Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has ever made a "traditional" pizza with all CORE ingredients (crust and all) and if they would share the recipes with me?

I thought I would CORE this week after almost two years on FLEX. (I've lost more than 95 pounds just doing this.)

I wanted to try something a little different.

We have a pizza casserole in our recipe list but no "traditional pizza" as far as I know.

I'm not on Core but there are a few things that you could do that would probably be Core....

Portabella pizzas - put pizza ingredients on a portabella mushroom cap and put it in the oven. Try this without cheese, it is really good.

Whole grain pizza crust/pita pizzas - same thing basically.

I bought a whole grain pre-made pizza crust from Trader Joe's, I covered it with tomato sauce, spices, veggies (no cheese) and put it in the oven. It was really good.

Again, the only question would be if the whole grain pizza crust would be Core or not.

It wouldn't be core - made with processed flour. If it were, bread would be core.

No such luck on pizza being CORE because of the crust. But, I do have a great low point recipe for crust (it's whole wheat) and a fantastic recipe from the WW Pizza cookbook that is core. Then it's up to you what toppings you put on it in order to keep it CORE.

Hello...some of my family members are Celiac's, so they have to eat gluten-free foods, which means no wheat. Here is a recipe for Veggie Pizza with a gluten-free pizza crust that my sister has made. I haven't made it yet, but I think I will try it this weekend. I think the only non-Core product is the mozza cheese, but if you can find FF mozza or soy mozza that would work also. Here you go:

Veggie Pizza with gluten-free Crust

2 cups brown rice, uncooked
4 cups water or vegetable broth
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1/16 teaspoon Tabasco sauce or red hot sauce

1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 1/2 cups grated mozzarella cheese, , divided
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 medium green pepper, seeded and sliced
1 medium sweet red pepper, seeded and sliced
1 medium fresh tomato, , sliced
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

RICE CRUST-----------------.

Preheat oven to 400 F degrees.
In a medium size saucepan, add rice and water or broth.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
Fluff rice with a fork and set aside to cool slightly.
In a mixing bowl, combine cooked rice, beaten egg, mozzarella cheese and Tabasco sauce and mix well.
Press mixture evenly into a lightly greased 12 inch pizza pan, covering bottom and sides.
Bake in preheated 400 F oven for 4 minutes or until set.
Remove from oven and let cool slightly before adding filling.

In a mixing bowl, stir together tomato sauce, garlic, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, oregano, basil, Italian herb seasoning and black pepper.
Spread sauce mixture over the bottom of the rice crust.
Sprinkle over with 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese.
Arrange sliced mushrooms, green peppers, red peppers, sliced tomatoes, and sliced red onion in layers.
Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of remaining mozzarella cheese over top.
Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Bake in preheated 400 F oven for 15 minutes or until cheese bubbles.
Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
You can also use chopped fresh broccoli as another vegetable.[/COLOR] [/FONT]

It's not core, but only one point, as long as your pizza sauce is core. I use the ww pita bread (only 1 point), but my friend loves using the high fiber tortillas (only 1 point as well). Either way, it is only 1 point for the crust, and as long as you make the toppings core and use minimal pizza sauce, it will be only 1 point. Also need to use ff cheese. (

how about using Polenta as a crust? Ive seen some recipes online using it, heard they're great, I am planning on trying them this coming week. Hope that helps a little
