Morning! I gotta throw today! I took some ibuprofen so I can move. I really worked out hard at water aerobics yesterday. I actually am not as sore as I expected to be, but then I use my arms, shoulders, and back to work, so they get a good work out wedging and lifting....
Not much on the agenda today. What is up with all of you? :)
I do know I will be making my mother's famous leftover breakfast for everyone today...fried dumplings and scrambled eggs.

Good Tuesday morning everyone. The sun is out and its beautiful here. Well wonder what good things could happen this month. We had a huge storm last night. Tons of thunder and lightening. Eating was weird last night. I had a baked sweet potato for dinner and didn't want anything else. Then later I got into the banana bread. Wish I would have put the loaf in the freezer. Today will be a better eating day I'm sure.
Monet- Wow the dinner and breakfast sound wonderful. What a cook you are. You always make me sigh at your menus.
Well I'll be back in awhile....

Hello...I am giving serious thought to starting SugarBusters...anyone got any info for a "wanna be SugarBuster :?: ? I bought the book and the recipe book and I'm still lost! I am not that crazy about fish but I am willing to eat it IF it is not too gross and NOT for breakfast! I wanted to start today but I need to grocery shop first so I am gearing up to start next week. Hope you can help! ~Peggy

Good Evening Everyone, ( I posed this this am..but since the thread was cosed right after I thought is repost here..!! :)
I had along day yesterday and didn't really have a chance to even say Hello. I am very happy to see the posts picked up. Always a good thing..
I got through yesterday with out a single bit of sugar or high fat SF treat. One whole day. I have been doing so poorly and even with the treats. It was time to buckle back down. Spring is here, and although it's not nice out yet soon enough it will be and I don't want to have to work really hard, when I could have been in the habit weeks prior. Me bad eating habits at night had returned and so I had to cut that cold turkey.
I did a step/weights interval training class for 60 min then I did about 30 min of Zumba before I went home.
I have been awake since 445. I can not wait to move out, my sister and her finance can be so loud sometimes. Usually they at least me coffee when they leave for work. Today I was on my own. How rude!
OK onto the reply's.
Monet-That dinner sounds quite yummy. Why is it that all the yummy foods are bad for us. HA. Im sure after today you won't be as sore. It usually takes 1-2 days for the soreness to wear off. I recommend on those really sore days doing some water laps. It honestly helps with the soreness because it helps your muscles to relax and warm up. There is a big difference from being sore and real hurt, so listen to your body, and don't over do it. The more you do it it gets easier on the body.
Crystle-Awesome job on the 5 pounds. That is amazing. I am or was(i gained) about 5 pounds behind you. Im curious if you don't mind sharing this, for you what does that translate into for pants size? It always amazes me how different people fit into clothing. I hope I can report even a pound loss this week. I have a lot of xtra gaining to loose from my awful 2 week cheat.
Toni-I hear you on the planning. I do so much better when I go to the grocery store with a plan and have good foods ready. its when I get lazy and hungry that I go awry. Yesterday was a new day--I got through it and today I will also. We can do this.
BOB-Odd about the bike. I would call just to give them a heads up. Sometimes people do report stolen bikes and such. This way you can't be blamed. The best, you could give someone back something that happened, the worst, nothing happens and your not worse off. Couldn't hurt to call. Hope the DMV went well. I know the feeling about not wanting to "find" something to do. Like Toni says today is a new day so just start right back up eating well. Wendy's is the "better" choice though of the fast food. Just saying. LOL
Solly-Shopping for new stuff is so much fun. I can't wait to put my appt together this summer. I have slowly been shopping for it. Luckily I got my sister finance to paint it, I just have to pick the colors. I can send him your way. LOL I wasn't "lost" per say. I just was off in my perception as to how far this walk was going to be. This seem closer in a car at 30 mph than walking in the wind. HA. Im going to complete it some day when it gets a tad nicer out.
mari-I agree walking with a friend is a good thing. I have a decent "friend" base at both gym I attend so let me tell you its much harder to not go when you have people ask you where you have been. it helps give the xtra push. I do "love" the gym but it can still be a challenge to get there some day. Awesome grocery shopping for legal recipes. you will have to post the recipies that you really like. I need new ideas!!
Ok everyone have an awesome OP day!! YAY us. We can do this!!
Lets have a challenge day where we all agree to be 100% legal for 1 day. I know we could all do it. It would be interesting to hear how everyone does. What does everyone think?

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!
It's http://bestsmileys.com/storms/10.gif all around, but not in the city. We had rain last night, but today, the rain is falling 2 inches per hour. Now that's a downpour! http://bestsmileys.com/weather/1.gif
Got to the DMV yesterday and walked right in and right back out! http://bestsmileys.com/clapping/1.gif
I jinxed myself though talking about getting up early...this morning, the clock went off, I turned off the buzzer, rolled over and woke up at 7:50 a.m. I'm supposed to be at work at 8 a.m.!!! http://bestsmileys.com/eek/2.gif http://bestsmileys.com/eek/3.gif I got to work and clocked in at 9:08 a.m. I don't know if all the rushing got me going, but I've been in a constant hot flash all day. I don't take estrogen because I'm considered high risk due to my maternal GM having BC and died from it. I think though that I'm going to have to bit the bullet and see if my GYN will give me a low dose. I looked like a PICKLED BEET all day to the point of everyone asking me if I was crying. http://bestsmileys.com/crying/9.gif
I called the police about the bike. They sent an Officer and he said there wasn't anything we could really do since we didn't know who the boys were. He took the bike down to the station and hopefully, someone will call about it and get it back. It's spring break and the kids have nothing to do but roam around. http://bestsmileys.com/frustrated/7.gif
"****'S KITCHEN" starts tonight. I love that show, so I'll be tuned it at 9 p.m.
PEGGY...WELCOME...you'll like our way of eating. The cookbook is really a waste of time, but it may help you. Hope you decide to adopt our plan.
JACKIE...I saw in the Lexington Herald about the death. Everyone respected him. I read where Tubby was so emotional when called, he couldn't talk. I assume he will attend the funeral. They are having it at RUPP ARENA.
MONET...Your lastest piece is really pretty. How did your work go today?
TONI..I'm right there with you on the weekends. It's hard, and as you saw, I caved and had WENDY'S!!
CRYSTLE....Let me know when the garden comes in. I'll take a road trip and help you harvest! http://bestsmileys.com/cars/4.gif
GYM...I do that every now and then. Waking up so early does make for such a long day. Do you know when you are moving?
HOpe I didn't miss anyone. Sorry if I did. I'm off to recline. TIPPY http://bestsmileys.com/dogs/2.gif is already on the bed and snoring.
http://bestsmileys.com/tvshows/1.gif is on tonight as well so I'll have flip back and forth to watch that.
Hope everyone has a relaxing evening http://bestsmileys.com/kissing2/5.gif

Morning! I am going to suit up and head out to Water Aerobics in a few. Then, I will come home, shower, and head out to a closer in area to take a friend out to lunch. She is EXTREMELY pregnant, and her husband is out of town on an install this week. (he is a blacksmith and does decorative metal work, like banisters, and such) They are a good bit younger than us, and I claim them as adopted kids. They have been wanting kids for a long time, and I think I am almost as excited about the impending arrival as they are! I will treat it like a grandchild... We will go to the DeKalb Farmer's Market for lunch. They have a stupendous, healthy cafeteria. You pay by the pound.
PEGGY: :welcome3: We are very glad to have you join us! The book is a bit confusing, isn't it? In a nutshell, you avoid the whites, and corn, and limit your starchy carb servings to three a day. Eat lean protein and lower fat dairy and you got it! I don't think you need to eat fish to succeed. Especially if you don't like it! Chicken is ok, and even beef if you choose the lower fat cuts. Pork loin is pretty lean too. The best thing is to find things you LIKE, and just incorporate the SB rules to things to make them legal. You will be more successful if the changes are something you can live with, long term. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. We say around here the only dumb question is one you don't ask! :)
GYM: I am sorry I closed that thread and did not move your post for you. I was hurrying, and that always makes me sloppy. Thanks for reposting it.
BOB: I hate when I oversleep and have to rush. I bet you were on time today!
TONI: Too bad those dumplings are not ok for Sugarbusters! But they are loaded with potatoes and white flour! A glycemic nightmare! In fact, a lot of Bohemian food is high glycemic. I guess though, they worked it off in the fields and walking everywhere.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies,
Not much time to post, we have 2 bids today. Didn't get to the gym last night, we had to do "touch-up" in the dining room and move all the furniture back. Glad that is done. Now we only have to touch-up the bathroom.
Bob, I saw the arrangements. He was loved by so many people, including Rick Petino. He will be missed greatly. Did you make it on time today?
Monet, glad you weren't sore, I wasn't either, but then I did not do toom uch upper body wts. Enjoy your lunch.
Peggy, welcome, Everything Monet said is right on. Anything with the word "enriched" is a no-no. Starchy carbs consist of cereal, bread (ww), pasta (ww). I try to stay at 2 a day. Ask any questions, we will be glad to help.
Toni, it is going to be nice today and then tomorrow and Friday storms, cooler and rain starting again Monday or Tuesday thru Thursday. I am ready for some sunshine.
Gym, glad you are back on track. I knew you could do it.
Got to run. Have a great day.

Good Morning,
Had another bout with the damn cookies last night. I gave the rest to my sister Fiance because I just can not have them in the house. I have lost the will not not eat what is in front of me. My sister leave for a cruise tomorrow and I will grocery shop and cook for myself only for 11 days. I will have no excuses for eating bad. This is the perfect time to regroup while I am alone with no food distractions. I won't buy the crap, I just eat it if its here. So 10 days is a good restart to the program.
Ellen-No worries..Like that was something you should worry about. Have fun with your friends today. pregnant people are so cute. Im that crazy lady who wants to touch all the baby bellys and ask 500 questions.
Solly-I am moving July 1st. Well the week around it as July 1st is a Tuesday I think. I can't wait. I have known about the move for about 3 months, so total I have had 6 moths notice. I have packed, shopped and saved like crazy. I was not happy about it at first but now i am excited. Its time.
peggy-Welcome. Glad you found us. Ita a great place to be, lots of support.
Bob-Aw man that happens to me too. I hate when I get all red and there isn't anything I can do about it. Its almost worse to think about it because it makes it worse. It used to happen to me when I exercised and everyone would get worried. Sorry you slept in. My day was quite long but also quite productive.
Toni-Today is going to be a good eating day. We can do this, although Lately I feel like I keep saying it but can't do it. Grr if it only were the power of positive thinking. HA Good luck. Funny my sister had 3 rotting bananas on the counter and I though ohh those would make a good banana bread. All night I wanted it, but god knows Id never take the time to make it. So sometimes there is something to be said for being lazy. HA!!
Ok everyone else have an awesome day..Im off to teach my classes.;)

Good morning all! Sorry I've been gone so long, but I've been working a lot and spent this past weekend in the city celebrating our older daughter's 20th birthday. We all had a wonderful time. She made reservations at a restaurant named Tao. It had a lot of Asian food on the menu. We all sampled a dish that had 7 different sea weeds on it. I have to say some were very good and others I wouldn't feed to my worst enemy! Overall we enjoyed it very much. And then the bill came:dizzy:. Thank God these types of celebrations only come once a year!
I've put in 3 applications so far in my search for a job with benefits and a pension. Since most of them involved working for the state in some way, I'm sure I won't hear back for a good long while.;)
I have Parker and Grace today and then will go into my evening job and do some hospital surveys.
I just realized the time and I'll have to cut this short. I wanted to do personal posts for everyone but don't have enough time. Good luck to all this week, welcome to all new members, and stay healthy.
P.S- I'm down to 175 as of this morning.:carrot:

Howdy everyone. Hope you all are having a nice day. Its beautiful here but cool and we're suppose to get (drum roll please) MORE rain tonight and tomorrow. My gosh are we in the monsoons or what. I'm trying hard to eat right. I had a lean cusine dinner last night. Wasn't the best thing for me but I was giving Steve something I couldn't have. Like mashed potatoes. Tonight will be salmon, salad, bussel sprouts and maybe a baked sweet potato.
Peggy- :welcome: To our little corner of the world. You'll love it SB when you get the hang of it. Remember to stay away that white bread, white rice, white flour and eat 100 per cent whole grains. Like a good whole wheat bread, brown rice and not instant, whole wheat flour, oatmeal but not instant. Lots of veggies and fruit everyday. No bananas, or watermellon but pretty much the rest. You're just eating healthy.
Gym- I know you're really fighting the fight to stay eating well. I'm having a bad time with the banana bread. Next time I have a whole wheat recipe I'm going to try. But it will be along time before it comes in this house again. I just have no control over those sweets so they need to stay out of the house.
Bob- Dang The biggest Loser ran right over the new ****'s kitchen. Wish I had TVO or something that would have recorded it. I love that show but am so hooked on the biggest loser.... Everything is all piled up at the same time on Tues. night. Hope the flashes got better and the doctor can help you. Hope this is a good week at work. Even if it didn't start off good.
Ellen- Sounds as if you have a nice day planned. I was going to a friends house for tea today but she called and canceled cause she just won 20,000. on a 5.00 scratch off ticket. Shes going to collect it. I'm so happy for her she can really use it.
Solly- don't work to hard today. Glad you're getting your room put back together and things done. Hope you have some free time then. Keep those good work outs going. Sorry I've had to send you rain.
Chris-Yippe on losing the weight. You're really doing good keep it up.....
Well time to fix hubby some lunch/breakfast. Be back later....

Evening everyone,
Thanks for the reply Peggy & GymRat, it is comforting to know someone is out there.
Have gone through the Sugar Buster! and SugarBuster Recipe books and think I'm really going to enjoy this life change. I refuse to call it a diet, I've been on a million of them and I'm still fat! I think eating this way it the way to go.
I have a friend who is a sugar addict and as soon as she cut out the sugar and white flour she dropped the weight and has maintained for years. She knows that if she starts she can't stop so she chooses to abstain altogether. With all the allergies out now it would be easy to say "Sorry, no thanks I have a food allergy" and then people won't feel the need to make you fall off your diet (Come on, just have one) and keep hounding you.
Last night I started out right with the spinach lasagna recipe from the cookbook. Loved it!! I actually made my own sauce with ex lean hamburger and lots of vegies so I can use it for spaghetti sauce too. I forgot to put the 2 eggs in so it was a little runny but the taste was great. Now I have 7 servings of lasagna and 4 of sauce in the freezer for quick meal nights.
Today was toast and allfruit spread breaki and a salad with grilled garlic/lemon shrimp for lunch. Dinner came and I wasn't very hungry so just had a slice of toast with spread and a glass of milk.
When I was making lunch I was thinking this is just a fast as going through the drive-thru or getting take out - it took all of 8 minutes from frozen shrimp to meal on the table.
I think a big part of this journey will be retraining myself. I'm single and it's easy to say "Oh, it's just me" and grab something easy. I have to learn that I am worth the effort and spend the time on myself.
Well that's enough of me blabbing on.
Penny - how's Hawaii sound for our birthdays? :-)
GymRat - from your picture I think you are adorable now, what a knock out you're going to be
BOB - I think you sound like alot of fun
Ellen, and everyone else, I'm glad to be here and take the journey with you

Hi everyone! I'm a night owl and can't sleep so I am finally getting time to post again. It's good to hear that others have struggles with their weight loss like I do.
I am finally getting rid of that d*!# chocolate I had in the house. It is just too tempting.
I am trying new SB recipes -- I love pizza. Took a 90 cal WW flatbread and put on my Pamp Chef stone. Added pizza sauce, lean cooked ground beef that I added spices to, pepperoni, thinly sliced onion. Baked at 400 for about 8 min, then took out and added LF Mozz cheese and baked another 3 or 4 min. It was delicious. My husband liked it also.
I went to the mall again yesterday and walked for 20 min early before the stores opened. I enjoyed all the store windows to look at and made the time go fast. I am meeting a friend again Fri for another walk. I really need to get into the habit of walking again. I have an elliptical machine in my basement, but am too out of shape to even stay on for more than 5 min.
I am learning to like fruit again, but still need to incorporate more veggies into my day. Anyone have any good ideas for veggie side dishes with your meal.
Bob - I too have trouble with hot flashes for years and was unable to take hormones. I had a sister die of a blood clot. I have opted to tough it out without them. Have you tried any natural remedies at the health store.
Thanks for all your posts and moral support. :)

Morning, Buster buddies!
I have Bible study at the church this morning. I was scheduled to facilitate the discussion AND bring refreshements. I am taking ww cinnamon rolls. They are not totally Sugarbuster friendly, but more healthy than regular. I use less sugar, and I even used the 'organic' sugar, though it makes little difference in glycemic index. Sugar is sugar... I may eat one. Any leftovers I promised to one of the young women who come. She asked me to make these, since she had them at a shower I did a few weeks ago. And of course I said sure!
After the study, I need to stop in at the ceramic supply place and get a few chemicals to mix glazes with.
I will check back when I get home.
155: :welcome3: Glad to have you join us! Sugarbusters is one of those plans you can do for life...it is just healthy and sensible! Let us know if you have any questions. I am looking forward to getting to know you.

Every time I tried to make to the board since Monday something has come up..err :)
Welcome Peggy and 155. Peggy we found a fish that doesn't taste fishy..tuna steaks. Oh my gosh, they are SO good. A little balsamic vinegar, seasoning and bit of olive oil then grilled. It cooks so fast and actually taste like meat. It even passed my picky step dad test..LOL
155....LOVE LOVE LOVE the food allergy excuse.
Gym..hang in there. The next ten days will help a lot with getting back on track without sneaks. The only reason I'm not sneaking is because I'm so afraid of having to take medicine if I don't get my cholesterol down. You asked about pants size, I'm an 11/12 right now. I do have a coupld of 10's but they are on the stretchy side. I'll be this size until I loss about 10 more pounds. Because I'm 5' 7" I can lose 15 to 20 pounds before I go down a pants size.
Mari...WTG getting in the walking.
Toni and Chris...WOO Hoo on your weight loss this week.
Solly...((hugzz))
Bob....I'll be sure to call. No one around here likes to help harvast, only eat it. :D Because we finally got some rain most of the things I put in are starting to break the ground. Hopefully this weekend I'll get the last of it in. I still have some purple hulls, and scallop squash to put in. I may add another row or two of greenbeans and zuchini depending on how many rows are left out there. Hopefully my mom will grow some tomatos since they don't do well in my soil. I was gonna grow some in pots but didn't get a chance to get the soil needed.
Monet...I hope you have a great study this morning.
Guess I'd better get moving. The whole house should be waking up any minute. Jess is already awake. He usually wakes up first.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Good morning ladies. We're getting the rain again. You can look out the front door window and see the river is up. I did really well on my dinner last night and had salmon baked, salad and green beans. It was so good. Hopefully today I'll hit the treadmill again. I've just got to make that a habit....
Gym- good girl for working out. I have two or three cups of green tea in the afternoon. Its a real pick me up.
Bob- You sound busy gal. Glad you had a better day.
Peggy- ****'s kitchen is so good. I love that show...
155- The spinach lasagna sounds so good. And I love to have leftovers in the freezer. Good going!!! You're sure on the right track.
Mari- Man that pizza sounds yummy. Wish I could get ww flatbread around here. I'll have to look somemore. We're going to super Wal Mart this week end.
Ellen- Have fun at the bible study.
Crystle- Wow its not even time to put those things out in a garden here yet. It would get frost bit for sure. I'm dying to plant though. I put tomatoes in a big pot on the front porch and they do so good.
Solly- A big howdy.......
Going to go have a bit more coffee. Have a great day......

Hey Everyone..Just saying a quick hello. I'll do personal replys later. I have to go bring my cat to the vet. He is sick and I have no idea what is wrong with him. He's almost 10 so that limits my optimism that its just something minor.
Funny, this cat has been a thorn in my side and a constant trouble maker since I got him. I bout with the dryer and a surgury to remove thread from his stomach. All before the age of 2. He since still has done nothing but cause trouble. I still want him to be ok. I am not ready to put him down, but financially I can't afford to do much for him.. So Im crossing my fingers it's just a bug or something quick they can fix. Can you all do the same. Thanks.

A cool snap (below 70 degrees) is good pinto-bean weather.
A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola or pop . . . it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor. Example: 'What kinda coke you want?'
Fried catfish is the other white meat.
We don't need no stinking driver's license . . . if our mama says we can drive, we can drive.
I thought that was funny, especially since it's almost entirely accurate. I was just checking in..not much time to post. How's everyone? Hi, Crystal!

HeartMom.....And here I was thinking you meant Alabama! Did I read the scale right and that you have lost 128 HeartMom? If so how long did it take you and did you do it on SugarBusters? That is amazing to think about and I am sure it took a lot of hard work! And if that is your picture (the lady with the long red hair) I have to tell you when I saw it I thought "Yeah ...like she has EVER been fat!" To all other Boarders.....I hope to get all of your names straight soon! ~Peggy

HAPPY FRIDAY EVE EVERY BUDDY!!!! http://bestsmileys.com/drinks/4.gif
We were really busy today. Now that all the Snowbirds are going home, all the locals will be coming to get their bones fixed! http://bestsmileys.com/medical/3.gif
There's a storm on the horizon, so I'm expecting something sometime tonight.
I won't fuss about it, we'll be needing the wet stuff. Hurricane season is almost here again and of course, I'm not ready yet. I've got to get my box ready and shop for everything we'll need.
PEGGY...My smileys come from bestsmileys....have at em...there are some really cute ones on there.
I'll be glad when all the TV shows get back on the tube. I've missed my shows.
LAURIE...That's cute. How are the kids?
TONI...hope that rain slows down over your way. As for the pizzas, I use pita bread and sugarfree pizza sauce. I know WALMART has those and I'm sure you can get the WW there. http://bestsmileys.com/eating1/2.gif
GYM...Fingers crossed for your cat. How old is the little furball? http://bestsmileys.com/cats1/1.gif
CRYSTLE...I love purple hulls. Of course, I love anything that comes out of the garden. This soil down here is terrible. Too much sand. Tomatoes grow good in tubs though. You might try that.
MARI...I have tried the natural stuff and it doesn't work for me. I'm just doomed I think. What do you use?
155....I'm so glad you decided to join us. Welcome....we do have a lot of fun here on this board. Just wait until football season!!
MONET...How was your day?
WHERE'S JACKIE????
I'm off to take the garbage to the curb. I'll talk to y'all tomorrow.

Evening everyone,
Thanks for the warm welcome here. Thinkin' I'm gonna like it here.
Well got through another day and for some reason this doesn't even feel like a diet, it really is more of a life change. Choosing to eat what is good for me and finding out it tastes great. What a treat!
Had lunch out with my stepfather and the restaurant had a salad to die for, grilled chicken on a salad of spinach, greens, red pepper, celery, red grapes and roasted cashews. Dressing on the side (of course) was a balsanic vinegar/oil blend. Really excellent, think I'll try it at home.
Tonight was chicken cordon with wild/brown rice and green beans. Tasted great too. I think it has alot to do with spring/summer coming. I always gravitate towards lighter meals when it's warmer outside and want the heavy comfort foods when it's cold.
GymRat hope your kitty is okay, even though I have 3 dogs I still miss my big old cat who passed away couple years ago. A dog just can't give you the kind of hugs a kitty can. My one dog Harry HaHa tries but it's just not the same.
Heartmom, that's amazing that you have lost that much weight, you look gorgeous in your picture. Question: Did all your skin snap back into place? I'm really worried about all the loose skin because I have been heavy for so long. Think all the elasticity in my skin may be gone.
CountryMom-I agree about the tuna, love the stuff. Also try Mahi Mahi, another great white fish that's got lots of flavour and really low calories.
Toni- When I get a little organized I'll post the recipe for that lasagna, I'm with you I like having stuff in the freezer for easy meals.
Ellen-I'm looking forward to getting to know you and everyone here as well, seems like a wonderful group.
Peggy: What day in December? Mine's 19th.
Bob-What can I say, I have the same "Big Girl Panties" saying taped to my computer at work! ;-0

Good Morning. TGIF
So as it turns out my cat Tigger is probably going to be fine. Nothing was blocked, so for right now the vet thinks it was the change in food that upset his stomach. They gave him an iv and a dose of pepcid, charged me way to much money and said to keep and eye on him for a few days. So Im hoping thats all it will be.
Since this week was TOM and I didn't do well this weekend, I decided to skip the scale until next week. All the crap food is gone and We went food shopping yesterday. I only have healthy food and stuff to cook. I have a great feeling about the next 10 days. I got through 2 days, and even went to dinner last night and did great. No bread, chips or anything bad. Had plain salad, and Chicken scampi with broc. My sister and her best friend left for the Caribbean this am, so I have been awake since 4. Thanks goodness for coffee.
155-Im glad your doing great. Getting through one day at a time is all you can do. Awesome job! Thanks for the kind words about my cat. I agree with you earlier post about cooking and making the effort just you. I was never one to cook, but since starting SB, I cook so much more. granted its nothing too wild, but for me it was a start. Good for you!
BOB-Thanks so far he's doing ok. Eating again. Always a good sign. We have rain today too. It was such a spring day yesterday..I dislike rain so much!
Toni-Awesome job on the treadmill and good food yesterday. Keep it up and it will become a habit. Whoo. Green tea is so good for you, I just don't always remember to make it anymore.
Crystal-Thanks for sharing your pants size. You are a little taller, but I am about a 12. They fit good, but still are a smidge snug. If I could get down to the 160's im sure theyd be much better. My goal would be an 8. Just to be in single digits would be amazing.
Ellen-How did you do with the cinnamon rolls? I don't think I could just have one...Hope the church meeting went well either way!
mari-Great idea walking the mall before it opens. I see people all the time doing that, though to be honest the stores distract me. Id keep trying the elliptical machine even if it is only for 5 min. After a week try for 6 min. Eventually you'll start getting into better shape and it will be easier. Good luck. :)
Ok Im off to watch the news with my coffee. Everyone have a great day, sorry If I missed anyone, it's early. :)

Morning! I meant to get back here yesterday and I never did. I ended up in the garagio last night trimming and decorating a couple bowls. I need to pull handles on a bunch of mugs, but that is going to have to wait for this afternoon. I intend to go to Water Aerobics this morning, then to meet Tom for lunch. THEN I will have time for the garagio. :)
The cinnamon rolls turned out the best ever...and I did eat more than one. :o I sent the leftovers home with the young woman who asked me to make them. She and her husband are both tall and skinny....
I need to go suit up for water aerobics. I will try and check in later!

Good Morning. Today is grocery shopping day. Steve and I shop for two or three weeks at a time so its allot of shopping. We go out of town about an hour away to a super Wal Mart because our little market in town is to expensive and very limited on there choices. I sure need some fruit and veggies. Eating was pretty good yesterday. I made Bob's killer black bean soup and a salad.
Peggy- Howdy hope you're doing good.
Bob- Glad its Friday for ya and now you get to rest a bit. Do you have movies to watch? Think Solly is getting all the rain now. But it is still sprinkling here after a good rain last night. Dang I've never seen it rain so much. We've had a heck of a winter. Thanks for the idea about the pita bread pizza's I happen to have some in the freezer.
155- That lunch salad looked to die for. Yum I would love that. Your eating sounds so good. Keep up the good work.
Gym- I'm so glad your kitty is okay. I had when one of my pets get sick. Good luck on eating good.......
Ellen- Oh I have a weakness for cinnamon rolls. That makes you so proud when something turns out well. Have a great day today.
Well I'm going to finish up my coffee and get ready to shop.......

This is day 3 of the Cabbage Soup Diet for me. And I have been faithful, not one slip up. I also have not lost an ounce that I can tell!:mad:BUT my BS have greatly improved! They were running 240 fasting AM but now are 104-119 range.I am pleased witht that! And after all this cabbage I will be more than ready to start SugarBusters next week! In fact I am looking forward to it!:hun:We are headed to Gatlinburg TN this weekend with our GD Emily who is 3 1/2, so I may not post until next week. I am going to re-read the SB book and get my grocery list and myself together.:cheer2:

IT'S HAPPY HOUR!!! I'm not out drinking, but I'm sure that some where...some are!! http://bestsmileys.com/drinking/5.gif
Busy day today, but had to leave at 3:30 to take TIPPY to the VET...She has an ear infection that started rearing itself last night. He gave her two shots, some medrol and ear drops. She's asleep right here by me in her basket that I keep by the computer. http://bestsmileys.com/dogs/4.gif
JACKIE...It's less than a month until THE DERBY!!! I'm excited...they have never done a DERBY DRAW at work so I'm going to break them in. I assume you will be going to THE OAKS as always?
TONI...Did you make yourself a pizza? You can really doctor them up with veggies and such...they are so good. What's up for the weekend? I didn't get to watch my movies last week, so I'll be watching them before sending them back.
155....I love that saying...it fits so many people!

Evening! After water aerobics, which was good, but bad...I was sore....I showered, changed and went and met Tom for lunch. We went to a Chinese place and I got shrimp and broccoli. It was really good. I had egg drop soup and only had a few bites of rice. I came home and tried to get something done in the garagio, but it was rainy and the stuff is still not dry enough to pull handles on. I covered it up and mixed a few glaze tests instead. Dinner was scatterbrained. James and his friends were making frozen lasagna, and he had ordered pizzas for lunch, so Tom and I just ate what they had out.
I am really tired, so I think I will go crawl in bed. Sweet dreams everyone!

Ya'll must be busy today. ((Everybody)) Jess and I put in two more rows in the garden today. One more of the green beans and a row of scalloped squash. There are 4 more empty rows to fill in. I just was being lazy because it was so cool this morning. I did get in a wonderful walk this evening. My girl friend was on the cell phone talking to me so the time flew. Dinner was so delicious. I had some spaghetti squash with a little olive oil, onion, fresh tomato and a little Parmesan cheese. Yesterday I made a pot of 15 bean soup and ate like miss piggy. I'd get full wait until I had some room and ate some more. It was addicting. At least it was really low fat because I didn't season it with meat, just spices and salt.
I hope ya'll are having a GREAT weekend so far.
Love and hugs,

Good morning everyone,
I had such a busy day yesterday. I started my day with an 8 am bootcamp class, then I had to work, it was a birthday party at my fitness job. The I came home to quickly shower, and get ready for my usual Sat Job at Yankee candle. I finished the book I was reading at midnight and I passed out. I have never slept so good.
Im not sure if I want to take the 9 am kick boxing class. It would be 7 days with out a gym break. I feel great, and Im afraid if I don't go to the gym the day will be a waste. I can say I made it through4 full legal days now. I am on a roll. Today I am cooking a huge meal so I will have left overs for the week. Pork chops, fresh broc and green beans, spag squash, and apple sauce. I am very excited about this meal.
Crystal-I am going to use a your idea and season the spag squash. I hadn't thought of that more than butter. (the spray kind) Thanks. That soup sounds good, and very fibrus. How did you make it. I have been eating red and white kidney beans with stuff. Id love to try a soup. Do you mind posting the recipe?
Ellen-WOw shrimp and broc at a Chinese food place. Thats so good. We order take out from chinease and I get steamed chix or shrimp with the veg. Its not half bad but I also don't have to spell the whole place. Its the smells that cause me to want to be bad. I know the "just ate what they were eating feeling" Did you enjoy it at least? How are you feeling from the water aerobics?
BOB-I hope tippy is feeling better. What is with the animals these days. They sure do like to be costly. what type of animal is tippy?
Peggy-Im not sure what the cabbage soup diet it, but from the sounds of it it must be very "cleansing" Hehe. Sugar busters is a lot of well rounded so it's healthier, I can't wait to hear what you thing of the foods. It will be yummy after cabbage for 3 days. LOL
Toni-How'd grocery shopping go? I hate to go food is so $$$ But I always do so much better when I have good foods hanging around.
Solly, chris, thin and everyone else have a great day--I decided to go to kickboxing so Im off!! tt everyone later..:)

Morning! We had to go to a party at the pastor's house last night. I tried to help prepare stuff, since the party was for potential new members and I was there with my husband who is an elder. I ended up nibbling on the stuff they put out...ginger spring rolls, potstickers, etc. I ate too much and my blood sugar was horrible last night and this morning. I slept like poop, so I am feeling pretty lousy this morning.
GYM: I really did enjoy the shrimp and broccoli. I have a definite weakness for anything Asian...I love all the cuisines but most especially Chinese. They are healthier in the long run, if you steer clear of the battered and fried stuff. :)
COUNTRY: We still need to plant our garden. I got the seeds from Johnny's, and I can't wait! I bought eight ball zucchini this year...I hope it is good! And this year, I got a pickling cuke. We have SO many cucumbers every year, and I am about the only one who likes them. I made pickles with some last year, and they turned out really good. I figure this year, I will make pickles with a lot of them. I make the refrigerator kind, and they are SO easy! I probably should buy a second refrigerator to keep them in. :)
Ok, I am off to clean some in the kitchen, then I still have handles to pull. It has been so rainy here my stuff is not drying very fast. I have been trying to pull these handles for two days now!

Good morning. Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood...... LOL........ Well we survived our grocery shopping trip. Spending way to much and gripeing about the price of milk, eggs and coffee. But I did get alot of good healthy food. Last night we barbecued a pork tenderloin and had that with a baked in the coals sweet potato. Should have had a salad with it. But as always the week end is a struggle. Yesterday I didn't feel well so it was a lazy day for me. I hope I do some laundry and stuff today.
Solly- I hope you have sunny skies today. We're supposed to start having rain again on Monday I think.
Bob- Hope poor Tippy is doing better today. Jackson is tucked under the blanket with Steve in the recliner. He's been up and busy most the morning.
Ellen- I hope you're feeling better. And busy pulling handles. Try to take it easy today and maybe have a little nap.
Crystal- Oh boy the garden. You can't do anything here because we're still going to have frost. Boo hoo. Your food sounds good. I need to make some beans with my ham bone soon.
Gym- Wow you're busy. Don't you take a day off? Its time to sit down and have a nice smoothie....
Have a great Sunday. Think we'll probably barbecue burgers this evening.

Hello all,
Another great day of eating, it's amazing the wonderful meals you can have without any sugar.
Lunch
Spinach salad that was killer...
spinach, fresh mushrooms, bacon pieces, slice hard boiled egg, and a great peppercorn sugarfree dressing
Supper
Grilled porkchop & mushrooms, steamed aspargus, wild rice and some sugarfree jello.
Definitely feels more like a better lifestyle and not a diet.
Worked at my part-time job today (work full time as a graphic designer and part-time as a server in a pub) put on 5 miles according to my pedometer. $1000. in sales. I was smoking busy. Hope all this shows up on the scale tomorrow.
Had a light bulb moment at the grocery store yesterday.
Everywhere you look now the media is talking about how fat North Americans have become in the last few years. AND that's with eating all this "low-fat" food. You pick up any "low-fat" or "lite" product and the 2nd or third ingredient is sugar!!! If everyone is cutting out fat and ramping up on sugar why wouldn't we all be getting fatter? Has anyone else come to the same conclusion.
I had a heck of a time finding a salad dressing that didn't have sugar as it's second ingredient. Did manage to find so great ones by Renee that have omega 3 and no sugar, but it took a lot of looking.
Well, that's my piece for tonight. Hope everyone does great on their weight in tomorrow.
Cheers
Ellen

Morning! I am trying to decide on Water Aerobics. I slept very poorly and the bed looks awfully inviting!
155: I think the culprit in the obesity epidemic is high fructose corn syrup. It is in everything and is a frankenfood...so is not natural and just floods the system with hard to digest sugars. I will take good old table sugar over it any day and my blood sugars show it is worse than sugar!

Morning ladies,
Do we have a place we post our weight loss on Mondays?
I'm down 4.5 pounds this week! Yipeeeeeeee!
I agree Ellen all the frutose, glucose, corn syrup just to make up for the flavour lost from removing the fat is a killer.
Have a great day everybody.

Happy Monday Ladies!
It was simply beautiful here yesterday. Sunny, warm. We worked in the yard all day. Trimmed bushes, weeded the roses, etc. Tehn we went and got 160 retaining wall blocks for do our flower beds. Unloading them was good exercise.
This morning I got up at 5:00 and took Rudy for a 30 minute walk. It felt good. Will probably walk again tonight since it will be nice for 2 days. Then rain.
Monet, hope your stuff is dry today so you can work on it. I wish I like more chineese food. I only like the breaded sweet stuff. Go on to aerobics, you willbe glad you did. Take a nap when you get home.
155: Awesome loss. Keep up the good work.
Toni, your pork roast sounds good. I have my meals planned this week after our shopping trip yesterday.
Bob, Hope tippy is doing better today. How do you know a dog has an ear ache? We will probably go to the Oaks and Derby again. I could stay home myself. we will see now that we have Rudy, DH doesn't like to leave him that long. This Saturday is Thunder over Lou, so all the festivities will be starting. I think they are calling for rain. Bummer.
Chris, hope you can join us more often,
Gym, glad your cat is ok. 7 days at the gym is great.
Country, yourgarden will be great. I started to get some herb plants Saturday, but it is still cool here and we will probably have another frost or 2.
Peggy, I bet you are glad your cabbage soup diet is over. I would be. Hope you had a great time in gatlinberg.
Better get busy. One girl is out this week so I have to do payroll for her. Uck!
Have a great day.

Happy Monday Ladies,
I did well this weekend..YAY finally a whole weekend, today is 6 whole days. Thank goodness I really got back on track. Im excited to weigh in on Friday, hopefully I will show a loss. Today I had to skip the gym, my little one is sick and although she went to school I wasn't sure how long shed make it so I didn't want to chance being unavailable. It's ok I needed a rest anyway's I did 7 straight gym day last week.
Yesterday I was so proud of my self. I made a real dinner, and I had my best friend over. Im not big into cooking, and when I do I cut corners here and there. I baked pork chops in applesauce, and I added crushed almonds on top to make a lil crust. It was yummy and not dry like usual pork chops are. For dessert we has sugar free cheesecake pudding. The whole meal and day was legal, possible more fat and carbs than normal but still. I was happy. Have left overs to keep today and Wed's dinner legal. Life will be so much easier when sugar isn't always in my face via my sister. HA
155-Congrats on the weight loss. Everyone weighs in on different days so just post when you'd like. :) I am so happy your enjoying this WOE. Its good for tummy troubles as well. I agree with the sugar being in everything.
Ellen-Fight the bed and go to water aerobics you will feel so much better after, then If you need take a small snooze later on!!! Good luck!
Chris-Congrats on getting the weight ticker to work.. :)
Toni-That dinner sounds yummy. Nah--I don't slow down much..Today will be on the quiet cause the lil munchkin is sick so only one activity instead of 3, but I am working late tonight so guess I can't call that quiet. HA
Everyone else--Have an awesome day!!!
Oh Update on my cat--he stopped throwing up even bile, is driving my other cats crazy, and is back to eating lots again. PHEW. never though id be so happy about that. Haha. Thanks again for all the well wishes!!

Oh my gosh its beautiful out. Pretty soon I'll open the windows up and let some of this sunshine in. I'm so glad its Monday. The week ends are hard on me. Next week Steve will be going to Calif. for at least a week. Eating was mostly good but did some bad stuff to. We barbecued hamburgers last night. I should have had a salad with it but didn't. But they were on whole wheat buns with tomato and onions.
Ellen- I hope you're up and feeling alright. Sometimes it helps to just get some rest. I slept in this morning too.
Gym- I'm sorry your little one is sick and she gets to feeling better soon. Your pork chops sound so yummy. Sometimes I take a pork roast in the crockpot with applesauce and liptons onion soup. 7 days straight at the gym is allot. You need a day or two off.......
Solly- What allot of work you got done. I've got to get out back and clean my little garden spot off. Wish I had your energy. I know how that is about leaving your little dog home alone. I'm sure Rudy doesn't like it anymore than my Jackson.
155- Wow 4.5 lbs. is great. Congradulations...:congrat::cheer: You're doing wonderful...
Chris- You're not far from your goal. Oh how I wish!!!!!
Well off to finish my coffee. Have a great day....

MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!
It's beautiful here today. We've had storms every evening for the last week, and last night was no different. I mean downpours. We need the rain so I won't complain.
We're going to get our hair cut this afternoon, but that's the end of our "about town" escapades.
TIPPY is a whole lot better. Her little ear is still hurting though. When I put her drops in last night, just the smallest touch hurt her.
JACKIE...A furkid will start slinging their ears and you can tell which side by the way they hold their head. TIPPY's came up very suddenly without any warning, but the infection has been building evidently. What kind of ears does RUDY have? Dogs with floppy ears tend to have more ear problems. TIPPY's stand straight up all the time so air gets to her ears constantly. I can't figure out this lastest sickness unless it's allergy related.
I haven't even looked at the HORSES for the DERBY yet. Usually I follow the major races, but not this year. The only one I've even read about is PYRO and I don't know anything about him. I can't believe it's DERBY time already!
GYM....TIPPY is a CHIHUAHUA...she's not your average one though...she doesn't yip, snap or anything a normal one does. How's KITTY today?
ELLEN...Hope you're recovering from your terrible sleep. I slep wrong and have a pinch in my back today. How's the MUNCHKIN??? Any new pictures of him?
TONI...Hope you're drying out. The rains seems to have subsided over your way.
CHRIS....
150....I fixed boneless chicken breast on the grill last night. Had fresh collard greens, fresh corn on the cob and fresh coleslaw....I'm back on track and gung ho to keep myself there.
I'm off to get something done...I've got to change the beds and then it will be time to go get our hair cut.

Good morning, slept like poop last night,or should I say didn't sleep. I don't think I got an hour's worth of sleep at all. So I am dragging and I didn't get up to walk as I just fell asleep about 4:30 until 5:00. We did walk about 45 minutes last night. DH is working on our flower beds and I watched. ha-ha.
Monet, maybe it's just not a good day to throw anything. Take a day off. Glad you got some rest, I guess you needed it. I will tonight.
Toni, we have been taking Rudy on some short rides so now everytime you pick up your keys he thinks he can go along. But in the car, he shakes the whole time. I think he is afraid he is going to the vet or to get a haircut. That's my dinner for tonight, burgers. It is supposed to rain the rest of the week so I want to be outside to enjoy the sunshine while I can.
Determined, put the weekend behind you, I do every Monday. Glad to have you back.
Country, working in your garden today?
Off to work on payroll, be glad when this is all over. Have a great day.
Bob, How is Tippy today? Rudy has floppy ears. He sneezes his head off and scratches. DH gives him half a Benydrl sometimes.
Gym, hope your little one is ok. I think you can afford a day off fromt he gym. Glad you had such a legal weekend. Rub off on me will ya?

Morning! I just woke up. I had a slightly restless night- I only woke up twice. Tom let me sleep.
I ended up throwing seven plates yesterday. That is not too bad, though I should have been able to throw a lot more. Plates are not my favorite thing to throw, so I think I will try and do the same size and style and just throw a few at a time, then I will have them to glaze the same for sets.
I did fairly well with my eating yesterday. I think I need to assess the food on hand and make menus. Anything to help me be more organized...

Good morning everyone. I'm up and having coffee and a bran muffin I made yesterday. I'm having trouble eating in the morning so I made a batch of these. I froze a bunch so they'll stay fresh. Eating was pretty good yesterday. Dinner was a taco salad. It was so nice to enjoy the good weather but today they're calling for rain. And of course I have to go out today. LOL I'm having lunch with my friend that won the 20,000 on the scratch off ticket last week. Shes buying!!!!
Bob- I guess you're back at work today. Your barbecued chicken breasts sound great. I just love about anything that comes off the barbecue. Hope Tippy is still doing better. And that you got lots of rest this week end.
Michele- glad you're back on eating right. The week ends are the worst.
Solly- sorry you didn't get any sleep last night. I just hate those times and I have lots of them. Those nice days were great weren't they. Wish I could Steve out to work in the flower bed.... Jackson gets on the floorboard under my feet and sleeps pretty good in the truck. If not he's a pain in the butt.
Monet- Sounds like you did pretty decent in the plate dept. Is it relaxing to work on stuff? I love the burgundy glaze.
Well off to finish my coffee and get ready to go out with my friend. Have a good day....

Hi there! I'm just beginning my journey on SB and believe I am going to need some support. I'm still reading the book and trying to figure out what I can keep in my pantry and what I can't. I was wondering about Splenda. I use that regularly but noticed that maltodextrin is in the ingredient list. :( Does anyone else use Splenda or do you all use a different sweetner?

Happy Tuesday all,
Question?
I know eating cottage cheese with pineapple is a no-no because of the high GI in pineapple. Anyone know about eating strawberries and cottage cheese? Nice change for lunch but not sure where it falls in the insulin release...
Anyone?

BOB,
grilled chicken on the barbie, sounds wonderful.
I have to do my grilling on a george foreman, scared to light a BBQ.
Long time ago when I worked as a well tester (oil rigs) I was burnt by a flame from the flare pit that shot back down the line. That was 30 years ago and I still can't stand that little "poof" sound that happens when the fire ignites.
Crazy the things that change you. :-)

Welcome TNT,
I just recently joined this group and they have been wonderful. You'll like it here. Once you get what you need in your pantry, it's so nice to just go in grab some items and make a meal without counting calories, or points, or carbs, etc.
It's very freeing.

Sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days. My goofy tooth is rotten down to the nerve so I've been a little down with the pain. I did get in a walk yesterday though. Oh and that great weight loss I thought I had last week...NOT..the scales were messed up..LOL I'm right about 172. Oh well, when I thought it was lower I was walking a little prouder for a couple of days. Isn't that silly, but it made me feel smaller.
Congratulations to this week's loser's!! And congratulations to those who keep on trying...((hugzz))
Welcome TNT!!!!! I use splenda. The packets are not the same as the one that measures like sugar. I prefer the packets.

Hey Everyone,
Long busy couple of days.
I had a greek salad for dinner, the best 7 bucks I have spent all week. HAHA I also made my own cheese cake and chocolate puddings and added raspberries and made little single serving cups. Would be great cept I ate 2 after I made them.. LOL Oh well could always be worse. I need to brush, shower and hop into bed. I have 20 pages left to finish the book I am reading.
I'll have more time tomorrow to do replys..But crystal..when i had been 173 for the 2 days I walked very porud as well..no worries the weight will go away.
And I am another avid splends used here as well, although when I have it I do try to use stevia.
Have a great night everyone!

Good morning my SB buddies!!
I have been so busy these past couple of days I haven't had time to post. Congratulations to all who lost-way to go:bravo: To all those who didn't see that scale go down, just hang in there, it will!
I'm so happy Spring is right around the corner weather wise. It's supposed to hit 60 today. I plan to have Parker outside for most of the day "helping" me in the garden. He loves rakes, wheelbarrows, and picking up rocks. He should be in his glory today. I tried to post some pictures of him, but for some reason my camera wasn't cooperating. I'll have to try again. I also wanted to put up a picture of me and my girls, from Krista's 20th BD dinner but no luck.
gym-congratulations with getting on track again. And btw, you can cook for me anytime!
countrymom-sorry to hear that tooth is still bothering you. Ignore the scale, it's evil!
155at50-:welcome3: I eat cottage cheese and strawberries all the time.
tnt-:welcome3: I use Equal.
toni-enjoy this nice weather while it lasts, God knows you deserve it! I'm going to make some bran muffins today too. It's a good switch from the same old same old.
peggy-congrats on the weight loss, and being finished with the cabbage soup! I couldn't wait to get all my posts in to get a tracker too.
ellen-sorry your throwing didn't go too well. I actually like pieces that are a little off. They have character.
solly-enjoy your day of sunshine. My older dog loves to go for rides in the car too. He hops right into the passengers seat and feels like a king!
dtrmnd-glad to see you got right back on track. How were the comics?
bob-glad to hear Tippy is getting better. I have a 2 dogs with floppy ears. They do have more ear problems than dogs whose ears stand up. Enjoy the haircut.
To anyone else I missed, have a happy Hump Day:dancer:
I have loads to do today, and I have to grocery shop as well. Yippee.
Crystal-ouch I hope your planning to have that tooth removed. Teeth drive me nuts, I owe my dentist more than id care to admit because of all the fillings I keep needing to have. Good luck.
155-As far as cottage cheese and strawberries. Get plain cottage cheese and mix in the strawberries. I am almost sure the pre packaged kind has sugar. What I do is buy frozen berries and let them defrost in either yogurt or cottage cheese so its sweeter.
TNT-Welcome. You will love it here, always some one to chat with and lots of advice and support. Don't get discouraged the first week feels very over whelming sometimes. I love my sugar busters shopping guide as a quick reference and to bring to the grocery store. You may want to pick it up. Good luck!!
Peggy-Everyone and then I notice that I "post" but it doesn't show up. Usually refreshing the page quickly helps that. I had one big post disappear, so I have been pretty good about copying the post before I actually post so It doesn't get lost just in case. Sorry that happened.
Toni-Nice, always fun when friend treats. Hope you enjoyed it! bran muffins sound good, howd ya make them? I never have "trouble" eating an any point. LOL I wish I did.
Monet-nice job with the plates. I agree being organized is the key to everything successful.
Solly-I hate sleepless nights. I have to say I have been lucky lately, but that could change at any moment. Hope last night's rest was better! It ended up being 2 days off from the gym. Although she wasn't feeling horrible The gym daycare doesn't allow sick kids, plus she needed another day of rest. I did a few crunches and a 2 min sprint. HAHA *RUBBING GOOD EATING THOUGHTS OFF ON YOU* HAha Good luck!
Michele-I hear ya about eating way of plan while being out. I almost wish I never had to eat out because then life with food would be easy. Just get right back today.
BOB_wow tippy sounds like a great dog to have. I have to admit those small dogs are cute but the barking drives me crazy. My friend had one. Tigger is doing better. The vet called to follow up which I thought was nice.
Ok Off to do a quick load of laundry and head off to teach 2 classes. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. Can't believe its already Wednesday. The week is flying. Not much to report here. My lunch with a friend went well. I ate off the food buffet and had salad, pork chop, green beans and I know some corn. Wasn't great but could have been worse. We had chicken enchiladas last night. Its supposed to rain today I think so its cloudy and gray outside.
155- Strawberries are just fine. Its just pineapple, watermellon and banana unless they are green tipped. I've got some strawberries in the fridge and think I'll cut them up tonight with some cool whip.
Crystal- Ouch nothing worse than a toothache. I'm hurting for you.
Gym- I'll post my recipe for the bran muffins in a bit. I would love to try a greek salad. I've never had one. Hope you have a good day.
Chris- Glad you're doing well, working outside sounds so nice. I'm ready for nice weather after a long winter. Sorry I can't help you with the tracker. I'm not good with that thing.
Have a happy day....

Happy Wednesday,
Had a meeting last night and managed to drink only a glass of water and steer away from the platter of sandwiches and all the sugar laden drinks. Went home and had chicken, asparagus and some wild rice. It sure makes a difference when you only have good food in the house. Use to come home starving and fill my face with a bunch of junk WHILE I WAS MAKING SUPPER! :-)
Have a great day everyone and thanks for being there. Nice to ask a question and get an answer. I'm so glad cottage cheese and strawberries are okay. Great combo for a change.
At work so better get back at it. Check in later.

Just popping in and saying HELLO to everyone!
I've been super busy, but I've been doing pretty well with my eating... I'm down 4 more pounds! :carrot:
So now I only have 2 pounds to go to get UNDER the 200 mark!!!
Hope everyone is doing well... I'll try and get on later to post more, but good gravy it's been horribly busy around here and the internet has been on the fritz so it's hit and miss!
I miss you guys... I really need some MOTIVATION!

Happy Wednesday! It is nice to see this board is growing! This is exactly what I was hoping to find when I started searching SB support! You will love it here TNT. You mentioned Splenda, that is what I use in my morning coffee. I only use 1/2 packet in each cup b/c I read how the sweetners are so much sweeter than sugar and you know I like it a LOT better! This dummy had to have that pointed out to her! :dizzy: Sheesh!
Chris~~~Not sure how long you have been on the boards ( I am new) but when I tried to do the weight loss ticker it told me I had to post 25 times before I could use it. I think this is about my 10th post.
Crystal~~Hope your toothache :sp:eases up for you. When it is really bad try this...hold an ice cube in each hand until you just can't hold it anymore...you will find the toothache has eased off considerably! A member of the Indian Clan that "adopted" and gave me my Indian name taught me this! Should bring you almost instant relief for a spell.
Gym~~Thanks for the hint on posting!
155~~My BBQ grill has an automatic ignitor and you light it with the lid down, maybe that would help you? There is still a poof but not nearly as loud or strong. My nephew is a fireman and I have seen training video's of grills exploding and it is scary :flame:and I have never had the experience you had.
I am so glad everyone's pets are doing better! Big dog and cat lover here!
It is beautiful here today, going to 80! I have all the windows open and I love that cool breeze coming through. I can also hear the crows, the geese as they fly over and see my azealeas in full bloom! Oh YES!!!! And the hummingbirds at the feeders! :flow1:First one arrived yesterday and I flew in the house and filled the feeders! Can't remember when I moved that fast! He It must have been a returnee from last year b/c it flew right to where the feeder hung last year!
One last thing before I post~~~Well TWO actually! I ate FISH last night and it was very good! I pan seared the Mai Mai filets, put them in a glass pan, sprinkled some orange peel, sea salt, light black pepper and garlic powder, sliced a lime and covered the fish with them, baked it at 350 for 20 mins and on man,,,they were good! LOL, don't remind me I hate fish! Now...for the best thing of all in this post....I weighed this morning and I put the scale on the bathroom floor instead of the carpeted floor where it stays...I have lost 9 1/2 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!! since April first! :cp::bravo: I even went upstairs and weighed on the scale there to make sure the downstair scale was right and I really did it! Makes me think the Cabbage soup was the kick off diet I needed! I hope all of you are having a great day! ~Peggy

I'm taking a break from chores and tought I'd pop in and saw howdy. Thanks for the nice notes about my goofy tooth. It woke me in the middle of the night but is doing much better righ now. It comes out on the 21st. I wish I could say it's the frist tooth I've lost but it isn't.
Peggy...awesome on the weight loss!! Isn't it great when we find something we think we hate to not be that bad? For me it was green peas....the ones in the can gag me I've always tried to like them and it wasn't happening. Last year I tried the frozen kind that are barely defrosted and they are SO much better. :)
Beth...hey you..woo hoo you'll be under 200 before you know it.
155...have you ever tried cottage cheese and tomato? I just LOVE it. GREAT job staying away from the sandwiches and drinks. You are so right about having the right foods in the house. The first four years when I was the only one eating this way in the house all their goodies were major temptations. Now that the whole family is basically eating this way it is so much easier to grab the right thing.
Gym...how many kiddos do you have? We raised five but only two are still here at the house. I have one grand baby who will be 3 in Oct. she is a hoot. I forgot to tell you about the bean soup the other day. I just used the seasoning that came in the bag of beans and added some onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
Chris....there were two codes when I made my ticker. I don't remember which code to use but if the one didn't work for you then try the other. Just paste it right in the signature box. Other than that I'm not sure. Sorry I'm not more help.
Toni...((hugzz)) You barely got sunshine before the clouds came back..that isn't fair. :) Is that typical for this time of year? We are suppose to get rain tomorrow. I sure hope so.
Bob...Monet...Solly...Tech...I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody...((Everybody)) I hope you are having a SUPER day.
God bless,
Crystle

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA today... I went to water aerobics, and was running late. When I got home I changed, and rushed out to take my VERY pregnant friend to lunch. We went to the incredible farmer's market near her house then I came home. The internet was down most of the day and my son finally figured out how to get it to work just before dinner. We ate too late, and had Tonkatsu, salad with ginger dressing and rice. I skipped the rice since the Tonkatsu is breaded ( I used whole wheat panku bread crumbs...).
I am really tired tonight, so I am going to go crawl in bed.

Going to be a real test today! We have a going away get-together for a co-worker at 11, a lunch meeting at 12:30, a long-term service award presentation to our boss at 3. There will be loooooooooots of food at all of these. Then I work at the pub tonight and it's fish and chip night. Not feeling too worried now, haven't even craved sweets since I started but let's see what happens when they're right there in front of me.
Wish me luck. :-)

Good afternoon ladies.
I've been very busy, thinking I was taking off Friday, but that has changed. we are expecting some very bad weather tonight and tomorrow so we were going to wait and see, but DH says he is to busy at work so let's forget it. We were going to the race track in Lexington for the day with my sister and some friends. Oh well, Derby will be here soon and we will have lots of horse racing.
I'm happy to report the scale is moving down, slowly, but down. Hope it has inspired me to have a legal weekend and keep it going down.
Toni, hear you are expecting some tornadic weather today and sending it my way. Be safe. Funny, we are having taco salad tonight. I made the meat with seasoning, will put it on a bed of lettuce, top with tomatoes, jalepenos, cheese, and sour cream (not for me) and enjoy. I am looking forward to it.
Monet, how did those handles come out?
TNT; :welcome: This is a great group. Ask away, someone will be able to help.
Country, hope that tooth is better. That is a long time to have to suffer with a toothache.
Chris, Think positve today and pass on those goodies. Hope you made it.
Peggy, we had baked fish (cod) on the grill last night too. It was delish.
155, Good job passiing up the goodies.
Beth, good to see your post. Congrats on the 2 lbs.
Gym, thanks for the good eating thoughts. I hope they continue to work.
Bob, How is Tippy doing?
Better get busy. Have a great day and evening.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!
I'm kinda running through the forum today. Like Jackie, I've been busy and it doesn't let up when I come home.
TIPPY is better and almost back to normal. She's still taking her medicine and I'm still putting drops in her ears, and will continue to do so until it's all gone. This was a bad one and I just can't understand why she didn't show any signs prior to when she did.
I'm fixing fish for supper, and I've got to get started on that. I bought FRESH COD the other day for $6.99 lb !!!! I bought about 3lbs and it's in the freezer. Usually sells for $14.99 lb....
I'll check with y'all later.....

Hi everybody. Just a quick check in between kids going off to school. So, I decided to change my hours at the shop to 10-3 with after school hours by appointment. I spend so much of my time just sitting there, especially after school when the kids want to be home prowling the neighborhood playing outside...I'm telling my customers to just give me a call during the day if they're planning on coming in and I'll stay, it's just that I hate sitting there if nobody's coming in, just watching Ellen and Dr. Phil after a long day of watching court tv shows. I've been loving it! Yesterday I got my front yard raked and Kyle brought the big limbs from the back yard. We FINALLY got the giant glacier in our front yard melted. Everything's brown and packed, but little sprigs of green are starting to show through. I don't know the total snowfall for the year, but we had MASSIVE amounts of snowfall this winter. The bank along the road in front of our house was, easily, up to my chest at his highest point. I didn't think it would ever melt.
Anyway...Derek is OFFICIALLY working again, this time for Rite Aid. So nice to have him working for a giant company again, instead of the lazy Australians he was working for. Derek's been gone all week to Maine...Madawaska Maine. Mapquest it...it's on the northernmost tip of the state. Thing is that he would have cut his travel time in half if he could go through Canada, but he can't find his birth certificate and you need both that and your driver's license to travel by land in and out of Canada. So we have to get him a replacement. Anyhow...it was a 16 hour drive for him to get there, but at least he's working again.
With him gone, now I can clean my house. I did a total re-vamp on my front porch on Tuesday. It was so embarassingly cluttered and when the cat barfed on the carpet, I said, 'That's it!!' It looks so nice now and I'm no longer embarassed to have anyone come to my front door.
I do miss Derek home, though. Although it is nice regaining control of the remote!
Anyhow...things are feeling a little more normal around here, which is nice. Derek started his job with exactly one more week of overtime left available to him. Talk about cutting it close!! The Good Lord does provide!! Just like I knew he would.
Talk to you guys later!!

If I could get to my last goal, of 165 before my 26th Birthday id be so Happy. It's not until June so it's so dooable.

Hello all. We were out enjoying the beautiful weather yesterday so I didn't get online to post. The weather has been fabulous here for the past week however there are storms coming today and then a cold front...at least they took the snow out of the forcast. I hope it doesn't freeze my blueberry plants.
Gym- congrats on the wt. loss!!
Tech- glad the new hours are working out for you. It's nice to be able to send the kids outside after a long day at school.
155- Way to go on passing up the sugar! I would like to think that I could be that strong but I didn't do that well yesterday. Last night I got so hungry and just ate what I could find in the kitchen. Needless to say most of it wasn't legal stuff. I am determined to do better today. I'm excited for you and your success!
BOB- That cod sounds wonderful! You can't beat fresh fish..especially on sale! :D
Solly- Stay safe in the bad weather. Thanks for the warm welcome. It's nice to have a support group!
Ellen- I am about 1.5-2 hours northeast of ATL in the beautiful Blue Ridge mtns. I go down to "the big city" about once a month for dr. appointments or to shop.
CountryMom- Glad to hear your tooth will be out soon. That's the worst pain ever imho. When your mouth hurts your whole body hurts.
Peggy- Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm excited about the support.
Beth- Congrats on the wt loss. I too am getting close to being under 200. It's such a huge milestone and motivator. Good luck!
Wow this has become a long post...I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Happy Healthy Eating!!:dizzy:

Morning! Today I must unload the kiln, glaze and reload. But that is going to wait until after I do a belly cast of my very pregnant friend! Ought to be pretty fun. She is HUGE!
I did not make it to water aerobics today. Just out of it, I guess. Did not even think about it until it was too late.
TNT: Lucky you living in the mountains! My daughter lives near Oakwood, just south of Gainesville, and I have a friend in Clarkesville just off 985/365 above Cornelia. I love the area she is in, but I just can't convince my husband to move up there. He loves to go camping along the Appalachian trail, Blood Mountain, Lake Winfield Scott...Are your dogwoods and azaleas blooming? Ours are in full swing...and gorgeous!
TECH: That is great that Derek started before the monies ran out! When you finish cleaning out your house, come on down! :s: Mine is a mess! Good idea on the shop hours too. I hope it picks back up some for you. I hope you will be in here a bit more now...we miss you, ya know.

Well, I don't think I'll ever clean the WHOLE house...I was most disgusted with the front porch as that's the first impression people have of my house...and if I have my way, the ONLY impression. I hate having people at my house unless they are a very good friend that won't judge me by how cluttered it is. BTW...when did you change your name?

Well it's Friday and am I ever so happy for that. I've had an exhausting week and plan on doing just a little tidying up and then reading a good book. No luck so far with the job applications I sent in,but I continue to look online everyday. One bright spot is that my older daughter who lives in Manhattan just started a great job working for a high end plastic surgeon and she is selling his lotions and potions (as I call them) at Saks 5th Avenue. It's just a part time job because she is a full time student at FIT, but he pays her $20.00 an hour plus 5% commission on everything she sells, and believe me when I tell you the cheapest thing he sells is over $100.00! She sold $1,100 worth of product the other day. Go Krista:cp: It's sad when your child is pulling in more money that you!! On the plus side, now I only have to come up with $700.00 towards her rent, she picks up the rest.
Congratulations to everyone that lost this week. I'm down half a pound. Scale reads 174.5. Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I'll check in again on Monday.:)
TGIF.
I'm sure glad it's Friday. I hate doing someone else's job, especiallyw hen it invovles other peoples money. Someone shorted a guy so I have to do a check for him and hopefully that's it.
We did not get the bad storms as they predicted, what else is new. It is raining now. At least with it raining I am not feeling bad about not going to the track and working.
Tomorrrow we have to put our bricks in around our shrubs and roses and get mulch and cut the grass. It will be cool here, around 50, so back to sweatshirts. I have to get my hair done inthe morning. I sure wish I could find a cut I really like. I took Rudy on a walk to Dress Barn and the Dollar store last night so I could pay my bill. Everyone was making over him. Of course half way there he freezes and won't go any further. I don't think he is tired, just wants to go another way. He is so stubborn. So I carried him for a bit and then he made it the rest of the day.
Bob, Cod runs about $6.99 to $7.99/lb here. It was $5.99 this week and I got some that was already packaged for a lot less. It was really good. Have a great weekend.
Monet, (will always be Monet to me), This is funny about your cast for your friend. What a good sport. Our azaleas ar blooming and my peach tree is simply beautiful.
Gym, You will develop a schedule once you are on your own. It is hard to get to the gym after a few days off. Sore all over again.
155, You go Girl! :cheer:  I am so proud of you. Keep on going now.
Tech, I am so happy Derreck likes his job. That is a long drive. Hope you get that birth certificate soon. Will he come home on weekends? Good idea changing your hours. You can always stay later if you need to. And now you can come here more often.
TNT, today is a new day and a new start. You can do this, get some things legal in your fridge so you won't be tempted. Get rid of the bad stuff.
Chris, maybe you could get a job with your DD. That sounds pretty good. Hope something turns up soon. Congrats on your loss. Anything is a good loss.
Got to get busy. It is pouring rain. Yeah!. Have a great weekend.

Just a fly by. My pregnant friend left a few minutes ago. Her belly cast is drying on the floor of my bedroom behind me with a fan blowing on it. Turned out pretty good! I had forgotten how messy that plaster casting strip stuff is, so we made quite a mess! :)
I went to get Kaeleb up this morning and found him butt nekkid! He loves pulling his diaper off. Good thing I checked him as soon as he started making noises. I took him into his parents room and his mom looked rather shocked. They may need to safety pin him into his clothing.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! I plan to glaze, fire and clean the garagio this weekend.

I have to put a harness on her to make her walk. She pull her head right out of a collar and heads back home.
I like the way you wear your hair...what did you decide to do at the beauty shop?

BOB: I did the cast for a friend who is expecting in a week or so. She wanted to do it because she seriously carries that baby perfectly for it. Her belly is huge! It is a popular thing to do for these young hippie type moms. She is going to paint it and hang it up on the wall...I hope in her bedroom because it shows details...:) It really turned out neat. I wish I had done one when I was pregnant.

Good Morning Everyone,
It is pouring here. I woke up all congesterd and yucky. It was eminent that I end up sick seeing as my lil one has been coughing all week and On the days I work she is always with me. Yesterday her dad was home for part of the day sick as well. I was bound to get sick yet again.
I don't have to work until 11 today, so I opted out of the early morning class @ the gym to just have part of a morning to drink hot coffee and relax. I have been so busy, I made a big pot of coffee one day and put it in the fridge and have been drinking ice coffee because it was quicker. TIme to chill out for an hour or so. I am only working at Yankee until 2 then I don't have to babysit until 630. If I really want to I can go to the gym later. (Doubtful, but I could) HAHA
YAY My sister comes home tomorrow.
Monet-I love those belly casts, they are great. My friend and I did one for her sister when she was prego. Sadly it just sat in her attick. And Haha I have walked in on missing diapers but a lot worse--so good thing it wasn't a "full" diaper. :)
BOB-Enjoy your weekend movies & that damn laundry. Mine seems to never end and I am one freaking person. HA Not much up with me this weekend..Working & babysitting today then I have all of tomorrow off. I'm excited. And My sister comes home tomorrow so that will be nice!
Peggy-Have a great weekend. Congrats on the 9 pounds weight loss. You go girl!! Keep it up!
Solly-Your not kidding. I went yesterday and although this class isn't "hard" she makes you use a lot of your own body weight as resistance and I never feel it--today I am. I guess your right about adjusting. My sister travels a lot but as soon as I get myself adjusted to her not being here she's back. It will be a challenge this summer but im sure i'll be fine.
155-Awesome job making it through the day with out sugar. Those are the tough things for me--social settings. I sometimes feel like I have to treat sugar like an alacholic would alachol. So like an alcoholic going into a bar, I do sometimes think If only I could just have one...I know I can't. Staying away all together proves much more effective.
Kris-Good luck with the new hours. I hope they help. Plus with the nice weather people will be taking off their hats and realizing how over grown their hair is so it should be busy. Plenty of business in no time. :) Congrats to Derek on the new Job!!
Angela-Thanks, and I am glad someone is having nice weather. We had one nice day and since it has been cold rainy and dreary. YUCKY!
Chris-Congrats on the weight loss. We are just about the same weight. And Rock on to your daughter, wow if I could get a job like that maybe I wouldn't have to work so many. That's amazing Kudos to her!!! Your welcome to my house anytime for dinner. hehe Its been lonely cooking for myself.
Toni-Greek salads are YUMMY. it's really just the feta cheese that makes it for me, since I take the onions and olives off. I never have dressing with salad, so I can't even say Greek dressing Is yummy, I wouldn't know. I buy the pre made ones at market basket. LOL Im so lazy sometimes!
Beth-You are almost there--YOU CAN DO IT YOU CAN DO IT..**Sending good happy motivational thoughts to you*** Yay congrats on the 4 pounds lost. That's amazing!!
Crystal-Well They are the munchkin's I nanny for. I don't actually have my own kids. Next week will make 7 years being their nanny so I feel like a second mom. I always call them mine. haha There are 2 of them. Ages 5 1/2 and soon to be 9 Girl and boy respectively. I saw the soup mix at the grocery store, it seemed easy enough, but I passed this time. Thanks..:) And I have lost 3 teeth thanks to never having had perminte in those spots. baby teeth don't last so I had them pulled when they busted or infected. its the worst. and so $$$. Again best of luck!!
Woah this was long. I think I got to everyone..I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I hope everyone has a great weekend!! *Good OP eating thoughts to everyone!!*

I have been one busy camper this week. Yesterday we did get a chance to get in some dollar store shopping. We hit the jackpot. They had strawberries, spinach, romaine hearts, organic grape tomatos, three kinds of bell peppers, eggplant, bananas, radishes, cauliflower, brocolli, and other kinds of fruits and veggies. They rarely have all that at one time. I went nuts so the fridge is full of healhty choices. I think one of my best bargains was the healthy ones lunch meats. The kiddos tried to talk me into getting chips but I told them they had way to many other options. I did get them some bbq pork rinds though.
Most of the garden is starting to come up. I really need to get out there and get the last of it planted. It is quite cool this weekend so I may wait until next week.
((Everybody)) I hope ya'll are having a GREAT weekend.
Love,
Crystle

Hey, everyone. I cleaned in the garagio today and set up my new wheel. It is not as good as I had hoped, but I was able to throw some porcelain on it.
Other than that, it was a lazy day. I did a little grocery shopping and fixed beef stroganoff with ww noodles for dinner.
GYM: Once, I did walk in on quite a mess...no diaper on, and poo everywhere! I quietly closed the door and went and woke up his parents. They were NOT happy! He is really bad about trying to strip. They may have to safety pin him into his clothes.
COUNTRY: Tom worked on preparing the garden today. We are supposed to have really cold weather for a few days, then we will start planting. Can't wait! I got two kinds of basil, eight ball zucchini, round pole beans, and pickling cukes. Tom will go buy the varieties of tomatoes he likes. I decided not to plant yellow squash since no one really likes it here. :)

Monday..Blah!!!
So ny weekend was so/so. I woke up wheexing on Sat and have been caughing since. Just what I need. After 2 weeks of no sugar, I had a social gathering on Sat that I hadn't planned for so needless to say..I had sugar. I had 1.2 slick cheese cake and a few bites of choc cake. Then I had a sm dish of choc ice cream..then that night I had cookies and pop tarts. HA Yesterday was better, but not perfect.
I also skipped the gym this weekend cause I didn't feel good. I am attempting it today but I am not sure how it will go. Should be interesting.
Have a great day everyone!!

Morning! I am going to suit up and head out to water aerobics in a few. The weather has taken a turn colder, and I wish it would get on with spring already...
My eating was pretty good over the weekend, but alas, my bg was bad again this morning after a few days of good readings. I need to make an appointment with my doctor, but keep dragging my feet on that.
I hope this is a great week for everyone! :)

Good morning ladies,
It was a nasty weekend here. Saturday was cold and yesterday was cold and rainy. We spent most of it in front of the tv watching the masters. I felt yucky all weekend. I cut the grass for DH so he could work on on bricks, never again. It about killed my back and I wore a back brace too. I think that is why I felt so bad.
Bob, we havea new flat screen HD TV and boy the Masters was breath takingly beautiful. I enjoy watching golf. Wish I could play. Will definately say a prayer for Sef. I hate to hear that but hope she gets some relief.
Monet, I think you were smart just shutting the door and getting your DD. I wouldn't want to clean up that mess either. Funy that he likes to strip. we need some updated pics.
Gym, hope you are feeling better. You just got all well and now again. Get some rest.
Country, wow you hit the jackpot. I didn't know the dollar store carried that kind of stuff. Good job making your kids pass on the chips.
Toni, where are you?
Everyone else,
Got to get busy. Have a great day.

Morning,
Spent the weekend visiting a friend and ended up coming home with a sore throat. Crap! I just took on another job in the evenings I can't afford to get sick.
Drank maybe a little too much scotch on the weekend as well. Only show 1.5 pound loss this week. But guess it's better then going up. Did great on the food on the weekend just that darn scotch!!!
Gym, hope you feel better, this on again off again cold and flu sure gets tiring.
Country, that shopping trip sounds wonderful, I would have gone crazy there with all that good stuff.
Ellen, happy water wings :-)
Wish I could find a bathing cap that I could fit all my hair in. I have waist long hair and it's hard to find one big enough. Love water areobics.
Solly, hope your back feels better today. Sounds like you need more time in front of the flat screen. :-)
Have a great day everyone.
Cheers

Sorry I've been MIA. Just had one of those blah weeks and didn't feel like posting. I gained 1 lb. The week end was just so so. Its been cold here and we even had sleet yesterday. I've got to go with a friend this evening to take Steve to the airport. Its a 3 hour drive up and back. I'm not looking forward to being in the car that long. But he has to go to Calif. to take care of his Mother's stuff. He should be gone about a week. Not much going on here. Got to go finish with the packing. Have a good day.

Back from water aerobics... Justin hurt his back, so I took care of Kaeleb so he could rest when I got back. James helped. Kaeleb LOVES James, so it helps. I am very sleepy...and I think I will take a nap. I really want to glaze and fire today, but it is getting late so I may not make it.
It has turned chilly here too, but after I think tonight, it is going up to about 75, and pretty much staying there. Yay!
I weighed this morning and I was down a pound. Now to keep it going down! :)

Welcome Bev,
I'm a newbie here myself but the folks here have been very helpful and very welcoming.
Sad but true corn is a no-no! One of my favorites also. :-(
I hope you enjoy sugar busters!
Once I got only the good foods in the house it sure made it easy to stay on track. I can open the fridge, freezer or any cupboard and know what I putting together for a meal is good for me. Sure beats counting calories or WW points.
My treat to myself is one piece of 80% dark chocolate and so far that's all I've needed as a sweet.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday and the sun shines on your Tuesday.

Good morning ladies,
It was 32 here this morning. We covered up all the flowers and azaleas. I think they are ok. We got in a 2 mile walk last night. I amstarting to think my back thing is maybe a kidney infection. I need to go check on the web for symptoms of one. It is a different hurt than my usual back ache. Who knows.
Toni, glad to see you posting. When you feel blah, what better place to come so we can perk you up. You should have gone with Steve. It would make for a nice trip. Hope you aren't too lonely this week. We will keep you company.
155, gargle with salt water, It really helps. Hope you feel better today.
Peggy, hang in there if there is no reason, it will go down. Could be hormones.
Monet, Congrats on the pound loss. I wish I could get a pound.
NuBev, :welcome: This is a great group and will give you lots of support and friendship. Ask any questions you may have. Sorry about the corn. I miss it too. Plan ahead is my biggest advice and be prepared always. I used to always take my bread with me places. At least you would have a legal bread and you can put almost anything on it to make it totattly legal.
Going to get started here on my gold tournment stuff. I have let it slip. Looking for a place to rent in destin, florida if anyone knows of any places. Have a great day

Morning All,
Thanks for the tip Solly, I tried it this morning and it does ease the feeling of raw sandpaper in your throat. Thank heavens Ricola cough drops have no sugar in them. They sooth about the best.
Solly, I see you've lost 70 lbs. that's awesome. I'm curious, I have a lot to lose and I've had it for a long time, is it true what I hear about hanging skin or can it snap back into place. Pleeeeeeeease tell me it can. :-)
I couldn't believe I was only down 1.5 pounds so I weigh again this morning. Yipeeeeeeee... I was down another 2. So 3.5 for last week. I might actually hit my goal.
Peggy, it will come. Sometimes your body just needs time to adjust to a new way of eating.
Congrats on your pound Ellen!
Have a great day everyone.

Morning Fellow SB's,
Hope your all having a good Tuesday. We made it through the last two nights with freeze warnings and we have one more to go then we should be home free from any more freezing temps. So far everything is ok!
Did any of you have headaches when you first started SB's? It may not be related to SB at all but I have one doozy of a HA this morning and I never have HA's.
Eating is going well, I found several menu things on here and have enjoyed preparing them. Day before yesterday it was Avocado Asparagus wraps, last night it was Mushroom Cheese Fritrata. I am like NuBev, I WANT corn! or at least cornmeal to make cornbread! And legal way to something similar to cornbread? LOL ~Peggy

Good evening everyone. My first day home alone. I've enjoyed it and have been busy. Tomorrow I've got to go out with a friend so I'll be gone most of the day. Is there a specific eating plan that you all are following? or, wait, is it called "Sugarbusters"? (I'm sure I sound totally stupid...) How does this work? I just wanted to stop in and say hello. Not sure when i'll have time to write anything much. If its not the damn cat its me. Thankfully I don't have kids yet--id really be introuble then. Ha
have a good night!

Hello Bigtime, I am new here too but you will really like this board. The long time posters make you feel welcome and go out of their way to include you in things. Ditto on GymRat's advise about the book. I ordered mine from Amazon.com b/c I could not find one in any of the bookstores. My doctor suggested it to me. It is not a lot different from the way we had been eating for the past few years except for the white flour/rice/corn/sugar aspect. I have been on the diet for one week today. Be sure and look at the recipe board...I found tons that I can't wait to try! Oh, the weight tracker thing...my computer tells me I have to post 25 times before I can use that function. Hope this helps you and welcome!
GYM~~~Hope you get better soon!
