Good morning! :coffee:

Sipping my coffee and getting ready to go to Curves. I haven't been there for the past 2 weeks, so it's time to get my behind back into that routine. It's just too easy to loaf around the house all morning. ;) I just keep thinking about the warmer weather ahead, and the fact that I want to be able to fit into my spring wardrobe!

Who wants coffee? :coffee2:

:coffee: Thanks Cottage :)

I was at Label Shopper yesterday oohing over all the spring clothes. I need an entirely new wardrobe and am looking forward to shopping but dreading the expense. I'm not buying anything until the weather improves though. At this rate I might lose another size by then!

Have fun at Curves!

good morning chicas!

weeelll.. it is already 11:30 over here but i still feel sufficiently morningish:)
have just finished my yummy P1 breakfast..overdid it a wee bit over easter but a few days of p1 should set me straight. the weather here is absolutely insane..snowstorms, sunshine, hail etc.
i def feel the need for a second cup of coffee this morning..my kitten has decided that 3:30am is a great time for playing and bouncing around on my head *sigh* but she is sooo cute that i just can't get too angry (yet) ;)
am also feeling pretty lazy and loafish on my vacation but i need to get out and run errands *yuck*

cottage: what exactly is curves?

double skim milk caramel lattes and a great day for everybody:carrot:

Just plain old instant here. For some reason I really don't mind the stuff if I make it strong enough and it sure is fast. We have another day of cold sunshine but I notice that the snow mountains are shrinking a bit. Pretty soon I'll be crabbing about muddy paw season.

Hershey goes to her new fur-stylist this morning. It's her second time going to Susie who does a super job. My girl looks her gorgeous show dog self when she is done! Now I need to get the winter weight off her. It;ll be better when we can go for walks.

Food exhibited a little slippage this weekend (no chocolate) so it'll be back on track today. I need to think about spring clothes. I tried on my favourite flowered jacket Saturday night and discovered it was too big to wear. I can't believe it as I've lost only 16 pounds. Looks like a major alteration job is in my future!

Time for a fruit, milk and Fibre One shake. See y'all later.

Thanks for starting the coffee, Linda. I do love the smell, although I refrain from imbibing. I'd be too crazy on caffeine!

Cyndi, you'll have such fun getting a new wardrobe! Too bad you can't get one of those makeover TV shows to foot the bill...

Morning, Jan! Curves is a gym here in the States that gears its workouts to women. There's a circuit set up with resistance machines and some cardio stations, and the whole thing takes thirty minutes to get through. The idea is that women who would normally be intimidated by going to a gym with a whole bunch of folks who are hefting trucks over their heads and whatnot can feel more comfortable among other women who are at similar fitness levels. Hey, I've got a question to you! I've been hearing about these Volksmarches (I probably butchered that spelling...) and how wonderful they are. What's your take on them?

Enjoy your shake, Ruth! And congrats on the jacket! Do you take your things in to be altered or do you do it yourself?

I'm back from my run and have fed one-third of the munchkins. Avery seems to have a gloppy nose since yesterday and I hear Connor coughing in his room, so I'm hoping another cold isn't going to bring them down. They've been a wee bit sick ever since we got back Stateside and it would be nice for them to not have any more of the runny noses! I've been able to avoid it so *knock on wood* I'm hoping to sidestep this one, too.

Have a pleasant day, all! We're just up to the same-old-same-old.

Morning Chickies!!!

Cottage, have fun at Curves!

Cyndi, I have a boat load of new spring/summer clothes (saved $ by shopping sales/internet/target!) and of course it is in the low 30's!! Guess I'll have to wear the "big stuff" till it warms up.

Janda, enjoy your vacation!

Ruth, I think it's almost as fun to take the doggies to the beauty parlor as to go myself. I need to bring one of our in to get "even" in a few weeks since my son decided to shave part of him (where his allergy was really showing up) He seems much better since I started cooking his food myself...he just looks like a deranged lion with his "hair cut"

Kara, hope Connor is feeling better soon and that no one else gets sick. It's so hard when our babies get sick (no matter how old they are)

Me: nothing exiting. I have a ton of work to do. Working on 2 new sites plus regular work on 2 sites I have to work on daily. I need to go get some food in this house too...cupboard is bare.
Some friends dropped by yesterday afternoon to bring us some sago palm babies (and we gave them some ginger babies) and I made my "greek yogurt ice cream" for them and they loved it. They were suprised it was a "diet" recipe. We had a nice visit with them on the patio.

I'm back from Curves and feeling all positive and good about myself now. :) Thanks, Kara, for explaining what Curves is all about! The nice thing about Curves is that you can increase the intensity of your workout, or just do the normal circuit routine, according to how you feel. We're lucky that ours is one of the larger franchises that has all the latest machines and whatnot. And, yes, you did spell "volksmarching" correctly. ;) We really enjoyed it while we were living in Germany. It's a great way to meet the locals and enjoy the countryside while getting some exercise at the same time!

Cyndi, do you have a thrift shop or even a Goodwill store nearby? I've gotten a lot of clothing there, and most of it is in very good, almost new, condition. :) I think it's a great way to have things that fit you without spending good money on an item that you know you will be too big for you in a few weeks!

Ruth, that's wonderful that you had the added benefit of losing a lot of weight along with getting a new knee! It's a shame you have to suffer through all the pain, though. You really, really deserve a major shop for a new wardrobe after all that! :D I hope you will take some snapshots of Hershey for us, all ready to greet spring!

Nessa, I hope your day back at work is a good one! How's Bri feeling?

Cat, don't work too hard today!

I have a pot of butternut squash soup simmering, and a big baking pan full of butternut squash, brussel sprouts, onions and pecans roasting in the oven that I'm going to mix with some sauteed spinach and dried cranberries. I'll be eating good for a few days!

Good morning, Cottage - I've gotta drink decaf, so I'll get mine brewing in just a minute. Flavored, too - I think today is Hazelnut Cream.

I have only lost enough so far to fit comfortably into the clothes I was growing out of. I must lose more to go down a size.

Janda - I get to stay home today (yay!) but only because my house really needs cleaning up again (boo!).

Ruth - I forgot about muddy paw season. Kids let the dog in and out at will, so I'll be cleaning up paw prints all the time. Great job on the coat being too big!

Nessa - great job on sticking with plan the whole day yesterday!!! Hope you can get to the gym soon since you love it so much.

ME: Just cleaning today. I'm leaning toward a P2-ish P1. Does that make sense?

I am mostly doing P1, but I bought some stone ground TLC/Kashi crackers (1 gm fiber EACH and only 30 calories!) to eat with my avocado. I also have some all-bran bran buds to mix in with my waffles. I bought some Flax & Fiber bread (4gm fiber per slice and only 80n cals). I'll have ONE of those things each day, not all of them. I didn't have it in me mentally to go strict on P1 again and was afraid I'd give up completely. We'll see how this goes as far as cravings.

Also - found a new hummus at Wal-Mart yesterday and found 2 new flavors: Roasted Pine Nut and Artichoke/Spinach. I LOVE artichokes!!

If it warms up today I might get a walk with the kids when they get home. I think it's only maxing out at 40.

GOOD MORNING! I'll take a second cup of coffee.

Cottage sure wish I had a curves around here, I'm happy with my yoga but I could use a little more toning in my arms, I have some saggy chicken wings going on there!

Cyndi I have done ALOT of shopping at goodwill lately, infact I stopped at one in Indianapolis this weekend knowing there would be better quality stuff there. I have gotten 3 skirts that look like that have never been worn and they are good brand name items for under 3.50 each!

Janda Hope you are enjoying your time off!

Ruth I have a couple of items from my bigger days that I love and would love to have altered just don't know anyone to do it!

Kara hope the kids stay healthy and you too!

Nessa Sounds like you have had a rough week, to you although I know you are one tough cookie!

Cat don't work to hard on your vacation!

Gonna Heres hoping for a calm day for you so you can get caught up!

Me same ole same ole here, I have once again found my desk and feel the power today! I am going to kick some A** and take names today! :D Still trying to find a good "before" picture for this casting call, seems I avoided the camera at all costs for many years! G'morning chicks. I had a good Ph1 day yesterday. I also tried my new yoga DVD and LOVED it. I've gotten a couple of others from the library but found them too intimidating and difficult to do the poses. This one was perfect and she showed lots of alternative ways to do the poses for folks that are not so flexible anymore and might have some extra flesh in the way. So now I can add that to my WATP DVD repertoire. I set my March exercise goal at 900 minutes and have already broken 1000, so I am feeling pretty optimistic this morning about making it into the 180's by the end of the month.
Today will be a challenge though, getting in the exercise and everything else. This afternoon I've got to take DD to an interview inside the beltway, and hopefully we'll have time to hit Trader Joe's on the way home. I'm going to go plan out my food right now so I am prepared.

Ruth, you should try the cold brew coffee method. I make up a pound of coffee concentrate over the weekend and then I'm set for the week. It only takes a few seconds to zap some in the morning and it's really good.

I have read all your posts but I'll have to catch up with you chicks later, as I really need to get moving here. Have a good one chicks!

Cat, what are sago palm and ginger babies? Glad your visit was nice with your friends!

Oh, Linda, your roasting veggies sound delectable!

Gonna, enjoy your treadmill time tonight! Good luck with the work.

Krystal, report back on your hummus flavors! They sound really yummy! :T

Stephanie, have fun taking names! I picture you as a spunky gal!

Tawnya, hope you're on the mend. We swear by chamomile tea when we're not feeling well. It's so relaxing.

Schmoodle, good luck with all your running around today! Drive safely in that crazy DC traffic.

TK - don't forget that you can gargle with salt water to help that inflammation/infection. There are also some natural things you can take that are antibiotic, but I don't know about them enough. Maybe you can Google something like that?

If not, your body will likely fight this off, it will just take a while. My DH does not take any meds, and he has had strep, sinus infections, flu, etc. If you give yourself plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids, a normal healthy body will eventually get through the illness. It is a very miserable process, though.

Tawnya, you could try garlic. I got through a mastitis infection by eating raw cloves of garlic, cut into swallow-able pieces. I think I was taking three cloves in the morning, afternoon, and evening, but I can't remember exactly.

Nessa, PM me if you've got free time in the Philly suburbs!

Oh Kara! Raw garlic? BLECH!!! Guess I will pray for no mastitis when baby arrives.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. Lots of action here this morning. I won't tell you what I eat now. I have LOST 3 lbs. since I got pregnant which is ridiculous because it takes me practically killing myself to lose any weight on a normal basis. I have had all-day sickness though which doesn't help I'm sure.

One of my best friends is in the hospital right now having a baby. I can't wait to see him--and her!--sometime today or tomorrow.

I just gotta share this. I decided since I had time today, that I would ATTEMPT to do the Fluidity advanced workout dvd...and I did it!!! This "old lady" did it! It really is too long to do in the mornings when I have to go to school, but I can do it on the weekends and this summer when school is out. Cottage: Good morning! Thanks for starting us up. :D I'm glad that you're getting back into the groove at Curves! I need to get back to my walking - I've been slacking quite a bit lately. Your cooking today sounds like it's delicious - can I join you?

Cyndi: Congrats on needing a new wardrobe!! :carrot: The expense is something to worry about, sure, but imagine how much fun you'll have picking out new clothes!!

janda: Mmmmmm...caramel lattes. Sounds wonderful. I've always thought kittens were adorable, but I'm extremely allergic to them. :( But I do get to live vicariously through all the cat owners around. :) Have a good day!

Ruth: Congrats! :bravo: Your 16 lb. loss is fantastic! I hope Hershey enjoys her "spa" day - I'm sure she'll look lovely when she's done!

Kara: I hope the munchkins don't have something that is catching - you'd better stay healthy! Volksmarching sounds like a lot of fun - I'm sure you'll be doing it once you get to Germany.

Nessa: Good morning! Hope you have a good day!

Cat: Sounds like a good growing season is in store for you. I wouldn't expect anything less! ;) Is the ginger the edible kind, or just ornamental?

Gonna: Good morning! Hope you have a good day and enjoy your exercising!

Fluffy: I love hummus, but we only get two kinds here. Spinach and artichoke sounds yummy...maybe I'll have to come up with a recipe to make it myself. Thanks for the idea. Have a great day!

Stephanie: You take those names!! Way to get to work with such great enthusiasm and motivation - maybe I should channel your vibes - I feel like going home and crawling into bed!

Schmoodle: I'm glad you found a yoga workout that you like - yoga can be really intimidating. I've watched "Namaste" on Fitv a few times and thought, "whatever!!" Enjoy your shopping at Trader Joe's!

tk:  I'm sending get well thoughts your way! :goodvibes

Me: Well, MIL still hasn't decided if she's coming or not. She's driving me crazy!! :dizzy: I do want her to come see us, but she's making it really hard. She's supposed to be here Friday and I still don't know if I need to set up the guest bed!! :yikes: I think she wants us to offer to help pay for her gas, but she just doesn't understand what we mean when we say that the account is balanced at $0 and that we closed ALL of our credit card accounts. Sigh. This is why we moved to West Texas - too much drama in South Texas.

Well, it's taken me a while to get this post out and I've got a stack on my desk to get to. I hope you all have a good day!

Jessie, I didn't chew the garlic, just swallowed it. I actually love garlic, but it was a bit pungent to be swallowing cloves of it! Worth it to avoid antibiotics, though. You should be fine. Just nurse a lot. I had no issues with either of my first two, but I was so stressed when Avery was younger, what with moving to Korea and back and back to Korea and all. I think I was just run down and that immune system being low let in junk that I should've been able to fight off.

I get the impression some of you haven't yet discovered Label Shopper! I am a big thrift store fan and do most of my shopping there. A couple of years ago we got a Label Shopper in town and now I'm hooked. When they have sales I can get brand new stuff for $2 - 7 a piece, including jeans, sweaters, etc. Even their regular prices are in the $10 range, though the sales are my favorite of course :)

Wegman's is just upscale grocery store. They are nice but I don't think it would be worth and extra trip. We don't have them here, but my in-laws in PA shop there.

We also have no TJs...closest is Atlanta. I went to one in St. Louis but had DH with me and didn't get to shop around the way I would have liked. I wish I had bought more than one of their Thai heat-and-eat meals...it was so yummy! My supper club keeps joking we are going to have a field trip to TJ's in Atlanta sometime.

Cyndi: I have never heard of Label Shopper. I guess my hopes of ever seeing one are slim to none, though!

Me (again): So, the MIL situation has been averted. She has decided not to come this weekend. DH called her a while ago to find out if she was coming and she said, "No". She then proceeded to tell DH that "you never know, I may call you later this week to tell you we're on our way." Well, thank goodness DH put his foot down and told her he needed to know definitively yes or no right then. So, she's going to try to come see us in May. Thank goodness. School will probably be out then and I'll have more time to prepare!

Thanks for all the suggestions. yeah, I was thinking of going on online to look for natural things I can take to get rid of this nasty thing I have. I looked at the back of my mouth and my left tonsil is so swollen that it takes up half of the opening into my throat. I am just miserable. At least my 2 oldest went to school today. I have my 2 youngest and DH is at work worried sick about me. He's been having anxiety attacks yesterday and this morning. I don't think that's linked together but he does. Trying to get some sleep but everytime I dose off, the baby cries for something. And I can never get the 2 to sleep at the same time. Feeling alittle better besides the sore throat and terrible allergies. I'll go and look for those things online.

femme-my favorits flower is that ginger. I'm originally from Hawaii and it grows so beautifully there. We make leis out of it and it just smells so good. Oh how I miss Hawaii. (and my favorite flower)

I am a HUGE fan of Wegman's! I would live there if I could. Seriously! I buy a lot of organic, so groceries is the largest budget item for us but it's worth it to me, for the taste and the security of mind that I'm not putting too many chemicals in the kids. I never really bought any processed foods anyway, so shopping Beach-style hasn't been that much of a change. I find Wegman's to have the best organic and vegetarian options of any of the markets we have in our area (Acme, ShopRite, Whole Foods, Geunardi's) and their prices on these things are comprable, if not better, than at the other stores. Because they tend to serve a different crowd than the "regular" grocery stores, their customer service is excellent, the store is impeccably clean, and I can always find what I'm looking for. We go every Sunday after church since the closest Wegman's is just a couple miles from our church! The kids love it - there's a model train that runs above the dairy section and Avery cannot get enough of it, plus I let them try all the samples that are out on the weekends.

Kara--warning the volksmarching is addictive--DH's mom is 85 and is still at it. But what a healthy addiction. She participates in groups down in Texas, she is in San Antonio, but goes to west Texas and Dallas area frequently for volksmarches.
Schmoodle--I enjoy Wegman's, but the store isn't in our current neighborhood, when we move in another 2 months, there is one very close. We used Wegman's deli department for most of our wedding reception catering.
Good afternoon everyone else!!!

OK, Tom's aunt and uncle gave the kids each a HUGE chocolate bunny on Easter and I put them on top of the fridge and I SO want to eat them all up right now. Ugh. I have reasoned with myself, "Will it really make you feel better?" NO! "Will it really satisfy what you want?" NO! But the stupid things are just sitting there being all cute and bunny-y and hopping around in my head. I've brushed my teeth. I've flossed. I've rinsed with mouthwash. I'm chewing gum. I'm seriously considering going to bed now, at 8:19!

Somebody tell them to shush and leave me alone!

Kara, I'm right there with you. I have PMS and I am HuNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY... The chocolate and jelly beans just keep CALLING me.

Cat - I notice you saying that you're doing websites. What do you do - design the layout, program code (PHP, MySQL, etc.) or do graphics?

OK, I think I'm going to go hop in the bathtub and read my book for a while. I'm not sure if that will help any, but at least it's a half hour where I'm not able to get to the fridge (with any source of heat or modesty!)
