OK! We'll try this again. Hopefully no more crashes, right?? This thread is for anyone. You do not have to belong to WW, you don't have to weigh in on Thursdays. You just have to come to this thread and have a good time with us!!!! :carrot:

06-08-2008, 12:30 PM
Jeanne - Congrats on your loss. Way to go.
Hello all. I apologize for not being in as often as I should. I have determined that I need to check in daily for accountability. I haven't been OP for a while now and I can say that it has not been good. With that said though my DH and I will be starting back as of tomorrow (June 9). I'm excited to say the least and look forward to getting this weight off.
I also already have my exercise program figured out. I have a membership at a local gym. I will go there 6 days a week and work out for an hour and then I plan on doing the WII Fit at home.
I will check in tomorrow with my menu for the day.
06-08-2008, 03:37 PM
Hey, what's up with the threads????? I know I started a Thursday Weigh-In Results for June thread. Where is it?????
We just returned from a little vacation. It was so good to get away. It was especially nice for Larry.
Y'all please be thinking of my mother. She was taken to the E R while we were away. She was dehydrated and had an infection.
For any newer members, my mother had a stroke several years ago and has stroke-caused dementia. I'll find out more today from my sister.
I'm tired and I gained several pounds---inspite of very healthy breakfasts. :) It was those lunches and suppers that got me.
06-09-2008, 10:21 AM
Good morning all-I'm not MIA my computer is down so I have to use the one at work-still trying to stay on program-still walking but seem to be stuck-oh well just have to stick with it-have a great monday and will try and be here later
06-09-2008, 05:26 PM
Just a quick note to say, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINA!!!!!!" WOO HOO!!! PARTY TIME!!!!!
06-09-2008, 06:45 PM
Thank you for the birthday wishes!!!
06-09-2008, 07:51 PM
Happy Birthday Tina.
Today was going quite well until I went to my BIL's basketball game. I just couldn't say no to the candy. I have got to find a snack that will fill my sweet tooth and not ruin my points. Hrm? Other than that, things are well.
06-09-2008, 08:53 PM
Jeanne, congrats on the loss!!! I want to lose too!!!
Dori, one of my friends has been doing that Wii Fit. She loves it! Glad to hear that you are back at it. I've been eating low sugar granola bars for my sweet tooth. There are different flavors, so I don't get bored with one.
Tina, I'm glad you were able to get away. lunches and dinners will do that to you!! What did you have good to eat tonight???
Maureen, hope your computer is up and running soon! Good for you for getting in the walking.
Tina, you know I told you on the phone that Tim's girlfriend was coming over early to surprise him? She called me and said she would be here about 6:40. Tim was supposed to get off work at 8. Guess who pulled in at 6:30??? Tim got off at 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I texted her to let her know that he was here, and I managed to get him to the back room to check some things on the computer, so she was still able to surprise him. It was too funny!!!!
06-10-2008, 02:43 PM
Happy Birthday Tina!!!!!!!
06-10-2008, 11:46 PM
Hey there!! Not much happening here. Tim's gf left about 6. They are going to start getting together every week instead of every other week. That might help them make it through the summer. Very attached. (and that's ok!) I met friends for lunch, then I went to give blood, then I met other friends for supper. Tried to do it all in one day. Tomorrow I have the class at the Y, then I'm meeting a couple more people for lunch. I am on the go all the time, and I like it! lol
06-11-2008, 01:11 AM
Hey, I want some of Tammy's energy.
Tammy, what all have you been eating at your lunches and suppers? :)
It's good that Tim is so happy with a new girl friend.
Jeanne, I guess you'll have a busy summer with your kids.
Dori, have you tried the WW frozen treats? If not, give them a try.
Susan, you are way too quiet. But, I know end of school was tiring.
Maureen, I'm sorry about your computer.
Well, my dishwasher decided to stop. Larry says it's the motor. I haven't had to wash dishes in ages and I don't like it! :dizzy: Hopefully, I can set up an appt. for early next week. Yikes! That's going to be a long time away. :(
It's soooo hot here. I've got to get back to walking on my treadmill. It's way too hot outside--usually 99 degrees heat index.
lesley-anne, how are your doing?
06-11-2008, 02:59 PM
It's hot and I'm tired. I haven't had time to recover from vacation.
Tammy, how is Bob doing? Is his bp back to normal now?
When does he see his doctor again? I hope things are okay.
Dori, your surgery is soon. I wish we could come stay with you.
everyone else, have a great day and stay OP
06-11-2008, 10:39 PM
LOL Tina, I don't feel like I have much energy. I feel like I'm burning the candle at both ends sometimes. Tim and I are hitting some garage sales tomorrow to see if we can find things for his apartment. Did I tell you guys he is living in an apartment this year instead of a dorm? He is excited.
When I have been eating out, most of the time I get a grilled chicken sandwich or a salad with fat-free dressing. With the salad I try to order one that doesn't have lots of fattening things on it (cheese, croutons). I also have diet pepsi. Today after lunch, I did have a scoop of ice cream. Yum.
Sorry about your dishwasher! Our microwave went out a while back, and that drove me crazy!!! Bob should come and do your dishes. He likes to wash them!
Bob's lower legs, ankles, and feet are terribly swollen. He goes tomorrow to the family doctor for bloodwork, but I don't think he will see the doctor. A nurse will draw the blood. I wish he would talk to the doctor about the swelling tomorrow, but he says that since he is going to the liver specialist a week from Friday, he doesn't think it is necessary. I get frustrated.
06-12-2008, 12:19 PM
Dori - Hi.........oh yea, your surgery, isn't it around the 24th? I'll be on vacation from the 19th - 29th so I'll make sure to check right in when I get back to see how you are feeling!!!!! I wish I could be with you too!;)
Tina - Hi!!! I'm soooooo addicted to the WW frozen treats! I buy them all!!!! Being sick, they are an easy fix for my stomach! My kids.........yea, they keep me pretty busy, but because they are 21 & 16 - they are pretty independent and don't "need" me as much! lol! The girls and I go to the beach every year together for just "girl time". We love it. This year we are flying since I've been under the weather. Usually we drive. It is an 12 hour drive and it takes the 3 of us like 15 hours, because we have to stop and pee and refocus our directions again! hahaha! We joke every year, but still do it. Flying will be refreshing!
Hi Tammy - I sure hope Bob is feeling better soon! You take it easy too! Don't get run down!
Well everyone....... have a super day and talk to you later! I don't have a loss to report today because I "forgot" to WI this morning. :o So, I'll check tom. morning and post on the Thurs. WI!
06-13-2008, 11:05 PM
Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. Again, I'm not being notified of posts. I should know that y'all are talking.
Jeanne, did they ever find out exactly what was wrong? Was it diverticulitis?
I know about older "kids" because my son is now 34. Wow, that makes me feel old. Of course, I was a child mother. :dizzy:
Tammy, I am so sorry about Bob's legs/feet/ankles. Men, we can't do much with them, can we!
No, you didn't tell us that Tim was getting an apartment. He doesn't want to be a PA anymore? Was it because he had such a rough time of it?
What does his gf think of the apartment idea?
Dori, let us know how you are doing?
Maureen, have you been roller blading this week?
weemiss, how is school?
beach bum, how are you?
Okay, all the birthday cake has been eaten. We'll have almost a week before Larry's cake. Another cake!!!:o
Everyone have a fabulous weekend.
Susan, where are you?????
06-14-2008, 12:16 PM
Hi Tina! Figured out whats wrong with me.............:?:ha!
Well Diverticulosis is a disease where there are sacks present in your large intestine, if they become irritated (which mine were inflammed bulging on the walls of my intestine and bleeding) they will block your intestine causing severe pain. Obviously! Well, that was my orginial diagnosis. Then like two days after that they called me and set up an appt. with a GI Specialist. I saw him a week or so ago and he said that there may be more than meets the eye. He said that Diverticulosis is sometimes mis-diagnosed because of the size of sack and location. So......................July 15th I am having some surgery to remove the sacks to see if they are cancer or polyps. There is still a chance that it is Diverticulosis. My eating habits have changed tremedously to help ease the pain. It really isn't the way I want to lose weight. At least on a diet, you "can" cheat or work in those extra points for pizza or something fried. This..........you just can't! You are to aftaid of the pain afterwards.
Well, I better get some house work done. I think I'm going to attempt my Yoga and Leslie Sansone DVD today.
Thanks for asking!
Hi everyone!!!! Hope you are having a nice weekend!
06-14-2008, 12:29 PM
Jeanne, I am soooo sorry you are having to go through surgery. Can I come sit in the waiting room? Really, I wish I could, but, PA way too far away.
06-14-2008, 07:53 PM
Tina, I knew you were a mere child when your son was born. Me too! Tim just turned 20.
We received Bob's test results yesterday afternoon. Most of them were the same, but the ones that are of concern (liver enzymes) were higher than in March. We go to the liver specialist on Friday, so we will know more then. I am trying to stay positive, but it isn't easy when the test results show a rise.
Tim isn't going to be an RA partially because it was such a pain AND because his grades took a nosedive. Not good! He had decided he was just going to take a couple classes and then he would have his associates degree. He is so close to finishing his bachelor's. We had a family meeting about it. He will continue for his bachelors, he is reducing his hours both semesters this year, he'll take classes next summer, do his internship/independent study in the fall of 2009, and graduate in December 2009.
The apartment was kind of an incentive to going back to school. He honestly considered just not even going back at all. The cost for the apt. is about the same as the dorm, he'll have more privacy, etc. It is owned by the university. It's mainly families, faculty, and upperclassmen, so he'll fit in since he's a junior.
His gf thinks it's fine because she knew how frustrated he was with the RA/dorm situation. Her dorm is on the north end of campus this year, so they'll be about the same distance apart as last year. There are buses that run to the apt. complex constantly, so he won't have to walk all the time. He is also planning to take his bike.
We went to garage sales on Thursday and bought a few things. He's excited.
Bob bought a cake the other day at the grocery, and most of it is still on the counter. I guess that's a good thing, right??
Jeanne, I wish you weren't facing the surgery. We will keep you in our prayers. I just wrote the date on my calendar that I keep beside the computer.
Sure hope we hear from Susan soon!!!
06-15-2008, 03:17 AM
I have returned from MIA!!! Let me tell you........ it has been crazy.
I got out of school last Wednesday. Thursday, got my haircolored and stopped for my allergy shots. Saw the PA in the hall and we were talking and told her about my nose. She wanted to see it, then she wanted the dr. to see it (not my dr because he was in lock down at the hospital). That dr. said "You need to have a CT scan." I was almost in tears!!!! As I was getting ready to leave, I saw my dr coming in. I said to the PA "he will know about my nose, he has seen it." Told him the story, and he looked and said "nope you are fine and STOP getting punched in the nose." He knows my job! That was 2 hours later.
Went to see Pat's band play on Saturday, got home at 4 am. Then got on a plane at 4 pm to go to my folks.
I hate to say it but my parents are getting old. Daddy is having to use a walker all the time now. His Parkinson's really is getting worse. He doesn't sleep at night. My mom doesn't sleep because of my Daddy. She has scolosis and arthrititis and is stubborn as a MULE. Daddy paces ALL night long. I slept on the couch so I could be in the room with him. I would just close my eyes and he would say "Susie, are you awake?" "Yes, sir! Can I get you something?" I think he just didn't want to be alone. It would go on ALL night long. I think I slept about 2 hours a night. My mom did get some sleep but then slept on the loveseat. I kept saying "Momma go to bed!!! It will make your back feel some better." Oh yeah, Daddy wanted snacks about every 30 minutes and wanted me to eat with him. I just love him to death!!!!! SO his baby, would get up and fix him whatever it was he wanted. I would walk over HOT SHARP COALS for him and he knows it. I would my Mom too but I'm definitely a Daddy's girl.
Oh and I drove everyplace and I chuckled under my breath because I knew where I was going but he had to tell me every move.... even from changing lanes.
I got home yesterday. Thought I would get to rest. Pat went out to mow and I did a few chores. Thought I was getting Bobbie the new kitty today but it has been around another kitten that has intestinal worms and will be on antibiotics for 10 days. I said "we will get him next week." All we need to do is expose our sick cat to that.
So for a restful afternoon, I scrubbed the carpets and cleaned the oven. I laughed when Pat said "Are you going with me tonight." I really thought I would be in bed but I'm still going. Guess that's because my internal clock is off.... Thanks Daddy!! I could call him. I did send him an email.
I had a slight melt down sitting in my house of disaray. All the furniture is on the tiled part so there really isn't a place to sit. I got to thinking about Father's Day. One about how much he means to me. Then about Seamus, after tearing up he brought a big smile to my face. How lucky I was to have held an Angel!!!!
Tina, How was that birthday cake? When is Larry's?
Tammy, I'll say extra prayers about Bob's liver appointment.
Jeanne, When is your surgery?
Dori, Your surgery is coming up soon? Know we are all thinking about you!! Prayers being sent your way.
I'm back on track diet wise. I'm gonna lose something!!!!! I'm back to the gym on Monday and Pat and I are going to walk. We are going hiking over vacation.
Ok, now you know..... I won't be a stranger.
:hugs: Hugs to you all!!!
06-15-2008, 03:11 PM
:hug:Thats for you Susan!!!! Just because!
PS - my surgery is July 15th! Urgh!
06-15-2008, 03:30 PM
Susan, it is about time you got back with us!! Glad you were able to spend time with your folks. It has to be hard on you, but I know how much they appreciate seeing you and having you there.
Not much going on here today. Tim is working, Bob is in the living room watching a race on tv. Yesterday he slept most of the day, so this is good that he is awake. He also drove uptown and visited with some people at the American Legion for a while. That is rare anymore for him to leave the house and go uptown.
06-15-2008, 11:12 PM
It's so frustrating----I'm not getting a message that y'all have posted. I will do better about just looking!!!
Tammy, I am so sorry about Bob's results. You know that y'all are in my prayers.:hug::hug: I wish I was there to give these in person.
Susan, it's about time you checked in. ;) We were all worried about you.
Your parents had to enjoy your visit. It's no fun being the "parent" to our parents, is it! I'm sorry things are not better.
Jeanne, how was your weekend?
Dori, how are you doing?
Maureen, is your home computer working?
We had a good Father's Day. Except, Larry turned his right knee while walking down the steps. Now it's so sore. We just stayed inside all afternoon. He's taking Advil for it now.
Oh, it was 99 today with a heat index of 102.
Susan, I'll bet it was hotter up there.
Everyone stay OP tomorrow.
06-16-2008, 09:44 AM
A very quiet w/e here! I did get some exercise in, which is a first in forever! Today, I took a sneak peak and I am down to 228#!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!:carrot: I hadn't moved the scales this last week at all, but I added that "little" bit of exercise and taa-daa! I won't make my vacation goal, but I'll take what I got!
Tammy - I'll keep Bob and your family in my prayers!
Gotta run, I have a full schedule this week because of leaving for vaca on Friday! Woohoooo!
06-16-2008, 02:36 PM
I'm doing well. I weighed in this morning and lost 3.4 lbs. My surgery is scheduled for next Monday. Tomorrow I go to the urologist to determine if I need just a bladder tack or a sling. Thursday is pre-op and then I plan on trying to relax for the weekend. We'll see what happens though.
Jeanne - Sorry that you are having such a rough time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
06-16-2008, 11:37 PM
I think we all need to get away from everything!!! :):):)
Dori, how long will you be in the hospital? I hope it won't be long before you'll be able to let us know how you feel.
Jeanne, where are you going on vacation? Take us all with you.
Tammy, how is Bob today?
Susan, I'll bet you are sleeping today.
Maureen, I miss you. How's your computer?
I did good OP today. There's hope for a good weigh-in this Thursday. Maybe! :D
06-17-2008, 04:05 PM
Tina, how is Larry's knee?
Thanks for keeping our family in your prayers. Bob mentioned the other night that he was going outside to just look at the moon, because he doesn't think he has many more moons to see. I hope the doctor will be able to give us some answers or some hope when we see him on Friday.
I am still taking the aerobics class 3 mornings a week, and yesterday I started a water aerobics class 40 minutes after the aerobics class. I am probably the youngest one in the water class, and I'm 53! It's pretty mild compared to what I'm used to doing at the Y here in town, so I'll have to step it up a bit. In the aerobics class I'm one of the oldest, and I have to tone it down! lol
Bob has taken a couple of walks today, and he has been eating. I have chicken in the crock pot for supper, so hopefully he'll be in the mood for it when it is done. Sometimes I get something made, and then he doesn't want it.
06-17-2008, 05:49 PM
Well ladies, I went to the urologist today and I will be having a bladder sling done at the same time I have my hysterectomy. I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure everything will be okay. I will have to stay in the hospital overnight and I will try to post as soon as I feel up to it.
06-17-2008, 05:57 PM
My goodness, Dori
I'd think they'd keep you a couple of days. I guess that's insurance for you.
You will be fine! It's good that they can do it at the same time.
We are all pulling for you.
06-18-2008, 09:57 AM
We are going to N. Myrtle Beach. We stay in a condo right on the beach every year. WE LOVE IT! This year we are flying, so.......we're pretty excited. I would love to take you with me..........I think ya' - all deserve it!;)
Dori - I'll be thinking of you next week! And, congrats on that 3.4# lost!!
Tammy - You are tight in my heart and I'll keep you & Bob in my prayers!
Good job on getting to aerobics and water aerobics. Thats funny about you being the youngest!!!!! I've been there! haha!
Tina - You are right.............Everyone here does need to get away!!!!;)
Hi Susan - hope everything is good at your end!
Well, gotta run..................you girls have a great Wednesday!!!
06-18-2008, 12:58 PM
Jeanne, your vacation sounds like such fun!
Tammy, I'm so sorry about the situation. Hopefully the doctor can say something to help Bob feel better about his disease. You know I'm thinking about y'all.
Susan, are you okay?
Dori, hang in there!
Maureen, where are you friend?
For breakfast, I had Heart to Heart cereal with fresh blueberries. It was so good that I didn't realize it was healthy.
06-18-2008, 05:52 PM
I just realized..... either no one is posting or I'm not getting the messages. I'm not :)
Since I've been home I've steamed cleaned ALL of the carpets. What a mess they were!!! I feel so much better since they are clean now!!! Crazy I know!
Been exercising.... Yea!!! and trying to eat right!!!! Hopefully the scale will be nice to me this week LD
Jeanne, thanks for the hug!!! Wow!!! what a weight loss, but not the way to do it. Have fun at the beach!
Dori, I'm glad they are doing both things at once. I bet they keep you a couple of days in the hospital. Just post when you feel like it and know we are all thinking about you and you are in our prayers.
Tina, Yes, it's hard watching your parents and parenting them....especially when you think they aren't old enough. Daddy does have an appointment with someone about an insulin pump and my sister is going to be there (she is the nurse) He does listen to us kids (sometimes) How is Larry's knee?
Tammy, I wish I was close enough to do water aerobics with you. We would have so much fun!!!! I need to see when they have them down here again and think about doing it. Oh but then I would have to find a bathing suit... yuck!!!!
I get the kitty on Saturday. Not sure if I posted why I didn't get him this past Saturday.... but one of his liter mates had worms, so all were getting treated for it. We decided he needed to stay another week until the medicine can work.
Our Bisquit is sounding awful when he breathes. I'm not sure if he is going to be around a lot longer. He really isn't eating much either. It breaks my heart!
06-18-2008, 11:36 PM
There must be something wrong here----I'm not getting messages about posting, either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Susan, you do so much. Girl, you need to rest. I'm so sorry about your Bisquit.
I did good OP until tonight. I had to eat another piece of Larry's birthday cake. Oh, thanks all for asking about Larry's knee.
He is still favoring it but says it feels lots better. It's good that he still has his cane so he can favor the knee some.
Has anyone ever gotten "floaters" in their eyes? Several years ago, I got a few in my right eye. Last night, they started in my left one. I guess I'd better find an eye doctor to check these new ones. Isn't it always something!
06-19-2008, 12:19 AM
Tina, I have the floaters in one of my eyes. The eye doctor said "It was due to trama." I laughed because it all goes back to when I slammed my bike into the tree and hit the side of my face and arm. It doesn't happen often but I get them every now and then. He told me if I saw bright lights with it, I needed to go in right away.
Honestly, I think tomorrow...... I'm doing nothing!!!!! I might sleep late and then lay on the couch all day. LOL Ask me tomorrow what I've done.
06-19-2008, 11:34 AM
Hi you guys! I have know idea what you mean about being notified that we posted?!!??!?!:?:I've never been notified. Where are you notified at, your email? Ha! I learn something new everyday!
Susan - Oh no.............bright lights and space ships!?!?!?! lol! Hope you are enjoying laying around on that couch today!!!! ;) And, I'm sorry too about Bisquit! I just love my pets! Getting the new kitty is exciting and I think you made the right choice not to bring him home with Bisquit feeling like he does.
Tina - Hi! I could go for a piece of birthday cake! Pleasssse?! lol! I have not had anything sweet or filling in weeks. So.......last night we went out and I ordered chocolate chip pancakes! OMG!!!!!!! I thought I died and went to heaven. And.........I didn't get sick. Yay! I kinda thought maybe they wouldn't sit well with me, but they did.
Hi out to Dori and Maureen! Hope you guys are doing ok!
Well, I'm at work, my last day until July 1st!~~ Woohoooooo and yay! When I leave here - I'm headed home to PACK!!!! Wooohoooo again! We leave tomorrow.
You girls have a great week and I'll REALLY REALLY miss you! My prayers and hugs go out to you -
Dori - I'll check in on you as soon as I get back!
Tamy - Bob will be in my prayers too!
Tina - your daddy - I'm loving that! I wish my parents would have lived to "need" me! You stay tough!
Well, enough enough, I'll have tears running down my cheek pretty quick if I don't wrap this up!
Love you guys!
06-20-2008, 08:39 PM
Just got home from the doctor. He is upping some of the meds to help with the swelling. He is concerned about the increase in the numbers, but didn't seem terribly concerned. He prescribed another med to help with the confusion that we are seeing. He also talked to us about some of the concerns that we have being caused by the liver disease. (fatigue, nause, lack of appetite) He did mention transplant, but he said we are not to that stage yet. Bob goes for an ultrasound of the gall bladder and liver next week. He will also have more bloodwork done before he goes back to Dr. W the end of July. His weight was 184, and his BP was 107/64. That's all for now.
06-21-2008, 01:45 PM
Okay, I'm tired of not getting notices of posts!!!!!!!!
Tammy, it is good that the doctor didn't seem overly concerned. Is Bob confused? I hope the meds help quickly. That seems like a very low blood pressure.
I wish I was there to give you a hug. This will have to do for now.
How is everyone else?
I went to the eye doctor yesterday. I hate it when they dilate my eyes. I also have eye allergies right now. They are red, watery and blurry. What fun. (Nothing compaired to Bob, of course.)
06-23-2008, 06:50 AM
Well it's almost that time. I have to be at the hospital at 6:15 this morning. We have about 10 mins before we will leave. I'm a little nervous to be honest. I will post when I feel better and give you an update. All I ask is to please pray for me.
06-23-2008, 12:19 PM
We are all thinking about you today.
06-23-2008, 11:26 PM
Dori, prayers are being said for you!!!! Keep us posted on how you are doing.
06-24-2008, 07:06 PM
Good afternoon ladies. I've been home since 10:45 this morning and I'm taking things easy. I had to have a bladder tack, sling, and the hysterectomy. Justin and the kids will be going out of town this weekend and I will go stay with my family until he comes back. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. They are greatly appreciated.
06-24-2008, 07:33 PM
I'm so glad things went well.
Take it easy----let everyone wait on you. :)
06-24-2008, 10:26 PM
Tina, Bob has been very confused some days. He doesn't realize it, but Tim and I are both seeing it. That blood pressure was good compared to what it was recently. It was down to 70/40! The doctor doesn't want it too high at all because of all of the problems he had in September.
Tim used to get that way with the allergies in his eyes. He doesn't have the problems like he used to have.
Dori, we will continue to keep you in our prayers! Glad to hear that you aren't going to be home by yourself!!
06-25-2008, 02:09 PM
We are a pretty quiet group here. I hope y'all are having a good summer. so far.
Dori, I hope today is a good one. You are probably really sore. Relax and be pampered. ;)
Tammy, I hope the new meds help Bob.
Susan, what's going on? How are your parents doing? How's the new kitty?
Maureen, where are you?
Jeanne, I hope you are feeling better and having a great time being away from work.
Prayer request---my brother-in-law, sister's husband, has been diagonosed with prostate cancer. He goes tomorrow for a battery of tests to see if it has spread. His name is Ralph.

Hope everyone had a great day! Pat took the day off so he could spend it with me. We didn't do anything special except take his car in the shop. Then when we picked it up, we had dinner at our favorite pizza place. It's just not close to home so we don't get to eat there often. (The kitty is great and very active!!!)
Tina, I will put your brother in law on our prayer list.
Dori, glad you are not going to be home alone.
Tammy, could Bob's confusion be due to his low blood pressure? If he doesn't have a high enough blood pressure then he isn't getting enough blood flow or oxygen in his blood.
Well, I didn't make my goal of losing 15 pounds but that's ok. I've worked hard.

Happy Birthday, Susan
06-26-2008, 10:21 PM
I loved the card.
06-26-2008, 11:22 PM
Happy Birthday a little late! Hope it was great!!
The confusion that Bob is having is from the liver disease. The blood pressure is right where the doctor wants it because if it goes up too much, it can cause him problems with the liver and the esophagus from when he was ill in September.
We leave tomorrow afternoon, and we'll be home sometime on Sunday. My niece gets married on Saturday.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I'll bet no one is getting notices of the posts. I'm not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good news, my brother-in-law's cancer has not spread. It's just in that one area. It is a very agreesive kind so, hopefully, they'll start treatment soon.
It's soooo hot here. I need to get in a pool with scuba gear on-- so I could sit on the bottom.
No telling how expensive our electric bill will be this next time.
Anyone have any good, cool summer menus to share?
06-27-2008, 11:49 PM
Tammy, thanks for the birthday wish! Have fun on your trip!
Tina, it's HOT here too!!!! Wonderful news about your brother in law!!! I'm sure they will treat it right away.
My allergies are working OVERTIME today! I feel lousy because of them but I still worked out. My trainer said "I can see you aren't yourself so we are going to do something a little different." I really like her.
Ok, ya'll say a prayer that my brother in law gets this teaching job he has applied for. He has had 2 interviews and it's the district where he subbed all this past spring and is doing summer school as well. My older sister is picking up an extra shift at the hospital because he is making such a career change. I just want them to say "He got the job" It will be a relief for everyone.
Tomorrow is mowing day. Yea!!!! I'm sure that won't help my allergies but hopefully after a good night of sleep it will help and I'll wake up feeling better.
Dori, how are you feeling?
Jeanne, how is vacation? Did you buy us a present?
Oh nooooooo notices here either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
06-27-2008, 11:55 PM
I just sent Suzanne an email about the notification. I'll let you know what I hear.
06-28-2008, 12:00 AM
I hope your brother-in-law gets that job.

Good Morning Sunshines!!!!!
We got in last night - our flights were great! An hour and a half and we were there!!!!!! I'm never driving again! haha! The beach was beautiful as usual. We had some rain the first couple of days, even tornado warnings. Those nights we rented chick flicks and stayed at the condo. We shopped and ate and shopped and ate! I yi yi! I'm not even going near the scale until Thursday. I have promised myself to get right back at it. Although, with all the walking and really I only ate one higher calorie meal a day, I may be ok. But still...........I'm not looking! haha! Oh, can I mention that my husband met us a the baggage claim with a single red rose with a big red bow for each of us. He was soooooooo happy to see us. ****I'm glad he missed us!**** ;)
Dori - Hi! You have been on my mind! So glad things went well!
Susan - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!!: So glad the kitty is wonderful. Did you name him yet? When will we know if your brother in law got the job? I'll say a prayer for him!
Tina - How is your brother in law? I was glad to see that they caught it early! Have they started treatment yet? He will also be in my prayers!
Tammy - Hi! How is Bob? I have continued to pray for you guys! I hope you guys have an enjoyable weekend!
Well girls, I must go unpack and re-claim the house from my husband and dog!
Have a great weekend everyone!
06-28-2008, 08:15 PM
Jeanne, Glad you are back! I love the picture of you. You deserved to have such a wonderful trip and greeting when you got back. It sounds like your husband missed ya'll. :) How are you feeling?
Not sure when Ray will find out about the job. Hopefully it will be soon!
The kitten's name is Bobbie. Pat said it should be with a y and not ie. I just laughed. He named him. all of our animals have names that start with B's.
06-29-2008, 12:03 AM
Jeanne, you were missed! I'm glad you're back. Wow, it sounds like you had a restful, relaxing time of it. :) Boy, you have one great husband. I'm sure he and the dog missed you. Good luck unpacking. That always takes me a week. I just hate taking everything out. :dizzy:
My brother-in-law still has to see the urologist about what treatments to have. I think I'd already be on his doorstep, asking how soon to start. These doctors take their time.
Susan, show us a photo of your kitty, Bobbie. I'm sure he's cute.
Hey, did you hear anything from Suzanne about us not getting notified?
Dori, how are you doing?
Maureen, I miss you. Find a computer that works. :)
Tammy, tell us all about the wedding. Did Bob do okay?
Hey, I stayed OP today and it's Saturday!
06-29-2008, 11:26 PM
Tina, praise the lord about your brother in law! Keeping him in prayer.
Susan, prayers for your bil to get that job!
Jeanne, that is so sweet of your hubby to meet you with the flowers!!
The wedding was beautiful, and yes, I cried. We were on our way on Friday, had to turn around and come back because Bob was feeling pretty bad. I went on by myself then. Had plenty of people to keep me company, and I really did have a nice time although I worried about Bob. I knew Tim was home, so that helped.
06-30-2008, 11:06 AM
Oh Tammy, I'm so sorry Bob felt bad and missed the wedding--and being with you. How is he today???
You are constantly in my thoughts.
Hey, I had a good OP weekend. Maybe that will show up on the Thursday weigh-in. :)
06-30-2008, 09:50 PM
Tina, I honestly think that Bob was nervous because he might get sick, and I think that made him sick. does that make sense?? I talked to Tim a couple times over the weekend, and he said Bob seemed to be fine. I think he needs to see a counselor, but he doesn't think so.
I had both classes this morning. Last Friday at the first class we weighed (still the same) and she also checked our body fat to compare to when we started. Mine stayed exactly the same! I was upset. She knows how hard I have worked in the class, and even she can see a change in me. She thinks that maybe the machine wasn't working right. Well today I talked to some of the others in the class, and out of all of us there this morning, only 1 person went down in body fat. A couple women even went up! There has to be something wrong with the machine.
The dress I wore to the rehearsal dinner was interesting. The waist was supposed to be AT my waist. It was a few inches below, so it looked really ducky. I didn't have anything else to wear, so I wore it. It was sure alot longer than when I first bought it a couple months ago!! lol

Good morning ladies. It's great to be back. I feel pretty good. Tomorrow I have a follow up appt to get the staples out. On Monday, I go back to the urologist to have the other 9 staples removed and then I will be heading down to Mexico Beach to join Justin and the kids. I'm looking forward to it.
07-01-2008, 02:39 PM
Dori, it's great that you're feeling so good. I honestly don't see how they use those staples. I'm just glad I don't have to remove them.
Have a blast in Mexico. Just remember, don't drink the water. :)
How is everyone else doing today?
07-01-2008, 03:46 PM
Hi girls! How is everyone?
Dori - So glad you are feeling well. It's nice that you get to join your family at Mexico Beach! Have fun!:dancer:
Susan - Bobbie is a cute name. Can't wait to see his picture!
Tammy - Hi! I'm sorry Bob was feeling so bad and wasn't able to go to the wedding with you! See what progress you have made............You bought a dress just "months" ago...........and look at you girl..........it's already tooooo big! When you talk about your classes and the machines, um, what classes and what machines? I must have missed something somewhere!!!!:dizzy:
Tina - Hey there! Good job staying OP! I was staying OP and then today I got into the chocolate at work! I had entirely toooo much! I was hoping to see a loss at WI on Thursday! We'll see!
Well, you guys have a great day and drink some water and shake them booty's!:o
07-01-2008, 07:09 PM
Dori, I thought you meant Mexico. I don't know where Mexico Beach is.
07-01-2008, 09:03 PM
Guess what..... I'm sick!!!! You know last Friday I said "I have allergies" Well, it went on to an infection in my chest. I called my dr and she called in some antibiotics for me so hopefully I'll start feeling better.
Here is a link to see pictures of Bobbie.....
I haven't heard anything about the notifications.
07-01-2008, 09:21 PM
Dori, I have to agree with Tina about the staples. lol
Jeanne, I'm taking an aerobics class 3 mornings a week. We use weights, do steps, some kick boxing, and some other things. I also do a water aerobics class 3 mornings a week. The machine I was talking about measures body fat. When I had my body fat tested last Friday, it was exactly the same as it was in April before I started all of the exercising. Since I found out that most of the people's tested the same or even went up, I do feel better that there is something wrong with the machine at the Y. I know I have had to have lost some fat since I haven't lost any weight and things fit so much better (or too big). By the way, I love the new picture, and it really makes me ready to head for Georgia for 3 months this winter (as long as Bob can make it).
Susan, sorry to hear that you are ill!!!!! No fun!!! Teachers should NEVER get sick during the summer!!! I'm off to check the pictures as soon as I finish the note.
Bob's BP is low again since the doctor increased the meds. I'm calling the doctor tomorrow IF I can get through to the right person. It is awful. I do have emails in to a couple of my cousins who are nurses to get their advice. Both deal with heart patients, so they know alot about that stuff.
07-02-2008, 09:57 PM
I went to the doctor today and voiced my concerns about not losing anything since I started all of the exercising and calorie counting in April. He told me to stick with it because sometimes when you start exercising like this and haven't been, you are building muscles and things are changing with your body. I do know that!! AND he told me not to even think about lowering my calories below 1600. he said for my size, age, and the activity that I am getting in, that is plenty low enough and I will start seeing changes on the scales if I stick with it. He is having me get some bloodwork done next week, and he is checking my thyroid. This was my first time at this doctor, and I really liked him. I have been to his office with my husband several times, and he did mention that he could tell that I have been exercising!!
07-02-2008, 11:32 PM
Susan, I'm so sorry you're sick. I guess you were just exhausted from school. Your kitty is darling!
Tammy, i'm glad you like the new doctor. But, it's so hard to wait like he said. How is Bob?
Larry went to a family medicine dr. today. She said it was probably a one-time thing. He had a lot of blood work done. We hope to get the results tomorrow. He goes to a neurologist in the morning.
I'll let y'all know what they all say.
07-03-2008, 01:24 PM
Awwwww Susan!!! Bobby is so cute!!!! How did cha' get the shot of him yawning?!?!? Funny & super cute!
PS - I gained 2#! Urgh! I'm not changing that darn ticker! I'll get it caught back up asap! hahah!
