How Light Workouts Can Beat Hard Ones
This is an
amazing article from RealAge.com! They talk about how light exercise can increase your energy level even
more than moderate-heavy exercise! Once you've got your energy level revved up, you'll feel able to take on the harder stuff that helps you burn fat and protect your heart.
I know when I first started SBD, not only was it hard to find the energy to exercise but when I did, it was really painful! Even short walks had my back and hips aching terribly. Maybe if I'd taken it easier at the beginning it would have been possible to do more vigorous exercise at an earlier date.
Remember, every little bit counts--three 10 minute walks are just as helpful as one 30 minute walk! As our maintainers have learned, it's a
lot easier to exercise than it is to restrict calories--not that you don't have to do both--but it's a lot easier to do more of the former than that latter.
The article also includes (at the end) links to:
- a test to find out how "fit" you are
- find out more about what's currently sapping your energy
- tips on how to reduce stress, which may be a reason you feel so tired
The Editor's tip was really good too--here it is:

The best workout is the one you enjoy so much that you forget you're doing it. Like peddling a beach cruiser around town, snorkeling through a cove, or dancing to the oldies at a picnic. It doesn't have to be work to work.
