Talking Hello, I'm new here!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site tonight!

I've decided that it's time to do something about the lardage I carry around with me, but am having trouble not being a defeatest as I have been big all my life and have tried every diet going, none of which have done much as I have no willpower at all!

At 42 I know I need to exercise more as I feel a bit stiff at times, but there's no way I'd go to a gym, so I need to find something I can do at home.

Welcome!
I never thought I could lose weight. But look at my ticker! I've lost 30 pounds!
You can start by making small changes. Try to eat more fruits and veggies, and try to go for a walk several times a week, or try a work out DVD. Start with a few small things, and then add a few more in a couple weeks.
Keep posting, and let us know how you're doing!

Hello Kitty Welcome to this wonderful site!

Good on you for making the decision to do something positive. Have a look at some of the recipes on here, there are a lot of really tasty healthy things to find!

I know exactly what you mean about exercise, I'm 36 and terribly lazy I'm also not keen on the idea of going to a gym, so at the moment I'm making sure I get a walk at lunchtime at work, and occasionally shutting the curtains, making sure my husband won't disturb me, and dancing to bad pop music - at least it's a start!

I read this site every day since I've started again, it's incredibly motivating. Read some of the success stories in the goals section, it really makes you realise that it's actually possible to do it.

Good luck!

Hiya Beth

I have decided to be chief dog walker in the house, and I have been looking at DVDs on amazon, but I think I might dust off my sons strider out of the shed!

I want to start healthy eating practices in the house, 'cos my youngest son, although not fat, has the same tendencies as me, and it wont hurt any of us to eat healthier.

Hi Tabitha,

I love the idea of mad dancing, that sounds like something I could do! I will certainly be back every day, if it gets past the filters at work I'll be on all day!
