I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but felt it was as good a place as any to start...mods, if it needs to be moved elsewhere, I totally understand.
Has anyone here had fibroids and undergone surgery to remove them? How did the fibroids impact you, and did you find the surgery difficult to recover from? I'm currently in the process of getting ready for a myomectomy (fibroids detected on an ultrasound, now I'm going for a fancier version so they can get a more detailed picture of where they are and whether they'll have to cut me open or whether they can do the operation without slicing me). I've never had surgery before and am not really sure what to expect.
Given that these things knock me down for about 2 weeks every month (hatefully painful periods that make even the thought of moving a nightmare) I figure anything to get rid of them will be an improvement on my health and ability to lose weight. But I'd like to hear what I might be getting into from people who have been through it.
If you've had this issue, I'd really like to know if surgery has helped, or how it has affected you.
