We made it back home and had a wonderful trip. We landed in Ft. Lauderdale at 11:30 p.m. and made our way to our hotel. The next morning it was 86F and I got all dressed up in my summer clothes and quickly burned a bit! After lunch a huge storm came through, causing a black out in Miami and other parts in the south, but didn't affect where we were. The water in the streets, however, was like huge swimming pools. Then is started to get cold, and it was a couple of days before I was back in anything cool. We made our way to Orlando, where we visited the Epcot Center and the Kennedy Space Center. Then we drove along Cape Canavaral and Cocoa Beach to Melobourne. That is where I will go if I go again to Florida. Didn't care that much for Ft. Lauderdale. Next time I want to go see the other side of Florida. Anyway, the temps got down into the low 60's while in Orlando, and much colder at night. The good thing was that it got cold, with no humidity and I did great in that weather:D Then it was off to Georgia where I visited with a friend. We drove through Tennessee (Meme, if I had realized I was doing that I sure would have stopped to see you) and Kentucky and into Indiannia, on our way to Chicago. I loved those Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. I'll bet they are beautiful in the summer. They are very different from the mountains I am used to visiting. In Chicago, I stayed with a life long friend (friends since we were 7 yrs old) It was just too short, but great! Then across Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska, into Wyoming, where we again stopped and visited, then up from Wyoming through Montana and back into Alberta, where the weather greeted us with spectacular sunshine and temps of 56F (almost one of the warmest spots we visited  ) The only "bad" weather we really had, was going over a mountain pass from Wyoming into Montana, and it was for about an hour. Just lots of icy stuff.
All in all, had a great trip, drove over 4000 miles and saw lots of your beautiful country. Lot's of the Northern States look just like the Southern parts of Canada. I did manage to pick out a few places I do want to go revisit.
Glad to be home, and Mima and Tammy, glad you had a good holiday. That 86F temp. in Florida, with that humidity was way to much for me. I had a hard time breathing, so glad it got cooler.
Joanne and Tammy, glad you two had a great visit. it is so nice to meet your internet friends. That is who I visited in Georgia and Wyoming. A couple of gals I have known for 8 years now.
Meme - hope you ae doing well and feeling better.
Everybody have a great day.

Welcome back to Anne and a Happy Birthday to Joanne!!!
Anne, I was at Epcot on Feb. 28!! We were so close!
Joanne, it sounds like you have a nice day planned with someone bringing dinner. I'm with you on getting some pounds off. I moved my little butterfly while we were in the south, but it hasn't moved since. I'm glad that it hasn't moved in the wrong direction!!!
Tim and I are flying to Orlando and hitting Disney the first week of May. My friend who works there can get us a discount, and she told me if I was interested in one to let her know. She gets so many a year, and as of right now, no one else has shown an interest. We'll stay in one of the Value Resorts while we are there. Bob has no interest in going back. Tim and I will split the cost.

So great you had a nice trip-Joanne and I are on the West coast-come on down.
Wow-what a great birthday, Joanne . Sounds perfect-Congratulations.
I HAVE TO STOP EATING!!!!!!! Ever since the cruise, I have been nibbling-going to throw away some cookies-at least we walked last night.
Today we will take Alison shopping. And lunch.
Suzanne's Godmother contacted me-I need to find her a ride to the wedding. It is pretty far for most folks!!!I do know 3 different people tht might. 2 might have full cars but I am so glad she wants to go.
Yesterday, I ordered Suzanne a Proud Army wife shirt and bumper sticker and a bride "hoodie:: . That's a zippered sweatshirt. Done!!!!
Besides all this, I have 4 bd's this month and 4 next month and 2 in may. Next year, they are getting a card and a dollar!!!! Haha-we added 4 to our family this year.
Suzanne and Jim went out with Bobby and Pam-S said they were holding hands-I have NEVER seen him with a gf and he will be 33 this month,
Red Sox game on Thurs!!! Mima

Mima, I'm with you on the eating. It seems like we were snacking on our trip, and not really eating real meals. I did lose a few pounds, but since we've been home the scales are at a standstill. Of course, since we've been home, I haven't gotten out to do any walking or anything either.
I like what you are getting for Suzanne!! Cool!! We've cut back on gifts for everyone. Once the kids are out of college, they are on their own. My niece is getting married in June, so we'll be getting shower gifts and wedding gift of course, but B-days and Christmas is just a card now.
My hubby and I got married when he was 33. I wasn't his first wife though.
Bob just went to Subway to get lunch. Glad we have one in town. Tim is finally out of bed and in the shower. I've been dusting, but stopped when I realized that we need to change filters that are in the wall and ceiling in 2 different spots. I'm sure there will be some dust flying from that.
I took a Tylenol PM before I went to bed last night. Since we've been home, I have had a terrible time sleeping and my back has hurt so bad every morning. I slept last night AND my back didn't hurt as bad. It's the lower back, and I know it's the arthritis. Not much to be done about it.
Hope you are all doing well!!

Hi-I have been still eating way to much-Suzanne cut the carbs and she feels great.I ate bread pudding last night and hurt like crazy,
Our friend Joyce is in the hospital-her heart was beating irregularly so they need to fix it-she' s hoping to avoid surgery. I need to make calls for her and put her on the prayer list in Sunday school-we have a prayer chain.
Going to A Red Sox game with Mike-bought the ticket for his birthday.I have my Ortiz shirt from the VBS sports theme.
We got Al's dress -very pretty but shoes are a problem-her foot has a high arch and is a children's size. And she wants grown-up shoes, of course.
I have been doing searches to no avail.
Hi all-Mima

Good morning ladies.
It has been so nice out the past week, but today, I guess we are due to get a little bit of snow. It is still winter here, that is for sure.
Mima - glad things are coming together. Hope you can find shoes. What size does she wear? I have forgotten, when IS the wedding? Hope you and Brad are feeling better.
Tammy - so you have Tim home. Enjoy your time together. Tammy, try those Therma Care wraps on your lower back. They stay warm for 8 hours and they really help the arthritis in my lower back. I use them at work a lot of the time. Keeps the muscles relaxed. They are kind of expensive, but I use them sparingly, and only when I really must. I used one when we flew to Florida as well. If I don't, my lower back gets in such a snit!
Joanne - where have you been since your birthday? Hope it was good. Sounds like you were having yourself a really nice day.
Meme - where have you gone? Hope you are feeling better as well. I wonder if Candice will ever get a new computer and get herself back here.
I am not doing much today. Worked the past 2 days, but we do need groceries. We just picked up a couple of things when we came home a week ago, but they are gone and we have been living out of the cupboard. I guess we could live awhile, but it isn't that great. Need something to cook.
Everybody have a nice day.
Tammy

Mima, how is your friend Joyce feeling? Was the game fun?
It has been raining here today. Not much though. Hope it stays like this or we could be in for some flooding in the area because of all of the snow melting.
Anne, I have some of those patches, and I also have a prescription patch (lidoderm?) from the rheumatologist. I try not to use them because of the expense. Maybe I'll put one on before I go to bed tonight and see if it helps. We went to the store the day we got home to stock up, and we've been back several times since when we realize we need something.
Bob and Tim are getting ready to go get haircuts. I might take a short nap while they are gone. I need to do some cleaning, but I'm not in the mood. lol I never am in the mood for that.
Happy Canuk
03-14-2008, 03:20 PM
Tammy, the ThermaCare is not a patch, it is a heat belt, so it is like wearing a heating pad for 8 hrs. They are great and Costco is the cheapest place to get them.
I take 222's for the arthritis, unless it gets too bad, then I resort to prescription meds. You don't have 222's in the USA, but they work for me, MOSTLY!!! They have asprin and codeine in them, and you have to get them from behind the counter at the pharmacy. When really, really hurting, I have to take something stronger, but it isn't too often anymore.
We are getting snowflurries today, but it won't stay around, as by Monday we are into warmer weather again.
Sold the old Saab we had, on Tuesday night, so had to look after getting the insurance off it. That is now done. This seems to be my runaround day. I have been to Costco this morning and now going to the regular grocery store.

Good morning. Our friend Joyce wound up in the hospital because her heart was beating irregularly. she is coming home today. We went to visit last night.
Got 2 pair of shoes for Al to try. The wedding is April 26-we start calling the people who didn't respond today.
We owe 2.000 to the IRS. Not really a good tim efor that but God provides, The real problem is that we didn't send enough money in on or estimated taxes-we thought we would get the apt deductions but most of it is not repairs-it's remodeling. I kept telling Brad we need to send in more money but he said no so it's his fault, tight. Oh well, it's pay now or pay later.
I bet Meme is working on those taxes.
Baking Mike a cake for his bd today. Triple chocolate!!
My back is brutal and my hip is too. It;s gor something to do with my legs and feet, because my feet keep cramping. I need a massage. I will get one but tell him to take it easy on my back-last year I didn't know about all the srthritis. Those injections did not help.
I saw the prettiest jacket at BJ's. I think I will buy it when we go for our Easter shopping. I ahve 2 showers to go to and Easter.
Suzanne is doing well not eating flour and sugar.
Bye for now-mima

Hello Everybody- That H/cath put me down for a couple days.. I didn't realize it would make me feel so bad.. I have beem busy running here and there and just don't seem to find time for me.. That has got to change.. I haven't been eating right and so have gained a couple pounds+.. That is going to change too,,
Our G/son is getting married in June so the daughter says I need a new dress. I guess I will spend some money..I already informed the hubby he is going to put on a tie and jacket for the wedding.. I hate to say how that went over.. I told him he could do what I asked or not go..Giving him a heads up 3 months may not have been the best but it let him know so we don't have to fight the day of the wedding.:D
Got to close he is wanting to go to Walmart..Later

Well, my son says he's not wearing a pink shirt for D wedding-I thought the boys would llook nice in their suits with pink shirts. It's not my call,
Brad is good-I bought him a pink shirt and dark tie to wear with his black jacket and pants.
Celebrated Mike's bd-boy, that cake was awesome-I took 2 beanos and 2 lactaids and have less of a stomache ache than usual.
I also made a casserole for Joyce. Will do some shopping for her today. She wants some drink they gave her in the hospital but doesn't know the name of it-that's Joyce, I am going to the health food store for the last time. before we go.
Bye for now-Mima who is dreading that cold weather to come.

Mima- The drink was probably Insure...They give it all the time in hospitals and nursing homes. It is usually used when the patients don't eat well and they need the extra nourishment..
The Heart dr. changed a med . It makes me feel really tired.. But I have only taken it for 2 days.I see another Dr tomorrow . I'll see what he says..
Louie has 2 pink shirts. He asked for me to buy them.. These days men wear all colors..I like them. I wish there was a better choise of pants. All I can find are browns.black and some dark blue for him..
Hello Tammy,Meme, and Happy..

Anne, I know exactly what you are talking about! I forgot about them. I had some of those heat belts a few years ago when we were on vacation.
Mima, we have all of our tax stuff together to take to the accountant tomorrow. I had it done last year, and I wasn't sure about a few things, so we checked with her. She found some places that she knew about, changed them, and we ended up getting a bit of money back. I don't think we will get back this year though. Just hope we don't owe too much. Triple chocolate cake!!!!! YUMMY!!
Joanne, I remember when my mother had a heart cath, and she was the same way for a couple of days. Take it easy young lady!! I have to get a new dress for my niece's wedding in June. Maybe we should go shopping together!!! I thought the same thing about what Mima's friend Joyce was drinking at the hospital. That's what Bob was drinking. We still keep it on hand, and he drinks one every couple of days. Sometimes more often.
Tim went back to school this afternoon. I know he was glad to get back to see his girlfriend. They didn't see each other over break, but they talked on the phone every day. Also IM on the computer.

Hello-I will ask Joyce about that drink. I went shopping for her and when I delivered the groceries, I tripped up her stairs, which had a jagged cement edge, and skinned my big toe which bled profusely. Wodered if that comes under the heading of no good deed goes unpunished. Not really-
I think I got the right shoes for Al-stretchy silver ballerina shoes with rhinestones on the toes. I could even put an elastic to hold them on.
Now for the top-mall tomorrow.
Went to lunch with our friends for the last time til next year.
Called the no response people and got 3 yes 2 no and a maybe. Suzanne thinks 145-150. At least 8 are children and it's half price. I didn't tell her I need to pay 2000 in taxes. I actually have that covered-some will be from the 1200 we will get back from the tax thing in May. I hide and save up money-will do that for next years taxes, that's for sure.
I hope you are getting rested, Anne.
Today I will be making a lot of changes so we can go back home-things like turning phone at home on and this one off etc. Mima

Mima, you sound like me! I am always running into things and hurting myself. Hope your toe feels better. The shoes for Al sound pretty. We aren't sure what we'll owe in taxes. Bob was on the phone with the tax lady last night, and he wasn't happy when he finished the call. When do you leave for home??
We are going to the liver specialist this afternoon. Hope the liver enzymes have improved, and that nothing else bad shows up. I know Bob is worried. I am concerned also.
Hope you all have a great day!

Tammy- Hope Bob gets a good report from his Dr.I went to Dr yesterday and got a lecture about my colesterol and Trig. Sugar was down 7 points but still too high..I am trying..
We are going to sons house today for a ccokout for my brothers son.. I am not really looking forward to it.. Our sister mary will be there and she is hard to tolerate at times.. Everything has to be about her.. me- I would like to find a spot alone and stay there at these times..I hate the barbs and digs..I guess at my age it is hard to just let things go over my head..She doesn't do it to anyone else..The nephew is a Col. in the army. He works in Washington. He is a great guy. His family is with him. I will enjoy seeing them.
Mima- I am glad I am not the only one who can fall over my feet.:dizzy:I have to be watchfull all the time. I lose my balance easy.Sure am glad that I have no more weddings to plan... I may make the pillow for the rings if the bride is going to use one. My g/son is getting married in June..Her WEDDING PLANNER may have already taken care of it. I always did ok without that expence..I hope my G/son sees the light at the end of the tunnel..He is just a hard working guy and still a student for many more months.
Hello Meme- I guess your head is still buried in tax papers.
Hello Happy..Now that you have seen some of Fl. come on down again..

Hi-We are leaving a week from Sat and stopping in Chrlotte, NC to visit friends. Rich friends who will wine and dine us and not let us pay for anything. I need to find something to bring to the people who have everything.
Went to doc's-told him the treatments didn't help-then went to the mall and found a cute little top for Al in one of her favorite stores.
Art today and church tonight.
I made some signs for Brad;s model rr.
I am now waking up early again. Slept off and on through Idol!!! Love that young 17 year old.

Bob's liver enzymes are still elevated. He has had no alcohol since the beginning of Sept. before he was so sick. The doctor said that maybe it is going to take a while for his to be closer to where they should be. His glucose was 245. That was a couple hours after breakfast, and it is too high. The doctor said he is letting the family doctor know that he thinks he should be on meds for it. Bob was on a pill several years ago for diabetes, and he quit taking them. Stubborn man!!
Joanne, glad that your sugar was down. I know I need to watch my chol. and trig. also. I tested my sugar yesterday morning, and it was 103. I was pleased. I wish I could have been there to help protect you from your sister at the cookout. Did things go well? I'm sure it was nice to see them.
Mima, my cousin lives in NC. Wave to her when you are there!! That's neat that you will be working at the retreat place next fall. Hope you had fun at lunch!!
I met with a friend today. That's the first I've seen her since we've been home. We laughed and talked alot!
Meme and Anne, I hope you are both behaving yourselves!!

I feel like Charlie Brown when the football keeps being taken away-my gf didn't show up-I stood for almost 40 minutes and then came home . I called her and she said AC guys just left and she didn't know how to get in touch with me- I had sent Brad back home to check messages-duh-I did agree to go over again to the restaurant next door to our Park and she was there. She looks terrible-has had shingles which affected her walking and she was bloated from prednisone. She's the same person who has stood me up 2x before. I felt bad because she had been sick. I can forgive her but I can't forget. Next year????? She says she feels bad when it happens .
Enough about that-we are super busy getting ready for 10 people for easter-it may be 12 if Joyce comes with her bf. She's only 79 and she's got a bf. Never been married. He would like to marry her but she says he has health problems but she does too,.
Brad takes Glucophage for his diabetes but he keeps having to take more. He is headed for insulin I think. He has trouble here but when he works at home. he is ok. And that will be soon.
I had to make an appt with the dentist because my tooth is reacting to heat. Don't want it to turn into awful pain.
Suzanne's friend didn't get a shower invite-I think we each thought she was on the other one's list. But glad she asked, She is her best friend and also a bridesmaid. Ha!!!
Going to BJ's and I am going to buy that beautiful paisley jacket!!!I saw last week. Mima

Hi Everybody. Hope you all have a great Easter. We are leaving for my daughter's in the morning, and there will be about 30 of us at her house for Easter Dinner. I passed the "torch" onto her
Mima - Your time is getting near to going back home. I hope that Brad can get his sugars under control. It isn't good for them to be so high. This can just cause so much damage to the body. A friend of ours has to have Dialisis (sp) 3 times a week, due to Diabetes. I hope you have recovered from that fall!
Tammy - it was nice that you got to catch up with a friend. Is Tim home for Easter?
Joanne - hope your bq went well, and please, don't let that sister push your buttons. Life is far to short.
Again - HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF YOU!!
It's my birthday on Easter Sunday, so as you can see, I'm already having a big party

Happy Birthday, Happy!!!! I bet you are only 29!
The good news and bad news-got a call fron Brad;s br. who said our oil tanl was empty, no heat , no Josh. Got in touch with Josh-he said he didn't have monet for oil. Brad said he would get some=Josh said thanks -he won't be saying thanks when he gets evicted. When we get home, we will give him the letter. Brad called a person who had been intersted-they will be signing an agreement to sell their house today and are very interested in the apt. Perfect timing. But even if they aren't, it's ok. Do you think that's why I had an attack of IBS, Josh didn't sign a lease-we don't have to give him a reason.I am putting this in God's Hands and praying that it works out smoothly.
We are getting things ready for tomorrow-we are having 10. What are you doing Tammy and Meme? Mima

We are having 9 and Evan who will sit down for 5 minutes and go.
Our church back home was spray painted with graffiti, along with a few others on Good Friday, Our pastor was interviewed and gave a great witness on forgiveness.Very sad.
Went to the thrift store and bought 7 knives and another set of salt and pepper shakers. something that heats up water using the car cigarette lighter and A SET OF CAKE KNIVES FOR THE WEDDING>. Just have to change the ribbon-brand new. Don't you just love a bargain. Disappointed because they didn't have nice forks!
My other buy was Russell Stover coupons-buy one large chocolate rabbit-get one free.
Bye for now, Mima

Mima, that's too bad about your lunch with your friend! I agree with you about the guy renting your place back home. Time to boot him out of there.
Did Even manage 5 minutes sitting down?? lol That's awful about your church, but great about the pastor. I also love bargains! Chocolate rabbits! Yummy!!!
Anne, it sounds like a crowd for your Easter dinner. Hope it was nice especially since it is your birthday!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!! Tim wasn't able to come home for Easter, so we went over there. We took Tim and his gf to Olive Garden for lunch. Yummy!
Joanne, I'm sure Eleni was a good buffer between you and the other sister. I'm sure she enjoyed that! lol What will you be making for Greek Easter? Anything we tried at the restaurant? I tried to be good at Olive Garded today. I had the Venetian Apricot chicken. It is a lower fat meal and comes with vegies. I did have the salad and a breadstick with it.

Going out got Easter is a great idea. Hope you enjoyed your birthday Anne! And you dinner, Joanne.
My dinner turned out well and it was a nice gathering. Evan did not sit with us -ate fruit and candy.
Suzanne went to the place where her reception was for brunch and was not happy with the food but another time it was good. She is happy that her gown fits and she had bought it smaller.
We have to start getting ready -5 days left. The time flew but we will be here longer next year.
Church was crowded but we got a good seat with our neighbors, The Pastor and 3 others sang Then comes the Morning just like Signature Sound and he did the solo. He can also play the droms and boy can he preach!
Mike pulled the van up to the doorstep and then put the ramp up to the top step!!! Too funny. Al loved the top I bought her but I have to get the next size in the shoes.
I have to recover from jelly beans. Mima

Tammy- Everything turned out good. We had 9. I will cook pretty much the same thing G/Easter as I did this Easter.Lamb,pot,b/rice,salad,all the extras and pies. I will make the egg/lemon soup.
Mima- It is hard for youngsters to be still.. I used to feed mine early and just let them roam.
I am still having chest pain. Gas or whatever.. I am trying to do everything that is asked of me..I feel really tired right now.. Have to go get mammygram today..Going to Dr's is never ending. The one thing I hate to do.
I plan to make the pillow for the rings for my G/sons wedding..That will be a fun thing to do..
Christie having a barking fit.. Must see a bird or something in the yard..
Hello Happy,Meme...Joanne

03-24-2008, 12:12 PM
Good morning, Mima, Joanne and Tammy and, of course Meme(wherever you may be)
Sounds like everybody had a great Easter. There were 26 of us at my daughter's for dinner, and 6 of them were kids. Loved it. My little gdaughter is growing up and will be 2 at the end of May. She is just so darn cute now. Had a great birthday and thanks for the birthday greetings. Another year gone!
Mima - I LOVE to come home! I would NEVER be one to be gone for months on end. Too bad about Josh . Some are just plain rotten.
Tammy - I had a great birthday and a great Easter. I always love being around my family. My nephew and his family were there as well. We only see them, at best, once a year at Easter. Sometimes, however is gets to be a couple of years.
Joanne - sounds like you had a nice gathering and now you get to do it all over again  Hope they find out what the heck is causing that pain.
Next weekend, it is Ashley's 10th birthday! Not sure how she is getting so old, but we will have to go back to Edmonton for that. Also, my son will be home. I haven't seen him since mid February, as he has been working in Fort McMurray, where the Oil sands are. He wasn't able to make it home for Easter - first time ever! He has a birthday on the 17 Apr and will be 34 years old:D He is my baby!
I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Joanne D

Hello Everybody...Joanne

03-25-2008, 05:24 AM
That would be a good idea to have them the same day!
I was awake at 3-I sleep really well and then Brad gets up and I have so much on my mind that it starts running around in my head. I will go back to bed but I got up and had my coffee, and prayed . I have to let everything go-I talked to Jessica and she is having a hard time-I think she is depressed-needs to get her insurance back so she can get her med and go back to counseling. Plus baby is not gaining enough so they changed his formula and put him on cereal. She doesn't drive so it makes her kind of helpless.
Picked up Evan's outfit and it's marked down so I will bring it back and get 5.50 off-too many people in line.
My toe is infected so I have been soaking it.
Never a dull moment lately,
Love to hear about your family Anne. Hi Tammy and Joanne and Meme. What a great idea to make the pillow. I am making the toasting glasses -all they are is wine glasses with a ribbon and heart-12 $ in Wally world. And those are the ones she likes/now she says Evan can just wear a pink tie. Off to Google it. Mima

Took Christie to vet today. She has a rash under on belly and legs. 102$ .I nearly had a fit. hubby went into shock for a while..She has a allergy or infection from ???and I have to take her back in a week!!!These high bred dogs are expensive..
Oh well I think I will go eat some icecream!!!Joanne
Mima
03-26-2008, 07:00 AM
They are all expensive-cassidy's rash was a $200 charge, I figured out that we save $50 a month not having him but at the time it was good and we were ok with it.
Suzanne ordered Evan's tie-good-I found Al's shoes in Target but the Target in Port Charlotte. I am going to call the manager today and ask him to put them aside-it;s not their policy because they are on sale-and we will go by there when we leave on Sat. And mail them, Not sure about stopping in Charlotte because our friend's Mom is ill.
But the best thing is Auntie went to doc and her blood is coming back. He still wants to do a bone marrow but he said she has no cancer. She was so relieved. I still feel sceptical because of the test he has to do but her blood is better,
Hi everyone, Mima
Tammy
03-28-2008, 12:07 AM
Joanne, how is Christie?? AND how was your ice cream??
Mima, I'm sure your aunt is very relieved about no cancer. Glad the blood is better. I pray you have a safe trip home!!
I'm helping out with an Emmaus Walk this weekend again. It's for men, so I am helping in the kitchen and the mail room. I was there from 3:30-9:00 today, and I am pooed out. Bob isn't feeling well, and I hate to go to bed. I know I need to take my nighttime medicine to help me relax and sleep, but I'm afraid to in case he gets bad and has to go to the hospital. I want him to call the doctor first thing in the morning, but he is soooooooooo stubborn!!
Mima
03-28-2008, 05:29 AM
Yes, men are stubborn about going to the doc-I pray he is ok.
We are so busy getting ready but i am going to lunch with gf and Grandma Sandy is bringing Evan over to try on his suit. I am a little nervous about my toe. Not sure it's healing and that I need an antibiotic. I went to the doc on Wed. and it's infected and I have a script-antibiotic cream.
I got Evan's bd present yesterday. It's 4/2 that he will be 4.
Be good-it's going to be upper 40's next week. That's better than 30's. Mima

Tammy- Christie's rash seems better but it has gone away before and come back.. She is getting a antibiotic now, Hopefully that will take care of the problem..Icecream is always good. I have to limit myself as my weight is creeping up.. and not good for the sugar although I do use no sugar added.Hope you can get Bob to Dr.
Mima- You should stay in Fl. It is supposed to be in the 80's this week if I saw the weather right..I need to get to Joann's fabric and get materials for the pillow.. I talked to the bride about it.. She is either dence or just young.. She hadn't even thought of a pillow.. Lord help them when they do get married.. They will need a lot of help..
Hello Happy and Meme-- Joanne

That's funny about the pillow.
Life is what's happening while you make other plans. Brad went to hitch up the traier and it's broken so he has to fix it before we leave. I only hope that we can get to a post office so we can mail the shoes. I will have to cancel our hotel tonight. Plus we were out of water yesterday-a pipe broke in the park. I was happy I had cleaned the refrigerator the day before. Had a nice lunch with my gf.
Cassidy kept getting the rash too. I kept sulfadine on hand to get it cleared before we had to take him to the vet, Walmart has it.
Hi everyone. Mima

Bob felt much better, so I didn't insist that he go to the doctor. Next time it happens though, he's going somewhere!!
Joanne, I do the sugar free ice cream most of the time too. Sometimes I have the real thing if I'm out somewhere.
Mima, I hope things worked out that you can get on the road and head home. I agree with Joanne though about staying in Florida. That's what I thought when we arrived home between an ice storm and a mini-blizzard. lol
Our pastor's son is in a choir where he goes to college. They are going to be at church this morning, and I'm looking forward to hearing them. Tim wanted to hear them also, but he has been on duty in the dorm all weekend, and his duty doesn't end till sometime later today.

Tammy- Since Mima told me about no sugar added icecream ,that is the only kind I buy.I found Edy's brand of triple chocalote. GOOOOD!
Men are stubborn about going to doctors.. Bob has been through a lot so he should be more willing to go. My hubby was the same until he nearly died and had to have a quad by pass. Now if he would just not fight going to a dentist..
Mima- The vet decided that Christie had a yeast infection and acne. He said young dogs get it the same as teenagers.. He gave me another antibiotic and shampoo to bathe her in..It will strip the advantage but maybe we will be lucky for the next 3 weeks..She gets the advantage about that time..Flies I don't want..

Good morning. We got home yesterday. Last SAt the trailer broke apart so we were late getting on the road and we are so grateful that it hppened before we left. Then we went to Pt Charlotte to get Al's shoes and UPS to mail them. Heard yesterday that they were perfect!!!
We only made it to lake City bit the next day we got to Charlotte and stayed at a friend's house. He made prime rib!!!
Left around noon and stayed in VA and then we made it to NY-then the fun began, We took a side road my bro told us about-missed an exit-wound up on another side road that disappered and took a half hour to find-finally got on 90 in NY -took an exit to go to a motel and went in the wrong direction. Wound up on another side road that was very foggy. Finally made it to the motel, Got home around 10:30 am the next day. That's why we are not going to drive any more-just next fall to take the car down and get a new one for here. I have so much stuff piled up in lr-that won't happen when we don't drive. It's cold-the tenant in't here and his heat keeps going on so Brad is going to shut it off-that's oil we paid for .
Today it will be 55-that will help but tomorrow it may snow.
Suzanne pulled an April Fool joke on me-said Jim had a fight with her and didn't want to get married. Everyone told her that was not nice, It sure got me.
Going to dollar store to getb the pink rocks, and some cards. Mima

Joanne, triple chocolate ice cream sounds wonderful!! Bob did go to the doctor yesterday. We are going to try to control the sugar with diet since he really hasn't been trying to follow anything faithfully. He is supposed to check his sugar several times a day and keep track of the results, and then he is to go back to the doctor in a few weeks. He also had some bloodwork done yesterday to get his results for the past 3 months. I can't think of the name of that test. His reading was 128 when he got up this morning. Mine was 109 which is higher than mine usually is in the morning. We ate Mexican last night, so I don't know it that makes a difference or not.
Mima, glad to hear from you!!!! The day we left Tampa, we only made it to Lake City before lots of nasty storms caused us to pull off for the night. Suzanne is such a stinker with the joke!!!!! Oh my!!!
Tim and his gf will be here this weekend, so I guess I need to straighten things up a bit. When he is gone, we use his room alot. I go in there to sit and read and do my Bible studies and watch tv. Need to get stuff out of there so the gf can use the room. Tim will sleep on the sofa. It will be good to see them. We saw them on Easter, but that seems like it was ages ago!
I went to the rheumatogist. She wants me taking the relafin twice a day now since I've been aching so much. Mainly hands and lower back. I signed up for a class at the Y that starts Monday. It is geared for all levels of fitness, and it is for overweight people, so I'm hoping that there aren't a bunch of skinny people in the class. I'll be starting water aerobics the week after that.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi-I got a lot done yesterday. Went to the dollar store to get the pink stones for the centerpiece but they weren't pink. Keep looking. But they have pew bows-2/1$. can't go wrong there. Brad hitched up the new hot water heater. Next the new propane heat system.
It's snowing!! Won't amount to much.
I am going to get a massage appt. Mima-Hi everyone. Great for water exercises, Tammy. Brad's sugar runs much higher than that,
Tammy
04-05-2008, 10:36 PM
Way to go on getting the pew bows so cheap!! I don't want any more snow!!
Tim and his gf made shish kabobs for supper. Yummy!!
Church in the morning, out for lunch, then home, then to a birthday/retirement party for a friend of ours. Should be fun.

Sounds good-all of it. I am going to Sunday school and then to a shower, Suzanne said she will be here when I get home to show me the gown etc. I am going to give her the bride's hoodie for her bd so she can wear it. It's so cute. Back to Walmart and the dollar store yesterday-stll forgot the Splenda-Altern as they call it in Wally World.
Our former pastor had 2 heart attacks. In his 50's. I feel so bad for his family too. Everyone have a good day=One of these days, Meme will be checking in. Oh yeah, my massage lady is going on vacation. I will go to chiropractor for a back treatment. Mima

I started a new class at the Y this morning. It involves some step aerobics, working with weights, boxing. It is set up for all different levels. It was a good workout.

Take it easy, Tammy. Stop before it hurts but it sure sounds like fun.
The shower was nice-the bruch great-of course, my choices were few but I managed some blueberry crisp-hope there weren't any seeds.
Jim has gone for training and the bride is having a hard time. The devil's in the details-Pastor didn't call-florist did and wants ibfo that Jim has -he has training from 6am to 10 pm. She;s hoping he gets home earlier than the 2 weeks. I know it will be hard for her when he's gone.
Got to the chiro-good-and dentist-only sensitivity in that tooth.
Up at 3:30 am-will have to nap before I go to a luncheon. Going to see teacher friends!!!
Hey, my gps wasn't broken-just needed to press button longer.
My bro told me to post the camper in canada on Craig's list. You should but it Anne-than I can meet you. He said they are more expensive there.
Bye for now-Mima-have fun Tammy.

I have to give Christie a bath 2 times a week with special shampoo for yeast infection. She is still on antibiotics so the yeast is going away easy..She hates the bath. It takes both of us to give it to her..That is a workout..The bathroom is about as wet as she is..as am I.
Tammy -good for you on your exercise program.. I could never do it. Walking is all I can manage..To much oa.
Mima- I bet you will be relieved when this wedding is over..Thank God ,I am only making the pillow for G/sons in June.Weddings are hard work and a lot of stress..

Good morning ladies. You all sound like you have been busy.
Mima - glad you enjoyed the shower. Yes, all vehicles are about 30% higher in Canada. Lots of Canadians go to the USA and bring back motorhomes. I'm sorry, Mima, but I just don't want one. Not a camper, never have been. I do hope you get it sold, however.
Tammy - like Joanne says, good for you on starting this program. I hope it works for you. It is always fun.
Joanne - that puppy sounds like a whole lot of work. I am glad he is yours :D Won't the antibiotics make the yeast worse?? It does in people.
I have been nursing a very bad hip for the past while. The weekend was NOT fun! I think it is weather related, as when it started to dry up, the pain subsided. I hate the ups and downs of Spring weather, as it always = PAIN for me. Once it settles down, it is wonderful.
Hope you all have a good day.

Hi everyone. The bride is missing her fiance because he is training in NJ, And there are so many last minute things, I am si gkad my niece is doing the shower. Thanks for the info about motorhomes, Anne.
Well just when we were going to give the tenant his notice, he said he was leaving next month and would not pay us for the oil, extra electricity etc. He lost his job-never told us that when he ran out of oil. We had to put his heat back on-in good conscience I could never not do that. And we did use a week's woth of oil heating our living room. It's kind of funny, he doesn't understand conservation or heat itself. Some of it is that he is used to celcius but he kept the thermostat on 65-even when he was not here. And he was gone a lot. He also said it was drafty-ok-put something there. And he leaves the shades down all the time so he doesn't get the delicious warmth from the sun, Especially now. I hope that tank of oil doesn't disappear before he does. We certainly do not want to buy anymore. It was a learning experience-we trusted someone before we knew we could trust him. We will change a lot of things before we rent it again.
I went to lunch with some teacher friends-one of them has kidney failure and is on the list for a transplant. And one of them was not there because she has Alzheimers. She's the same age as me-I went to college with her. Sad. But it sure was nice to see them.
It's going to be warm today. And tomorrow. And I am getting cut, frosted and have my eyebrows done.
How was the class, Tammy?
Dogs do not like a bath. I can relate to the water all over the place, Joanne.
Waking up early again. I need to walk everyday, Mima

Good morning Mima. Of course she misses him! If would be terrible if she DIDN'T  Will he be having to go to Iraq? I sure hope not. Hope the haircut turns out good. I had one last Thursday, along with a color. Feels so good. My hair is thick and grows so darn fast!
Now about that heat. Yes, we use celcius, but because I am old, I convert it back into Farenheit! I keep my thermostat at 21 degree or around 72F. We don't buy Oil for heating, we use natural gas, and perhaps this fellow is used to that as well. We pay a monthly bill for the gas we use, but we don't physically have to put it into the tank. It becomes something we just take for granted. I HATE to be cold, but even more, I hate the dampness because it makes me hurt. I, also, don't like the heat in the floor, because it makes all my joints hurt.
Today, is an ugly kind of day, so far. It is so foggy out. Of course, it isn't even 9:00 a.m. so it will probably burn off in a bit.
Enjoy the day, ladies.

Happy- Christie had the yeast infection before I started her on antibiotics.. She also had what the vet said was acne..He said small dogs get it just like teenagers.. He gave me a shampoo to bathe her 2 times a week..for the yeast. I know it won't go away untill the antiobotics are done.. If not then ,back to the vet..This dog has been a big expense.
Mima- With renters ,I guess you win some and lose some. My son had four rental properties.. He got rid of them.. Too much trouble and stress. One even made a pot grow house out of a nice house he had..When he found out he called the cops. Guess what ,They did nothing..He finally got rid of the whole mess. I don't think I sleep more than an hour each night that I am not awake.. I am in the B/r almost every hour. The Dr. said it was my diabeties causing it.No fun. I seem to be always tired.
Hey Tammy.. How is the exercise going. My G/son told me he and his g/friend are starting nurtrusystem today. I hope something workks. They are both very overweight.I worry about the G/son. His parents are very upset he has let himself get into this weight problem..

Yep ... you-all know I always lock myself away with my 'books' at this time of year, took me 3 weeks but I got them done and to the CPA. He asked us last year if we could get them in a little earlier this year ... bless his heart. We dumped them on him at the last possible minute last year. I picked them up today. We only owe $489. Yippee!!! Then, Mon. hubby's mom (87 yr. old) was outside sawing on a tree limb of all things and passed out. His dad got her over to the riding mower and was holding her there when a man passed by and saw them & stopped to help. They called 911 and got an ambulance. I'm right down the road but he didn't think to call me until he was at the hospital. He said he panicked and couldn't think of anything. They kept her overnight but didn't find anything. Dr. said she probably just overexerted herself. His dad will be 90 this Sun. We are having a surprise BD party/cookout here ... 18 people. I have let everything go, working on the books ... now it's reckoning time! I had the week planned out, a room a day. Then I had to spend Mon. at the hospital and most of today in town getting BD supplies and taking the dog so now I'm 2 days behind. One good thing came of his mom's little episode, it has 'scared' them into using the cell phone we bought them for Christmas. They had been leaving it turned off and in the house except when they wanted to make a long distance call. Now they SAY they are going to start taking it with them outside and when they go anywhere. I hope they mean it ... I worry about them. Three weeks ago she was out picking up cans out of the ditch and fell by the road and couldn't get up. A man was driving by and stopped and helped her. She could have fallen into the road and been hit. She's like a kid, doesn't think and very reckless. Doesn't listen, either. She's going to do what she wants to do.
I haven't caught up on what you all have been writing. I did see where Joanne has to give Christie a bath twice a week. If I had to bathe Ginger that often it would kill me. It takes forever to dry her hair. I took her to the groomer today ... FIFTY dollars. Can't afford that too often. Have you taught her any tricks yet? I taught Ginger to sit and I'm working on 'dead'. She almost has it.
Mima, how close is the wedding now? I've lost track.
And I read that Tammy is taking an exercise class. You go girl. As soon as this party is over, I'm going to start doing something. Probably walking first. Then I'll add something else if that goes ok. I'm going to go slow. I can't wait to get outside. We bought another patio set. We can sit 14 on our deck now so I want to do some entertaining this summer. We have lots of family and even more friends. I'm feeling better so it should be a fun summer now that hubby is on days.
And Anne ... you're not OLD! Where did THAT come from??? ;)
Did I miss anything important on one of the other pages? One of you didn't have a baby or anything while I was away did you? :p
Mima

So good to hear fro, you Meme.
The wedding is April 26 and the shower is this Sunday.
I keep waking up at 3:30. started walking again and am doing WW, I know it's different than it used to be, I only ate 2 cookies yesterday and 7 mini rice cakes for sugar. I did have some pasta. The point is I think I don't hurt as much.
My hair came out great, The guest list came out to 142 and 7 are children. I tod Suzanne I would pay for 150 so she will have some extra money to put toward expenses or save it.
We owe over 2000. I am glad Brad is going to work when he gets his insurance. They are giving him a hard time.
We are getting our propane hooked up today.
Anne-if we kept our thermostat at 72. we would go broke. Heating oil is almost 4 a gallon. We keep it at 65. But today it's going to be very warm. But the get cooler again.
Gotta do bookwork today. Auntie is getting a bone marrow test today. Sure hope they start treating her anemia-she is getting weaker and weaker. I am not happy with the way they are doing things. But who am I?
How were the exercises Tammy? Bye Mima
Tammy

The aerobics class that I'm doing is fun. I am doing it at my own pace. She has a part where she is doing deep squats, I barely bend my knees on that one. She encourages everyone to work at his or her own level. It's a good thing because there are times that I can't keep up with everyone. I'll be starting water aerobics next week. The aerobics class was set up for people with 25 or more pounds to lose. They did a fitness assessment last week, and we will do it again the end of June. Hopefully I will have made some improvement!!
Joanne, I chuckled about giving Christie the bath. I don't know if Kramer liked them or not, but he usually just stood there and let us soap him down and rinse him off. Oh, he did drink the water sometimes. lol I just received a brochure in the mail from Nutrisystem. I think I'll keep trying on my own while I'm doing these classes. Trying to help Bob eat healthier is making me more conscious too.
Anne, I agree about the weather and the pain. I can tell that it has been raining tonight, and it's supposed to continue for the next few days. My hair grew so fast when we were in Georgia. I didn't expect to get it cut so quickly when we were there.
Mima, I can't believe the guy you rented to! What a twit! Glad you were able to have lunch with your friends.
Meme, good to hear from you!! How scary for your inlaws! I do hope they use that phone. Hey, your deck sounds big enough to hold all of us!!!! Woo hoo!! Party!!!! I plan to be doing walking on the days that I don't have class. I need to get Bob out of the house, so maybe we can start walking when the weather is warmer for him. He still chills so easily. LOL No babies from me!!! I started TOM over the weekend. That's the first one since the beginning of December. I thought for sure that it was menopause. I was bummed when I started getting cramps. Too much information??
I volunteered answering phones yesterday, today, and tomorrow morning at the Christian radio station again for their fundraiser. I enjoy myself while doing it. Gave blood today. I was rejected in March and another time in April because my iron level was too low. I've been taking Iron supplements and eating food with iron in it, so today I was able to give.
Behave everyone!!

Hi all, So glad you like the class Tammy. My hair grew like weeds in FL and also would go staright after I curled it so I got a perm, Now it's fine.
Suzanne sent me pics of her gown-she has to have it altered and it was too tight before. It is gorgeous.
Got the almost final count. Jessica went to live with her mother. I haven't been able to talk to her, I think all her money wound up in a joint checking acct.
I can't sleep beyond 3:30/ too much stress and I can't do anything about anything. Glad we are going to Bible study tonight, Talked to Angela and she is still home-due next week.
Bye for now-Mima
Tammy
04-11-2008, 11:53 PM
Mima, glad my hair isn't the only one that grows fast when in the south! I used to get perms all the time, but I haven't had one for a while. I am keeping it pretty short now, and I'm liking it much better. I've had trouble sleeping too. I might be getting 3-4 hours a night. Not sure why.
The radio station didn't meet their goal, so they are doing another day of fundraising on Tuesday. I need to give them a call and see if they want me to come over and answer phones.
Tomorrow one of the women's groups at church is having a tea. One of my friends invited me to sit with her and her daughters. I'm sure we'll have a good time.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Mima

Going to a tea is fun!! We had a really nice one at chirch in FL.
I was praying the serenity prayer this am-I also can't sleep.
Our neighbor has lung cancer and needs to find out if they can do surgery. She decided to stay in FL-doesn't trust the docs back home-one had given her the wrong test, Auntie had the bone marrow test but won't know for at least 10 days,
Our Bible study was on empathy-really good and nice to get back to the group. So many prayer needs. I will have them here on 5/9.
Mike will be here next Sat, night, I worked hard yesterday-lots of energy from not eating all the time!!! I lost 2 lbs but wasn't good last night.
Raining hard but next week will be better,
I think I will get my nails done for the shower tomorrow,
How's the weather in Canada? Hi Joanne, Meme, Anne and Tammy. Mima
Tammy
04-12-2008, 05:54 PM
Mima, the tea was really fun! Each hostess had her table decorated in a certain theme. My hostess lives on a dairy farm. Our theme was cows. We all wore jeans, and we were probably the most comfortable women there. There was a special table for pre-school girls and one for the elementary girls. All of those girls got to go upstairs and be "decked out" by some beauticians from the area and the junior high girls. They had their hair done up with ribbons, feather boas, crowns, etc. Then they came back down and did a fashion show. It was adorable!
Good for you on losing 2 pounds. I weighed this morning, and I am the same! It thought with doing the classes and really watching, I would have lost a pound, but no deal.
Joanne D
04-12-2008, 08:10 PM
Tammy- The only way I can lose is by measuring and weighing about every bite I put in my mouth. I have been doing the 123 WW point system for the past couple weeks. I lost 3 3/4 lbs last week. We will see how this week goes..I am only walking 20-30 min. a day. that isn't enough..I need motivation to do more.. Keep up the trying. You will see results.
Christie is starting to tolerate her bath. Just giving it 2 times a week is hard . After we finish the antibiotics and then get rid of the yeast infection we will not have to do that but maybe once or twice a month.
Mima- I am working on the pillow for the G/Sons wedding/ The beading is taking forever..
Meme- Teaching Christie tricks is not on the agenda. First I have to get her to stop pulling my arm out of joint when she sees a person on a bike, big trucks, motor bike etc.Otherwise she is a nice dog.I am 75 and I won't saw a tree limb.. I do what I can. My hubby is not able to do much .Now and then he will start the mower to do the front yard. That takes him 2 days. Anyone else can do it in 30 min. He won't let me hire anyone as the last person almost scraped all the grass off the yard. Cut too short. The back has only been cut once this year..I could do it but he won't start the mower for me.. I just as well give up. HE IS GREEK!!!
Happy- Yes the antibiotics does make the yeast worse. Right now we are just trying to control it.. It doesn't seem to bother her as much as it does me.. It will be back to the vet if after the antibiotics are done and it doesn't go away.
Mima
04-13-2008, 06:06 AM
Good morning. Fun about Christie-Not!!! Hope she is better soon, Had my nails done in a new place and she didn't have any dryer-just sprayed them so of course I hit one of them, Went for a walk before I drove home-won't go back there again.
Today is the shower, Suzanne got a trial hairdo yesterday and said it was awesome. But she washed it out because she doesn't want anyone to see it. Mike and his family will be here next Sat night. We will sleep in the camper. And the weather should coperate. It's getting warmer.
Can't go to church so I can watch the FL one on the net, and the tonight is Singspiration at church-love that. Bye for now Mima

Good morning Did you get your taxes done Meme? Suzanne's shower was very nice -lots of people cancelled but it was more intimate. And she got some lovely things-on to the countdown.
Mike will be here Sat night til Wed. Brad is putting in a shower-no more cimbing in and out of the tub and it will be great for Al. Borrowing a chair from Brad's aunt.
Rheumo today and Massage yesterday, I sure wish I could find something that would keep my back ok, Physical therapy. ?? I had a relaxation tape where you tightened your muscles-that sure helps but it broke. I sa one but not sure unless I hear it.

Good morning Mima.
Glad the shower went ok, and next the big day! Not far away now.
A shower will be nice. I LOVE a bath, but it causes me way to much fatigue, so I stick to a quick shower (not too hot). Try to do that exercise on your own. Lay in a quiet place, flex each muscle from your toes up. It is a Yoga exercise, and it really does work. Visualize yourself somewhere peaceful. I hope you find the answer for your back.
Tammy - good for you getting into exercise. You may not show a weight loss, because muscle weighs more than fat, as you know. Just keep it up. Teas are such fun. When I was a kid, we would go to the Strawberry Tea at our Church. 3 of us girls would empty the sugar bowl (sugar cubes) and get a refill. We had such fun, but our Moms used to give us heck about the sugar.
Joanne - this little dog seems to be a lot of work. They are good company but lots of trouble in between. They are like little children, then teenagers.
Meme - nice to know you are still around, just being your busy self.
Ladies, my hair LOVES humidity. It is thick and when it is humid, it behaves wonderfully. Also, living in Alberta, I have dry skin, and as soon as I get somewhere humid, my skin is perfect. No cream necessary. It is the REST of my body that doesn't like humidity and it causes me great pain. So, I guess I am stuck with the dry air, but less pain. I have to pay $66.00 in taxes - not too bad. This is because I do not pay taxes when I receive my Canada Pension. I paid enough at work to cover most of it, and when I am NOT working it won't be an issue. Hubby got lots back, so that was good.
Working 3 days this week - 3 very busy days!
Hope you all have a good day.
Tammy

Mima, will you be posting pictures of the wedding?? Sure hope so. I'm with you about the back. Mine has been feeling pretty good until part way through the class on Monday.
Anne, I have a Yoga cd, but I have never tried it. Maybe it's time. LOL to the sugar cubes!!! I used to like those too!
I am going to be serving on another Emmaus Team! It starts April 24 and ends the 27th. One of the team members pulled out, and my pastor asked me on Sunday morning. I have to give a talk this time, but it is a talk that I gave a few years ago. I am so glad that I didn't have to write a new one that quickly. I changed a few things in this one (A Life in Piety), and it is good to go!!

Hi ladies-I will post a wedding pic or 2. We have a new grandchild-Rebekah Lynn-she is so beautiful. 7:13. Glad the hospital is close by=although I guess she will be going home today.
I lost 3 lbs-It's nice knowing there is an end to this but I can't go back to eating so much sugar.
No news from the tenant-our fear is that he is using his electric heater which we asked that he put in the garage, He will run out of oil and we are not putting anymore in.
We have a shower but it's in the whirlpool bath tub and lousy.
Went to doc and showed him my xrays-he wants a copy of the MRI which they will send. He's sending me to a doc who will see if I need something in my shoes to help my back, He says I have spurs on my spine-maybe surgery, I wouldn't mind that=better than living with my back pain-no wonder I can't get releif. I had a tape with that tensing and releasing but I wore it out, Loved to hear my former yoga teacher's soothing voice.
It's going to be warm the rest of the week. Mimahave fun at work, Anne-boy you are busy Tammy and Joanne-all of you-hey Meme!!!!
Tammy
04-16-2008, 11:13 PM
Mima, good for you on the 3 pounds!! I would say those spurs would be causing the problem. It would be nice to have that taken care of.
Today after the aerobics class the instructor took anyone who wanted to do it to her office to weigh. I thought I'd do it. I was up 2 pounds from where I was 2 weeks ago when I did the original weigh in! I was bummed. I have been journaling everything, and I've stayed within the calorie limits that she set for me. She told me not to worry because she is sure that I'm toning up, and the weight will start dropping. I sure hope so!!
Mima
04-17-2008, 07:00 AM
If you are doing all that exercise. it must be muscle.I agree that you are toning. All I have been doing is walking-I miss the flat surfaces in FL. But the weather has been beautiful.
Wow-the tenant is packing. The boxes are missing from the garage. I hope it's not the weekend we are gone so we can be sure of what he takes. He hasn't pd for the stove and frig totally. We don't want him to take them. We need a guard posted.
I ordered a tape for relaxation from Amazon, My back hasn't been too bad.
Mike will arrive Sat night. Not 100% sure of the sleeping arrangements, Brad thinks it's too cold in the camper but I don't . We have heat in there.
Got the pew bows yesterday at the Dollar Store-44 of them!! What a deal-2/1.
Hope your washing the dog is coming to an end, Joanne, Hi Meme, Anne I know you are working. I hope I can work in May, My stash is getting low. Mima

Mima- I wish the washing of the dog was coming to an end. Yesterday the yeast rash seemed worse. We have 4 more days of antibiotics and then if it doesn't go away back to the vet. This has been so expensive.. So far almost 300 dollars.
Tammy- I journal every day too.. I shot myself in the foot the other day.. You know those Keebler cookies on TV with all the choc. well I ate 5 then I looked at the cal count. Almost 500 cal.!!!!If the scale gives me 1/2 lb tonight I will be surprised.I told the hubby we won't buy those again..Eleni calls me skinny well it won't be for long at this pace.. Skinny I'm not ,just trying to be..When I was young 120 was fat to me..
It has been cool here the past few days. It is supposed to warm up today. I am wearing a sweater. The hubby turned off the heat because someone said it was going to warm up..My toes are icecubes..
Meme- Happy, Hello.

Hi-We have had some beautiful weather. And some more to come. We will try to sleep in our camper because we run out of beds here. It's only for 4 nights. They are in NY and Mike and Al went to the ballgame last night and Al and her mom will go see Rent. She is such a Broadway girl, Evan said there were ducks-they were actually pigeons. he's a Florida boy.
Oh that vet bill. Hope it's over for you soon.
The bride is exhausted. They have so much to do. Today Jim has to do a 10 mile hike carrying 50 lbs. I guess he is exhausted but at least he's home and today is his last day of training. God bless our soldiers..
I may take a ride to Angela's with some soup. Maybe I can help a little?? Brett took vacation days.
We did a big shopping last night. Gotta put it away, Bye for now. Mima

Joanne, journaling has really helped me see what I'm eating. I made a pie today. Really hard to do. I bought a shortbread crust, made sugar-free, fat-free lemon pudding to put in it, and I bought sugar free cool-whip. Bob thought it was great! Then I told him that everything but the crust was sugar free. He was impressed. I'll get him changed over yet! Those Keebler cookies do sound good though!! I agree with Eleni!! You look great! Just stay out of those cookies. lol
Mima, isn't it nice getting those bargains?? It has been beautiful here today. Up to 76 and sunshine!! We did feel the earthquake that happened in Illinois this morning. I thought Bob was getting out of bed because it was moving, but he didn't know what it was either. Later in the morning there must have been some aftershocks because we felt it again while I was standing in the kitchen.
Tim and I met partway for both of us and had lunch yesterday. We had talked on the phone several times, but we wanted to chat in person. He's having some concerns about being an RA again next year, thinking about his internship in 1 1/2 years, girlfriend (they are so cute together!!), talked about our trip to Disney that's coming up, and lots of other things. He and Bob can talk about some things, but then there are things that he is more comfortable talking about with me.

Sounds like the relationship I have with my older son-we were alone for many years. Yeah for those sugar free pies. I am going to ,make one with chocolate.
The sleeping arrangements are going to be tricky for 2 nights. Hope it's not too cold in the camper.
Latest wedding challenge-seating. I have to figure out tables of 10. One thing I realized was that the number of people cannot be divide equally and Sue and Jim divided theirs equally so I am left with the uneven number.have to work with that.
PTL-Josh says he will be out by the end of the month. He's gone on a business trip. We get along fine as long as we let go of the money aspect, All we can do is to be wiser next time. With the cost of oil, it's hard to figure out the rent. We have until June-Brad wants to do a couple of things before we rent out again-after the wedding.
Going to be gorgeous here again. We are taking Brad's brither and wife out for Chines-he came to the house a lot while we were gone. I need to be careful. Fruit!!!!
Bye for now-going to try to put a round peg into a square hole-the seating. Mima

Tammy- I want to lose another 8-10 lbs.. It is hard when you get down to my weight.. I seem to stay where I am no matter what I do..I need to do more walking but it is hard . my knee has bewen bothering me , I go for a xray monday and then the Dr. will inject it again.. I hate those injections . They make me feel awful for several days and retain fluid. So the weight goes up!!!I make pies on holidays. I will be doing that next week as it is Greek Easter nxt sunday..There will be 8 of us if our son decides to come.Lots of cooking. Eleni is making the salad..
Mima- Stars for you on planning a wedding..I hope to never have to do that again..I went and rented some cots once when I didn't have enough beds for company. It worked out fine..
Hello everybody .. Joanne

Mima, my hubby worked 2nd shift from the time Tim was born until he was in high school, so we had many evenings and lots of weekends when it was just us. I was his scout leader, one of his ball coaches, and whatever else was necessary. Bob mentioned that a strawberry pie sounded good, so I'll have to do some searching for a sugar free recipe for that. Good luck getting the people seated at the tables!!
Joanne, 8-10 pounds is ok then. I thought you looked great!! I haven't had any knee injections since last spring. The left one is bothering me again, but I'm putting it off as long as I can. All the exercise probably isn't doing it much good. Maybe I'll stop in for Greek Easter!! Wish I could!

Good morning. Glad to hear that you guys are having nice warm weather. We are having a blizzard! It started snowing on Friday morning, and does so intermittently throughout the day, since then. Today, the wind is howling and blowing all that snow every which way. Glad I can stay snuggled up at home. Apparently, not much warm weather in the days ahead - up tothe end of the month. This darn weather has brought on an FM flare. Between FM and OA, I am hurting in every inch of my body. I just need to wait for this weather system to pass, and then the pain will settle down.
Mima - not much longer until the wedding. There are always a few last minute things to do. I remember my hubby's dad, putting oil into the furnace in Denmark. Had NEVER seen that before, as we all have natural gas here, so we never run out - UNLESS you don't pay your bills, which isn't a good thing in the dead of winter
Tammy - my son and I were close as well. Still are. He talks to me about almost everything. If something is bothering him, it's Mom her wants!
Joanne - Greek Easter is this coming weekend, then? Preparations for any holiday are always lots of work. That poor dog and poor you. Over one thing and on to another. I hope the fleas don't do to much damage to him.
Well, I am off to lay on the heating pad, and read my book. Sound like a nice lazy day? Well, it is!
Tammy
04-22-2008, 10:32 PM
Joanne, hope you don't have much trouble with the fleas. We had that problem once with Kramer when we first got him, but never had a problem after that.
Mima, I remember driving Bob and his brother around in a golf cart. I had so much fun!! lol
Anne, a blizzard!!!!!!! Oh my!!! I sure hope we are finished with the snow for the year. Your heating pad and book sound great, but I'm sorry that you're in pain. Feel better soon!!
My classes are going well. I'm still modifying the morning class to fit me. I'm still getting a good workout though. I can tell a difference in my clothes even though it isn't showing up on the scales.

Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so gorgeous here-still watching the 26th. Birthday at noon-gotta get a balloon, cake and candles at 11-chiro after to fix me up for a few days.
Mike's leaving at 11..
Have a good Easter-Joanne-bet the food is deliscious.
Nice going on the exercises. I should join the health club at the hotel so I could swim.
Bye for now-Mima

Well-Happy Birthday ahead of time-what's your date?
We were all at the restaurant at noon but I was in the booth and they were sitting in another room looking for me. I finally got up to walk around and look and found them.
Company gone -didn't realize how tired I got. And now I am wheezy-I ate a tiny piece of cake-back to the inhalers.
I am going to skin doc for a checkup-i would have cancelled but hard to get an appt.
2 people are going to cancel because their son is ill-I know it's normal but I hope there aren't too many. Things happen.
Won't you be glad when I can talk about something else. i probably will go into a funk after this.

Joanne ... if you shot yourself in the foot, I must've shot myself in the head!!! Daughter gave me an hour massage yesterday so I took her to lunch. We went to Cheddars and I got the pot pie. Had a salad first, off to a good start because I love the croissants but I cut mine in half and shared it with her then only ate about 2/3 of the pot pie. But ... Then she wanted a piece of choc. fudge cake. If you've ever eaten at cheddars you know their choc. fudge cake is huge (and has ice cream). We split a piece but it was still way more than I should have had. Then last night was our best friend's Ann. so I got a 1/2 sheet cake for them and we took it to Cracker Barrel after church where 40 of our friends met to 'surprise' them with it and I also had a piece of that. I only had a 1/2 salad though. Still gained weight this morning. Then this morning, I had a late breakfast with 2 friends at IHOP and got an omelette. It was huge and they also brought me a triple stack of buttermilk pancakes ... which I couldn't resist. I ate 1/2 the omelette and 1/2 the pancakes. We just kept sitting there talking and talking and talking. I kept picking and picking until I looked down and 1/2 the food was gone. I finally picked up the pancake plate a smooshed it down into the omelette and picked up the hotsauce and poured it all over th pancakes. They looked at me and said 'what did you do that for'. I said 'because I'm not eating any more of that stuff'. Then I got groceries and my daughter brought me her kids for the afternoon because school was out. I brought them home and Jenna wanted to make brownies. OH BOY. Well ... I had to have one. Oh, woe is me. Tomorrow night ... hubby and some other men (friends) are going to a conference. So ... it's girls night out for the wives. We are going to Logan's Steak House and then over to my friends house to play games. (And probably EAT some more.) Never ends. I have got to do something. Anybody got a muzzle?
TAMMY ... Happy BD next week in case I don't get back or I forget to tell you, since you'll be gone. Hope you have a good one and a good trip. I know you'll enjoy yourself. That's great about your Emmaus Walk and your weight loss. Keep up the walking and exercise. I'm going to try to do some more of that myself since I'm feeling a little better. It's getting warmer here. I'm really liking that. I've had my hands full lately but hoping that thing will start slowing down for me.
Sounds like everybody is busy, as usual. I guess that's a good thing. Shows we're not ready to give up, lay down and die! :p Anne ... have you thawed out yet? It was so warm here today, I was outside with a customer and I was actually hot! We have the airconditioner on. Joanne, hope the meds work for Christie. That sounds like a lot of work. So does that wedding. Mima, you've been working on that for months! Joanne, did you find a Strawberry Pie Recipe? Here's an easy one you might like.

Thanks for the good laugh Meme. we/ve all been there. And tammy-have a nice time-you will. Al's bd is may 9. My stepson Brett is today.
Suzanne is the one who has done all the work-I've only done small things. But I have everything on my little brain. But it's awesome . I believe that you should really get involved in things-be really present to the moment. And I have been waiting for this moment. I waited for a daughter for 16 years-wouldn't trade my sons for anything. Then God gave me the desires of my heart,
Nails at 8:15. Went to skin doc for check-up and asked to have a wart removed-probably have had it for 40 years but I never had a skin doc before. So her PA is treating it,
It's going to be cooler tomorrow. But not rainy. We have rehearsal at 4 and then out to eat-men are going to Foxwoods for a bachelor party, We are staying at a Band B and the lady is so nice, We have one room and Suzanne has the other for her party to get dressed, And for pictures. i need tissues.

Meme- If I ate all that ,I would gain 5-10 lbs.. I have to do something. I was up a lb at Tops yesterday.. More exercise is one of the things. At 75 I am getting lazy ,I guess. This weekend is Greek Easter. I am doing most of the cooking. Eleni is bringing the salad.. I couldn't seem to get in touch with my D/i/law so who knows there. They are real busy..A return call would have been nice.I know I will eat too much again..I will try to stay away from the carbs.I found a recipe for pineapple pie on the net.. My hubby loves it.. I don't eat it.. I like fresh pineapple though.Other than lemon pie I usually buy.
Mima- Good luck with the wedding. I know it will be nice..It was in the late 80's here yesterday. 88% It is going to be a hot summer.I have never been to a skin doctor either..I should go so my daughter tells me.
Tammy- Hope you had fun at your walk.In case the date slips by me Happy Birthday..
Christy still has a little rash (yeast). I will give her another bath on sat..I am really tired of this..It takes both of us to give her the bath.. She has settled down some but still doesn't like it..
Hello Happy..We really have not had cold weather down here. The bugs are going to be out in full force. The grasshoppers are hatching. The hubby just can't kill them all. They eat just about everything including the paint on the walls of the house. When they mature the only thing that does the job is a big foot..
Have a good weekend everybody.

So far so good. I've had a Boost, 2 pieces of raisin toast with a little peanut butter and just made myself a cup of green tea and it's 2:30. I think that's all I'm going to have until 6 when we go to Logan's. I've about decided to get one of their chicken salads with dressing on the side (if I go ... I've been running a slight temp and have a headache but it may just be the fibro/arthritis stuff, it causes me to run a temp and feel bad ... it's supposed to rain all weekend + I've been getting headaches from the glaucoma again, who knows). I really need to take off 10 - 15 pounds because of my knees and ankles. I wear a 12 right now and look fine but I'm not feeling fine having to carry around the extra weight. Everyone scolds me if I say I need to lose weight but they're not looking at it like I am.
Well, gotta go do some more wash, it's never done, then have to get to the bank before it closes on me. Have a good weekend, ladies, if I don't get back in here. AND WISH ME LUCK ON KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT THIS WEEKEND OF NEVER CEASING TO EAT OUT!!! (Sunday is Grandson # 1's 13th BD so ....... yet another celebration!) OH JOY!

Greek Easter is over and I am tired..I did pretty good with my eating. I wear a size 12 too. I sure want to get back to a 10..It isn't going to happen if I keep eating icecream and pie..but I made them so I felt I was due.. Now I won't touch any more..Lots of cooking for the past couple days. I sent home food with Eleni and our son and his wife..At least I won't have to cook for a few days.
Hot down here. We are hopeing for rain tomorrow.. HOPEING! (Spelling)Too tired to make sure..
A lot going on outside.Firecrackers going off since midnight and people having parties.A lot of Greek people in this town..Christie having a fit all day.I can't wait for bedtime..

Lot's of celebrating over the weekend. Lot's of eating. I managed with a taco salad at lunch then went to friend's house and had cheesecake. Tonight went to friend's house and had taco bake among other things and a choc. chip cookie. Not a whole lot but more than I had planned on eating. (Mexican all day) My best friend and I are going to try the 'egg' protein diet tomorrow. I lost 12 pounds for a wedding doing that... hopefully it will work again. Gotta go to bed now ... I'm exhausted. Haven't stopped all day and it has been a very long day, 19 hrs. on less than 5 hrs. sleep! Happy Monday ... I'm hoping it will still be raining in the morning so I can sleep late. :p

Good morning and back to reality. Quite a busy weekend. The wedding ceremony was lovely. Suzanne was gorgeous. And with everyone in uniform-it was nice. The flower girl tols her Mom she wasn't going down the aisle-Evan just looked at her. He was so happy to be dressed in his outfit and was so serios walking. She finally joined him. The aisle in that old church were so narrow-my boys had to walk ahead of Suzanne -they met up front and Mike strated to trip when he kissed Suzanne. I had to get some flats to walk up the steps to kight a candle but changed into my heels/
We stayed for pics=Jessica and Kevin came in after the ceremony but at least they made it.
Going alomg with nothing is perfect , the biggest glitch was that it took so much time for everything once we got to the reception. And feeling responsible for the guests put a cloud over some things. The dj has a philosophy about making things personable so it was time consuming. But here are some highlights-
The bride wore a plastic bag and goggles because she though Jim was going to get her with the cake-he didn't and it was nice
Evan started dancing with the Hokey Pokey and never stopped -too funny. He was in the middle of everything. And people were so accomodating of him.
Sue and Jim had practiced their first dance so it was cute-Jim's dance with his daughter was touching.
The garter thing was funny-under Sue's chair was a whole bunch of stuff that Jim pulled out-including a lamp, umbrella, and rubber chicken . Finally the garter. They didn't do anything with that.
A very touchimg thing was when Jim's Mom and I sat in chairs and Jim read a letter to me about Suzanne and She read one to Jim's mom and we were presented with gorgeous bouquets.
It was so wonderful to be with my family and Bobby with his gf-we love her. She is such a great addition to us. Hope it works out.
Well now it's recovery time. They are going to Niagara Falls for the weekend-not sure when his orders will come.
And Jim has a brother who is a Christian -sure would like to know him better.
My body is sore, my stomache hurts, and the weather is back to very cool. But it was a nice wekend-I am sure in time we will laugh about some of the things that happened.
I feel fat-gotta get back on a diet, Teeth cleaning today. Mima

Meme, I had a mini-massage on my lower back at the Emmaus Walk over the weekend. One of the women who was there saw that I was hurting, and it felt soooooooooooooo good! I have to admit that I was getting hungry reading all of the foods that you mentioned!!!! It has been pretty nice here too. We did get rain today and it was cooler. Tomorrow morning we are supposed to be back in the 30's! What is the egg protein diet????
Joanne, I wish I would have been there for some Greek food! I wear a size 10 too! (my shoes!!)
Mima, I'm glad the wedding was nice. Those uniforms always add a special touch, don't they? How cool about the bouquets!!!
My Emmaus weekend was awesome as usual. One of the women at my table was a real challenge for my assistant and me, but the other 2 with us were wonderful.

Mima- What a pretty bride! Now you can rest..
Tammy- The greek food is going straight to the hips.. I guess it will take awhile to get to size 10..I hate the scale..
I have ingrown toe and boy does it hurt. I tried to dig it out. I went to a podiatrist for it last year and the only help was 'you should only cut nails straight across. ' Well I know that but that doesn't help when it keeps growing in.
Hello everybody..got to go Christie getting into trouble...Joanne

Joanne. my toenail ingrows-the mail is thick . Soak it in Epsom salts. But if it's infected you need to go to the podiatrist, I keep mine cut down on the side but I also need to see the podiatrist,
Josh is back-wonder when he's going to move. I will need to clean in there before we can show it.
I need warm weather-the 50's doesn't do it. Brad says he will never come home in April-he is working outside . I do need to walk today.
Auntie's bone marrow is not producing red blood cells-she needs transfusions. Hasn't gotten one yet and she is so weak.
Bye for now Mima
