WW Clubs and Groups - Thursday Chatters for March

View Full Version : Thursday Chatters for March

03-01-2008, 11:58 PM
Hi all,
Can you believe that it's already March.
Wow, we have St. Patty's Day and Easter this month.

I went dress shopping and actually found something that looked fabulous and was on sale! :carrot:
Now, I must keep my weight under control so I can continue to fit into that dress.

How is everyone doing?????
Does anyone want to start a challenge for the month?

03-02-2008, 09:16 PM
Hi everyone! I haven't had internet access for a few days, so I've missed you all!!!
Tina, that is great that you found a dress on sale even!!! lol to keeping the weight under control.

My scales are in the back of the van, but I feel like I have done very well controlling the food intake.

Disney World was so much fun! We did Epcot on Thursday, and then we went to the Magic Kingdom on Friday. The band looked great in the parade, and I was able to visit with quite a few of my former students while there. My nephew (a sophomore) wanted to know if I wanted to go hang out with he and the guys! lol He knew bob was headed back to the room, and he didn't want me to be by myself. Too funny!

Met with Bob's nieces last night. They are such wonderful people. I enjoy being around them. Today we were at his brother's house. There are 8-10 people living in the house depending on the week. Most of them smoke. I had a terrible time breathing after having the problems recently with the sinuses. Bob went back over tonight, and I stayed here at the hotel. Not very nice, am I?

I even left the house earlier today and met a woman northwest of Tampa who I chat with on 3FC about Fibromyalgia. I met her and her sister, and we went for lunch at a Greek restaurant. Yummy! I had never eaten Greek food before. The best part was, I didn't get lost!!!

My SIL couldn't believe that I was going to drive almost an hour by myself to a town I had never been to, and to meet people I didn't know. She has lived here in Tampa about a year, and she drives to the grocery, and that's about it.

Challenge for March? Get back to the Y at least 3 days a week once we get home. Start water aerobics again. Get my butterfly to move more in the right direction.

03-02-2008, 11:22 PM
Tammy, I'm so jealous that you met someone else from 3FC and not me!!! :( However, it's very neat that you could do that. The world seems to get smaller all the time, doesn't it!
It's funny what some people think about driving distances. It takes me 30-40 minutes to drive to my sister's house--across town. I'm used to it, too. :)
Glad you had fun at Disney.

Okay, my goal for the month is to eat all the fruits and veggies that we're supposed to eat every day. And I need to drink at least 4 glasses of water every single day.

03-03-2008, 07:19 PM
Tina, we WILL meet some day!!! I agree about the world getting smaller.

You have good goals for the month!! I have been doing great with the water. Having bottled water with us all the time has really helped.

Tim and I are seriously thinking about coming back to Disney before he starts working for the summer. He gets out of school the last week of April/beginning of May, so we thought the next week or the week after that. I haven't mentioned it to Bob yet. I know he wouldn't want to come anyway.

Where is everyone???

03-03-2008, 10:30 PM

I took Friday off and went to see my folks. It was GREAT!!! I really miss being away and it's hard to watch them aging.

I got to spend time with my older sister and her boys. Even got to go to a track meet in the town where Pat's folks live, so his mom came out. It's a very small town. His Dad is out of town and will be staying here sometime this week.

Today, I was walking to my room and now my knee is killing me. It's the one with the replacement. I'm hoping it's just because of the cold weather. Oh yea.... IT"S SNOWING HERE!!!! Yesterday it was 75. Only in Texas.

Tina, I'm going to be in Galveston the later part of July. Maybe we can then.

Tammy, I would have done the same thing about the smoke. It just kills me. Disney is so much fun!!! I've only been once but I would love to go again.

Amy is still sick. She was running a high fever and I think it finally broke. So maybe she will start getting better. She is already on antibiotics.

My goal this month is to be down 5 pounds and drink my water!!!!!!

03-04-2008, 08:03 PM
Susan, so nice that you were able to go visit your parents and the other members of your family! Poor Amy! I always tell people that Mexican food cures everything!!

We left Tampa late this morning. We knew we would be driving into storms, and we thought we'd just stop whenever we couldn't see the road anymore. Smart move, huh? We are in Lake City, FL. We'll head out early in the morning. Not sure how far we will go. They are having an ice storm at home, so I'm not that excited about getting back there too soon. Tim will be home on Sat. for spring break, so we will be home by then for sure.

03-04-2008, 11:15 PM
Susan, tell Amy we're pulling for her to get better soon.

Tammy, please be careful.

Dori, what's up with you????

03-06-2008, 01:51 PM
I'm struggling a lot to say the least. The last two weeks have been very stressful and I have resorted to eating. I know that isn't good. I haven't weighed in for 2 weeks now. I'm thinking that I weigh in tonight and use that as my new starting weight. I'm really worried about developing Type II diabetes because I had gestational diabetes. I'm sure if I don't get a handle on it, it will lead to that. So I'm trying to decide if I need to try a diabetic diet. I really don't know.

03-06-2008, 07:17 PM
I'm so sorry you've been having stress. We don't need that stuff when we're trying to be healthy.
I don't know anything about the diabetic diet. Hopefully, you can incorporate some it with the WW one. I would think you could.....just count the points.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you are tomorrow!!!

Friends, our PC is having problems.:p :( :dizzy:
Larry says that the connection, in the back of the tower, where the DSL line connects isn't lit up. That means no internet connection.:?:
I'm usiing his work pc at the moment.
So, if I'm not on for a couple of days, that's the reason.

Tammy, where are y'all now? I hope you stay safe on the road.
Susan, how are you? I hear your weather is worse than ours.

03-06-2008, 11:00 PM
Well it's snowed again today and we are suppose to get more tonight. I wonder if we will have school tomorrow? I kind of hope NOT and then I do so we don't have to make up the day.

My guinea pig is pregnant for sure and it should be any day now..... so who wants one when they are born???? I know you will give them a good home. Tammy, Tina.... you know you want one. :D

Dori, I worry about diabetes too. I have a very strong family history of it.... my dad, all my aunts and uncles, grandmother... so my chances are even greater.

Nothing new here!!!! Need to get back on track and drop some more pounds.

Tammy, are you almost home yet?

Tina, I hate having computer issues!

03-07-2008, 02:04 PM
Guinea pigs???? :o
I don't think so. I'm doing fine. :)
Susan, did you have today off? There were snow flurries as far south as Conroe. Our weathermen were so hoping we'd get some. Silly, silly guys.

We took our pc to the Geek Squad this morning. They're putting in a "card" that's supposed to cure the problem. We can get it this afternoon, although it'll be after Larry finishes work today.
I didn't know what to do with myself last night---no computer.
For some reason, his work computer will let me onto 3fatchicks but not my e-mail sight. Too many bozos at work were looking up porno sites during work!!! So, almost all sites are blocked now. Strange what grown people do at work.

Tammy are you home yet?
Dori, how is your day going?
Maureen, are you still lurking around reading? If so, post.

My eating is not good right now. I need to drink that water that I said was my March challenge.

03-07-2008, 02:36 PM
Well overall I'm doing good today. I weighed in and entered my new starting weight since I'm doing WW's online.

Orange = 1 pt
Yogurt = 1 pt
Fiber One Bar = 2

Potato = 3
Sour Cream = 2
Butter = 1
Salad = 0
Dressing = 1

Grapes = 1
100 Calorie Pack = 2
String Cheese = 2

I plan on having some Grilled Chicken, Brown Rice, and Green Beans for dinner. Nummy.

03-07-2008, 03:44 PM
Hello everyone!! We arrived home late yesterday afternoon. I have slept most of today. I am totally worn out. I'll get back on here later and read messages. I need to go finish balancing check books. Oh boy!

03-07-2008, 10:42 PM
We had about 4 inches of snow here, the roads werent' too bad. Pat and i met and we came home together last night. My district decided to open. I wasn't happy this morning but once we left and got on the roads they were fine. I am glad because we would have had to made them up in June. I certainly wouldn't want that!!!

Tina, it is sad what people will do on the computer while at work. A lot of sites are blocked at school. They are ones that you think "now why is this blocked?"

Tammy, glad you are home!! Get some rest now!

Dori, you did great on your food today. Wish mine was better.

03-08-2008, 06:34 PM
Our computer is back and running. It just needed that new "card" put in. I know nothing about stuff like that.

This isn't a good eating day. I feel so stuffed and it's all my fault. Maybe when Larry starts working full days---on Monday----I can get back to more normalcy. He'll be working from home but I can try to be normal.

Dori, I like your menu. How was today?
Susan, I'm glad you and Pat were safe in that snowy weather.
Tammy, welcome home!!!!! Was the weather too bad for Tim to make it home?

How is everyone doing?????

03-09-2008, 12:18 AM
Dori, next year since I'll be in GA longer, we'll have to meet up! I saw a sign for Jesup, and I told Bob we should go there and just drive around and I could call out your name. He just rolled his eyes!! I also had gestational diabetes. I do try and watch the sugars and carbs, but not as much as I should. I have a glucose monitor, but I don't use it all the time. I'll test my blood every week or so. It helps me just to know how I'm doing.

I looked at your foods that you listed. The only thing I can think of (hubby is diabetic) is that maybe some more protein during the day? Not sure though.

Tina, I had to laugh about how you can't get to certain sites on the computer. My 2nd graders tried to find out info about the Loch Ness monster, and they were banned from going to the site!!! The next day one of the 3rd grade teachers went to check something, and a porn site came up! Now why wasn't it blocked?? Glad your computer is back!!

Tim called about 8:45 to say he was heading home. He arrived about 11:30. Usually takes an hour. The roads were bad, and the visibility was awful. Our county was on a Level 3 emergency because of the snow and drifting. They were arresting people for being out. Glad Tim didn't get stopped!! We've had 11 inches of snow, and the blowing has drifts everywhere. Glad we don't have to do our own shoveling anymore.

Susan, enjoy the snow! And I have to say no to the guinea pig. Sorry about that!! (NOT!!)

Tim and I talked to Bob about Disney earlier. He said to go for it! He said we should fly instead of driving down which was what I had planned to do. Now we'll check out flights. Also need to check with my friend that works there. She told me when we were leaving there the other day to give her a call about coming back down. She said none of their family is planning to come down, so she'll get us a discount for the rooms and tickets! I love being her friend! lol I did have a good time hanging out with her, her husband, DIL, and some friends. She and I have been friends since elementary school.
Next year when we are at Jekyll, she and her hubby are going to drive up for a couple of days.

I weighed this morning after I ate breakfast. I was up a pound, but that's ok since I had just eaten. Getting back into a routine will help. Not sure if I'll start going back to the Y this week or wait till the next week when Tim is back at school.

03-09-2008, 09:38 PM
It was a beautiful day here. I went to exercise, so I was proud of myself. I really wanted to just stay home. Pat worked outside some. I then cooked filet mignons for dinner. They were pretty good.

No babies yet. I think the momma is going to start staying at home until she has the babies. They go back and forth to school with me everyday. I'll just take the little one. Hopefully she won't have a bunch of them. I have 2 of my friends that want one so I'm glad. I actually won't have to deal with getting rid of them because the Science center would take them. That's where I got these 2 from, and they take care of anything that I need.

Tammy, Disney would be fun. I can't believe that they are giving tickets for driving in the snow...... you can tell we don't get that much. ya'll be careful. I'm glad that Tim got there safely!

Tina, glad you go your computer back. I know you are so happy. Wow Larry goes back to work, that is a major step.

Dori, diabetes is one of my biggest fears!!!!! I check my blood sugar when I go home. I know it will make my dad check his.

03-10-2008, 06:25 PM
Any new guinea pigs yet?? That's good that you'll have a place to take them.

The roads were really nasty, and by giving tickets, it keeps people off the roads that don't need to be out. Many less accidents this way too.

We have our reservations for Disney and the flights! Woo hoo!

I want to move my butterfly again!!!

03-10-2008, 11:15 PM
No new guinea pigs yet! I counted the days up and it is anytime give or take a few days. Especially since I don't know the exact date.

School was good today. One this week and it's spring break. I'm so ready for it. Pat is taking the week off with me.

Tammy, when do you go to Disney? How fun!!!!!!!! I am so glad I don't live where it's SOOOOOOO cold. I would be a popsicle!!

03-11-2008, 11:45 PM
We are a pretty quiet bunch this month, aren't we!
I've got an almost earache. Boy, I only remember having one of those things. Since I made an appt. with a dr., it's stopped hurting. Naturally! I've had some congestion and that is probably the problem. My dr. isn't there tomorrow so I see someone else. I don't like going to another dr.

Tammy, glad you and Tim can have some fun.
Susan, how are your parents? How's Amy?
Dori, tell us how your eating menus are going.

I've got to get some rest.

03-13-2008, 10:08 PM
Susan, that's great that Pat is also taking the week off!! Woo hoo!! We leave for Disney on May 5, and we'll return to Ohio on May 10.

I agree about the quiet group. Tina, I agree about seeing a different doctor. When I went to the convenient care in GA, I was a nervous wreck!! Hope you are feeling better.

Since we have been home, I haven't been sleeping the best at night, and when I get up in the morning I can hardly move because my lower back hurts so much. I'm taking the night time medicine that I'm supposed to take, and it doesn't seem to be helping. I took Tylenol PM the other night, and I slept better, AND my back didn't hurt as bad in the morning. I go back to the rheumatologist the beginning of April, so I need to talk to her about it. Bob and I are also thinking that maybe we need a new mattress. Ours is about 10 years old, and we aren't small people, so it has really gotten a workout.

Does anyone know anything about the Sleep Number beds??

03-13-2008, 11:27 PM
I am doing pretty good. I'm just counting until 4 pm tomorrow. I just want to sleep. I went and picked up Arbys for dinner. I got a strawberry milkshake... BIG mistake. They always upset my stomach but they are so good. I then ate my sandwich. ice cream seems to be a feel good food for me. My assistant left yesterday and went to the hospital. she is still there. I am doing everything myself. Meaning no lunch (suppose to get a duty free lunch) no planning period (she goes with my kids) so I'm doing good to get to go to the restroom during the day. So I'm just a little tired.

Tammy, I think you do need a new mattress. We do too.

Tina, those Care clinics are pretty good if it's something simple. I would go there. I'm glad your ear is better.

Ok, tomorrow I plan on doing better on my food.

03-14-2008, 10:02 AM
:D Morning all,
I know all the teachers are ready for spring break. My sister teaches (her last year before retirement) and is ready for the bell this afternoon, too.
Susan, have a great week off. I'm sorry about your tummy ache.
A little r&r should take care of that----and NO strawberry milkshakes.

Tammy, you definitely need a new mattress. We just bought one and it really makes a difference. You have a great trip, too!!!

Dori, now we haven't heard a peep out of you recently. I want to know how you are, girl.

I must complain about my doctor's appointment the other day. The woman dr. was just "okay." She said I had lots of wax built up in my ear. So, she left and the nurse came in and put in drops. Then, she sent in a woman how didn't look like a nurse. She did the ear washing and was horribly rough. After I yelled twice, she stopped. It got most of the wax out of my ear, plus blood! The dr. was apologetic but said my ear drum looked fine. Grrrr..... I went home and took 1/2 pain pill before I went to bed.
My ear isn't bothering me now, thank goodness. Larry goes to his ENT dr. next week. I'm going to tag along and ask her to look in my ear.

Everyone have a great day and a fantastic weekend.

03-16-2008, 11:27 PM
Okay, did everyone leave town for the weekend----like I did. :)
Susan, we went to the outlet mall in San Marcos and then to San Antonio. I thought about you. We ate supper at the Barn Door on Sat. night. Yummy!!!
I totally blew my program. I am not going to weigh for several days. :(

How are all the members doing?

03-16-2008, 11:40 PM
Susan, we did Arby's for lunch today. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and some of Tim's curly fries. We picked on the manager for a while. He was one of my students when I taught 5th grade. I think he was in the 3rd or 4th year of my teaching career. Then I had him again in Junior High! Tim worked for him at Arby's a couple years in high school. He be working for him this summer too.

Tina, what kind of mattress did you get? I'm asking people for their opinions. lol I am so sorry that you had to go through that at the doctor! I wouldn't have been a bit happy. Must be doctor time. Bob goes to the liver specialist on Tuesday. We are making a list of questions and concerns to take with us.

We didn't go anywhere, just busy doing things around here. It was nice having Tim home. He's back at school, and I know he is happy to see his girlfriend. They didn't see each other over break. We are planning to take her to Michigan with us in July.

Tina, I agree about the weighing. I just feel like I've gained a gazillion pounds. By the way, I haven't had TOM since the beginning of December. Do you think it could be official now????????????????????

03-17-2008, 11:29 PM
I'm officially on spring break!!! Not a day too soon!!!! Pat's taking the week off too. We are getting projects done around here. Took both cars for oil changes, etc.... Then he did some electrical stuff in the garage, like putting up new lights and wiring.

Saturday, I was pretty much a waste. I had a killer headache so I didn't do much except try to get rid of it.

Wednesday and Thursday, we are going on an adventure. I don't know what but he says it's going to be a big one. We like to get in the car and go for rides and explore. He asked me tonight if the guinea pigs would have enough water if we were gone 2 days. So I guess we will be gone over night. I have no idea where we are going. I'll keep you posted.

Tina, I have very small ear canals and would have to have them cleaned out as a kid. I remember how painful it was. Your dr. was a jerk! You poor thing. Yum!!! The Barn Door!!!!

Tammy, It's strange to have your former students waiting on you. Glad Tim got to spend some good quality time ya'll. Tammy..... I'm JEALOUS!!!! I'm ready for no TOM :)

No guinea pig babies yet. If she doesn't have them soon she is going to explode!!! She is huge. I can feel them kick if I put my hand on her stomach. I don't pick her up for now because I don't want to hurt the babies.

03-17-2008, 11:41 PM
Susan, would it be best to leave the guinea pigs with someone while you are gone? What would happen if the mama had the babies and had problems? (I've watched to many doctor shows. )
Tammy, we bought a Sealy Posturepedic, firm. It's great!
Dori, where are you hiding???
Maureen, what happened to you?
Susan, how is Amy doing?

03-17-2008, 11:50 PM
I thought about that too. I thought poor little pig would have her babies without me.... that would be my luck. She is acting strange tonight so I'm hoping that is a sign.

Amy is doing pretty good. I think she is seeing a pulmonologist sometime soon. Hopefully he will help her with her asthma. It's all related to her allergies.

Mom is having her sinuses cleaned out on Tuesday. I think she will feel so much better once it is done.

Oh did you want to Piggy sit???

03-18-2008, 11:39 PM
Evening all,
Piggy sitting??? I guess I could try it. :D
You and Pat have a great time on your adventure!

Tammy, how is Bob? What did the doctor say to y'all????? I'm anxious to hear.

Dori, are you out there?

03-20-2008, 09:37 AM
Hi all! We had some connection problems yesterday, so I didn't get in here.
The dr. appt. went ok. The liver enzymes are still elevated. The doctor was concerned that Bob was still drinking, but we assured him he has had no alcohol since the beginning of September. He said it is imperative that he have none at all if he wants to live. If that's not laying it on the line, I don't know what is. Bob told him that he has had no interest at all in drinking.

The glucose level was 245 which is way too high. It wasn't a fasting result, but it is still too high. The doctor is letting the family doctor know the results, and Bob is supposed to go to him and possibly go on medication for that. He was on a med several years ago and just stopped taking it. The doctor also told him to start taking a vitamin. Hmmmmm. His dear sweet wife has been saying that for ages, but he didn't trust me I guess.

We go to the tax lady to sign things today. Have no idea if we are getting back or paying in. With the retirement, I received severance pay, so that might determine what happens. We went into a higher tax bracket I think. I used to do our taxes, but the past few years have been so weird with buying a house, retiring, selling a house, and the inheritance Bob received. Got too confusing for me. Maybe next year will be more normal. Oh, and the investment stuff is confusing too!!!

Tim has to work this weekend, so after church on Sunday (if I go), we'll be headed to spend some time with him on Easter. His gf isn't going home either, so I told him we'd all go out to eat. Wonder if McDonald's is ok with them????? lol

Susan, I can't wait to hear about your adventure!! We enjoy doing things like that!!

Tina, I am ready to go check out mattresses. My back is killing me! The one we have is pretty firm, so I guess I need a softer one. Maybe it's because of the arthritis and fibro?

Sunshine this morning!!!!!!!!!!! We need it!!!!!!!! I went to get my haircut yesterday, and there were so many flooded areas. I was glad that I was in the van since it is up higher.

03-20-2008, 07:25 PM
It's so pretty here today. It was a little cool this morning.

Tammy, I'm so glad to hear from you. I was really getting worried about you and Bob. That's disappointing about the levels.
I was also worried that y'all were in the badly flooded areas. That's all they show on TV.
Be really careful when y'all go see Tim. Boo, about Tim having to work. Boo, again.

03-20-2008, 10:30 PM
Tina, thanks for your concern!! He is disappointed about the levels since he's been trying to do what he has been told, but I told him that he has to quit drinking Pepsi and eating candy bars every night.

I met Melissa to just gab this afternoon. I can't believe how high the water is in places. I've never seen it this bad, and I've lived in this county my entire life. I know it is even worse just 20 miles south of us. I'm sure the basement in our old house has turned into a swimming pool unless they've spent lots of $$ to get it completely sealed up tight. I think every basement in that town gets water in it when it rains alot. It is supposed to rain again tomorrow. Not a good thing.

I want to go to church on Sunday, but I know how packed it will be. The parking area around our church isn't that big, and with the flooding, there is no way that they can park cars out in the huge yard behind the church like usual on Easter. We'll be careful when we go to see Tim. I talked to him earlier to let him know that we're bringing his tax returns to sign and send in.

Didn't go look at mattresses yet. Bob said we are going microwave looking tomorrow, and we might check out mattresses also. Our microwave died while I was making scrambled eggs for myself. Of course since it isn't working, I keep wanting popcorn!

It was pretty here too today! I loved having the sunshine!!

03-21-2008, 09:49 PM
Hi All,

Our adventure was fun! We got about 45 minutes away from home and Pat said "Ok, Now here is a packet with information on where we are going." We drove up to Oklahoma City and did a bunch of stuff and then drove over to the out skirts of Tulsa and came back on Route 66. It was a blast!!! We stayed the night in Oklahoma City. We travelled 648 miles in 2 days. We laughed and had a good time. The nice thing is that I didn't have to plan anything or do anything except enjoy myself. Pat did a great job. We went to the Oklahoma City Memorial. It was VERY moving!!!!

Still no piggies!!! I sure hope she has them in the next day or so. If not I'm going to call the vet just to double check. Poor thing looks like she is going to explode.

We planted our vegetable garden today.

Tina, how are YOU doing?

Tammy, I'm glad Bob isn't drinking. Hopefully all the levels will go down.

03-23-2008, 08:26 PM
Susan, I want to go on an adventure with you sometime!! Have you ever been to the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City? We were there several years ago, and we were VERY impressed! It is worth the trip. Will you bring me some of your vegetables when they are ready???

Tina, how was your Easter??

03-23-2008, 10:09 PM
I hope everyone had a great day!
Susan, did y'all have hot dogs? :)
Tammy, did you make it to church? How is Tim?

Ours was very nice. We had a good crowd at church. Lots of holidays, people are gone out-of-town. They were mostly all there today.
My sister picked up Mother and took her home. we all went and had a nice time.
Today, Mother was so happy and lucid. My sister said that when she picked her up, Mother was sitting talking to all her friends. (Mother lost all her hearing a couple of years ago but still acts like she can hear.)
It just tears me up that we must move her next month. The move will completely "do her in." Stroke/dementia victims cannot accept any change. She's lived there for almost 8 years. (We still haven't found a place for her.)

I've eaten way too much this weekend. Tomorrow it's back OP, for good!

03-23-2008, 10:37 PM
Happy Easter! :bunny2:

Tina, I'm glad that your Mother had a good day. It will be a hard move for your mother as well as you and your sister. Hopefully you will find the right place for her.

Tammy, Glad you got to see Tim.

We ended up having buffalo wings instead of hot dogs. Pat didn't feel too hot today. I think he over did it this weekend working outside.

03-24-2008, 11:13 AM
Hello all. I haven't been around much due to work, college, and being mommy. We had another death in the family and had to go out of town last weekend. I haven't been sticking to my plan and in turn have gained. :( I'm joining a local gym today and I'm back on track. I have learned that I must take baby steps instead of just jumping in all at once.

03-24-2008, 03:01 PM
Dori, welcome back!!!!!!!

03-24-2008, 10:55 PM
Welcome back Dori! I have learned the same thing about taking baby steps! Sorry about your loss. Glad you are back on track!!

Tina, how are you Sweetie? What have you done for YOURSELF lately?

Tammy, can you believe that I am ready for summer and today was the first day back from spring break? Someone said "Only 52 days left."

My trainer called today and wanted to cancel. i was glad so I stopped by the store and got me a rolling backpack so I stop lugging all my stuff around. Then got ice cream.... it's a comfort food... soothes my heart. Then went to the cemetery to visit Seamus. This time of year has been hard this year on me.

Mom is having her sinus surgery tomorrow. I didn't tell her how HORRIBLE I HURT afterwards. I hope hers is like Amy's was, she was up and going in 2 days. I would rather have another knee replacement than have sinus surgery again. And I have a high pain tolerance.

Tina, I didn't go to church. We ended up leaving early to go to see Tim so we could beat the rush to the restaurants. Terrible aren't we? We had fun with Tim and his gf. Olive Garden was yummy!!!

Glad to hear that your mother had a good day, but I'm sorry that she has to be moved. I pray you find a good place for her. We have some near me! Want to move to Ohio??

Dori, you are a busy person. Sorry to hear about the death in your family. I really have to remember to take baby steps too. Sometimes I just go crazy when I want to start something.

Susan, I can really believe that you are ready for summer!! I'm not sure when the schools get out around here for sure. End of May/beginning of June. My niece teaches in Pittsburgh, PA, and her school gets out the end of June. Ice cream helps me when I'm sad, moody, happy, sick (ok maybe not), just about all the time. I was thinking about Seamus the other day, and I don't remember what I was doing at the time.

I've heard so many horror stories about sinus surgery. I honestly think Bob needs to have it done, and I've told him that. He doesn't have a high pain tolerance!!

Tim called tonight and went over his fall schedule with us tonight. He won't know for a while if that's what he'll get, but it sounds good. His earliest class would be 10:00 three days a week. He has 8:00 and 9;00 classes this semester, and with working late many nights in the dorm, he has been pretty worn out. He isn't doing band next year. I'm bummed, but I understand. He'll be able to devote more time to his classes and being an RA. Not to mention the young lady!! lol

Happy Wednesday to all,
Susan, how was your mother's surgery? I hope she has an easy recovery.

Tammy, I know you'll miss Tim playing or helping with the band. Boy, it will be a weird feeling. Will you go to the games?
How is Bob feeling?

Dori, are you taking little bitty steps? :) I hope you have some time to relax.
I'm so sorry about the death in your family.

I can't believe it---Larry goes back to the office next Tuesday. I hope they have a banner or something saying "Welcome Back." He's so ready to go. I'm not too keen on him driving way out there. It's on the other side of town. He'll do fine but he'll be so tired.
When he returns to work, I'll get to stay OP more. It's been really hard with him home.
I need to lose more pounds because I've gained at least half of what I lost while he was in the hospital. My nephew's wedding is coming up and I need to be down.
I bought a dress online. I've never done that before. Have any of you done that??? I hope the size is right and it looks good. If not, I'll have to scour the city. My sister (mother of the groom) still doesn't have her dress. Hmm...it's getting close but she hasn't found anything she likes.

Y'all have a good evening. I hope we all have good luck on the scales this week. :D

Mom's surgery was a success. The dr. said there was so much infection that they it would never heal. He said it was worse than he expected.

Remember me telling you about my student that hit another kid last month. Well, the parents are pressing charges.....on an multi-handicapped kid. It makes me sick!!!! Plus that boy went to the school dance that night so how hurt could he be.

I have a sore throat today. I kind of feel lousy. However, you can't tell by the way I've been eating :( I have to stop!!!!!!!

I told Bob that I still plan to go to the football games next fall even with Tim not in the band. It's a fun atmosphere, and we've had the same seats the past 2 seasons, so we've gotten to know some of the other people around us.

Wow to Larry getting back to work!!! I know he is more than ready. I have made many purchases online, and I have been satisfied with most of them. I've been doing that for many years.

Susan, glad to hear about your mom. Sorry to hear that those parents are pressing charges, but i can believe it. People do that so often anymore.
Hope your throat is better!!

Off to church pretty soon!!

Just returned tonight from a weekend getaway to friends house. They live two hours from here. It's nice to go somewhere. Now I've got to wash everything.
I ate too much this weekend. I should live on fruit and water this week to get the scales to move. I know----that's not a healthy attitude. :)

Tina I laughed when I read about the fruit and water. I was considering a similar thing but I was going to have vegies too.

I might just have to do the water :)

I did better on the water today. Bob is going to call the doctor in the morning about his sugar levels. He got up and it was 60 or 65! He was shaky, so he ate what I don't think he should have eaten. 2 pop tarts and a can of Ensure. When he tested his blood later, it was over 200. Shock? I didn't think so, but he was. I pulled out the diabetes material again, and I told him that he has to sit down and READ IT!!! I'm pretty bossy.

Tried to help him make good choices for supper. Notice I said tried? He snacked on a Pepsi and a candy bar a while ago. Denial????
