Wow. Honestly, it took my breath away. Seriously, though, it looks like you dropped twice that much.

Oh wow Lyn! I tried to post on your blog but needed an account. Anyway I just wanted you to know how amazing you look! Your waist is just whittled away! What a difference - you must feel amazing too! Your whole body has just shrunken! I bet if your head was in that shot we'd have seen a huge grin too  Good on you! Keep up the good work and thanks for inspiring all of us losers!

:cp: Wow!!
You look fabulous! It really looks like you lost a lot more weight than 40lbs.

:lol3: about "carrying the weight well." I hear that a lot myself and laugh everytime. How does anyone really carry 270+ well?!?!

Congratulations! :cheer2:

Lyn, you look so good! What great motivation to keep going. Congrats girl!

Just curious, how long did it take?

03-09-2008, 08:35 PM
Lois, I started in August, so it took about 7 months. I did not lose any weight in December or January, but just kept plugging along.

I laughed out loud when I read "I think I can see a difference"

Not laughing at you, I know the feeling VERY well...not being able to see the differences in yourself.

It is PLAINLY obvious that you've lost a whole lot, and if I didn't know the number, I would guess about 75!

You look gorgeous...and I'd love to see you with a head next time

Wow that is awesome. You sure don't look like you weigh 238. :bravo:

03-10-2008, 11:30 AM
Wow! Lyn, your forty pound loss has really changed your body! What workouts are you doing? I'd love to lose those kind of inches. You look awesome!

03-10-2008, 12:37 PM

Funny thing is I am very limited on my workouts. My knees are shot, so I have to follow the ortho surgeon's directions. (I am putting off surgery right now for awhile).

I have a recumbent exercise bike and I started at 5 minutes on 0 resistance, 3x a week. It was HARD. I added 1-2 minutes a week. Now I am up to 16 minutes on 2-3 resistance, 3x a week. I can't go any higher on resistance (dr's orders) but I will work up to 30 minutes. That's all I am doing right now. I was going to add in some weights but I hurt my shoulder so I will add them in later when it heals.

Your pictures look great!! I exercised for years even when I was obese. That is what shot my knees as well. I was hiking in the mountains at a weight of 242 lbs. My Mom told me I would have a heart attack but I did it anyway!

You have just shown the rest of us the wonders of working out!

Great job and thanks for the visual aid. Now, what are the rest of us waiting for? If Lynn can do it, so can we!!

Woo hoo! Go Lyn!

I am following your blog, as our stats are very similar. Height, weight, age etc. It's nice to compare with a fellow dieter who is in a similar situation.

I like your pic with the caption "278 on someone who wears it well." I get that all the time. At 5'9" no one believes I weigh what I do. I don't like discussing my weight with my friends (all slim, the b!tches). I did finally admit to one of them that I had to lose 100lbs and her jaw nearly hit the floor, she said she never would have guessed I weighed over 200. Um, that's good... I think. I don't "look" as fat as the scales say. Damn you scales! I'm really 190!

Maybe she was just being polite. I dunno.

Anyways... you are looking good! Keep it up!

03-12-2008, 07:11 AM
Wonderful...you look terrific! Yes, I can see the difference. Go girl go!!

03-12-2008, 07:40 AM
Lyn - you look super fantabulous!!! And I like that you "just keep plugging along" - because that's how this is going for me, too! You're motivational :)

03-12-2008, 09:26 AM
You look amazing! Keep up the great work!!!!

03-12-2008, 09:55 PM
WTG Lyn! you do look great. After seeing your progress, I feel even more determined! :) Hope I have your will power!

03-12-2008, 10:13 PM
All I can say is AWESOME!!! You are such an inspiration. It makes me feel like if you can do it so can I. :congrat::broc::cheer:

03-13-2008, 01:27 AM
It is amazing to see the change. I have to admit, I saw the after pictures, and I KNOW I didn't look that good at 238! Congratulations!

03-13-2008, 02:17 AM
Thank you SO much guys! It makes me feel really good and more determined than ever to keep chiseling away at these pounds. I am so glad I have such great support here!

WOW!!!! I had to check several times to make sure I read the "40" correctly. You look like a whole new body! Congratulations -- especially doing it with injuries!
