I thought I'd post my before and after photos finally! I hope I do this right. The two "before" pictures were taken during a business trip to China in September 2006. It was pretty close to my high weight of 150. The two after photos were taken within the last couple of months ... one during a "bike to lunch" event at work, the other during a recent half marathon event. Do I look different? :D

DH says he thinks I'm pretty hot for an old lady. ;)

You look TOTALLY different. So much younger and very fit--definitely not an "old" lady at all! Congrats! :bravo:

:congrat: You look amazing! What a huge difference!

And I have to say that you're the happiest runner I've ever seen. I always joke that no one smiles when they're running, but you are certainly the exception to the rule. You are simply glowing in your last two photos. :bravo:

Thank you so much for the encouraging words!! I do feel great -- in the best shape of my life. I am so grateful to be able to run, and bike, and hike, and do all of the active things that I love. I have an active husband and two teenage boys, and I am able to keep up with them now! It was actually surprising to me to look back and see just how far I've come. Now, when I look in the mirror, I just see "normal" for me. And I'm 48, so it is definitely possible to lose weight and improve your fitness level at any age!

Wow! You look amazing!

Isn't it interesting how weight can alter a person and make them look so much older than they are?

Awesome!! You look fantastic!

02-08-2009, 04:15 PM

I can't believe you're 48 from your pictures! You look so much younger than that.

I'm also 5'2 and would like to get down to about your weight, so this is an inspiration to me. I can't wait for the day I put my own pictures up! :)

Awesome pixs. I am 47 and you have inspired me. I love your beaming smile!

01-20-2010, 02:57 PM
Your waist is TINY!! Wow. How are you finding maintenance to be?? It seems as though you are an active lady though so I don't think it's as hard as someone who just exercised to lose the weight and stopped after goal.

01-26-2010, 12:20 PM
I've been maintaining for over 2 years now. I continue to be very active, and that certainly helps! When you burn a lot of calories, you can eat a little more! I love all of the activities, so it's not hard to keep that up. It's just part of who I am now.

For me, maintenance goes in cycles. Sometimes it seems easy and other times are harder. I've gone COMPLETELY off plan sometimes (especially during vacations and travel), but I just get right back on track afterward. I still go up and I go back down (yo-yo), just within a much narrower range.

Fabulous job!
