Hey all..it's March and Spring needs to get here.

So typical story for me this weekend doing great all week long, then go to a party last night.

Had a few beers then my friend and I go to drive home ( she was sober and driving) and we seriously ate probably 6 cookies each that she had packed up from the party. I thought they were for her husband, but he never got thm because she was eating the last one as she drove away!!!

Oh well, back at it today, I about to go for a walk, then clean this house then spinning and weight class.

Have a great day all!!

hello. long time no speak. things not good for me. went to GP last monday, 2 hours i was in there. ended up being admitted to hospital. GP thought i had had a second stroke. this was confirmed at hospital. put onto stroke unit - felt out of place as full of older people. was discharged on friday. started physio today. my first one was a small one, this one has affected all down my left side. i can't feel a thing. i can walk short distances with a stick but have to use a wheelchair for long distances. my speech comes and goes. on the plus side i have lost 4lb this week. but then again i can't eat solids.

hope everyone doing ok.

My taste buds have left me. Can't taste a thing. Physio gave me some exercises to do. Go back on Monday. Still awaiting MRI scan - nice to see the NHS rush to do it. Can't be put on medication to prevent another one until results of MRI. Having to check my BP daily. Never realised til now just how much I used my left hand. Everyone being very supportive but still shocked when I tell them whats wrong with me. Everyone thinks it only happens to old people. I've aged about 10 years. There is this weird person looking back at me from the mirror. Got to laugh about it, can't let it beat me. Not allowed to drive for a month so hubby has used it as an excuse to pinch my car - well I did scrap his whilst he was at work!!
My mate kindly pushed me in my wheelchair this morning to the post office - well I say pushed. She tried tipping me out 3 times!! The wind was blowing her hair in her face and she couldn't see the kerb. Think I'll wear a crash helmet next time. Some people are so rude, completely ignored me and spoke to my mate.
Well take care all. Hope to be back dieting and exercising soon.

Welcome angeleyezx. Thankyou for your well wishes. I am doing daily exercises to regain stength and movement. I am hoping that this will enable me to be able to drive again when I see my specialist next. So far I am doing well. My walking is improving.

Hi all, an old returning member here.

I'm so sorry to hear about your stroke Kn1ghtbabe . The brain can be a remarkable organ though. It is amazing how it can make other areas of the brain take over from the damaged parts - you hear all sorts of stories about people who lose one half of their brain due to injury and they recover, so I am sure that you can do it. Just don't let your friends throw you out of your wheelchair!

Hello ladies,

It's quiet in here, I suppose we've all been busy. So how are all of you doing? Glad to hear that you're doing a bit better KB, sorry but I did have to giggle at the thought of your friend nearly toppling you out of the wheelchair, when I was a kid, we had a red cross wheel chair in the house, (I have no idea why) but me and my friends thought it would be great to play with it and wheel each other about, I could steer it and we played merrily for hours, but my friend didn't seem to have to co-ordination to push and steer and ended up pushing me with a HUGE push, into a set of stinging nettles...OUCH! Wasn't funny at the time, but we laugh about it now, scary though though, she now drives a car as well....

My weight isn't going anywhere at the mo, inches seem to be going down though, people are commenting on how much 'weight' I've lost, so something is happening although it's not the pounds cos I can see the scale.. so it must be inches, I'll take that though.

Welcome back Pachyderm. Nice to hear from you again.

Right, well I'd better get on with some guff cleaning around here before work, see you all again soon

I'm exhausted been arguing in Argos over a refund. I got it in the end but their no quibble refund isn't what I think it should be. Unless no quibble means full scale argument.

My diet is going badly.

I've decided the stomach pain I've had for 10 days is maybe stress related as it came back as soon as I left Argos.
