Hello, I am from the Maritimes (Eastern Canada) and I have no idea what rotel tomatoes are. I see a lot of WW recipes use them. Are they a type of tomato or is it a brand? Just curious. I would like to know so I can replace them in some of the recipes I've found here. Thanks!

Rotel is a brand.

They are a tad spicy - mixed with green chilis - not really spicy, but just have some added flavor, rather than plain canned tomatoes. They also come in a "hot" version if you want more zing. I think you could substitute a can of diced tomatoes instead of Rotel.

Try the Alymer seasoned tomatoes. Not spicy hot, but a little bit more interesting than just plain ones.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was thinking about those also, maybe spice it up a bit with some chili spice or hot sauce.
