Looks like I'm first to post for May :carrot:
Got home from work a little eary today so I hoped on the treadmill for 4.5 miles. Angie will walk the dogs to the vet this afternoon, if I get home from a little side job I will add a couple more later!
GOOD LUCK REACHING YOUR GOALS THIS MONTH! :)

I am going to set a goal of running 45miles this month. I reached 48miles in April, but May is going to be difficult. With work and end of the school activities, not to mention house guests, it is going to be a challenge. I am starting to use running as an excuse to be alone! ;) Who'da thunk it??!?!
Will try to get out there later today.

I'm here, just had a long stressful day. The washer exploded this AM and flooded my kitchen! Just glad the day is over now :)
Still got in my run, a short one but it still counts. Did 2.5 miles total. I am planning on 50 miles for this month but secretly I'd like 60. Guess that isn't much of a secret now, is it? LOL!

Hi Gals ~
Welcome freethetoys :)
Have a nice week-end off BASKGAL!:)
Nice 6 SHY :)
Sorry about the washing machine CAT :(...that had to burn off a few cals. though :)
I had the day off so I took the dogs, 2 golden retrievers, to the duck pond and trails. We did a little over 3 miles but I am not sure if it was worth it! All the chasing, running, biting, hissing and growling...man those ducks are mean!
After that I did a warm-up ~ 5K ~ and a cool down on the treadmill.

Hello ladies -- mind if I join in this month?
I'm currently training for a 5K on June 1st, and if I stick to my schedule I'll get in 48 miles of running. I'm hoping to do at least 5-7 miles per week of walking as well, since I really love to walk. So my goal for May is 70 miles total.
I ran 3 miles yesterday, and 1 today, and just got back from a 2 mile walk.

Angie had Saturday school so the mutts and I did the Starbucks "walk" by since they won't let my girls in the joint! Added a lap around bunny poo park and an extra loop since it was such a beautiful morning, sunny and 68 degrees.
Then I added 2 more on the treadmill.

I'll start first with a big WELCOME to all the newbies. I know Rennie, you are not new to exercise, just this thread. Good luck to all of you this month!
Gary, You're off to a great start. Bunny Poo Park is one of your favorites have you come up with a snappy name for the duck pond??? Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
cakeses, you're off to a great start. 2 miles in 21 minutes is awesome!!! The endurance will come, because you're so determined. Another 3FC friend had her washer hose come lose and flood the room last week too. Small world eh?
Great work Baskgal.
As for me. My plan of logging hours rather than miles really paid off and I still ended up doing 70.5 miles in April plus a whole lot of yoga and other stuff that was good for both my body and soul and I lost a pound. I was able to spend a lot more time exercising with my children!
Anyhoo...I'm challenging myself to 31 hours this month. It's been all about dance recital for my youngest daughter so I'm off to a slow start, but the sunshine this morning is giving me a renewed sence that yes, spring is coming!!! Our entire school 4k-12th grade participated in a walk for Junior Diabetes Fri followed by dancing, vb, and flag tag. I spent 3 hours active with the kids so I'm counting 1 1/2 for May. It was a huge success. The kids raised $5200. Not bad for a little school.
Enjoy your Sunday!!

HI GALS ~
Angie and I are going to late service at church today, last of the nieces getting confirmed, so we did a Starbucks and Bunny Poo Park walk with an extra loop for 4 miles. Such a beautiful morning here on the southern California coast :carrot:
CAT ~Faster times ~ more miles ~ a work in progress :)....reminds me of training for that marathon, at first 5 and 9 mile days were killers! but in a short time, with training, they became a piece of cake!
LOVNMOM ~Ha! No I don't have a name for the duck pond...I will work on that! We don't get over there much, although we trained there for a 2006 Turkey Trot 5K. It isn't far, maybe 5 miles. I remember those dance recitals well, my daughter and nieces! Enjoy the time with them while they are young! :)
Hope everyone is having a great week-end :)

Sounds like fun, count me in! I'm a walker only (doctor's orders). I need to set a baseline so I think I'll set a goal of 75 this month. Shouldn't be that hard because we will spend three days in Maine birding - guaranteed walking!
I was on the treadmill an hour Thurs., Fri and last night = 10.5; add a mile birding this morning and3.5 this afternoon.

Rennie, You're too sweet. Don't get caught in the rain...you may melt!
Weather was finally really lovely yesterday and today again. I walked 2.25 miles in 30 min yesterday and played tennis another 30 min with my children. All 5 of us filled one court and just kept it going. We never keep score or even rarely play correctly accept when my oldest and I can sneak away to the park alone! It was a blast. Yeah for nice weather.
Heading out for a walk with M this morning. The loop we're going is just about 5 miles and it'll take us close to an hour and 15 min.

Our junior high / high school phy ed coach has a son who was born with CF. You realize how awful this disease can be when a 5 y/o you know spends 21 days in the hospital fighting for breath. We won't be racing, but we'll be having a terrific time. Wish us luck!

Not a lot to report for exercise yesterday. I spent 20 min kicking the soccer ball around with my children and SIL. Our oldest daughter is being confirmed tomorrow. A lot of time has been going into shopping, cleaning, cooking, yard work etc... in preperation for her party. Throw in other things at school and church and I've had a busy week! Hubby and DS #2 are off at Cub Scout camp this weekend. They'll be back in plenty of time for church tomorrow, but that takes my right hand man. Anyhoo, wish me luck. LOVNMOM Wow! What a way to start with 6+ miles! You will love the 10K...we have done a few 10K's but mostly 5K's...we just love them. There is one almost every week-end of the year around us. My niece was confirmed last week-end, enjoy the party.

free, I don't remember what your goal is for the month, but you are doing awesome!! I just love your "smile myself to sleep" quote. Is that your own? Can we call you gracey?
EZ, a man who cleans the house for his wife gets to add a lot of extra miles to his count as far as I'm concerned. The 10k won't be difficult as I won't be running it. My 11 y/o, a friend of hers and the girl's mother will be my partners. The mother has always been naturally VERY thin (just like her father) so she never exercises. We'll just be walking whatever pace the girls do. 13, that's very young. I hope we can help make a change. Great job this month!!
Baskgal and Coldbright, You two are rockin' it out this month. Great job. I need to get inspired by you!!! Send it my way ladies, please.

We're to get thunder storms this evening so it's mostly sunny, a little muggy with a great breeze. I've had nothing but healthy food and am feeling more like myself again. I did a lot of surfing around in the support section today and really am feeling optomistic and upbeat again. 3FC has got to be the single most helpful thing I do to stay on track.

Well, I feel really good because I finally got back to working on my goal. I did 6 miles today (jogged three nonconsecutively and walked three) within an hour and a half, so I'm pretty happy. I currently have just over 19 miles done so far, and I've done those all in four days because while I've exercised pretty often, I haven't counted my lacrosse practices or games towards my goal. So I'm almost half way to 50 miles and almost halfway through the month! It's pretty much on schedule since I've truncated my goal again. I'm just too busy to accomplish it because I can't go to the gym enough, especially with lacrosse.
Congrats to everyone who is making such good progress on their goal! Especially EZ, that's really neat that you've already almost met your goal!

Went a 4 mile loop with M today to add another hour and then picked my children up from school and played an hour of tennis. I should really get them out there most days. The weather is right for it now in a month it will be so hot.
Gary, My 25th class reunion was suppose to be last summer, but no one got around to organizing it ( I had done our 20th ) so we're celebrating in August with the class behind us. So far we've only lost one member of our class. Lupus when she was only 28. I feel very fortunate. You are doing awesome with all your miles.
Gracey, You're doing really great too and you're really close to goal. Is hitting goal exciting or scary for you?

lovmum- i dont know it feels weird being near my targey its been such a LONG journey, i was in a plateau for the last 6 months which has really ut a downer on dieting, i find if i am not succeeding it is easier to give up when you are close, just think, oh well this is close enough. I now have my holiday for motivation to get it sorted out, and a potential bikini as a reward but i dunno if ill feel confident enough to ware one.
so i guess im just hoping i actually HIT the goal eventually, it still feels like im at the bottom of the mountain even after loosing near 60lbs.

L, Our weather here has been just gorgeous as well. We've been so busy with all the end of the year school events, but me and the children have been taking full advantage of the spring weather. We know it will turn to hot hot summer over night.
Coldbright, Great job on the exercise. Hang tough on the menu. You'll get there.
Gracey, I tend to back slide when I get nearer goal. We'll help push each other across the line this time!!
Rennie, Terrific job as always!!
Gary, Our weather is so nice 3 on the TM would be murder. Way to go. Too bad about your pooches paw. My doggie went 3 on the bike trail with me yesterday. Spring is setting in for her too. I can walk her leashless and after the birdies and bunnies she goes.
As I mentioned 3 miles on the bike trail yesterday for another 45 min. I also played bean bag toss outside with the children while I folded 6 loads of laundry at the picnic table. Then I even convinced my overworked hubby to play two games with us. We were outside together for two hours and needless to say supper was way late, but it was great. I'm counting that two hours as 30 min. I was multitasking AND got the entire family involved. It should count for something!!!

My son's second grade class spent the entire day biking and playing at the park. It was a blast. We biked 12 miles total, played bocci ball and bean bag toss. It's amazing the difference in their endurance levels. Some had to stop every 3/4 of a mile to take a drink and rest and then others, like my DS and his friends, had to have their own adult because they were so far ahead. I suppose some never leave the driveway on their bikes. A beautiful partly sunny, breezy day. Perfect! On my own I ride about 3 miles in 20 min so I'm logging 1 hour for today's adventure.

Wow ran that many miles. I don't think I could run that far unless a bear was running behind me. Way to go.
Today has been pretty good. Got a lot done and took the dog to the vet. Poor thing hasn't been able to walk on her back legs. They think what happened is that she bolted after a rabbit and messed up a nerve in her back. She has developed arthritis ( not uncommon for a dog much younger than she is and she is 14 years old, just a problem labs get ). They put her on a different mead and a pain killer and I have to take her back in a week. I sure hope these meads make the poor old thing feel better. For now, I take her outside several times a day to do her business because she can't walk on the back legs.

Rennie and Gracey, Great jobs as usual. Woo hoo!!
Um Gary, you think bike riding with 2nd graders is playing....yesterday our little village held their annual "Old Fashion Day." The entire down town is blocked off. Vendors fill the streets, city wide garage sales, kid's games, bed races (drunks push beds on rollers down the main street, stop change the sheets and down a 12oz beer, push some more, stop again change the "baby's" diaper (usually the most drunk teammate) and down another 12 oz beer and then continue onto the finsh line). It's all good clean "white trash" fun. I as the Cub Master in town run a "box" car derby race. The car is a box we decorate. The children hold them and run 3 laps. Lap 1. their pit crew washes their windshield ( a spray in the face and a paper towel dry off ) Lap 2. they refuel ( drink 8 oz of water ) The 3rd Lap they change tires ( exchange their shoes for firemen boots ) The kids have a blast. I always offer High School kids a dollar to run it for our entertainment etc...my in-laws donate cool medals for 12 winners etc...My son's in the Troop and they ran a car bash (remove all the glass from an old car and let people pay you to beat on it with a sledgehammer ) Yes, young men are more than willing to pay so they can show off for the ladies. Anyway, I had a blast. Walked in the parade and back and forth running events etc.. from
9am - 6pm. So, even though it doesn't sound like much of a "workout" I'm counting an hour ;)
Today, I'm off to Madison for the Cystic Fibrosis 10k. We've got a lot of youth in our group so I have no idea how many miles we'll actually walk. You are allowed to drop out at 2,4 or 6. I'll report later how many we get done!!!

Baskgal, Your doing great. I bet you'll have another over goal month. WTG!!! Here we've had so much rain, snow, rain everything is very green and too wet. We can usually see sprouts in the fields by now, but hardly anything has even been planted yet. Keep going you're doing awesome.
Gracey, You're really doing awesome. That tickers moving down and you are headed for that bikini. Pats on the back for you!!
Gary, So glad Reba's feeling better. Are you taking the rest of the month off sinse you're over goal?!?! ;)
Stella, Furious on the 4. You should be so proud!!
Rennie, Keep on a moving girl. You are kicking butt!!!
Cakeses, I'm with you. My schedule has just not left room for the amount of exercise I like to get in. We may be down, but we are not out girlfriend. We have a few days left in May and then June is a whole new ballgame as they say. Let's keep moving!!
Had a real blast with the Hubs. I picked him up at work Mon. and whisked him to Majestic Pines casino in Black River Falls,WI. We gambled, ate too much, drank a little, soaked in the hot tub, watched some movies, relaxed. It was awesome. Not near long enough. We were gone 24.5 hours total, but it did really help. I'm off to Circus World Museum with my son's class today. I know it's lame, but we'll be walking and playing all day again so I'm counting 1 hour. I can't waite until June so I can have my life back. These are good times, but I feel kinda ugh. Too much fast food not enough heart pounding exercise. My weight's up 3#, but I have a few days to get that to drop back down before it's "official." It's times like these that I have to remember I'm still 7# less than I was in November and just keep moving forward. Thanks for always being here for motivation!

6 miles total commute-walking over the last two days, and 2 miles on the treadmill yesterday morning.
My training schedule (for a 5K on June 1st) says 3 miles today, and I really want to do that, but I feel totally wiped out. I'm quitting my job and starting school soon and getting ready to start training my replacement who starts next week and DAMN is there a lot to do between now and then. I'm very happy to be starting school but feeling SO frazzled. Maybe a good run would actually revitalize me...
