Default Fasting Labs Questions

My employer decided to do health screening for insurance costs. In other words, if you do the health screening your insurance will cost less. Anyway, I need to fast for 12 hours prior to my labs. The unfortunate thing is that my labs aren't until 10:30am!! Not very brilliant on their part. My questions are 1) How do I get from 7am, when I wake up, to 10:30am without eating. Water & coffee are OK, but I don't drink coffee. and 2)How do I make up my WW points without going crazy?

Thanks so much for the help. Never had to deal with anything like this before and I don't want to blow it!

Not exactly sure. I'd personally just be drinking tons of water until after my tests.

You can also call the clinic that's doing the test and find out how long the fast has to be for.

I wouldn't drink coffee if I were you, I'd stick to plain water.

Can you make a healthy meal to bring with you and eat right after your labs? That would be my suggestion, a "brunch" meal.

Yea, definitely bring something with you that you can eat as soon as it's over. That'll be key.

You'll be okay. Don't stress out about not eating. Just keep a lot of water on hand. =D

Can you sleep in? Just joking!

I've had to do my share of fasting labs at 10'ish and you'll be fine. Obviously pack something to eat for right afterwards. Also, eat something of substance before you go to bed - as long as that sort of eating doesn't keep you from sleeping.

Thanks all for the advice!!

I'll definately be packing something for "brunch" and I'll eat something before bedtime.

The good thing is that the labs aren't until next week. So with 1-1/2 weeks on program under my belt my labs should be pretty good and my weight should be down...I hope!

If you drink lot's of water you will alter your test results and so will caffeine. Drink some water but don't overdo it. Good luck.
