Hey Everyone,
its been a while since I posed. The emotional drama in my life was insane the past 5 days. Hopefully the majority of it ended today.
Nothing much to report on the food front!!..Not awful, but I have been over doing it with legal foods. The SF ice cream and 72% choc seem to be my weakness. And I also can't go a day with out an apple dipped in peanut butter. Just a lot of fat happening in my diet.
Not much by way of offical gym either. I went Monday and I taught 2 classes today. I hope to make it the rest of the week. Thiss whole getting back in the swing of things is tough. In other news I am no longer coughing so it should be fine once I do start to go everyday.
Have a good night everyone!!!
I am so far behind with posts that I just hope everyone is doing well.

I went and met my friends baby today. She is just beautiful! Fussy, but when she is awake, she really is taking everything in. Her mom is still in pretty bad shape...very sore, lots of tearing, and exhausted. I fed her steak and spinach salad to get her blood levels up (she lost four pints!) I go back tomorrow since I will be in the neighborhood and they need things from the market I will be shopping at.....
Eating was not bad today, until tonight when I ate a hot dog on ww bread, and ate a handful of tater tots...I should have just avoided them, and the hot dog and not eaten anything.
Off to make bedtime tea... sweet dreams everyone!

Ellen...too cool on the new baby. Praying the mama heals quickly so she can enjoy her little one.

Good morning all...
Happy May! Wow, I cannot believe it's May already!!
I see that Thursdays are for sharing new recipes. I added a few to the recipe list, so please check them out if you would like!
I definitely need to drink more water!! I only like my water if it is ICE cold! So , I have to remember to stick the bottles of water in the freezer before I leave for work.
hehe. :-)
Hope everyone has a good day! Surprisingly, I find that I don't really crave sugar now that it has been out of my system!
We took a family walk after dinner yesterday and even stopped to get the kids some ice cream cones (Baskin Robbins was having their $.31 cents a scoop day!) and it didn't bother or tempt me one bit! Wow! Willpower is an amazing thing!
We can do this!

Morning ladies,
Today I go to the dr for my PFT (pulmonary function test) results. I have recovered from the asthma attack fine I think, but had the test yesterday. I just hope I don't need an everyday inhalor. I try really hard to avoid meds. They cost me a fortune, and I hate taking them. That was always part of the reason I started really caring about my body and being over weight at a young age. My whole family has huge issues with High everything and diabetes runs in my family. prevention is the best med.
Ellen-Congrats on the new grand baby. That is amazing Spoil her rotten. Im sorry her mom isn't doing so well. Last summer when my godson was born I was at the delivery and his mom couldn't leave the host for 4 days thanks to tearing and awful hemroids from pushing so much. She couldn't do anything for a week. Having people who care like you will be a huge help. And lets be real, watching the baby is the best part..:) Enjoy.
Peggy-Thanks for the inquiry. I was around but just super busy. I will go back and read the last thread to see what is going on. But for now Have an awesome day and I am glad you doing so well!!!
Crystal-Thanks I am doing just fine now. I just tried to save a friend from making another horrible decision and it didn't work. it was just a trying few days. What's new with you, how the weight loss going? Like I said Im very behind. How is the tooth healing..or space rather?
Ashley-WOW you rock with the ice cream will power. Both Friendly's and 2 local ice cream stands serve the "no sugar added" and boy did I check those out last week when it was hot. You go girl!! And have you tried to make the bottled water ice cubes. I saw they have ice cube trays that make ice for bottled water. Personally I prefer room temp--but ice cold burns more calories, so I really should make my water ice cold as well. Good for you! I am so impressed at the recipes and your motivation. :) Keep it up
Solly, Toni, thin, Chris and everyone else.. What is going on with everyone? I feel lost..maybe this afternoon I can catch up.
For now im off to shower and get ready for the Dr's. Have a great day

Today is a coffee day:coffee: Boogie got a so-so report last week. He has to wear a monitor for a month. We'll know something about where we stand after that. If the report comes back not good, then he may need a pacemaker. I've been REALLY slacking with exercise. I need a good kick in the butt. And my weight is around the same 161. It goes up a couple when I'm doing bad, and down a couple when I do good for a bit. But of course my problem is that I don't continue to do good. I'd love to lose some more, I always feel better when I do. We'll see.

Morning Ladies! Can you believe May is here?? I can't! Time is going way too fast to suit me! I have been cleaning out the upstairs of our "Barn" , which is actually a barn shaped two story building. So full of other peoples things we can't use it for our own stuff! I have the top straightened and now we can start on the bottom level. My Hubby is going to love having his own barn for his own use! :D
ELLEN~~~Congratulations on the new "Grand" Baby! :bb:And believe me they are GRAND I hope her mother heals quickly and will remember her in my prayers.
HEARTMOM~~saying prayers for your Boogie too. My Dad just had a pacemaker put in and he feels so much better! Says he wishes he had it several years ago in fact!
GYM~~~So glad to see you back! I hope all goes well with the PFT. It is hard to see family/friends making horrible mistakes...some folks never "get it" that when they "hurt or are unhappy" those of us who love/care for them hurt too. I'll say a prayer for your friend to recieve God's guidance on what ever the problem is.
RICE~~~more recipes! Yippeee! I'll be checking them out for sure! I have one that I think would be legal and the best thing is NO COOKING!!!!! I'll post it as soon as I have time. I guess it would be called a relish. I can't wait to see what yummys you have posted.
COUNTRYMOM~~~Nice to see you back, thought I was going to have to send a posse out on a few you! Hope things are going well with the garden. My tiny little one is only half tilled and nothing planted yet!
Hope your all having a great May Day! ~Peggy

Gym... Hang in there~! You can get back in the swing of things...I think I will pass on the SF ice cream, because it does sound dangerously addicting! hehe I might end up only eating that! The ice cubes are a great idea, but I end up buying the water bottles by the case already filled so there is no room to add the ice cubes! So, I just freeze the entire bottle instead! But, thanks so much for the suggestion! I, too , love apples with peanut butter! Have you tried the soynut butter? (made from roasted soybeans) It tastes very close to PB! Also, you are so lucky you work in a gym! Sometimes I do not have the motivation to GET there..but if my job was there, I know I'd have to be there..haha
Ellen....Congrats on your friend's new baby! It seems everyone around me is pregnant now ! I think we are pretty sure we are done now with four, but whew ..that baby fever is something else! hehe
CountryMom Hope you are having a good day!
Heartmom Hope things go well for your Boogie. I am assuming he is a transplant patient? I happen to work in a PICU, and we get many heart kids. I will keep him in my prayers for sure.
Peggy Can't wait to try out your recipe so please post it! and no cooking sounds good to me!! Have a fabulous day!

Evening all,
My first day off in 3 weeks. Slept till 1:30, watch TV, relaxed with the dogs, went out for baked shrimp in mushroom caps and a couple of drinks. Basically did nothing!!!!
Loved it. And really like that I no longer work weekends so I can get back to having a life.
Hope all is well with eveyone.
Cheers

Good Morning,TGIF
So despite only 3 days of legal foods and it being TOM, although I haven't lost any more the scale reads 172.5 so that's only .5 above my 20 pound and only 1 lb gain from the past 2 weeks of being sick and or not going to the gym. I went to the grocery store to get stuff to make lunch and a few items for this soup I have been making. It is a direct correlation to how well I do based on how much I plan. makes sence.
!55-Congrats on getting the weight tracker to work!! Glad you enjoyed your day off. I didn't do much yesterday either..Read almost an entire book. It was geat.
Ashley-Good move on the Passing on the ice cream. Sometimes i almost wish I hadn't found it. Although I could not buy it..I like it..I wish I didn't have a sweet tooth. Mine hasn't gone away.
Peggy-I can't believe it is MAy. It has been freezing this week so I didn't even feel like spring, more like fall. You inspired me to clean out my shed. HAha I have been putting off clearing it out--I decided I should see what I need to pack and what I can pitch. Thanks. Hope the cleaning went well!
Heartbom-I have been slacking also. I have just tried to set smaller goals until I can work back up to the crazy gym schedual I used to have. Good luck to Boogie with the monitor. I hope everything turns out well. Ha everyday is a coffee day for me, so don't feel bad!!
Oh I went to get the results of my PF Test. They were awesome. So the attack so far was an isolated incident. I was projected to scre a 116 and I scored a 154 overall lung function. The Dr. was impressed. I think she actually felt a little bad for not believing me, but stood behind the idea it was slightly possible that things could have changed. I still have to watch my breathing under certain conditions and see how I fair. I think Im fine. have an awesome day everyone!!

:) Morning!
Yea for Fridays! The cleaning in the top of the barn is almost done! And I have moved a good bit of the things from the bottom up already!:D I am having fun finding all the things I knew I had but could not find, and even more fun finding things I had forgotten I had! Emily has a new yard croquet game I ran across and the best find of all was my nephew's Baby books! I had packed them in a suitcase to protect them and in all the moving they got to the back of a stack of stuff! They are in perfect shape and I had a ball going down memory lane last night. Supper was really good last night, Cheddar Cheese/Mushroom Chicken WW Wraps! All legal too!
GYM~~~So glad your PFT was so good!
ELLEN~~Hope the new grand baby :bb:is doing well and the new Mommy too!
155~~So glad you got your tracker to work! I have tried at least ten times to get mine working and it even showed up one time one here, but I had to start from the beginning and copy and paste it here.:?: Everything works great but I can't figure how to save it to my signature:( In fact, I don't even see a signature thingy on here! Moi and computers do not mesh well!
Since Friday is for funnies I'll share this with you....it was more shocking than funny but it is life....Emily is my GD and she is almost 4. Tiny little thing, reddish blonde hair and big blue eyes..looks like a little angel everyone says. She had been here playing for the day and she came in from outdoors. Her mother and I were sitting at the table and as she climbed on the seat with me I said to Emily..."I know something you haven't done today, you haven't given your old MawMaw a hug!" She snapped her fingers and said "Awwww SH*T" as she gave me a bear hug! :fr::fr: Closest I have come to fainting :faint:in years Ladies! Needless to say there was some more discussion over the use of this word! :tape: We decided she would say Awww Pickles instead! :D And since I knew the source of her hearing this word was sitting at the table with me I had some more discussion with her as well! :frypan::coach::rollpin::club:
LOL, Hope you all have a nice Friday! ~~Peggy

:wave:Hey Ladies!
The top of the barn is done!:cp: I am so pleased with actually getting it finished this week; now if I can just not clutter it up when I clean out the bottom!
I weighed today :goodscale...and the weight is down another 1.4 pounds! I honestly thought I had gained but as they say the scales don't lie! :nose:
I am going to try and post that recipe I mentioned to you Rice. I haven't ever done that so we will see how it goes. Oh, there was something new on my quick links and I think I have a weight tracker now! We will see when I post this so keep your fingers crossed :crossed: !
I hope all of you anywhere near the bad weather are safe! Till later...

RICE- He's not a transplant patient. He was born with HLHS-Hypoplastice Left Heart Syndrome. Basically, without a left ventricle. It's 100% fatal w/out the surgeries. He's had 3 open-heart surgeries at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He's really doing good though. Looks completely normal. A typical little boy. I don't have the internet at home anymore, or I would post some updated pics. I know I'm a little biased, but he really is handsome!

Today is mine and hubby's weigh in day and I am down 2 pounds this week. I was suprised because I had eaten a little more this week but I guess I needed it.
Even though we are not suppose to eat corn I have some on the grill and I can harly wait to give it a try. I rubbed them with some chiptole olive oil that I made and frijita seasoning....yum yum. At least I hope so..LOL
Gym...awesome on the good health report. Zachary is suffering from his asthma. He hasn't had a major problem since he was a baby. He is on round two of steroids this month. As much as I wish he didn't have to take them they make a HUGE difference in his ability to breath. It seems like everyone is having more trouble this year with allergies and the problems that come from them.
Peggy...((hugzz)) Thank you so much for you kind note. It is so encouraging coming to the board and reading how everyone is doing. My grandbaby will come out with some doosies also.
RiceKrispy...The SF ice cream is so good and it is easy to eat too much. My hubby has portion control issues with it... :) The other night I opened the buttered pecan. Just thinking about it makes me want some.
155 awesome on life returning to normal. I hope you get a chance to enjoy your new time off.
Heart...praying this next doctors report is good news.
Ellen...Bob...Toni..Solly...Chris...Tech...((Every body)) Wishing all of ya'll a SUPER weekend.

GOOD EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
Sorry I've not been around that much, but we suddenly got really busy at work and I'm dragging when I get home. I thought that after the SNOWBIRDS went home we would get a little relief! NOT!!!
I rushed home today to watch THE OAKS and discovered that if JACKIE went today, she was a drowned rat unless she was in the Clubhouse, or possible in MILLIONAIRES ROW!!!!
Tomorrow is THE DERBY, and I'll be tuned in all day. It doesn't run until 6:01
Here are my movie picks for the weekend:
THERE WILL BE BLOOD
LIONS FOR LAMBS
DAN IN REAL LIFE
I COULD NEVER BE YOUR WOMAN
I'm off to bed to recline. I have to work Monday so I've got a lot to do in the next two days.
EVERYONE have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Welcome Dreams!
I am new here ,too...!
Peggy, too cute about your gd!! kids do say the funniest things!! hehe . Also congrats on your weight loss! you go maw maw!
Gym...looks like we have the same TOM...lol.. poor us...but, Yay for your new PFT !
Heartmom Yes, I am quite familiar with HLHS, as I used to work NICU before moving to PICU. Your son is one of the lucky ones indeed, as I have seen many that do not even make it through the initial surgeries. CHOP is a wonderful hospital ! Your son is definitely in very good hands there. I will continue to keep him in my prayers. xoxo. Also, congrats on your amazing success with SB. I noticed on your ticker how much weight you have lost! You look amazing and I am sure must feel it as well! You are great inspiration to me, so thank you! If you have any tips/or recipes..please share!
Countrymom.. Congrats on your weight loss!!!! I sooo love grilled corn on the cob...sigh...but I am scared that if I give in once , I won't be able to stop at once..so,at this point, that's the only thing stopping me from eating the forbidden stuff.
BOB....enjoy your movies! I really enjoyed "Dan in Real Life!"
155...Hope your weekend is going well!!!
Today has been a good day...I weighed in today and lost 3 lbs this week! Its also that TOM, and with it, I know I am retaining fluid.., so hopefully the scale will reflect that next week with even more wt. loss...at least I can hope!
Just wanted to pass on another find during a grocery shopping trip. In the pasta /sauce aisle, I found Colavita brand sauce, both fat free garden and fat free mushroom, the label states that they contain ZERO gm sugar!!! How is that possible? I thought tomatoes were counted as natural sugar too...Fill me in! I didn't buy it yet, as I still prefer to make my own..but good to know just in case.
It's been overcast and chilly all day today..with every minute looking like it will downpour..so we took a brisk walk to Blockbuster and rented a bunch of movies, the kids and hubby ordered "real" pizza, while mommy was good and had her homemade ww pita pizza. (that btw, my youngest prefers, I think because she has fun making her own pizza!!)
So, now that all the kiddos have watched their movies, and are all tucked into bed, it's now our turn to cuddle up and watch a grown up movie; "27 Dresses." I heard it was really good so I am looking forward to it! It's been a looong week!
Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend!

I am on my 6th day of quitting smoking. Just having to fight the urges to eat any and everything in sight------:tape:
I hope to get moving this week and look for any suggestions and support. I think I will begin with early morning walking the puppies.... Anyone suggest any good videos for cardio and for begining excercisers?
I have missed seeing everyone and I have missed the support..........it is pretty sad when life gets so complicated on can't find time to send a post to their support system! Thanks ALL for being here for me!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hello everyone! Tom is off camping with the men from church this weekend, and I have been LAZY. I had a throwing student yesterday, and then worked some myself. I have not gone anywhere, done anything productive really, since he left Friday afternoon! I LOVE it! :)
Another good thing about Tom going off for the weekend is that I only eat if I am starving enough to FEEL hungry and notice it. When he is home, he wants a meat and two sides for dinner, and I could just skip dinner, but don't when I have to make it.
Mom and baby are doing better each day. I hope to get down there to see them again this week. (they live about 20-30 minutes away closer in to downtown, and it traffic is horrible...and gas is outrageous! )
DREAMS: :welcome3: We are glad to have you! This is a very healthy way to lose...and you won't feel deprived once you get past the sugar cravings. Jump right in, ask any questions you have- the only dumb ones are ones you DON'T ask! :) - this is a great group with a number of big losers.

Oh my gosh my eating has been just been horrible. I went to bed feeling so icky last night because I'd had my worst eating day ever. I just can't go on eating bad. So today I'm back to eating right. I've missed you all. And the support of this board.

Hiya..Just a quick check in. eating was rough fri night--I did good yesterday aside from fixing my problems of a bad day with cookies...today was fine except I had one sugar cookie at a party. they just looked so yummy. But that was it and I did 3 hours at the gym yesterday and had 2 bday parties today. so overall getting myself back on track. Im not really too hungry today so always a plus. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
I started Remember Me By Sophie Kineslla on Fri afternoon and I almost fiinshed it. its laugh out loud giggly. I recoment it highly. Bob can do movie revies and I'll do book ones. I can't sit tstill to watch movies but I do great readin!!

Oh my gosh, I feel so out of the loop! I've just caught up on everyones' posts and feel like I need to get back into the swing of things.
I had my colonoscopy on Thursday and besides the prep , it was a piece of cake. I had 1 polyp removed. The doctor said it looked fine, so I'm sure the pathology results will be negative. Anyone who is tentative to have this procedure shouldn't be afraid one bit. It doesn't hurt at all. The worst part is the cleansing process 2 days prior. I don't have to go back again for 5 years.:dancer:
I just had 2 days in a row eating sugar.:nono: I don't know what it is with me, but for some reason when I don't eat legal foods, I do it for 2 days in a row. I ate a whole Pepperidge Farm coconut layer cake in 48 hours!! That's my sugar addiction rearing its ugly head. I have no problem stopping after the second day and going back OP, but it's just weird that I always do it. It didn't affect my weight, still at 169, but it bothers me that I don't have control over it.
I'm still looking for a job. I've sent out more applications than I can count, but haven't heard back yet except for one, and they didn't offer benefits. It will happen when it's meant to be.
I hope everyone has a good week!
Blessings-Chris
Toni-I feel your pain. Hang in there- you WILL get back OP.
Ellen-Enjoy your time alone. There's nothing better than lazy days. I will be saying a little prayer for the new mommy. That's very painful. Enjoy your time with the baby.
Dtrmnd-Congrats on quitting smoking. You can do it. Just think of how much healthier you're going to be. It's better to eat something than cave into the cigarettes. I'm not a big exerciser, but I have done Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds. It's aimed for people who are just starting an exercise program.
Rice-Congratulations on your 3 pound loss!!:carrot: How was "27 Dresses?"
Bob-Hope you enjoyed the Derby. I read that the horse that finished second had to be put down right after the race. That was so sad to see. Have a good day back to work on Monday.
Dreams-:welcome3: Sugar Busters is the best for those of us who have sugar issues. Most of the time I have it under control now. But there is always the occasional slip up. Just remember to get right back OP and you will be wearing shorts on your honeymoon.:)
Country-Congrats on the 2 pound loss.:carrot: I find that even if I eat corn or bananas within moderation I don't gain weight. It's all about portion control. I guess for those who are diabetic, it's a different story though.
Heartmom-I will be saying lots of prayers for Boogie. I'm sure all will turn out well. It sounds as if he is seeing very good doctors who know their stuff. And I'm sure you're not biased, why wouldn't he be handsome, his mom is very pretty!
Peggy-:congrat: on the weight loss! I'm happy to hear you've cleaned out part of the barn. I love finding things I forgot I had. It's like Christmas when that happens.
Gym-Sounds like you've had a trying couple of weeks. I hope you have a better week coming up. I find I'm much better when I have everything I need in the house too. I'm glad your test results were better than expected! You'll be back to the busy you in no time.:)
155-You deserve a good long break! Three weeks straight is tough. Weekends make all the difference, don't they? Hawaii in December....oh what a lucky lady!:sunny:

Evening Ladies,
Great weekend. Got lots of things done that had been hanging over my head. I do a lot of volunteer work besides my 2 jobs, so I was getting a little behind on stuff at home. Since I live alone with my 3 dogs it's easy to just let things go until you wake up one morning and go "Holy @#*&!! this place is a mess.
Got the house tidied up, some graphic design work done for two different foundations I volunteer for, (senior's centre & our hospital foundation) plus did 4 hours at the Farmer's Market selling t-shirts & raffle tickets for the SPCA. Sorted a lot of paper that seems to build up from nowhere, shredded a bunch and tidied up the office. Made chili and spaghetti sauce, cooked up whole wheat noodles and made some quick & easy reheat containers for the freezer. Got all my shopping done for the week.
Feels good to go back to work with the home front a little more in order.
Countrymom
Congrats on the 2 lb. It still surprises me when I get on the scale and I've lost. This just doesn't seem like a diet, but the pounds just keep coming off.
Agree with you about the SF ice cream, sometimes it tastes toooooo good!
Gym
That's my plan for my next long weekend. To curl up in the sun and read. I'll check your book out. It's so easy to get so busy that you forget how nice it is to just get carried away by a book.
Peggy
So cute your gd. You forget what little sponges they can be. :-)
Heartmom,
If your son looks anything like you he must be a cutie. He's lucky to have such a strong mother to look out for him.
Welcome Dreams,
Great support here. Very friendy bunch. Once you get over the first hump, it's a great way to get healthy and lose weight. Tip, tell people sugar makes you ill, then they won't try to tempt you with it.
RiceKrispi,
Awesome on the 3 lbs. With TOM too. That's great. From your picture you don't look like you have a lot to lose. How was 27 dresses?
BOB,
What did you think of Loins for Lambs, I thought it was okay, but didn't live up to all the hype it got. Your thoughts?
Michele,
Way to go quitting smoking! 20 years for me. One of the best things I did for myself. 13 years to the day I quit I got certified for scuba diving - my lungs would never have let me do that if I'd continued smoking 2 packs a day.
Ellen,
You can't beat a day of doing nothing. Recharges the batteries. Hope you had a great weekend.
Toni,
Best thing about SB, you can just start free the next day. The week will be great!
Chris,
I have my colonscopy at the end (no pun intended) of the month. Glad yours went good. Glad to hear it's not as nightmarish as people lead you to believe. Hawaii in December is my birthday present to myself. I turn 50 so where better. Hawaii 5-0! Book 'em Dano!
To everyone else have a awesome week. And if you think of any really good jokes please pass them along. Somehow I got talked into doing a stand up comedy routine to raise money for the SPCA. I've NEVER done stand up before. It's on May 14th so I went online and downloaded a "how to" book. If any of you know anything about this, all help is greated needed. Good grief the things I'll do to help animals.
Night all, off to study up on comedy.
Have a great week.

Morning! I am stuck at home because my daughter had to work, and their car is probably dead.
I am going to head down to the garagio in a few to work. I need to get the kiln going today, but some of the stuff I want to fire is not quiet dry so I will have to fire pretty slowly to avoid explosions!
Not much else is going on here, but I wanted to check in!

Happy Monday Ladies,
I am exhausted :tired: My weekend was non-stop and too busy. We had fun at the Oaks, but as BOB said it rained most of the day. We stayed dry until the walk to the car. I had a garbage bag so that helped. We just went to a party on Derby. I only cashed 1 ticket all 3 days. I did win a little bit at the party. Didn't get to relax yesterday. In the morning we went and got some flowers to plant and DH did all that, I had to drive to Lexington for a birthday party so we didn't get home until 7:30. I was worn out and did nothing but sit in the hot tub and then watch TV.
My house is a pit sty and we have no food. So tonight we will walk the dog and then I will hit the grocery and try to clean up my house some.
Bob, we didn't get wet, we stayed inside alot and back in our office at the track. I did go up on millionaires row. we had a pass that got us in most places. We didn't see anyone but the govenor of Indiana and a couple ball players. Derby Day would have been better time to go there.
Ellen, sorry you are stuck at home today. Hope you get a lot accomplished.
155, Congrats on your 3lb loss. You are doing great. Send me some of that success.
Chris, glad your colonoscopy turned out ok. That's over for 5 years. I know you can get back on track.
Gym, that's a great idea of you doing book reviews and Bob the movies. I love to read, just never have the time until vacation.
Toni, I am right there with you girl. I need a good boot in the rear and Bob to send the wagon. Come one, we can do this. I have missed you.
Determined, congrats on you quitting smoking. Hang in there, dieting and quitting smoking both are tough. Glad to have you back.
RiceKrispie, for your loss. You are doing great. Rub some of that determination on me will ya?
Dreams, :welcome: to our group. This is a great group for support. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Jump in here and ask questions all you want. We are here to help.
Country, Girl you are leaving me in your dust. I need your determination and help. Congrats on your 3 lbs. You are in the 160's and that is awesome.
Of course eating has been horrible. I am so disgusted with myself. I need to get back on track and do this once and for all. My boss purchased 4 tickets for me to go to the Susan B Komen Pink Tie Ball in September and I have to get back into the dress I wore at my DD's wedding by then and we are going to St Martin in January and would like not to look like a fat blob. So I need to get back on the ball. I am tracking my food hoping that will help.
Got to run, have a great day

Good evening. We had the plumber here and he fixed our stopped up pipes that DH couldn't fix. Oh what a relief to have use of the sink in the kitchen. My gosh it makes such an awful mess when you have plumbing problems. I'm going to make pork tenderloin fajitas for dinner tonight. I hope they're good. It really warm outside. I can't wait to get my garden plants this week. Hopefully we'll get them planted next week end. Sorry I'm not doing replies today. Have a good evening.

Happy Monday, everyone!
Thanks for all of the encouragment on the quitting smoking. It is sorta tough!
We had an emotional weekend, with our abused friend who had been with us for almost 7 weeks deciding to go back to her abuser. :?: DH was even stressed out and went to KFC and we ate horribly last night! Back on track somewhat today. We are just trying to regroup and let go of our fears and concerns for our friend!
It has certainly been a beautiful spring day here in Middle Tennessee.
It is great to see all of the weight loss and healthy eating!
Have a great night, everybody.

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday!
The weekend was good...got a lot of cleaning done too. For those that asked, the movie, "27 dresses" was very cute, I do recommend it if you are in the mood for a romantic comedy!:-)
155...I love your idea of cooking up stuff ahead of time to reheat later. That would really help out here with 4 kids, and a hubby! I just need to find the time to plan all that out! The only thing I really make ahead now is my spaghetti sauce. (i posted the recipe on this site). I usually end up making a few quarts at one time to have on hand in the freezer. Thanks for the compliment, but I think those loose pjs must just hide my fat well! I want to lose about 40-50 lbs, all leftover accumulated weight from my 4 pregnancies.
And, congrats on your 3 lb loss! yay!!! :-)
Chris313.... glad your colonoscopy went well! omg, and Pepperidge farm..I think they just wanna kill me with their Milano cookies..I cannot even go near that aisle in the grocery store!..hehe
Solly We watched the Derby on tv and were so devastated over what happened to Eight Belles. :-(
I will try my best to send you some of my determination! For me it's all about not wanting to have to "start over" again with getting the sugar out of my system, ...that was a really tough "detox" for me. I don't think I would have the same control if I went off and on plan...so it's actually easier for me to just stick with it for now. (if that makes sense..)
Hope you all have a fabulous day!!!

Good morning ladies,
I am still :tired: but managed to get up at 5:30 and get in a 30 minutes walk. The dog really helps me get going. Eating yesterday was good. We did gt in a 2 mile walk last night. Then after dinner we went to the grocery and got lots of fruits and veggies. Then I had to clean house, clean my car and make lunches. I sat down at 10:45 to unwind. I have decided I have to teach my self portion control (big time) and even if I have a slip up or want the occasional baked potato, b/c that is life, I have to eat in moderation and get right back on track. I just have to keep talking to myself. I should have a constant reminder with my pants being so tight -ha-ha.
Determined, I pray for your friend. That is so hard to leave some one like that. I hate that she does not have the fight in her to go it alone. I feel sorry for you who has given her shelter and guidance and now you have to watch her go back to that situation. You know she will be back soon. You are such a good friend.
Krispie, You are smart to keep on track. Once you cheat, it becomes easier and easier. When I first started this WOE, I was determined to lose the weight. I didn't want all my friends to say "she is on another diet and that won't last long". I didn't even tell people that I was "dieting". I made it almost 9 months to my DD's wedding w/o cheating. I lost 105 pounds. But once I did, it was hard to get back on the straight and narrow. Now, thanks to chemo and my own stupidity, I have 30 pounds to take back off. I am going to do it though.
Toni, you fajitas sound good. I need to make something mexican this week but DD doesn't care for fajitas so i might just make here something else.
Crystal, you are motivating me. Keep it up.
Got lots to do. Have a great day

Morning all,
RiceKrispie, I'm with you on the idea that it's easier to just stay the course then go through detox again. Can't say I have missed potatoes but that might be because it's getting nice here and summertime eating for me is more vegies and less starch. Might be different when the cool weather of fall sets in and I'm looking for comfort food.
Solly, there's a website called http://www.dietandfitnesstoday.com/ that has th GI of most foods and they show all kinds of different potatoes. Some are definitely lower then others and might not spike the sugars so much.
Determined, I'll say a prayer for you and your friend. Abuse is such a hard cycle to break. They get you to the point where you don't think you deserve any better and no one will love you but them. Must be very hard for you to watch your friend go back to that life.
Happy Tuesday to everyone else.
Oh, a word of caution, I got home late last night and decided to treat myself with a bowl of SF ice cream...well, too much maltitol (sweetener) sitting in your stomach overnight can give you a horrible stomach ache and make you best friends with your bathroom (for hours). Just thought I send out a head's up.
Have a great Tuesay all

We had a wonderful weekend. We took the kids out to Outback and we all splurged. Every calorie was worth it, even the dessert. :) The tuna was AWSOME! The kids had never been before and they got a kick out of going somewhere besides a buffet.
Solly...you totally rock and the weight will come back off. You have WAY more self control than I do. You have always help keep me on track.
Toni...yum! I would use the whole wheat flour. I use it in place of white flour in all of my gravies and roux. I made my oldest some shrimp Parmesan this weekend and he said he liked it better than Alfredo sauce. He even ate whole wheat noodles with it. Do you peel the eggplant? I know some people don't like the peels. I actually eat them. I've never tried eggplant this way. I'm going to for sure.
Michele...I'm so sorry to hear that your friend went back into the abuse. My daughter's best friend is in that situation. It is so hard to see someone being hurt and allowing. This young lady is self sufficient so I really don't understand why she stays.
Ellen...I hope you are having a GREAT day even though you are stuck at home.
Chris...((hugzz)) Glad you are finding time to visit. It's good to hear from you again.
Man, I wanted to say so much more but I've run out of time. ((Everybody))

Hey, guys..thanks for all the compliments! I was just checking in. We got Boogie's heart monitor last Friday, so he'll wear it for 30 days and we'll go from there. I'll keep you all posted. For the ones that have known about him since he was a baby..he's now 4'1" and just about 50 pounds at 8 years old. So pretty skinny but getting tall. Ashley will probably be taller than me. She's already 5'4 at 12 years. That eggplant recipe looks good. Reminded me of an eggplant mozzerella bake recipe I found here that was really good and a good lasagna substitue. I wish I had time to post more, but work is calling..

Good evening. Eating has been good today. I'm going to make a stir fried brown rice and leftover grilled pork tenderloin for dinner. I've got my rice cooked and cooling now. Can't wait to get some more fresh veggies and stuff in the house. Think I'll thaw out a turkey breast for the week end. That way I can make lots of stuff next week with it.
Crystal- I've never made eggplant on my own so don't know whether to peel it or not. But what I've eaten hasn't been peeled so I'll probably not when I try this. Do you salt yours first?
heartmom- Can't believe how your kids are growing. You're going to have some tall ones....
Solly- Well I'm going to fight my way back to good eating. How in the world did I get off track. You know all of sudden I had tons of sweets in the house. My choice of course. Anyway next time I shop I'm not doing that again.
155- Boy I have to really watch the sweetners in ice cream and candy, it works exactley like you said.
Rice- Keep up the good work!
Well time to run. Good evening to all....

Hello SB Friends...Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. It has been a busy week for sure. I popped on read the posts, I just did not have time to post myself. We had trees cut from our property that could be dangerous, as far as falling into our home, during one of our frequent storms/tornados. Loving trees as I do, I have already picked out the replacements! Last night we got news our 9 yr old twin Grandchildren/girl/boy who live in CA have ADHD. We are trying to education ourselves and it is overwhelming...any input from any of you with experience on this subject would be greatly appreciated. I know it off the SB subject but it is all we have on our minds today. I'll be back later to post and I have that recipe I mentioned to you Rice! ~Peggy

Raw Veggie Relish
2 Cups of each:
chopped fresh tomatoes, bell peppers and onions
1 cup fat free mayo
1 (roll) of Ritz crackers ~any WW cracker can be used (Can be omitted)
1 cup crumbled fried/broiled bacon (even turkey bacon is good)
Layer diced bell peppers on bottom of clear glass bowl (you will want to see the layers simply b/c it has eye appeal ), then add layer of diced onions, then a layer of diced tomatoes Add the FF mayo by spreading it over the tomatoes. Crush (in a plastic bag) the roll of crackers and shake it over mayo then add crumbled bacon. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerator for a couple of hours, serve cold (this keeps it crispy) on a bed of lettuce or as a side. If you think it needs more zip just add Mrs. Dash or similar seasoning to your taste.
I think this is legal but we will ask those more SB wise!

Happy Wednesday!
Just wanted to stop by quickly to say hi to everyone. All these recipes popping up sound so good. I have to make a day to try some out. I like to try new things so I don't get into a rut eating the same old things all the time.
Our puppy, Crash is getting big. He likes to chew on shoes so we are very mindful on where we take them off. We are very lucky in that he doesn't like to chew on the furniture. Writing that was probably the kiss of death, but I'll risk it. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures on here I'll put some of his up.
Well, that's all I have for today. I did weigh in this morning and am 2 pounds down:cheer2: so I feel good about that. Enjoy this beautiful day!
Eating has been decent. Drama at my house now has gone crazy. I can't wait until July (or possibly June) when I am on my own. This situation is getting so tence. Its the living together thats killing us.
Been pretty busy..Glad to see everyone is still tagging along. Such a strong crowd of motivation. You go girls. Congrats to the loosers!!! :)
I'll write more later. I am back to the gym hard core again..Thank goodness!!

Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers for my friend. She is now once again cut off from her support system and family. She needs all of the prayers she can get as she is in poor health physically and mentally. She will be 62 in September, so i pray she gets another chance to get out of there!
It is a beautiful spring day here is Middle Tennessee! I am enjoying it!
I have been stuck at the same weight for weeks now! HELP!!!

Happy Wednesday all,
Starting to get a little nervous and excited about doing my stand up. 1 week today!!!! Hope you will all send me good thoughts on the 14th so I don't bomb too bad. Had a horrible day yesterday for wanting chocolate, thank heavens for Lindt 80%. Ate a loooooooot of it yesterday.
Determined,
Just a thought, are you eating enough? If you've been dieting for awhile and restricting your food intake, your body might have gone into starvation mode. If you eat more for a couple of days, your body might snap out of it. SB legal food of course, just more of it.
What's everyone else's thoughts on this?
Gym,
Hope things calm down in your household soon. Your home should be your safe haven.
Peggy,
Relish looks good will try it on the weekend.
Toni,
Going to try your's too, looks great.
Chris, Heartmom, Country, Solly, Ellen, & everyone else have a great wed.
Cheers

Howdy ya'll. I just finished a light and lean hot dog on a whole wheat bun. The hot dog was really good. I think the actual hot dog only had 70 calories. I was so tempted to taste the kids because they had the full fat kind fried in butter but I didn't. :)
I put in one row of okra today. That took me about 30 minutes so I wussed out and decided to plant another row on a different day. The green beans have set and seem to be growing pretty good. I should have a mess in a couple of days...maybe three. There was one Cayenne on the bush and it was HOT. Yum Yum. There are some baby squash. I'm praying they will grow because last year I got zero squash out of 60 plants. The radishes are ready for picking but for some reason they are really really hot this year.
Michelle...I agree with 155 sometimes adding our changing things will get the scales moving again. Changing up your exercise routine can help a lot also.
155...praying you have a total blast doing the stand-up and you knock their socks off.
Toni...I don't salt my eggplant first but I have heard of it. We went to the dollar store the other day but they were out of eggplant. Mom is suppose to take me tomorrow. I hope they have some more in. You can't beat their prices, they sale them two for a dollar. Hope your storm didn't get too bad.
Gym..((hugzz)) praying things calm down for you until you can get moved.
Peggy...hang in there. There are several children in our family that have been diagnosed with ADHD. Some have been treated with medicine and some have been treated non-medically.
Hey Bob where are you? ((hugzz))
Heartmom...don't work too hard. It is always great to hear from you. My oldest daughter didn't even make 5'4" :) She is tiny like I always wanted to be.
Chris...can't wait to see that picture of your puppy.
Solly....I got in a great walk this morning. I think I'm finally starting to build back a little stamina after being lazy for so long. Are you able to get out and enjoy any of this spring weather?
Ellen...((hugzz))
((Everybody)) Time to get off of here for a while. I've spent a good part of today looking things up online. I'm trying to decide if I want to mill my own flour so I've been researching that. And I've also been trying to find the best site to order bison from. It's a little high but I did find a couple of places that weren't as bad as the others.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Evening Ladies...It is late here & I should be in bed but I am just not sleepy. I have been having some pretty bothersome pain from my diabetic neuropathy. I am still walking at least every other day, (only missed two days in last 2 wks) going a little further each time. When Emily is here she goes with me and I truly enjoy that, most other days Kenneth goes with me. Eating has been pretty good but I am still trying to get a hang on the SB way of eating. Last night we had boiled fresh shrimp but we cheated and used store bought cocktail sauce...So if anyone can help me out here PLEASE do!
Tonight we had cod fillets that I finger pressed some instant roux mix on and then lemon pepper. I heated an iron skillet and used 2 Tbs of Extra Virgin Olive oil and pan "fried" 2-3 mins on each side and they were done. Served them with a store bought Health Slaw that our local hospital nutritionist recommends and it was a tasty meal.
Toni~~I am trying your Eggplant dish tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes!

LOL I must be tired I just posted before I was finished writing! Sorry!
155~~I wish you nothing but the very best in your stand up act!
CountryMom~~We like white turkey meat hotdogs on our ww buns! I cut a recipe out of the paper today for GRILLED Okra! I am going to play with it a bit to make it SB legal but the gist of it is to use two skewers and young pods and cherry/grape tomatoes, brush it with a mixture of sauces, one being teriyaki and cook till tender. Sounds good to me, how about you? I planted cukes today with my GD and HUbby in our postage stamp size garden. I did a few cukes in a pot for Emily too.
Well it is almost midnight I best get to bed! We have bad weather coming in tomorrow and it will be a long day. Night all!

Hello everyone!
I wasn't able to get on the board yesterday ...things have been hectic here...but in a good way! We adopted a new older puppy (1 yr old) , her former family had to relocate overseas and could no longer keep her so we happily adopted her! The kids are thrilled of course and so far she is adapting well to our family. :)
My issue lately has been finding the time and motivation to exercise! I need to work on that! I have to be able to schedule a time between work, the kids, and the house stuff, so that I can get to the gym alone and do my workout! I find that I keep getting interrupted by a little person whenever I attempt to work out at home! hehe. Believe it or not, eating the SB legal stuff has been easier for me than finding the time to exercise!
Peggy...I think you were the one that asked about a SB legal cocktail sauce..so here you go. My friend is diabetic and makes this recipe for all her holiday parties. I love shrimp cocktail and once I tried this recipe, I was hooked! The raspberry really is amazing with shrimp! I hope you give it a try!
Raspberry Shrimp Cocktail Sauce
1 cup no-sugar added raspberry preserves
1/4 cup prepared horseradish
3 tablespoons Splenda, Granulated type
2 tablespoons tomato paste
3 teaspoons sherry wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pinch black pepper
_____________________
2 pounds cooked, peeled and deveined shrimp
DIRECTIONS
Place cocktail sauce ingredients in a food processor or a blender. Process or blend for 30 seconds or until smooth.
Chill cocktail sauce at least 2 hours before serving. Serve with the shrimp. Cocktail sauce will keep, refrigerated, for five days.

Morning SB Ladies!
Rice~~Your the best! LOL Talk about "Ask and Ye shall receive"...that was FAST! Do you know if this can be frozen to have on hand? Congrats on your new puppy! It being an older puppy is probably in your favor! Last puppy I rescued (he was in our garage under a car for two days in an Alabama August) When we finally got out hands on him he looked so poor we took him to the vet to see if he needed rehydrated (he did) and the vet removed 27 ticks from the insides of his ears! Poor thing. But the funniest thing is to "repay" us for our kindness he chewed abut $200 worth of shoes up, the cord off a Roomba, the cord of an Ionic Breeze and one day was alone here and chewed/pulled a 3 foot strip 4 inches wide in the berber carpet, smack dab in the middle of the LR floor! We call him our $3,000 stray! But he was such a sweet dog I gave him to my GD and he is now an outside dog and very happy! Oh, his name is John Doe b/c when the vet's staff asked his name to get him in the computer, I was put on the spot and had to think of one fast. Since we had not been properly introduced John Doe was all I could think of! LOL vet laughs ever time we go in and he remembers this. Thanks again for the recipe!
I hope every one has a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies,
I finally have time to catch up. I am off today. Just have a few errands to run. I did 4 days at the gym so far this week, and although Sunday wasn't a gym day I have double birthdays, so I was busy.
I started training to be a lead teacher, and that is going interesting. its tougher then it looks.
Peggy-I have been meaning to tell you this, I love you weight tracker..its really cute. I actually know a lot about ADHD, as my degree is in Early Childhood. First take a breath..it's not as bad as it sounds. To be honest..its a label and it doesn't change anything about the children that wasn't already going on 5 min before the "discovery" Al lot of things can be handled with behavior modification, and constant constantly. I can not stress that enough. Adhd children don't always think differently, they usually act differently. Its not the end of the world, just relax, they will sense stress over this and this causes them to act out even more. I'll leave it at this here and send you a private msg.
Michele-Oh boy a plateau. I had been at one for almost 6 weeks. it was so frustrating. i even reread the book to see if I was missing something. The first time it happened I added more food. Not snacks. Like more chicken, eggs, stuff like that. I guess it was mainly protein that helped. The second time I cut back what I was eating to 3 meals and 2 snacks. A snack being
fruit and cracker, or fruit and atkins bar. Try keeping a food journal for 5 days and see what times your eating and what it consists of. Then tweak it just a tad. I also paid attention to how soon before bed I ate. I am a late dinner early to bed person. That made it tough, but i turend my lunch into dnner food and my dinner into the smaller meal. It's a though. Somehow the past 3 weeks I have done ok..no loss but no gain and I have cheated more times that I can count. Go figure. Good luck. And thanks for the hope..its hard with my sister 20 yrs older than me.
Ashley-Congrats on the puppy and geesh..Good luck. Use the dog as your excise to exerciseEven walking the dog can be great exercise. If it wasn't built into my day I have no idea when i'd exercise.
Crystal-Cool sounding garden. I just did a whole plant garden with the kids. We started indoors with seeds. Someday Id like to attempt veggies. That would be yummy. Good luck to the squash. Do you start with plants or seeds?
Chris-Look on the bringt side crash will keep you from just leaving shows lieing all around. HAHA Good luck with the puppy. How old is he?
Solly-Glad to hear everything is going well. I wish I could walk outside like you do..I just can't get myself out there. And the portion control thing made me laugh because thats so me..I love to just eat. I have been working on it for awhile. Something things are easier than other. let me know how it works out.
Ellen-Glad you enjoyed your lazy weekend. Those are so much fun..When ever I get a chance I do it too. Good for you. How are things since he got back?
155- Yes I love to get carried away with a book. I think that's why i read so much..it's an escape for a few hours at least. haha I sometimes will wake up myself and look around I think geesh when in the heck did THIS happen.. LOL glad you got everything all cleaned up. Congrats on the 3 pound loss!!!
BOB_hope things have calmed down a little bit. How was the derby?
Dreams-Welcome. You will really like it here! How has not eating sugar working for you? Any questions or thought? I love to hear new people's feedback!!
Woah I think I got everyone. This took me 45 min to write and catch up. HA, thats what i get for being so behind!!! I hope I didn't miss anyone. if I did I am sorry. Have a great day everyone!!!

I wish everyone healthy eating and a restful weekend!

What a beautiful morning this morning. It was in the 50's but it is already warming into the mid 60's. Yesterday went really well. All of us girls showed up a mom's. Eating was way off....errrr *smile* My weight is way up over the whole of last week so you would think that would make me eat right yesterday but it didn't. I couldn't pass on the jalapeņo bread. Most of the other wrong eating was just too high in fat foods but SB legal.
Gym....most of my garden is from seeds. The tomato and peppers are the only things I have in that weren't done from seeds. The other plants started from seed put straight in the ground. Some years I start the squash seeds in potting soil first but not this year.
I can't wait to hear how all of ya'll are doing this week. The washer is almost done so I'd better get ready to hang the clothes.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Checking in..How is everyone? I'll be slow today. At the express bank. Most people don't realize there is a banker in there. Alright, I gotta buckle down. All this damage eating I've been doing on the weekends is adding up. I'm up 5 pounds. I would like to take it off plus 5 more for my mini goal. I have vacation coming up next month, so I definetly need a few off cause I know I will put on a couple then, even if I halfway try to do okay. It's a yearly ritual at vacation to have Baskin Robbins(we don't have one here) and Olive Garden(ours is about to open!). And I always have a couple beers, too. So I can't afford to put any weight on with where I am at now. Time to detox!! Robby and I plan on going to the gym this evening for some cardio. I'll do a strength training workout tomorrow at home since it's my late night at work. I'll check back in a bit..

Hello everyone!
Hope all the mommies had a great Mother's Day!
I was served a cute breakfast in bed by the kids...complete with their fingerprints smooshed in my food..haha ,gotta love it. :-)
We enjoyed a quiet relaxing day at home, (it was raining all day!), and then met up with the extended family for a big dinner at a restaurant. Let me tell you, it was really tough when everyone was ordering the delicious desserts from the dessert cart, but I stuck to my willpower and said NO! I did get a lot of compliments from those that hadn't seen me in a few weeks, so that is helping to motivate me.
I have the day off today, but have a ton of errands to catch up on..so off I go! I hope you all are doing well!

Hello everyone. What a great week end I had. On Friday I got a wonderful bouquet of flowers from my beautiful step daughter in Calif. Then my son that is in the Army came to spend the night. He was on his way to Kentucky for some Army classes from Texas. So we had a wonderful day and evening with him. He left Sunday morning after I made him his favorite biscuits and gravy. Then Steve took me for a ride. We ended up having mexican food and going to Lowes where he bought me a nice bench to set out on the deck. So today I'm having a good rest and back to eating right. Hope everyone had a great week end too.

Hello everyone! I have been MIA again....
My daughter's car is definitely dead. They are using mine, and it is crazy trying to get everyone to work, home, shop for groceries, go to the post office to ship out pottery, go to meetings, etc. with ony two cars for five drivers! Argh!
The pool water has warmed up enough for me to get in it, but unfortunately, last night the temps really dipped and it was too cold to get in today. I went grocery shopping and had coffee with a friend today, so I really did not have time.
Eating has been fairly good. I have been feeling kind of blah, but so has everyone else, so I guess it is something going around.
Off to finish up some chores around here!
PEGGY: For cocktail sauce, take a legal ketchup and add prepared horseradish to taste. That is all the commercial ones are...ketchup and horseradish.

Good afternoon. Just popping in for a quick hello. Eating today has been fine. I'll be having lunch soon. Made some sugar strawberry jam over the week end and its so good. And so easy to make. Since I'm the only one that eats it here it was the perfect batch with 5 little containers. Tonight is pork loin chops and green beans. Might also make some zucchini baked with whole wheat panko crumbs. We're expecting lots of rain. Well have a happy afternoon.....

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA. I have been using every spare minute to work on securing things for my silent auction in a month. So phone calls and letters have taken all my time.
Eating is so so. Still not 100% back on track. DH found ot his blook pressure is high so we need to get back to the gym on a regular basis. They are talking about building a gym here at work. But I will believe it when I see it. It would be nice though.
Hope all you moms had a great day. We did, but it rained the entire day and 45 mile winds.
Toni, so you sen tyour son my way huh? I assume he was going to Fort Knox? So glad you got to see him on Mother's day.
Country, I am so jealous of your garden. I wish I had one.
Ellen, your DD needs to find a car fast. That would drive (no-pun intended) me crazy.
155:  another 3 lbs is awesome.
Ashley, what a nice breakfast you had. I love the fingerprint in the food.
Laurie, where are you going on vacation? You can do this Weekends are hard.
Gym, your new job sounds like fun, you will be good.
Determined,
Peggy, you are doing good on this WOE. Your fish sounded good.
Hope I didn't miss anyone, but I have to run. Be back as soon as I can.

Hey everybody! This was my long evening and eating today was terrible! I think it may be PMS, but whatever it is I am craving salt and sweets......like chocholate candy bars of all things!
I am off to bed... hopefully tomorrow will be better on the eating front.
I am still smoke free........that MAY be affecting my appetite, too.
Have a great Wednesday, all!

Morning Friends! Well, I have not tried a single recipe I had planned to try and that frustrates me:stress: to no end. I guess traveling is not conducive to the SB WOE. The trip was such a short one it barely seems like we were there. Gatlinburg was nice, the wildflowers are beginning to pop up everywhere! I never knew columbine came in so many colors! The hosta we transplanted from Alabama took hold well and it was really pretty. We hung a big orange T shaped birdhouse (for the Univ of TN) several months ago...and we were elated to see a blue bird had nested in it! Emily was facsinated by it.
Michele ~~ Are you just going with :dust: to stop smoking? I know I really need to quit and I dread the thought! It is going to be really hard to do since my husband :smoking:smokes and so does my son and his GF. It sounds like you are doing great! :bravo::cp::cp::cp:
SOLLY~~I have to admit that fish was pretty tasty! I am having a problem with portion control though. I am giving serious thought to a couple of things...using an ice cream scoop to measure my food and buying some cute solid colored smaller plates to use. Anything to help me lose the weight I need to lose. Breakfast seems to be the hardest meal for me so I am going to cook up some of the breakfast foods I have found on here and freeze them...just to see if that helps.
Toni~~LOL, call me dumb but what are ww "panko" crumbs?
Ellen~~I hope your daughter's car woes ease up soon, I know it makes it hard on you. :stars: I will try the cocktail sauce you suggested, it sounds easy to make for sure. I also have a recipe Rice posted and I want to try it too. I have the "blahs" today....are you contagious? LOL
155~~ I am wishing you luck/or break a leg...whatever you say that brings good results when someone is doing standup comedy. :cheer3::cheer2::encore::encore::encore::goodluck: If I remember right it is tonight! I tried to send you a joke on here but I think I goofed. I am only a month on using "boards" and I don't know my way around it yet. I admire your courage...I could never do this! And another 3 lbs lost! You go Girl!
RICE~~ What a blessed :val2:Mother's Day you had! I have this thing about fingerprints...I used to clean clean clean to keep my glass door free of any prints at all, but somehow they mean more to me now that I have a cute little redheaded GD putting them there! No One has said anything about how nasty my windows are yet...oddly before now I always thought clean glass was SO important! :mag:
HEARTMOM~~ My weight is up too  but I am not going to beat myself up over it. Mother's Day I :ink:pigged out on pizza (3 big slices):hungry::jeno: and I refuse to feel guilt over it...so there! LOL, just means I have to work harder on getting it off AGAIN!
COUNTRY MOM~~ I think you know by now how envious we all are over your garden! :carrot::broc::carrot: Mine is tiny and in poor soil to boot but we are working on amending the soil. Emily has Pumpkins that crowned from the mound and she is excited over that. When you talk of your garden it brings back memories of when I was 16 and helped my inlaws for many years with their huge garden. I loved it and I miss it so much now, just as I miss Vera and Robert, who have both passed away.
GYM~~ :high:Thanks for the compliment on the weight tracker, I thought it turned out really pretty too. I have calmed down a bit over the ADHA Dx but still reading everything I can get my hands on about it. Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Where is BOB?
Ok I have to get going, cleaning out my garage today for the new freezer (an upright) that will arrive tomorrow. I think it will help alot with all the new things I'll be cooking up! Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Good evening everyone. I didn't get on the scale today. I just am not ready to face it. Isn't that pitiful. I hope you all are doing better than me. We're supposed to have a really nice sunny week end so I'm hopeing to get my herbs planted and some of my tomatoes out. I'm really enjoying the sugar free jam I made last Sat. I'm going to try while we're out tomorrow and grab somemore of the ball freezer jam packets so I can be sure and make peach jam when peaches are ready.
Peggy- Its so hard to eat right when you're on the road. Hop back on to good eating now. Sounds like your trip was fun.
Michele- Hope your eating was better today and the cravings are gone.
Solly- sounds like you're busy, busy.... Yes Scotty went to Ft. Knox. It was a wonderful Mother's Day.....
Well good evening all.

Good morning ladies....I have been MIA again. Just have had one busy weekend after another. I still have 2 busy weekends left, my cousin's wedding on Sunday and then a birthday party the following Saturday. I'm so happy for my cousin that she finally found the right man. She just turned 40 and I know she was thinking it may never happen for her. Those of us who have been married for a long time might think lucky girl;)!! Just joking.
Still no luck in the job hunt-very frustrating, but it will happen when it's right.
I have finally reached the 50 pound loss mark as of yesterday. I feel so much better than I did hauling around all that extra weight. I'm also not dreading getting a dress for the wedding as I normally would be before the weight loss. I still HATE shopping, but at least things fit when I try them on.
I have to run to the bank and post office, so I better get my butt in gear. If I don't get back to the boards tomorrow, have a wonderful weekend.
Sorry I have been missing again. I have been pretty down and just dragging. I have not thrown in over a week, and just don't feel like it either. There has been a lot going on in every aspect of our lives, and I think I am just tired...my brain is tired too. A vacation would be lovely. Ain't gonna happen anytime soon though.
Eating has been very good. I have not weighed, but I imagine I have lost a little.
I will try and get back on more regularly as soon as possible. In the meantime...hang in there!

hi everyone..sorry i haven't been around much...just been really busy around here...my daughter graduated from kindergarten...it was a very cute graduation..and she felt like such a big kid! we had a little party for her too which was nice. I was a bit disappointed today, because i weighed myself and only lost HALF A POUND this week!!! And, I have NOT gone off plan at all! Not one bit of cheating!!! uggh, and to think I passed up so many goodies this past week..especially at the party...so, I feel a bit discouraged now. But, congrats to those that have lost weight this week. I hope to have better news to report next week's weigh in.
Peggy, you should try my recipe for the spinach pie for breakfast..its yummy and easy...and one of my fave quick breakfasts!:-) I'm jealous of the pizza you ate! lol

Hey, everyone. I wanted to let you all know that I have resigned as a moderator here on 3FC. I have found over the past few months that I am really struggling to find the time to do my mod job, and therefore, letting it slide. I felt this was unfair to the board and other moderators, so I have resigned. I will still be as active as I can on the board, but I am assuming Suzanne will assign this forum to another moderator.
I have enjoyed my time here, and been immeasurably touched by the friends I have met here. I wish you all the best!

Today I picked another mess of green beans and got a big surprise on the zuchinni row...there were two huge zukes there. I didn't even realize they had set yet...LOL The squash are miniatures but I'm gonna cook em for dinner any how. Jess put in the last two rows of veggies today. He loves his mama. :)
Welcome Ladybug! ((hugzz)) This way of eating is awsome and the members here are a wealth of information. Praise God on being a cancer survivor.
It is so so hot today. I need to walk since I haven't in forever and a day. So I guess after dinner that is where I'll be...walk walk walking. How is everyone this week?

Hello everyone!
I am new to the site. I actually think I joined the 3FC Forum years ago, but as my diet went by the wayside, I quit posting.
I just received my SugarBuster book in the mail. I'm not sure I understand how it works.
I noticed in the back of the book a food pyramid, but the drawing was so small I couldn't read it (showing my age I guess! haha).....I have a list of the good foods/avoid foods, but not sure how much of each I can have.
For example...are you allowed WW breads more than once a day?
So I guess that's my question, is there a daily allotment for each food group?
I hope this question hasn't been asked a million times, and I would appreciate any info you can give!
Muchas gracias from S. Tejas!:spin:

hey Everyone,
Wow Ellen--I am so sorry to hear you are giving up your mod position. I know it's what you need to do right now, and I really miss seeing you post. I wil still continue to look for your stop in posts.
Again I am pressed for time. I actually was able to take 3 hours on sunday and just RELAX in the sun with a book before i had to work. I was so susprised. Eating has been so much better and I have been at the gym a decent amount so I am happy. Weight loss is down another pound of so. I actually saw 169.5 on Sun am but I think I was dehydrated. LOL since then It is back to 171.0 or 170.5 HAHA I am hoping for Fri to make it to 169 flat. I was super hungry yesterday afternoon though so I stopped at the store and bought a bag of SF Choc peanuts. (I was out and had already had by bar and apple along with my lunch before I left) I was plenty full with a tummy ache after that. HA
I have been trying to keep up at least reading here and there with how everyone is doing. Welsome ladybug and puppet.
Puppet_ as far as limiting things..You should but I found at the begining I lost weight anyway just cutting out the sugar. Getting adjusted to the new way of Eating is tough so as long at your eating "Legal" foods portions arn't such a big deal right now. That said bread is consitered a starchy carb and should be limited 2-3 max a day. If you have any other question feel free to post them and someone will be able to answer you!!!
Everyone else Sorry I don't have time to indiviual posts...Have an awesome day!!!

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the welcome!
Today is my official first day on SugarBusters.
Gymrat: Thanks for the encouragement! It is kind overwhelming at first, but i keep trying to tell myself that this is probably going to be my life! I'm almost fifty, and I want to get this weight off! Funny, just wanting it to happen hasn't worked much so far! haha..guess I'll have to actually apply myself!:dizzy:
Ellen: Thanks for answering my questions about Agave. I received my order yesterday...and coffee this morning was delicioso! I hope you still post from time to time!
Has anyone baked w/ Agave? I like making my own bread (although i do use a bread machine)...anyone have any suggestions?
Also, I'm curious, :?: have most of you lost all of your weight while on SugarBusters?
I hope everyone has a great day!
adios for now, dee

Good evening everyone. I'm late today for some reason. Just got myself a cup of green tea and sat down for a break. I've got taco soup bubbling on the stove for dinner. Steve doesn't get home till about 8 for dinner so I'm early not late. Eating hasn't been to good but I keep trying.
Dee-:welcome3: I feel the very best when eating this way. Its such a good way for your family too. After you get the hang of it, its really easy to eat this way. Glad you're here. Ask lots of questions.
155- Hope everything went well at the doctors. And he thinks you did very good losing 20 lbs.
Ellen- Glad to see you. Hows it going in your world.
Gym- good for you. You're doing so good and a real inspiration.
Crystle- Wow your garden is doing well. I just got my tomatoes out. I love hearing your summer stuff.
Chris- A great big howdy.

Good morning. I'm sitting here having some quiet time before I have to go outside and pick beans. Today is one of those days where I just feel lazy but know there are things to be done. :)
Dee...I did lose all of my weight on sugar busters. Originally it was 80 pounds and I kept it off for about 4 or so years. I had an accident and felt sorry for myself so I went to eating comfort foods and junk. That put on close to 40 pounds. But since being back on SB I've lost all but the last 15. I've used agave to back with several times. Just the other day I made some brownies. They were a tad dry but it wasn't the agave it was my recipe. :) I see you are from S. Texas. I'm in E. Texas. You'll get the hang of this way of eating before you know it. Once you get the basics down you won't even have to think about it, it will become second thought.
Toni...WTG with keeping on trying. That is all any of us can do. If we fall down we just have to get back up. The last couple of weeks I've really been struggling with my fats.
Gym...good to see you ladybug. Awesome on getting in the 160's. Keep up the good work. I bet come Friday you will see that number again.
Solly...I got in one day of walking this week. Hopefully tonight will make number 2. I was not ready for this heat yet. How is your week going?
Bob...Are you alright? I sure miss hearing from you.
155..woo hoo on the 20 pounds. I hope the Doctor acknowledges your efforts and that you get good reports if you have test.
RiceKrispy...how are you doing this week? It looks like everyone is pretty busy.
Heartmom..Hope you ain't working too hard. :)
I've put off getting off my duff as long as I can. ((Everybody)) If I don't mention your name please know EACH of you is important. I love hearing from everyone at the board. I hope and pray ya'll are having a great week and if you are struggling hang in there.
God bless,

Hey guys. I wanted to let you know that Boogie has been wearing a Holter Monitor the last couple weeks or so. Well we phoned in a couple of episodes the day before yesterday and yesterday his nurse called and wants us in to see Dr.Games tomorrow. Dr.Games is not his cardiologist. He is the cardiologist that does the pacemakers. So not a good sign. Robby and I are both taking off work to go tomorrow. I'll let you all know the outcome. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I'm very nervous since he's been "fine" for the last several years and now this.

Crystle: A big Tejas howdy to ya! 80 lbs!!! I can't even imagine losing 5! haha. I can tell it's gonna take some time for me. I was shocked how many times during the day..because of stress or whatever...I headed for sugar or caffeine today! Oh well, one day at a time!
I've got family in East Texas...Sour Lake, Beaumont, Livingston areas....sure is pretty that way. I'm in the land of mesquite trees, cactus and salt water!

Well, I have been sticking to the diet, been trying out some new recipes, cause I have been getting kinda bored with the same ole routine...., I will weigh tomorrow, and I sure hope its more than the disappointing 1/2 pound loss last week..but I keep trying to tell myself that at least I didn't gain right?
Been really busy around here, lots of family have been passing through, birthdays, a wedding, a graduation coming up... what else is new..hehe. Anyone watch American Idol last night? We were really happy to see David Cook win it!
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hi real quick.
Heartmom, prayers go out to your son, i sure hope you all get some good news!
