Well, folks - Valentine's Day is here. What a SWEET day. :) We have had a VERY fun weight loss challenge going for some weeks now for this very day. Now that we have arrived at this milestone, we are going to set another! :-)

:easter: Easter is 5 weeks and three days away, so this will be a little shorter than the Valentine Day stretch. But, the short ones make it seem a little more attainable sometimes. Besides, with all that candy and those many treats we couldn't stand it to be much longer than 5 weeks! :D

So - here's to the new challenge: 5 lbs gone by Easter, March 23, 2008.

But I don't know what I'm supposed to do as part of a challenge. :blush:

Edited to add: That's now 14 lbs. Scale went up at today's weigh-in. Darn bloat! :(

I'd like to join in too! Thanks Ritzy! These are my goals:

- plan my food everyday
- meditate daily
- journal my food
- 3 - 4 pounds down would be great - if it happens! (I am losing pretty slow because I can't exercise right now.) Four pounds down would put me in the 200's. Wow - that seems like a big dream.

Hmmmm.....A challenge......That may be what I need right now. I have been too complacent with maintaining and itty bitty losses.

Okay, my goal is 5 pounds down. I know that is not a lot, but it will bring me to the spot where I have been twice before----and that is where twice before I have thrown in the towel and promptly gained it all back.

A pound a week seems reasonable for me.....

I'm in, too! This is JUST what I need to get out of my funk and get back on track!! I've gained a pound the last couple of days, and I refuse to go back to my bad habits! Bring on the challenge!

My goal is to lose 5 pounds by Easter, bringing me to 225.

I met the Valentine's challenge...and I'm excited for the next one! Easter here we come! I'm at 226 now, aiming for 218. That will put me out of the 220's and I can't even imagine being that close to leaving the 200s!

I'll second that!

I only lost 0.5 lbs last week but this week I lost 4.5 lbs. This is definitely a fluke. I've looked back (yes, I've been charting my progress - what a dork :D) and in 35 weeks I've only lost 4.5 or more pounds in a week 3 times. Usually I'm between 0.5 - 2.0 lbs a week but I'll take it and do a happy dance for the week. :bunny2:

So 4.5 lbs down, 5 pounds to go for my Easter goal.

I'm down 3 pounds this week but I've been in bed most of the week with no appeptite (not that it stopped me from eating junk yesterday) so I dont see this happening again-

anyways it puts me halfway to my goal. I have 5 pounds to go to for Easter too :)

So, I've haven't been posting this week. It was just one of those weeks. I definitely have not been following plan very well. I am getting my exercise done though. I'm down to 214 which is a loss of about 2lbs last week. Not bad since I've been straying quite often.

I lost two pounds this week...not too bad but I didn't weigh last week so I was a little dissapointed. Nine pounds to go! I hope I wasn't too hopeful in my Easter goal...we will see!

I know that I have said in a previous post that I will lose 5 pounds by Easter...well I am already 2.5 down. So I will be upping the poundage.

I will work for a 10 pound loss minus the 2.5. I feel that is a fair number.

Well, I should have expected this... after a 4.5 lb loss last week, I'm only down .5 lb this week. But hey, it still going in the right direction! So for the challenge, I'm down 5 lbs with 4.5 to go. :)

I was in the same boat as you Tonia... I've been sick/sedentary for a couple weeks and my appetite basically left so the last week I KNOW I could have done much better... so I weighed myself yesterday out of curiosity and it was up!! :o I was going to avoid even checking today....

but I'm down 2 pounds! :broc: I wonder how Kara, the last Saturday WI'er did? Anybody see Ritzy?

I'm up a little over a pound this morning. I sabotage myself when I get close to a goal -- been doing it for a couple weeks now but it finally caught up with me. S'ok though... I know what to do to get back on track this week :)

How'd your saturday WI go tonia, gina and kara? I'm to the point now.. that I just feel superior to my scale. I'll buy a great piece of clothing that makes me feel hot and just laugh at the numbers. It's a really great feeling.

I've only lost 5 pounds for the challenge. I'm up 1.5 this week - I'm still trying to figure out why. Maybe not enough weighing and measuring food! Too many social engagements where I just tried to estimate. :^:

Thanks for asking, valpal! I am FINALLY - just tonight - starting to feel normal. I had to go to a conference this weekend - a 10-hour round trip drive. I had pretty much gave up as of Friday - feeling so bad for so long was really taking a tole on me. I only had a few hours of weakness, though, until I got my grove back.

As for my Easter goal...I don't know. I didn't lose any weight this week and still have five to go....I think. My scale is weird so that is my best guess. I will know more tomorrow - I am going to the gym and will use their scale.

I am impressed at everyones weight loss so far, though....17 pounds?! Wow!!!

HI EVERYONE!!!!!!

I am SOOOOOO impressed with all the losses!! You all are doing SO awesome!!

I'm so sorry I haven't been able to post here in such a long time. I have had one wave of company after another for the last month and a half, and now have another family living with us. It has been a little difficult to stay on plan cooking for others, but I have managed to lose a few pounds, though not what I had wanted to by this point. However, that doesn't get me down by any means...I just have to stay focused and keep on trying. I literally stayed the same for quite a few weeks after Christmas, which is fine for awhile, but I'm ready to get on a stricter regimen so I can see the scales go down!! :( On the positive side, I have been able to change my avatar to the 80-lbs-lost chickie!!! :carrot: I thought I would never see that milestone with the way the last few weeks have gone, but there it is!!! LOL!

:egg: I hope y'all keep up the GREAT success you have had so far!! Wow...you just know how to do it! I'm so inspired by this group. Keep on keeping on!!!! You are truly being an inspiration more than you know!

Ritzy, I must tell you, I never, ever open this thread. But I saw, as I was scrolling down that you posted here. Thanks for the update. I was actually wondering about you. I am so pleased that you have maintained through all the stress and company that you have had. I KNOW how difficult that can be and you my dear should be commended. WAY TO GO!!! I also noticed that little 80lb avatar. I can't believe how far you have come, I mean I CAN, but you know what I mean. 80 lbs? EIGHTY POUNDS!!!! How awesome is that? Wait, I see it's actually 81.6. Do you realize there is 81.6 lbs less of you??!?!?!?! What an inspiration YOU are. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hi everybody :) Just got finished reading through the thread and so happy to hear about all your losses! I kinda fell of the wagon these past weeks, stopped exercising and haven't watched what I ate as good as I should. I did lose 1 pound since the last time I posted though. So I'm happy I didn't gain any of that weight back. I'm ready to start anew and hopefully lose a couple more pounds by Easter. It's not quite my goal but I'll be satisfied. :)

I just weighed in... I worked off the weight I gained last week.. so I'm sitting exactly at my ticker weight. I get lazy because 'I know how to do it' and I know how my body responds. I'm pretty sure if I stay 100% on plan till Easter that I can make my goal.

I am not weighing in this week. It has been a struggle all week to stay focused on my intake - I have eaten out almost EVERY DAY this week and that totally screwed up my week. So, I don't know if I will make it to goal but I am certainly ready to refocus! Keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I certainly don't expect this to be easy!

I totally forgot about this thread!! :o I've been MIA for a while now - the reasons are quite boring, actually. (Away on a work conference, busy with life, gained some pounds, lost some pounds. You know the drill!)

Congrats to everyone who is working hard toward their goal. One week to go!! :)

Horray!!! I've met my bunny hop challenge goal. It was also my first 10% goal which means I've also lost a whole 10% of my original body weight. I can't believe I did it and I'm sooo excited!!! This of course doesn't mean I am going to stop. I can't wait to see the scale go down even more :)

I have 9.7 pounds to go. I'm going to try super hard today. I realize that it probably won't happen but it never hurt to try! I didn't know Easter was so close. O.O I was like psh, April, yeah I can do it. I think if I don't make it, I will post pone it to my momma's birthday because when I made the goal I had april in mind, not March! Either way, I am soooo close to Onederland

I'm holding steady, no loss or gain this week... I didn't really stick to my points like I should have, but I made a better effort to exercise. Now I just have to do both at the same time. :) I know if I just stick to my plan this week I can make my Easter Goal. I can't wait!

Well, today is Thursday. It has been a pretty decent week this week - much better than the last THREE weeks! I feel like I am getting my grove back....! :carrot:

I am not sure if I will weigh in this week or not - I guess I should to see how close I came to my Easter goal. While I don't think I gained any weight, I do not expect to meet my goal this time, though...but, I am looking forward to the next go-around! What would that be? Mother's day?

I do very much appreciate this thread - it is motivating to see how well so many of you are doing! :cp: Yea!!! :cp:

I made it! Goal was 3 lb since Feb 28th and I lost 4.5 pounds (starting weight 220.5, now 217). :carrot:

These are my goals for the Easter Challenge:

- plan my food everyday
- meditate daily
- journal my food
- 3 - 4 pounds down would be great - if it happens! (I am losing pretty slow because I can't exercise right now.) Four pounds down would put me in the 200's. Wow - that seems like a big dream.

- I did plan my food every day - some days my plan changed before the day was thru - but, I was pretty mindful of what I've been eating :)

- I did meditate at least 5 times a week - sometimes every day - so I am happy with that :)

- I journaled my food every day - even days when I overate :)

- I lost 6 pounds - so, I am in the 200's. (under 210) YAY :carrot::carrot::carrot:

I am pleased. :D

Well, I didn't make my Easter goal - but after the awful three weeks I didn't really expect to.

It makes me sad but I am ready to go for the next challenge!

I didn't make my goal either. :( I haven't done well the past 2 weeks and it's hindered my weight loss, but I'm proud of the 8 1/2 lbs I did lose and look forward to starting the next challenge. :cheer2:

I got back into town this evening... I was down 2 lbs in the middle of the day so I'll wi tomorrow morning to see if I made my easter goal :cheer: way to go everyone on all of your losses!

Well, I'm VERY apologetic for letting Easter fly right by without any update from me! As I mentioned in my last post, I have a family living with me now, I work full time, and also home school my 2 boys, so life is rather HECTIC at this time.

That being said, I wanted to CONGRATULATE ALL who met their goal!!!! How absolutely wonderful! I know you feel great about it and that it will propel you to even greater milestones yet to come! Keep it up, and thanks for participating in this little fun contest!! :hug:

As for those who didn't reach their goal, It's OKAY! I didn't either; I'm trying not to beat myself up over it, but it is hard not to get a little mad at myself. With the family living with us, I have found that it is very hard for me to stay focused. In fact, I feel I'm to the point where I need to tweak my plan (obviously) if I'm going to go down any further. With them here, I just find it so hard to do. What is wrong with me!? LOL! Anyway...they are hopefully getting a place this week and I'm looking forward to getting completely back on track and LOSING MORE WEIGHT!!!

Again, I apologize for letting the holiday slip right by without a peep from me....but hopefully things will get better soon and very soon!

Cheers to us all for at least trying. ;) If at first you don't succeed, try - try - try again. This is what we must keep in mind if we ever make it to our ultimate goal. We can and WE WILL do it!!!

Take care everyone. I'm anxious to see how you all do in the coming months. I know there will be great success stories shared by many of you, and I look forward to reading them. :)

Hi All!

I just wanted to check in and congratulate all of those that met (and exceeded) their Easter goal. :congrat:

I fell one pound shy of meeting my goal but on the bright side, I still lost 8.5 lbs and couldn't be happier about it! So here's a :bravo: to those of us that didn't quite meet our goal but lost anyway and to those that maintained.

Stay strong and see you at the next challenge.
