I am taking a little vacation from my counting calories and have decided to do a detox! It's a really good one - and I cannot wait until I am done and am feeling good! It's called Wild Rose Detox (it's canadian too!)- and I'm doing it to rid my body of yeast and get my stomach balanced. It's not a huge difference from my normal diet so it should be a smooth transition. I am really excited! :carrot: 2008 is the year I get my body healthy and feel GOOD, I've had some rough years and don't want to be that person who is always sick.

Anyways - wish me luck! 1 day down, 11 to go! :)

Good luck Aimee! What is involved in the detox?

02-15-2008, 10:29 AM
Good luck...what is it you are going to do. Is this to detox from sugar?

02-15-2008, 11:37 AM
Good luck! What does this do and what do you take?

Good luck Aimee!!!!

Thanks gals :)

What's involved in this detox is eating a balance of acid forming, alkaline forming and neutral foods, basically domestic fruits, all veggies, lean meat, but no sugar/processed foods. I also take vitamins with my breakfast and dinner. The point of the detox is to rid the body of yeast , as well as detoxing the body of toxins. And one of the other benefits is that it will balance my stomach - and thats a HUGE one for me!

Aimee - good luck with the detox!!! and let us know how it went.

Good for you Aimee :)

I'd like to hear how it goes as well

Let us know... I've never even thought of doing that. I was thinking that if you did you spent much time in the bathroom... humm interesting.

I have done that detox too! It was several years ago and I remember I did lose about 6 lbs that I didn't immediately regain the second I was done the detox. I had a hard time with the stuff you have to take (argh, those drops!) but you get used to it after a few days. Good luck with it, hope it helps!

Sounds interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how you feel during the next 11 days.

Jen - the trick to the drops is to take them as a shot, and IMMEDIATELY put food in your mouth afterwards heh.

mez - I'm waiting for the bathroom trips to become more frequent, nothing yet! But I'm pretty regular.

Day 2 went great! 10 to go!

Good luck!

02-16-2008, 02:33 PM
oh keep us posted Aimee and good luck!

I am curious, does yeast have an effect on weightloss?

02-16-2008, 02:41 PM
Good Luck Aimee !

I'm very interested in what your experience will be.

How are things going Aimee? this sounds interesting.

Day 3! It went very well - I say this because I had to work alone from 8:30am-1pm.. was a little concerned about bathroom breaks. But it went just fine!

beautifulone - I don't know if yeast has any effect on weight loss? I just know when I have too much yeast I get other symptoms - yeast infections being the worst - but also bladder infections.

Rhonda - I don't know if it'll jump start more weight loss (I did well in January - lost 10 pounds!), but it wouldn't be the worst thing ever!

Just 9 days to go!

I am at the halfway mark on the detox - I am feeling really good! I have some energy when I normally wouldn't! Tomorrow I'll WI to see what I've lost. My pants do feel a little loose - which is good because I was having issues breathing ;)

Great job Aimee! :cheer2:
I hope it helps with those nasty infections...talk about two of the most annoying!

Really looking forward to hearing more!

So I am down 4 pounds after 7 days! Not too bad when I really think about it! I cannot wait to see the 240's!

02-22-2008, 12:41 PM
WTG Aimee!!! Congrats on the 4 lbs. I bet your feel great!

Something interesting has been happening on this detox. It's really kinda crazy! So - when I wake up my body craves exercise! You aren't really supposed to while on a detox - but I just can't NOT do it! And the cravings? Not thats bad - I sat and visited with people eating cake at work. Also - the other thing is I can SMELL, realllly smell everything. It's amazing truly. Just wanted to share!

I am DONE!! I made it thru 12 days! It was definitely hard, but could have been harder if I hadn't been eating like this before I had started.

I am down 9 pounds total!! I am happy with it - esp since I am in the 240's again! I am feeling good, despite the fact I came down with a flu/cold in the last 3 days.. so yucky! But I am excited to integrate some of the stuff I learned into my regular diet! Very good experience :)

02-26-2008, 01:33 PM
That is awesome Aimee!!!!
