ok so i know its supposed to be 1/3 c as 1 serving, for my plan anyway but how much oz is that? ITs kinda hard to weigh pasta and i always estimate but i know i'm having more than i should.

How do you measure your pasta? oz, cup, raw, cooked?

TIA

I used to cook mine first then measure it out in a measuring cup. I’m not sure if that’s right or wrong. I had to give up pasta all together, a 1/3 of a cup just isn’t satisfying. That would just be teasing myself!

When I measure pastas, I use a measuring cup and toss it in after it is cooked. I find it expands and would rather be sure it is the least of the two. Not sure what the vets around here think.... I would not really be able to convert it to oz as different pastas weigh different in the same cup measure. KWIM?

If I remember the box correctly it is weight/measure dry (uncooked). I have measure out 2 oz (uncooked) and it comes out to about 1/2 c. cooked. Different sizes and shapes will give you different weights/amounts. Hope this is helpful. Best bet is to read the package to see what it says for serving.

It depends on the pasta. If it's small (like penne or rotini) I measure it dry with a measuring cup (usually 2/3 cup). If it's big (like angelhair or linguine), I measure it dry on my food scale (2 oz). I always measure it dry - that way I don't cook too much. If it's cooked in the pot, I might be tempted to just throw it on my plate.

I used to take the box and divide into individual servings first so I knew I had it right. I found the dry cup msmt generally wasn't all that accurate. Now I weigh it in ounces - simple to do, a small accurate digital kitchen scale is only around $15. I highly recommend it.

i bought a digital scale and highly recommend it also, i dont know how i put up with that darn LAWL scale so long. I just wanted to know how much oz i should be having because i think the serving on the box is more than the LAWL serving.
