Default Is it time??

I am almost done with week 3 and I am curious if it is time to start working out a bit? I am concerned about messing it all up and expending too much energy- like going into starvation mode. What do you guys think??;

Before I increased my physical activity at work I had gotten a treadmill. My ex is pretty up on excersize and he said I should just start out at 10-15 min a day and not raise the incline at all until I got used to it to avoid shin splints and other trauma. Then, I could add at 5 min. intervals every week or two when my breathing and body could handle it.

The MF Excersize Guide can help you calculate your proper heart rate. Almost everyone I know who has any experience says that a good heart rate monitor is one of the best investments you can make. I really don't like pedometers. Everyone I've seen seems cheap no matter what the cost. I got one that would not count my steps but would register 3-5 steps whenever I sat down. For myself, I'm getting a heart rate monitor.

amazingplatinum - Hey there! I've just started, so I can't tell you from personal experience, but you probably will be fine as long as you start off slow. They say to wait about three weeks and I think the recommendation is no more than 45 minutes of vigorous exercise a day while you are on the weight loss phase. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Operator265 - I've had the same experience with pedometers...even the fancy expensive ones. They don't record nearly as many steps as I know I've taken. I counted my steps once as I was walking across the building at work and it was nearly 100 steps off! Then I'll sit at my desk for about 10 minutes, look at it and it's recorded 15 steps while I was just sitting there! I don't think I bounce around that much while I'm typing. I'm thinking of getting a heart rate monitor for when I start working out, too. It's got to be a lot more accurate than a pedometer.
