Default Stupid Leap Day

Alright ladies, I need some help. The girls in my office decided to bring in treats and chips and stuff to celebrate Leap Day (they celebrate anything) and I really want to stay on track. Everything looks so good. Yesterday I promised myself I wouldn't stray past the veggie tray, but temptaion is so hard. Can I get a little encouragement? Just a smidge?

First of all, I KNOW you can resist the temptation because you took the time to write about it on here. Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing this in the first place. Write a list of reasons why you should resist the goodies. Post it on here if you want. I know it is hard to resist, but you will feel SO good about yourself at the end of the day.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Go look yourself in the mirror. Seriously. Look into your eyes and you say outloud: "I want this more than I want any food in the world."

Stick around 3FC or read some goal stories for encouragement

They do celebrate everything, don't they!

Office temptations are the worst! Be strong! You can do it!

With me, I just have to stay away. Not a taste, nibble, or bite.

Alright, here goes

I should resist these goodies because
  • I am strong
  • Treats are good for a couple minutes but being healthy and looking good can last a lifetime
  • I didn't wake up early and work out for nothing

Thanks Casey, I think that helped. You girls are all so awesome.

That's huge- I am much more resistant to goodies when I am feeling good from a work out. I just don't want to blow it, you know?

You can do it!!.. Everyday at my office someone pops a bag of popcorn... I LOVE popcorn. But do I eat it...no..why because I want to look better come summer time. Today there is a silent auction. They had free cookies and muffins and danish.. big muffins.. chocolate chip and berry.. and well I stopped looking then...but did I take one...no.. why? because I am the only one who can stop me. I took a bottle of water instead. and it feels so good to say no. You can just say no too!! you can do it!!

I found my way to the veggie tray, and I am perfectly happy with my broccoli, celery and carrots. You guys are great.

way to go! My last job I worked in an office like this...an office filled with southern women all determined to outdo the others with the dishes they bring...I actually think I can blame about half the pounds I gained while I worked there on work potlucks, with all the cheesecakes and bbq and fried treats (sitting on a table right outside my office door...I mean all I had to do was turn my head to see the array!) ....Now I just tell myself that the food isn't meant for me, that the enjoyment is too short lived and can't match the enjoyment of seeing the pounds drop on the scale, that given its flu season someone surely has contaminated everything with germs...whatever it takes for me to say no. Luckily my new office does not have nearly amount and frequency of temptations that the old one did. Stay strong!
