Hi Girls,

I saw how long the thread was so I decided to start a new one.

Zoe, have fun in Florida! We'll be thinking of you.

Jen, Let us know how Joe is doing.

Pete's birthday today so you all know what that means, CAKE:rolleyes: Don't have to twist my arm to have some.

I'll be back later.
Going to watch a movie with him. He's waiting patiently.

Love,
Es

Happy Birthday to Pete! ! ! Hope you have a great evening, Es.

Janie, good loss!!! nothing to sneeze at, girl! I'm so happy for you.

Joe's angiogram went very well......thanks so very much to all of you for your concern ... he still has 50% blockage in 3 anterior arteries, but it's all at the same stage it was at a year ago..hasn't worsened, which is good. They won't treat a blockage unles it's 85% or more. He's got to follow up w/his dr. in 6 mos., and have a stress test once a year.

I'm very tired, it's been a long day, so I'm going to bed. Again, thanks to all of you, my friends, for your thoughts and prayers for Joe.

love,
~Jen

Weighed in and actually lost 1.2 lbs. I don't know how considering the week I had. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt me next week. Friday is going to be challenging. A luncheon meeting in NYC. Hopefully it won't be a gateway for a tough weekend/week. I will do my best to be sure it is not. I am so close...I want to get back to goal.

Hi Essie, Myra & Jen & everyone else,

Es, I guess it was time for a new thread. I'm enjoying being part of the group.

Jen, glad everything went ok. Now you can relax a little.

Myra, I'm going to switch over to the journal in a second. I seem to start the day alright, then make a change in my plan. But today's another day, although it is Valentine's Day! We were watching the morning news and they were live at a really good local candy/fudge shop. Looked yummy. My husband said that it would be too many optional points - he knows all the lingo for WW!

I might go grocery shopping later today and I'll try to really think about this. I bought yogurt that was on sale so I've been finishing it off. But I just looked at the points and it was 5! (I usually buy the low or no fat sweetened with sugar. I don't trust the other stuff. But this was regular yogurt. So much for the sale...

Have a good day everyone!

Hi gals,
Happy Valentine's day  I hope all your favorite valentine's treat you like the very special ladies that you are. I will have to wait until tomorrow for our celebration because my big valentine, Steve, teach's an astronomy Lab on Thur nites. Ellen and I will have our weekly girls night out. After all she is my favorite little valentine:love:

Myra,
Great Loss:spin: You and Sandy are lucky that you work at home. In my office everywhere you look there is Valentine's candy. What a temptation:devil:

Jen,
I am so happy that things went well for Joe. Thank the Lord!! ... and thank you, Myra and Essie for the gracious congratulations. The picture that I had posted of my family a while back was when I was at my heaviest. Now I am going to have to get a new picture of me when I reach goal, so you all can see what I am supposed to look like:lol:

Es,
Happy Birthday to Pete :D It is ok to have cake once in a while you just have to remember to count the points and don't do it too often. Hope it was a nice celebration. Yesterday was also one of my Secretary's birthday. I am taking Spanish lessons and she is Mexican so I always ask her to check my homework. Sound's like I could also ask you and Dianne to help me.

Have a LOVE-ly day,
Hugs,

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY SWEETIES!!!

Hope everyone's having a good day, despite the chocolate temptation! Sheesh, willie bought me candy, then came to work and someone left a heart on my desk with "from your secret admirer", then the Human Resources Department sent two huge hearts of candy up here! We're being attacked on all fronts! LOL. Oh, well, I will have 2 pieces for 4 points and hopefully that will be that!:dizzy:

Jen - So glad to hear that Joe's procedure went well and that things are about the same as last year. That's good news. I'm sure you are both relieved. You can relax some now (except f

Janie and Myra - congrats on your losses -- great job! Janie, I'm sure Es and I could help you with spanish except I, for one, speak spanglish, lol.

Ruth - Where are you, girl??? Staying after school? LOL - come say hi.

Es - Happy Birthday to Pete! Enjoy that piece of cake and have one for me too (just kidding)!

Zoe - Have a great vacation - did you see my duck in the water just for you animation? Enjoy! See you next week.

Hi Pogo - what's up girl?

Terri - Miss you, come back to us!

Talk to you's later.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I went into work then had to leave. I caught a nasty little cold. Now I don't have to be back to work till Tuesday.

Zoe, we'll miss you. Have a great time. FINALLY, you're getting the vacation you wanted.

Dianne, temptation is too much for me on Valentine's Day. This morning when I went in to work one of my coworkers tried to get me to eat a BIG Valentine's cookie. I'm glad this cold has me with no appetite.:D

Awww Janie, that is so sweet how you look forward to your time with Ellen. I think I can help you with spanish. I was raised in the Bronx so like Dianne I speak spanglish:lol: Pete's cake was so good. I bought him a small carvel ice cream cake. I have no idea how many points I had.

Pogo, I usually buy low fat yogurt. I don't care for the FF. The one I buy is 4 pts. I'm glad you are part of our group.;)

Jen, glad Joe's procedure is over with. I was thinking of the two of you all morning(yesterday). At least he stayed the same.

Myra, WTG with 1.2!!!!! Numbers are going down, down, down. I started the 5HTP's again. Helps me with sugar cravings.

I'm starting to get a sneezing attack.

Have a good night everybody:wave:

Hi guys  ~ I'm offically on vacation!! The co-worker who caused me to cancel it the last 2 times we planned it didn't get sick again and ya know, if he does now, I won't be there to know it! :) So we leave tomorrow morning and I am so ready to get outta here. And I am offically OFF program. Hopefully only for today. When I hear the word vacation, it's like a licence to eat. We went out for dinner tonight for Valentine's Day and had Mexican. I had fajitas but they were beef when I should have had the chicken. :( we also shared fried ice cream. I'm hanging my head in shame. Chocolate was ALL OVER the office today. <sigh> I am praying that I can have some control over the next 9 days......that I don't bring 13 pounds back from Florida with me.... I'm doing some praying tonight.

Dianne ~ I sure did see your duck and I loved it!! Thanks so much. I tried to 'steal' it but when I tried to use it, it said it was too big to post. Hmmmm, gotta look at that. Anyway, thanks so much for the 'send off'. I am so looking forward to this vacation. Good girl on the resistance of the chocolate. I wasn't that lucky. :)

Es ~ so sorry you're a little under the weather. Must be that Dianna and I are passig it around. :( ~ nice that you are off until Tuesday......feel better....get some rest, that really helps. :)

Janie ~ have a great time with your Valentine tomorrow. (and with Ellen tonight)

Jen ~ So glad to hear that all went well (and is well) with the tests. I know those things can be so stressful, the wait, the not knowing. Glad all is well. If they don't treat anythng under 85%, that must mean that they aren't worried, especially since it's been the same for all this time. Our prayers were answered.

Pogo ~ 5 pt yogurt.....I made that mistake once too. but it's so good....:)

Congrats to all the "losers" here. Keep up the good work so that I have some inspiration to come back to. :)

Hi to everyone else. Terri, come out, come out wherever you are. Hope your computer problems are resolved soon. I will be home in 9 days, Saturday 2/23. Have a great OP week and I want to see all you "LOSERS" when I get back so that y'all are an inspiration to me when I return. I'll talk to you's guys then.

Love,

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Myra, congrats on the loss :D You're doing great. Focus on that to get you thru Friday.

Zoe.......vacation!!!!!!!! Enjoy! It's so great that you finally got it, you've been waiting so long for it. Hope you have an absolutely wonderful trip.

Es, don't sweat the cake. It's part of life. It's not like you have it every day. Hope you're feeling better and will be able to enjoy your long weekend.

Pogo, hang in there w/the journalling. Those who stick with it are successful. Terri, who used to post here, faithfully filled out her online journal on this site, along with Myra. Terri reached goal, and Myra's not far behind. How's that for success? ! Too bad about the yogurt. I stick with the yoplait ff variety...2 pts...it is the taste I prefer.

Janie, hope you had a nice Valentine's Day with Ellen. Jess and Michael bought a new mini-van today, came over to show it to us, so I got my "fix" with the boys today :D

Had my exam in class today; I know I definitely passed, am hoping for an A.

HI to everyone else.....Dianne, Ruth, Terri, Viola....

Forgot to add this......

Yesterday in the hospital, upon being given his discharge instructions, the nurse asked Joe/us how much red meat we eat. I was very smug when I replied, "only once a week for the most part"....when I saw the look of surprise on her face, I thought that she was impressed with how we're watching our consumption of red meat.....that we're doing it right.....

With that, she said "the entire cardiology staff recommends that EVERYONE eat red meat only ONCE a month!"

I was shocked. It's not a problem for us to follow that guideline, as we're not big meat eaters. But I did feel that we've been conscientious about keeping it down to once a week!

They do, of course, recommend chicken, turkey and fish the other 29 days.......

Hello Girls,

Jen, I don't like red meat. We eat mostly chicken, ground turkey, chicken/turkey cutlets. I'm glad I don't like it. I've had to give up so much because of my cholesterol problem. Pete loves fish but I don't. Once in a while we get it for free. His friend goes fishing on a boat & gives us quite a bit. I eat it at the Red Lobster that's it. I bet you got an A on that exam.;)

I'm feeling kind of crappy today. This cold is a pain in the butt. I don't feel like doing anything.

I'm getting a call. Be back later.

HI gals,
Yesterday I went to my first aerobics class since I broke my elbow. It was fun especially when I got there I found that one of my friends was teaching the class. She just got certified in Dec and now she is teaching. I am sure I don't have to tell you guys that I didn't do all of the arm work, and didn't do any of the pushups. It was really great having a legitimate excuse not to do pushups:lol:

Ellen and I went out for Chinese food last night. Although it is hard to make good choices at chinese since everything is fried, I found myself getting filled up a lot sooner and didn't eat as much as would have before. We ended up taking a lot of the food home.

Zoe,
Have a wonderful vacation. You deserve it!!!

Have a great Friday everyone,

Es, you need to pamper yourself......how 'bout a day in bed, I'll bring over the chicken soup? Take care, girl!

We do eat chicken/turkey most of the time, and lean pork. Or go meatless. I hate fish; we have canned tuna occasionally, and that's ok. I also like shrimp. This evening I made fillet of sole; the guys liked it.....first time I tried it, still tasted "fishy" to me. I've been cooking for 30 years and haven't done fish!

Janie, glad you were able to resume your aerobics classes. Must be cool to have your friend leading.:D

We tried a new salad bar restaurant today; had a gift cert. from Christmas. It's so easy to fill your plate w/all the wrong foods. Today was the first time I tried fresh beets, and found I liked them; never cared for the sweet/sour ones I've tried before.

Very quiet here this week......HI to everyone!

Hi guys:

Its very late, so I'll make this short, I'm sooooooo sleepy.

Es - Sorry to hear your'e not feeling well. Take care of yourself. Its great that at least you don't have to go back to work until Tuesday. Take that time to rest and let Jen make you that chicken soup, lol.

Jen - We don't eat lots of red meat either, but I do like pork. Wait.......... isn't that the "other" white meat???? Speaking of chicken, I made a receipe from this site called Chicken Marengo, Es, willie calls it chicken merengue, LOL. It was soooooo good and it only took like 20 mins to make. And, best of all, everything was made in only one pot!!!!!! You guys should try it, I really think you'll like it. I'm cooking it this sunday and bringing it into work for the girls.

Okay, gotta get to bed. Hi to everyone and will talk to you's tomorrow.

Hi Buddies:wave:

Jen, thanks for the chicken soup idea. My mom swore by eating chicken soup you would feel better. I loved the way she made it. She would boil an egg & it tasted good. I miss her:(

Dianne. Willie is so funny. I haven't cooked in 2 days:eek:
I have no energy. I think by tomorrow I'll feel much better.
I hope:(

Myra, Pete could eat fish everyday. I like shrimp but like Jen I can't stand that fishy taste.

Going to relax. Be back this evening.

Hey girls, how is everyone. I just finished reading all the post for this thread, but I need to go back to the last thread and finish catching up.

After all that studying 2 weeks ago, I came down with a cold. Its not a bad one, but I do seem to stay tired. I think its finally on the downhill swing at the moment. I'm hoping that I'll feel like exercising soon!!

POGO, welcome to our little group.

JEN, glad to hear that Joe's test came out all right. I know that must have been a big relief. How is school going. I made a C on one test and a high B on another. I won't find out what my algebra grade was until Tuesday. Hopefully I'll get that C and B up to an A.

ES, sorry to hear you feel bad. I know how you feel. Tell Pete happy belated birthday from me.

ZOE, where are you going on vacation. I know it is well deserved. My husband and I would love to get away just for a weekend.

DIANNE, thanks for missing me girl. I haven't been online much. Not even in the chat room.

MYRA, congrats on the steady downward plunge!!! You are doing such an amazing job.

I know I'm missing somebody, but I better get hubby up so he can go to work tonight.

Check in with you tomorrow.

Hi Buddies:wave:

Ruth, so happy to hear from you. Sorry to hear you caught a cold. It's a real bummer cause it makes us feel so weak right? I'm almost over it.

Myra, that's what is so great about this program. We will face many challenges but we can get right back on track. It's not like most of these diets today that you have a limit. It's so easy. I love it.

I've been resting the last 4 days so starting tomorrow back to exercising. This cold threw everything off.

I emailed Terri the other day but I haven't gotten a response yet. Hope all is well.

Hi all,

Just taking a moment to check in - it's the Monday of a three-day weekend. I just got back from a walk with my husband and I'm trying to fit one in later with my sister-in-law. It's a bit windy, but the sun is out!

I weighed in on Friday - and I was up 1/2 pound. I've been posting on the journal board and went to the meeting feeling pretty in control. But that lousy 1/2 pound was disappointing. Does this every happen to any of you? You have a week when you think you're doing great, but then there's a gain. Another week, you'll feel out of control - but then you loose one or two pounts! I'll start the journal again tomorrow. Today we went out to breakfast and I had french toast - probably at least 10 points.

I'll click back on later tonight. Have a good day everyone.

I wouldn't let it get to you, Pogo. Most likely it is just water retention. Did you have something salty the day or so before WI? You will likely be down this week if you don't let your disappointment set you off.

Hi guys:

Ruth - Good to hear from you. Sorry you have a cold. My daughter is in College and she just finished a week with all kinds of tests and staying up all hours, etc. to study and she wound up having to go to the emergency room day before yesterday. She was so sick and dizzy she fell in the shower!:( Turned out she has the flu and is taking meds and on bedrest. I feel awful, willie and I wanted to go pick her up and bring her home to recover, but she said she wants to stay. Its hard when your child is away and sick - I don't like it at all:p Anyway, take care of yourself and feel better soon.

Es - Same to you - hope you are over your cold and feeling better.

Myra - Don't sweat what you did Friday too much, I'm sure you'll be fine for wi and if not, you'll do it next week. You're doing so well.

I lost 1 lb. this week, which was good. It's going slowly (last week I was up .4 - BIG DEAL!)so it was good to see that little loss this week.

Hi to Jen, Terry (miss ya), zoe (hope you're having a blast), pogo, viola and Janie. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Be back later.

Myra, thanks for letting me know about Terri. I really miss her.

Dianne, I feel so bad for Alana:( I know how you feel. David was sick last week & I felt awful. 31 yrs. old & I stiil want to take care of him. It would be different if he had someone, like a steady girlfriend. He's much better. He had a sinus infection w/ear infection. WTG with your 1 lb. loss;)

Pogo, like Myra said, don't let that 1/2 lb disappoint you. Many times those small disappointments led me to quit. I hated going in to hear that I gained. I'm over that now. You decided to exercise which I think was a great choice.

Back to work tomorrow :(

Have a good evening everyone:wave:

Hi everybody:

Ruth - you're right, is has been kind of quiet in here. Where the heck is everyone???? Thanks for the 1 lb. congrats - this sure is a struggle isn't it?

Jen - where are you girl?

Hi Es - Alana's still sick unfortunately, but she's on meds and she's resting. Willie wants so badly to "go get her", - "daddy's girl".

Hey, guess what guys: Willie and I are planning on a cruise! We just started checking things out last night. He's been after me for a few years to go on a cruise, but before the kids were still at home, I wanted to go Florida to see Steven, etc. Well, now that the kids are in college and we saw Steven & family last month........we are planning on Sept. Because its much cheaper:s: We are trying to decide between the Eastern Carribean, which includes San Juan, St. Thomas, Nassau and St. John (never heard of St. John) and the western carribean, which includes the Cayman Islands, Cozumel in Mexico and Ocho Rios in Jamaica. I'm kind of leaning towards the western part, cause I've always wanted to visit the Cayman Islands. Anyway, its all still in the early stages of planning, but we are getting excited:D
Actually, the other good part about this is we will be leaving from Miami which means on the way back, we could spend a few days with Steven and Monica and the kids (you knew I'd try to throw that in, didn't ya, lol).

Well, I hope everyone is okay - hi to Viola, Janie, Zoe (hope your'e having a great time girl!), Terry, (miss you lots)and Myra.

Wakies everyone!!!!!!!!!!! Come say howdy!

Hi gals,
Sorry I haven't posted lately. I have been really stressed at work. 3 dealines all coming up at once, plus I am going away on a woman's retreat this weekend so I have to get myself ready as well as Steve for a full weekend taking care of Ellen. Naturally due to stress I haven't been watching and journaling as I should and consequently this week I gained 1.5 lb. I am sure I won't be able to be very careful at the retreat either because I won't have much control about the menu. I should be able to get in a lot of walking though (weather permitting), since there are incredible trails on the grounds.

Hugs to all,

Janie, sorry about your gain. If it is any consolation I am expecting about a 2 lb. gain later today according to my home scale, which tends to be right in synch with the one at WW. I guess it is not surprising considering the past two weeks, but I am real bummed. There is always next week, right?

Hi everyone,

I was here last night, had a nice long post going, and got booted :(

Hope Alana's feeling better, Dianne. They're always our babies, aren't they? Congrats on the pound gone! Very cool about the cruise plans! That's a nice time of year to take a vacation.

Janie, don't sweat the gain. You've done very well in the past, and as we all know, there's always next week.

I've had a lousy two weeks, points-wise, also. Just have to hang in there. I will confess, I skipped weigh in last week.

Es, hope David's feeling better, and that your cold is gone. Knock wood, everyone here has avoided all of that this winter.

Ruth, how's school? Did you get your algebra grade? I got an 88 on my exam. I'm glad I passed, of course, but it was a good indication that I need to spend more time studying. Another exam next Thursday.

Joe is doing well. We had a very nice long weekend, as he was off work on Thurs. and Fri. after the angiogram. I could tell he was already antsy to get back to work on Saturday

take care, more later,

Hi Girls,

Ruth, I read your post this morning & I was dying to post but I was running a little late.

Jen, I got booted a few times & got so aggravated I didn't want to do it again. David is feeling much better. He has an appt. the 25th for a follow-up. Today was the first time I could actually say I felt almost normal. This cold lingered! Still feel a little weak but that should be gone soon. I've been sort of off program the past week 1/2:rolleyes: Gotta get my butt in gear, spring is almost here:eek:

Dianne, I never went on a cruise but everyone that I know who has been to one loved it. My two sisters went last year & a few of their friends. I plan to go on one in the near future. I can't blame Willie for wanting to go bring Alana home. Poor baby:( I hope she'll feel better real soon.

Myra, come on girl. You've been doing so well a small gain is nothing. There's always next week ;) Chin up.:)

I have a slight headache so I'm going to go watch TV. Just wanted to stop by & say hello to my buddies.

Es, You're right, it's way too quiet in here! I'm in for the long haul......whether I lose or not, I keep coming here for the friends I've made :D

Myra, Keep your head up. You've had a temporary gain....I'm confident that you won't let it snowball into anything worse. You've done so very well in the last months!

Tonight is my volunteer night for the police dept., helping out with paperwork, tickets, etc. They just completed training a new k9 police dog; we're going to leave a "trail" around town for him to practice tracking.....I have no idea what it'll involve, but it'll be fun.

Jess and her family will be here on Sunday for the day. I'm looking forward to seeing the boys. We had an unexpected visit from them on Monday; they butted heads, Jess thought Brandon's nose was broken, so she dropped Matthew off here while they took B to the ER. Only badly bruised, thank goodness. I told her she's being paid back

Well, girls, don't be strangers! Have a great weekend. :)

So, BACK AWAY FROM THE DOOR - NOBODY'S LEAVING!!!!:smug: I really do hope that Terri returns some day - I know we all miss her.

Es - are you totally well? I hope so. And David, is he okay too? Alana is still sick, poor thing, but the doctors told her it would take at least 7-10 days for her to recover. Willie asks her everyday if she wants him to go get her,

Myra - Don't sweat the gain, girl. You will have it off before you know it. You've been doing so well.

I've been doing pretty good on program - tomorrow's weigh is, so we'll see. I do notice though that its not going as quickly as it did 6 years ago :s: Guess that's cause I'm older, but that's okay - I'll take whatever weight loss I can get.

Well, I've gotta get back to work. Hope you's guys have a great night and hi to everyone else.

P.S. How'd you like Sara Hughes getting the gold medal last night? She's a cutey-pie. I felt bad for Michelle Kwan though, but you gotta make room for the next crop, right?

Hugs,
Dianne

Hi Girls:wave:

I am very happy to hear that nobody is leaving.:D We're buddies, pal, amigas, home girls:lol: Really, we've become cyberspace friends & I think what we have is very special. I did hear from Terri & she wants to know how everyone is doing. I still don't know what the problem is with her computer. She said she misses us.

Dianne, I'm still not over this cold yet! It's been a week! I'm still congested & weak but I am doing what I need to do. Tomorrow is food shopping & cleaning day. I feel fat since I haven't had the strength to exercise. My target date is Sunday to get back to my workouts. David is fine. I hope Alana will be back to normal soon. Sarah our Long Island girl:D

Jen, how long have you been volunteering for the police dept.? That is so cool. Those K9 police dogs are so smart. Boys will be boys. Glad to hear Matthew is okay. My SIL went for her sonogram & she's having a girl. I'm so happy. Now they'll have 3 girls & 3 boys. She better tie her tubes!!!! She loves having babies & staying home.

Hope everybody comes back soon. Have a great weekend.

Well, I guess it's the 3 of us, huh? The Tres Amigas?

Es, take care of yourself! Got to get that cold under control and gone. Seriously, hope you're feeling somewhat better. Your SIL sounds like she loves children. We had 3 boys and 3 girls in our family....always someone to play with, which was cool.

Dianne, I did see Sarah Hughes last night....she was awesome, totally deserving of the gold. I love the Olympics, winter or summer, and watch as much as I can. Too bad about all the whining and bickering that's going on between countries this year. Hope Alana's on the mend; can't blame Willie for wanting her at home to recuperate!

Hi to everyone  Zoe......hope your vacation is fantastic!

Hello my buddies

Lost 1 lb at wi today - YAY! (I'll take it!) Went to a birthday party today and had a tiny piece of cake (that's all they gave me:lol: ). So, its going slow, but its going. And besides, I think of the alternative - if I wasn't doing this I'd probably be gaining most every week. So, let it go slow, as long as it goes:s:

Es - 3 boys, 3 girls - WOW! Is that your brother Tony's wife? They must really love kids. Congrats to them and "titi essie" too.:smug: Now, listen girl, if you are feeling weak, you should not be cleaning and food shopping! If you don't take care of yourself, it will take that much longer to get better. So, please slow down with the cleaning and shopping - it will still have to be done tomorrow or the next day - it ain't going nowhere, lol.

Jen - You sure to have an exciting life! All that training you take sounds cool! I wouldn't want to try and mug you girl :D

So where is everyone else??? Hi myra, janie, ruth, pogo, viola, Terri and Zoe (are you back from vacation yet?).

Have a great Sunday everyone. Talk to you's tomorrow.

Hi girls

It's a beautiful, warm, almost 60, sunny day here. Supposed to drop down to the 20's for the next few days, but we can really enjoy today. We're cooking a turkey on the grill today.

Dianne, another pound! very cool  good job! I'm struggling again, but we are concentrating on low fat and increased veggies here, so that's got to help.

enjoy your Sunday,

Hello:wave:

It's a beautiful day here in LI. I can't believe it's almost Spring. David's birthday is next week(Sat.). We're taking him out to eat & then we're singing happy birthday around 6:00 p.m. at his house. He'll be 31 yrs. old. My baby.:(

Dianne, I stayed home yesterday. I did get to clean at slow motion but it got done. Today after church I went food shopping with Pete now I'm just chillin. My brother Tony was in church today with Karen & the kids. They look so cute walking in. They fill up a whole row. I'm looking forward to my niece who will be arriving in July. The girls look just like my brother & the boys look like Karen. Tony & me look very much alike so when his girls go out with me they think they're my daughters. WTG with your 1 lb.!!! How much do you want to lose?Hey, who cares if it's slow at least it's coming off.

Jen, the three amigas:lol: I like that. How's Brandon? I'm struggling as always!! Once I get back on my exercise routine I'll be alright. My Pastor's daughter has aerobic classes 3 times a week at the church. I might check it out. My brother trained her then she went on her own. My brother looked so buffed today. I'm so proud of him & Pete. They're both in really good shape. Just looking at them motivates to keep pushing myself.

I just got a call from Dave so I'll say good-bye for now.

Hasta manana mis amigas;)

Hello my friends!!! I'm back, I'm back. I must admit that this is good for me because every time I've either been on vacation or away for any reason, that's when I tend to stay away from here for MONTHS.....but here I am, back again. and do I need y'all!!! I did nothing but eat while in Florida. I haven't weighed in but I'll tell you one thing, when I do weigh tomorrow morning, you will all hear me crying from where you are So be ready to lift me up ~ I'm gonna need you's guysl...........vacation was great though. Saw my daugher, my mom and her husband, my brother, dad and step mother, my sisters and their families.....so it was really nice. Oh, did I mention that all I did was eat??? Oh, yeah, I did.....

Sorry not to address everyone personally but laundry, groceries and clean up (the usual after vacation stuff) calls. I do want to congratulate all of you that did so well while I was gone and lost those pounds. WTG!! I'll have some 'catch up' to do now.

Have a great Sunday evening. Talk to you tomorrow when I cry at weigh in and START OVER. :)

Love to you all, it's great to be home!!

HI Ladies,
I have been away on a Woman's Retreat. It was a lot of fun. As you can probably guess I don't have many women to network with at work so I am glad that I have you gals on the net and some special women at my church. We had a lot of fun, but all we did was eat. Also the H2O there tasted terrible, so I wasn't getting my H2O intake. I am sure that I am retaining right now. I am afraid to get on a scale. It is time to get back OP.

COngratulations to all of you who lost this week!! You should be very proud!!

Have a great Monday,

Janie, where was the retreat? Where do you fellowship? Geezz am I being nosey! It's so hard when you go to a place where it totally throws you off program. They think I'm anti-sociable at work cause I never go out to lunch. They don't even ask me anymore. Glad to hear you had fun.

Ruth, I miss you :( Hope you can come back to us soon.

Zoe, you did the right thing by coming back. We're here to support eachother no matter what. I haven't been losing or gaining. I'm stuck at 175. I was sick for a week but for some reason I didn't lose anything & I hardly ate for 3 days. At one time this would have made me very upset but not anymore. I did the treadmill today for 30 minutes. Without exercise it seems so much harder to lose. Soon the warm weather will be here & we can all start walking right girls?

Hi everyone!

We had a great relaxing weekend. Joe's on call this week, so now we stick close to home and make no big plans for the coming weekend. Jess, etc., will be here for dinner on Saturday. :D

My Aunt Ginny (my favorite, who's 79, suffering from emphysema) was hospitalized for the last 3 weeks. She's now staying with one of her sons until she can go back to her own place. I don't know if some of you remember, she had 7 sons and 1 daughter, she's my Mom's sister. Anyhow.....I'm going to see her on Wednesday. Her only request is for broccoli-cheese soup. Yikes! Looks like I'll have to suffer ;)....seriously, I'd do absolutely anything for this woman. There's a little deli/bistro near here that I'm going to on Wed. morning to pick up lunch and take to her. She used to teach home economics, has a son who's a chef. Food has always been such a big part of her life, it's something we just always "do" together. And then I'll think about points all the way home .........

Janie, there's nothing worse than bad tasting water! Way back when, my in-laws used to live on a farm in Indiana. The water was awful, had to brush our teeth with bottled water, and that wasn't in vogue in the 70's  Hope the cake didn't do too much damage. Glad you had a good time.

Es, I think it's so great that you exercise. You know, even if you're not 100% OP, exercising is so much more important! You're absolutely doing the right thing. Be proud of yourself!

till tomorrow....

Well, as Dianne says: "life gets in the way". At least that is how I feel at the moment. I just can't seem to get back on track. But I'm trying. I did get all my water in today and I ate decent for a change.

Now I need to get back to excising. I've gained a few pounds back. That is really depressing. Maybe will have lost a few of them by Thursday.

Well I better go, talk to you tomorrow.

Hi Es,
You are not being nosey. The retreat was at a Franciscan Retreat outside San Juan Bautista, CA. SJB is a cute little mission town about 2 hours south of the Bay Area. There are wooden plank sidewalks and cute little shops in town. The Retreat is up on a hill with beautiful gardens and hiking trails. My church is Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Like myself, most Californians are transplants from other parts of the country. Most of the people from my church are from the midwest. There were 20 of us at the retreat and I have to say I haven't laughed that much in a long time:lol:

Everyone,
I hope you are all having an OP Tuesday. I'm doing good so far ;)

Zoe, I thought I heard someone screaming yesterday morning.

Janie, it's great to be able to laugh. I love to see someone with a smile on their face. I work with all grumpy women so I rarely see that. I always smile cause I have so much to be greatful for. Sounds like a beautiful place. I bet it was very peaceful too.

Today was such a long day. I have a Tuesday thing. I just don't like Tuesdays, at work anyway.

Ruth, I've been going thru what you're going thru for the past 3 yrs. I haven't given up but I'm always struggling. I still can't figure out why. You know that "click" everyone talks about? I never heard it. Exercise is very important. Today I felt a little tired so I only did 20 minutes on the treadmill. Oprah was very informative yesterday. It was about women & heart disease. One of the main things we could do is to be active. I will exercise till I'm an old lady if I'm able. I must have been retaining water today cause all I did was go to the bathroom. Don't stay depressed cause it can keep us in that negative attitude like wanting to give up. You can do this. We all can do this even though there are times when it seem hopeless. Hope tomorrow will be a btter day for you :)

Jen, I hope my niece/goddaughter is the way you are with your Aunt Ginny when I get older. You have a heart of gold my friend.;) Yum, that soup sounds delicious. I never tried it but would like to. Enjoy your time with Aunt Ginny.

Well ladies, have to go watch my soaps.

Ruth, Es is so right, we've just got to hang in there. You're achieving so much by going after your degrees, you'll be successful in the weight loss battle, I just know it!

Janie, the retreat sounded like it was just wonderful. I haven't been on one in many years, but remember how much I did get out of it. Plus the location! How beautiful that must be, I've read about that area.

Hello my friends....I am here tonight to let you all know that, with all my uplifting words and my "nothing can sabbotage me now" speech, I have yet to get back on track. I am eating without thinking, eating without counting, eating without caring. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME????? I am here to confess this in hopes that something gets triggered in my brain. I really DID feel a renewed spirit on Sunday night for Monday's "starting over" day. I promise you, I really mean it (Lord, I DID FEEL IT.....I WANT to feel it.....) I have prayed through tears, I have felt near tears today just thinking of how BIG I am going to be this spring and summer, I can cry at the fact that I had to wear the same pair of pants to work 2 days in a row because nothing fits me. <sigh>

I hope that you are all doing well and I will be back online tomorrow.

HI Ladies,
It was as I expected after my wild weekend in SJB;) I gained 1.5#. That plus the 1.5 I gained the week before is not good:p. Time to flog myself a little and really get back to journaling every single day! It doesn't look like I am going to make goal by Easter either. First I was going to make goal by new year, then by 1/31 then I said Easter so that I could go on vacation with a clear conscience. Now I guess I will try to make goal by swimsuit season. This last 7 lb has been a royal PIA to loose. Actually I think it is psychological:dizzy: I have more trouble with maintenance than loosing so I think my fear of maintaining is making it impossible to attain goal. If I never get there then I don't have to worry about staying there. Right now I could sure use some wise words from Terri. She always knows what to say at these challenging times. Where are you girl:?:

Es,
I am glad that you are exercising. I love it too, although it has been somewhat more difficult with my elbow. I am getting back into aerobics classes, and I still try to walk at least 2 mi everyday.

Jen,
Yes SJB is very beautiful. I would have liked to go hiking but none of the other women wanted to go, and I promised Steve that I wouldn't go hiking by myself. He is very protective, kind of cute don't you think? I ended up going shopping and buying myself 2 new outfits for spring, size 10 :D Not that I could really afford it, but somehow when I am away I seem to forget about the budget:s:

Hi Buds:wave:

What a day!!!! I was so busy at work the hours just flew by. I love it cause tomorrow is Thursday.......yesssss!!!:D

JanieD, I thought it was so sweet what you wrote about Terri that I copied & pasted it to her email. She needs to know how much she's missed so she can get her computer fixed asap!!! Let me ask you a question. Even though you're not where you would like to be how do your clothes fit? Sometimes we have to forget about the scale & go by our clothes. I remember around 2 yrs ago I followed the program faithfully for 1 week & I lost 7 lbs! I'm sure that will never happen again:rolleyes: I ate low carbs, wrote everything down & drank lots of water. I knew I had lost but I had no idea it was that much. I was on cloud nine. Stick to your aerobics classes or walking, drink lots of water & journal. Try & add more protein this week & I bet you'll lose at least 3 lbs. next week.

Zoe, stop beating yourself up! When we fall we get up & try again. We've all been there. Just don't let this get the best of you. There is no rule that we have to start on Monday. You should start right now. If you haven't had a chance to go food shopping try & go as soon as you can. I always have these foods handy, fruits, veggies(some), light popcorn, low fat yogurt & lean cuisines or smart ones. I know some say they are high in sodium but that's what I buy when I'm having a hard time. My sweets are low fat/light ice cream, usually Breyers cause it's high in calcium & reduced fat cookies or sugar free cookies. Murrays has sugar free 8 cookies for 3 pts. You can do this. I read Self & Fitness magazines to keep me motivated & come here almost everyday. We'll help you thru this.

Well buddies, I'll be back in the morning or after work.

Hope you all wake up tomorrow with a big smile ready for a new day.

Love you all,
Es

Hi girls,

Es, thanks for sharing your stand-bys....it's good to exchange info like that; what one person finds helpful can be a big boon to others. I also stock up on smart ones and lean cuisines (I prefer those) when they're on sale. I had seen a dr. on tv recently who said that the frozen meals are a very good weight loss tool. The portions are measured, so there's no chance of overeating, which is my biggest problem.
As far as the other stuff.....yep, light yogurt, ff popcorn, veggies (love canned green beans and they're so easy to nuke with garlic powder) and fruit. I absolutely cannot bring cookies/candy/baked goods into the house. Whenever I do, it's a disaster.

Janie, you've done well so far, don't get down on yourself. I don't know what size you were in previously, but I would KILL to fit into a size 10....congrats!!!!!

Myra, a pound in the right direction. I know you must be feeling better, and will be back next week. :D good going.

Zoe, keep at it! Switching from vacation mode to the everyday is never easy; getting back OP is the same. You can do it!

This is not an easy task, to consistently make the right choice and face doing it for the rest of our lives. I'm learning to not get discouraged if I have a bad day, but to look forward to the next one. As long as we don't give up!!!

Had the first big exam of the semester, got an 88 on it, same as the first mini-exam. At least I'm consistent :)

Jessica's birthday is next week, they're coming over for dinner on Saturday, so we'll celebrate then. It seems like yesterday that she, my first-born, came into our lives. And now she'll be 28!

Hi Girls,

Today was a day from **** at work but I survived it. There was a lot of arguing. I was surrounded by it but I prayed, stayed busy & tried to block out as much as I could. Now I'm off for 3 days & I'm so happy.:D Can you tell by my big smile?

Jen, wtg with your first exam this semester. You make us proud. ;) Dave will be 31 on Saturday. He's going out with his friends so we're taking him out for lunch & cutting a small cake. My family let us down but that's okay, Im not going to let it get to me. You are so right about how hard it is to consistently try & make the right choices the rest of our lives. This the best we can do. All these other diets cut out one thing or another. WW is the healthiest & the easiest.

JanieD, this is what Terri wrote. I sent her what you wrote about her.
************
From Terri:
Tell everyone hi and I miss them too. I do check in and lurk once in awhile. You are so sweet to send this in. Tell JanieD not to stress herself out too much by using time goals. Each day she will be getting better and better. Go 1 day at a time and the lessened stress will do her a lot of good. If she isn't quite there by summer she will still look better than she did before.

Hello my friends ~

Well, another Friday is here tomorrow.....whew!! Thank goodness! I really have had a hard week, both with getting back into work and into eating right so now that this week is just about over, I think I'll be okay.....

Es and Jen ~ thank you so much for your encouraging and uplifting words.

I am taking steps to get back on track. I have taken my treadmill out, bought a VCR for the bedroom and will be getting some workout tapes this weekend. I will go to the grocery store either tomorrow or Saturday and I am going to start back to the gym Saturday morning. Wow, I know this sounds like alot but girls, I've been really bad, bad, bad this week.

I know this might sound contradictory but even though I've been so bad, bad, bad.....I am really SO ready to be doing well. We are planning a vacation again, for our anniversary which is the first week in May. We're going to Williamsburg, VA with friends so I have 2 whole months to be good and I know I can look great by then....well, much better anyway. :)

thanks again for your kindness and uplifting words. I really appreciate you all..........(hi Terri)

Zoe, that's the spirit. Those are the steps you need to take to be ready . Exercise is the key, always remember that. Even when you've blown it & if you've been exercising you burn off some calories but if you've blown it without exercise those calories just sit there. You hang in there. ;)

Today I'll be out most of the day. I have to go to the mall to buy David's birthday gift & WW. I have to rejoin cause I missed a couple of meetings. I'm going to another center cause it's better than the one nearby. The other one is about 10 minutes away. The leader is an aerobics instructor & she's in her late 30's maybe early 40's. I like that she talks about exercising. My kind of gal.:D

I'll be back tonight.

Well, I not only haven't been posting or visiting the chat room much, but I also missed two weeks of ww weigh in. I had a 2.2 lb gain for the two weeks. Now it is time to get back on track!!

I wish the weather would warm up, maybe Spring would put a little bounce in my step!! I just can't seem to get motivated to exercise.

Everyone take care,
Ruth

Good morning my buddies

Sorry I've been MIA lately. Works been soooooo crazy that by the time I get home, I just wanna eat, take a shower, maybe get comfy on the couch and try to watch a show on tv - I say "try" since I wind up falling asleep, lol.

I've missed you guys. I spoke to terri by e-mail the other day, she says hi and she misses everyone. She said Bruce is working on getting her computer fixed.

Well, just came from saturday morning WI and so surprised and happy to have lost 1.8 lbs.!!! It has been going so slow for me, like .8, maybe 1 lb., etc. that this was really a great loss for me. I have 2 food challenges this weekend though. Today a bridal shower and tomorrow my granddaughter, Strawberry Irish Puffy Jade, is being "dedicated". Sort of like a baptism, but not, lol. Her parents are born again christians. Alana and her older brother Darren will be the baby's sponsors.

Speaking of Alana, she came home last night and we hadn't seen each other for 5 weeks. She said "OMG, mom, you lost weight, you look beautiful"!!! I knew there was a reason I always liked her, I felt like crying.

To all those struggling, hang in there. One day at a time. We are gonna have ups and downs. Remember this is for the rest of our lives, its not just an "easy fix". I'm really glad to be back at ww, but I don't fool myself for one minute, its up to me to get what I can out of this. And I know I will struggle and I know I will gain and lose, but that's okay, that's life! This is not a race.

Sorry, I'm not trying to preach here, cause we are all in the same boat and all very supportive of each other. That's what I love about coming here, plus you're all a little "kooky" like me, so I fit,

Happy Birthday to Jessica and David - hope you all enjoy your time together.

Hi, Jen, Es, Ruth, Zoe girl, Janie, Pogo, Viola, Myra (congrats on your 1 lb. loss) and Terri (come back to us). Hope you have a great Saturday. Will try to come back tomorrow night.

Hugs,
Dianne

First of all........

Ruth, it's great that you got on the treadmill! The point is.......you did it. Good for you.

Dianne, first of all, congrat on another loss. :D You must be looking good; way to go to Alana for seeing it and giving you your due!!!! And, have fun tomorrow at Jade's dedication.

We were hit by a big winter storm; got about 4 inches of snow last night; now it's coming down heavily again, supposed to get about 6 more inches.

Jess, etc., were supposed to have come for dinner tonight; they live about 30 miles away however, so it wouldn't have been a very good idea for them to travel in this. We're hosting St. Patrick's Day dinner here, on Saturday, the 16th; looks as tho we'll also be celebrating Jess's birthday.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It has been quiet around my house. I did manage to get out last night in the cold weather. I've been wanting bookshelves for my computer room and I finally went to Walmart and bought them. Hopefully Maurice will put them together next weekend and I'll be able to pick up this pile of junk on the floor!!

I've also got some studying in yesterday and plan on studying most of this afternoon.

My scale was down this morning a little, just hope the ww scale is as kind next week!! I hope I can walk off the 2 lbs I gained!! I've decided to eat a high fiber cereal every morning, hoping that will curve those munchies that I've been dealing with.

Well my daughter Angela is calling so I most go, check in later.

Hello my buddies,

Ruth, I love Walmart. They have everything & at low prices. My son just bought an entertainment center that was $80 marked down to $40. He thought they made a mistake but they said it was on sale. It's a really nice one too. About high fiber cereals, Pete eats Fiber One every morning. I like Total. I usually throw in 1/2 banana.

Jen, I wish we would have at least one snow storm before the spring weather gets here. We haven't had much rain either. Happy Birthday to Jess.

Dave's birthday turned out nice. I bought him an ice cream cake from Carvel. It's his favorite. I didn't have any!!!! I was so busy serving everybody(bro. & family) that I served, cleaned up & left early because his friends were coming by to pick him up at 7:00. We ate at the Olive Garden. We were so full. I ate salad first so by the time my order came I wasn't hungry anymore. I have another birthday in 2 weeks.

Dianne, baby dedications are the same as the baptisms. The only thing we use annointed oil instead of holy water. Hope you had a blessed day. How much do you weigh now if you don't mind me asking? It must have felt so good with the compliment Alana gave you.;) She knows her Mom is looking good.

I guess Terri is still having a hard time with her computer:(

Time to go lurk.

Be back tomorrow:wave:

Happy Sunday Afternoon Ladies ~

Well, the weekend is just about over.....AGAIN. I was very productive this weekend, caught up on some things that I've been letting go. Scrubbed the main bathroom and was on my hands and knees doing the floor and I am hurting today! I really AM out of shape. So the treadmill is now in my bedroom, the new VCR is also in there and I bought a beginners kickboxing tape. I am SO ready!! :)

Es ~ thanks so much for your kind words. I am so glad I have you's guys

Terri ~ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that you (BAMA)?????.....come back, come back!!

Jen ~ older women??? older women??? where??? here??? I don't see any older women here....... Oh, you mean US?????? Holy cow, you DO mean us.....hehehehe

Ruth ~ I'm going to give what I get from y'all.....just pick yourself up and keep on going. We all have days, weeks, even months where we don't do very well.....I really believe that missing the weigh in makes it worse....for me anyway. Hey, ONLY 30 MINUTES????? I am starting my new exercise program tomorrow and if I make 10 minutes, I'll be happy......WTG girl!!

Dianne ~ good going on losing that 1.8 lbs!! So glad that you were able to see Alana after all those weeks. I'm sure that you would have loved the visit even if she didn't say you look like you lost weight. :) (Loved the Zoe girl thing.......ever hear their music??)

hi to everyone else. Have a great evening and enjoy the rest of your weekend, what's let of it. Here's to a new start for those who need it.................

Hi Ya'll,

Zoe, thanks for the pep talk!! The encouragement means a lot to me. I'm with you, this site and these ladies are so wonderful. It really does feel like a "TEAM EFFORT". Oh, one other thing, once you get started with your work outs, you'll feel so much better. After 3 days I feel like Superwoman!!! :strong:

DIANNE, congrats on the weight loss. How sweet that your daughter noticed. Several months back, my youngest finally noticed that I had lost. Her exact words were "You Are LOSING WEIGHT!" It really does feel good when they notice.

JEN, thanks for the encouragement. I'm really pumped with getting back to walking. When you stop, it gets really depressing, but I'm back were I need to be now.

ES, are you off again tomorrow. I know that past few weeks you have had Mondays off. Hope you have a good week, especially your dreaded Tuesdays.

Well, I'm headed to the chat room for a minute then off to bed.

See you tomorrow

Getting ready for work. Ruth, I'm off on Fridays. Yes, you know me by now, how much I hate Tuesdays.:( I love to hear that someone is exercising. I know the benefits you get from it. Even if you don't see a quick loss it's healthy for your heart & you're burning fat. :D

Zoe, you sound like you are ready Girlfriend. WTG;)

Gotta go. Be back later.

Have a great day.

Zoe......no no no.......I purposely put the words "older women" in quotes.....those are words other people use!

It's COLD here! Was only 5 below this morning with wind chills of 20 below. I'm glad it's March and we won't be having this type of weather too much longer. I've already got a basket of seed packets ready for planting. :) Can't wait. lol

Hi to everyone else. I've been hitting the books for a few days and have lots more work to do. Just wanted to stop in and see what was new.

take care,

Hi:wave:

Jen, you sound like you are ready for Spring weather. I like the Spring & the Fall. It was pretty cold in NY also. I like the cold weather but not when it's freezing.

Dianne, let us know how much you've lost all together in the past few weeks.

Pete gave me my early birthday present. I've been dying to get my windows tinted since I first bought my car so he surprised me & got it done & had rain guards put on. It looks so sporty. I love it. What a guy.

Ruth, your little guy lifting weights is soooo cute.

Zoe, I have my treadmill in the living room. I watch my soaps while I'm on it & the time goes by so fast. One day at a time my friend. Before you know it you'll be all pumped up to work out. You'll look forward to it.

Hi Terri, Myra, Sandy, Pogo(?), Viola(?) where are you guys?

Hi everyone

Well, I made it through today. I've been so bad that just getting through one day staying OP is an accomplishment for me. :ink: I didn't get on the treadmill yet tonight but will. I know it's probably not good to do AFTER dinner but today was a little crazy when we got home and I had wanted to get on it BEFORE dinner. I have to get myself organized with it and it will be ok. I'll get on it tonight while I watch some TV show that Greg doesn't like. :)

Es ~ what a great birthday gift!! Those are the gifts that we really appreciate, the ones we REALLY want. Enjoy those windows!

Jen ~ stay warm girl....5 below....YIKES!!

Ruth ~ tonight will be day 1 for the treadmill and I'm afraid that I'll hardly make 10 mintues! :( I know that I am SO out of shape so I am just going to go slow. Before you know it, I'll be doing it without thinking. Hey, do you go into chat often? The only time I've been in there is when the posting part here is down. I should....it's been fun when I've been in there.

Hi to everyone else. Talk to you's guys later.

ZOE, when I first got back on my treadmill several months ago I only last about 10 minutes. It is amazing how fast your body loses strenght. The important thing is that you will take one day at a time and eventually you will stay on it a lot longer than 10 minutes. I don't know if there is any time that is better than others to exercise. I'm not a morning person, so it is always late in the afternoon before I manage to get on the treadmill. In fact, it is just now almost 9:30 pm and I just finished walking around 9:10. Some people say they can't sleep, but I think it actually helps me relax before bed time. GOOD LUCK!!!

BTW, I do go chat most nights. I'm usually in there between 9 and 10 at night. I enjoy it. Come in sometime and say hello.

ES, Friday's off would be nice. Last semester I didn't have any classes on Fridays. I loved it. Unfortunately I couldn't manage it this time.

JEN, I understand where you are coming from. It looks like I'm going to have four test next week!! I imagine that my time in here will be limited as the week progresses.

See you girls later.

Ruth

PS. Another night on the treadmill, four in a row.

Hi Buddies:wave:

Sorry that I have been staying away lately. I really miss you guys. I tend to avoid posting when things get rough as I hate to be a complainer.
I feel like I have been so overwhelmed with work and my parent's needs. I haven't even been trying to count or watch my points for the past two weeks.
My mom has more surgery coming up on March 15th. She has been in a rehab that is about an hour's drive from me since the last surgery on Jan 11th. My dad is in a nursing home too, but he has to live there permanently, and that is 45 minutes away in another direction. I tried to give blood last week for my mom's surgery, and I was turned down due to low iron levels.

:( I guess I may be in a blue funk for a little while longer, but I plan to get back with the program this Thursday. I will go to a meeting, and shop for some special WW treats. Suggestions for what works for you all would be really welcome.

Happy Birthday to the March babies!

Hugs to all,
Sandy

Sandy....... It's very important for you to keeps things on an even level for yourself right now. You've got so much going on with your parents that putting even more on your shoulders will be a very heavy load. If going to WW helps you, gives you a much needed break, that's great. If you're not OP all the time, don't get down on yourself! Is your dr. aware of your low iron level? Just know that we care about you, and are good listeners.

My personal favorite treat is Tootsie Roll Pops  for only 1 point each, they're long lasting and very satisfying. And portion controlled! I hate measuring out ice cream, etc., and tend to go over, so I try to avoid those type of trigger treats.

Es..... when is your birthday? I should know this, we've been friends for a while now! Very cool of Pete to know exactly what to give you. :D

Ruth......way to go on 4 days in a row on the treadmill!

Zoe..... one day at a time. That's all anyone can do, good going!

 hi to everyone

have a great day!

SANDY, sounds as if you have a lot to deal with at the moment. Don't be too hard on yourself if you aren't op. And please don't stay away. We are here to help you get through whatever happens to be burdening you. Of course, I'm a fine one to talk, I tend to stay away too when things are hectic and I'm not op. Hope everything goes okay with your moms next surgery, I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

JEN, I love tootsie pops also. I use to buy one a day when I was working. That was my sweet treat to myself.

Well, better get my shower out of the way, I've got an 11:15 class in a little bit.

ES, hope your Tuesday is a good one!!!

Hi again,
Since the test seemed to work I will try again.

Dianne,
Congratulations on you 1 lb loss. WTG girlfriend!!

Ruth and Zoe,
Don't get down on yourselves about not exercising everyday. The more you work at it, the more you will enjoy it. Or at least you will enjoy the feeling when your done. "It feels so good when you stop " is really true. If I don't get my walk (or some other exercise) in each day, my lower back aches.

Sandy,
It was good to hear from you, although as Jen said, please take care of yourself. You can't help the others who need you if you are not taking care of yourself.

Myra,
How is my Wed WI buddy? I am optomistic this week...we'll see.

Hugs to all,

Cautiously optimistic. If I lose, it won't be that much. but I am happy with that or even a maintain. I'm going through my busy, stressful period at work for the next few months (that is why I haven't been posting much). Last year for March/April I gained 15 lbs! If I am just able to maintain through May I'll be happy.

Hello My Buds,

Ruth, you make my Tuesdays seem bearable. Just the fact that you know how much I hate Tuesdays & yet you always have something to say that makes me think they're not so bad after all. Thanks Buddy. ;)

Myra, hope you can maintain with all that's going on. I have a tendency to throw in the towel when I'm too stressed. You've come a long way. lm sure you'll be just fine.

Jen, my birthday is April 26th. I'll be 48. I don't feel it. I feel much younger. Hopefully I'll still feel that way when I hit 50!! We have been friends for awhile. So cool:cool: I have been getting a little carried away with my light ice cream. I'm going to have to give it up for a while. I never measure.

Sandy, don't ever hesitate to post because you're having problems. We are all here for eachother. Through good times & bad. I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. :( Take care of yourself.

Janie, good luck on your weigh in.

I guess our pal Bama Terri couldn't get thru! I'll have to send her an e-mail. If you're lurking, hi Terri:wave:

Happy Tuesday everyone!! :D

Well, I think I'm on my way....I did the treadmill last night for the first time in AGES.....(I think a year or more.......) ~ only 20 minutes and slow (.88 mile) but hey, it's a start, right? Tonight I went slightly faster, only 21 minutes but made a mile....woo hoo! So I think I will just increase some each time.

Day 2 "on my diet" and I was ok. Yesterday was perfect but today, just ok....I went out to lunch today which I said I wasn't going to do but circumstances forced the issue and I was out. I had pasta, asked for a "to go" box right away and put half away for tomorrows lunch. I feel so proud of myself cuz I could have eaten it all EZ!! I did have bread though so that wasn't great. But I feel good and I think I'm going to make it this time. :)

Sandy ~ glad to see you back with us.

sorry I'm not addressing everyone individually...gotta run. Have a wonderful evening.

Hi everyone,

I've clicked on to the site a couple of times and started to write. But I get side-tracked. A couple of weeks ago I thought I was doing just great. I was using the journal site and figured I'd have a good weigh in. I was very disappointed to go up a half pound. I know I should have been positive and aimed for the next week. But it was enough to make me mad and I sort of fell of the bandwagon. So, I'm here. Just had one of those choc. graham cracker/cool whip "ice cream sandwiches". Not bad.

I did weigh in last week and I'm at 155. I'll try to get there Friday and report back.

It's nice to see all your names and all the encouragement you give to each other- and me too.

Good nite, I'll check in tomorrow. I promise I'll try.

Hi everyone, I didn't get my walk in tonight so I decided I'd make the time to post instead!! I should have walked earlier, I have a 3 hour algebra class on Tuesday. I don't get home until 9:15 or so, it is just too late to get on the treadmill at that point. In fact, the only thing I want to get on at the moment is the bed!!

POGO, as everyone has told me, I will pass it on to you, don't be too hard on yourself. Tomorrow is another day, so hang in there!!We all seem to go through slumps at time, I'm just coming out of mine!!

ZOE, hoorah!!! Doesn't it feel great to be back in stride!!:smug: Take it easy on the treadmill, they can get the best of you if you go too fast. By the way, you lasted longer than you thought. Are you drinking your water? I've been doing better at it, but today I didn't get it all in. I just finished a liter. I hope some is better than none.

ES, your welcome. If their comes a time when you need more than a simple acknowledgement that I'm thinking of you, let me tell you some of my life stories!! Then no matter what day it is, you'll feel like you could get through anything.

Myra, good luck in the coming weeks. We are all pulling for you.

Janie, thanks for the words of encouragement. It really helps knowing that there are friends to cheer us on. Right Zoe?

Well gotta go, need to get back to the books.

Hi everyone,
I WI this morning and lost 2 lb, not the 3 that I had gained but I'll take it. It took 2 wks to gain the 3 lb I guess I should expect it will take 2 wks to loose it as well. TOnight is going to be difficult because I am meeting some girlfriends at a local English pub/cafe. It is hard to go to an English Pub and not have at least 1 beer. I have been OP all week though, WW is supposed to let us splurge once in a while, right?

You gals will never guess who called me out of the Blue yesterday...Wally! We only chatted for a couple of minutes, but it was great to hear from him again.

Myra,
I know that you will do fine during this period of stress. You've come this far, your not going to let it get the best of you now!!

Jen,
I heard that the temps in Chicago were 13 below yesterday. I don't think you'd see me out from under the bed covers on a day like that. I knew there was a reason why I left the Northeast and moved to CA.

 Sandy, Pogo, Terri, Ruth, Zoe, Dianne etc.

Hugs,
