:coffee: Good morning,
We're on storm watch this morning, but the weathermen don't seem to know just what we're getting or how much. :dizzy: At least I don't have to go in until noon today, so maybe by then something will be happening.
The girls got home at 2 yesterday, and they were excited to tell me all about their ski weekend. They had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing their cousins again, too.

Schmoodle, I had to refrigerate the soup stock overnight so I can skim off the fat, so it's on the menu for today. I'll be sure to let you know how I like it.

02-12-2008, 07:44 AM
Morning Cottage! You be careful in that crazy weather. Glad to hear the kiddos are back and that they had a blast.

As for me it's bowling night but I'm staying home to watch biggest loser & walk/jog on the treadmil.

Good morning to everyone else not yet up and at it.

02-12-2008, 07:59 AM
Good morning ladies! Cottage, glad the girls got home alright and without injuries.

Gonna, I have been thinking of joining a bowling league! I think I'm going to set one up!!!!!

As for me: Frustrated as the scale went up... but then, I shouldn't be weighing every day! LOL.... I worked out hard yesterday at curves, usually I do a moderate workout, but I worked at 95%!! There's a lady there that has lost 51lbs since September. She arrives around the same time I do so I plan to buddy up with her. We seem to hit it off pretty well. She's about my age, and has four kids from 17 to 25, I have an 18 so we have a few things in common. I'm excited about this! Seeing her change in a month with 30lbs has inspired me to workout as often as I can at curves. The weekend I will get out more with the dog and do a video I have on the colder days.

Joe's home today, so no doubt I will be eaten out of house and home! When do they move out???????????????????

02-12-2008, 08:35 AM
mmmm coffee :coffee: Thanks Cottage!

We're getting that storm too, but they seem a little more confident that we're getting quite a bit. Blah! Have fun with the girls :)

Loriann - I feel your scale frustration. I seem to have the same inability to stay off it each morning even though I know it's going to bounce around. I'm curious about Curves now because I could fit in an extra workout during lunch that way. I'll have to ask my PT because I've heard really mixed reviews about it.

GonnaBe

I'm heading into a diet adventure, hopefully not a bad one. At our Co-op members get a better discount if they work 3 hours a quarter. I like to do food demos - lots of hours and playing with recipes. Somehow I ended up helping with one today with "heart healthy treats". Of course there are not diet friendly treats. I'm making three recipes this morning though I passed off the two I knew would be hard for me to resist. Then I'm standing at the counter for 2 hours handing them out to folks. Wish me luck and will power!

I wonder if I'll be snowed in tomorrow?

Stay safe and warm everyone.

02-12-2008, 08:48 AM
Morning all!
Cottage..hope that storm doesn't cause any problems for you! The weather here is foggy right now and 57...supposed to warm up to the 70's. Then it's supposed to "hit" the colder temps up north and cause some severe weather for us later in the week. joy.

Gonna, I'll be there with you tonight watching biggest loser. Then tomorrow is the second 1/2 of a PBS special, then Thursday is Survivor and an "oyster party" for my older son's 24th birthday...a few days of something to look forward to at night after work!

Loriann, ignore the stupid scale. I worked out this morning (I decided it was time to go to "intermediate" with fluidity workout) weighed afterwards before my bath and I gained 3 lbs since yesterday according to the dumb scale. No way. I just stuck my tongue out at it. It's stupid and it lies.

Cyndi, you can resist that food...just think of it at completely gross and poison and foist it all on others and feel superior that you didn't have any. Bring a lot of water with you and sip when you feel tempted!

Me: nothing exiting...just work and more work. Got my roses pruned yesterday and that felt good. Just took some turkey out of the freezer for taco bake and that's the extent of exitement. Feeling really good after that workout and a nice hot long bath and ready to face the day wearing a new shirt, which helps! Off to eat some leftover grilled turkey and vegs and I'm out of here.

02-12-2008, 09:03 AM
good morning to all. sorry no time to chat but just wanted to say good morning. got a full day ahead of me today. Have a wonderful day everyone.

02-12-2008, 09:05 AM
Good Morning Everyone

:coffee: Cottage Have a great day and stay warm.

Gonna Enjoy your evening of the t.v. and treadmill.

Loriann Hang in there. The scale will come around.

Cyndi You can resist the treats. Good luck and hang in there.

Femme Enjoy the new shirt. I love getting to wear new clothes for no particular reason.

Me I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Hopefully I get rid of my crabiness before I actually have to interact with others. We shall see.
Hope everyone has a great day.

02-12-2008, 09:11 AM
"Roses pruned" she says! My roses in the front bed are beneath six feet of snow from the lane ploughing.

We're sunny and no snow is falling for a change but darned cold. I am going to see if I can get the woodstove in the back room cranked up again as it's a lovely place to sit and read when the sun streams in.

Today I plan to get cracking on my insurance claim - $21K for Harry's nursing home last year and some of it is refundable! 60%? After that, it'll be starting to organize tax stuff. We don't need to file until April 30 but I like to get at it early and figure it our several different ways. I used to work for Revenue Canada!

I'm still clumping around on the walker but feeling a bit more normal. I ate more yesterday and my ticker is still truthful! I'm striving for a balance - enough good food to heal but not enough to gain - a very modified South Beach Phase II.

Have a great Tuesday, chickies.

02-12-2008, 09:21 AM
Good morning friends!

Avery insists on waking up around 7:30 and then spending the next hour to hour and a half looking sleepy and snuggling on my lap. I'm trying to convince her to just sleep an extra hour, but she prefers the snuggling. I can't say I mind it, but she keeps pulling my hands off the keyboard and wrapping them around her! What a sweetheart!

Dawn, hope you can shake off the grumpies. Count your blessings!

Tawnya, good luck getting everything in order today! Hope your dad is feeling better!

Cat, I'm sure you look divine in your new blouse! Enjoy your taco bake tonight!

Cyndi, bring gum. Lots of gum! That's what I do when I go to the grocery store and don't want to be tempted by the samples. Good luck!

Lori, hide that scale! Dawn's is under her car in the garage!!! Join the strike. We'll be meeting later to draw up picket signs...

Gonna, enjoy your quiet evening!

Linda, I always get my local weather report from you! It surely does look gloomy out there, doesn't it?!

Hello Ruth! Glad to hear you're back moving about! Enjoy your read by the woodstove!

We're going to visit my mother-in-law this morning. She works for the county and has off today for some unexplained reason. I think I'm going to take advantage of my parents' treadmill for my run today, as it is looking nasty outside and was cold as anything yesterday. Then my niece is coming over for a couple hours after her preschool class gets out because my sister has to be into work before her husband gets home from his job (he works for a bank and she's a nurse). It'll be the first that we've seen my sister and her family since we've been back so I'm looking forward to giving her a hug!

Off to get breakfast going. Yogurt and a clementine for this morning.

02-12-2008, 09:26 AM
I went to Curves and stopped to fill up on gas afterwards, so I'm ready for the storm. :)

GONNA, I'll be joining you and Cat tonight in front of the TV watching The Biggest Loser, too, even though I just watch it for the entertainment anymore.

Loriann, you'll learn fast, that scale is evil and lies!!! It's great that you found someone to buddy up with at Curves. We have a great group that meets there every morning. It kind of keeps us accountable to each other, too.

Cyndi, not all Curves are the same. I visited one while on vacation and didn't like it at all. The one near me is a larger one and has all the latest up-to-date equipment that is maintained monthly, and the manager stays right on top of things. We do all kinds of games, challenges, and fun things to keep us motivated. Stay strong at your co-op event today!

tk, I hope you have a better day today with the DH!

THIN, I hope your crabbiness passes soon!

02-12-2008, 09:29 AM
KT, I just went back and read the end of yesterday's thread... Thank you for your nice words! Tom is in the Air Force and is just finishing up his year-long tour in South Korea. He was supposed to go unaccompanied, but the kids and I ended up moving over there for the greater part of the year. We just returned back home to the States to spend about a month with the grandparents and aunts and uncles, as we're off to Germany next. Tom gets home a month from tomorrow! He's been in the Air Force for fifteen years now - hard to believe he's coming up on retirement!

You're sweet!

02-12-2008, 09:31 AM
Kara, there's nothing like cuddling with a little one to get your day off on the right foot! It is pretty gloomy-looking out there, stay safe and warm inside!

Ruth, I'm happy that you are feeling better, I bet having Hershey back home had a lot to do with that!

02-12-2008, 09:35 AM
Kara, today is Lincoln's B'day, so maybe that is why your MIL is off? We don't get president's day etc off because we are off for 2 days at Mardi Gras. poop.

Curves: the one near me is awful. I hated it. Kept hurting my back (had surgury on it 20 years ago) and some lady kept yelling at me saying "you are doing it wrong". I kept telling her I could NOT do some of the stations "the right way" because of my back. I don't want to go through that surgery again. I know what I can and cannot do after 20 years of avoiding it. I finally got tired of arguing with her every time I went in and quit. She was a cow.

02-12-2008, 10:00 AM
Morning chicks!
We got some snow last night, but just enough to cover the grass, not enough to keep the kids entertained probably.:( They are home today, and DD had a friend sleep over last night. The friend decided she wanted to go home at midnight but her mom wouldn't come get her, so it took a while to get them settled and asleep. So I am on 3 nights of crappy sleep and I am not a happy camper without my 8 hours. I think we're taking a hiatus from sleepovers at our house for a while. I don't know why it's such a big thing nowadays anyway. Why can't they just get together and play like we used to without moving in with each other? (End of cranky mom rant)

cyndi, the coop thing sounds kind of fun. Maybe you'll end up with your own cooking show like Rachel Ray. I think that's how she got started!
Dawn, just indulge your crabbiness. That's what I plan to do. Anyone that doesn't want to be around me can go away. Except you chicks, of course! My captive audience.
Keep on clumpin' Ruth!
Have a great day with the family Kara. By the way, I way your post in the other thread about the scale. I refrained from comment. But I've got my eye on you.
Have a great day cottage, Cat, Loriann, tk, and Gonnabe

coffee's kicking in and time to get to work. check in with you chicks at lunch.

02-12-2008, 10:07 AM
I think today is going to be just as busy as yesturday so I wanted to drop in before it all gets started

Loriann I only do the bowling thing beacuse of dh who has done it for his whole life & he's 42 now & he is very good. I don't go every Tuesday

Good luck Cyndi :dust:

Have a great day Cat

Dawn I hopr your day gets better

Ruth you gotta love a truthful ticker especially when they show good #'s

Kara Avery sounds too cute

Cottage biggest loser helps the hour on the treadmil go by

Hope to check back in soon

02-12-2008, 10:15 AM
Well once again the weather man was wrong! We ended up with about a 1/4 inch of ice but not the 4-6 inches of snow they said we couldn't avoid this time! I think I am going to change professions, I need a job where being wrong is the norm! :dizzy:

Cottage Hope your storm it's too bad.

Gonna There is just to much on tv for me tonight, I will probably tivo biggest loser so I can watch big brother.

Loriann I second and third everyone on the scales being dumb! Don't stress over it too much.

Cyndi sending you some :dust:

Cat Gotta love those new shirts, I had a new one on yesterday and the fact that I found it at TJMaxx for $5 made it extra special!

TK Hope your day goes well!

Dawn Here's hoping the grumpies go away soon!

Ruth So glad to hear you are feeling better!

Kara oh how I miss the snuggly time!

Me DH is being just awful. I don't have a clue what I am going to do. MEN!

02-12-2008, 10:17 AM
That was interesting. I just made the first recipe - berry streusel bars. I thought I would be tempted by those -berries and oats, what's not to love? The recipe calls for melted margarine mixed with the oats. The sight of all that melted fat really turned my stomach. Guess I won't be eating those.

Cooking is like gardening for me - I love them both because I only do them when I want to. I suspect I would lose that love if I had to do either day in and day out.

02-12-2008, 10:48 AM
All of you sound so busy today-Not me! They shut the doors to the business I worked for 23 years!!!! We hadnt paid rent for months so landlord changed locks. Oh well its not like I didnt see it coming. I did pray it would hang on till Cancun trip. Will look for job when we get back. Not much to do since we're packed. will spend a couple hours on net looking for job, then go walk even if sun doenst come out, run errands, spend the eve with husband. oh and stay on plan.

02-12-2008, 10:56 AM
Morning sun bathers!
Running late, as usual....Going to pick up bagels and cream cheese for my you think they know how bad they are for you? I'm going to watch them eat them and then say "You do know those are evil, right?" Hahahhahaaa.....

I'll stop in a spot on the beach for me and when the cabana boy comes by tell him I'll take a tropical cocktail with a pretty umbrella!

02-12-2008, 11:08 AM
Happy Tuesday! It's hard for me to respond to everyone individually during weekdays because I'm always in a rush to get to work, but I do read them and I'm thinking about y'all...and cheering for y'all, too!

Trying to get ready for Valentine's without being tempted by all the sugar everywhere. Not easy!!!!! :) Trying to think of a delicious alternative to sweets that would satisfy my young boys...

02-12-2008, 12:03 PM
Cottage: I'm glad the girls had fun skiing! Hope the weather doesn't get too bad for you. There have been some crazy storms this year! :dizzy:

Gonna: Wanna switch? I'll watch Biggest Loser and treadmill-it while you go to my TechEd class. I don't know why, just not feeling very "school-y" this week. Have a nice day!

Loriann: I'm glad you seem to have found a good work-out buddy! What a great inspiration for you. I wish I could find that out here. Congrats on that 95% workout - I think those are the best. They're really a great motivator!

Cyndi: I'm sending strong thoughts and will-power your way. :goodvibes It may be hard, but thing of all the discounted SB-friendly stuff you'll get out of it!

Cat: I'm sorry about your Curves situation, but I had to giggle when I imagined a cow barking workout orders to YOU! Have a great day and enjoy your new shirt!

, tkglenn!

Dawn: I say to heck with them, you be crabby all day. I know I will be! ;) Hope your crabiness subsides!

Ruth: Congrats on getting closer to normal! Wanna do my taxes? I'll be starting on them this weekend and am really dreading it!

Kara: Have fun with all the visitin' today! How neat that your DH is close to retirement - and ya'll are so young! That's great.

Schmoodle: Sorry about the crappy sleep. I agree that the sleepover trend is a bit annoying, but I think it's probably here to stay. It's been like that since I was in Jr. High 14 years ago. We drove my parents crazy with it! I hope you catch up on your sleep tonight!

Stephanie: I agree! I would love to get paid to be wrong all the time. Although, some may argue that as a government appraiser that I do! ;) Hope the ice isn't too dangerous on the roads! Stay warm!

SANative: How 'bout them Spurs? I'm SO glad they won last night! Sorry to hear about your job  but it sounds like you're just fine with it. I'm sure there's a decent sized job-pool for you to search through there. Have fun relaxing until Cancun!

KT: Sorry, but I was planning on sending the cabana boy over to Ruthie's. She may need help with her taxes! ;) Enjoy watching your customers eat!

Bella: Have a good day! Thanks for thinking of us when you can't be here long - we all do the same thing! Good luck finding Valentine's Day alternatives!

Me: Just class and work, as usual. Not a great day in Statistics as I just got my test back and it wasn't great. It was, however, the second highest grade in the class, so maybe there will be a curve.

Basically, that's my day. Oh, and I need to go grocery shopping! How exciting!! Hope everyone has a great day!

02-12-2008, 12:08 PM
Ok, well, I'm back. Took the puppies to the vet to get their dew claw taken out and their tails clipped. I can't stand to hear them cry so I left. They are back with their mama now eating. She missed her babies like crazy. Forgot to give my son his ADHD med this morning so now I have to run over to the school to give it to him or he'll be giving the teacher a run for her money today. Then I think hubby wanted me to pick up his mom from the bank, not sure. Well, better get going to the school. Have a wonderful day everyone.

02-12-2008, 12:09 PM
I made it in before lunch time - we are not as busy as yesturdays but busy

Stephanie hope everything works out dor you with your dh

SA  sorry to hear about your job

KT your funny. I will be sure to let the caban boy know what your drink of choice is. I sure hope he's good looking

Bella good luck with the candy temptations. I told my dh no candy as I will have desert at dinner

be back later....

02-12-2008, 12:11 PM
Sorry I missed you Kim we were simulposting. If I could switch with you I would.

02-12-2008, 12:34 PM
So far we've only seen a few sporadic snowflakes but the schools are all letting out at noon. Cindy called and told me she's picking up the girls and to stay home = SNOWDAY! I guess we'll all feel pretty foolish if this turns out to be nothing, but I'm enjoying it for now! :D

S.O.S. for Schmoodle! The split pea soup is divine, but how do you keep it from getting so thick? It was simmering on low heat nicely, but now it's solidifying, I just added more broth to it! Help!

little chick
02-12-2008, 12:45 PM
Good Afternoon chicks..... Can you hear that???????? Thats right you can hear nothing.... pure slience. It is beautiful. Today is the first day in over a week that I have not had someone home sick with me. Only have 4 wee ones here today and one is upstairs sleeping the the other three are watching a movie all snuggled up. I hope this moment lasts for awhile.

Cottage- glad you little ones got home safe and sound. And had a good time skiing. Do you ski?

GONNABE- I plan on watching the biggest loser as well, I hope I make it home from my latin line dancing class in time.

Loriann7:lifter:glad you found a work out partner :boxing:

CyndiM:wave: have a great day

femme sounds like you are going to have a great day. Love new clothes.

Dawn Hope the crabbies have gone away

Ruth  glad that you are moving around. Enjoy your fire and sunshine and a good read. Take care of yourself.

Kim Hope class goes by fast. Have a nice day

bellaluna- I have dance class on V day, so we are not even celebrating. Maybe on the week end. DH never buys me candy thank goodness. We don't even really celebrate it much anymore.

Pacer- Glad the weather man was wrong. I hope ours is as well. They are callling for snow, freezing rain, back to snow again for tomorrow. I can feel a snow day coming on.

SAnativegirl sorry to hear about the job. Hopefully you will find another soon.

Me- Not too much, did a little tidying up and trying to catch up on laundry. Dance class tonight. Other than that not much. I have been maintaining which is amazing. Eating has been not so very good. Need to get my butt back in gear. Well must dash need to switch over the laundry and make the bed. Love clean sheet day. Have a good one.

02-12-2008, 01:09 PM
cottage, it will do that. Wait until you see it tomorrow! I like it thick, but on the second day I have to add more liquid. You can just thin it down with water or broth to the consistency you like.

02-12-2008, 01:10 PM
Wow! In just 20 minutes time everything is snow-covered! I guess it means business this time!

LC, I used to ski years ago, but not anymore. After breaking my ankle and foot 4 times now, it can't take it, LOL! I didn't go along on this ski-trip since their entire family was making a holiday of it, but normally I just sit nice and cozy in the ski lodge and help out whenever I'm needed.

02-12-2008, 01:13 PM
cottage, it will do that. Wait until you see it tomorrow! I like it thick, but on the second day I have to add more liquid. You can just thin it down with water or broth to the consistency you like.

Thanks, Schmoodle. :) I'm glad to know the thickening is normal!

02-12-2008, 01:28 PM
Oh, and just be careful, if it gets really thick it has a tendency to stick and scorch.

02-12-2008, 02:42 PM
Hey chatties! Our snow has taken a brief hiatus. It started up around 9:30 this morning for a couple minutes and then was coming down nicely for about an hour earlier but I just looked out and it's clear. I'm waiting for my sister to get here with my niece. Oh, she just pulled up! I'll catch up on personals later!

02-12-2008, 03:07 PM
Kara, I was reading your post and I was like, wait, she should be in bed by now! It's hard getting used to the fact that you're stateside and on a different schedule!

02-12-2008, 04:50 PM
You think you're having a hard time with it?!

Actually, we're pretty adjusted now. I'm having a blast this time around! The last time we were here I was so stressed because Tom was heading over and I didn't know whether we were going or not and I am such a wus about being away from him. This time I am fully enjoying being with family and am happily counting down the days until he gets here (30, in case anyone else is trying to keep track). I must say that I really missed having a full-size washer and a separate dryer, and there are SO many food choices here! WOW! I didn't realize how limited our selection was over in Korea! So far, those are my big things. Oh, and using my mother-in-law's stand mixer nearly took my breath away! :D

02-12-2008, 05:23 PM
Oh Cabanna boy! Wow would it be nice to be laying (lying?) on the beach right now.....

Gonna--Cabanna boys are by definition cute....just like pool boys!

OK, I am hungry today....I resisted the bagels and cream cheese even though the smell of them filled my car for the 10 minute drive--in the old days I would have eaten 1 in the car on the way to the account and then another one with the customers!

I just need to keep visualizing myself on the beach looking toned and tanned.....:flow2:

02-12-2008, 05:34 PM
KT thats the way to look at it (toned & tan) - way to go on resisting those bagels

02-12-2008, 05:46 PM
Gonna....thanks! I used to use the line, "Well, tan fat looks better than white fat"......and though it's true, I hope to have less fat to tan this summer! :crossed:

02-12-2008, 06:06 PM
Hi again chickies

Quick question: who is everyone cheering for on Biggest Loser? I want one of the women to win...but not sure which one is my ultimate fave!

And KT, I agree about tans making us look thinner (though, sadly, I haven't tanned for years bc I have to watch out for skin stuff). Why is that, anyway?

02-12-2008, 06:14 PM
Hey all, turned into a beautiful sunny day so went to an outdoor mall and walked fast for half hour. I went to Whole foods and looked around, bought some cheese and whole wheat crackers, we are having friends over thursday, how romantic!!! Went into bookstore, read up on Cancun, ended up buying ANOTHER diet book. Guess I collect them. Extreme Fat Smashers-Dont worry, I'll never leave the beach its too sunny here! After vacation I may try it. If that Power Woman Kara can do it with her jet setting life, maybe I can drop 10 lbs. Kara-do you ever sleep?:dizzy:

02-12-2008, 06:19 PM
Kara, so how long are you stuck in Jersey for? I've been stuck here for the last 32 years.

I'm busy making a pot of chili and watching the snow come down. Hopefully I can read this whole thread later.

02-12-2008, 06:23 PM
Between work and DH I am at my wits end today! I have files stacked around me that I can't do anything with at the moment and that just doesn't make for a calm working enviroment.

DH has been fighting through text message today as if I don't have enough stress already. Why is it that men only think with one head and why does their entire life revolve around it? (sorry if tmi)

I really just want to go home an goto bed! First though I must go chip away at my car again as we have gotten more ice since I came in! The roads seems pretty clear though so I think I am good there.

Hope you chicks all have a great evening, thanks for letting me vent and god grant me patience! I am woman, hear me roar! ;)

02-12-2008, 06:23 PM
Regarding The Biggest Loser....I want Kelly to win and my favorite guy is Dan.....

A nice tan (no sunburn and not baking in the sun to the point where at 70 you look like a prune) always makes me feel healthier....not sure why...

Nice job on the walking, SA--when are you heading to Cancun? Have room for me in your suitcase?????:D

02-12-2008, 06:28 PM
Stephanie I hear ya loud and clear girl ;) Men AARGH!!!

For all who told me to indulge my grouchies...Thank you. It was exactly what I did and my world was quieter for it. Amazing how people just run when I have that look about me. Even unloaded some on DF. I may or may not be over the grouchies but I decided I'm entitled.

Hope everyone else had a great day. Stay warm and safe.

02-12-2008, 06:33 PM
Pacergal....Men! They just aren't fully evolved yet....thank God for girlfriends!

OK, I'm hungry and what am I doing??? Watching Food Network while I finish up work emails.....I think I better change the channel!

02-12-2008, 06:36 PM
DH has been fighting through text message today as if I don't have enough stress already. Why is it that men only think with one head and why does their entire life revolve around it? (sorry if tmi)

:lol3: Bwahahaha! Sorry to laugh, but that is too true!! I hope things get better and I hope you don't mind my laughing about it! Here's a hug to show how sorry I am for laughing!!

02-12-2008, 07:20 PM
pacer-I know what you mean. When DH and I aren't fighting about money and stupid petty things then all he does is touch me where I would rather not be touched at the moment. He can never just hold me around my waist or just rub my arm or something, it's always the other stuff.........I'm tired of it. And he's always asking for it and I tell him no because he asks for it and it defeats the whole purpose when asked for. Then he gets mad because I say no all the time. Trust're not the only one. Good luck with you and DH. Mine hasn't been talking to me for 3 days now. And it's over something petty and dumb but he was in the wrong for it and I'm not about to apologize (sorry for sounding so childish but he was totally wrong about it). Ok 'nough 'bout me. This is your vent, not mine.

02-12-2008, 08:21 PM
KT yes a tan does seem to make us look smaller & sexier

Bella I'm not chering any one on just yet

SA glad you day turned out nice

pacer and tk - I'm in the middle of my third divorce and I know how hard it is when you aren't happy and your husband is being a jerk. I wish you both the best. I know when you are busy and stressed in one part of your life, it makes it harder in other areas too.

Me- I'm primary oncall this week and it has been really busy. I got paged and had to run a call starting at 7:30 this morning. It was almost 7:30 tonight when I got off the phone. I got someone to cover for 10 minutes so I could take Brian to school and then switched to my cell phone to pick him up. Thank goodness the problem was found and fixed. Hopefully tomorrow will be quieter.

I asked Brian about Valentines days ago. He didn't know anything so I thought that maybe they don't do them in 5th grade. Then he came home with a list of student's names tonight. Since tomorrow night he will be with his dad and has gymnastics, that means I need to try to get him to do 28 tonight.

Good night, ladies. I'd better go check on him.

Neko, I grew up in south Jersey. We're right across the bridge from Philly. After high school I started moving around a bit - went to college in New Hampshire and then studied in London for a semester and then Tom came back from his first trip to Korea and I moved out to Seattle to be with him (finished college out there) and then we got married and have been packing and unpacking non-stop since...western Washington, D.C., Texas, northern California, back to New Jersey to stay with family for a bit, off to Korea, now back home again... I think this last one was our ninth move. We've been married eight years! My six year old was counting states he'd been to the other day, and he got up to 25 without even looking at a map. Each of our kids was born in a different time zone, and the youngest has lived half her life in Korea! I don't know what I'm going to do when Tom retires and we actually stay in the same house for more than two years...
