Default Dance Dance ...Revolution?

Okay guys,

I'm thinking about getting a playstation and dance dance revolution the game. My brother was going to buy me a laptop for school, but I could care less about that so I was thinking about asking him to buy me this instead.

Does anyone have any DDR experience? If so can you tell me how effective it was for you?

I go to the gym but I just get so tired of the monotony...I need something to spice up my exericse.

Thanks,

Liz.

Well if you're looking for an exercise to spice things up a bit, Dance Dance Revolution for the playstation 2 is a great way to do so. Not only does almost each DDR game contain roughly 70 songs, there's 6 or 7 DDR games in all for the PS2 you can buy to keep the repetitiveness of the same songs down pretty low.

As for me, I try to get one hour of DDR cardio in per day, and let me tell you....by the time my hour is over my clothes are either soaked in sweat or on the floor, haha. It's a very intense exercise and it gets even better after you get used to playing a get better so you can increase the difficulty of the game which means more steps, faster speed, and more sweat.

Also, DDR games have a workout mode which when being played, shows you how many calories your burning as you play. My favorite feature of workout mode is that you can set your goal for exercising per session, such as how long you wish to play, or keep playing until a certain amount of calories have been burned and once you burn the amount of calories you set, it will let you know. I always set mine to let me know after I burn 500 calories which takes about an hour 1/2- 2 hours, but I play pretty intensely. It also tells you how your dancing equates to jogging, swimming, or jump roping. I was shocked to see that the amount of DDR I played in one session, I would have ran for about 7 miles!!!

Best of all, IT'S FUN!!! Once you really get into it, one hour of exercise goes by in what seems like only a half an hour and you wanna keep on going, especially if you're still in the process of unlocking new songs.

Since you were going to be getting a laptop which is pretty costly, I say you should buy a game and order a really nice DDR dance pad to better the experience even more. So a game and a REALLY nice dance pad will cost you roughly $330.

I hope this was of some help to you. Trust me, get into DDR and your exercise life will be forever changed.

~A huge DDR fan~

WOW! Thanks for all the info. I think I will definitely make an investment in my health (DDR) as oppose to an investment in my constant gaining of weight (new laptop=on my butt)! I can't wait until my brother gets home so we can go shopping!!!
