Happy Friday!

Looking forward to a 3 day weekend at home! Made a nice dinner last night for DH of stuffed mushrooms, salmon, asparagus, and salad- I bought sf ice cream to try- I am having problems with sugar- and it wan't bad. Today is an easy day, and I expect to be home early.

So, no smoking chicken or anything else til I get here! No thingies, no thongies, no nothing! You guys are too much.

see you later-

Morning everyone!

Hey, we are more than halfway through February! I got a shot of spring yesterday when I visited Lurker Lorraine - she has a basement full of cuttings and seedlings ready to go out to the greenhouses when they get cranked up. My green thumb is itching. I also tried out their treadmill - no way one will fit in my basement! Next idea....? I need a bigger house.

VD dinner was great last night - my sad friend seemed to enjoy herself. Her ex is giving her grief over money that was supposed to have all been settled years ago so she is not really in a hearts and flowers mood. A few puppy licks helped.

Yesterday I finally took a realistic look at my sewing room projects. Would you believe I bought 2 pantsuits and 6 pair of slacks before Christmas and have not altered much of it yet - just one pantsuit. I hate being short! I must admit I did get carried away because they were size 18 and on sale. Better get going or I'll be into summer stuff.

Today I need to do lots of phoning regarding the Habitat for Humanity project. Our first fund raising project will be a class in "pysanky", making those fancy Ukrainian Easter eggs. Sounds like a fun day but it is also the day we close on the condo sale so I will miss the fun part. I also need to go over to the office to pay some bills and make some arrangements for the Convention in Toronto next week. It is the Ont. Association of Agricultural Societies - OAAS - pronounced "Oh ***"! I decided not to go this year - would rather stay at home with my furry babies.

Better get cranked up.

TGIF even thought I am "retired".

Well Dottie and Ruthie, sounds like you two are having some seriously busy Fridays and mine is no exception! I have to get caught up on long overdue housework since I have been too busy doing this and that in reagrds to my impending position. I put in my criminal reference check yesterday and I won't get it back for a week. They told me that I will be put on the list of supply teachers so I don't know if that means I am starting or what have you. They promise to tell me more next week.

As for my dh, he deserves a swift kiss on the mouth! He didn't have dinner with the bigwigs--he was lying because he wanted to surprise me! We went out for Chinese food yesterday, what a sweetie, eh?

Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Friday!

Not much new to report. I'm still messing around w/taxes and fafsa's (government reports so my kids can get financial aid for school). P.U. We've had the taxes done professionally the last few years so I'm a little out of the loop w/the new tax laws -- but this year my calendar was open so I decided to save the $110 and do them myself. It's worth it -- but I'm creaking reluctantly back into the jargon of irs form-speak. Double P.U.

I downloaded the new version of Internet Explorer last night -- supposed to have more safeguards if you're doing online money transactions. It said it was going to take an hour and a half and it did! So, I kept 1/2 an eye on that and watched Stanley and Iris w/Jane Fonda and Robert DeNiro -- great movie!

Got a date w/my honey tonight...cruising Wal Mart and then someplace cheap to eat -- it's what we do best!

Have a great day, chicks!

Sooner

ps Thanks Susan and Dottie for the warm birthday wishes! Warms my heart to read them!

Morning All!!!

Whew! You guys are hoot! Thongies, smoking chickens, metal bras and the like! :D:D:D

Today is payday, which means it's bill day, which means I get to be appalled by watching all our money get sent to other people! I also have grocery shopping and party decorations to pick up.

Tomorrow my DD is going to get to go horseback riding. She keeps talking about horses and we (thankfully) know someone who actually owns a few and is going to let her see one up close and see if she still likes them. They are just SO big to a 5 y/o so we'll see how that goes.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I'm going to go hit the treadmill and down some water. Seems that the coffee is getting better -- I've eliminated all coffee after 1pm, so that might help!

:wave:Bye

Chickadee's Rules for Smoking a Chicken
1. Newspaper works just fine to roll them in. Or, grocery bags have been known to work too (printed side in, please!)
2. Always light the neck end. That way, when you get to the end, you really and truly have a butt!
3. Fowl from Havana are generally considered among the finest.
4. Sometimes, when they just won't light, you just have to give up and say "what the Pluck?"
Bet you're sorry you asked now, aren't you, you smarty pants girls?

I am so stoked! I have been too chicken (should I choose another word?) to get on the scale because of my recent bout with stuck-edness, but I did get out the measuring tape today. Yippee, skippee this exercise and diet thing actually works!
In a month I lost 1" off the bosom area (if only the side boobs would melt soon I'd be really happy!), 2" from my waist, 1" from my thigh, 1/2" from my upper arm and (drum roll please...) 4.5" from my hips! I had to check three times to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. I guess those Walk Away the Pounds Tapes might have something do to with this!

Have a great weekend you all!
Your Smokin' Chickadee

here's the edit: I forgot the best part of all. I went to my daughter's honor breakfast this morning and a good friend of mine, who I haven't seen in a couple of months, came up and said I look like I'm melting away. How nice was that?

Not really, but 4.5 from the hips????? I am so jealousssssssss!! You know, my sister and I have coined new phrases for body parts, but we never came up with side boobs. She has butt back though, imagine that! Actually, her back is rounder than her butt, but don't tell her I said so! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, I am off to don the Captain Hook eyepatch. I scare my daughter half to death, she says I look like a one-eyed monster. For kicks, I may smoke a chicken tonight:smoking:

OK - Side Boobs? When my sis and I were about 7, we thought that the little pad of fat at the front of the armpit moved down when you were about 13 and became boobs.
Didn't happen - we both still have them. Anybody else?
