Good morning! There's going to be a glorious Monday and the robins are singing a hallelujah chorus out there. Throw on a robe and come sit on the deck with coffee. It's nippy but there are lots of quilts. Have a :coffee:

After a relaxing weekend, :) I'm ready to start my day. Lists are made, dog is fed and petted and I'm going to the gym. First time in a long time so it will not be a lot of fun. :tread:

What's happening on your Beach Towel today? Can you make it a tad marvellous? :cofdate:

Spring has come into full bloom around here over the weekend! Everything is bursting into bloom and the trees have new little baby leaves on them. :)

I had a great weekend, but this morning the jeans I wanted to wear are too tight. We all know what that means. :( I have too much to do this morning to go to Curves, but Monica lent me her WATP dvd's, so I'm going to try to find time to do one of those while I'm rushing around.

What're your plans for the day?

Good morning, RUTH! Looks like it was a tie this morning, thanks for the merge!

 Once again we were simulposting, Linda, but I won by a nanosecond! Not a sign of leaves around here but the pussywillows are out. It's here! Happy Spring Monday!

Morning everyone! Rushing off to the tub after Fluidity. Kind of cold here this morning...low 40's, but should warm up later.

Thought I'd share this quickly... yesterday I stuffed chicken breasts with a mixture of laughing cow cheese and fresh tarragon and a slice of lf ham. (cut a slit on the side of each breast to stuff it.) Then sprayed them with olive oil pam and dredged in a mixture of oat flour and parm. cheese and creole seasoning and baked till done. Really good and tasted kind of like Chicken Cordon Bleau.

Good morning Chicks

Thanks for the coffee Ruth. I really need it this morning. Hate those nights when I spend half the night making a mental list of all the things i need to do -after- I sleep!

Ruth - Good luck at the gym!

Linda - Sounds like a busy day. Hope you get a chance to enjoy those baby leaves in your travels :)

Cat - Wrong thread but have to say - you look fantastic! You look like a new woman, energy seems to just shine out from you now. Wow!

Nothing much here today. It's a really busy week and I'm packing it into 4 work days because of those excess vacation days. This is why I don't take time off - it's too much work the other days!

I just ate leftover rice pudding with apples for breakfast. I realized when I figured up the nutrition that I could, occasionally have that for breakfast with a fat free protein snack ready for mid-morning and still stay on plan. It was yummy and decadent and yet not bad for me :) Can't ask for more than that!

Meanwhile Luna kitty is feeling so much better that I caught her up on a desk behind a monitor this morning. Little beast.

Have a good day!

Good Morning Chicks. Yes it is me, the one who has been really lacking in being around. So I am bring you all a round of coffee and tea. I am finally finishing up with all the big fundraisers. So things are slowly slowing down. Thank goodness. We leave next tuesday for Halifax and then we have the year end show in May then I will have a break for the summer. :carrot:

Ruth- Glad to see that you are going to the gym must mean that knee is doing better and better. Thought about you this week end when DH and I were thinking about what kind of plants we could put in our rock wall.

Cottage- Tight jeans I can relate to that. I am back on track with the eating plan. I have got to learn not to stress eat. Hope you get your walking tape done. Have a great day.

Femme- The chicken recipie sounds yummy. You should write a cook book. I would be one of the first to buy one. Have a wonderful day.

Cindy- Good morning. Glad Luna Kitty is feeling better. Hope you find a little time for you with all the work you need to do.

Me- Not much just kinda of enjoying that I don't have a million things on my to do list. I do have all my meals planned for the week. We are getting a new baby on tuesday night. I will post picks of our newest addition. Her name is Ella and she is all grey except for a little white on her back paw. She is six weeks old and a tiny little kitten. DH gave in to the girls. So now we have two dogs, one cat and one kitten. We are starting to look like a zoo.

Well hope you all have a great day. And a big hello to the chicks coming in after me.

Morning girlies. I had such a busy weekend! Sorry I wasn't around to check in on everybody. Tommy's aunt was in town to do our travel party, so we picked her up from the airport in St Louis on Friday, and it's been nonstop since! Was a fun weekend, but I'm exhausted. Feel like I didn't have a day off.

The travel party was fun though!!! We had a lot of people show up, and my parents decided to buy their own agency too. It was a blast, but once it was over, I'd hit my brick wall. Had nothing but appetizer type crap all weekend (most not bad.... veggies and dip, cheese truffles coated in chopped pecans, etc) and then stayed up late last night too, so I'm just plain ol' pooped.

Hope you girls had a great weekend! Gotta get ready for work. Talk soon!

It's Monday again:( and a bit cool here.

Good morning I tried so many time to post this weekend but it never showed up. I was able to read just not respond.

tdprincess sorry for your loss

Cat your chicken recipes sounds great as I am a huge fan of chicken cordon blue and your sounds like the healthy way

Cottage I hope you get in your workout and be sure to hang on to those jeans as you will be in them in no time.

Ruth glad to hear your heading to the gym hope your workout and your day are both productive

Cyndi glad to hear kitty is doing well

Morning LC, Schmoodle & tk

Saturday I went to the beach with my mom & her best friend and well I get burnt up pretty bad and I think I had a touch of sun posioning and today I am still a bit sore in certain places but for the most part it's already turning to tan instead of beet red.

Busy day for me as of course there is work and a lunch and evening workout and then gotta give the furbaby a bath and what ever else falls on my plate.

Good morning! I'm runned () and showered and dressed and breakfasted and the kids and I are about to head off to a pre-gymnastics make-up since we'll miss class on Wednesday since we'll be IN FLORIDA! Two more wake-ups!!!!

Ruth, thanks for the quilt this morning. It is chilly out there!

Linda, good luck with all of your running around today! When you finish, you can say you "runned" too!

Cat, your recipe sounds wonderful! I bet I could use my fake chicken and do the same thing. :T

Cyndi, glad the cat is feeling better!

LC! Good luck with the end of dance season. Hope everything goes well!

Schmoo, Monday again indeed! Except this is the last Monday before we LEAVE FOR FLORIDA! Sorry. Just a little excited this morning.

Tawnya, I'm glad you got a reason out of your son. That should make it a little easier to understand how to help him better.

Lisa, I'm so excited that your party went well! I just have to say that I can't wait to GO TO FLORIDA! (How many times can I fit that in this post???)

Gonna, chug that water! You'll recover soon, and then wear some sunscreen next time, lady!

Off to gymnastics!

Good morning Chickies!

Ruth - Thanks for getting the thread started this morning, hope you have a productive time at the gym.

Linda - Be sure to enjoy your spring....if you don't, before you know it summer will be here!

Cat - Can't wait to be in P2 so I can try your chicken. It sounds fantastic.

lc - Hope things go well with the new kitty. Kittens are simply too cute!

All others who are here now, or who will show up later....HAPPY MONDAY!!
Out here in California the weekend was SO HOT!!! This morning is cool...cool enough for me to get out the old DVD and do and mile walk. OH MY GOODNESS! I am so out of shape. This only reconfirms that being back on the beach is the best thing for me right now.
I am pleased to share that after my first week back I am down 6 pounds!! I'm pleased with my results, but will have to remain on P1 for a while longer as I had a 1/32 piece of Boston Cream Pie on Saturday and a very small piece of ww bread at Soup Plantation last night. I would really like to get the cravings to go away.

Heather, you can do that chicken recipe in ph1...just leave out the oat flour and do it all in parm cheese, or just leave the "crust" off completely...probably won't even miss it. Just sprinkle a little seasoning on top.

Whew! I thought doing one of these WATP videos would be a breeze for me, HA! I've been going to Curves and doing their advanced workout religiously for 4 years, so I started right off with the "Express Super Challenge 4 mile walk." I conked out after barely making it to 2 miles. :whoo: I'm not in as good a shape as I thought I was. :( Tomorrow I'll be wiser and start off with an easier one.
I just checked, Monica gave me all the power workouts!!!!! They are fun, though, and they are something I can do when I don't have time to go to Curves. :)

Everyone sounds happy and in a positive frame of mind today, you're all doing great! :bravo:

Ok, now I can go into details. DH went to the gym. He doesn't like me going to people and telling our business, but when he doesn't want to listen what else am I supposed to do?! My best friend suggested that maybe DS doesn't understand the whole picture. He knows it's wrong but he doesn't understand why it's wrong and what will happen, consequences, etc. So, Saturday night I talked to him. And lo and behold, he had no clue why it was so bad and doesn't understand consequences of both the good and the bad of it all. He doesn't understand the process of thinking things through. I also found out that he has no friends at school and these kids are very mean to him and he just wants friends so he'll do what it takes to get friends. I asked him why he doesn't talk with the good behaved kids and he said that they don't like him, that they hate him. I told him that he needs to stay away from the bad ones because they are just getting him in trouble, not them. They can sit back and laugh about it and they lied to the vice principle saying they didn't have anything to do with it and the vice principle believes them, not my child. I completely believe my child because he isn't the type to just do something like that out of nowhere. I am so frustrated about the situation with the vice principle and I know if I go higher than him, they will still be awarded "the win" and it'll still be completely my sons fault and the other child won't be in the picture at all. does anyone know what I can do about it?

I have an NSV to share with you guys - I started my new kifestyle in May of last year and at that time my blood pressure (which was never high) came in around 120/70 well today the company nurse came in to do physicals and my blood pressure was 100/66 :D which she said is very good and even though my weight isn't coming off she said she can see a difference in my size and big difference in my health

Who cares about that scale;)

tomandkara
04-14-2008, 01:48 PM
Tawnya, in my very humble opinion, I think you should just let your son "serve" the rest of his suspension and then be proactive about helping him learn better coping skills. It doesn't really matter at this point who is at fault because your son *is* the one who did the catch-able wrong. He has to know that, even if someone else told him to do it, it wasn't right to do. This same situation is going to come up again and again - teasing, bullying, pantsing, smoking, drinking, etc., etc. I understand that you're upset and frustrated that, were it not for the other boys, your son wouldn't be in trouble, but the fact of the matter is that he did do something wrong. The important thing now is to work with him to bolster his self confidence and sense of right vs. wrong so he can make good decisions in the future. Does the school have a counselor or psychologist? Could you request that he be given time with him/her? What he needs is a reason to behave. I never smoke or drank or misbehaved in high school because it was WAY more important for me to be healthy for gymnastics than to fit into some crowd. Your son needs that. What if you set up some system with his teacher where she could "grade" his behavior every day (maybe a smiley face or a sad face) and if he came home with a positive report every day for a week then he could pick a new toy at the dollar store or something. Maybe you'd have to start with a "prize" for every day he comes home with a positive report and then move to every two days and then every three and on and on until you've got him "weaned" to prizes only every week or month.

Good luck!

Kim, so excited about your whoosh!

Jan, hope they figure out what's troubling you!

Linda, thanks for the report on the four miler. I haven't done that one yet.

Off to clean out the car.

well..good afternoon all:
Ruth: awesome beginning to a monday morning! I made me want to be there on the porch! LOL
Cottage: i know what you mean about the tight jeans :) You'll get them loose!
Femme: That chicken sounds yuummmy! you should post the recipe :)
Cyndi: hope you enjoyed breakfast..and you'll get through the busy week one crazy day at a time, don't forget to take breathers!
LC: welcome back to the track, hope you enjoy the kitty, it sounds quite cute! Makes me want one! :)
schmoodle: sometimes nothing exciting is good :)
TK: glad to hear that you're starting to get to the bottom of what happened with DS1. I don't know what to say to help you on this one. All you can do is take care of your son and hope he learns from this. Parenting is a hard job!
weez: sounds like a fun weekend, now to detox...LOL enjoy the slowdown
GB: thank you for the warm words and warm hug  to you! Great news on the health front! That is what happened with my mom too. She started the beach and the dr's told her to not have a goal weight. They told her a goal size and to not look at just what the scale says. Congrats on changing your life! :carrot:
kara: have fun in Florida, this is a good time to go
heather: for p1 I'm in the same boat as you..one day I'll get through it and so will you :)
Kim: Congrats on the scale move.. I'm sure that took endurance, great job!!
Janda:    I hope you find out what it is soon, the worrying is the worst. Sometimes, knowing is better because you can prepare and do what you need to do. My thoughts are with you!

Me: well, I'm feeling a bit better. Got to sleep the night, feel a bit better. My hips are still sore but ok. I'm kinda relaxing today. Will head over to a relaxing dinner with the family tonight and then tomorrow family from all over is coming in... That'll be the big night... Other than that, I plan to start back full on the beach on either Friday or Monday...we'll see how things go...
My poor DH has been working by himself, I usually work with him. He is doing so much to take care of me.. Although, I am letting him get a bike for the summer :)
Anyhow  to all. Thanks again for the tender thoughts, I appreciate it all!

Love your description of the robins, Ruth! I can just see them on your railing with Hershey conducting. ;) DH and I took a walk with the dog this morning and heard a woodpecker. We couldn't find him in the tree but know what tree he was in. We saw a cardinal on one of the lawns too. There are little signs of spring everywhere. :cloud9: Love the graphic you attached, too. I know it won't be easy to be back in the gym, but I think you will feel a sense of euphoria at finally being back in there and doing "normal" stuff again. I was afraid to go back after my accident, but I felt so good after that first workout (emotionally--physically, I was sore!!!). I hope it's that way for you, too.

Yikes, sorry, Chicks! I had a bunch of students so I never got back to this! :o

 to everyone!

Janda, I'm so sorry--but sometimes it takes a long time for them to find out what's wrong because it's not serious. That's happened to me, twice. Don't give up hope!

TK, have you considered getting DS into a class/group/etc. where he can meet other kids? If he knows he has friends outside school, that might bolster his self-confidence. I met my childhood best friend in preschool but we never went to school together after that. I didn't have many friends in elementary school, but I always knew I had Shelby, and that made me feel good. :) I'm glad you talked it out with him!

Congrats, Gonna, on that wonderful NSV!!! :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Congrats to you, too, Kim on the weight and the AWESOME NSV!!! :yay: :woohoo: :yay: Tucking in your shirt is a MAJOR accomplishment, IMHO! :D

Me:
Busy day at work--but, hopefully, a quieter night at home. Off to the gym after work, then dinner and shower and getting the trash out to the curb.

A very dear friend of mine suffered a terrible and shocking death in her family. I'm still reeling and am praying that I can find a way to help her without intruding on her grief. My heart hurts so badly for her.

I hope everyone has a beautiful day!

we have been doing that and it was doing so good then all of a sudden this. We have become alot more "easy" on him and this happens, now we're back at phase one with him. The counselor doesn't believe my son either so a conference with all won't do. And I feel that the other child will still lie about it. These kids here are just terrible. They are very sneaky and mean to him and they know how to work around the system. My son on the other hand is very naive and isn't very "street smart" so he doesn't understand the right and the wrong in everything. He doesn't understand why it works this way and why not the other. Now with everything that he does, I have to question him to see if he understands why he's doing it and why it happens liek that. Alot of it he doesn't understand. Yeah, i believe I should just keep moving on and try to boost my sons confidence and to stand strong no matter what. I just can't stand the kids in his class. They are so naughty. The vice principle and counselor and principle have everything all messed up. I hate it. And my husband on the other hand just thinks my son is pretending to be stupid because he wants to be "babied". Well, the way things are going with my son and discipline and everything else, I'm pretty much his support right now (my son). I have to be the one to teach him to be strong, and confident. I have to be the one to teach him all over again right from wrong and about consequences and what happens, etc. I know that when he told me that the other kid lied to the vice principle and the vice principle doesn't believe him, I told my son that I do, I do believe him and I know that felt so good to him to hear that I am the one who believes him when no one else does. I told DH that we REALLY needs to be put into a sport or some kind of group so that he does feel accepted cause at school he's not accepted and he doesn't feel accepted by my hubby and probably me. He needs something that will make him feel really good about himself. DH agrees. Anyone know of any websites for free or cheap sports for children?

TKglenn....Kara said it best....I think I would take this from the standpoint of a learning experience. Teach your son...can you do behavior charts at home/school? Daily check-ins? Have you thought about any outside counseling? Sounds like you are not happy with the school and what they have to offer? Does he have any kind of disabilities?

Just remember that schools tend to talk to EVERYONE involved and investigate the situation before jumping to conclusions. It would be odd that a bunch of kids all have the same lie down pat. In my experience with schools/kids is that someone somewhere will get tripped up in the lie and the whole truth will come out. Let's hope if this is the case with your son, the whole truth will come out when he gets back to school. Sounds like sports or a play group will be great for him.

tkglenn
04-14-2008, 04:30 PM
movielover-what is unique about this group is that they are getting smarter and smarter each year. They ALL bundle up and back each other up. It has happened in the past with my son. Yes, I can't stand the school he goes to, neither do alot of other parents that I have talked to but nothing can be done about it. These kids are smart and they know how to lie. They know to keep their mouths shut. My son came out and told the truth about it. Hopefully the truth will slip out of someones mouth. And even if it did, nothing would be done about it. It's a brush off the shoulder type deal and no one will get disciplined for it and my son will still be labeled as bad. It'll come out some time during class and maybe some one will tell the teacher but she'll brush it off. I hate the school he goes to and it sucks because they don't have open enrollment here so he's stuck here and can't go anywhere else. Yeah, I need to find something and a good friend for him. They do behavior conduct at school every day and he's been getting E's everyday (it's the highest conduct a student can get). He's been doing really really good. They did a full investigation but the other students are all lieing about it. I guess it's one of those--we'll see what happens.

Hello, everyone!

I just cleaned up dinner (had greek tacos-hubs and son had tortillas, I wrapped mine in lettuce- and a tomato, cucumber, red onion salad) and now we're headed to the grocery store to fill up our water jugs.

DS and I went to the library today. I picked up 2 SBD cookbooks (quick and easy and summer meals) while DS picked out a tape about trucks :) I also picked up the new Cooking Light magazine 2007 cookbook. I'm going to look through it to see if there is anything that can be beached up a little bit.

I think we're planning on watching a movie later tonight. We got "Million Dollar Baby" from Netflix, and even though neither of us really are enjoying it....we feel like we have to finish it.

Have a great night, ladies.

I've been super stressed with taxes and etc. . . so my beach towel has a lot of holes in it right now and I don't have much patience for cooking so I'm goign to Ph 2 it until things calm down a bit this way I can have a bag of cooked WW pasta in the fridge to pull out when I need something quick!
My brain is pudding tonight Kashi go lean is Ph 2 friendly right?
Peapod is coming tomorrow and I have the foot Doc and hopefully can get this boot off!
TK  Does your town have a rec center or something or maybe sports through church? My neice and nephew do that. Kids suck a lot of the time and they are cruel (I mean the other ones not your boy) I'd never go back to that age
Ruth! I'm coming to your deck!! that sounds Idyllic I'm bringing my extension cord for my electric blanket!
Cottage WATP is a booty kicker sometimes But I heart Leslie!
Kara how long are you going for? you're going to have such a good time!!
Ok I'm fried I can't remember who else posted!
I had an interesting experience today at WW. My leader was talking about exercise and bum foot aside I've been doing well.
She had me say the wieght I have lost over all which highest to current is about 90 pounds. I've been beating myself up a lot lately and it felt really good to acknowlege how far i've come.
OK going to try to pry this boot off have a good night!
