Default Help for Newb question - plan 4

Hi Everyone

I'm new to LAWL, I weight 187 and was put on plan 4.

After reading some of the other posts I am curios to know what weight average other people are on plan 4.

The plan seemed like a lot of food for me. I don't do the LA Lites because of dietary issues and nothing was subbed.

It just seems like a lot of food to me, I'm horrible at being motivated and worry that I'll muck this all up if I gain weight this week.
I must have PMS or something because I'm pretty frustrated and mixed up about it.

What do you guys who have been on the plan for a little while think?

Thanks
Heidi

I'm on Plan 4 with Lites, and I currently weight 248. =)

The lites adds extra protein and calories, so you should talk to your counselor about subsitutions for the LA Lites. =)

It IS a lot of food, but don't worry too much...if you keep up the plan and keep working at it, you should lose weight steadily and you'll go on a plan that's got less food, from what I understand.

You did get a substitute for the lites- the extra food. Normally you would probably be on plan 3 with lites, but since you can't have them they have to give you some extra exchanges. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. So yes, you have a lot of food and it probably is going to be tough, but once you lose a few more pounds you may be able to be moved down a plan. Stick with it! How tall are you by the way?? That makes a difference as well...

Thanks Michie

I'm 5'3" so kind of short and pudgy.
I'm not allowed the lites because I have IBS, and she just crossed it off and didn't substitute anything.

I asked if I could have the crispy delights snacks, they're only 90 calories and made from whole grains. She said just count it as a starch.

Maybe that's why I'm on plan 4 if there's no lites and no substitutes.
I'll see how it goes. I just checked on my scale which is a nice 5lbs less than their scale, but even with the conversion it looks as though i've lost weight this week.

I just really want to be rid of this extra weight and get healthy.
Thanks for your post.

I'm also 5'3", as well. I'm guessing it's probably what michie said. =) Good luck, it really does work if you keep going at it! =)

I'm no counselor or anything, but since the lites have 14-16 grams of protein (in 2 bars a day) and probably close to 400 calories (again, in 2 bars..) you have to make up for that some other way. Since you can't have any other bars (or maybe you can?? Check out Luna Bars, South Beach Bars, ect..) you have to make up that protein and calories in extra food. Most people that can't do bars are always put on the next level plan. So good luck! As I said, you are probably very very close to the next plan... depending on your height and weight they have some way of knowing approximately when you need to move plans. Next time you go in ask them how much weight before you get to move down a plan. Good luck with it and stick to it!

Yeah, I think that plan 4 seems high. I am on plan 3, no lites. Welcome, BTW!

I have yo-yoed around too. I was always around 150 or so, then went down to 126 over the span of a year or two, funny thing was it wasn't deliberate. I WISH I could luck into that again. But have gained steadily for many years since (about 6 years) add in 2 kids and I was up over 200, probably around 220 two years ago.

I haven't figured out my goal weight but I'll just be happy when I don't feel so big and have more energy and just feel healthier!

Then, hopefully no more yo-yoing.

Well I thought I'd post the info in case anyone else is wondering the same thing I was.

I called the center today and she said she put me on plan 4 with no LA lites. And she was going to switch me to plan 3 at 181.

There ya go. =) The counselor put you on Plan 4 to make up for your lack of LA Lites. I'm thinking my own counselor will probably switch me up to Plan 5 (is there such a thing?) without LA Lites since I told her after the bulk is out...I honestly cannot afford to buy any more.
