Hey! Just wanted to let you all know that I am still around and lurk quite a bit. I have been busy with my kids and it doesn't look like it is going to slow down anytime soon!!
The kids are great and have both lost significant weight! (They both are insulin resistant!) They are both down two sizes in clothes and both still at ages where they have some growing left to do. I just bought Sean some 34" pants yesterday and Rachel is in a 14 now! They are taking Rachel off the glucophage for the time being and will repeat labs in three months to see if that can be permanent. Sean may come off as well in the future!
Hope everyone is dong well and have a great weekend!!!

Good evening everyone - daylight is certainly staying a little longer now isn't it?
I had the bright idea of riding the grandson's bicycle today. All was well for a little while. I've got to get a "big girl friendly seat" for the thing before getting back on it. I'll do that next week.
Lunch today was at a local mexican restaurant and it was fajaita chicken nachos, with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and cheese. I did not eat the chips.
Have a very nice rest-of-the day.
Monet: hope you feel better real soon!

Monet- take care of yourself and get lots of rest!
BOB- thanks for the movie tips.
Gym- sounds like that busy day will help despite the goodies you had! :smug:
Chrl- my daughter did the DDR during her freshmen year at college and lost 15 lbs. The pediatrician was shocked and said that she had the opposite of the usual "Freshman 15lb. gain" She loves DDR, but she is a dancer, I am afraid I will kill myself trying to do it~
Thin- that is FANTASTIC about your kiddos.......and getting to stop some medication is GREAT! :carrot:

Had a fun weekend here. We bought another dog. He's a 3 month old little Shih Tzu. We have an 8 yr old Shih Tzu too and he's been down in the dumps since we had to put our cat down so we decided to get him a brother. I have to say our older dog is very good to him. He's patient, most of the time. He does have to put him in his place if he gets too rambunctious but for the most part it's been a good transition.
I also went to my first ever massage. I had bought (2) 1 hour massages for my daughter for Christmas 2005, but she doesn't really want the lotion they use on her back because she's afraid of breaking out. She told me to use one on Sunday as a gift for my anniversary......Well, I did and if that wasn't the greatest thing ever!! I got a full body massage and just couldn't believe how relaxed I was at the end of it. My muscles are very sore in the upper part of my back and neck today. I'm wondering if the guy who did it used too much pressure. It was a little uncomfortable at times, but noting painful. Maybe next time I'll tell them to go lighter. I highly recommend this ladies!!
I weighed in at 185 today.
:welcome3: Kelly! This is a great board, you'll love it here.

Happy Monday Folks!
Whew what a crazy weekend. Our car died on us on the way home Sat. Had to have it towed home. Not under warranty, DH is taking it to be evaluated today, hope it wont cost an arm and a leg to fix. Meanwhile my youngest son (20yo), has decided to go stay with his dad for a while. Apparently daddy will alow things in his home that I will not. We'll see how long that lasts. So yes folks my stress level is still through the roof!
But today when I got to work, I had this email reminder that my 30 year high school reunion will be this coming year. OMG that long already. But I tell you what this is just the motivation I needed to keep my rear in gear...lol. I already weigh 100 lbs less than I did in high school. Yes, I was the super obese girl that folks either felt deeply sorry for or they made fun of. I just cant wait...really!
Here's to a good week for everybody.

Morning Everyone..
Welcome Kelly.
I had one good day. I had a lot of trouble not eating sugar yesterday. Once I start it's getting tougher to go back to none. I might go back to just not cheating because its too hard. But on the flip never cheating caused me to over do it. I need a balance. Grr.
I did 90 min at the gym--so its a start. I talked to a trainer, who doesn't understand why I have become so weight loss resistant. Especially with the amt I work out and what I eat. She said try adding a carb or 2 and ditch cheese. At this point im trying everything. I also have to find a sugar free protein substitute, to make shakes with. Apparently for the muscle I have gained I need extra protein. Um yay?
Well Have a good day everyone!

Hey, guys. Thought I would check in. I did "okay" last week. I had one bad day, but not as bad as it's been being. Trying to get back to my ticker weight. I think right now I'm around 161. I need some new work clothes, tired of these..it's been awhile since I bought a new outfit. But I want to lose a few pounds before going shopping. Using that excuse and Spring coming as a motivator to lose 5 pounds. Trying to get back in workout mode. Yesterday I went to the gym and I did the elliptical for 22 min(did 3 miles) and then I got on the treadmill and walked at 4.0 pace at the most incline for a few min and then jogged for a couple min..total cardio time was 40 min at a good pace. Most of the time I only have 30-35 minutes to spare. I'll probably do cardio this evening and tomorrow do my Ramp it Up video.
MONET-
GYM- I did the coffee-cocoa thing. It was really good. I added 1 level tbsp of cocoa to my coffee and 1 pack splenda and just a tad milk.
THIN- That's really great news about your kiddos. My daughter doesn't have a weight problem yet but she's headed there if she doesn't slack up soon.
I'll check back later..

GymRat: i've been having trouble with the sugar lately as well. friday night i went to a friend's house for dinner and had a (planned) cheat but then sunday night at church i had an unplanned cheat and practically ate my weight in cookies. the stuff that's bad for you just tastes so good! with my recent lack of discipline in the eating department i have really tried to kick up my exercising. i am going to try not to cheat any until easter weekend, when my parents are coming up from TN for a visit.

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have MIA. It has been crazy at work.
Monet, I will miss you terribly, but you do what you need to do and come back soon.
Chris, we have a Shih Tzu too, 9 months old. I love him dearly. It has been 10 years since we had a dog and he has been a joy. I had a massage o vacation and loved it. I need to get another one. That is just your muscle being sore from non use. It is normal.
Sparkle, congrats on non eating the chips. :cheer:
Bob, that sounds like a movie my DH would like. Sounds like a beautiful day in Florida.
Toni, sounds like you had our nice weather too. It was beautiful yesterday and 70 today, but the winds are bad and the rain is coming soon.
Thin, so glad the kids have done so well. It will help them in the long run.
Gym, I hope the trainer has some ideas for you. I do agree about the protein.
Got to run, my computer guy is here to work on my computer. Be back later.

CAT DIARY:
Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are
fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets Although I make my contempt for
the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in
order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.
In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their
feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it
clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made
condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.
*******s!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.
However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that
my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what
this means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try
this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and
seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously ******ed.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with
the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My
captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell,
so he is safe.
For now...

Hello everyone! I got the "big girl friendly bicycle seat" today. Course it rained all day today, thunderstorms, tornado watch, etc. Tomorrow it will be cold. All this after a beautiful weekend. The 11th is getting closer and I know I'm not gonna lose this 8 pounds to get me to 200 before my diabetic dr
visit, but that's okay. I know I did very well after 1 year of being on SB.
I have cleaned out the closets, drawers, etc in the process of getting rid of all the 26/28 items.
Short term goal now is by Memorial Day be in an 18 (non-stretch) jean/capri.
We will be going to Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas for a family reunion and I want to be in that size by then. I think that's pretty doable!
Well I rambled on and on as usual - sorry bout that!
Y'all have a wonderful evening.

Hi everyone. I'm 46, single and a gramma! I have always had a problem with sugar, eating way too much. I have serious issues with it. I can consume more then my Doc ever imagined..
After telling him what goes on with me, frequent binges aka a gal of icecream every day or so, he put me on glucophage (metformin). My sugar cravings have pretty much gone. I still get the urge for a sugary coffee. That's about it. No more bags of chocolate covered penuts, sometimes two or three bags. No more icecream. If I do have something it's limited and I can stop at a normal limit.
But I'm trying to stay away from it altogether. Pill or no pill. Sugar is evil.
I'm currently 160 and my goal is a firm 140. At 140 I can fit in size 4's.
Thanks for taking interest in my situation.

Good happy Morning!!
So far 2 whole good days. I decided to eat more at each meal, but spread it out over 30 min increments. It seemed to work yesterday. So far I have only had mocha coffee and a ww yogurt. Im hard boiling 2 eggs to have before I go to the gym.
Kelly-I have done that crazy over eating binge thing myself. I actually did it once even being on SB. Every little bit you can do to get away from sugar is helpful. Good luck on your journey. 140 is my goal also. I haven't been that low, but that seems decent for my body type.
Sparkle-I think you have a very reasonable goal in mind. I love going through all the old clothes as well. Makes room for shopping.
tech-That was a great little read..Thanks for sharing. Started my day smiling!! Have a good one.
Mercee-have a great day!!
Solly-nice to see you. Hope your day is a little calmer.
Chr-I m glad you mentioned the extra exercise. Usually I do it if I have planned cheats. What sucks are the unplanned ones. I thought planning them would help but it makes me feel guilty for being able to control the "bad eating" and the unplanned ones I just feel plain guilty. I can't seem to win,
heartmom-I am glad you like the mocha coffee. It can be a little bitter at first, but i find coffee bitter anyways. Nice job on the cardio. 4.0 is tough to walk at so rock on!!
Monet--Hope your rest is going well!!!
Ok anyone else I missed have an awesome day!!!

Good morning ladies. It is raining cats and dogs here. It could be snow so I am counting my blessings.
Made it to the gym last night for 45 minutes. Then we decided to take Rudy for a walk since it wasn't raining. Of course by the time we got the leash on him and got out the door it started. I said oh well, we won't melt & it was warm so we walked a couple blocks in the rain. I guess anyone who saw the 3 of us and the dog thought we were nuts.
Mercee, I know you can make your goal by April. Awesome job.
Sparkle, you go girl, you can do it! I remember how excited I was when I got out of the Plus department and in the regular sizes. Even an XL was great.
Kelly, :welcome: I had to get off before I got to you yesterday. Welcome to our group. This is a great group for support and friendship. I size 4 sounds so out of my reach. I would be happy with a 10 and happier in an 8. I was in 8's before breast cancer. Damn disease! Good job on getting the sugar out of your system.
Gym, I hope this WOE helps you. Sounds like a good plan.
Off to get this day started. I have to get my mailing of my golf invitations out today. That will be a oad off my mind. Have a great day

Hello Everybody,
Last night had to eat out...went to Luby's cafeteria...I chose baked talapia, spinach and a small salad. spinach was extremely salty. I know places do that for taste. But I feel the effect of a high sodium meal for a couple of days....it will show up on the scale tomorrow I am sure...weigh in day at home.
Thought I'd chime in on the size business. At my heaviest I was in very stretchy size 28w <sigh>. At my lowest I got down to a 16w (very briefly). I wear mostly 18 or 20s now and given that I use to always stay above 24w since the age of 12 (no lie) I am happy with the size I am being 6' tall it is evenly distributed. My wildest dream come true would be a 14 really. Now the most disgusting body part is my upper bat wing arms...those wont go away even with lots and lots of tricep curls. When I get down into the 16s it is very frustrating because tops will not fit me well...arms look like sausage wraps. YUCK.
Today is primary day in Texas....oh joy...My daughter has recruited me to attend the democratic caucus. In case you dont know us Texans get to vote twice...strange process... tonight will be an interesting night.

it's hump day..Horray!!
3 days of good eating. I took the kids out to dinner last night at an Italian restaurant. I got grilled chix salad. It came with fruit and yogurt. I only ate the cantaloupe and honey dew melon. Passed on the pineapple and yogurt. Well I was still hungry, I didn't have bread--I ordered a side of griled veg..It wasn't much to speak of. They had sugar free pie on the desert menu. I got that. It was a "normal" serving. HA I left the restaurant still hungry. That was almost funny. Regardless I didn't snag any of the bread or the kids pizza.
Talking about sizes is always interesting. Im 5'2" and about 178 right now. Some people can be the same height. and weigh more yet are in a smaller size than me. I carry majority of my weight in my hips, thighs and bum. (pear shape) I was a tight 16, but 18's were to big when I ended this summer. (07) I told myself I was ok because the 16's didn't fit yet so I hadn't "gained' much. I bought a few new items at size 14 this summer. Funny the new 14's fit yet my old 16's did not. Manufactures have started changing sizes to make people appear to be a smaller size than they truly are. I dug out my old 12's and 14's from my skinny days 5 years. Those were my goal pants. All the 14's fit fine, and although I can wear the 12's with out a problem I d like them to fit a little better. My goal was a 10 by the summer but at the rate im going who knows. I really just want last years stuff to not fit. Id be happy with that.
Chr-Sorry to hear that your basement flooded. DID anything get ruined? How did it go last night?
Rosi-Oh man I know what you mean about added salt. Can you say puffy and swollen. How are you feeling? Drink lots of extra water and green tea to help flush it out. How'd the primary's go?
Mercee-Yay I am glad your 2 days down. great op day!! Have another today!
Toni-Yuck sleet. We have rain and that's miserable enough. Hope you got everything finished.
Solly-Walking in warm rain is refreshing. Awesome not letting the rain stop you from a few more calories burned.
Michele-I can't wait for spring..Its been too long. Even having the clocks turned ahead will help. daylight does wonders for my mood. Thanks for the Reminder!!
Kelly, Sparkle, heart, Monet, and anyone else--Have a great OP day!!!

Wonderful Wednesday to EVERYONE! :goodvibes
I have been staying OP this week. I have had some stress and struggles due to my tennis elbow and I got a big ole cortisone shot on Monday. Currently it hurts more than before, but I am assured that will subside! I must say that eating OP makes me feel healthier. Hubby calls some of our meals "gourmet" which makes me smile. Dinner last night was cornish hens stuffed with brown rice/bell peppers, onions, minced garlic; pintos and steamed cabbage. it was yummy! :carrot:
Gym- i agree with you, I think the sizes change from year to year. My young adult daughter wears all different sizes depending on what the item is and where it is purchased. Maybe the clothing manufactures are trying to psych us out to think we are smaller than we are..........or larger depending on what we're buying! :) Too bad that doesn't hold true for shoes.......you know those tiny shoes......3's 4's etc are ALWAYS on sale at great bargains! :)
Have a great day everybody! Chrl, I hope the basement is better. Floods are NO fun!

GymRat: nothing got ruined, thankfully, and there were no more floods yesterday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I'm just glad it happened in one of the non-carpeted rooms in our basement. There's not much down there other than our mountain bikes and our litter box.
I bought a heart rate monitor, so I'll be interested to try it out during my workout later to see how I'm doing. If it seems pretty accurate, I'm thinking about trying out some HIIT (high intensity interval training), which is supposed to burn a lot of fat.

Hola! Another boring day at work. Yesterday wasn't though. I was exhausted when I got home. Anyway, I'll post yesterday's menu:
Pre-bf(after workout): green tipped banana
BF: 3 scrambled eggs
Lunch: Big salad with tuna, a little cheese, Ranch dressing
Snack: a SBD mix you add to water..30 calories..called Tide Me Over..FYI- this did not work!
Supper: 1 1/2 bowls chili with beans and sour cream
I'll go to the gym this evening and do cardio. I did hand weights this morning and some abs.
GYM: I know how you feel about the size thing. I'm a pear shape as well. I wear 10's although other people usually my height(5'8") and weight are around a size 8. I wear a medium in my tops, except t-shirts..I buy a large.

Chr-I LOVE LOVE LOVE my HRM. I am so lost when I work out without one. I have the New Polar HRM. It has the diary feature which keeps track of the calories how long im in my THRZ. What brand did you get? You will find it helps you kick it upor take it down if needed. Mine does calorie counter also.

 Just flying by and checking on everyone!
CHRIS: When you get a massage, it is almost like using those muscles. My massage therapist tells me to drink LOTS and LOTS of water to move the 'stuff' out of the muscles. It is the 'stuff' that makes them sore. So, drink up!
Off again! Take care everyone!

Hey everybody - good afternoon! Daughter wanted Arby's today for lunch and I love it when I eat what I want to. Othewise there's really nothing there as far as OP. But I had the roast turkey, bacon, swiss ranch sandwich and thankfully could not eat it all. But oh how I hated eating that white bread!
On a positive note, the weather is warmer here and hubby said if he got off early enough today he would put on my "big girl friendly" bicycle seat. I hope so that way I can ride a little while when I get home.
Talk to y'all a little later!

Hello everyone; Doing the laundry right now. Isn't it a never ending job. LOL. Our big snow is melting today but we're supposed to get more tonight. Eating has been good. For dinner last night I had grilled chicken breast, coleslaw and brussell sprouts. It was so good and filling. I'm thawing out some lean pork for dinner tonight. Breakfast was 2 eggs, 2 sausages, a piece of whole wheat toast and a OJ. I'm to behind to post personal replies will do better from now on. Have a good day....

my smoothies are very basic: frozen strawberries, skim milk, splenda, and cinnamon. i like to use frozen strawberries rather than fresh strawberries and ice because the texture comes out much smoother. and i like to buy fresh strawberries and cut them up and freeze them rather than buy already frozen strawberries, because those taste weird to me.

Morning,
It is 5 am and I have already been awake for 2 hours. I had to take my sister and her finance to the air port for their vacation. Well the flight to their vacation--They aren't actually vacationing at the airport. Ha I found that quite amusing. I am beyond over tired, yet up for the day. May caffeine help me along today!!
I made my first smoothie last night. I used a cup of fat free pain yogurt, cup of frozen raspberries, 1/2 milk, tsp coco powder, and 1/4 c fiber one to add fiber. (it was my dinner) and I blended it all up with a few ice cubes. I sweetened it with some splenda. It tasted like an ice cream shake it was beyond yummy. I may be on a smoothie kick..
Ok well I hope everyone has a great day..I'll check back in later on today. :)

Happy Friday all!
Today is weigh-in day for me. I am down another 2lbs! WOW! I am thrilled as I have never watched the scale head down!
Solly- has your snow begin, yet? I am outside of Nashville and they are predicting 2-4 inches! I suppose everyone will be heading to the store for bread and milk....that's what they do here in middle TN when it is supposed to snow......apparently there was an ice storm, once and bread and milk were hot commodities! :)
Toni- is the snow alrady there?
Chrl-your eating plan is so inspiring- even with the op oreos and soup. You really inspire me!
Heart- I am learning, too, that the food i make at home is ever so much more tasty than anything in a box or can or even at an eating establishment! I am getting over those McDonalds cravings! woo-hoo!
Gym- hope you are having a fantastic Friday! I long for your energy!
Kelly- those smoothies of Chrl's and Tech's are truly "addictive." and boy are they YUMMY!
Monet- it was nice to hear from you..... keep getting plenty of R and R.
Bob???? any movie tips for us this week? We'll need 'em if we're "snowed in."
Sparkle- did you get that bike seat ready for riding?
Have a wonderful day, everybody!

Hola everybody,
Well our primaries were exciting. Texas does a double vote and yours truly had to actually run a precinct caucus, did the best I could and for my effort got to sit in the almost VIP section for Obama's rally tuesday night in San Antonio. I was so excited, screaming and all that I actually woke up without a voice wed morning. Took 2 days off to recouperate completely from it all...lol. Have been eating lots of soup and drinking lots of hot liquids. I actually feel human today. OK I know we're wimps down here in Texas. But it was super windy and colder and rainy yesterday I barely stuck my nose out the door.
I have a question about treadmill fear...lol. OK...I am scared of going any faster than 3 mph on the darn thing. In fact I wont keep going at 3mph for very long, usually can handle a constant 2.8 or so. But I watched some fitness shows and biggest loser and I see where folks are challenged to sprint for a minute or so on the thing at speeds up to 12-14mph and then they jump off on the side bars of the thing. Good grief!!!!! So please, folks am I just a big ol chicken or what? For you treadmill afficionados...how did you build up confidence and speed. I cant even do the easiest of the built in programs <sigh>.
Rosemary

Morning ladies!!
Rosie-- Hang in there with the treadmill. I had trouble doing programs at first also. Now after a month I can do them. Start out with manuel and adjust the speed yourself (Varying them and the incline) until you get comfortable with walking at higher speeds. I watch biggest loser also I know what you mean. It takes time to build your stamina up.
Howdy all I don't have long just wanted to stop by. Have a great OP day everyone.

03-07-2008, 02:35 PM
Rosie, make sure you are not holding on to the handles the whole time. You can hang onto them at first when you first get going, but then you should be able to have your arms at your sides, in a natural position. I think hanging onto the handles impedes your progress. The more you use it the better you will get at it, and it won't be so scary. I occasionally do sprints on mine and will admit that it makes me nervous....probably because if I trip or something I will go crashing into the wall that is just behind my treadmill!

hello everybody! Yep, got the "big girl friendly" bicycle seat on yesterday, so of course it turned cold, then today - snow! That's right, here in Louisiana.
It didn't stick but it was beautiful to watch as it was falling. It's pretty cold now though and will continue to be cold tonight and tomorrow. Sunday temps should climb back up into the upper 60's so I'll be on my bike then.
The eye appt visit was an "eye-opener" to say the least. He wants me back on the 27th to see a specialist. He saw a retinal tear which of course could lead to a detached retina if left untreated and worse, blindness. Treatment consists of repairing with a laser. Said it's not too uncommon in folks who have had cataract surgery (I've had both eyes done) and years of high blood sugar. I only found out I was diabetic last February so no telling how many years I had high bs.
I'm telling y'all - put that sugar down! Right now! And leave it!
Tuesday is the appt with the diabetic doctor - I sure there are no surprises there.
Have a very nice Friday night.

Happy Saturday!!
Whoo Its the weekend!
Well I made it through my up at 3 am day, wasn't even able to nap. I think i got over tired. I made it to the gym and everything.
Yesterday was another story. I was asleep by 815. I am not even kidding. I got a Greek salad for dinner, came home ate and put my Jammie's on, tried to read and fell asleep.
I did 2 classes this am at the gym, I felt very refreshed. I have to work tonight and then we are all going to the china blossom for Chinese as a group. I just home I can stay away from those damn crab Rangoon's. It just takes one and I'm finished. I'm going to hope they have steamed veggies like the place near my house does.
I went out for my Friends birthday the other night. I did alright. He drank I got club soda and lime, i did have those chips they plop in front of you on arrival. It was Mexican. I added the cheese did though :( and for dinner I had a chix fajita salad. I didn't eat the fried Tothtia it came it, so i guess that better then nothing. Dessert was sugar free cake I bought ahead of time at the bakery. It was made with white flour but It could have been worse.
sparkle2much-Enjoy the bicycle seat. Soon the weather will be improving (I HOPE) Good luck with the eye specialist. It's quite an eye opener (no pun intended) when you realize what sugar can do to your body. BLAH.
Chr-I'm glad you like the HRM and it's always nice to find out that what your doing is a good work out. I'm still impressed that you can do the whole DVD. I need the class to keep me motivated!
Mercee-Hope you have a good day!
Rosi-I agree the treadmill can be really scary if your not used to it. Char is correct though holding on isn't good. What I do is try to find a song you like that goes with speed. I feel more natural walking/running to the beat because i think of that rather then the treadmill. When I do run I never jump off..I just go as long as I can then gradually decrease the speed, its actually better for your heart rate to do it that way. Make sure you don't look down--The belt can make you dizzy--Look up at the TV or something. I find myself getting so bored that I could ceiling tiles and stupid stuff. But hey it works. Just keep telling yourself I GOT THIS>>I CAN DO IT!! You will!!
Michele-WOW your such a looser..HEHE Congrats on the 2 pounds. Id happily give you my energy if I could bottle it. Sometimes i have to admit it's caffeine induced though.
Toni and Solly-Good luck with the snow..We are just supposed to get sleet here. I'm not sure which is worse.
Heart-Yuck that doesn't sound good at all. I didn't even know they made sugar busters meals. Although now I won't waste my money on them. Thanks for telling us!
OK Everyone Have an awesome day!!! Enjoy the weekend.

Good morning ladies,
Well we got 13" of snow. Luckily is is almost gone. It really wasn't bad. I was able to go shopping Saturday on my own and yesterday the roads were great. Most of the yard is almost gone. Another good day of sun and it will be all gone. We shoveled our drive and then we went across the street and shoveled an elderly couples. They had no business attempting it. Most of the day yesterday, I scraped wallpaper off my bedroom. It is a soffit so I am looking up the entire time. My neck is sore today. I got one wall done, so Imy goal is one wall a night. I also have the batheroom and dining room to do. Anyone have any tips on getting it off easier? I am appllying hot water with fabric softner and scraping away.
Of course eating sucked this weekend. Not even going there.
Determined, congrats on your loss. Keep it going.
Toni, how much snow did you get?
Rosemary, I have heard, it you have to hold on you are going to fast. So work at your pace and then slowly build it up. Jumping off? I can't imagine. I would hit break something.
Mercee,
Sparkle, hope it warms up so you can ride your bide.
Gym, I'm with you. I love it staying lighter longer. Give you time to get out and do something. At least now we will be able to walk after dinner.
Chrgrl, You are doing great with your eating and exercising. Keep up the good work.
Monet, thinking about you and missing you. Hope you are doing well.

Hello all you Sugar Buster Ladies..... Hope you're enjoying Monday. I'm all messed up with this time change. Didn't sleep a wink last night and now can't stay awake today. But of course that will change soon I'm sure. But even little Jackson is asleep in the chair. Eating has been awful so I won't even talk about that. But I did try the treadmill a couple of days last week so that in its self is a miracle. I made a pork roast in the crockpot yesterday and I was kind of disappointed with it. I may take the rest of the meat and make taco's out of it. I'm craving mexican food.
Solly- Only had a couple of inches out of the snow thank goodness and of course its all gone. We've sure had the snow this year. I sure don't envy you tearing down the wall paper thats an awful job.
Heartmom- Well I know that sugar hangover its mine to bear this week. Don't know whats got in to me.
Gym- You are a wonder at those work outs. I so envy you with the exercise you get. I wish I was more that way. If I walk on my treadmill its just a miracle. So maybe you could send me some of that energy.
Michele- Did you get your housework done. We spent a lazy Sunday afternoon with our noses stuck in our laptops. Did get some laundry done and the stove cleaned.
Sparkle- Are the ww ritz crackers legal? I want some if they are. Of course I'd have to find them in our stores. I hope you get to ride your bike soon.
Well guess I'll go have to cook breakfast/lunch for Steve before he starts getting ready for work. Have a happy day. We're 50 degrees and I'm so happy.

i got some of the housework done.......I cleaned the stove, too. i did laundry and started on reorganizing the office. I am dragging today, though. Feel like I could sleep for a week! I went to bed at a good time, but was up at 6:00. I have to do a group tonight, and then prepare dinner......my goal is bed before 9:00! My DH called and said that he is feeling "drropy" and will probably nap when he gets home. We will get over the time change, soon, I am certain!
It is nice and sunny today. Rain in the forecast, though. I am really ready for spring!
Have a great OP day, everybody!

well, i had a terrible weekend (eating wise). i majorly binged friday and sunday. for some reason i did OK saturday...probably because i was painting the dining room ALL day. friday i ate so much ice cream i went to sleep with a stomach-ache and woke up several times during the night. sunday it all started with me being invited to chili's after church for lunch...the bad eating just continued all day. my husband is on a trip and therefore i have been all alone since friday, so i think this is the culprit. i didn't even exercise friday, saturday, or sunday...yikes! i did tons of housework (and painting), though, so hopefully this burned off some calories.
i'm back on track today (so far). i really need to get these "splurges" under control...they are becoming far too frequent and cause me to severely restrict my eating the rest of the time, which just isn't fun and leaves me feeling hungry all day.
i aggravate myself..i have been doing SO well! i have no reason to get off track like this. i know the only thing i can do at this point is to get back on track, which i am doing, but i'm still annoyed.

Hey Ladies,
Ahh today was tough with the time change. I did love driving home from work at 7 and it still being light out. I have to drive to the air pst to pick up my sister tonight at 10 so I had to make coffee. Id crash without it. Im tired now and its only 720. Yikes.
I made dinner for myself last night. My sister has been away so I have been doing a lof ot take out salad. Let me tell you those get costly after a few days..Geesh. So I threw this together.(in a baking dish).A bunch of chicken, can of no sugar added tomato sauce, 1/3 bag of peppers and onions and a can of white kidney beans rinsed well. Then I baked for an hour. It was actually really good. I almost never cook anymore so I was trying to find something different to make. I also made broccoli and green beans in the steamer. I was so proud..LOL
Solly-Good luck with the wallpaper. Use a steamer..I accidentally figured this out when I was steaming clothes too close to the wall where it was hanging. The paper just sorta fell off. OOPS. My steamer was cheap..like 40 bucks at target. I steam everything with it so it wouldn't be bad as an investment.
Heart--haha opps I figured sb was sugar busters. Funny I like the south beach diet meals, although all the sodium is not good so i try to stay away from them. And trust me I know that sugar hangover well. I had it last Sunday..Blah. Green tea helps me with the bloating.
Toni-I do well with the workouts because I don't ever take much time off. To be honest this is the longest spat in a row I have had. I have been going strong since Aug 10--That was after taking 4 months off. Everyday I make it to the gym is still a struggle. I do 98% classes. If not for the classes id never make it. I did 75 min on the elliptical machine yesterday and I wanted to kill myself after 30..Im not kidding. Also--although age doesn't mean much..Im 25 and single with out much other stuff going on. Hence why I can work 3 jobs. So no worries..:)
CHR-Hunny I hear ya with the bad eating all day. That's how I get. One bite and that's the end of it--Its like I crave and can't stop eating. That was my Sat last week. Sunday I felt like I had been run over with a truck. I'm sorry your husband is away..Your right though the only thing to do is get right back on track. Good luck. Try not to get aggravated because that will just trigger you to eat more. Just say I have come this far...I can go the distance!!
Ok guys Im off to relaz before I have to venture out again!!

good evening everyone. It's raining here, but I did get in about 30 minutes on the bike before it started. Yesterday was beautiful, after coming back from the library I sat out in the swing reading, then would ride, then read, back and forth all afternoon.
Tomorrow is the diabetic dr appt and it's weird to say this, but I am excited about going. I'm anxious to get my lab results and I've gotta get new scrips.
Toni: here is the info on the WW Ritz crackers, from the Nutrition Facts panel on the box:
Serving Size: 5 crackers
Calories: 70
Total Fat: 2.5g
Cholesterol: 0mg
Sodium: 120mg
Total Carbs: 1g

I don't eat them everyday, just for a snack once in a while, usually with sharp cheddar cheese.

Sparkle, those Ritz crackers are made with enriched flour. That is a no-no. Check the box, I'm almost sure of that.
Toni, You all were luck to miss all the snow. It is going to be 50 here. Come on Spring. Get back on that :tread: I know you can do it and get back on track (like I am one to talk).
Chrgrl, glad your hubby is ok. Men are so inconsiderate or just don't think. You have done so good, I know you can get back on track and keep on going.
Gymrat, Good for you cooking a good meal. Enjoy time with your sister. Or does she live with you?
Determined, Did you get your sleep made up? Hope you are full of energy today.
Heart, hope you are feeling better today and back on track. Have a great day.
We walked about 50 minutes last night. It was so sunny. Today it will be 50. I hope it continues to climb. I am done with snow. After dinner and our walk, we started back ont he wallpaper. DH did most of the bathroom so that is a big load off my mind. I got one wall done, 2 to go. We are getting an estimate tonight to paint our family room so I will see if he has any ideas. I would love to get him just to trim our bed and bathroom and we can paint the walls. Trimming is the worst part.
I am dragging today. Drinking lots of coffee, but it is decaf,so probably won't help. Eating is good. I'm doing at little WW and SB. Just trying to be healthy and watching portion sizes. In fact, it seems after I eat dinner I always feel sick, so I am really cutting back.
Have a great day.

Maybe hubby will eat them if he doesn't see the box. To me there is no difference in taste.
Dr appt was okay, lab not so okay, a little elevated in some areas. he has ordered a liver ultrasound on the 18th, more blood work and come back in a month.

Hey everyone,
I had an ok day yesterday. I did go to the gym and I am pretty sore. We did this cool boxing set yesterday in class with 1 pound weights. Its amazing how much 1 pound resistance adds when your punching and such. I def feel it today.
I did great until I got home from work, I got bored and there was a bad of Peanut M&m's on the table opened. (I hate it when my sister does that) And Sad to say I picked at it. It was good, but in total it was probably about 15. Lucky I had to leave after. I went to lunch with my niece and I had steak tips and 2 servings of broc instead of the rice. Dinner was healthy harvest whole wheat spaghetti and no sugar added sauce with some turkey meat balls. Those weren't legal because they were bagged, but sugar was really far down and I had about 3. So not awful.
Dessert was some sugar free waffers. Some days this whole WOE is easy..others its not. I watched the biggest looser every not and then to get motivated, and I never understand how they loose 5-6 pounds a week. I know they are closely monitored but I don't see how that is healthy, or possible for that matter.
Ok well I have to teach my 2 munchkin classes this am..I'll check back in later. its a dreary day so maybe i'll nap.
Good luck everyone!!
Solly-I live with her she was just away on vacation for a few days.

Sparkle, I think they taste the same too. Most of the products out there that say wheat are not. They need to say whole wheat. I found some crackers at Krogers that are called Grains first. They are whole wheat and taste great. They are by the deli not in the cracker aisle.
Bob, I thought you got all your movies in the mail.
Gym, It is amazing how wts add resistance. I use a 10 lb when I do wall squats and I can tell the biggest difference. Shame on your DS. Tell her to eat the M&M's and not leave them around.
Board is really slow. Where is everyone.
I got a 40 minute walk last night before I hit the wallpaper I am almost done. DH said he would try to finish it when he gets home today. He fell at work on the ice yesterday and was on the heating pad all night and did not get to help or we would be done all except the dining room, which I may wait on until after Easter since I have Easter at my house.
It is supposed to be 60 today so I plan to take another long walk. I hate missing the gym all week, but at least I am walking and moving my arm a million times scraping that paper.
My scale is moving down. It must be all this extra exercise I am getting doing the wallpaper. Even move, I am not sitting around snacking between meals. I have not had one thing between meals this week. That should tell me something. Plus I have felt sick every time I eat. So that helps too.
Have a great day.

Good morning all! We got back from Florida last night, very late. We had a great time, and the weather was good. We had quite a few cloudy days, but still managed ti get to the beach and walk outdoors. I love the west coast of Florida. It's so much different than the Ft. Lauderdale area. We stayed in Venice and I wouldn't mind retiring there.
Food was pretty good all week considering I was on vacation. I didn't gain anything, just stayed the same.:carrot: Hopefully next week I'll be down to at least 184.
I hope everyone is enjoying the extra daylight, I know I am. Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll be catching up with you all soon.

Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooo everyone. Its wonderful here in the Ozarks. Beautiful and sunny. I opened up the windows to let some good air into this place. Well I think I might be back on board with eating etc. Or at least my attitute is better so hopefully I'm going to do better. Have lots to do today, mop the kitchen, wash, etc. Also hope to get on the treadmill.
Solly- Oh my goodness that wallpaper is wearing me out. LOL. And your poor DH. Steve had a bad fall on the ice this winter and it knocked him coo coo. What color are you going to paint?
Chris- Thats great you had such a nice vacation. I'd love to go to Florida one day. Congrads on eating well.
Gym- I know how hard it is to resist when the sweets are right in front of you. I had some in my house this past week and I went on a giant sugar binge. I just have to keep them away from me. Great you only ate 15.
Bob- Hows your week going?
Sparke- Hope your liver ultrasound goes alright.
Well Steve is awake and wanting his breakfast/lunch.... Have a good day.

Hiya,
Solly-Awesome with the wall paper. I wish I could not eat between meals--I think as a whole my world revolves around food. LOL My sister got rid of the m&Ms thank gosh.
Toni-Have fun cleaning..I love to clean and then sit around and admire my handy work. Enjoy the weather its freezing and raining here. Blah
Chris-Welcome back from vacation, What part of Florida? I love Orlando and Disney. Great not gaining..I could never do that. Go you.
I taught 2 classes this am, and soon will be leaving to teach my 3rd and final class of the day. Then the gym tonight. My sister decided today that she is going to go back to weight watcher and eat healthy. (FINALLY) this will make dinners easier as she did most of the cooking. We used to cook separately as most of the stuff she has been making recently are the crock pot and violla means. All full f crap. Im excited about tonight's dinner. Fresh chicken breast, fresh broc, fresh gbeans, and salad. I can't wait to come back from the gym to such a yummy clean dinner.
The bored's have been slow Solly..Geesh Where did everyone go. Maybe if I did something other than work and eat I wouldn't think about food so much..LOL

Well shock, I have done great today. I even took a walk this afternoon. I'm so proud of myself. LOL B- cereal and a sliced banana- L- Was a lean cusine and dinner is a spinach and candian bacon quiche and a salad. I also made some cole slaw and had a tiny bowl of that for a snack. I cleaned today and did a load of wash. Tomorrow I'd better run to the store for milk and cereal.
Gym- Yes the board has been slow. Hope you had a great day...

Hi guys- Well, I'm officially back to work today. I didn't get up until 7:30 this morning. The time change is going to take a while to get used to.
I have Parker and another little girl from my church that I'll be watching today so I'll be busy. I also have my biggest child home today, my husband. He told me he'd give me a hand today around the house but so far he can't stop doing Sudoku so I'll believe it when I see it.
Gym-I was in Venice on the west coast. Very pretty and not crowded like Orlando. I'm glad to hear that your sister is getting back to healthier eating. Like you said, it makes it easier on you too.;)
Toni-I'm glad to read that you're having a beautiful day. I too will be getting some housework done today. The closer it gets to spring the easier I find it to do the chores. Have a great day!!!
Take care everyone

Toni, Who-Hoo back on track. I knew you could do it. Good job on the walk. Painting the family room and dining room a green, bedroom and bath hopefully a light blue if I can find a bedspread I like.
Gym, glad your DS wil be cooking healthy for you. That always helps.
Chris, good job not gaining on vacation. Never works for me.
Got in a 2 mile walk last night. We were short on time. DH got almost all the wallpaper off except for a 12" spot we can't reach, but we got some funriture movers so hopefully tonight it will be done. We will have to wash down the walls and put on the Kills this weekend and ready for paint. Will get the painter to do the family room as soon as we can figure out what to do with Rudy. Should either walk today (in the 70's here) or go to the gym.
Have a great day

It's a beautiful day here today, high supposed to be 75. The sunshine sure is nice.
Everything else is going along pretty good right now. Y'all have a very pleasant evening.

i have been doing horrible lately and have been too embarrassed to post my menus. i've managed to get back on track somewhat, but i don't know what the deal is. tomorrow is my first weigh-in since 2/29...i'm just hoping i haven't gained anything.
B: steel cut oats with cinnamon, lite butter, and stevia
s: coffee with an envelope of hot cocoa (not SB friendly cocoa)
L: salad with romaine, peas, chicken, feta cheese, and garlic and herb dressing
s: low fat string cheese and small banana
D: off-brand veggie burger (not good) with soy cheese and low carb ketchup
low carb tortilla with 2 T hummus
s: yet to be determined
i think part of my problem is that i've been doing SB, but also counting calories, so there are times when i cheat on SB but stay within my calorie range, so it kind of feels like i'm not really cheating. for instance, yesterday i had a piece of birthday cake and a cookie, but i still stayed under 1400 calories for the day. it's making it easier to slip in sugary foods that don't have any nutritional value, so i should really stop this.

Happy Thursday everybody.
Just been a busy week here for me. I have been struggling to recuperate from the time change, but the weather has been beautiful yesterday and today.
Eating has been good, except I had luch out yesterday, had a taco salad and ate none of the shell, but I pigged out on the chips and salsa........eating was on track today, and I am about to have a healthy SB dinner of stewed round steak with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, garlic, celery over brown rice and pintos on the side.
Tomorrow i am in a training all day. Will need to plan ahead and take a lunch so as not to be tempted to eat out. Not sure what tomorrow evening holds, as it will be my 44th birthday so DH and DD may have something in mind.
I have to do massive cleaning tomorrow evening and Sat. as my brother and his family will be here for the next few days. I am looking forward to spending time with my ball of energy 6 year old neice! She is my only neice, so I want to continue spoiling her!
Have a wonderful Friday, everybody!

Good Morning,
So I have been actually sick for a day now. I started feeling sick on Wed night, but I went to the gym and drank a ot of green tea in hope that It wouldn't turn into a full fledge cold. It did. I felt crapy all day, so no gym. I had signed up to take this new Kick boxing class at the gym I work at. I didn't go. I came home from work, had an adkins bar so I had some nutrition and went to bed.
Being sick has helped in loosing weight. I got on the scale for the first time in 2 weeks and I was down 2.5. So technically the scale says 175. I has been sick at 178/177 for so long that Im going to wain until next week to change my ticker,
I wouldn't even say my week was anything impressive. I cheated and had M&Ms on wed along with a pgk og sugar free wafers, then a few other random items. I did go to the gym sun-Wed, and im going today and tomorrow am. I just can't figure it out some weeks.
I gotta run but good luck to everyone who weighs in today!!

Good Morning
I'm in the same boat as Gymrat. I have felt yucky allweek, especially after I eat. But yeasterday, I fetl bad all day. we did manage to get in a 3 mile walk. I didn't think I would be able to finish but I did. On top of feeling bad, I have no energy. We have to wash walls and paint the Kills on tomorrow. I think I am just worn out. I'm getting too old to much after work.
No other plans for the weekend, thank goodness.
Sparkle, good job on riding your bike. What a great way to enjoy the sunshine.
Chrgrl, don't be embarrassed to confessto eating poorly. That's what we are here for. That's the same problem I had with WW. I would eat junk, but still within my point range. You can do th is, hang in there.
Michele, :hat: :balloons: Hope you have a wonderful birthday. Enjoy spoiling your niece.
Gym., hope you are feeling better today. Don't overdo at the gym right away.
Toni, Hope you are still on track. Have a great weekend.
Monet, We miss you.
Bob, enjoy your movies.
Have a great day and a great weekend everyone!

well, i weighed in today the same as 2/29. i'm very happy i haven't gained! i'm going to make a major effort to get my butt back in gear, especially for april and may. perhaps march will be a wash for me. next weekend (easter weekend) my parents will be up for a visit (from TN), and i'm sure there will be some overeating.

Sparkle: I take 1000 mg of metformin...took me a while to get the stomach upset under control. Hardly notice it anymore unless I take it and dont get to eat something soon afterwards.
Well folks I have been down in the dumps all week about our car situation. Motor needed replacing, no warranty, still making payments! Ouch...financial juggling we will repair it, but we will be paying this off for months to come.
Starting this Saturday, I will be super busy, singing for many church services. By Easter Monday I will be ready to just take the day off and do absolutely nothing to recouperate.
I am still struggling with my feet. Very frustrating...my hammer toe makes it hard for me to wear any shoes that push my foot forward too much. Well I also have a problem if I wear shoes that are too flat, I get a pain in the upper part of the foot. Just cant win at this...lol.
If been exercising minimally because of the foot. Way too much take out food still, so the scale is not budging but not going up either and I should be happy with that.
TGIF everybody,
Rosemary

Hi everyone. No working today, everyone's playing video games and I'm waiting for the coffee pot to finish. Yesterday I took Kyle to the Easter egg hunt, then worked till 1:30, then went to a movie with Shelley (Spiderwick Chronicles - it wasn't fantastic, but I liked it) then we went to get my nails filled, then roamed the mall a tiny bit before getting KFC for dinner and watch a Sabres game. I was exhausted by bed time.
I'm pretty much not even doing SB anymore and eating like a :ink: . No weight gain - yet. But I feel like poop. Pretty much all I had yesterday was movie popcorn, diet soda and the KFC. No veggies, no fruits just totally greasy, heavy crap. It tastes good going down, but I always know I'm going to pay for it.
Derek had a phone interview with Rite Aid last week. At first they said, "We really need someone in Burlington, VT, Northern NH (which is so rural, they couldn't list a town) and Portland/Bangor Maine. Here's what I found in the choices: Burlinton: So expensive, that houses that are the same dollar amount as the one we live in here look like abandoned crack houses and houses that look like what we have here (100+ years old, 1500 sq ft with three bedrooms with a small fenced in yard) are more like $250k. So, on to Northern NH - if I moved my kids to a MORE rural area than we live in now, they'd kill me. On to Maine. Not bad, I must say. We looked into Augusta because Kyle knows the capitals to all the states and would love to live in one. Problem is that the drastic-ness of moving so far away (at least 8 hours) means that Derek would have to move there alone and I would hardly see him again until late in the summer when I can get out of my lease with the Barber Shop and packing, etc. If we picked Burlington, which is 4 hours away, Derek could at least come home on the weekends, but 8 hours away, by the time he gets home and rests from the drive, he'd have to go back. Not to mention the cost.
So, Derek mentioned to the guy that called him if there was any shot at something in New York state and he sent his resume to someone else that interviewed him over the phone and mentioned something that they may need someone in Utica, NY, which is between Syracuse, Albany and Binghamton. So, we're going with that and hoping that something comes up. He's hoping he'll get the job and they'll see they need someone up here as much as down there, but if we have to, moving to south of Syracuse is much better, for us, than Maine. I'm sure Maine is a great place, but the logistics of us making a move like that with kids going into high school and second grade is just too drastic for us. Keeping it close to home is much more acceptable.
Prayers, fingers and toes crossed that he gets this job...and the pay is decent and it all works out.
The barber shop is holding its own. I'm glad its mid-March and the summer people are starting to filter back into town. I can't believe I'm saying that, but only a business owner here can be happy to see the income of the summer people. I hope we don't have to move so I can keep it going. I'm starting to bond with my customers.
So, once Derek gets back to work and we can get into a more permanent schedule, I'm hoping to eat better. I'm so tempted by ease and cost at this point. It's so much easier to grab a donut than scramble some eggs. When I was home, I had the time. Now, its all about convenience.
Okay...gotta run. I'm going to see if I can keep it healthy today. Simply because if I eat like crap, I feel like crap. If I eat healthy, I feel healthy. I wish I could remember that when making my choices.

Well, I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go! My husband was supposed to be back by 9:40 so we could go to church and he just called to say he's just leaving his client's house. Mind you, the guy lives 35 minutes away. I'm not walking into church 45 minutes late. My husband has no sense of time. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal, but I told some of the women that go to my church that I'd be there today. Better luck next week!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I am very tired, but have been pushing myself to get the house in order. During the week it gets messy from watching Parker and now Grace (the girl from church). The only time I really have to go at it is on the weekends and I'd rather just rest-LOL. I also have been working evenings for 3 hours Mon-Thurs so I've had it by Friday. I think it's time to find a different job. A friend of mine at my evening job says I am still young enough to work for the state. I could put in 20 years and retire with a pension and full medical. That's very tempting since my husband is self employed and our major medical is a huge expense for us. Plus, come September both our daughters will be in college and the cost of that is also exorbitant. It's also the right time to take on a full time job for me since the girls will both be out of the house. I was a stay at home mom for 18 years before I started watching Parker and working in the evenings. I'm going to put some applications in and see what comes of it.
Solly-I hope you get some of that energy back. I think maybe you're burning the candle at both ends with all the wallpapering and prepping for painting. That type of work is exhausting when you don't do it all the time. Good for you for getting those walks in though!!
Sparkle-Enjoy that 75 degree weather, it makes life a lot easier. It's been nothing but gray and dreary here. Good for you riding that bike. I'm determined to get either a treadmill or bike so I have no excuse not to exercise.
Chrgrl-I know how you feel. I was doing the same thing on vacation. I would stay within my calories but not make the best selections. Try to only do that a couple times a week, that way you still get to have something sweet but at the same time feel like you're OP. You will still lose.
Dtrmnd-Your dinner sounds delicious. Did you make it in a crock pot? I think I may just steal that from you and try it this week. Enjoy your time with your niece. Happy belated birthday!:bday2:
Gym-I hope you're starting to feel better. Don't get down on yourself about good days and bad days-that's life. There is no such thing as perfect. With all the exercising you do, a few m&m's aren't going to make you gain weight. When I really want something I have it. If I don't then I just keep obsessing about it and I end up doing more damage than if I just ate the one thing I really wanted. Congrats on the 2.5 pound weight loss!!:carrot:
Rosie-Don't let that car get you down! Everything will work itself out-it always does. Now that hammer toe is another story. Can you have it fixed? I know they are very painful at times. I hope this week brings you lots of smiles. This is a wonderful time of year- Easter is right around the corner:bunny2:
Blessings,
Christine

It's not easy to move when a child is in high school, you have my sympathy!! Hang in there and keep us posted. I'm sure once things have settled down a bit you will get back on track. I know when things are unsettled in my life, food is the first thing to fly out the window. Take care.

Hi all,
I am new...I haven't even got my SB book yet but based on my Googling, I think I can stick with SB. You guys seem so nice. I've read some of the posts. I am at my heaviest right now. I weight 260 approximately, maybe a bit less. I have never succeeded at a diet in my life. I'm just disgusted with myself. I feel terrible, I look terrible. Blah. I work FT and have a very overweight but in denial husband and an 8 year old son that falls into the obese category. We could all use an overhaul. I will dig into the book shortly. I look forward to getting to know you all better. Thanks for letting me post.

MONET UPDATE!!!!
I got an email from MONET Saturday morning. She and her Brood are fine...the TORNADO DID NOT COME HER WAY!!! THANK GAWD!!! I was worried about them...the way they talked on TV and the ONLINE version of the ATLANTA JOURNAL, I couldn't tell...confussion...Those poor people
AND SOLLY...I feel for all of those SEC fans who got screwed out of seeing the game....Although today the SEC Commish did explain...
SEC officials said they had no choice but to bar most fans from attending. They were told there might not be enough police officers to provide full security at the remaining games in view of the massive damage in downtown Atlanta. Also, the league worried about opening up the coliseum to general-admission seating and having far more fans converge on the building than could possibly get in.
"I understand the frustration," SEC associate commissioner Charles Bloom said. "But we were forced into this by a situation that doesn't come around very often."
One fan from Lville was so frustrated that the said he was moving his Loyalty to U of L....now that's frustration!!! Your DH would be pleased at getting ONE MORE FAN FOR THE CARDS but that's a bit drastic...this happened from AN ACT OF GOD and I don't think they have much to complain about...they did escape with their lives after all....
CONGRATS ON THE CATS getting into the NCAA and not the NIT....BILLY was so MAD...DID YOU GET TO SEE HIS REACTION....I'm sorry, but I just don't like that man....
We got a #3 seed and play Friday night at 8 p.m.
CHRGRL...DON'T QUIT SB BECAUSE YOU HAD A BAD EATING EXPERIENCE...These Ladies can vouch for me...I'm a terrible eater and have been on this way of eating for years....I lose then I eat...I'm still here...you WILL NOT find a better bunch to converse with! PLEASE STAY!!
GYMRAT...WEEKENDS are really slow...and the slow down on the board was so expected...it happens every year...You're doing GREAT....just continue on...it will pick up again...
TECH....everything will work out the way it's supposed to...I wouldn't want you to have to give up the shop....
I've got everything crossed for y'all....and I'll even click my heels together if you want me too. THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.....THERE'S NOT PLACE LIKE HOME......
WELCOME FLUFFY....Stick around...we're a GREAT GROUP....
CHRISTINE....Get some rest GIRLFRIEND....it's hard to run after a little one..
ROSEMARY...do you lose weight on your metformin???
TONI...I haven't forgotten about your book...it's sitting right here!!! That doesn't get to you any sooner....I'll get it there...you know what a procrastinator I am....
Hope I didn't miss anyone....but it feels like I did...I'm sorry, so I'll  in advance...
Taking KATE to the DOC on Monday morning...it's time for her yearly checkup...She's fine as far as I know, but you know DOCS...they dig up more than you want to know sometimes.....

Morning Folks,
Whew...I survived a busy weekend. But today is the only day I do not have to sing this week. Hubby is making corned beef and cabbage today. Happy St. Patties Day!!!!!!
Bob, before I was put on metformin, I was on prandin for diabetes which stimulates insulin and I was gaining weight on it. As soon as they switched me to metformin only, I dropped about 15 extra lbs that I had put on. So I guess the answer is yes, on metformin I do lose weight. <smile>.
Just one more crazy physical problem <sigh>. I dont know if stress can trigger premenopausal symptoms. For the past 4 days, I have been extremely jittery and profusely sweaty. I hate it. Started taking some black cohosh right away and it is suppose to help with the sweats. YUCK.
OK...time to get to work.

Hello everybody, how are y'all doing? I'll be going for my liver ultrasound in the morning. I'm sure they won't tell me anything though.
Went to my mom's Saturday and helped her in her yard. Got back late so I didn't ride the bike, but I hope the yard work was a good substitution. Did ride yesterday for 45 min, but not all at once.
It's a beautiful day here, prolly 80 or so degrees. Gotta get home and get that riding time in.
Anyone here watch The Sopranos on A & E tv last night? I don't have HBO so I never saw the show before A & E picked it up and started it. Now I'm hooked on it. I also watch The Shield, Rescue Me and I will admit to Monday Night Raw also.
Have a nice afternoon.

We went to Lowe's and got a new screen door, its just a cheapie till we can afford a good one. But I wanted one so bad. Can't wait till Steve puts it up.
Bob- I'm so glad to hear Monet is fine. Thanks so much for letting us know. I'm not worried about the book I'll love it when I get it. Hope Kate's doctor visit went okay.
Sparkle- Good luck with your scan tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you and praying for good results.
Rosemary- Hope everything gets lined out with you.. Feel better!!!
Stacy-:welcome: Its good to have you with us. Tell us more about you....

HEY EVERY BUDDY!!
We went to the DOC this morning.....11:30 a.m. and he hadn't even gotten to the office yet! We sat there, the only patients in the place for 40 minutes...I finally asked his office manager to call him because we can visit with each other at home.
They couldn't reach him, he didn't answer his cell phone and she said to me, "that's why I don't call him...he doesn't answer the phone!" She then told us to go on home and she would take take of shy we were there. Kate takes Lortab at night for her back and plus it helps her sleep. She has to visit the Doc every 6 months whether she's got a problem or not because it's a controlled drug and the Feds could get him for that. So, we came on back home......
I've done the laundry, and am about to climb up in the bed to watch TV...I've been watching 48 hrs on WE. They are doing the story about the young couple who have been featured on drug ads when he says. "I'm freezing, my girlfriend is freezing....help us." It's an unbelievable story....
They were high on crystal meth.
I haven't watched the movies...I've gotten stuck watching TV....then before I know it, it's too late to start one...so I've already got this coming weekend's picks!
I'm off to tuck TIPPY in....

Hello Everyone,
Doesn't it just figure I finally star loosing and then I cheat. I wasn't guilt ridden though. I highly enjoyed my corned beef and cabbage wirh carrots and A few potato pieces. The killer was the Irish Soda Bread with the real butter. YUM. Although I wasn't a fully planned cheat, Sun night we decided we were going to have it for Monday. I also did have 4-5 thin mint girl scout cookies. I have wanted them for some time now..So I ate them, had tea brushed and went to bed. I feel fine today so hopefully I can just jump right back in. I kept the rest of my day very light, and almost carb free to help. I also went to the gym for 90 min and I plan to go for at least an hour today. Phew!
I only have to work a half day today so that's great..Im happy. I just hope I don't get bored and find something bad to eat. That's what happened last week.
BOB-That sucks about the Dr. What a pain in the butt when something like that happens. Enjoy your movies this weekend.
Toni-How are ya!!! Hope you enjoyed your corned beef..I Know I did!!
Sparkle-Good luck on the ultrasound.
Rosi-Hope you also enjoyed your corned beef..How are you hands from all the salt? Mine arn't too bad I drank a ton before I went to bed in hopes.
Monet-We are all still thinking about you!! Glad you missed the tornado..
Stacy-Welcome. I agree for the most part the concept is simple..It sometimes just gets tricky when your mind o body wants what it can't have. HA. Good luck with your start and check back often!!
Chris-Ahh I ahte to be dressed with no place to go..Maybe thats why I live in gym clothes..HAHA. Thanks..I know Just trudging along eventually something will give!!
Solly-Thanks--I hope you start to feel better as well. Being even slightly sick isn't fun..Blahhh
Tech, Mercee, chr, Determd, and anyone else I forgot-I hope you all have a great day..

HI ladies
I posted yesterday or thought I did, but I don't see it.
We got 2 coats of paint on the bedroom last night. I was exhausted, but of course could not sleep. It was after midnight before I fell asleep and my alarm did not go off this moring so I was 15 minutes late for work and missed an appt to get my labs done. Oh well.
Bob, I hate waiting in a doctor's office. They never consider your time. I don't expect the Cats to go any further. It was a bad situation, but nothing could be done about it. I really like Gillispe. I think he has turned the program around. I've heard rumors he was leaving for Oklahoma. Who knows.
Toni, You are getting another puppy? Wow how exciting. I have enough trouble taking care of 1, much less 3. I didn't get any corned beef and cabbage yesterday, but had a Reuben Sat night so I guess that can count.
gym, don't wrry about the cheat. Better not to do it, but better to just get back on plan. You workout so much you probably won't even notice it.
Fluffy, I welcomed you in my ghost of a post, but will do it again. This is a great froup for support. I was at the same wt as you when I started this WOe. I made it a year w/o cheating. Then I did, and it became easier and easier. Be prepared and plan ahead is my best advice. Good luck.
Sparkle, I wish it were 80 here. I am so envious. Enjoy your ride.
Rosemary, check into the Cohosh, I have hear it can promote breast cancer.
Chris, Chrgril, Determined, and anyone else I missed  not time to go back and post for yesterday.
Have a great day.

Oh my gosh my corned beef and cabbage turned out the best ever. It was wonderful. Today I had a sandwich out of it. Yum. We're having giant rain it hasn't stopped since yesterday evening. We so far have 7 1/2 inches and the rain keeps coming. I can see the river from my front door and its out of its banks. We have a small creek in the front yard and its covered half the lawn. So its bad here.

Good morning everyone. I have to make this short today, the weather is bad and I already had 1 power outage. Welcome Stacy!:welcome3: I think you'll find this board very helpful and friendly. I love to check in and see what everyone's up to. Good luck with your healthier plan of eating.
I finally broke the 185 mark. I weighed in at 183 this morning:carrot:. Now that I have at least 30 posts I'm going to try to get a weight tracker and post some pictures when I have time.
Have a good day all:)

Good morning
It is raining buckets here. We have several flooded areas. If it's not snow it is rain. I am so ready for Spring & summer weather.
We got the bathroom painted last night. DH will take off all thetape and put back the switch plate covers tonight. I cleaned my furniture and mopped my bedroom floor, so it is almost back to normal.
Tonight I have bunco after I get my nails done.
Toni, we are getting all your rain too. It is miserable. Hope you don't need a boat soon.
Sparkle, please keep us posted on the outcome of your ultrasound. Hope it is all good.
Chris, :cheer: on your loss. I love when I get to a good new number. Soon you will be in the 170's.
Better run, lots to do today. Have a great one!

Solly...are you one of those gals who grabs them bunco 6s using full advantage of her nails...lol. My mom belonged to a bunco club and I was always a last minute substitute if needed and boy did I cringe when I played against those ladies with sharp long nails!!!!
We had mud rain in San Antonio yesterday, yuck...everybody's car is now covered with terrible brown stains.
Did anyone catch the new show on TLC, "I can make you thin" on Sunday night? He talked about eating what ever you want just learning how to eat slowly and learning when you are full. This sunday he will talk about eating for comfort and tackling cravings.
DH didnt get to make our corned beef on Monday because he was busy with our continued car problems. He swears he is going to make it today.

Yesssss I know I've been MIA for a bit, but I promise I haven't been bad!! Actually I've lost 5 more pounds!!;)
Anyway... it's been CRAZY busy at work and I hardly have time to get online at all... but I wanted to check in and say hello to everybody and let you know that you don't need to send BOB... unless she's bringing you all to come help dig me out from under the paperwork on my desk!!!!! :dizzy:
So today it thunderstormed all morning, and my kid was so peeved because it's his 16th birthday and he wanted to go get his license sooooo bad. Well at 1pm I noticed the sun shining, and I drove home and got him and prayed for a miracle... we walk into the DMV and there's NOBODY there!!! He went straight out for his road test... passed it... and it started raining again! Talk about blessings... I THINK! Anyway, now he's excited and I'm terrified, but I'll get over it!
Hope everyone is doing well... we've passed around numerous illnesses in our house, but everyone is on the mend.
I'll check in again soon, I promise!!!

Hi ladies,
Sorry I couldn't get here yesterday. I was here until 6:30 it was crazy, then had church and then had to get a ham.
Most importantly, I wanted to wish Monet a happy birthday yesterday. :balloons: :hat: :cheer: Hope you had a special day and it was wonderful like you.
Gym, sorry you are sick Hope you are all better by Easter.
Beth, good to see your post. Congrats on your 5 lb loss, that is awesome. Hope you can post more often. I can relate with the paperwork.
rosemary, I wish I would have seen that show. I never know when I am full unless I'm stuffed to the gills. My nails aren't that long. We have one lady who wins 1st prize every month.
Bob:  Have a great weekend. Any Easter plans?
Toni, Happy Easter!!
I want to wish everyone a very Happy Easter. See you Monday.
