I may sound like a complete ****** here but i'm really unsure. Does flavored water, especially yummy special k water, count for your daily water intake. I can drink this stuff all day and I'm a big water drinker.
a floavored water according to WW is counted as half a water , a 16oz bottleof flavored water is only worth 8oz of regular water, i love to drink crystal light but i have to drink twice as much so i make sure i get in at least 2 full bottles of plain water too daily . hope this helps
I could be wrong in this, Janet - but I think a flavored drinks counts as only half its amount of water only when it includes things in it that are not all that great for us, and often have diuretic effects, as well, such as sugar, artificial sweetener, or caffeine. A water flavored with a bit of fruit juice, ect, counts, i believe, for its full measure of water. So, the special K waters, ect, you would have to glance over the ingredients and see if there is anything in there that you feel is 'bad'. I'll check around the WW boards and see if I can find a more 'official' answer. If I can't, maybe I'll go ask on Bootcamp Buddies. Those girls are really on TOP of staying TOP <grin>.
Actually, I believe that in WW, non-water beverages can count for half of your water requirement. This it isn't that a 16 oz bottle counts as an 8 ounce bottle, but rather for your 10 glasses, 5 of them can be milk, fruit juice... any non-caffeinated beverage. So the 16 ounce bottle counts as 2 glasses.
If you're on any diuretics, blood pressure medications or kidney disease runs in your family, or drink huge amounts of caffeinated beverages that you're not counting, PLEASE talk to your doctor about fluid requirements. When my mother was in WW, their leader told them that coffee didn't count, and encouraged them to drink extra water if they were a coffee drinker. For mom, because she drank several cups of coffee a day, meant she was drinking about a gallon of fluids a day. Mom ended up in the hospital with water intoxication (she had healthy kidneys, but was on a common mild high blood pressure medication). As a result, her kidneys were permanetly damaged (diminished to 50% function).
Her kidney specialist told her that ALL liquids count, even coffee and those in food, and put her on a 3qt liquid limit (over and above solid food).
Water intoxication is rare, but extremely dangerous, if you're going to drink more than 3 quarts of liquids (any liquids), I think it would be wise to talk to your doctor about it first.
Well If Liquid Was Our Only Problem Right , I Am Doing Good Right Now Not Even Having An After Work Cocktail, But I Fall Off The Wagon With Food , After 8pm. I Do Know That Sometimes A Cup Of Coffee Does Help My Cravings , I Need To Find A Way To Not Let Food Control My Thinking .any Suggestions On That
Hobbies that occupy the hands and would be difficult to do while eating can be a help. Like for me crocheting (if I'm going through a really tough patch, I'll even specifically choose a white or light colored yarn, so I'm less tempted to snack while working for fear of staining the project). Painting and working with polymer clay are also great too, because getting my hands "dirty" snacking means interrupting the project to wash my hands first. Coming here and reading and posting. For me boredom is a big food trigger, so I have to find ways to entertain myself.
And, for those days when nothing is working and I can't distract myself, I try to keep on hand a lot of low calorie foods that I can eat in bulk on, like raw veggies and a fat-free dip, a humongous mixed green salad with a low-calorie dressing...
