I think it's officially spring! :flow2: I woke before five which is my spring/summer usual time. I hate doing that on rainy days but sure enjoy it when we have nice weather. :) I'm aching to get some gardening started but it's still too wet out there to even think of raking. The dog yard has just one big drift of snow near the fence but Hershey is working on eating that to the ground.

This morning I'm off to the gym for 7:30 :tread: and then home for Donna by 9. We had a wee talk last week about reliability so she'd better show today. I hope to use her for some garden stuff later on as I'm still not supposed to lift and lug much. (The ortho dude told me I'm doing really well yesterday.)

Today is the tenth anniversary of my retirement! :carrot: A good decision and an interesting ten years. It's also the 48th anniversary of my first wedding - a bad decision but an interesting 13 years! You win some and lose some.

Hershey tells me she needs her petting tank topped up so I'm going to take my coffee out onto the deck. It's only 33ºF but is going into the sixties today and tomorrow. Great weather for the weekend Syrup Festival. :cheer:

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Humpday!

Amber is spending the morning with me, so I'll have to rush right back here after Curves. Her school is on spring break this week. I have a craft project planned for her to keep her busy. I'd keep her with me all day, but Audrey and Maggie will be busy with their dance lessons after school.

Did anyone watch The Biggest Loser last night? I really wanted Kelly to win, she's come a long way and looked great, but I was happy that Ali won. Most of the contestants looked amazing! I'm not sure if I'll watch the next season though, the show is so unrealistic to the average person, and I get so annoyed at it.

I had another clean day yesterday, let's see if I can make it 3 days in a row. ;)

Have a safe trip to Florida, Kara!

Good Morning all. Wow, with everything thats been going on I realized this morning I haven't popped in to see how all my friends here are doing! I'm so sorry and I miss you all.

Lets see, I have the new vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom and it looks amazingly different! Aaron has to come back to install it in the laundry area and put the molding on in the first two rooms. The kid that set up this thing never put on the paper work to stain the molding! What craziness! I mentioned it to him several times!

Now that I have my floor I've stepped up my job search, which as you know is very time laborous. I'm even considering moving to NC. My son hopes I get an offer down there cause he will be able to live here if they pay me for this place!

OK, so how about that Ali? We woman won it this time around! GO ALI! I was really hoping Kelly would win. She looks terrific and I believe she deserves the win. But Ali did lose the weight! I dont know, something about her seems off to me. Anyway! Did it surprise anyone that the longer one stayed on the ranch the more weight they lost (for the most part)? And here Mark was at the ranch the entire time and still had a chance for the 100K. I'm so glad bernie won and not Mark! HHMMM, geez, I sure have gotten into it after the couples ended and they were in it for themselves! LOL

Anyway, how are you all? :cofdate:

Oh, I forgot to mention, Joe leaves today to head to DC. He and the democratic club at college scheduled this trip long before the pope came. I had to laugh, asked him when he got religious! They will be there through Saturday, come home Sunday! Woot, 4 full days without him, I'll miss him! But I do hope he enjoys himself!

I guess all three of us were typing at the same time! (((hugs))) to you both! Ruth, I also am itching to do some gardening. Too bad I dont know what the **** I'm doing!@ LOL I really need to revamp my design. The garden was dug before I came here, and I really am not sure I like it. Oh well. Retirement? I only wish!

Linda, enjoy your time with Amber. I also believe the show is unrealistic in their weight loss! we all can not devote our entire lives to lose the weight we need, no, we need to do it outside our busy work schedules. It's extra bad when you have a desk job that bores you. Not sure about you all but I've noticed I eat from boredom!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all!!
Happy 10th anniversary,Ruth...I can't wait to retire!..but it won't be any time soon. Both of my best friends are retired and I'm so envious of them!
Today is my anniversary also...started SB one year ago today (Last time I saw my Dad was 2 years ago today when I promised him I would lose the weight, so today is my "promise" day and I kept it!)

Cottage, I watched BL last night and was thrilled with Ali winning..either she or Kelly would have been fine with me. BUT...I'm wondering if Paul was really sick or did he just put all the weight back on. Enquiring minds want to know.

Nothing exiting happening for me. I am REALLY thinking about going back to teaching full time in the fall, so I may go talk to the principal today to see if they will have any openings in the fall. I am really tired of having no time for my own with my business and am ready to make a change...maybe.

Hey Lori and good morning...we were posting at the same time!

Hey femme, I was thinking the same thing about Paul!!!!!! He didn't seem to ever have it in him too lose, didn't have the desire. I think what he wanted was Kelley!!!!!!!:?::?:

Good morning, Loriann! We were all busy pecking away at the same time.

We're all up bright and early today, Cat! Yes, I was thinking the very same thing about Paul, but I read in another thread that he really was sick. Who knows? But the way he ate when he went back home for that week makes me think he hasn't lost much.

Gooooooood morning! I thought I might be the first to post but alas, the chicks are up bright and early this morn! We're all packed and ready to go - leave for the airport in about an hour and then arrive in Florida this afternoon. I am so excited, there are butterflies in my belly! This whole separation thing really stinks, but it *is* nice to have reunions!!! I've got a pretty, past-the-knee length skirt, new short sleeve blouse, and new really comfy and just adorable brown, leather (I know, bad vegetarian, bad vegetarian!) sandals on and I even put on MAKE-UP! *That* happens about twice a year! My grandfather will be here in forty-five minutes and it will be a tight fit getting everything in his Passat, but at this point I'd leave a kidney behind if they told me I had to!

Linda, have fun with Amber this morning! Hope your craft project isn't too messy!

Ruth, happy anniversaries and good luck with getting some gardening time with Donna!

Loriann, glad to hear the floor went in well. Hope you get the finish on it soon!

Cat, good luck with the job situation. I hope they have the perfect opening for you!

I got the car delivered and checked in to the shipping company yesterday and they told me it would arrive in Germany by the date we get there, so as long as we pass our drivers' tests we'll be good to go! I've already been studying so I should do OK. Everything's coming together! (*Cue major disaster* right? Since I mentioned all is well...)

Off to get a little breakfast in my belly. My eating was atrocious yesterday - good breakfast, then NOTHING until dinner time (shipping took longer than I thought) and then white pasta with veggies and bread for dinner (no other options and I was famished). Oh well. Back on the wagon today. Gotta fit in that bathing suit tomorrow!

Ten posts in less than 20 minutes! Lots of clucking going on today. I sure hope everyone has their options set to see more than 20 posts per page.

I'm mixing up a batch of dog food for Her Majesty. At pet therapy yesterday, someone asked if she was pregnant. It's a good thing dogs don't get embarrassed! We needs to weigh at the vet this week and see what we can do about getting her girlish figure back.

Have a good morning.

Ruth, I have a new (quick) recipe for dog food I came up with. I boil a container of chicken livers (yuk!!!!!) in water, then add a bag of frozen peas, then a bag of frozen carrots, then when that's all cooked, I add a box of brown minute rice and turn it off and let it sit for a bit. disgusting...but the dogs love it and I don't have to pick bones out of it. I've used chicken hearts too..equally gross, but I like the liver better cause I can chop it up in little chunks to distribute it more evenly. All 3 dogs love it. ick. And it seems to be helping with Stitch's allergies. Dog jambalaya!

Good morning chicks, I got up early too, well, early for me...
The cats decided everyone needed to be up this morning, so they made sure to wake all of us. It looks like it will be a beautiful day today. I was sooo on plan yesterday and got in my walk and a 4 mile WATP. I am really really hoping to see a little movement on the scale on Saturday. I don't usually let myself get too hung up on it, but sometimes, I just want to see something. I realized yesterday that I've lost 13 lbs in the last 4 months. That just doesn't seem like much... I want more! At that rate, it'll take me another year to lose the last 40. :( I know, patience, sigh...

Ruth - sounds like a contemplative day of anniversaries for you. I look forward to retirement, but I figure I've got to work for another 20 years or so. I've got to finish putting DD through school, and then two more to follow. Hope Donna shows up for you. Poor Hershey, give her ear a scratch for me. Tell her we've got a towel for her on the beach.
cottage - Hooray on three days cottage! :carrot::carrot::carrot: Have fun with your girlies today.
LoriAnn - glad you got your floor in. I desperately need a new kitchen floor, but I am making myself wait until we remodel the summer kitchen, so I can run it all the way through. Good luck with your job hunt!
Cat - Hope they've got that job for you. Happy promise day, what a special day to remember. You know Dad is proud and we're so proud of you too! Did you post in the "made goal" section? Maybe we need to start one of our own here on the beach... Hopefully I will join you there one day.
Kara - Have a great trip! And try and find some time for the beach! Destin does have nice beaches - I was there for a week last year, and took a walk on the beach every day after meetings. Very relaxing.

Good morning all,
Just wanted to check in and see how all were doing. I got up early and got my walk in and the lawn and flowers watered.

What is WATP? Is it a treadmill dvd or something I could do without one? No equipment here. Sneakers and a bottle of water is what I got.

Got to go shower. Then get the kids up and to school. Everyone have a great day and a safe one.

Morning chicks.... wow you are a chatty bunch this morning. Had DD to the drs again last night and the dr is booking a bone scan.. and has given her new pain meds and meds to help her sleep. I hope they find out soon what is wrong with her.... stress and I don't mix it usually makes me eat. But I have stayed OP so far.

Ruth- Congrats on the anniversary I can't wait to retire only 20 more years. :)

Cottage- enjoy your day with Amber have fun making crafts.

Femme- Good luck with talking to the principal. And enjoy your promise made day. Hope you have many fond memories today.

Loriann- Good morning... have a great day.

The BL I was glad a girl won but I so wanted Kelly to take it. I am glad that Mark did not win. But they all looked amazing. I would like to see them again in 6 mos and see where they are. I was thinking the same thing about Paul.... wondering if he really was sick. Well I can't wait til the next one. I am sooo hooked on this show.....

Hump day! which means we are closer to the weekend.

It's suppose to be in the 70's here today but it's cold right now so the warm up will be great.

I watched the Biggest Loser lastnight and was so glad Ali won I really wanted Kelly but kind of had that feeling Ali would do it as she seems unstopable. I am soo glad Mark didn't win anything. I too wondered about the Paul situation and if he is sick I hope it's not seriouse cause I know he said he came on the show due to health problems.

Ruth glad to hear your dr appt went well yesturday. Hope everything works out with Donna

Cottage heres some :dust: in hopes of three clean days in a row

Cat happy "promise" day anniversary!

Kara I hope you have a super safe great time and don't worry you'll lokk just fine in your bathing suit

Schmoodle don't get frustrated - the weight WILL come off and just think how great it will feel

Loriann, Janda, phx & LC I hope you have a great day!

I have been feeling a bit weird this morning like my sugar level is low - I feel blah, weak & tired. Hope I feel better for my lunch time workout.

 janda, take care of you.
phx, WATP is Walk Away the Pounds DVD. You don't need a treadmill to do it. There are lots of them, and I've checked out quite a few from the library before buying. I really like them. You don't need a lot of space either, which is something I'm short on around here.
lc, good to see you back and hope they figure out what is going on with DD soon. Good for you staying on plan despite the stress! Re: BL, doesn't somebody have a website somewhere with pictures posted of former contestants? I would be curious to see how they make out after the show is over.
Hi Gonna! I know I don't usually let it get to me, but things are going so slow now.

Good morning chatty bunch! You all are up early today. (We're already at 2 pages!!!)
Ruth - Congrats on retiring 10 years ago. Ii've got a ways to go, but I'm already looking forward to it
Cottage - Watched BL as well....I'm just glad a girl won (although I was pulling for Kelly). I continue to watch because whether or not if it's realistic I still like to see the AMAZING transformations. It can be really inspiring for me.
Loriann - Enjoy your weekend without dh....remember, absence make the heart grow fonder
Kara - Have a great time in FL!!! Traveling mercies headed your way
Cat - Good luck talking with your principal, I'm sure there's a job for you next year. Also thanks for reminding me the other day that the chicken recipe could be p1. looking forward to trying it next week.
Schmoodle - Patience, my dear, patience
Everyone else - Happy Hump Day!!!!

Ok, so yesterday was really a day in the dumps. At work I found out that the money that I use (via a grant) might be changed as to how I receive it. So I spent the day calling CA Senators and writing letters to persuade them to vote against SB1281. Then we had a LONG meeting in the afternoon and we were told that we have to stop using a behavior modification that we've used forever (time-out rooms) which really sucks and may not be beneficial to our students. I then come home and dh (who went to the urologist yesterday to find out about a low sperm count since we're trying to get pregnant) was told that he has to make another "deposit" in May....and then we'll know more. And lastly our financial guy whom we've been talking to re: getting a home loan told us that we would only qualify for a loan that is at least $100,000 less than any home is going for in So. Cal. Needless to say I had a slight melt down. However, I'm proud of myself for staying on the program, and I"m feeling better today. But it's all just so disappointing.....

Hey girls. Just a quick drop-by posting to say hi. It takes me so long to read everything I don't ever feel like I have time to post personals!!

I was hoping to "retire" in October when the baby is born but I don't think it's going to happen. I am planning on coming back in January and will have to work until about August, when DH will have a job and we will move wherever said job is! We have a solemn promise that when he gets a job I will be able to stay at home. I still want to freelance, I just want to be at home with kids. I do actually enjoy what I do--editing.

I had my 12-week doctor's appointment yesterday and everything looks fine! We heard the heartbeat and heard a little kick. I feel really good, just tired in the mornings and then the early afternoon. It's not so bad at night anymore. Chester slept in the cage last night and whined and barked from about 3:30 to 6 this morning. It was painful but he can't make it through the night without going on the floor so I guess this is our option. Trying to train him who is boss before baby comes. I panic every time I think about getting up with baby AND getting up with Chester. AAGGGGHHHH!

Have a lovely day everyone!

Good morning everyone. I see lots of chatter going on and I'm sorry to say that I just don't have the motivation this morning.

DH's colonoscopy is tomorrow. Poor thing is starving and will start on the cleansing solution this afternoon. There were some negative things found in his lab work, so the doctor moved around some appointments to get him in. That's what worries me - that he, a "healthy" 29-year-old, is being bumped ahead of everyone else. I'm trying not to be stressed in front of him, so I didn't start "freaking out" until I got to work. I'm sure things will turn out to be fine, it's just that it's him, my one and only, my soul mate, and I can't keep the worst-case-scenario from popping into my head.

Thanks for letting me rant, girls. You are all such a great support system for me, especially right now.

Cat - Thanks for that chuckle. I really needed it :D There's currently a shift in thought about isolation; so places that students go to/are asked to go to/are put in when a situation is dagerous are now becoming such that a student is not to be alone (even if you are standing right outside the door, looking through a window). It's hard to explain, but that's where we're headed.

 Hi, chickies! I managed to oversleep this morning and only woke up when my coworker called me! :o :yikes: I was so embarrassed! Anyways, I'm playing catch up now, so no time for personals, but I hope everyone is having a great day and enjoying beautiful weather and sunshine like we are here! :sunny:

Sadly, no gym today because I have to go to a friend's son's funeral. It's a very, very sad day. I think I'll eat a quick dinner as soon as I get home and then bring a snack with me, since I don't think there will be any food/or any SBD-safe food, anyway. Plus, I just want to focus on being there for my friend.

Special  for Kim--I'm a worrywort too. But, one of the reasons they may have bumped your husband ahead is that he IS a healthy guy--there's so much more they can do to prevent things getting worse in his case. Try to focus on that, okay?

I'm not always too sure of the truth of it, but my mom firmly believes that "thoughts become things" and the Secret/Law of Attraction seems to say the same. Think positively--and positive things can happen. Don't attract that negative energy. You and DH are in my prayers--and my positive thoughts. :goodvibes

Thank you, Laurie, Cottage and Gonna.

DH is at the doc's right now pre-registering and everything. He is definitely more positive than I right now, but I'm getting better. I talked to my mom and dad (he finally gave me permission ;)) and talking to them and reading Laurie's comments made me feel a lot better. I think we'll just have to get through tomorrow afternoon and it'll be less stressful after that.

Hello all. This week I can't get here earlier than 1. I am so tired. I was in the ER with DS3 (8 months old) Kristopher. He's been sick with the stomach bug since Saturday and I thought he was getting better yesterday so cancelled doctors appt and last night he started shivering. So I ged him his dinner, gave him a warm bath and swaddles him and put him to bed. An hour later, I checked on him and he was burning up. I undressed him and gave medicine. Soon after that, he started breathing extremely fast. Gave him his treatments and it wouldn't stop. Finally his temp dropped, still high but dropped but his breathing was still fast. I took him in and nothing was wrong. They checked blood, urine, and did a chest xray but showed nothing wrong. So, they decided that it is a viral upper respiratory "infection". Came home and slept for 3 hours since I didn't sleep one wink last night and DH was trying so hard to get out of taking the two oldest to school, I almost got into soooo many accidents coming home because I was falling asleep driving. I told him that he has to because I can't keep my eyes open. I went straight to sleep. He came home and took care of DD and he came back to bed. I had to get up to feed Kristopher and he went right back to bed. I didn't go back to sleep because I had to take care of DD and hubby (Leo) didn't want to wake up. I was so upset because I didn't get any sleep and he's the one who got to sleep all night and slept all day and wouldn't let me rest. I feel like I am just in a haze right now. I still have to go and pick up DS1 and 2.
DS1 is doing better. I think he is getting the picture about discipline and consequences now. I checked into a martial arts thing here and they have a one time free trial class that he can go to to see how he likes it. And it's only $100 a month. Leo says we can't afford it but I suggest that he stop buying beer every night and stop buying stuff on ebay, then we can. But he's too stubborn and has priorities mixed up. I told him that since "we" can't afford it, I will pay for it out of my cake money and ask my mom for help. He doesn't want to ask my mom for any more help but since he can't sacrifice things then I have to go and ask. It's for my sons benefit.

Kim, hope all goes well tomorrow. My grandmother likes to say "don't borrow trouble." Don't assume the worst, just hope for and expect the best. I know, easy to say when it's not happening to you.
Tawnya, kinda sounds like you have 4 DSs instead of 3! Hope your baby is better today and lets you get a good night's sleep tonight.
Glad you are doing well, Jessie, Awww, hearing the heartbeat is so special. Makes it seem like there really is a little person in there after all, doesn't it.
Hey to the rest of you!
I want to stay and play but can't knock off quite yet, trying to finish reading a 500 page boring technical document and hoping I can get through it before dinner.
DD1 painted the ceiling of my living room today and it looks great! Tomorrow she'll do the walls for me.

Hey girls!

I thought I posted in this earlier....but alas, I cannot find it.

It was a beautiful day here today. I went for a walk in the park with DH and DS. We came back and there was a floral delivery. Apparently hubs felt like sending me flowers. They are beautiful. I'm starting to think he did something wrong and doesn't want me to find out.... :)

I found a really cute skirt at Target, REALLY cheap. A black and white floral cotton skirt for 2.49!

DS is going to bed in a little white, and then hubs and I are going to eat dinner. Spaghetti with pasta for him and spaghetti squash with sauce for me. I also made the little SBD cheesecake cupcakes for dessert, but I added a little sugar free cherry gelatin mix in it. Cherry cheesecakes!

Also, Cat, I found the "Fudgesicle" brand pops. It took a bit of scouring, because they didn't look like I thought they would....Thanks for the info!!

Have a great rest of the night, ladies! See you all tomorrow morning :)

Yeah, sometimes it feels as if I have 5 children instead of 4 because of Leo. No, I have 3 sons and 1 daughter. I feel like I have many children with as much chaos and errands that I have to run. Good night everyone. I am just too tired. I've had a long day. Sweet dreams.
