Doing anything special for Valentine's Day?
We are having Prime Rib - a great looking two rib roast - with roasted potatoes and sprouts. Now that we have two dogs we need two bone roasts all the time. No Yorkshire with it - DH complained once too often that my Yorkshire pudding was not as good as his sainted Mother made! So I quit. Extra carbs anyhow.
I have a friend who is pretty down lately - over money and men - and will ask her over but not stress the Valentine Theme. The dogs will wear red bows - but they always dress for company anyhow! (You think I'm kidding?)
Right now I am going to take a nice bubble bath and then get dressed to go out for coffee. My pal Lurker Lorraine and I should get together more often in the non-garden season. Then I have to take my car to the dealer - yes, AGAIN - now the air bag light is flashing! There's always something, isn't there? The good news is that my bloody eyeball is not quite as bloody today.
By the way, after today's VD challenge posting, I am giving up weighing myself for Lent. Anybody else making a big sacrifice? LOL

Not doing anything special today--as a matter of fact, dh told me he might have to go out to dinner with the work bigwigs that are in town today! Nice Valentine's, eh?
Have just a few minutes, got a pt session scheduled for 9 and then I have to run back and help out with the last minute kitchen finishing stuff. All I know is that there is going to be a lot of painting in my future!

Happy V-day everyone!! IT is cloudy here today but nice and warm...kids have been haviing fun with Grandma and PaPa. My brother and girlfriend came over last night for dinner, my brother is coming to visit me in a couple of weeks he is giving us his dog...a huge 80 lb boxer. He is a sweetheart. His girlfriend is a flight attendant and they travel alot so they want us to have him....he loves kids so he will be better suited to us anyway...
Have taken a long walk everyday so at leaqst I have been exercising....starting home early Saturday...talk to you all then!!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
I Heart You all!
My sweet daughter gave me chocolate this morning! Two different kinds! Good thing I'm on CAD otherwise I'd have to give it away and not let her know. I also plan on sharing most of it with both kids, which I'm sure never, ever crossed her mind when she gave it to me. :dizzy:
Sooner, my Sweets Yep, the lights are getting kind of annoying, but actually they're working out for the best! I think what's happened is that I've invented my own version of one of those shocky, ab-machine thingies that are so popular right now. Every time a light twinkles, I get a little electrical burst and a bit more flab melts away! I have to be careful when I'm all sweaty though, because some of those little shocks are downright zingy! DH is getting a little tired of me being decorated. I set them to the slow blink setting when I go to bed, and then I say, "ooh look honey, I'm turned on, turned off, turned on, turned off" He's exhausted!
Ruth I've been extra good and gave up weighing a couple of weeks ago, just so I'd be good at it in time for lent. No sacrifice is too much!
Pooks I sure hope you use both hands when you're painting. Otherwise, with as much as you do, you're going to be lopsided!
Peachie-keen I hope you have an absolutely marvelous velentine's day, you sweet thing. I hope your boys give you a crooked-y, homemade, misspelled valentine that will make you get all misty and you'll keep for years. Those are my favorite kind!
I gave my sweet husband his favorite candy and a blooming plant and a mushy card today. Of course, I told him that getting cancy and flowers makes him no less manly! Tonight I'm smoking a chicken and will have a fabo meal for the family. All's well here!

Tomorrow is dd 5th birthday. I can barely believe it. She is having her first real birthday party and I've been frantically searching for game/activity ideas. Looks like I'm going to go with a pinata. It should be fun.
SOONER!!! - What a small world. The population of Sitka is only 8500 (on a good day). I grew up there (25 years) and am wondering if I know your SIL's family???? Wow! It always amazes me whenever I run into someone who has actually HEARD of Sitka.
Dh got me a new sweater, a cookbook and a kiss! Plus he called first thing to say Merry Valentines! I got him a heavy bag (punching bag) -- I think it's more for me than for him, but we'll see. I REALLY need to get back on that treadmill -- I think I'll go do that right now.

LOL ok... sorry I just had to be a bit of a smart a$$. ;) that sounds like a great dinner.
It is our 4th wedding anniversary today. Instead of going to dinner or anything like that though we have our last prenatal class. I guess that could count as romantic... at least we will be together... and watching at least one movie... of course it will be of other women giving birth.... I gave hubby part of his present this morning... or at least I left it on his chair... he was asleep when I had to leave (our schedules tend to be opposite to each other right now). The rest he will get later. :love:
I'm so proud of myself... at school today a bunch of the kids brought me candy, one of the parents even made me HOMEMADE caramels! I did eat one, but then I took the rest of the candy to my OB appointment and gave it to the office staff. They were very touched (I got in before a bunch of people who had arrived before me ;) ) and I won't be tempted to eat it.
I hope everyone has a great day/evening.

Lara! I like you! Not only because you gave your candy away because you asked Chickadee the exact same question that I would have! Waiting not so patiently for the answer!
Got kind of a good news bad news sort of post. The good news is I am down 3.2 pounds total of 4.6 for two weeks.
The bad news is that I now know which classroom mom makes the best cutesie chocolate hearts. She happens to be one of those tiny people that can actually tuck her shirt into her zippered jeans. I hate her....and all her other shirt tucking zippering jean wearing friends. Well! Now that I have offended half of the population, let me say that sugar for me is evil and it started all innocently enough with a couple of licks of frosting while trying to find just the right shade of pink for the cutesy little heart cakes I made my boys.(breathe here) Next year they get boxers with cutesie little heart thingies on them. It was down hill all day after those licks and it was ugly!
Thingy, Thingies, thongies....all very versatile and descriptive words doncha think?
And yes, my boys gave me some of those lovely school made hearts and boxes (not boxers) that I have waited for what seems to be all my life for! LOVE THEM! But! enough of the red dye all ready...it makes them evil.
So, tomorrow a new day, a gallon of water and protein with everything and sugar only ten minutes before I can sleep it off!
oh oh oh...saw Jiff, who was kind enough to give my boys only BLUE dye in there lollies and she looks absolutely fantastic...even her face looks great and healthy and WOW! She's gonna be a looker! AND even when she gets to tuck her shirt into her zippered jeans I am still going to kick her in the shins and then hug her!

Ruth, I just had to fill you in. The eye thing I was telling you about last night? Well, I must have gone to sleep with you on my mind, because I woke up this morning with ANOTHER hole in my eye. Same eye, just a smidge over from the other one. I think I must be going to sleep on my Serta and waking up in a bed of nails.:lol: Anyway, same routine, same eyedrops (at least I don't have to buy some more!) and eyepatch. I'm destined to be single for the rest of my life.:(
I am actually ROTFLMFAO at you chicks tonight, flashing lights, thingy-thongies and all. I love you guys!
