bounced between 188 and 190. Most of the time 188.5. I need to be back at work and in a routine. I tried to work out one day, which felt great at the time, but then I coughed all night long. My daughter and I have had walking pneumonia, and I think my lungs just aren't ready to be worked out yet. I should try some weights or pilates or yoga or something. Maybe those won't be quite as taxing on my lungs.
I will continue to read and post when I can.
Ward--will you set us up again and let us know where to go?

Hi guys,
Today was my last family dinner for the holiday season. Thank goodness. I didn't do to badly but the cheesball called my name more than I wished it would have...it even came home with me. I will have some of it tomorrow and then I'm putting the rest in the trash.
It sounds like most of us are really looking forward to our normal weekly routines. Mine won't really happen until Jan 5 when I go back into the office for work but I will be at home by myself on Mon & Tues while hubby is at work and I have some organizing to get done here so I think I'll feel in a bit more of a routine instead of going all the time or when we are at home sitting on the couch and watching movies and reading and napping and then eating at all hours.
I'm glad that you all want to start a new thread. It looks like Ward will set us up for it. I think it would be easy to find in we call it The January Club 2009. Just a thought for the name.
Ward: You can call the thread anything that you want to...I'm just glad that we will all be here again.
I'm sorry that you have been on a binge with the cookies and such but at least you are moving. I have been lurking around that binge thread and I can say that I truly am a binger..that is where my issue lies so I have some "feelings and emotions" to work through while I work on losing my weight in 2009. I have felt for quite a while this sort of thing applied to me and I can say for sure it is me. So I know now where I need to start and will be learning more about it so I can overcome it.
It's good to have you back with us Ward!
Mindy: Those scales will go right back down once you get into the routine again. You have done a great job of holding them pretty steady.
Kelly: I can tell you are excited to get back into your routine and to get busy and loose more weight in 2009...you will do it!
Ok. I'm going to get the ornaments off the tree and the tree back in the box...at least that will be done. I'll see you all tomorrow.

Yesterday was also my last family get together, so I am over that hump. I even had a few drinks, which I don't usually do. Most of the cookies are gone and it is time to get back to seriousness.
Wardhog- Glad you are back. You know you never have to feel bad around us. The past has passed and it is time to move forward. 2009 will be the year we meet our goals.
Kelly- You are doing great at maintaining over the holidays. Good for you. I don't want to talk about my weight. Since it was 60 degrees here yesterday I went out for 2 mile walk/jog. Then I got rained on.
Today we have not had power. It went out in the middle of the night and it was freezing this morning. It is now back on and the house is warming up again.
See ya tom.

Hi,
I'm doing good with my food today. I have wanted to have something off plan here and there..the good news is that there is nothing like that in the house to have. Still I feel that desire, so I'm telling myself when that comes that I can out wait it and the desire that I want to be able to buy normal, not plus size clothes and to feel good when I see myself in my clothes and not see the rolls around my middle, is a much stronger desire than the food I want. I'm going to be having a lot of these self-talks..I need to reprogram my mind.
Mindy: I hope your electric comes back on soon. Good for you for going for the walk!
I'll see you all tomorrow.

Good morning Ladies.
I'm up early this morning so I can get some housework and organization done. The New Year is just about upon us.
I bought a new journal yesterday; so I'm getting ready.
You know, I was looking through my closet of my "good things" trying to pick out something to wear New Years Eve. I have kept a lot of things that I bought when I was down to 239 three years ago, and I have pictures of me in those things. I look so good! I want to look that way again and I can and will...2009 I will!
In my mind 239 is not where I really want to be, but looking back on it, I really look good, so I'm shooting to get back there and then keep going from there.
I'm not waiting until then; I'm starting today. I don't want to waste one more day of my life. That is what I have been doing.
I hope you all have a great day and I look forward to your posts!

Susie, I am glad you are getting into the healthy mindset for next year. I have no doubt that you will be successful. So much of this is a mental struggle.
Did you get your power back on, Mindy?
I decided to weigh myself this morning and it was not pretty, but not unexpected, either. I stayed on my plan yesterday and I am feeling strong and committed. A few weeks off plan can not erase a whole year of healthy habits! Exercise has been good and I am going to spin today (if I can get a bike - my gym has been packed). The kids will be out of school the rest of this week, and my husband will be off Thurs. and Fri. I can't wait to get back to a normal routine.
See you tomorrow.

Yes we have power!!! Man did it get cold though. I took advantage of that time to go run errands, in the warm stores.
It is so good to hear about everyone's plans for getting on track and with the program. 2008 was pretty successful for me. I lost about 50 pounds, even though I am still up a bit. One more round in 2009 and I should be able to join wardhog on the maintainers thread. Now there's a goal. I am back to measuring and logging everthing.
Did some Wii fit and Wii Jillian yesterday at Kelly's house. I feel it in my arms. Then I came home and did Jillian's Shred for 20 min. with my DD BFF. She got tired. I think that is funny. She is 23 and a former ROTC member and she was tired. Yeah me!! The scale was down a pound today.

Mindy--I am so glad that pound came off today. The last two days I have gone down on the scale. Maybe that yoga and stuff on the Wii is helping??! I have been stuck for so long, and all of a sudden I dropped 2 pounds? Crazy. I guess I will do some more Wii today! I really think your problem the last week or so has been Summer Syndrome. Off work, sitting home, out of routine. We'll have to crank it back up next week!
Wardhog--You look terrific in your new avatar! Glad you are back on track!
Susie--Your outlook on the new year is great! I feel the same.

Thank you for the compliment on my picture. I look like I have had about 11 glasses of wine, but that was the first one!
So, January clubbers - how did you do in 2008? I am a complete numbers nerd, so I keep an exercise spreadsheet. The final tally is:
cardio: 18,653 min.
Group Power classes: 131
Group Ride classes: 152
Group Centergy: 3 (yeah, it's my favorite!)
total exercise minutes: 34,597 (577 hours, an average of 95 min. a day)
And despite the large gain over the last six weeks or so, I am down 26 pounds since Jan. 1 last year.
I will start the new thread tomorrow and I will be looking for all of you there. I am so happy to have been on this journey with you for the last year, and I am looking forward to continuing next year! :grouphug:

Hi Everyone,
It feels excitng today doesn't it? Knowing that we have a whole new year ahead of us and all the possibilites that are out there.
The 3 of you did so well in 2008...I didn't but I learned a lot about myself and I stuck with coming here for a whole year, that is a big change for me and I know that those things have no prepared me to loose my weight and get my exercise routine going just as you all have. I'm so glad you will all be there with me in 2009 and I can't wait to be celebrating with you all this time next year.
Ward: YOU rock woman! Those numbers for exercise look great and so does your new picture. Also, a 26 lb loss is a good loss. Congratulations to you.
Mindy and Kelly: You two teamed up and kicked butt and I'm really proud of all you have done.
I need to start getting ready for our New Years Eve dinner. We ladies are wearing fancy dresses and our guys are wearing suits. We have reservations at 7:30 p.m.
I'll be looking for the thread tomorrow...Happy New Years to all of you!
