Hello! Tom had a wonderful first day of work. He likes the office, and the people. Best of all, he loves that there is a Chic-fil-a right up the street! :lol:

I unloaded and reloaded the kiln and turned it on. It is already off, and cooling. Can't wait to open it tomorrow! Then I need to load it again, so I better go finish glazing.

I ran to the ceramic supply store, and then to Costco. I spent way too much money. I got a couple things I usually don't buy- like some frozen pizzas from a place in Chicago one of my aunts worked at. They will be dinner for everyone but me one night.

Ok, off to glaze! Talk to you all later! :wave:

it is warming up here! it is now 10 degrees.

B: cracked wheat with splenda, cinnamon, and polaner's strawberry spread (i have decided i don't like cracked wheat as much as steel cut oats)
L: Toni's stew and SF pudding
s: 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce and one apple
D: low carb tortilla with 2 slices turkey bacon, lettuce, and 1 T mayo
stir fried brussels sprouts, broccoli, carrots, and peas

I'll eat more later, but I don't know what yet. I am proud of my veggie intake from the stir-fry, but I added lots of sodium with soy sauce (even though it was the low sodium kind) and steak seasoning. I'm just not the type of person who can eat plain veggies.

Good Morning,

So Yesterday I had my body composition done. Ha, what a project that was. I thought she just took a tape measure and measured waste, thigh. Etc. Oh no. She took this pinching device, and literally had to pinch my fat to get a number. She called it a skin fold. But I laughed and said lets be realistic, your pinching my fat. Thank goodness this woman is a friend of mine. It was a smidge embarrassing. Anyways, the number total was 88 which calculated to 32.7% body fat. She said anything above 32 for my age (25) is high. So Basically I still have a lot of work to do.

She did tell me that real effective weigh loss can be slow if someone is very active because the fat converts to muscle. And the whole muscle weighs more...Yada yada yada. So in 2-3 months we will do it again. I am hoping that I can at least being it to 31. 28 is average for my age. That is my new summer goal, as I will have it done again in April, then end of June.

The overall goal is to not get discouraged. This can be such a difficult thing when there is little progress being recorded. I.E The damn scale) I have to say though, no matter how hungry I get I still don't reach for non legal food, or candy. Thats huge for me. Although last night at work i was so hungry I almost had a bowl of cheerios.

Have a great day everyone..:)

Oh and MOnet I hear ya about spending way to much money at the ceremic store, I went to the yarn store and woah..did some damage there. its fun though!! :)

Good morning! I am supposed to have lunch with a friend today, then tonight I have to single guys coming over for dinner. I already have a large roast in the crockpot and will make them mashed potatoes to go with it. I think I will make a spinach salad too. I love spinach salad! :)

I have the kiln cracked and am just waiting a bit to open it all the way and unload. I was testing a purple glaze and what I saw looked good. I never did glaze last night because I wanted to see how the combinations I used in this kiln look. So I waited.

Have a great day everyone!

GYM: I have a stash of yarn too! :o I would be afraid to have my body fat percentage done! Yep, ostrich syndrome!

CHRGRL: How did you stir fry the brussel sprouts? Were they fresh and you did it- whole or cut? Or did you use frozen ones? I LOVE brussel sprouts, and I am curious. New ways to cook them would be great! I hear you can roast them too, and roasted asparagus is awesome, so I bet roasted brussel sprouts would be good too. (for the asparagus, you drizzle the spears with a bit of olive oil, then sprinkle them with kosher salt and roast them at 400 for 15 minutes on a foil lined jelly roll pan.)

Off to check the kiln! :wave:

chrgrl
02-12-2008, 09:47 AM
i quartered the brussels sprout and then sauteed them first with some water, then i added some olive oil and soy sauce and seasoning. i have roasted them before, but i think i like them stir-fried better.

Happy Tuesday ladies! I am the only girl at work. Two of the guys are here and that's it. One can't get in at all and one has to shovel the drive to get out and one, spent so long getting home last night, said she was not fighting it and would come in later. The young generation.
We ended up with about 4" and then ice this morning. I did wait until 8:00 and daylight before I headed out. I made my DD come in with me as she works around the corner. After we got here, she found out they were closed until 10:00. She is sleeping on the couch now.
I am more than ready for summer. We've had the snow, bring on the sun!

Ray, is that the actual temp or wind chill? We ended up only with 4" and lots of ice. Such a fun day.

Chrgrl, brrrr.... That's pretty cold. Try to tay warm.

Gym, yeah that body fat thing is embarrassing. My guy did it with just some hand held thing and that was bad enough. I figured you were gaining lots of muscle. Throw thescale away for awhile and just go by measurements. You will see a difference there. In fact, everyones tarting this WOE should take their measurements.

Monet, girl you are always cooking for someone. Dinner sounds delish.

Bob, move over, I'm may have to head down there to get warm.

Better get something done. Have a great day. :hug:

MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!

SYSTEM DOWN...BOB HOME!! Oh well, I can at least get my laundry finished.
I could do nothing but sleep this weekend and by yesterday, I felt like someone had put me through the mop wringer!

JACKIE...It's 64 degrees here. It was really chilly this morning and I had the heat on in the car when I went to work. We're supposed to have some bad storms at the end of the day, so I'm glad that I'm home if that's going to happen. Did you get the ice that Lexington got?

MONET...So glad that TOM likes his job. I envy his being able to get the ChickAFilet that close. It 's a good thing ours are not close to my house or I would be eating them every day!

I'll check in a little later..

Quick Good Morning Folks,

Took the day off from work yesterday, to recouperate after a very busy weekend. Had to stand on my feet singing a lot on Sunday and I totally wore the wrong shoes, my feet are still aching and swollen even 2 days later.

Last night my Daughter came home sick with the same symptoms that landed her in the hosp at christmas time. A very high white cell count, roaring viral infection, took her to the ER and at least this time she was not anemic so they didnt admit her, gave her fluids and antibiotics through the IV and we came home at 3am.

I am now sitting at my desk at work even more exhausted than I was yesterday. I guess that's life.... Hope I make it til 5pm w/out crashing on my desk.

Breakfast was a bean & cheese taco...it was the best I could do this morning since I was running late.

Hi Everyone-Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I've been so busy. I weighed in yesterday at 189. I'm happy to keep moving down. I had an MRI today for my headaches. I should know soon what's causing them. Hopefully nothing that can't be fixed. I have a brutal headache right now from the MRI. It was so loud and pounding. Soon Parker will go down for a nap and so will I!! I hope everyone has a great week on plan and doesn't get too much snow.
Bye for now:wave:

Hey everybody!! It's rainy and yucky here and everyone in the house is SICK! I have been so tired and icky that I haven't even been eating enough food. Nothing illegal except a slice of pizza the other night... just not ENOUGH food. It's so hard to make yourself eat when you feel yucky and your sinuses are stopped up and everything tastes like the container it came in!

Hope all of you are having a good week! It's a really BUSY one here. My boss is going out of town to see her grandbaby and so it's just two of us and we are slammed!!

Gotta get back to work... just wanted to check in so you didn't send BOB with the wagon after me!!!!

Hey everybody! Pouring down rain here, went out at lunch though and here it is: roasted white chicken breast, purple hull peas and cabbage (my usual).
Temp is supposed to drop this afternoon after the rain moves out.

Tonight will be Progresso Carb Monitor Chicken Cheese Enchilada Soup. I haven't had it before so I'll let y'all know how it tastes.

Have a safe afternoon if y'all are out and about.

The soup was very good, I saved the other cup for tomorrow. I didn't actually "see" any chicken in it, but it does say "shredded". Well it's shredded mighty fine is all I can say. But it is good.

It did turn cold after the rain stopped.

I am SO tired I want to just lay down and sleep. I ache all over, and I am not exactly sure why, except I have been going all day long. Dinner tonight was nice, and one of the two single guys who came over for dinner bought a vase from me to give to a girl he is taking out on Valentine's Day. Yay!

The weather was pretty nice. We went to a Vietnamese Noodle soup place for lunch. I got a small bowl, and ate the meat, veggies and some of the noodles and broth, but could not finish it!

I still have stuff to do....like make Tom's lunch and a smoothie for his breakfast, so I better get to it so I can go to bed!

Night!

Happy Hump Day!

It rained all evening and now we have ice all over the snow. What a mess. I took it slow and easy and had no problems. I am so ready for Spring.
We did not go to the gym last night. With all this mess and I was exhausted. So we vegged out in front of the TV all night. I have been so tired lately and can't figure out why. Must be the RA, who knows.

arawagrl, :welcome: You can chat all you want. Lately, we have been very chatty. Jump on in and ask any questions you may have.

Bob, hope you are not coming down with something bad. Yes we got snow and ice and then it rained last night and it all turned to ice. Move over.

Rosemary, you should have taken another day off. Hope your DD is better soon. Enjoy your :tread:

Stilltrying, you are doing great. Sounds like you are really motivated.

Chris, congrats on your loss. Hope your MRI turns out ok. Keep us posted.

Mercee, I don't know how you stand the temps and snow in Chicago. I guess you are used to it and they probably take better care in cleaning the roads there.

Beth, at least being busy makes the day go quicker. Hope you are feeling better soon too.

Sparkle, Bring on Spring, at least when it rains it will be warmer.

Monet, that's pretty good, invite them to dinner and sell a piece. Good going.

Guess I had better get busy. Have a great day! :hug:

Oh my gosh we've been iced in all week. Steve has yet to get back to work cause WE CAN'T GET OUT OF HERE! Theres a thick layer of ice covering everything. He can't even get our truck door open or the hood to our scout to charge the battery. Its really a mess. We've lost power twice. I swear where did this stuff come from. And its calling for more snow Thursday night and Friday. Steve got out in the yard yesterday and tried working on our stuff and fell. So today he will try again. My eating has been horrible. I'll be back later....

Hey Ladies,

I have crappy weather here too. Snowed all night, now rain makes for a very slipery wet mess.
I taught my sports class and then took the adult class. That class is very different, I will miss it when I teach the second class in 2 week. After taking 2 days off to be a slug, stuff hurts today. That will teach me.

Surprisingly my eating has been awesome since Friday. gaining yet 3 pounds from 3 weeks will make one rethink eating. (tomorrow is my planned cheat day..YAY VDAY) Everything I ate was counted and measured via WW, and my overall fruit, veg, carb, free, and dairy has been really accurate. I hope this helps--Im not going to expect miracles, but eventually something must give. Even my bakery sf treats and cookies are countable. They are cheap pt wise as well. 2 cookies =1pt. It actually made me feel good to know this because all the times i though I "overate" the cookies I wasn't really doing BAD. I guess its all in stride. Over eating anything is never really grand..but hey it could always be worse.

The plan is read and relax until the next class..:) I hope everyones days is going well. To all my snowed in friends..Boy can I relate.

Still-Nice job on the weight loss..Go you!!

Toni-Like I said I can relate. Good luck as having no power can suck. I hope Steve is alright..The ice is a killer.

Kate-The first shopping is always interesting. Have fun and read everything. I was so surprised to find "good" foods with sugar added..or enriched flour. it was crazy. Where bouts in Nh are you? ha gotta love this weather.

Solly-I hear ya Bring on SPRING..I had a veg nite myself. Luckily I work out in the am..Id never make it if I had to go out at night. Horray for the tv. LOL

Monet_I hope your feeling better. being tired and achy isn't fun. Im glad someone has nice weather!!

Rosi-Enjoy your treadmill...YAY!!!

Mercee-We posted at the same time...So good morning!! Enjoy your day!! Don't work too hard!!

Rosemary - I hope your daughter is better soon and you get some rest.
Also glad you got your treadmill.

Still trying - Way to go on the 1.6 pounds. Keep it up!

Chris - Your doing great, good for you! Good luck on the MRI results.

Mercee - Glad your getting good use out of your treadmill.

Beth - Hope your household is well soon and the boss gets back and
takes some pressure off.

Sparkle - Laughed at your "couldn't see the chicken" I guess they can put
a fraction of an ounce in there and still call it and ingredient.

Monet - I hope your not coming down with the flu that's been going around.
I read they messed up and the flu shot is not as effective as most years.
Something about they guessed the wrong strain of flu for the shot. Hope
you feel better soon.

Gym Rat - Glad your not letting being indoors with bad weather mess up
your eating plan. Way to go!

I'm doing pretty good. We are having decent weather so I can't complain. My
sister in VA. has not had power for a couple of days and it may be Thursday
before it comes back on. I once spent a week without power in the middle of
a hot summer and it was miserable. My food has been decent but not perfect.
I do best eating at home, eating out is such a temptation. I hope all are having a good week. SMW

SMW, eating out is a chore. Just try to make the best choices you can.

Mercee, Hang in there, don't get overwhelmed.

Stilltrying, You are doing great. Keep it up.

Toni, We don't have it that bad. We can get out at least. Poor thing, I would go nuts. It's supposed to warm up here to 50 tomorrow, what about you.

Mom, I always wondered about OA. I definately could use the mental help. Looks like you have to be successful.

Toni, good luck! It's been snowing a lot here and the roads have been icy, but at least we've been able to get around.

Well, today some drug rep brought some goodies into work and I decided to stuff my face a little. I had more than a few of those yogurt covered pretzels and then like 3 sandwich cookies. i just ran on the treadmill and worked out on the total gym, so hopefully the effects won't be too devastating!

Good morning! I slept poorly last night, and slept in a bit. I need to wander down and find some breakfast and make some coffee.

I have no set plans today. I think I need to clean a little. Justin cooked dinner last night and typical male, made a mess in the kitchen that did not get cleaned up. I would have done some cleaning before I went to bed, but he was frying up more chicken breasts to put in the freezer. He makes them like a Chic-fil-a, as sandwiches. That is what we had for dinner last night. I had mine on one piece of whole wheat bread, and the rest of them ate them on wheat buns. And my primary vegetable at dinner last night was pickles. :rolleyes: I need to monitor a bit closely when these guys are fixing dinner to make sure the menu has some healthy aspects to it.

I am excited. My portable potter's wheel has been giving me trouble and the company offered to send me their next better wheel to replace it. I agreed. The better one will handle more clay, and is a fairly nice wheel. I love good customer service! :)

I am loving not feeling sick to my stomach from Byetta all the time! My bg is about the same as it was on the Byetta. Not great, but if it is going to stay the same, I would rather not have to remember to do the shots. I hated having to cart it all to a restaurant when we were having dinner out.

Off to find some coffee! :wave:

Happy Valentines Day Folks!!!

I was woken up at 4:30am by a kitty kat romance seranade outside my bedroom window. I couldnt get back to sleep so I eventually got up and did a mile on the new treadmill. I was out til 9pm last night at choir practice so I did not even try the treadmill last night. Glad I had a chance this morning. and you know what it actually energized me. I took a quick shower, dressed for work and I even feel like I am breathing better than usual.

DH unfortunately gave me a v-day gift set complete with lots of chocolates...brought them in to work to regift...lol.

Checking in..boring day at work. I'm feeling sleepy today, probably because it's slow. Eating has been "okay." Could be better. Robby fixed me an omelette this morning with cheddar cheese, onion, mushrooms, and jalapeno's. It was really good. I had some almonds not too long ago. Lunch is asparagus and chicken. Another snack will be sf yogurt. I have chicken legs in the crockpot with Kraft's Light Barbecue sauce(not 100% legal, but better than others) for supper tonight. Robby will probably throw some sides together to go with it. Not going out for dinner cause I'm sure the restaurants will be packed tonight. We have a "date" for Saturday..dinner and a movie. Probably won't be a legal day so I'm trying to watch it until then and make sure I do a workout everyday. Robby got me a big bottle of Beautiful with the free gifts that come with it. I told him that he better not dare buy me chocolates,lol. I have no self-control when it comes to chocolate..I'd eat until I literally got a stomachache. I hope you all have a good V-Day!

Toni, I sure hope the warm temps and sun melts everything enough to get you out of there. I would be eating too.

Chrgrl, Good job working off those calories.

Monet, that's great about the new wheel. You don't find that much any more.

Rosemary, Did you figure out all the bells and whistles on the :tread: already? I love getting on there in the mornings, it's just getting out of the bed that's so hard.

Mercee, good job with your eating even though you are swamped. That usually keeps me from eating. Slow days, make me want to eat all day.

Heart, nice gift. I usually get perfume as well. Always needed and appreciated.

Just got back from meetings and I am starving. I brought bbq for lunch. I had a pork roast that I forgot to freeze so I made bbq with it. Semi legal as the sauce was low in sugar. No plans for Valentines Day unless DD & I go out to eat. DH cuts fish on Thursdays for tomorrow's fish fry. No biggie. Everywhere will be crowded tonight anyway. Made it to the gym last night for about 40 minutes. Should make it tonight too.

Got to run eat lunch. Have a great day :hug:

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. Hubby and I decided to do ours Saturday, since tonight every place would be too crowded. I will be getting my requested Valentine gifts which are a dvd player for the bedroom, a new skillet ( a good one this time) and a ped egg. Lunch today was Quizno's roast beef & cheddar, cut the mayo, add mustard. I ordered a small one, but got the regular size instead by their mistake. Ate it all.
Supper tonight is nachos made with triscuits, jalapenos and shredded 3 cheese blend. No chili or sour cream, did'nt have either.

Have a nice rest-of-the-evening!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am discouraged. I have been absolutely faithful to this plan for almost 2 weeks now. Not only have I not lost so much as a pound, no inches either and I feel bloated al the time. In monitoring on Fit Day, I am at 1500-1600 calories, a steady 500+ cals less per day than I was eating so there should be AT LEAST a pound off. Not even water weight! :?:I am trying to exercise but I am not doing any strength training so it's not muscle and it's only two weeks anyway. The exercise is slow going because I have had recent issues with sciatica, tendonitis and a heel spur, all at once and all on the same side.
Plus now arthritis in my knees which makes squats and lunges more difficult as I can't go down so far without "locking up." But that aside, I am moving and doing as much as I can daily.

I have to say I don't feel hungry but I don't feel comfortable either.

So today I cheated. 2 Hersheys kisses, 2 mini hershey bars and a piece of cake! Not horrible, but what the heck. I've just never had no progress on a new woe before. Atkins gets boring but it does produce results so I am thinking maybe I need to switch to Induction, eat the meat, cheese and eggs for a few weeks and then switch back. :shrug:

Good Eveninig,

UGGH Cheat day is over..and holy moly. Not worth it. I feel so sick..I wasn't even horrible like I used to be, I prolly had less today than i would have had on an old "normal" day. Just goes to show me Sugar is bad.

I was at the gym though for 2 hours thank god. 45 min strength, 10 abs, 45 cardio boxing, and 20 stretching and leg work.

Dinner was at the 99 with my best friend who also follows sugar busters. We are both regretting it big time. I had breaded shrimp scampi, over linguini. Only ate half because we had cheese and crackers, 2 potato skins, 1 chicken strip with honey bbq sauce, and for dessert I had a mini brownie Oreo Sunday with van ice cream. Granted I know why I feel sick, this used to be something id do just because it was the 1st Tuesday on the 3rd month halfway in between July. HAHA In other words..For no reason id eat crap. Im not even weighing in tomorrow. I feel good knowing that I don't like how cheating makes me feel, so getting back and staying on the plan for me is 95% easy. Just someone kill me I feel so icky.

HAHA Well I hope everyone had a great day!!!

Happy Friday,

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's day. We went out for Mexican. Need I say more. Today we are celebrating my birthday (tomorrow) at work. One of the girls made cranberry bread. Have to eat it. We will probably go out for dinner tomorrow night.

Misrubi, Hang in there. I know you are discouraged, but this does work. Maybe you should cut your calories to 1200 or 1300 a day. Are you drinking lots of water? Hopefully next week you will see a nice loss.

Gym, Now you can see what you were doing to your body. Glad you are back on track today.

Sparkle, good idea waiting until sat. Everywhere was packed last night.

Tech, :wave: How is business?

Toni, It has warmed up here so maybe you will get out soon. At least you can talk to us.

SMW: :wave:

Heart, :wave: Have a good weekend

Bob, any movie pics this weekend? We may go see Bucket List on Sunday afternoon.

Monet, are you sleeping in today? Oh, I read in our paper last night that the American Diabetes Soceity just published a study that determined 4 cups of coffee will really mess up a diabetics glucose. I know you like your Expresso, so maybe that is the culprit. Check it out.

Have a great day and a great weekend everyone. Talk to you Monday. :hug:

Happy Friday Everybody!

Went out to eat last night for V-Day. Had very nice grilled fish...tried to only eat a little of the baked tater that came with it. But the kicker was that DH bought some chocolate covered strawberries when we were leaving. I had one with a glass of wine when we got home. There are 3 left in the fridge! OK V-day is history.

Well the rain is settling in here and promises to stay through the weekend. I will spend the weekend curled up with a book and try to fit in some treadmill work outs through out the weekend. I found out really quick that it will take me some time to build up my routines. I can barely do a 1/2 hour straight...trying to get up to 3mph sustained. Havent even tried the automatic workouts yet. At least I'm not flying off of it. I can even let go of the handles for a little while.....lol.

I need to head out in about an hour for a weekend retreat up in the mountains. I am just about packed, and will get Tom on the way out of town. I dropped him at work this morning on my way to get lab work done.

SOLLY: That is interesting about the coffee. I have been drinking espresso every morning since Tom was laid off, but it doesn't account for why it was high before then. :dunno: I will try to lay off the caffeine and see if it helps. Thanks for sharing that...

:wave: Ya'all behave! See you Sunday evening, or Monday morning.

Wow I can't believe I've been in this house for seven days. My eating is still horrible. Its hard being trapped inside and can't get out how your eating can go to H_ _ l. I just am not very happy with myself. But theres hope. Rain is coming tomorrow and it should wash allot of the ice off then we can get up the hill. This is what happens when you live in the woods. Nice 90 per cent of the time. Hope everyone has a great week end.

Good Morning Everyone~

Yesterday was my first day bak on track and boy did I have a headache from you know where. i was thinking that if there are meds out there to help drug addicts w/draw from drugs, there shoud be somthing for sugar. I was sick to my stomach and the whole nine yards, BUT. today is a new day and although I am disappointed about my fasting numbers I will continue on. I can't expect perfect blood sugar readings after only one day of being o track although I wish that was the case!!!! Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Saturday!!

So yesterday made a week of point counting along with no sugar. Weigh day was also the day after a huge cheat day. Funny I was still down a pound. So now I only have 1 .5 to go to get back to my lowest so far from this WOE. My optimism is renewed. Yesterday was tough in the way that I was way under my points. My stomach just didn't recover so well. Everything I ate made me feel sick. I only ate 15 points. I'm supposed to hit 26. I'm just trying to recover from the sugar rush i guess.

Im going to the gym this am and Im forcing myself to eat egg beaters because I have to. It's a 2 hour class and Eggs are the only thing that really hold me that long. I always have almonds with me too, just in case.

My best friend and I are having a party tonight and all the food is based around legal SF foods. Thank goodness he likes to cook and bake cause there are some great recipes he played with. We hope no one notices the SF theme. HA

Ok Have a great weekend everyone!!

yikes, where is everyone?

my husband is snowboarding in colorado till wednesday, so i'm kinda bored. i think i'll use his absence to do some of my tae-bo videos in the living room. usually i work out in the basement, but it's always super cold down there.

i think my total gym is doing me well....i am noticing that even though my weight hasn't dropped a ton, i am quickly fitting into my smaller clothes.

Happy belated Valentine's day to everyone. :val1:My husband and I went out to dinner Friday because I had to work Thurs night. He got me roses on Thurs, so that made me smile. I hope you all got something special from a loved one too.
I have been really down these past couple of weeks. I think it's because I miss my daughter who lives and goes to school in Manhattan. I just can't believe how quickly time goes by. I think back to when she was just a little girl, and I was the center of her universe. I also know that my 18 yr. old will be leaving for college in the fall and that's on my mind too. It's going to be a new phase in my life and I just have to remind myself that mothers long before me have faced the same thing, and they survived.

Now to the personal posts-
Solly- Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your cranberry bread and your dinner out.

Chrgrl- You have the most disciplined eating and exercise regime I've ever seen. Good for you! Congrats on the weight loss too!!!!

Gymrat- I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your cheat, and kudos for you for getting right back on track.

Momoftwinboys- Hang in there . It does take a while.

sparkle- Hope you enjoyed those rib eyes and your family.

Toni48- Here's hoping you get the heck out of that house and soon. You must be climbing the walls by now, which by the way is good exercise!

Monet- Hope all is well, and thanks for the well wishes with my MRI.

Mercee- I hope you had a great weekend too. Thank you for always cheering us up here.

Rosieinsa- So happy to hear you're working your way up on that treadmill. Baby steps. And like you said, at least you're not flying off it!

Msrubi- Don't get down. Sometimes it just takes some time and tweaking before you start to see results. Hang in there.

Smw- Thanks for the well wishes. I'm sure everything will turn out fine. You and I have to keep up with each other since our height and weight are very similar;)

I weighed in today and stayed the same 189. I'm going to try to start exercising regularly and see if that kicks it up a notch. Only 18 more days until Florida. I've never been to Venice and am looking forward to it.

Have a great week all-Chris

Happy Monday, hope everyone had a great weekend.
We went bowling on my birthday. My sister and her husband, niece and her husband, my nephew and his little boy. It was a lot of laughs. No one had bowled in years. Dinner turned out yucky. Didn't liek the food at all and service was horrible. Yesterday, my DD cooked dinner, fried chicken. It was good. They gave me a Chi flat iron. I have been wanting a good one.

That's all behind us. On to a better week.

Gym, I love you dearly. I wish I were 29 again. I think. No the big 55. Maybe I am eligible for senior citizens discounts now. Better eat all your points. That's not good either. How was your party?

Monet, hope you had a good retreat.

Chris, You will be surprised when you have that empty nest. First it is hard, but you start liking it and develop a new relationship with your husband. Then it's summer time and they come home. You think, yuk, I was liking my new life.

Toni, have you gotten out yet? Hope you are feeling better about yourself and back on track.

Sparkle, Yum ribs, my favorite. Were they good?

Chrgrl, you are very regimented. Good job staying on track. Smaller clothes is our goal. Congrats.

Kate, hope your headache is all gone and you are moving on. I would like a pill for food, so we wouldn't have to think about food.

Better get busy here. Have a great day. :hug:

Morning! No scale for me this morning. The retreat center cooks rather southern style, and I could just FEEL my limbs swelling from the excess salt! I will wait a day or two and keep drinking plenty of water...

The retreat was great. Lots to process and think about. The weather was pretty nice on Saturday, but rainy and foggy yesterday as we headed home. We stopped up at my friend's house, which was close to the retreat center. I picked up all my glaze chemicals and everything else I left up there. Then we continued south towards Atlanta, and stopped at my daughter and son in law's. He is the one that used to be a chef. He made dinner and we ate with them. He made a broccoli casserole with a whole wheat bechemel sauce, and ham. He also had made a rosemary bread that was divine...though I think it was unbleached flour. I still tasted it. I was pleased that it did not do a horrific number on my blood sugar levels.

I was sleeping deeply and dreaming vividly when Tom woke me up with espresso this morning. He is off for President's day.

TONI: I hope you have been able to get out! I can't imagine being trapped at home like that! :hug:

SOLLY: Your bowling sounds like fun! I am sorry the dinner was a bomb.

GYM: How did the 'legal' party go?

CHRIS: Solly is right...you get used to the new life and then they come back. :rolleyes:

DTRMND: Congrats on not gaining on the vacation!

OK I checked my weight again and I am down to 178! I am so thrilled. I know I am not following the same plan as you all, but I have taken out all extra sugar in my diet. My rules are:
No adding sugar to anything
If I usually have splenda I only use 1/2 of it
If sugar (any form of it) is in the first 5 ingredients of a food I skip it
Since Feb 6 I have lost 3lbs just doing this.

Well finally Steve got out of here yesterday. Finally got our mail and went to the grocery store for us. I didn't go because I knew the hill was still so slick and I didn't want to have the soup scared out of me. I might try driving up it tomorrow myself. Hopeing today will thaw it a bunch more. The weather doesn't look to good for us this week. I'm trying hard to stay OP today. I'm just taking one day at a time. Breakfast was 1 egg, 2 slices of low sugar and sodium bacon and a piece of sourdough bread oh and a small OJ. Got to run have a happy day.

The heahache is gone, but now I have a sinus infection so I am under the weather, but I know I will be back to my old self soon!! I made a great lasagna last night...no complaints from my children on the whole wheat noodles. I am loving Uncle Sam cereal so overall I think I am doing pretty well. Once I feel 100% I will be back at the gym...tonight I skipped my favorite Zumba class!!! I hope everyone has a great night!!! Good Evening,

Phew what a crazy couple of days.

Solly and Monet-The "legal" party was awesome. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was nice to feel good at the end of a party and know that we did "good" I won't lie and say I didn't eat more cheese and crackers or sf ice cream that I should have. but at least it was legal.

We both took yesterday off from the gym to rest. I thought, due to school vacation I wasn't going to make it to the gym much this week. Well I got out of work early so I took Shane's class. He my best friend who is an instructor at my gym and also follows the SB plan. I only planed to take boxing, but he had to sub the weights class so I ended up getting a great impromptu work out.

I hope everyone is having a great night!! I might not be around to much suring the day but I iwll try to check in at night. Happy eating!!

Good morning ladies,

Made it to the gym last night. DD made hamburgers for dinner. It was great not having to think or cook dinner. No cooking for me all week (which is probably not a good thing). Tonight we are sampling a new restaurant (brew pub), Free dinner and drinks for only a contribution to charity. Tomorrow is bunco and Thursday's DH is not home so DD & I usually eat out,but right now nothing sounds good. Got my taxes together and vegged out ont he couch and went to bed. Had to get up extra early today and be at the doctor's at 7 AM. Made it to work by 8:00.

Monet, glad you had a nice retreat. Is your SIL not a chef any more?

Determined, congrats on not gaining on your vacation. Good job.

Chrgrl, I just noticed you lost 6.5 lbs in Jan. :cheer: That is fabulous. Keep up the good work.

Still trying, glad to see the scale is moving for you. 3 lbs is awesome.

Toni, glad you are partially out. It was so warm here Sunday, surely you are thawed by now. Unfortunately, big ice storm is hitting here on Thursday, guess you will get it first. Stock up.

Mom, hope that sinus infection clears up quickly.

Gymrat, good job ont he party and the exercise too. I wish I had your energy.

Better get started. Have a great day! :hug:

Hello everyone. How was everybody's weekend? I wish I could report that I did well, but nope. Totally blew it..big time. But ya know, the only thing that I really enjoyed out of ALL the crap I ate was the cream cheese HUGE brownie. Everything else wasn't worth the gain. I'll spend all week trying to get off the gain. I was off yesterday. Got my bloated butt to the gym and did some killer cardio. My eating was pretty good yesterday. For supper, I made parmesean chicken, squash casserole, green beans, and whipped sweet potatoes. I normally don't make big meals cause I don't have the time. Yesterday was a treat. The parmesean chicken was really tasty and legal. Just use Good Season's Italian dry seasoning packet, Kraft's parmesean cheese, and garlic to coat the chicken breasts and cook in oven. I made a squash casserole using cheese and crushed triscuits. It was "okay." But I like my other type casserole better. I had 2 leftover sweet potatoes in the fridge- just scooped them out into a bowl, added some milk, splenda, butter, and cinnamon(heated up) and whipped with a fork. Tonight, Robby will be cooking. Probably have spaghetti(no noodles for me) and a loaded salad. Alright, work is calling! Have a good day.

Hello all, I am doing pretty good on the food. I have had almost
no sugar and just the cutting out of that is making a difference.
I know I'm still drinking to much diet soda but I am working on
that and drinking more water. I have lost the couple of pounds
I gained when I ate to many starches and working on that to.
I'm certainly not doing a perfect program but it seems to be
working anyway. I have tried cooking several things on the George
Foreman grill I got from my sister. I have found the one thing
that really works well for me is grilling fish. I had never cooked
much fish as it tasted to mushy when I baked it in the oven.
Using the grill I really like how it turns out and it's not very hard
to clean the grill afterwards as fish doesn't produce much grease
to clean. For the first time I am following the "fish twice a week"
rule. Hope everyone is having a good week. SMW

chrgrl -- You are doing so well!

Chris -- Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, let's keep track
of each other and keep each other motivated.

Toni -- Hope things have turned around and you are not house
bound anymore. The winter blaas can make us a bit crazed.
Hang in there, this to will pass.

Michele -- Glad your back OP. Keep on going!

Monet - Good to hear you enjoyed the retreat.

StillTrying - You have found something that works for you. That's
terrific, keep it up!

Momoftwins -- I am prone to sinus infections to. Get well quick!!!

GymRat -- I am happy the party with the legal food turned out so
well. Who knows, maybe one of your guests will be inspired to
change their way of eating.

Mercee -- Five pounds is great! Keep on doing what you are doing!!

heartmom -- We all blow it now and then. The important thing is to
get back on program and keep moving forward. You can do it!

Solly -- Sounds like you had a great birthday. I'd like to be 29 again
to. For that matter, 39 or even 49. I'm stuck being 61 but I am going
to try and be the best shape I can be in by sticking with SB and
getting more exercise.

Sparkle, rubi, and anyone I missed. Keep working your program and
let's all keep posting and giving tips and being there for each other.

Hi All!

Well, cheated like a mad woman on Saturday-nachos (corn) with refried beans and some horrible cheese product, a couple of strawberry daquiris and then key lime pie.
I did not feel physically bad and didn't beat myself up.

I did look at my eating and decided I could be a little more stringent in some areas. Bagged the 2% milk and switched to skim (yuck), drank 32 extra oz of water, and cut back on my coffee. Although coffee itself doesn;' seem to stall me, I do like it light and cannot drink it black, but drink a lot of it. So one cup at home and one med DD (usually 2 at home, an extra lg from DD and then another lg in the aftrenoon). The half and half is adding a lot of fat so maybe that is keeping me from losing. I did weigh on Saturday, no loss and then today. Down 1.5 pounds after 16 days. I'll take what I can get! :carrot:
I did review all my products and nothing is illegal but again, maybe too many starchy items though I am careful not to have two in the same day. We'll see what happens. I'll give it two more weeks but I've just never lost this slow on any WOE.

Thanks for the support and inspiration!

hey everybody - been away from the puter for a few days. Eating is going along pretty smoothly, I'm not gonna make my 10 pound loss by March 11 and the reason is cause of the weekends! Saturday I had a rib eye, okay, no problem there, but then a piece of cheesecake. Ate the entire thing.
Sunday hubby and I went to IHOP, did okay there, nothing illegal. Sunday night had 5 pieces of pizza. yep, I'm not ashamed to say it, I did it. But there was most certainly a time when I could have eaten an entire one by myself.

I don't have any problem during the week, but the weekends I just seem to lose all control.

I hope everyone else has done well. Have a wonderful rest-of-evening.

Good morning,

Dinner was good, I had a bbq chicken salad. It had corn in it but only a few pieces. Their bread was some type of all grain. It was good. Problem was, we could have had an appetizer or dessert. The other couple wanted the dessert. It was a very warm cookie with 2 scoops of icecream. Luckily, we split it 4 ways and left some too.
I have bunco tonight so I may not make it to the gym. Buth then I might try to sneak in a quick workout. Dinner will most likely be chili (she always has it).

Sparkle, weekends are my downfall also. I guess I need the regimine of the weekdays. I wish I knew what to do. Maybe we should start a weekend challenge or something. After I mess up one day, I don't jump back on track,I think I have to wait until Monday.

Mercee, :cheer: on the 5 lbs. That is great.

Heart, good to hear from you. Join the weekend losers. We need to figure out how to get thru them OP.

SMW, congrats on your loss as well :dance:

Toni, glad you got out and got some food in the house. Come on you can do this.

Msrubi, glad you are starting to see a loss. Hang in there, it will come. Posts some menues and let everyone take a look at them and maybe we can see a problem.

Cgrgrl, you crack me up with your sweet potatoes and steak seasoning.

Better get started. Have a great day. :hug:

Good Gravy it's been soooooo hectic around here! I haven't been able to get on and read any posts in a week! Eating has been going pretty well... Valentine's Day I got a new car instead of chocolate! :carrot:

Monday was my son's birthday and we went to Chuck E. Cheese and I only ate ONE small slice of pizza and NO cake! I did eat a hot dog with regular bun for lunch yesterday, but I was starving and it smelled soooooo good.
I haven't even made it to the gym in a week... I have GOT to get my schedule more under control and make some ME time to get my butt in gear!

I bought that treadmill the girl here had for sale, but it's not sitting level and the belt is tracking off to one side and rubbing the machine. Dave said he will fix it, but I'll probably have to wait months for that to happen because RACE season is starting up and he's so busy trying to get his car ready that he can't even think about anything else! Luckily the weather is starting to warm up and I'll be able to hit the pavement a few days a week as long as it's not raining!! That will work until he can fix the treadmill.

Oh well... it's 8:00 and the boss will be coming in soon, so I'm off to look busy! I actually have 3 new employees to process in this morning, so I won't have to try too hard to look busy! Then we have to go to the jail this afternoon after work and check the jail books, so I'm gonna miss the gym again cause I won't be off work before they close... I tell you what, I need a nap!

Hope everyone is having a great week and staying OP!!! I'm trying really hard... lordy knows I don't want BOB to have to run me over with the wagon!!!!!

Wow as I read here, it seems that all of you are doing so very well...that is so great! Congrats and Keep it up!!! (or should I say keep it off..lol)

I am down 1 more pound...that is awsome for me.

Has anyone tried the Walden Farms products? I ordered some and I am excited to get them, since they are fat free sugar free carb free and calorie free....I have heard good things, but as expected I am a bit skeptical.....I look forward to hearing if anyone has tried them here and if they are good....

Hi everyone! Just a quick check in. Business is paying for itself and Friday night pizzas for home and that's about it. At least it's paying for itself. I'm positive it will blast off once the weather breaks and the snowbirds migrate back north.

Derek's job prospects have come to a stand still. They all just seem to be stringing him along with 'we just have to wait till this contract runs out with the other vendors' or 'we are just waiting for approval from HR' and meanwhile, unemployment is going to run out before long and then we're sunk! The bills we have are more than he's making on unemployment and if it weren't for a hefty tax return, we'd be two months behind on the mortgage and car payment (first instinct...sell the car...but problem is we owe more on it than we can sell it for).

Anyhow...it doesn't seem like it, but I'm remaining optimistic that something will turn up. But there's about a 50% chance we'll have to move. The company that Derek worked for that laid him off said they may want to hire him back (of course, if this contract comes through or this other contract comes through) but they'd want him living in NJ. Not even the least bit familiar with the state to even start looking at houses there.

The other prospect is Derek just sent a resume to Boston University to be a photo lab technician. I can't tell you how excited I am for that. Imagine the opportunities for the kids!! Kyle and Shelley alike!! Once, again, though...not a clue as to where to start looking at real estate in Massachusetts and, of course, I'm afraid of buying a haunted house. I know, I'm weird.

Anyhow...not any time for replies. Just wanted to check in with you guys and give you an update. I'm glad the board is busy!!

Monet: Thank you so much for including me on your treasury! You're the first to include me in one!! :hugs: The girls in my Hookers team never include me. I've done two and totally stuck to a crochet theme and included all people from my team, but they never include me. They don't even reply to my posts. I've sold two items and one was to my mom. :rolleyes: I have to relist everything like you said, but I just haven't had the time.

We went to Syracuse last night and drove through some lake effect snow! :fr: It was like driving through a snowglobe on acid!! Very scary!!

Okay...off to open the shop so I can stare at the walls. I'm reading a great book, at least and reaquainting myself with non-animated daytime TV. And getting lots of crocheting done!!

Bye :wave:

Good morning. Opps its almost noon. I'm lazy this morning. So I've dozed in the chair. For some reason this has been a hard winter for me and I'm dreaming of planting tomatoes and herbs. Sitting out on the porch in the sun. But its really not far away.

Solly-Thanks for the encouragement. Don't know why I'm having such a hard time. But I am. The chicken salad sounds good and I'll bet you had fun.

Tech-I'm so sorry about Derek's unemployment. My prayers are with you. When I hear whats going on in your life my problems seem very minor. You have such a good attitute. I hope he gets the job in boston. I would love to live there.

Stll- I can't wait for you to get the Walden products. I've been dying to know how they are.

Beth- good for you at Chuckecheese. Wish you could get the treadmill going.

Mercee- Howdy.

Well better go cook something for Steve. Happy day.

Well once again folks...my hammer toe is giving me lots of trouble. I did a stretch of 4 days on the treadmill last week. Then on Sunday, I stood a lot in dress shoes and since Monday...any shoes I put on really hurt me. (OK I am vain...50 pairs of shoes, not a single orthopedic granny style in the bunch...lol) So of course no exercise unless I try barefoot on the treadmill.

You know what really steams me up, is that I know I really need to go see a podiatrist, and probably need out patient surgery on the toe and that will keep me off my feet for a long time, but the worst of it is I just dont want to shell out the bucks to get it done. Crappy copays, and deductibles and 20% this and that. So I try to just ignore the problem but I know it isnt going to go away <sigh>...

Meanwhile....hubby just had to have chinese buffet yesterday...I tried to stay with shrimp dishes.

Im off to the gym tonight..weights and boxing. Although let me tell you running around for 3 hours this am was quite the work out..Phew.

I have tomorrow off thanks freaking goodness. I hope to do detailed responces tomorrow.eating has been so/so to much eating on the fly so i have been very into sf muffins and cookies. no sugar just not as balanced as i like. I also ate my sisters stuffed pepers last night and she makes them with instant bronw rice. talk about being desporate for dinner..i would have eaten anything. I did have spaghetti squash and zuchini. I ned to eat more protein and less carbs. Carbs are quick though..its so hard some days.

have a great night ladies..tech..cute hats..If i was diciplined enough to stay with a project I could sell also. I just like to do it for fun. yay you!

Okay, some menus. Please peruse and let me know what I'm doing wrong. I put the times only in first menu as I eat same about same time of day on weekdays and want to show that I do space my eating like book suggests.

Today:
B. (9 am) 1/2 c. shredded wheat
3/4 c. 1% milk
15 blueberries and 4 strawberries
1 coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 and splenda

S. (11 AM) Atkins shake (I don't stall on these)

L. ( 1 PM) Roast beef and swiss on a ww tortilla w/mustard
16 oz. H20

S. (3 PM) sm cup SF applesauce

4:30 Sm Starbucks latte with SF syrup
16 oz. H20

D. (7 PM)

1/2 c. ww cous cous
8 oz. roast chicken no skin
1 lg tomato
1 tbsp olive oil
16 oz. H20

S. 2 sl swiss cheese

Yesterday:
B. Shredded wheat and 1 % milk with blueberries
coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 and splenda

S. Pear-16 oz. H20

L. 1 c. romaine w/roasted chicken, no skin. 3 tbsp vinegarette dressing (homemade), 1 tbsp shredded chedar, 5 kalmata olives
16 oz. H20

D. 1/2 c. ww cous cous
6 oz. mahi mahi
1 tbsp olive oil
1 med tomato
3 lg broc spears
16 oz. H20

S. 2 sl. swiss cheese
Arizona diet iced tea

Other days are variations of, but lunch is usually a salad or wrap with chicken, tuna, turkey or rst beef. I do better if I have a snack before lunch and one after than having a larger lunch. Dinner I usually have ww cous cous or brown rice. as a grain. If I have a sweet potato I make sure I didn't have another really starchy item that day. I could eat more greens.
Most days I am at 1500-1600 cals but when I use the olive oil to cook with that bumps it up.

Good Morning,

Finally I am off today. I can breath. I am going to the gym at 9, and I have a Jafra party to attend tonight at 630. Thats all I have to do. PHew. I have laundry and cleaning like crazy to catch up on.

I did a good cardio/strength class last night, thats always fun. I am sore today because I pushed myself and added more weight.

Bob-Im sorry to hear about your funk, just take it one day at a time. We are all thinking about ya! :)

Beth-Congrats on the new car. What did you get? Im going to Chuck-e cheese tomorrow with the kids. My plan is the over priced salad bar. I love their pizza though.

Stilltryin-Congrats on the 2 pound..Go you. I haven't tried those products, but Im curious to find out how they are. Please let us know.!

Tech-WOw good luck to Derek with the Boston job. I live just outside of Boston. Its a good place to be. :) And don't give up on your etsay stuff..it will pick up eventually.:)

Msrubi-your menus look good, and your water intake is also good. I hate to say this cause it drives me crazy too. It may just be a slow process. I get struck for weeks at a time. Drives me nuts. It will come off to don't fret and just stick with it!

Rosieinsa-I looked up a hammer tow...OUCH! That looks PAINFUL! I have a bunion on my left foot and man if your hammer toe is anything like the pain of a bunion I would be running to the Dr. I dont have insurance to cover mine yet, not until summer...so I will be getting mine fixed ASAP...I would do the same if I were you.

Hi Ladies Bunco was fun, but eating was not good. I think Toni & I need to sit down together and get our heads on straight. We are getting a big ice strom here. Hope it turns to rain soon.

Bob, what's got you in a funk? Hope you are doing better.

Toni, we are getting a big ice storm as we speak. Hope it misses you.

Rosiensa, I have severl ahmmer toes and 2 are getting worse and worse. Have you ever tried those ortho things you can order out of foot catalogs? I keep thinking I will and wondered if they worked. My podiatrist said not to waste my money, but then he wants my money. I hav already had Morton's Neuroma's cut out of each foot so I don't want to do any more surgery. Plus the insurance crap.

Still trying, I have tried 1 of the WF dressings and agree, it is light water. It wasn't awlful, but not good.

Beth, wow, what a Valentines's gift. What kind is it?

Sparkle, you love the rain? Guess it beats snow. Give me a beautiful sunny day any day.

Mom, have a great vacation.

Gym, enjoy your day off.

Tech, sending prayers for you that things turn around soon. You have such a great attitude. Keep the faith.

Msrubi, try cutting your starhes to 1 a day for a while and see if that helps.

Monet, Sleeping in today?

Chrgrl, :wave: have a great day.

Better run. Have a great day.

weighed this morning, only have to lose 7 more lbs by March 11 and I will have lost 75 total in one year!!!!! I can do it, I wasn't doing very good, especially on the weekends, but I'm gonna cut that out so I can get this 7 lbs off.

Pouring down rain here, went out for chicken and broccoli at the chinese joint for lunch (not a buffett), no rice or eggroll, just some nasty iced tea. I'll water water next time. Then went next door to Cato's but didn't buy anything. Then swam back to work, ha ha.

Daughter and I are going to Sam's after work, talk to y'all later!

Another 2 lbs. as of this morning. Maybe it is water, maybe my body needed to readapt as I have so abused it with diets over the years. Whatever, that's 3-1/2 since Sunday. :D:carrot:

Solly, I thought about the starches too. I will try limiting and see what happens.

Rose: Nothing works for the hammer toe except removing it (the joint). You will have a floppy toe :smug: but it will feel so much better. Unless you can wear open sandals all the time.

Hello everyone. I'm snowed, sleeted, and rained in today and again Steve couldn't go to work. We sure haven't had a winter like this in a very long time and I'm awfully sick of it. I need sunshine. Eating is still bad.

Solly- Something has got to click and help us. WAAAAAA !!!!! I just can't seem to eat right and it makes me crazy. Guess you've got this rotten weather too.

Bob- Sounds like you've got the winter blues too. We'll have to ride it out.

msrubi- Only think that struck me was maybe some more veggies and a couple more fruits. Congrads on losing....

sparkle- You're doing wonderful. You can do those 7 lbs.

Stilltryin- Did you get your dressings today?

Gym- Sounds like you're so busy. Take some time for you....

Mom- Are you returning your agave? I hope so. Then you can get a new one.

This morning I went to the women's Bible study at church. I really like the group, and enjoyed myself. I meant to work when I got home, but ended up just puttering around and not getting anything significant done.

Dinner was Chinese meatballs and nappa. Lunch was a piece of fried chicken (made with whole wheat flour), and I ate about four or five tangelos throughout the day. We got a box of Florida tangelos as the last shipment of our Christmas present from Tom's sister. Yum!

I am going to try and catch up with my work tomorrow, but will try and get here earlier.

Good Morning Ladies,

So this am was weigh Day. I LOST..Woah after a few weeks of wither gaining or just staying the same I am finally back down to my tracker weight. So I think its 2 pounds lost from last week. I may be more but this week I ate a lot more carbs in the form of crackers thats to 3 parties. I felt like that was better then something illegal. This was a tough gym week as well because I had the kids home with me.

We are supposed to get a lot of snow today. Im not sure I want snow yet again. Im taking the munchkins to chuck e cheese then we have a class. I also want to attempt the gym tonight. This should be interesting.

Monet--Hey Nice to see you!! I had the opposite issue yesterday. I was supposed to relax and I was a crazed nut cleaning everything. sometimes I wish i could sit still for more than 20 min. What is a tangelo, and nappa? Im curious.

Toni-I feel ya with the crapy weather. Is it spring yet?

Chr-Yeah coffee can be a catch 22. When im drinking it im great after i feel yucky, if I don't drink it i feel yucky. Some days im like WTF. At least you did something 40 min is great. :) Good luck weighing in today!

Mercee-Hope today isn't as busy. have a great day!

Msrubi-YAY congrats on the 2 pounds..That's awesome!

Solly-I missed you yesterday. Have a great day..

Ok I gotta run sorry If I forgot anyone..have a great day!!!!

TGIF!

Boy glad this week is over. With all this weather I am ready to be at home or be driven around by DH.
No plans for this weekend. Got to get the house cleaned and ready to be painted. May strip some wallpaper if I can find a paint color.

Sparkle, 75 lbs is awesome. :dance: Hope you make your March 1st date.

Msrubi, so glad the scale is moving for you. Keep up the good work.

Chrgrl, I only drink decaf, but was at a meeting first thing this morning and all they had was regular. I am a big and fast drinker so I had 4 cups out there and now I aam about to jump out of my skin. Congrats on your loss.

Toni, we are getting rain today and melting this crap. I am ready for spring too. I have been doing some serious talking to myself and ready to do this once and for all. Spring is coming and I have to wear clothes that don't cover this body up and a bathing suit :fr: Time to get serious. We can do this together.

Gymrat, how was Chuck E Cheese? That place is so loud. Guess you don't mind it when you are young.

Stilltryin, have a great weekend. Hang in there.

Still- Happy Friday. Have a good week end.

chrgrl- Have you thought maybe you're not eating enough? Congrads on the 1/2 lb. I would kill for that.

Happy Friday everyone. Sorry I haven't posted much this week, but I have been recovering from travleing.

My daughter had to put her kitty to sleep yesterday, so we are grieving. He had FIP and no one knew it when she adopted him two months ago. She is 20 and I am proud of her for loving him enough to not allow him to suffer. She is devestated, though.

I am down 1lb today! I think that is remarkable since I REALLY was off plan last week and weekend. I will say that I noticed that I did not go crazy with the eating and NOTHING really tasted very good. MAYBE I am making true lifestyle changes. Now to speed up the excercise!

I will post more later.

Have a great Friday, everyone!

GymRat-Congrats on the 2 pounds!! :)

chrgrl-half a pound is half a pound girl!! I think you aren't eating enough too. Even plans like Atkins stress getting the full 20 carbs or your body goes into starvation mode and you won't lose. Some people actually get a boost in weight loss when they up the carbs. Personally, I have been to nutritionists and not one has ever recommended less than 1500 cals. :spin: Too few calories will make your body do the same thing, go into save mode. Try it. Toni suggested I try more veggies and fruit and I think increased calories if the right kind, work in our favor.

StillTryin, Solly, Sparkle-what awesome and inspiring weight loss!! :carrot:

Dtrmnd-I feel a pound gone is a pound gone!! Good job!:D

Toni48-I agree, more veggies and fruit, thanks!!:)

Mercee, Monet and anyone I missed...thanks for a great board and all the support. :bravo:

Everyone have a great weekend and I'm sorry for all you snow bound people. I remember it vividly-can't get out, can't get to the gym, and all you want to do is EAT! :smug:

chrgrl
02-22-2008, 05:52 PM
oh, i get plenty of carbs because i eat 2-3 servings of fruit per day and usually 2-3 servings of something starchy. i am not one of those low carb people, i just can't stand to eat so much protein. i'll fiddle with my calories and see what happens. the problem is when i go to sites like spark people and/or fitday and put in all my info they say i should eat 1200-1400 calories per day in order to lose 2 pounds per week. we'll see. i'm in the middle of an anger binge today, so i'm going to make up for some lost calories! oh well. back on track tomorrow, that's what i always say!

Hello everyone! We had a very snowy Friday here, at least 9 inches. Needless to say, we were all snowed in for the day. It was nice to get a break and I even managed to prep a bit of my daughter's bathroom to get it ready to paint.

I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter's cat had to be put down, dtrmnd. I know what you and she are going through. It's very devastating, especially when you don't see it coming.

I'm so happy to see all the losses this week. Great job everyone:carrot: I have stayed on track too this week. I find it's much easier when I'm not in the house as much. I took Parker to play dates and brought him to the mall to ride the carousel. I'll have to upload a picture of him one day, he's adorable!! I'm so glad I have this job, he keeps me laughing.

I weighed in today and was 186. I'm thrilled beyond belief. That brings me to 30 pounds lost since the end of December. I am eating about 1200-1400 calories a day so I don't think I'm going too low. I know it won't continue at this rate forever, but I'll take it as long as it lasts. I was such a sugar & high carb addict before S.B. that I think just stopping all that junk has really helped my metabolism too.

Have a good weekend all, especially to those of us who have to shovel our way out.:dizzy:

Sorry I have been MIA again today. I had breakfast with Kaeleb, my 18mo grandson, this morning. Then we played for a while. When I handed him back to his mother I felt like I was behind and had to go pack up a box to ship, and run to the post office. Then I ran to Costco and picked up a few essentials. I did not throw today, so now I am behind. :(

GYM: A tangelo is a tangerine/pumelo cross. It is usually easy peel like a tangerine, a bit larger than the usual tangerine and has an intense flavor. They are also called Mineolas. Nappa is a Chinese cabbage. It is often used in spring/egg rolls. If you ever eat Moo Goo Gai Pan, it is the light celery like veggie that is wide and flat. It has a very mild, sweet flavor for a cabbage. I love it in stir fries and soups. The head is white and light green and usually rather oval shaped. Sometimes it is mismarked as bok choy. Bok choy has white stems and dark green leaves and is not as leafy. Nappa leaves are oval, bok choy is more like a stalk with several leaves on the end. Nappa is definitely a head...bok choy looks more like a bunch of celery. Both of them are delicious! :)

Good morning everyone. I'm lazy here today but in a bit I need to get some laundry going. Just put a new kind of dinner in the crockpot. The package came with northern and red beans in it and a seasoning mix. You put it in the crockpot with water a can of diced tomatoes and stew meat. I'm anxious to see how it comes out. It will cook all day so I'll know this evening. I'll have a big salad with it. Guess I better run....

Evenin' everyone! Today was the test run of the dressing my daughter is making for Easter. It turned out delicious. I baked a boneless ham, well baked is not really what I did since it was fully cooked, more like heated it up.
She also made a sweet potato casserole (recipe from Paula Deen), dessert was a cheesecake, courtesy of Sara Lee. Oh and deviled eggs.

So today was a bust, but I didn't eat as much as I thought I would and certainly not as much as I would have eaten pre diabetes/Sugarbusters.

Thank goodness it's over - I don't want anything to eat until tomorrow.

Y'all have a nice evening and I will talk to ya tomorrow.

Hey Everyone..WOW no one posted yet today.. Slow day. Hope everyones weekend went well. I finally made it back to the gym after taking 2 days off. The rest was nice--But it felt good to move again.

Eating has been fine--Nothing fancy, nothing sugar. Im just sorta tagging along.

I am on vacation technically from my nanny job this week so I should get some really good gym days in.

Monet-Thanks..Good to know. I'll look for them in the grocery store. Thanks for the info!!

Well have a good night everyone if anyone is reading and just not posting...:)

Eating has been good today for a change. We're snowed in again today so I give up. I know I'll be here till spring. LOL.... Haven't done a thing today but played on the computer and listen to an audio book I'm enjoying. Hope you all had a good week end.

Hi Everyone!

This was a do nothing day here too. Too hot and humid (sorry snow bunnies):D

I was down another pound yesterday but...it was back today.

How do you all feel about ww/w grain pastas? I know the book says the 365 at Whole Foods is legal but I have to tell you, I eat that brand and 1. I am not satisfied 2. I am so bloated after. I do much better with the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest. All those other ww brands look and taste like dirt.

One of the kitties has to go to the vet tomorrow, some kind of abcess on her lip and it look i nfected and of course, she keeps at it. Cha-ching!!
It's never easy or cheap.
But I took the day off as I don't know what this will all entail. Thankfully, I can occasionally work from home as long as I have the phone and email.

Good eating everyone. Tomorrow's another day!

today i did the Killer Butt video followed by jump rope. a good lower body workout, i must say. yesterday i did turbo jam for the first time....i wasn't in love with it, but i will say that today i was kind of sore in some strange places so it must've been doing something! i'm a little more used to tae-bo.

B: scrambled egg with 1 oz reduced fat cheese and low carb ketchup
L: salmon patties, butternut squash, and peas
s: SF pudding
D: salad with romaine, turkey bacon, apple, and lemon olive vinaigrette

i don't know what i'll have for the rest, but it will probably involve a strawberry smoothie at some point.

It was a do-nothing day for me also. Mostly watched the bridal shows on WE tv. Mindless entertainment. I like Bridezillia, Rich Bride, Poor Bride, etc.
Haven't wanted to eat today, but I did have a bacon grilled cheese, a cup of Progresso Chicken Cheese Enchalada soup, a few nachos made with Triscuits, jalapenos and shredded cheese. Supper will be a bowl of bran flakes.

Have a nice evening and I will talk to y'all tomorrow.

Good morning everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I went to the mall Sat to get a bridal gift, my cousin's getting married in May. Macy's has the worst gift registry system in existence, at least the day I was there. I spent so much time trying to get the list and print it out that I just got got fed up and got a gift card. Not very personal, I know, but my sanity was hanging in the balance. Yesterday my girls and I went to her shower in Long Island. We had a lovely day seeing family and the food was very good. I has fish with veggies and small roasted potatoes. I splurged and had a small slice of some type of delicious chocolate mousse. I'm proud to say that night when we got home I was a little hungry and didn't go crazy. I just made a small salad to fill me up. My old way of thinking would have been, well I ate some stuff I shouldn't have today so why not just eat what ever I want for the rest of the day. But I didn't and that is a huge victory for me.:carrot:

Parker will be here at 9:00 so I have to get going soon. Have a great week everyone.

Sparkle- I also like to watch those crazy shows. There are so real crazies out there! Your Easter dinner sounds delicious.

chrgrl- Wtg with the exercise. You are so disciplined. What do you put in your strawberry smoothies?

Msrubi- I agree with you, those ww pastas can taste horrible. I use the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest or the Borilla ww pastas. I think both are tasty.

Toni- I'm hoping Spring comes early for you LOL. I love a day to do nothing though too.

Gym- Enjoy your nanny vacation. You are too funny with your extra energy- send some my way.

Monet- What have you thrown recently? Do you have any pictures of your work, I'd love to see it.

If I missed anyone else, I apologize and I'll catch you next time;)

Well everyone I went to the GYM! This is the first time in FOREVER! I did 15 min on the elliptical and 20 on the bike. Then I had to go home to get ready for work. I plan to go Mon-Wed-Fri. I hope it works well so I can move into going for an hour and then eventually 5 days a week (god knows I need it). I wont weigh until next monday so I can give the GYM a whole week to make a difference. Thanks!

Good Late morning/early afternoon Everyone!!

So day one of my vacation--The plan is to relax, read and crochet. There are many things I could be doing..but im pacing myself..Haha.

I did 2 hours at the gym. the first class was step/weights interval training with abs. The second class was cardio Zumba..Its a dance class I usually have to skip because of time. I forgot how much fun dancing and sweating can be. I have showered and had 2 breakfasts. Although I did put my jammies back on.

I had an awful habit last week and this weekend of dunking cookies into coffee or hot chocolate. To try to fix this I added 1/2 tsp coco powder to my coffee so its kind of a mocha coffee. Im trying to get away from the crap sugar free foods..they kill my stomach, not to mention hinder weight loss.

This week will be interesting..

~~~~~~~~
StillTryin-Congrats on getting back to the gym. Every little bit helps, and your very smart to not try to go back to strong--pace your self. less change of injury and more likely you'll stick with it. Good luck this week!! The elliptical is my fav machine..hate the bike and the treadmill and I are on ok terms. HEHE
Mercee-Thanks I will try not to do too much. I hope you feel better, and Maybe just added rest will help. Try drinking green tea--The antioxidants have kept me well this entire winter. When i felt a tiny bit sick I drank extra. I never fully got sick. Im not a fan of "real" medicine so I usually wait until the last min and get really sick. This worked great. Good luck!
chris313-Thanks..You always make me smile with the energy comment. Sometimes Its so hard--but I do try to keep going full speed. Id be happy to hang out and give you energy. Although I tend to hear that i make people tired..So who knows.. LOL I hate gift registries myself. I have the same issue at babies r us. Its so hard to figure out. I usually pick out stuff circle it and find someone who gets paid and let them figure it out. Much less stress!! Gife cards are always good too..no worries!
sparkle2much-I love mindless entertainment. Good for you taking a mind break. You always talk about these triscuits nachos. How do you make them? and how many is a serving? I have a feeling id end up eating half the box..LOL
Chr-How long do you jump rope for..I take a jump and pump class and after only 10 min of tatal jumping rope (its an interval class) I want to hang the instructor with it. How do you do it? With that killer butt dvd your going to have buns of steel.. HEHE
msrubi46-Thanks..but id give my left arm for the temp to be above 50. So quit complaining..hehe ;) I tend to just have hodginkins Mill whole wheat noodles. Thankfully im not a big pasta fan anyway's--But I love noodles. I just switched from egg to whole wheat. I have had the healthy harvest and its pretty decent once you get used to the texture. Congrats on the pound loss--Get off the scale..you will end up discouraged. Take the pound loss and run with it..no pun intended. it's prolly just water or something that make it come back.
Toni48-What book? I have never tried audio books I have a feeling my mind would wonder. I love to actually read though. What other authors do you read?
Solly, Monet, Bob..Have an awesome day!!!
Ok well--Anyone else i missed..Have a great day. Im sure i'll check in often due to boredom...I don't do so well "doing nothing" after the first hour.
GymRat: i do a jump rope video called "jump rope dancing." it is kind of a cheesy video, but a great workout. i think from 1st to last jump it's about 25 minutes. i like it on days where i need some good cardio but don't have a lot of time. it really gets the heart rate up fast and keeps it there! i often have to take breaks during the video, either because i'm tired or because i stepped on the rope. sometimes my feet/ankles complain as well, so i can't do this video too often.
Hi ladies, this is a late post. I have been swamped today.
Weekend was ok. Eating was so-so. I felt sick yestrday so didn't eat too much. Today I am fine. Didn't do much over the weekend, but that's ok too.
Determined, sorry about your kitty. That is so hard.
Chris, 30 lbs is awesome, Keep up the good work. I wish I coiuld get your mindset, after a binge, get right back on plan, I take 2-3 days depending on which day of the week I splurge. I use skim milk, oj, strawberries and protein powder in my smoothies. They hold me until lunch at 1:00.
Bob, what is humidity? Seems so long ago that we had that. Never heard of those movies.
Toni, are you out yet?
Gym, enjoy your vacation.
Msrubi, I only eat the Ronzoni blended pastas. Don't eat too much of them, but I like them.
Chrgrl, Laughed at your jumping rope exercise. Would love to try it, but I would wet my pants. ha-ha.
Sparkle, my DD loves Bridezilla. We watch it on Sunday nights sometimes. Can you beleive those women?
Mercee, hope you are feeling better.
Still tying, Congrats on getting to the gym. Slow but sure. Don't burn yourself out. I hope to get there more this week too.
Monet, breakfast with Kaeleb sounds like fun. Nice you can give him back when you want.
Got to run do my mail. Talk to you tomorrow. :hug:
Yippee the county came with the road grader today and scaped the ice on our hill so tomorrow we should be able to get out. Thank goodness. Eating has been good today. Had 2 soft boiled eggs and a slice of pumpernickle toast with a glass of OJ for breakfast. And for dinner marinaded salmon, a salad and spinach. I got my treadmill finally uncovered today and will walk tomorrow. I'm trying so hard to get back to eating right. Wish me luck.
GymRat: for the Triscuit nachos I use a small plate (it's bigger than a saucer, but smaller than a dinner plate) and spread them out in a single layer.
Then I put sliced jalapenos on them, I'm pretty generous with the jalapenos. If I have chili I put just enough to cover the top of the triscuits. Then sprinkle a little shredded cheddar and microwave until the cheese is melted.
If I only have the broken crackers left, I use them also, but only after I've used the unbroken ones. It's a quick, easy snack, sometimes it is my supper.
I drink 3 cups of coffee each morning, how does it taste with the cocoa in it?
I'd jump rope if I wanted 2 black eyes, ha ha.
Supper tonight was Paula Deen's recipe for Taco Soup. I did put the can of whole kernel corn in it, next time I will leave it out. Should have left it out this time, hubby would not have known it was supposed to be in there. Anyway, it makes a whole bunch and it is good, especially when you spice it up with some Louisiana Hot Sauce! It had pinto, black and kidney beans in it.
Well I've rambled enough, we are under severe thunderstorm watch until 2am, I say-let it rain!
Just wanted to to say hi to everyone before I'm off and running. I weighed in today and stayed the same. Still staying on track with my food for the most part. I had a little extra protein yesterday since I had a hungry day.
I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.
Sparkle- Looooved your jumping rope statement. Made me laugh outloud:lol:
Toni- you sound like you have the same type of driveway that I do. Snow is always an issue here. There are times when I can't get out for days. I keep reminding my husband that he's the one that wanted to live on top of a hill.
Solly- Hope you're feeling better. Thanks for the tip on protein powder in the smoothies. Some days I feel like my body wants more protein. Believe me, it's not easy getting back on track. I do a lot of self talk to try to stay more positive this time around. Talk to me after I come back from vacation- it might be another story!
Stilltryin- Good for you going to the gym:carrot: That's the toughest part for me-the exercise. I don't even get out the front door. Keep up the good work.
Mercee- How are you feeling? Whatever it is, I hope it goes quickly. Everyone here seems to be coming down with something constantly.
Gym- Hope your not too bored with your vacation yet!!:D
Talk to you all soon-Chris
Mornin everyone-quite a rainstorm last night, or so hubby says, I slept right through it! It is a little colder this morning since the rain came through.
Gym: I tried the cocoa pdr in my coffee this morning, about 1/2 tsp, it would have to be an acquired taste for me, although it wasn't too bad.
Everyone enjoy your day.
Good morning ladies, Thought I would get on here before it gets crazy and I can't.
Made it to the gym last night. Cardio was tough. My legs were worn out after 10 minutes on the eliptical machine and bike. First time in a week was tough. More reason to keep on a even pace of going.
Had 1 totally legal day yesterday. Here's to day 2 :cheer:
Bf; Protein smoothie,
Snack, banana
Lunch: turkey on ww (2 pcs 45 al each)
Dinner: Chicken Poppy, veggies, peaches/cottage cheese
Toni, so glad you got your hill plowed and your :tread: out. Good luck.
well, yesterday i shot myself in the foot. my husband wanted to go to the mall in kalamazoo (about 40 minutes from our house) because there was a snowboard shop going out of business trying to sell off all their stuff at cheap prices, and he needed some new boots. one of my favorite restaurants, Red Robin, just so happens to be in kalamazoo as well, so i suggested we eat there, and then i proceeded to pig out. i ate my entire hamburger and all the fries and then when we came home i had 2 unhealthy little debbie snack cake things.
i'm back on track today, but kind of annoyed with myself. this is 2 major cheats within the past week so i am feeling kind of doomed with regards to this friday's weigh-in. i guess only time will tell.
i'm thinking that in march i will only weigh myself once - at the end of the month. i think focusing on the scale gets me too off track when i don't see the numbers i want. i can see physical changes in my body since i started SB in january, but if i get a disappointing weigh-in it's like i forget all of that, get depressed, and then go into a cycle of terrible eating.
so after this friday, no weigh-ins for me until march 31st!
Good morning everybody. Wow Tuesday already. Today Steve can go back to work at last...... He can get up our giant hill because of the plowing yesterday. It looks to be cold and windy out, brrrrr. I vow to try getting back on the treadmill today and eat good and enjoy the day. Jackson my little dog is busy playing with toys all over the livingroom.
Sparkle- Those nachos sound really good. I just so happen to have cheese and jalapeno's in the fridge. I might try those yummy things today. Thanks for the idea.
Chris- My driveway isn't the only thing we have a mile straight up on our large hill. We live in the woods and nobody else lives within a mile of us. And one side of the hill happens to be on the north side that never melts.....
Gym- Sounds like you had a good day yesterday. I'll bet the baby blanket is nice. I love people with talent. LOL
Monet- I'm so sorry you're sick. Hope you stay in bed nice and toasty and get some rest.
Solly- Yes theres hope for me still. LOL How are you doing? Your eating looks great. And to work out too. You rock girl.....
Evening All!
Well, I did get on the scale again today. Gym, I agree it can be discouraging and why I didn't have one for over 10 years. But I am also 70 pounds heavier than I was 10 years ago so.... Anyway, I lost that pound again plus another pound and a half. I think it (scale) is a motivator and when I don't lose, more so.
Hot as Hades here today :sunny: and then a power outage. We didn't lose power but we were on the road and hitting these crazy intersections with no traffic lights is like Russian Roulette. They say "treat it like a 4 way stop." Yeah, people in S. FLA don't know what a 4-way stop is. It's all about who is braver and quicker on the gas pedal. :yikes:
We are getting a cold front tonight. Nothing above 64 tomorrow. LOL. Sorry snowbound folks. I really do feel your pain, I so remember that weather! :coolsnow:
Chris, Bethel is tough but I think NM was worse. I remember trying to get up my hill in NM and MANY times having to back all the way down because I couldn't get up the darn thing. I finally learned to stop at Dunkin Donuts on Rte. 7 first as there were usually town workers there. I'd buy coffee and donuts and they would say "give us 10 minutes." Ten minutes later Candlewood Lk Rd was plowed and sanded and up we'd go. Tough to stay on plan when you can't get out and you get bored and it's just a viscious cycle. I used to hate those days at home. Spring is coming though! :bike2:
Monet, sorry you're ill. Stay in bed and feel better. :getwell:
Chrgrl-yesterday was just that. Hope you had a betterday today. :flow1:
Sparkle. Tony, Solly, Mercee: Have a great evening and a even greater tomorrow!
Snacks- Yogurt, 1/2 avocado and a V8, Dinner was spraggetti with portabella mushrooms and spinach in the sauce and italian sausage and big salad. Maybe if I'm hungry later I'll have an apple. I still didn't walk on the treadmill and now I'm to tired to. I'll try again tomorrow. Baby steps is what I'm taking. So happy Steve was able to get out of here and go to work today. Have a good evening.
Evening,
I want donuts like you wouln't believe. Its not even that TOM but im craving sweets. My sister just brought 8 boxes of girl scout cookies inot the house. I almost opened one--But I didn't. Im having hot chocolate so not the same.
Today was good- I went to brunch with a friend to Ihop--And I was good . I had a chicken fajita omelets made with egg beaters, and fruit instead of pancakes. I inspired my friend to also eat healthy instead of the other way around. Always a plus.
Went to the dentist and had my filling replaced..DID a bunch of errends and then poof it was 7 o clock. Where the day went i'll never know. At least I started it at the gym.
Tomorrow is teaching classes and the gym--Wed's are my all fitness/relax day. Im hoping to relax a little anyway's tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a great day. Toni-Congrats on the good food day..It just takes one day to feel good and get back on the plan. Rock on!!
Good morning ladies,
We had a dusting of snow lastnight and the sidewalks were slick today. Did not go to the gym last night, but did do30 minutes on the :tread: and about 30 minutes of exercises at home.
bf; toast with peanut butter
snack: banana
lunch lean cusine pizza, apple
dinner chili
Chrgrl, don't beat yourself up. Examine the situations when you cheated and figure out why you did it. Maybe that will help. If it is just eating out, then maybe don't go to those restaurants. We have one Red Robin here but I have never been there.
Mercee, glad you are feeling bette. You go girl with your good eating and exercise.
Msrubi, I want hot as Hades! I should move to Florida.
Toni, :cheer: Good job on the eating. Now get on the :tread: today.
Gym, you don't want to do-nuts. Keep telling yourself that. Have a great day off. Great job at Ihop. What willpower. I would not have been so good.
Monet, hope you are feeling better soon. Get some rest.
Bob, How about those Vols beating Memphis! But then how about Vandy beating them last night? I think Vandy is the real deal.
OK, got to run someone needs to see me.
Weather here like a roller coaster...broke an all time high of 92 day before yesterday and this morning it was back down to 32! My old body just cant take the extremes.
Well lately the scale hasnt moved for me...in either direction actually. So at least no gain.
You have no idea how big this is for me. I have never been much of a person to "go to the gym" but I am making a honest commitment to do it this time and I hope it works! I did 20 min on the treadmill and 20 on the bike today...woohooo
That is more exercise in one week then I have purposely done in a year! (I know sad and pathetic!) But I am trying!!!
Goodmorning everyone!
Have had an extremely busy week. Eating has been ok, except that I forgot to eat all day on Tuesday until dinner......YIKES!
I had a bad experience when i took my baby birdies to the vet. As we left with our great bill of health, I got to the car and as i put them in, the cheapie travel cage collapsed......... I lost one of my birdies to the top of a tree. (his wings had not been clipped as he was only 10 weeks old) anyway I spent most of the day,then some time in the evening trying to coax him back. It was cold and sleeting and raining. even PAWS came out and couldn't reach him.....I feel like the worst bird mommy in the world !!!! He may show up, but maybe not. Luckily the other bird is home and safe, she is just looking for her buddy! Man, it is amazing how a good day can suddenly get crazy!
Off to grab some oatmeal and pack a healthy lunch. Today is my long work day.
Have a great thursday, everybody!
Michele
I had gone to the gym yesterday morning then I went and had my back/shoulder worked on by our local masseuse and it felt so much better, but now today I am a little stiff again. That is typical from going there, I will feel great by tomorrow....
I will hit the gym tomorrow morning and then have my first week down!! WOOHOO.
I havnt weighed in, I am waiting until Monday to see if 1 week makes any difference....time will tell. I didnt have any coffee at work today so it is SF Hot Chocolate....pretty good, may have to switch!
OK I got my Walden Farms products.....and the verdict is.....
NOT BAD AT ALL......
I quick tasted the ranch dressing and the thousand Island dressing and they really seemed like they would be good on a salad...so I will have some tonight when I get home for dinner. I ordered quite a bit of stuff since the shipping was the same with 1 product or 8....so I got the syrup, blueberry syrup, ranch dressing, thousand island dressing, onion dressing, ranch dip and the grape spread. I will try to get them all tasted within the next couple days...(shouldn't be a problem).
SO FAR, I AM HAPPY ABOUT IT...
Good morning all:) Thought I'd post before the day gets crazy. I have a yearly physical today at 9am. I'm curious to see what my cholesterol level is after losing some weight. It's always run a little high, but it is also runs in the family on my father's side.
I didn't have Parker yesterday, so I went into my other part time job and did some teleresearch for a few hours. I like going into the office. It's nice to have adult conversation once in awhile.
Food has been good. Staying OP even though I have been hungrier this week. I think it's the cold weather we're having. Only 6 more days until we leave for Florida. I can't believe I'll be packing shorts and short sleeves! I'm ready for some 80 degree weather though.
I'm down 2.5 lbs this morning!!! I think maybe my last weigh-in was just before TOM, so I must've been bloated.
Hi Everyone!
chrgrl-CONGRATS!! nice loss
I'm up a pound and a half. grrr. Its that TOM so I'm not even going to go near the scale for at least a week. Yesterday we took a collegue out for lunch at Chilis. I splurged and had a gr chix sand AND the french fries, every last one of them. And yes they were worth it!:smug:
Chris, you just missed our day and a half cold snap. lol. You should have great weather if you are coming to S. FLA. The migrating sharks are waiting.:cool: I heard you're expecting more snow tonight. My family is coming in two weeks and boy are they ready!!
Everyone else have a great weekend.
