100 lb. Club - Newbie trying to lose about 80 pounds...OK to post here?
Saw about 140 pictures of myself in a bathing suit yesterday (my son's bday party at an indoor pool), and I've got to do something because I don't like looking and feeling like this. Gosh, I just don't even KNOW how much I weigh...I just know that my size 18s are getting tighter and I am NOT going to buy 20s. This looks like an active group, and 80 is nearly 100 pounds...isn't it? Can I join?

Nope, sorry, you've got to put on at least another 20 lbs to qualify for this here group ;). Just kidding of course. You are more then welcome to join this incredibly supportive bunch. And just like fiberlover says, anybody and everybody is welcome. Takes me back to the beginning. I remember I needed to lose over 150 lbs and mentioned that in my first post here, questioning if it was the "right" forum for me.

There is a bathing suit thread going on here somewhere that I'm sure you will find some good laughs in! Personally I have not worn a suit since the summer before I got married! Darn my husband for telling me over and over he doesn't like skinny girls...lol.
This place is very active and very motivating! These folks are so awesome! I'm glad you found them too!

I'd really suggest weighing yourself and getting a real number to start from. It might be hard to look at now but it's just a starting point and once the weight starts coming off, you'll wish you knew exactly how much you'd lost.
Good luck and post a lot. It really helps to keep you focused and motivated.

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME glad to have you here at the site. You have found a great place. All of us understand finally coming to a point we want to start eating healthy and like how we look again. Isn't it great, just eating healthy and getting some exercise comes with the wonderful side effect of losing weight and getting in shape. Have you decided what steps you are going to take to become a more healthy and thinner person? Hope you hear from you often, let us know how things are going.

Welcome! This is a great place for support and ideas. Basically my "aha" moment came after a health scare with my husband. The next day I planned my attack. Threw out the junk food. Made a better shopping list and started walking and haven't looked back. I've had off days sure but I am so much better than before. I used to play the "I'll start Monday" game and was in big time denial. Just get started. Today. Whatever plan works for you (this site is such a good resource to find the right plan). I hope you come back and post more. This group is awesome.
