Default so proud of myself!

so, i had some thoughtful self-reflection today, after completing my workout today, which comprised of the following:

-Biked to and from the gym (total of 4 miles - biking home is mostly uphill - eek!)
-Did my standard 30 minutes on the elliptical, today at a pretty high intensity (stayed in "peak cardio" range for 20 minutes)
-Did 15 minutes of upper-body strength training (which was an achievement for me, because i've been avoiding strength training like the plague!)
-Decided after that was done, i wanted to try jogging a mile again (i've only done this once since starting my diet/exercise plan this time around), and guess what- i did it!

I was a little concerned about the uphill bike ride home, but to my surprise, i was able to get up the big hill without stopping!

after all this activity, i stopped and thought: wow. three months ago when i started on this "journey", i wouldn't have even been able to attempt this much physical activity. **** - a month ago i probably couldn't have. it's an exciting and very motivating feeling, to see progress in my fitness level. even if i don't see the scale move a pound, i think i would want to keep this up, since it's such a great feeling.

other than bragging (hehe), i guess i wanted to post this in case there is someone out there in those extremely early stages before you have seen any results and the frustration starts to set in. don't give up! in three short months i feel like i'm more fit than i have been in my adult life, and only ready to become more so! stick with it!

I commend you on your vigorous workout plan!!!
Lately I realized that I enjoy working out as well and I want to make it part of my lifestyle. Not just because I'm trying to loose a few pounds. It makes me feel good. And I don't feel like a lazy bum..lol

Woo hoo!

That is great. I started with a personal trainer on tuesday (I see her twice a week) and reading your story was so great! I don't like going to the gym...but this time it isn't about the gym....it's about me.
