This flu is really kicking me. Last week I managed to get 8 miles WATP (total for the week) I walked then crashed. Waving hello at the newbies! To the rest I'm happy to see you working it!! I'm very proud of you guys. Fiber the 4 mile WATP you have is the one I'm a doing. I LOVE it!
I'm totally afraid to weight myself. For some the flu makes them not want to eat on me that is not the case. TOM is on it's way so I'm going to skip WI this week and try my best to move. A good note my DH bought me a Heart Monitor workout thing. ( I have to read up on it when I feel better) Sorry so short my eyes burn when I get on here. Going to lay down.

04-06-2008, 03:49 PM
We missed you this week!
I do like that 4 mile one. I do say the option to do music only without listening to Leslie is quite nice LOL!

Today DH and I got the bikes off the rack and tuned them up. I took a short 2 mile ride, need to get my butt used to riding again. I weigh 20 pounds less than last fall when we put the bikes up and I really notice the difference!

04-06-2008, 04:08 PM
Just popping in -- I posted with you guys briefly but lost track (I am still exercising 30 minutes every day!!) -- just linking you up to Gary's little run he "organized" -- I personally think it's a neat idea and joined in -- thought maybe some of you would be interested too. Hope you are all having a great day :)

04-06-2008, 08:37 PM
mez - sorry to hear you are still sick :( Total bummer! Glad to see you posting though!

fiber - there really is nothing like sitting on a bike seat, it can be SO painful at first! I want to buy a bike, so I tested my neighbours out, and I gotta say, I prefer a man's bike, lets my arms stretch out better.

No exercise for me today, Day off, also its POURING rain out!

04-07-2008, 03:15 AM
Mez I hope you feel better soon. I didn't post last week every day but I did get my 2-2.5 miles a day. Today I got up to 2.5 miles and I pulled weeds in my yard for 45 minutes today (yes I have that many the pile of weeds was huge). I still have a bunch to pull tomorrow. At least it works the back of my legs :)

04-07-2008, 10:05 AM
fiberlover Ė lol yea itís nice to keep you quiet. I usually put the whole thing on mute and play my own music. That is once I have the workout down. Which is fairly quick with WATP. Aw a bike ride sounds nice.

shelby897 Ė Congrats on your fitness! Thanks for the link.

SwimGirl - I also only ride menís bikes because I find them more comfortable.

Gela Ė Congrats on your workouts. Yard work can really work muscles one doesnít know they have. WTG!

As for me the remains of the flu are still hanging on. Just the general bla today. TOM is showing itís ugly self so I will be doing battle with that also. I figure itís a great life lesson in perseverance. So I WILL be weighting myself and take into account my illness and TOM. I WILL work it and rid myself of all I gained and more. So that I can continue to my goal and be healthy. So my plan today is workout. (no set plan on how many miles) Weight myself give myself a reassuring talk afterward and eat well the rest of the day. Now hereís the thing I am struggling with. I really donít want to move my ticker up after my WI. Iím not sure if it will do damage to this mental game of my weight loss. I was thinking of giving myself a week to lose some or hopefully all that I gained. Is that cheating like a kid saying do over until they achieve their goal. Or is even that cheatingÖ geez on one part I think it is but the other side says you are not really since you know the gain and due to illness and such you are just recovering. Do you guys get what I mean? Sorry Iím just thinking and typing maybe not the best combo for me right now. Iíll will be reporting back my weight gain and my work out later.

04-07-2008, 10:07 AM
Fiberlover - CORRECTION!!! Keep her (L.S.) Quiet!! So you can get a better workout! Geez Mez = Queen of typos!

04-07-2008, 10:13 AM
fiberlover Ė lol yea itís nice to keep you quiet.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: on the typo!

As for the ticker - if it were me, I would change it. We can't just only record the losses. Weight loss isn't linear (as is a favorite saying around here), and gains happen, whether they are deserved or not. Being accountable for the gain, and moving on is part of the whole process. There is no reason to feel bad about it, try to just see it clinically instead of emotionally. The ticker has no feelings LOL! {{{hugs}}}

04-07-2008, 01:47 PM
mez - I agree that you should record whatever your weight it today, I think it keeps us accountable. At least it does for me!

I am weighing in this morning too, I am slightly scared since I haven't been on the scale all week, so it could very well be a gain. I haven't eaten the best this week, maybe the exercise will have kept me the same. Skinny Fingers crossed! I will be back later to post my exercise! I am hoping for a 40 minute walk - depending on the weather!

04-07-2008, 03:50 PM
I posted my WI on the WI thread. Not good.

I walked for 40 minutes today, but I think thats it for me. I am actually done with this weight loss process. I am going to be gone for a while, I can't do it anymore.

Best of luck to you all!

04-07-2008, 07:46 PM
Aimee!! Don't give up! Sticking with it through the hardest parts are what matters.

04-07-2008, 07:55 PM
Today was heavy duty day. I did Day one Week one of Couch to 5k. I can't believe I could do that with no problem! Will see if I say the same next week LOL.

I also did my full body bowflex workout. Did 3 sets instead of 2, and think I will leave it there for a while.

DH and I got the bikes out again. Did a 4 mile ride tonight. DH is really not in good bike shape - I could ride circles around him, so it isn't much of a workout when we go together. He did promise to ride every night this week - so hopefully he will get faster :D

04-07-2008, 08:48 PM
No walking today as I have already clocked 14,000 steps between track and basketball practice. I'm surprised at how much my lower back has been hurting just from the extra walking. I plan on working on some lifts to try and strengthen that so I'm not having as many problems. I should get the green light to start swimming later this week which I am really excited for! Early AM practice tomorrow, followed by work, track practice right after school and basketball practice right after track... busy, busy, busy...

04-08-2008, 03:20 PM
Today was Hard Core Fusion, plus I will be doing another bike with DH tonight. I am hoping to get him to try 5 miles, but will settle for another 4 like yesterday :)

04-08-2008, 03:42 PM
Exercise...hmm...I don't know why it's so hard for me to do. I just don't like doing it :( I'll do it for few weeks and then I'll stop for few weeks. I barely exercised last couple weeks. Although I started again yesterday. I walked 45 mins on the treadmill while watching a movie. Today when I go home I'll do some ab exercises as well as 30 - 40 mins of treadmill.

04-08-2008, 06:33 PM
Todays exercise plan, 20 minutes of cardio and some ab workouts, maybe tonight strength training?

04-09-2008, 09:04 AM
I forgot to post yesterday....another 2.5 mile walk :)

04-09-2008, 09:06 AM
19,300 steps yesterday!!! Track-a-thon today (walk/run around the track for 2 hours to raise money for the team), so I plan on aiming for 20,000 steps today!!!

04-09-2008, 04:37 PM
Gela - great job!

Kim - 20,000 steps!! Wow, that is impressive!

Today I ended up doing a lot of exercise. Got up early to do the Couch to 5K training. Then we walked to breakfast at Dunkin Donuts (25 minutes round trip), then I did my strength training workout.
Then I did leaf raking at my flip house.
DH said he wants to go biking later, maybe - so it might be even more! I am kind of tired, though - but I will do it.

04-10-2008, 08:45 AM
Hi All

If this makes any sense, I kinda just stumbled back on the weight loss track this week. Soooo this is how the exercise has gone for me so far.

5 min treadmill
5 min gazelle
5 min recumbent bike

Took off

5 min bike
? Min orbitrek(not much)

We will see what today holds in store

04-10-2008, 09:00 AM
19,400 steps yesterday... I really wanted 20,000 but my feet were hurtin a little too much... 15,000 today is the goal (no practices or gym class, so I'll have to go for an extra walk after my Drs. appt.).

04-10-2008, 09:28 AM
Circles - great job on getting moving, keep it up!

Kim - that is still a ton of steps! I got a new battery for my pedometer yesterday, so I can start wearing it again.

04-10-2008, 02:13 PM
fiberlover~ I'm obsessed with my pedometer and only take it off at night

04-10-2008, 04:19 PM
fiberlover~ I'm obsessed with my pedometer and only take it off at night

You should sleep with it on and see if you sleep walk

Today I did 4 Fast Miles with Leslie Sansone. Then we are going for a bike ride again tonight. The last nice day for a while, according to the forecast.

Have you all joined the 3FC 5k for this weekend? http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138919

I might need to do it indoors if the weather is pouring.

04-11-2008, 03:50 AM
You guys are so inspiring!!I haven't started exercising yet and with you guys as examples, I feel I can do it! I plan to do Leslie Sansone (but not 4 miles) just 1 to start. I soon will be starting Joyce Vedral weight lifting on alternate days. I'm sure I'll be back here for some of that will-power dust and Mother's Day and Memorial Day goals sound good too. And I love that one about the pedometer to check for sleep walking - very cute.

04-11-2008, 04:43 AM
Yesterday: 3 mile brisk walk. I'll be timing my 5K walk on Sunday. Hope you all participate!

04-11-2008, 09:31 AM
Doragone - glad you found our thread! Mez is our fearless leader, but she has been sick - so we are carrying on for her. You will love the weight training, I wish more women weren't afraid of it. You will build strength very quickly (but no bulk).

Gela - I am doing the 5K tomorrow, it might have to be indoors, though.

04-11-2008, 04:29 PM
Today I did my full body bowflex workout. :lifter:

I also did W2D1 of C25K. I jogged for 90 second intervals! Woohoo! It was doable, too. I may make it through the 9 weeks after all!

04-11-2008, 08:07 PM
So only 11,000 steps yesterday... the weather is really nasty out right now and only supposed to be worse over the next couple days so I haven't exactly figured out what I'm going to do for exercise this weekend as my neck injury keeps me from doing all my workout DVDs. Any suggestions?

04-11-2008, 09:14 PM
Kim - maybe pilates?

04-13-2008, 04:47 PM
Well, I had a fun day today. My sister got me a guest pass to go to the Y with her. We did the treadmill for 30 minutes, then circuit training.
I could have spent all day there! It was great.

04-14-2008, 12:40 PM
Hi All

Fiberlover(Lori) I'd love to get to get to the pont where I can say I had a great time exercising.

Consistancy is such a big problem for me.
I did get in a little workout yesterday.

10 min on bike
5 gazelle

04-14-2008, 01:12 PM
Circles - make that a goal for yourself. To do a little bit each day consistently. It will build upon itself, you'll see!

Where's Mez?? We need a new thread!

04-14-2008, 02:16 PM

You are so right, and believe me I know it's what I have to do.. Unfortunetly I'm one of those people who knows what needs to be done but never or rarely but it into action. My husband once told me as much I as read I should be 50lbs. I will do my best at putting an effort into being consistant.

04-14-2008, 04:36 PM
Today I walked 1 mile and hoping to do another mile and some sit ups later on.

04-20-2008, 09:11 PM
Lori - thanks for the warm welcome and the encouragement to continue with the weights. I am finding that I like them very much.

Circles - I too, am a bit inconsisitent, but that's why we're here . . . to get that great encouragement Lori and others like her give, then someday, someday . . . we'll be able to do the same. I'm like you too, read a lot, do little or nothing - but you and I, we must become committed (one way or another ;-) to our goals. Rah, Rah!!!

I bought the Fit Day program to use at home and this has really helped me. By putting the food into the program as soon as I eat it, I can see how close I'm getting to my limit. And the exercise entries help me to "see" how my work out (whether with weights or digging in the yard) affects my calorie balance.

Hope to check in more often . . .

Oh, and I'm in the Biggest Loser Challenge too
