Sassy post from #36

Hey Gurls.

What a very very cold night/morning whatever it is!!! Its only 11 degrees here and they say with the windchill it feels more like 3 degrees!!! Schools were closing already at 11 pm!!! And our heat is acting up again. I don't know if its because it is so cold or what, but I am definitely going to have DH call the apt. office in the morning. I have the emergency heat on now.

Just had a conversation with DH on the phone about losing weight, seriously this time.........and he's all for it. Not sure how he wants to do it, Calorie Counting, WW's, or what, but he said he'd do it along with me.

I have a goal now, its kind of a high one too. Not sure if its even doable. See what you ladies think. I want to lose 100 lbs by the end of September, on our 10 yr Anniversary. Do you think it is possible if I really really really get serious? Be honest, I know I haven't done well at all in the past, but I am serious now. I think it was my last adventure with my back that did it. I am not doing it now for looks, I am doing it for my health and to live longer. I don't want to end up in a wheelchair in my 30's if I can help it.

So that is my plan. DH does the grocery shopping so he said he will stop buying the crap. He said we can have 1 small treat a week. I wanted 1 meal a week, but he said one treat is better..........So we'll have to work out the details.

I just feel awful that I have done this to myself. It totally disgusts me. I feel like a drug addict, only with food. There is an article in one of my magazines about emotional eating and it says that you need to discover why it is you eat emotionally so you can move on and deal with it in a different way. I haven't read it all completely yet, but that is the gist of it. I agree. I think, no I know my eating started out of boredom. I won't go into all the details, but I know that is where it all began, when I was a kid and I think I still do it to this day and its gotta stop.

I can substitute it for exercise or something else. Maybe take a class or something.

Anywho, that is that.

Oh DH said going into work tonight he saw our boss pulled over by a cop in the parking lot next to our co. Come to find out he was in a car accident (he is ok) and it MAY be his fault, we aren't 100% sure on that part yet.

Well that is about all for me.

Susan -- that is how I feel about my cat too, he is my companion, don't know what I do without the little bugger. lol. I talk to him all the time too. lol.

I hope you all are doing well!!

Mindee post from #36

hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end. we "rented" SC3 off of On Demand on Sunday. The boys were really into it while they were watching it with daddy. I was putting their new dresser together. I sat down and watched it a little bit ago, and I thought it was cute.

As far as Brandon's evaluation, I was hoping for better results, but I just want to know what is the cause of his lack of speech. He was doing so well, and then we hit a bump in the road and he got derailed.

sorry for cutting this short, but I am trying to get through my email. get a couple of emails sent, read, and then off to bed! it has been really cold outside (last I saw it was 0 degrees), so our furnace is trying to keep up with the coldness.....but a little bit ago I noticed that the Filter button is flashing, so we need yet another new filter! (this is the third one so far this winter)

Jules~ That sounds like a really nice looking tattoo! Tommy is already talking about putting flames around his to form an armband. (so we won't have matching tattoos per say, but they will be close)

SuzieQ~ That is actually my third tattoo! I have a couple others that I want to get. One for sure is a matching tattoo with two of my best friends. (they hooked me and Tommy up along with my mom) What is it that they found with Gab? We were watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition on Sunday night, and Brandon was really getting in to it. He was making the motions and some sounds for what he wanted to get across. So.....I am going to talk to Early On again to see where we can go from here.

Sassy~ LMAO! Some people out there are meant to be weasels.....and some of them tend to be boss'! How are things going for you today?

Good Morning!!

Sassy - I think the weight loss would be so much easier with your husband doing it with you. My ex husband never was supportive when I lost weight, which made me more determined but still - you want the man to at least be a cheerleader. I lost 110 from Feb to Sept one time, so it is doable. I wouldn't recommended it though. The next time I lost the same amount of weight was 17 months.
I am not the best at math but that is 16 pounds a month? Divide by 4 weeks, carry the damn one (:nono:can I say damn??) .............hmm, 4 pounds a week??? *sigh. Personally I wouldn't try that much weight , I like the one to 2 pounds a week. It is up to you sweetie, your body is a lot younger. We'll be here to cheer you on whatever you decide :cheer2:

Mindee- I love Extreme Makeover. They checked a lot of things with Gab. What made the most logical sense was her mouth wasn't fully developed, but that wasn't the case when they checked her out. I think it was determined that she is just slow to develop, she really didn't talk to almost 3 years old. She would point a lot and when she tried to talk you couldn't understand her, I would have to guess and she would nod.

I had a slime fast and bagel for breakfast. I feel bloated and TOM is rearing his ugly head. Oh Joy.

I better run! I have tons to do today , being Monday and all.

chat at you later!!!

Hello ladies...

Did ya miss me?

SASSY...ditto what Susan said. You might have a couple of big losses in the beginning because I've seen it at WW meetings...the ladies/men would lose 10-12 pounds their first week-V lost 10 the first time, yikes! But after that it's good to lose 1-2 pounds a week. It's just better to take it off slowly, jmho. It sounds like you guys are having the same weather as us. WE woke up to an ice storm this morning...very weird. It was nice Saturday and then Sunday 36, not even 27 and the ice, ugh!

SUSAN...yay to being at 166! :yay: :yay: You're doing good missy...just stay away from the cheesebread, lol! What a sweetie McD is. So what movie did you guys try to watch in between making out, lol?

JULES...I saw your new pictures...Little Nick is soooo freakin cute! I especially love the one in the little green adorable. Like your tats too! I had mine up there for a while so Mindee and Francie could see them...might repost them...not even sure Francie saw them. Anyway...the "prise" was a votive candle holder and three candles from the kids and a picture/card of Cambrie. It is so cute! She is in a heart...don't even know how to describe it...may post it tomorrow. On good reads I am under my name but maybe try GivingThanks04 too. I've not been there in a few days and need to. The movie was good...just like the book for once. It was a little slow, or to me at times but I liked it. There were funny parts but it was sad to me because I know how it ended. :( was your trip to see your momma? Did you like the ride in the van? Like the tats!

HIYA SUE, FRANCIE, and KATY! Hoping all is well with you ladies.

Feeling a little better. But this cold is definitely hanging on. Just found out that Cambrie has pneumonia and strep throat...gotta find out more about that because we were around her. Seems like we all got sick after the trip to Chuck E. Cheese.

Exercise is going well, well, I haven't done any today but plan on getting somethind done as soon as I get off here. I was a little disappointed with my WI on Saturday...was hoping for at least two pounds. But I will take the pound I lost. 1/2 way to my third 10 pound goal, woohoo! Can't believe it...still don't feel any different, lol. But, had errands to run this morning and overslept otherwise I would have done 1/2 my exercise before I left...really need to quit staying up so late.

Take care ladies, and have a wonderful day!

We cleaned the bedroom on sunday, and now I'm doing the laundry. Even though, I just wanna be laying in bed and not moving. I think I pulled a muscle cleaning, lol. Dh's is gonna be 24 on thursday!!! So thats about all.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!

02-11-2008, 09:27 PM
Francie--Happy bday to hubby--my son will be 23 in April and daughter a big 21 in June.

Cristina--sounds like you are having fun with those little ones and they seem to be falling in love with you!! I will look for you on good reads. I got some books at the library but with the baby here am just starting to read the first. I did look at a cookbook--Ultimate Soup. I have been looking for a Chicken Tortilla soup recipie. If you are still feelin gsluggish I think you should go and get a strep test done. I told the girls at work that they should get checked out. Two of them have got the same thing again. I reminded them that I needed an antibiotic to get rid of it and am hoping it will keep me from getting it back again. Dominic is such a cutie if I do say so myself!! Post your tats again so I can see!! You are doing so awesome with the exercise and weightloss!!

SuzyQ--on no that means tom will be coming my way to-I think we all complain about it at the same time!! Our friends boy Jeremiah had to have a little bit of the "piece" that connects his tongue and the bottom of his mouth cause he wasn't talking and when he did had some trouble saying some words. He does talk--he's just a really quiet kid--his sister more than makes up for it--she talks ALL the time!!

Mindee--hubby has ALOT of tats. Teri & Ry both have some too. Teri has an eclipse one that matches her Dad's in the very same spot on her upper arm and Ry & Jerry have the same "canadian green maple leaf" design on their chests.

Sassy-it can be done--just make sure you don't hurt yourseldf or get frustrated. I need to get motivated myself. I am not losing but not gaining either. Teri wants to start walking and she is going to spend weekends here with us for awhile so we will be hitting the steep driveway!!

Katy & Sue--hi to both of you!!

Teri went back to work today. She will officially be the head stock room supervisor and was told that she should get $12.50 an hour. She was reallly tired today and hated leaving Dominic. They are real good about letting her pump since she wants to keep him on breast milk as long as she can. Great grandme had fun with the little man today. Between her, me & Becky he should be covered and not have to go to a daycare yet. It looks like Dave could get a year for the DUI/drinking violation of probation. The court date is the 25th. I have mixed feelings. He can't keep a job and the drinking is a big problem along with his control issue but he does help her out with the baby and for some reason she is in love with the boy. Ry got called in to work for a catered birthday party--he said he should get really good tips.

02-11-2008, 10:26 PM
Jules~I'm on goodreads too!! I'm reading My Sister's Keeper right now Its bringing up a ton of emotions for me. But its a very good book!!

02-11-2008, 11:20 PM
Hi Ladies.

Well the Winter Storm is on her way!!! I hope I don't get stuck here!!! (work) DH said he'd come and pick me up (he drove me in) They are putting people up in hotels, but I cannot sleep in strange beds and with me working 13/14 hour shifts, sleep is a necessaity!!! But if I have too, I guess I have too. :p

News on our Boss and his car: He SAYS that it was the other person's fault. I don't buy it though. Where the accident occured, he had to stop, there is a stop sign there and the cross traffic does not have to stop. So I don't see how it was her fault. Plus he said it was on his front left side, so there is no way that could have happened from the other direction, she had to be coming down the st. that does not have to stop. So I say it had to be his fault and he just doesn't want to "fess up" to it. He says that he has major damage and his car is like his "baby", its a BMW, so its going to be very pricey to get fixed. So we'll have to see.......Of course he asked me about my FMLA papers, told him, the dr. still has the papers, he has been very busy with this major flu outbreak or whatever it is.

Mindee -- Definitely!! lol

Susan -- Yup you got the math right, I figured that myself. lol. I know it would difficult and all, but I just really really want to lose it by then. I guess what I can do is set my goal for 50 and if I happen to lose more (which I hope!!!) then that will just be a +. ;) You know what makes me sick though? How easy a lot of men have with losing weight. There was this guy on a food tv show, about this Salad place, he said since he began eating lunch there, he has lost 25 lbs in 25 days!!! I am like holy moly!! It would take me an eternity to lose that much!!! lol.

Cristina -- I am thinking about doing a combo of WW and Calorie Counting? But with WW's you really don't have to count calories, right? That point system thing gets me confused. lol. When I did well, I wrote every single thing I ate and drank down, so I need to start that again for sure. Your doing great with your weightloss. A true inspiration. :)

Hi Francie!!!

Jules -- TY. I want to at least try to lose as much as possible, even if its not quite 100 lbs, anything is better than nothing at all. When we lived in Upstate NY, we lived across the st from a trail that had an extremely steep hill. It took me forever before I was able to get to the top of it without stopping several times. Eventually I was able to go all the way through and what an amazing feeling that was. :carrot: I miss that place, we lived next door to a cemetary and it was the best place to go walking!!! I would walk 2 x's a day!!! :congrat: to both Teri and Ry. Maybe the time in jail will make Dave "wake-up". Glad he helps her out with the baby.;)

Big

02-12-2008, 01:57 AM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new here....haven't heard anything yet from the hopefully soon!

SuzieQ~ That sounds just like Brandon! He will say some words, but he becomes shy in front of people. He does the same thing.....he will try and tell me what he wants, but if he gets mad then he starts to point OR he will run away and get mad. He does point for some things. My mom told me that when I was younger....being the baby of five, I didn't have to talk, I had four older sisters and my parents. All I had to do was point and they would get me what I wanted. I will have to ask my mom if I was a late talker, and how old I was when I started talking.

Cristina~ Our trip was a lot of fun! The van was doing a lot of sputtering/missing. But Tommy was thinking that it was because the previous owner didn't do the upkeep on it. (it is running smoothly driving it up there cleaned out the carbon in it) we ended up going into town with my dad. (and by we, I mean me, Tommy and Marissa....the boys stayed and played with one of my brothers) The only thing about going up there though.....we generally have to "retrain" the boys after being around the younger brother that they were playing with. Brandon has had a major issue with not wanting to listen and he wants to do what he wants to do.....oh and he gets really pushy. So, we are working on that again. Logan seems to have chilled out and gone back to himself. Although......we bought them bigger pillows for their beds (which Logan requested) and he still prefers this little pillow that my MIL made him for Christmas. I can put him to bed with the big pillow under his head and if I check on him before I got to bed, the big pillow is on the floor and he is either using the smaller pillow or he isn't using a pillow at all.

Francie~ It is good to hear from you!

Jules~ Brandon kept trying to go back and watch Tommy getting his tattoo done, but the places policy allows no children. So, he was getting mad that he couldn't watch.....BUT Tommy did ask him if when he got bigger if he was going to get a tattoo and he said yes. Tommy told him that if when he got bigger, that he still wanted one, then Tommy would take him to get it done. Dave goes to court the same day that we go to court for the ticket on the accident. You know, from the sounds of it, it sounds like this is just what Dave needs to whip his butt into shape. It will help to sober him up while he is in maybe he will realize how much he really doesn't need to be drinking.

Sassy~ That sounds like the lady that hit us! hmmmmm.....I wonder if they are related!

02-12-2008, 02:17 PM
Hello ladies...

JULES...I am thinking about going to the doc, me and daughter. Cambrie, the little girl went to the emergency room and had pneumonia and strep so wondering if that is what we and daughter have as well. All I want to do is sleep! And yes, Dominico is are a lucky grandma! I was just at myspace and will go back and post the tats, and leave them this time, lol. Good news for Teri...but sorry to hear about Dave, that sux. Hugs to Teri, I can only imagine how she is feeling.

SASSY...thanks missy! You don't count calories with WW and you know, once you get the foods that you eat on a regular basis, the points counting is not that big of a deal. You kind of memorize it all. It really is simple and it works!

MINDEE...glad you guys had a nice drive and visit at your parents.

FRANCIE...hiya stranger! A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your HUBBY Thursday! Any special plans?

SUSAN...what's up missy? I come back and you dissapear, lol!

I don't know what I do to deserve it but I have to say I have the best hubby in the world! He left my v-day gift on the counter this morning and made me cry. It wasn't the stuff in the bag except for the letter in the card. He had a guy at work put a song on a CD for me and told me to listen to the words because that is how he feels everyday, awww! Honestly, I don't deserve the man. He didn't think I knew the song because I don't listen to country music as often as I used's the song Amazed by Lonestar  I know, corny. We are going to Olive Garden for dinner...never go out on V-Day, too many people. Anyway...getting ready to get my exercise done.

Have a wonderful day ladies! Love ya's!

02-12-2008, 02:26 PM
Good Morning!!

Cristina - I missed you:bb: I know we are close in age but I feel lost without you when you don't post. :bb: You are kind of like my security blankie. lol Sorry about little Cambrie being under the weather, hope she is well soon. What was the *prise*? McD and I watched (I think) Mr Woodcock (??) w/ Billy Bob and Susan Sarandon. I love Sarandon, she is so pretty.

Francie - Looking forward to hearing more from you!! I have My Sisters Keeper on hold at the library, can't wait to read it.

Sassy - I think it is the bosses fault too!! lol I was reading an article in the Poeple mag on weight loss and how men lose it faster. I forget why though, in the hormones or some dang thing. No fair. I love your avatars!!

Mindee- Gab never got mad, she just pointed or I guessed real good at what she wanted. lol I also noticed I talked baby talk w/ her and maybe she picked that up while growing up?? Who knows. She is in speech now at school 3x a week, see if that helps.

Katy - Swim night?? I finally got Gab registered for Seals again so I am happ , I guess......I hope she gets a good teacher tonight.

Jules - Hugs to Teri, it must be hard to leave the baby for work. With TOM I get bad backaches, so any day now....grrrrrr. I want to start walking too, with the weather turning spring like it kind of motivates me......

I better run......I think I can get to 165 by Friday, close now, so fingers crossed. I also put on some jeans that were too tight at 171, today they went right on - yeah. I have a lot of smaller summer clothes, I should get them out and stare at them for motivation....haha.

02-12-2008, 02:31 PM
awww Cristina!! You posted at the same time. Very sorry about Cambrie, will say prayers for you all.
Sweet hubby, but you deserve that, you deserve the best... :) I love Olive Garden,,,,I might take the girls to Izzys for Gab's birthday this weekend, just us girls.

anyway - hugs to you!!:hug:

02-12-2008, 02:50 PM
Cristina~We're out for breakfast at midnight. It'll be the first time we get to eat breakfast together during a weekday, lol. Then this weekend, we're going to Seattle to see "Jumper" and maybe get some

Susie~I finished My Sister's Keeper last night and omg :( I cried sooooooo hard during the whole book, lol. I loved it!! I cannot wait to read more f her books. I'm reading Back in the Bedroom now.

Okay, I'm gonna go and find something for lunch...have a nice day ladies!!!

02-13-2008, 12:07 AM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end....just enjoying the snow as it falls. just not liking having to shovel it.....but hey, what can you do? I did our side walk, the side walk by where Tommy parks the van, and the side walk going to the stairs. By the time I got done with all three of them, I walked back towards the door and had to shovel the side walk leading to the door again! I am done with shoveling for now....I won't shovel again until after the guys that normally take care of it have done their job. (I never like the way they shovel it anyways)

Cristina~ Amazed is mine and Tommy's song! So, I know what you are feeling! that song actually came out around the time that me and Tommy started dating, and I knew just by listening to the song with him that it was how I felt before we even started dating!

SuzieQ~ The program that Brandon would get into is a head start program, but they would do speech with him. The lady didn't explain about how the program at the elementary school near us would do it, but she explained to us how she does it. I felt very comfortable with the way that she does things, so I am hoping that the school near us does their program the same way.

Francie~ How are you doing?

every body are you all doing?

02-13-2008, 12:36 AM
Hi Chicks.

Well I didn't get stuck at work, DH was able to make it and came and got me, it really wasn't that bad, it was slick in a few spots, but nothing like they were making it out to be!! lol. Tonight coming in it was just wet. But we are worried since its so cold (21 Degrees + Wind) that it will all freeze and we're supposed to get freezing rain + snow in the AM. So lets hope for the best!!! lol.

I've been doing ok today so far with eating. Feel so hungry though and I am eating, maybe need to eat more foods with fiber? I had broccoli w/ rice, broccoli has fiber in it right? I dunno I need to find some Calorie Free foods to munch on I suppose. lol.

Well only 8 more hours to go + 13 hours tomorrow night and then I am off.......:cheer2: lol.

Mindee -- could be. lol

Susan -- Most likely is his fault, the little weasel!! lol. Yeah men have it way too easy. No PMS, No Periods, No Pregnancy, No Childbirth, Lose Weight easy, what is up with that? lol. Thanks. I just love my Monkey Avatar. I think its so cute. lol. Now I guess I need to find a St. Patty one!!! lol. WTG girlie!! I have some pants and stuff that I can't get into right now either -- something to work towards!! ;)

Cristina -- YW. Well I guess I should look into WW's and the points. Aww that is sweet. That is a good song. Now everytime I hear it I am going to think of you guys. lol. DH said that "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts is how he feels about me. I cried  when he told me that and listened to it too. I got a Cute Stuffed Lion and that cute little puppy dog from Hallmark that they show on tv that moves and asks for a hug. We don't go out on V-day either, like you said way too crowded. We haven't went out to eat together since my bday last year!! (09/24) With us being on opposite nights and only have one night together, it makes it difficult because usually on that one night together (Thursdays) we are both beat and just wanna veg. lol.

Big  to all, hoping you all are doing well in this crazy weather!!!

02-13-2008, 02:00 AM
SUSAN...yay to the NSV! :yay: I know you can get to 165 by can do it! That movie looked funny! Not that big a fan of Billy Bob but he is funny in some movies. The 'prise' was three candles and a candle holder for it, and a picture of Cambrie...a valentine picture that she called a card. I was going to post it but forgot, maybe tomorrow if I remember. What is Izzy's?

SASSY...hey, how about some celery sticks w/peanut butter, or w/o. carrot sticks, apple slices...when I am wanting a snack lately I reach for a glass of water and a banana...seems to be my thing lately. Although, I do want those chips or something sweet once in a while. I like that song! Been meaning to get the Rascal Flatts CD...there's another song I really like but can't think of the name. I do listen to country once in a while but not oftne like I used to. That's sweet of hubby to get you a lion and a puppy! The hallmark puppy is cute!

FRANCIE...have fun in Seattle and enjoy your midnight breakfast! i was in Seattle a few years ago, I have a friend who lives there.

MINDEE...yeah, I heard the song a while back and know the words but now when I hear it it will be different. Are you tired of the snow yet? They said in the paper a couple of days ago that so far this year we have had 21 inches of snow, ugh! About 20 inches too many, lol!

Well ladies, I didn't want to stay up past midnight so I better get going. Nighty, night!

02-13-2008, 03:15 AM
just making this quick.....all three kiddos are sleeping and so is Tommy on the couch.

I need to get back on track with eating! I have been doing so great with the eating three meals and two snacks. Tuesday, I ate when I was hungry to the point of almost starving. I need to get back into eating that way again.....AND drinking more water!

Sassy~ I hope the weather holds out and is nice for you guys!

Cristina~ I know exactly what you mean! There have been songs that I hear lately, and when I actually sit there and listen to the words or look at the lyrics, they make more sense to me and I listen to them differently from then on.

02-13-2008, 06:33 AM
Hi Chicks.

Well only 1 hour and a 1/2 left!!! :woohoo: Then sleep, then back in for 13 hrs and then 4 nights off!! :cheer2: lol.

I am so achy.......ugh this stupid weather. lol.

Cristina -- Yeah I brought Pineapple, but totally forgot about it until you mentioned Bananas -- which I love!!! So I'll have to get some. :) I like Rascal Flatts too, I know another song of theirs is "Take me There". DH is so sweet to "remember" things like how I love lions and how I said that the hallmark puppy was cute. Those are the things that are romantic to me. :) I haven't gotten him anything. He said I don't have too. I said I can cook something special or something like that.

Mindee -- Well it is supposed at least quit snowing and the freezing rain for a couple days. Chance of snow on Friday, but that is it. I think I'm ready for Spring!!! lol.

02-13-2008, 03:07 PM
A fast post since I am way behind today!

Good morning to everyone. Digging in my closest this morning and found some more *skinny* jeans and they fit! Pretty sure I can get to 165 by Friday, .2 away from that now.

anyway - have to brag somewhere...haha. Better get, bbl!! :)

02-13-2008, 03:11 PM
hello are you all doing?

Well, we are FINALLY getting some where! I got a call a little bit ago from the lady that will be Brandon’s speech therapist. She called and told me what school he will be going to, that a bus can come to the house to pick him up, and that we needed to set up a date and time for an IEP. So, we go next Friday, the 22nd at 11:30am for it! I mentioned about getting his hearing tested, and she told me that she can do a limited hearing test on him and if it looks like he needs a more in depth one, then she can give us the information on getting one done. She also told me that she wants to do her own speech evaluation on him since she didn’t do his original one. (She told me that the speech therapist that did his evaluation was really vague on some details. So she was asking me some questions over the phone) She isn’t sure if he will go in the morning or the afternoon. She got one thing that stated he would be in the morning, and then got another thing that stated he would be in the afternoon. She told me that she will find out for sure and will let us know next Friday!

I am really excited because FINALLY we will be getting some where with his talking. But I am also nervous because he is my first one going off to school! I thought I would be extremely freaked out when the time came, but I have to say that I am really at peace with this because I know it will be helping him out A LOT!

I am thinking spring right along with you Sassy!

SuzieQ~ YAY on the skinny clothes!!!! I can't wait to get there.....some day I will get there

02-13-2008, 05:01 PM
WOOHOO Susan! to the skinny jeans! :bravo: You can do it!

Sassy...yummy to pineapple! I know hubby puts more thought into my gifts than I do his...sounds bad I know. I just never know what to get him and V-Day to me is just a silly day but he always seems to go overboard for some reason.

Mindee...Glad you are getting somewhere with the talking finally! It is very frustrating to say the least, especially when so many differnet people get involved. Hoping this lady will be the one to help Brandon. Can't believe he will be starting school already! Where has the time gone?!

Hey to everyone else...

Got on the computer a little later than usual. Ran to the store to get a couple of things and got gas while I was out. I have got to get back on track with my sleep. Been staying up late and sleeping in which I don't really like. Seems like the day is over before you know it and I've got nothing done! Did get in half my exercise for the day and will do the other half after Jeopardy, lol. Getting some laundry done as well. That's about it...

Have a wonderful beautiful ladies!

I am back!!

I weighed and am almost 164! I did.

This is what happened by Susan:

I had a *bathroom moment* and weighed after that because,....hmm, it was a pretty big bathroom moment. I know , you are all thinking - "we knew you were full of it Susan".....and omg- I was!!!! So thrilled.

I am close to 164 now and think I can make that by Friday, maybe. Depends on how much more crap is in me. lol - sorry.......I find that really funny for some odd reason. I am sooooo happy!!!

I think I will dig out all the clothes and start putting the *skinny clothes* on hangers and tucking the heavy clothes away tonight, that might be fun. I have some cute summer things, I can't wait to actually wear them again, has been at least 2 years!!

Cristina - I hope you get back on a sleep pattern! I drag so much when I toss and turn. Cute about the candles and candle holders, that was sweet of Cambrie. Izzys is pizza and has a buffet with pasta's & salads, very good, haven't been there in years.

Mindee- Crossing fingers for Brandon!! Also, for you and getting back on the eating right track, you can do it!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Sassy - How is the weather there today?? Suppose to be 60ish by Sunday here, can't wait, we can all defrost. lol I don't know anything about fiber, how is your water intake?? That might helps with the hunger feelings :)

Francie - I am number 17 for My Sisters Keeper at the library,so I have a few more weeks.

Katy - It was great to see you and L last night at swimming! I like Gab's new teacher.

Hi to Sue, Jules and Michelle!!

I have to run and get Gab from aftercare. I wanted to take her and buy a dress for Friday when she celebrates her 6th at school..her birthday isn't til Saturday though. I will have her until 4ish when her father picks her up for overnight. She really needs new clothes, growing like a weed!!

k- better run.........

Hiya chickies!

Today just zoomed by...took J to a tour of the neighborhood middle school and was quite impressed. We had been considering a transfer, not because the school is bad, but the other area middle school is bigger and thought to have more to offer in terms of fine arts. Turns out our school has some great programs and I came away feeling he would really like it there - and it's half the size of the other school. I should pick your brain, Susan, 'cause I know both your girls have gone there. I really like the new principal - D knows him from his job...I think he has brought a new energy to the school. Other than the tour, I got a 45 minute walk in and managed to miss the raindrops..been raining off and on today and I just grabbed my umbrella and took my chances.

Susan- congrats on your are doing a great job and those skinny clothes are going to feel so good. Did you decide where to get the cupcakes..mmm...a cupcake sounds really good right now. I'm craving sugar - I don't know why...

Mindee - that's great news about'll get used to him going to school in no time :) My DD had some speech therapy from age 3-4 and she loved it - it was like a big playdate for her and it did help her socially.

Cristina- I'm a dork and missed this - but what is Good Reads? I hear you about the sleep. I have been battling insomnia and just erratic sleep in general and it's not fun. This is why I see a naturopath. She has me on a sleepblend that has valerian and melatonin in it that does help. However, she started me on some progesterone for the few days right before my period starts and that helps immensely....guess my sleeping issues are hormone related.

Sassy - yay for 4 nights off! How's your back doing? and your crazy weather?

Francie - hey - have fun in Seattle. My kids love trips to Seattle. We have relatives in Everett, Snohomish, and Mercer we visit them and take the kids to the zoo. One time we took them on the monorail to Pike's Place which was a lot of fun. Haven't taken them up the needle yet, but there's always been a long line.

Jules- I checked out your tats on MySpace - very pretty. I'm too chicken to get tattoos...then again I have hard time with making lifetime commitments, so a tattoo would probably be a bad idea for me. I also enjoyed the pics of Dominic who has to be, hands-down, the cutest baby I've seen, well, since my kids were babies, lol!

Sue - How are you doing? Are you getting much biking in? Hope your mother is doing better...

Well, might scale might be down a little tomorrow. I was at my ticker weight today - yay. I never bothered changing when I went up a few...I just figured it would come off and it did. Now I need to work on doing something so I can actually change my ticker!

02-14-2008, 03:07 AM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new.....just getting through my email and then off to bed! I did get my hair cut on Wednesday.....check out my avatar and tell me what you think! the lady that cut my hair gave me a free wash/scalp massage since we had all three kids with us. Brandon and Logan got a hair cut each as well! they look so much like boys now instead of shaggy dogs!

speaking of Brandon's last speech evaluation, we received the report that the lady from last Friday made. she has his speech age as being 1 year and 8 months! I saw that and really got down....but then I realized that this is why we are doing this! she based her report off how he acted in front of her. she didn't get him to warm up to her at all. as soon as we got into her office, she immediately jumped in on doing the test, and not gradually working into it like the lady did when he got one done at 18 months old. I am hoping that his new speech therapist will be more laid back about it, and I will mention that at his IEP.

Cristina~ Like I mentioned, I have been dreading this day since he was born! But like I also mentioned before, it is for his own good and it will help him and not harm him! So, I am very reassured by all this! His speech therapist seems really nice and she really wants to help him! I didn't get that feeling from the lady last week, and maybe that was due to her just doing the process and NOT actually being the one that we will deal with! Tommy asked Brandon if he was going to go to school and ride on a school bus, and Brandon said (very excitedly) YAY! and put his arms up in the air!

SuzieQ~ Congratulations on getting so much closer to 164! I can't wait to be able to put some smaller things in my side of the closet! and maybe my side of the closet won't look like it is for two people!

Katy~ I know it will take some getting used to.....but we will make it! Tommy mentioned to me that on Brandon's first day I will probably have to go with him so that he doesn't freak out. Not sure how we are going to manage this one since I will have Marissa and Logan here at home! I just hope we can get through this without too many tears on any body's parts!

:val1::val3::val2:Happy Valentines Day!!:val3::val1::val2:

Good Morning -

Katy - See, I so don't crave sweets. I love carbs though, bagels -yum. As far as the cupcakes I think I will go w/ Albertsons. I looked yesterday and the frosting seemed reasonable, unlike Freddies which was 6 inches of frosting on a 2 inch cupcake. haha. Also this is whipped so it won't be too heavy.
I would go with RG for middle schools, smaller and more personal. I liked the VP there, very intense. I think the new principal came after I left but he looked good, I think him and the VP have worked together before. Anyway, I liked it also because it was closer to where the girls lived and gave more of a community feel to it. It just keeps the kids sheltered a little longer and not thrown into a huge school where they might get lost in the shuffle. IMHO.
Great on the weight!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Mindee- Cheer up about Brandon, I am sure in the end it will all be fine and he will be talking up a storm! I like the hair do!!

I did take all my oversize winter sweaters off the hangers and brought out all my blouses and hanged them up. Just to see what I have and to motivate me. I don't think I can even wear most of them until I get closer to 150 but they are there to see....and keep me moving down on the scale. My *skinny* jeans are 8's and I haven't worn them for a long time, so I am happy.
I weighed and hit 164 this morning but I always weigh 3x and it shifted so maybe tomorrow it will be stable. Close though, yeah!

Better get my tush in gear!! Swim night and I sooooo do not want to be sitting w/ Gaby's dad at pool side, especially on valentines day. Ick, ewww,
k- adios!!!

02-14-2008, 03:24 PM
Happy Valentine's Day, beautiful ladies!

SUSAN...woohoo! Good job on the weight loss! :carrot: Stay away from the crap and you will be at 164 easy!, middle school already?! Doesn't seem possible...the kids were just little guys yesterday! Goodreads is a book site...something you might like. You can add all your books you've read, going to read and so forth. Join groups to discuss books you've read, or movies you've seen...pretty cool site.

MINDEE...Brandon will be fine. I think the first one to go is always the hardest. I know when Jason went, of course he went to preschool for almost three years first but I expected him to cry or say I don't want to go. I was the one who cried, lol. He didn't even look back at me, lol.

SASSY...woohoo, four days off! Any special plans or just hanging around the house?

FRANCIE...a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your hubby today! What a special day for a birthday. :bday2::celebrate::bday2you::celebrate::bday2: are you doing lady? Hoping all is well with you and your momma.

JULES...hoping all is well with you too! Give that beautiful grandbaby lots of hugs and kisses from me!

Nothing much going on today...did 65 minutes of exercise this morning before heading out to run errands. The rest of the day is free, yay! Will get the rest of my exercise done earlier than after Jeopardy today and hopefully get in some reading. Finally finished the last book and moving on to #4 for the month. Definitely making my reading goal of 3-4 books a month, plus more. The same with exercise....I keep saying I will slow down but don't see it happening.

Tata for now, hope everyone is having a wonderful V-Day!

02-15-2008, 03:19 AM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new here.....just the same stuff different day! Tommy got me a bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day. He got the kids messy cookies and some reese peanut butter cup miniatures. My bouquet had four roses in it, with some white daisies and some pink lilies. He told me that he picked that certain bouquet because it had the four roses in it. He then said that there was a rose for Brandon, Logan, Marissa and him.

SuzieQ~ My mom has already warned me now that he is going to be getting the speech therapy for him, that it is the end of him being quiet. In the future, we are going to have to tell him to be quiet all the time! I have been talking with him each day about going to school, and riding the school bus. I find that it helps to get him prepared for things so that they don't seem like a shock when they do happen. I have used this before when we have had a baby sitter come over so that me and Tommy could go out. Or if we took them somewhere new. Just out of curiosity.....why three times when you weigh in? do you then take the middle number of the three for your weigh in?

Cristina~ I love your new avatar! I keep trying to figure out what is jumping, but I am guessing that it is a person! I am hoping that Brandon will react the same way that your Jason did. It will make it so much easier on me! Tommy told me last night that he is hoping that he will be home for Brandon's first day of school, so that way if they need some one to go with him he will have someone with him.

02-15-2008, 01:08 PM
Hi ladies...Brrrr, we are still cold here. Some snowcover on the ground also. Hate it when it starts to look dirty and slushy.

DH and I went to the riverboat for the day yesterday. Our Vday get away. It was nice and relaxing. Of course, we gambled. No big jackpot though.

Today I am doing laundry and going to clean the kitchen in a minute. DH is walking, but at 30 degrees and windy I said "no way." Gosh, I can find more excuses. Got out my WATP to do this afternoon though.

Life here is not exciting, rather boring actually, but I will take that. Excitement is highly over-rated, especially when you get old and most excitement means a trip to the hospital. Lol

Mom's new meds. are agreeing with her so far. *fingers crossed* She is feeling pretty good. I just had to call my doc. about another mole I spotted. Yikes, I imagine I will be cut on again on Tues. when he can see me.

Okay ladies...carry on. I will try to be back more often.

02-15-2008, 01:28 PM
Just a quickie from me for now...getting ready to meet DIL to be at a wedding store to browse...she was going to look at wedding dresses but wants to lose a little more first. Guess she is going to see what they have for her daughter and son and I don't know who else or what else. Be back to chat later.

Have a good day chickies!

02-15-2008, 01:58 PM
Good Morning -

Mindee- 3x because I have a WW scale, digital thingie. I do it til the same number comes up twice. The first time and the second time are never the same, the second and third time are and if I get on there 5 times in a row with the same number I now I am good to go. Don't worry, I know I am anal. lol I don't even know if that makes sense, it does to me. haha

Hit 164 this morning! Didn't even see 165 at all, pleased with that. I figure I have lost 7 pounds in 8 weeks, I was 171 when I went on my first date with McD. ........who sent some beautiful sunflowers (my favorite) flowers and a sweet card, no chocolate, thank goodness.....(ok, I am lying,,,,I will have to buy my own chocolate, I did tell him no chocolate, can't believe he listened to me - grrrrr)

I celebrated by eating a toasted onion bagel w/ turkey and mustard. I haven't had a bagel in a month, just craving it this morning, so I grabbed one with my coffee.

Sue - to you, nice to see you posting!

Cristina - DIL is daughter in law? Is that Char w/ her kids? Confused. *sigh. Awesome on the exercise!

I spent most of my day looking for cupcakes yesterday. I went to Zupans, Market of Choice, New Seasons, Albertsons and Safeway. I ended up w/ Albertsons , my choice anyway - just wanted to see what was out there. Zupans had some deco cakes 9 for $27.00..... NSeasons had 4 for 5.99. I bought 20 for 11.99 at Albertsons, even though I needed only 13. It was the best buy though and Gab was happy.

I think I will do her cake /ice cream on Sunday night. I was going to do it tonight but she will already have had the cupcake and tomorrow I only have her 1/2 the day. I also was going to take her to the zoo on Monday as one of her presents, she loves the zoo and hopefuly it will be 60ish outside.

anyway - better get busy for the day!! chat later......

02-15-2008, 06:23 PM
Back Again!!

I went to the store and picked up some yummy gala apples and some more slim fast - basically feeling up on fruit & veggies today after the bagel/turkey this morning.

Going to pick up my Gaby and spend the evening w/ her. I think now I will do a cake for her on Monday, since no school and a trip to the zoo. Tomorrow we are shopping for clothes in the morning and a lunch w/ her father and he takes her from there until Sunday.
Only other plans is a walk (yes,I said walk *gasp*) cleaning, and some McDreamy time Saturday night. I really would like to get back to church now that my skirts fit again - maybe I can do that Sunday morning. ]

ok, that is my update, what about yours?? Any special plans for the 3 day weekend???

02-16-2008, 01:12 AM
Hello ladies...

SUSAN...yes, DIL is daughter-in-law-to-be, Char and the kids. She ended up trying some dresses on and found one...really pretty. Makes me glad that I am already married though...wouldn't want to be going thru planning a wedding at all. She is not a bridezilla but apparently her mother is the mother from ****! She criticizes every thing she does. Of course I think it is worse because her husband, Char's step-father just asked for a divorce-so not a good time for her. Yummy cupcakes! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our little Miss Gaby! :celebrate: :bday2: :bday2you: :bday2: :celebrate: And...yay to getting to 164! :yay: :yay: I was reading your post and thought, OMG! I am not the only one, lol. I too get on the scales 3x, sometimes four

SUE...glad to hear your mom is doing well. And that you guys had a nice time on the riverboat.

MINDEE...that was sweet of Tommy. V did something similar with the roses but got three, one for our past, present and future...ummm, I think he saw the jewelry ads, lol! Glad you had a nice V-Day. Oh, the avatar is an elephant jumping on the trampoline, doesn't mean anything, I just thought it was cute. But I am changing it...almost the same thing, just say ssomething.

I am pretty much pooped! Was up early this morning and yesterday morning. Trying to get on a new schedule, or rather my old one where I was up at the crack of body doesn't want to cooperate, lol. Nothing special going on tomorrow...supposed to get some more nasty weather starting tonight, ice, rain and snow thru the very tired of this crappy stuff. Makes me not want to do anything. So...I will be staying in where it's warm, sleeping in for sure, exercising and getting lots of reading done.

Have a great weekend ladies!

02-16-2008, 04:18 AM
hello are you all doing?

We went out Friday night with the intent on buying a new bedding set since Brandon “painted” our old set with Desitin that morning! I tried to clean it up the best I could…..but no matter how good of a job I did, it still smelt like the stuff! Tommy then wanted to check out K-Mart to see if they had any back packs. So, he took Brandon into the store with him, while I sat in the van with Logan and Marissa.

They were taking a while so I thought that they were looking really hard to find some. Next thing I look at the front door, and here they come walking out the door. I didn’t see a bag, so I thought that we were going to have to check out the Meijers to see if they had any. Then I noticed that Brandon had something on his back!

You guessed it! They found one and he loved it so much that he had to wear it out of the store! Tommy gets to the van and says “you won’t believe how much I paid for that back pack! But first you have to look at the price tag.” So I do, and it says that it is $19.99. He then says “how much do you think I paid for it?” I said “I don’t know…..$5.” He shakes his head and gives me the thumbs down motion and says “try lower.” I said “I don’t know…..$2.” He starts laughing and says “I paid $2.11 for that back pack!” What took so long was the cashier having to ring it up three times to make sure that it was ringing up right…..AND then calling for a price check to make sure that it was right!

He loves it, and of course when we got back to the house, Logan and Brandon started fighting over it! So, Tommy took the tags off of it and put it in the top of their closet until he needs it for school. It is really cute! It comes with a sandwich container and an ice pack! So, this really solidifies it……my big boy is going to school!

Tommy called his mom to tell her and she thought that he paid $4. I called my mom to tell her and she thought that since I said that Brandon had it on his back, that he got it for free. (not really…..but close!) She thought that because I told her that he had it on his back, that he just walked out of the store without paying for it. I had to laugh…..but my mom said that she wanted Tommy to do all of her bargain shopping from now on!

Sue~ That sounds like a nice little get-away for you guys! I will send some prayers up that your mom’s meds continue to agree with her….and also for your mole.

Cristina~ How did the dress shopping go with your DIL to be? Now that you point it out, I can tell it is an elephant. I think V saw the jewelry ads too! Tommy told me that if we get that check in May or whenever to jump start the economy, then I can pick out a new band. I have told him that I want to get an anniversary band. (the rings with the diamonds all around them) When we got married, we got my engagement ring from J.B. Robinson, but my wrap came from Meijers. (I already had my diamond…..I was happy! Don’t get me wrong, I still am happy with it…..I am just tired of having to get the wrap taken care of every year because the stones keep wanting to fall out or get caught on everything)

Susie Q~ Yup that does makes sense to me! I usually do it twice to make sure that the same number shows up. That is great on your weight loss so far! That was very nice of McD to send you flowers and a card! Don’t you hate it when they actually listen to you? I had a feeling that Tommy was going to get me flowers….I just didn’t know what kind.

02-16-2008, 05:53 PM
Hello ladies...

Taking a break from the reading! Only to come here and read, lol! Makes perfect sense eh? Anywho...nothing really going on. Very boring, blah Saturday for sure.

Mindee...I like those diamond anniversary bands that go all around, they are so pretty. WTG on finding the backpack so cheap! That is definitely a good deal for sure!

Guess I'll get back to my reading...have a load of laundry to do also. V is working today, as he does just about every Sat & Sun so...hope everyone is enjoying your weekend!

02-16-2008, 06:14 PM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....dealing with a couple of monster boys. we are planning on going to one of my sister's houses for a little "party" for her husband who is going back to a local plant to work he wants to have a little get together to celebrate it.

Cristina~ I have seen them ever since they came out and I have been keeping an eye on them!

02-16-2008, 07:29 PM
Mindee- I like those bands, too. I have two wedding bands, and an anniversary band would look great between the two. I tell DH - well, maybe for the 20th. I don't wear stones, and I think I would worry about them too much if I started.

Cristina - TY for the description of Good Reads - I probably would like it, given how much I like to read.

Susan- Happy Birthday to Gaby!! Hope she is having the best birthday ever....Have fun with McD tonight :)

Hi Sue, Jules, Francie...VD was great around here. DH gave me a sock knitting book I wanted. I had already knit him some socks and gave them to him early, since they were done early. I think he's wanting me to knit him some some more, lol! I'm not big on lots of fuss and treats on VD, so we had MIL over for some Baker & Spice cupcakes and we called it good. The kids had fun with their school parties.

Nothing much going on here today. I am very tired for some reason. I did go to the gym and did yoga and aerobics back to back. It helped my back feel better, but I am still tired. So I am taking it easy and figure I'll catch up on house stuff on Monday. I finished knitting a sweater for James while burning through all the podcasts on my big accomplishment for the day. Tomorrow the kids are going over to a friend's house and DH and I have a date! Yippee! We are going to see Juno and then go to Newport Seafood Grill.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

02-16-2008, 08:02 PM
Just a quickie!! Hi to Katy, Mindee and Cristina!
And all the MIA's Sassy, Sue, Jules, Michelle, and Francie!!
I need to get ready for my date (yay , Katy on yours date night to ;) ) Gab is w/ her father, we had lunch together, I had a pesto chicken melt, it was yummy. I really need to watch it though for the rest of the weekend. I am just tired, I painted my nails black and put a white/ yellow stripe hoodie on for the day. I think I will drink a glass of wine and be ok with wearing that tonight. lol
Getting so lazy in my limited dating days already...haha
k- pasting what I wrote for Gabsters teacher to read in class yesterday, thought I would be selfish and share, she is my sweetie. :bb::bb:

The ABC’s Of Gabrielle

G is for Gracious – Gaby has a spirit of generosity. She shows kindness by sharing her toys and showing concern for others.

A is for Animals – Gaby has a great love for animals and she says she wants to be a “doctor of animals” when she grows up. She never tires of watching the Animal Planet channel and the zoo is her favorite place to visit in the summertime.

B is for Bashful – Gaby can be shy with new surroundings and new friends but she is quick to warm up and likes to have fun.

R is for Rambunctious – Gaby loves to play and laugh. She is full of life and likes adventures, she is always full of energy.

I is for Independent – Gaby can entertain herself for hours with her stuffed animals. She has a strong personality and knows what she wants to do with her day. Which usually means play, play, and more play.

E is for Excellent – Gaby is a first class daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cousin. Her family loves her.

L is for Loveable – Gaby gives tight hugs, warm kisses and she always has a hand for you to hold.

L is for Laughter – Gaby has an infectious laugh and soon you are laughing right along with her.

E is for Entertaining – Gaby has a great sense of humor, likes to tell stories and has the sweetest singing voice.

Gracious, love of Animals, Bashful, Rambunctious, Independent, Excellent, Loveable, Laughter, and Entertaining all words that describe a very sweet little girl named Gabrielle.

We wish her a Happy Birthday as she turns 6 years old!!

02-17-2008, 03:25 AM
hello are you all doing?

we ended up going over to my sister Katy's house on Saturday night. we had a lot of fun! we ate some pizza, bread and salad.....and then we went downstairs and played some pool while the kids played. they all had a blast together.

Katy~ I have already lost my diamond from my engagement ring while we were shopping at the mall with a couple of my sisters about a year or two ago. So.....I think I would be a little bit more worried about the anniversary band, but I would have the reassurance that it would be under warranty if something were to happen!

SusieQ~ That is really cute what you wrote about Gabster! I am wondering about Brandon's birthday since he will more then likely be in school on his birthday. So, I was thinking last night before climbing into bed that I would probably have to send in some cupcakes or something like that. but now a days, they will more then likely be more health it will probably be something like fruit snacks or some kind of fruit!

02-17-2008, 04:26 PM
Good Morning -

It is true schools are more health conscious Mindee but I don't think Gab was going to let me get away w/ health bars. lol
I thought of bagels or buying a platter of sub sandwishes, fruit patter but it always came back to the cupcakes. I did buy 1 vegan cookie for one of the little boys.
And when her after school learned it was her birthday they gave her a cupcake (her 2nd one that day) and said I could bring cookies in Tuesday to share....*eyes roll*......yesterday her dad was going to Baskin/Robbins for an ice cream cake....and here I sit waiting for a day to celebrate w/ our cake, thinking about bagging it now, she has had enough sugar to last awhile.
Tomorrow we will go to the zoo and do a lot of walking!

I saw my McDreamy last night, he ate and I watched. I was already full from the chicken mushroom melt earlier in the day. I did have a brownie that his son made, it was good w/ marshmellow & peanuts on top, to die for!!! I only had a small square.

So, time to get back on track for the week ahead!!

Hope ya'll enjoy your Sunday!!

02-17-2008, 09:55 PM
Hi Chicks.

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. Forgive me that I don't do Indiv. but I just found out that my Uncle had a heart attack. He is home now, he was in a hospital not too far from here, only I just found out today, and so did my mother. 30% of his heart was damaged, they put in a temporary pace maker just to get his heart going right and then they took it out.

So needless to say this scared the $#@! out of me. This makes #4 in my family who has had a heart attack, and one has died from it. One was my cousin who is younger than me and healthy (or so we thought) and he still had one too.I don't know why the others never opened up my eyes before, but that is no matter, the matter is my eyes are wide open now.

So in the morning I plan on calling my dr and having him send over scripts to the lab for DH & I to get our blood drawn to check everything. He wanted me to do that last time I was there for my back and I never did. Now I am going to just tell my dr, you tell me exactly what to do and I will do it. No questions, no complaining, no whining, I am doing it.

Lots of fruits and veggies, even if I have to hold my nose to eat them, I will. lol. Whatever it takes. Infact here in few min. I am going to do some exercises, even if its just 10 min. a day, its a beginning and I will do them every day regardless. No excuses!!!

Sad that it takes something like this to open my eyes. But I guess sometimes it takes something serious to make you "wake up" and realize you are not invincible.

I also told DH whatever it takes for me to lower my stress, if it means getting another job, I will do it, its for my health and stress doesn't help. Either that or find ways of dealing with the stress a lot better. Yoga or something.

I also told my mother, whatever it takes, I want her here with us. I told DH I don't want her alone. So she is going to look into what it will take to get her out of that contract from work. I said whatever it takes.

Anyways I am sorry to go on and on about my family and all that, but it has scared me.

Thank you all for listening.

just popping in here quickly.....I have been kept busy with other things that I haven't really been online that much this past weekend! I am sure that I will be able to get online on Monday since Tommy is going to be busy all day pretty much.

we went over to my sister's house on Saturday night and had some fun! we had pizza for dinner, and then went into her basement and played some pool. It was a nice night to be had by all! we talked some about my dad's party but mostly it was about what was going on with us. I did find out though that she has the Carmen Electra Strip to Fit workout dvd's and that she likes them. SO, I am thinking about bagging the TurboJam and just getting those ones instead! I have been wanting to get them since I first saw them, but I was wayyyyyy to self conscious to even attempt to try them out then!

Popping in to say "hi." It is still cold and snowy here in the mid-west. Yuck. Actually, yesterday warmed up and then today this. Just spitting snow, but freezing out there.
I went through the kitchen and put all the "no-no" stuff away....DH has chocolate, so I put that in a baggy and gave it to him. :) I just have no will power if the goodies are sitting out. If it is in the cabinet or drawer I can resist. (mostly) Sooo, I am trying this AGAIN. We walked yesterday and I am hoping to WATP today. Gotta iron first however.

Sassy- I hope your uncle recovers from his heart attack. It does give one a wake-up call though. My family is fraught with heart trouble and blocked arteries. Reading your post brought it all back to my attention. I am wishing you luck with your journey and hopefully the Dr. will give you good advice. You can do it and we are here to help! If anyone ever needed help it is I will be shouting out at you for myself. (the pep talk I give others rings in my ears and gives me hope) Make sense?

Mindee- Sounds like a good time at your sister's. The grandkids miss our pool table. We didn't bring it here since we down sized. I have never seen the stripper workout, but doubt I could get this body going around a pole...hahaha.

Susan- Loved the poem to Gabby. Wow, she is growing up quickly. Hope you are enjoying the zoo and all that walking. You are doing great with the passed me on the way down. I went back UP. Egads!

RK- Loved the socks you did for your DH. They looked so warm. And the scarf from the yarn you got for Christmas.... What a clever son to buy just what you love.

Cristina- You are certainly reading a lot. I love to read, but just haven't gotten into another book this week. I have a Nora Roberts book to start. I used to write down the books I read, but haven't lately.

Francie- Hope you had a good time in Seattle.

Okay ladies...need to go iron. BB soon...

02-18-2008, 01:52 PM
hello are you all doing

nothing new on this end, just enjoying some yummy macaroni and cheese that Tommy made. I had to deal with some "issues" for my dad's birthday party. my mom had told me aunt that we were doing it on the weekend of the 16th instead of the weekend of the 2nd.

Sue~ Thankfully with Carmen Electra's workouts, you don't have to get up on a pole. Thank goodness!

SusieQ~ How is the zoo? I agree with Sue, you are doing great with your losing weight! I need some of that to rub off on me!

02-18-2008, 04:53 PM
Just a quick hello ladies...

Been on the computer too long and I have things to do! Will spend more time here tomorrow.

Have a great day ladies!

02-18-2008, 07:18 PM
just a quick one from me for now.....I have to go and get dinner started for us since Tommy has a Lodge function tonight.

things had gone down hill with my dad's surprise birthday party. my third oldest sister threw a hissy fit because two of the other sisters are planning on taking our families to the Woodward dream cruise the weekend that she has available. we have already put off going to the dream cruise the past two or three years because of the same sister that threw a hissy fit. so, my sister katy, the other one that is taking her family to the dream cruise said that she would put together an impromptu party at her house before my dad and one of my younger sisters goes to Texas for my grandma's birthday party.

02-18-2008, 08:17 PM
I am taking my President's Day floating holiday tomorrow and watching that grandboy. I am so wrapped it's not funny. Hubby is too. We went to hubby's grandad's 97th bday on Saturday. It was fun seeing everyone. I can't believe I didn't take pics!! Heard some really sad news today. The grandbaby of a coworker that was born Jan 24th died this morning of sids. So sad, makes me worry about my little one. He went to the cardiologists appt last Friday--the hole is still there and they gave Teri & I some things to watch for but they are thinking like the peditrician that it will close shut on ot's own. He goes back in 3 months to keep an eye on it.

Hope everyone has a good night!!

02-18-2008, 09:04 PM
Mindee--Teri was looking at Carmen's dvd's--she has started doing her post-partum workouts.

Cristina--Hi there!!

Sue- I am like you--I can't keep goodies in the house.

Sassy--hugs to you--hope your uncle recovers..

SuzyQ--Happy Birthday to Gaby....

Katy--love Hubby's socks and your scarf!! You really are looking good!!

Francie--hey there girly!!

Goodnight Girls!!

02-18-2008, 11:02 PM
Jules- Hello lady. That is one beautiful little boy! I wasn't aware that he had a hole in his heart. Is it VSD, or did they give it a name? My DS was diagnosed with VSD as an infant and we just watched it...thought he would outgrow it as a little guy. It never bothered him at all, but he was 16 before it totally closed up. As I said...never gave him any grief. He was 6'4" in high school and probably 165 pounds. Now he is about 100 pounds more. Always very healthy.
But...I know you always keep on the look out for signs of stress. Like we moms and grandmoms do with all the little ones.

02-18-2008, 11:42 PM
hello ladies....just flying by real quickly.....nothing really new on this end. just relaxing some since Tommy will be home soon. He said that it was snowing in some areas on his way home, so I am sure that we will be getting some snow coming our way!

Jules~ It is good to hear from you! I can't believe that Dominic is getting close to being six weeks old! Teri looks great already (from the pictures i have seen on your myspace page), I don't think she needs the work out tapes! She looks amazing for just having a little one! I will send some prayers up for little Dominic that every thing closes like it should.

Sue~ It is good to hear from you! How is your mom doing? Are her meds still working?

02-19-2008, 02:55 PM
Morning chickies....Sunny today, but still cold. I have put on a pot of ham and beans since DH loves them. I love the smell. :)
We just made plans to go back to the riverboat tomorrow and spend the night in the hotel. Mom is feeling so much better and wanted to go. We decided it would be far better to have a room so she can rest if needed. She hasn't been anywhere except the Dr. for so long....
Her new meds. seem to be working well. We wanted to wait until she had been on them for a week, just to be sure of no side affects before we took her out of town. So far so good.
DD in CA called and she has been offered 2 jobs..isn't that the way it goes? She has been out of work and looking avidly for 6 months. Now I hope the company she goes with doesn't fold. The last 2 jobs she had folded. (I keep teasing her about putting them under) One was a huge international law firm and it went bankrupt.
DD here has a family full of sickies...all having terrible colds or broncitis. I told her to stay away. :)
Okay, I am off to fold laundry. The never-ending laundry!

02-19-2008, 03:50 PM
Good Morning!

Sue - My ex made some lima bean soup w/ ham. I love it, I could eat that all day. I am glad your mother is feeling better!

Mindee- Your family sounds so muck like mine - lol. What is a dream crusie?

Sassy - I am so sorry about your uncle!! I will keep him in my prayers. My step dad is ill and his doctor wants him in for surgery on his heart but he refuses. So, I guess he is home exhausted not able to do much and my mom is just supporting him in whatever decision he makes. I would be crushed if anything happened to him, he is such a sweet man. Good for you on your healthy decisions for eating and checking in w/ your doctor!

Jules - Sad about your co workers grandchild. I can't believe the Dominic is already 5 weeks !! wow....where does the time go??

Cristina - How are you?? I meant to say that it was nice of you to go with Char wedding shopping.

Katy - Swim night ???

Hi to Francie and Michelle!! I hope I touched on everyone.

I am down to I changed the ticker makes me happy to do that...and ya, I could also go out and get a life - lol

The zoo was great, just to walk around and be out in the warm me hope that winter will end someday!!!

Better run, will try to catch up more tomorrow!!

02-19-2008, 05:40 PM
Hi all!

be careful what you wish for... a few weeks ago I lined up some freelance writing work, writing children's literature reviews, and I also put out feelers to do some test knitting for a yarn company. I didn't know when or if either would pan out, and as of today I have a book to review and yarn on the way for a project! Now I'm gonna be busy! It will be a good kind of busy. I pursued those opportunities because it would mean getting paid for something I love to do already - read and knit!

My sleeping issues have improved to the point the naturopath said I did not need to schedule a return visit! Yay- I graduated:) I promptly celebrated by drinking a cup of coffee and eating some cheese :dizzy: I'll be good from now on ;)

Susan- maybe I'll see you at swimming tonight - let's hope M doesn't bring any more cards - ugh - oh - thank you for your RG feedback - I'm pretty sure J will go there; I was pretty impressed by the school, and going with the neighborhood school will be more convenient than the alternatives.

Sue - have fun on the riverboat - that sounds like fun and I'm so glad your mother will be able to enjoy it

Jules- Thanks again for your comment on my blog - that's so sweet! So sad about your coworker's grandbaby - every parent's nightmare, isn't it. Sounds like you are all on top of everything with Dominic

Mindee- I'm sure your dad is going to love his party - whenever it happens.. too bad there has to be drama, but I guess that's what siblings are for, lol

Sassy - so sorry to read of your uncles heart attack - how's he recovering? I'm glad you and your DH are getting checked out and getting healthy.

Cristina - hey! Hope you are having a great day!

I went to my first pilates class today. Didn't feel like much at first, but as the day went on, my aches and pains in my back and leg were noticeably better. I will definitely be taking that class again. Hopefully I'll get a bit of a walk in at some point today...the weather is great here.

Have a great day, ladies!

02-20-2008, 12:43 AM
Hi Ladies.

Well I am doing ok with my new "lifestyle" change, not wonderful, but it will get there. I am not trying to concentrate so much on it because that usually makes me end up failing so I just try to make the healthiest choices I can. :)
Still have to incorporate exercise though. That is a biggie I know.

Anyways, moving on........

Nothing new here. Just working. Yippee!! lol. Its cold here today, I walked outside to go to work tonight and wow was it cold!!! :brr: Supposed to get snow in the AM, so DH drove me to work again.

Thank You all for your kind thoughts and support for my Uncle.

I am just going to start Indiv. from today. ok??

Sue -- Glad your mom is feeling better. Have a good time on the Riverboat. Good Luck to your DD.

Susan -- Sorry to hear about your Step dad, hope he gets better soon!

Katy -- woohoo on the jobs and :congrat: on "Graduating" from your sleeping issues. :) No New news on my Uncle. Thanks.

Oh and I found I have the ultimate will power!! The last 2 weeks my co-workers have ordered pizza and have offered me to have a slice and I said NO!!! And yes I WANTED that pizza, I absolutely love pizza, but I love my health more!!! I am so pleased with myself, just for that, saying NO!! :carrot:

A special  to everybody out there who is ill or has ill loved ones, my heart and prayers go out with you and your family.

Hi to everybody out there who is busy, unable to post, or ill or with loved ones that are ill.

02-20-2008, 03:02 AM
hello are you all doing?

I am just scooting through here quickly, since I am going to get to bed sooner then normal so I can get me and the kids on a better suiting schedule....especially now since Brandon is going to be going to school. So, I wrote out the schedule that I want to get us on, and I am hoping and crossing my fingers that I can keep to it 100% enough to make it something that we won't need the sheet for anymore! Plus, I want to make it so that we all get the proper amount of sleep that we need to function. Tommy has told me over and over again that I need to get to bed sooner because he sleeps better when I am in bed with him (and vice versa).

nothing else really going on......Tommy has to work on Wednesday and Thursday.....and then Friday my in-laws are coming over to watch the kids so we can go to Brandon's IEP. Then Tommy will drop me back off here at the apartment, and then he will take the van in to get worked on.sometime this weekend we will be meeting up with one of my best friend's (from when I was younger) aunt. she is pregnant and just found out that she is having a girl. tommy's oldest brother's wife just got an infant carrier and asked me if I know anybody that could use it, so I asked my friend's aunt and she said that she could use it. then who knows where else we will end up. then my in-laws will be back bright and early Monday morning, so that me and Tommy can go to court for his ticket that he got from the accident. which reminds you think we should take the pictures of the damage to the van with us? what about our little folder of stuff from the accident and when the lady called us?

Sue~ That sounds like a nice trip for your mom! I am sure that she is going to love it! And that is great news to hear that her meds are working!

SusieQ~ A dream cruise is where all the older cars have a *day that they can cruise up and down the main road here in Michigan just like they used to do in their glory days. And I say *day, because it has become a week event starting the Monday before the cruise actually happens. People park their motor homes on the main road and live there for a week so that they have prime seating for the Saturday event.

Katy~ How did you hear about reviewing the children's books? Is it just something in your area? I would love to do something like that since it would give me more of a feel about what kind of books are out there for kids these days. Plus, I could read them to the kids to see what they think of them and see what their reactions are.

Sassy~ Great job on the saying no to pizza! I really need to get my booty back in gear! I had to buy smaller underwear because my size 9 and 10's were getting too big. I put on one of my new pair of size 8's after my shower, and they were telling me in a not so nice way that I needed to get back on track!

02-20-2008, 01:58 PM
Good Morning -

Sassy - Awesome on the pizza!! I love pizza too and it is so hard not to be tempted by others especially munching away. Thanks also for the wishes for my step dad, he is so stubborn, I wish he would do what the dr's suggest.

Mindee - Thanks for the explaination on the *dream crusie, I thought you were going somewhere on a boat. It was "Hey, I wanna go too!" lol sounds like fun! Thinking of you especially on Friday w/ Brandons IEP!

Katy - I didn't make it to swimming. I did kind of, didn't stay.......I took Gab and we dressed down and when her father arrived I handed over the bag and said "I have to go pick Becky up from a friends"......I just couldn't stand to sit there w/ him. I was going to ask him to pick one day (T/Th) and I would take the other one. Being around him is not a good thing for my mental health (shhhhh - lol ) ugh. No more cards from him and icky "I will always love you" barf aroma's.
GReat about the children's reviews and knitting! You are a great writer, did you once say you were a teacher? I thought you had....:dizzy:

Critsina - ok, I miss you , where are you??

Hi to Sue, Michelle and Francie!!

I had some oat meal and a slim fast for breakfast. I felt a tad annoyed that Rach and her friend ate my last 2 banana's last night. Her friend is always there and I can't afford to feed them, especially when they eat my fruit. Argh......I made them grill cheeses last night. I was close to tears when I saw the peels in the garbage.. lol.....I must be losing it. I just really wanted a banana.

k- better scoot!!

chat later...have a great day!

02-20-2008, 03:54 PM
Just stopping by to say HI...

I'm around Susan...not really in a talkative mood so...just been lurking and reading. WTG on the 163 though, that is awesome! Did I miss something about a card from the ex?

Anyway...take care ladies! Maybe I'll be in a more talkative mood tomorrow. Love ya

02-20-2008, 04:18 PM
Hi all - time for a quick post before I'm off to balance the checkbook and pay bills - woo hoo

Cristina -Hope you are feeling ok; it's alright to not feel chatty...glad you're still checking in :)

Susan- I think I saw your backside as you were leaving last night, lol! I won't be there tomorrow. DH and I have worked out a trade-off, which is helpful. I feel like I'm doing alot of chauffeur duty lately so it's nice to have a break. Yes, I was an elementary school teacher before I had James....have a master's deg. and everything. I hope to get back into it when the kids are older, but it is a stressful and time consuming job. DH is a teacher also, and we thought it would mean a real stressed out home life if we both worked full time with small children. I wanted to do something where I could make a little $ and work from these jobs seem to fit the bill. It's not much work and not much money, but it's a step.

ETA: Thank you for your nice comment on my blog - made me smile!

Mindee - I thought the dream cruise involved a boat, too. Portland is a river city, so maybe that's why I jumped to that conclusion. I connected with Publisher's Weekly through a friend who is also a SAHM and a former teacher. She gave her editor my name, we spoke on the phone and voila'... If you want to look at the reviews, they have them online...publishersweeklydotcom.

Sassy - good job on turning down the pizza! That's a hard one for me, too. I love pizza, but it doesn't love me...waaa

Today has been less busy, thank goodness. I had a massage this morning, and now Leigh has a friend over to play. So I'm off to do bills, and get some reading in.... have a great day everyone

02-20-2008, 04:57 PM
Hello are you all doing?

well, it is 3:22pm, and I am online because I have three, yes 3!, sleeping kids! I think Brandon is getting sick though. he is taking a nap, and the only time he takes one is when he isn't feeling good! Marissa has a cough, so I am sure that we will end up at the doctor's office either tonight or tomorrow night. I gave her some medicine and laid her down. It feels weird having all three of them sleeping since it doesn't happen that often! so, it is giving me some time to get on here to do some searching. I am thinking about reassessing my goal weight. So, I am doing a search to see what different sites seem to have as an ideal weight for my height, and then I will go from there. two of them are awake, but they seem to be in happier moods. So, it looks like we are living in Mindee's house of sickies (instead of the Disney Channel's Mickey's House of Mouse).

SusieQ~ Thanks for thinking of us! I have a feeling that every thing is going to go great at the IEP! Now, if only I could get the same feeling as far as the court date as well!

Katy~ Thanks for that bit of information. I will have to look more into it. I am going to be going crazy once Brandon goes to school and I will be sitting here staring at the walls when Marissa and Logan are sleeping and Brandon is at school!

02-20-2008, 06:18 PM
Back Again -

I just got my foot stepped on by a bunch of teenage loons at the library. That is what I get for sitting next to the *sign up* station, pissed me off! lol

Cristina -:hug: as long as you are around, hope to chat tomorrow!! :) As far as the card thing with the ex it was something I mentioned to Katy at the pool on Valentines day. Gab's father had sent a card saying "I will always love you" made me puke. lol - jk. It made me unconfortable. My mom thought it was just his way to express his fond memories of me *snicker*....regardless......I just, ugh, wish he would go focus on his other daughter for awhile. lol

Katy - You recognized my backside, eh? I was wearing a pink sweater and I think a maternity shirt. lol I was a cute shirt that I found but as the day went on I started craving spanish rice and ice cream all meshed together. I should have told the Ex I was pregnant by McDreamy, that would shut him up for a bit. haha Enjoy the bill paying! :) You're welcome on the comment!! It is a great picture :)

Mindee - How tall are you??? Wow on all the kids taking naps at once, my girls never did that!!

I just was checking in again before I go get Gab. We have homework tonight and getting to bed early - with the holiday weekend my unemployment doesn't come until the morning on my debit card - I soooo want some $$! Have to go pay my power bill first thing and tuck half the rent away for the first....after that I will be broke again. lol....close!

Had chicken tenderloin w/ cottage cheese and pickled beets for lunch - found it was cheaper to buy a bag of chicken instead of cans of tuna at $1.59 a can...I think the bag is 5.99 and gives me a weeks worth of chicken. blah - blah

k- adios!!

02-21-2008, 12:05 AM
back again as well......

SusieQ~ I am 5'3 3/4", but I just say 5'4" because it is easier! We buy the Kroger (not sure if you have one near you) brand of chicken in the bag. we only buy them when they are buy one get one free......however, the last time we needed chicken, we bought it at Wal-Mart since it was a dollar cheaper!

02-21-2008, 02:36 AM
well, no need to go to the doctor's office or prompt care with Marissa. I have identified the culprit that has invaded the house of sickies. Marissa woke herself up out of a nice sleep with.....dum dum dum.......the barking seal cough! My little princess has croup! I gave her a breathing treatment using the albuterol for the breathing machine and her face got all blotchy. So, I am going to call the pediatrician's office in the morning to see if we can possibly get her an appointment on Thursday night. (thankfully Tommy doesn't work on Friday!)

02-21-2008, 03:00 PM
Good Morning -

Mindee - awww, :bb:poor Marissa, I hope she feels better!! I bought Kroger last time I went to Winco (Wal-Mart is clear across town) I liked it but I think Tyson had more of a taste to it. It was good though and it beats the tuna cost!!

I just was checking in, still TOM and feeling rather pissy this week. I am surprised McDreamy is still talking to me - lol. Went and paid the power bill now I need to get some groceries in the house, so will chat later!

Hope you all have a great Thursday!!

02-21-2008, 05:17 PM
susieQ~ I am due for TOM soon.....can't pin point exactly since she likes to pick an chose when she wants to come. but I am sure that she will be here soon..... Marissa is doing better today.....she still has her cough and isn't really sleeping that much during nap time because she won't stay in one spot with her head elevated.

02-22-2008, 02:24 PM
Good Morning -

Mindee- See, I always thought TOM was a guy. lol Thinking of Brandon and his speech appt today! Cross fingers you make some headway :)

Weighed and I am down another pound, so pleased about that and it is Friday! Thank goodness, it seems like a rough week with the hoilday, TOM and little money. I think I will pass on a night w/ McDreamy and stay home and read a book. Probably do something tomorrow night with him, I really want some *me* time and Gaby and Rach will both be gone tonight.

Ate a banana, slim fast and a scrambled egg for breakfast - probably do the tenderloin for lunch and broccoli, I love broccoli.

k- that is my update! Chat at you all later.

02-22-2008, 07:38 PM
hello are you all doing?

well, the IEP went exceptionally well!! Me and Tommy are extremely pleased with everything! his teacher and his speech therapist are great! they even do OT (occupational therapy) in the room with all the kids, twice a month. Both the goals for the teacher and the speech therapist, are dead on and they are excited to meet Brandon and get it all started! They have his start date as Monday the 25th, but they said that it usually takes transportation five school days to get him fitted into the route. But they will call me and let me know what time to have him ready for the bus. He is in the morning class, and like I mentioned before, they can't wait to meet him! His teacher was telling us about some upcoming field trips that she is planning. One is to take the kids to the zoo in the spring time and the other one is to take them bumper bowling in April. The zoo trip, they will be not riding a bus, but the parents will be transporting so that the parents get one on one time with them. (Tommy is excited about that trip)

His teacher did say that if we want to send a snack in for his birthday that she prefers that it isn't the store bought cupcakes with an inch of icing on them. She did say that the first thing she does with the kids when they get off the bus, is they all take turns going into the bathroom and using the toilet. (So that is a BIG time bonus!) The teacher sends home a Monday folder with basically what the weeks plans are, but she also will send home a daily note to let us know what he did while he was there, so that it will help us in asking him questions about what he did. But she said that we will need to send in some pull-ups, wipes (for him), wipes (for the classroom), money for snacks, money for milk, extra clothes, and I think that was it. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday is regular milk during snack time. Wednesday is juice during snack time, and Friday is always chocolate milk during snack time!

Marissa is doing better.....somewhat. She has now started with a runny nose and she got up from her nap and was saying "owwwwww" when I laid her on the floor so I could get diapers. So, we are going to take her into prompt care so that we can make sure that it hasn't progressed into something more then Croup.

SusieQ~ Or shall we call you the incredibly shrinking woman? Sounds like a great idea to have some me time since Gab and Rach won't be there.

02-22-2008, 07:42 PM
oh yeah....Tommy went to a meeting at the temp agency that he is going through, and they informed him that the company that he was working out, got rid of all the temp agency employees. So, he has to call back on Monday, and they will try and get him back into a place that he was working at before. The company didn't even give the two ladies in charge at the temp agency a reason for getting rid of them! So, now let's just hope that court goes great on Monday!!

02-22-2008, 11:52 PM
Hi Girls.

Here I am. I just haven't felt up to posting..........Work was busy this week and I am just glad to have time off again! lol. We got all that nasty snow and ice here. Then on Monday its supposed to be 45? I think Mother Nature is totally hormonal. lol.

Nothing much going on here. I splurged yesterday for one meal w/ DH since Thursdays are our only day off together. Then I got right back op. ;) I still have not exercised.........I know bad Sassy. lol. Just can't get the energy up to do it!! lol.

Susan -- :woohoo: another pound!! :congrat: Time alone sometimes is nice. I have 3 nights worth every week, that is a little much sometimes. lol.

Katy -- you wanna know what else I had to smell at work? A coworker brought in McDonalds!!! :faint: I was like, what is this the ultimate test of my willpower or what? lol.

Mindee -- Glad things went well and glad Marissa is feeling better.

DH & I rented The Brave One w/ Jodie Foster lastnight, it was really good!!!

Very Weird. I just now got online and signed into messenger, DH messages me saying "finally. r u ok?" I am like, yeah. He has been trying to call me for several hrs. So I look at my phone, sure enough I have 4 VM's from DH. I checked my phone as soon as I got up about 6:30 or so. After DH IM'd me and I checked my phone, I noticed little Zzz's by my ringer. It was on silent mode!! I do not know how that happened because on my phone, to change the ringer, you have to hit not one button, but two on the side of the phone at different times and when you hit the one, it makes a noise, so I would have heard it if I had accidentally hit it. Also I've had this phone for at least a year now and this has never happened before and I keep my phone in my purse when I go out and I put it in my pocket when I am walking around the house, then I take it out, so if it was going to happen, it would have happened before and it never has. Very strange. But DH was flipping out cuz he couldn't get a hold of me. He said he was almost ready to drive home to check on me. lol.

He said the roads are horrible, all ice. One county that is close to ours is on Level 3, which means the city is shut down, only emergency vehicles are allowed. I told DH if work offers hotel rooms, take one. No since in him being out in that if he doesn't have to be.

Big  take care out there everybody!!!

02-23-2008, 01:59 AM
Sassy~ That sounds like my DH when Brandon soaked my phone with spit. He had a friend of ours come over to check on me.....and then I had to explain to Tommy what happened. (Mind you I was also pregnant with Marissa, AND they had just had a double murder happen not too far from where we live)

02-23-2008, 06:05 AM

Well I did it! I exercised!! :carrot: To some CRAZY woman, who concentrates on Abs -- which I desperately need, not just for looks, but to help with my back problems. This lady is freaking crazy, you should have seen me and what I was doing!! She has you on all fours on the floor and take one arm and hold it in front of you and the opposite leg out and then bring them in. I was like "WHAT?" I did it but I know my cat was looking at me like, "What the he** is she doing?" lol. I couldn't do it all but I did most of it. Felt better afterwards.

On our cable we have these Exercise on Demands, where you can watch Exercise programs and pause and stop and rewind just like a video or dvd and they are all free (with our cable service) so there are lots to choose from. I may try a cardio tomorrow!!!

:woohoo: Go ME!!! :carrot:

Did you ever wonder why nasty mean people's lives are so easy and why good decent people have to struggle? Just was thinking about it and it is true. Good hard working people get crap and the nasty mean people get everything they want. Just irks me.

Just some thoughts.....

02-23-2008, 03:10 PM
Good Morning!

Mindee- Yay, to Brandon going to school, how fun. Gab did 2 years at Headstart and loved it, especially riding the bus. I am glad Marissa is feeling better :)

Sassy - Beware of women that focus on abs. lol Great for exercising!! I freeze just reading the weather you are having, it is so summery here in the 50's, even brought out the capris!!! :) I think it is ok to *splurge*, I am going to do it tonight with McDreamy - yum to cheesebread :D

So, I saw 160 on the scale this morning - how freaky is that?? It was very stable at 161 though so down we go again, think that is 2.5 for the week - yahoo! I can't wait to see 159!! I had a slim fast and banana for breakfast. I read last night until 4am. I finished Undomestic Goddess, it was a good read and I enjoyed it. I crawled in bed at 7pm w/ a glass of cold water, a glass of wine and 5 ritz crackers - along w/ the book. That was my HOT Friday night and I loved it!! It felt good to just chill and not have kids running around wanting me to do something for them.

I fell asleep at 4am and woke up at 8:30am - went and got Rach from her friends and a cup of coffee - doing laundry now. McDreamy called and we chatted,I guess we will get together later that is my weekend so far!

Chat at you all later!!

:wave:Hi to Cristina(I misssssss you!! :)) , Katy, Jules, Sue, Francie and Michelle!!

Hello ladies!

Sorry for being away so long...I didn't realize how long it has been...just been in a mood, not sure if it is the weather or what..but I do need to get out of the house for sure.

SUSAN...I just looked at your ticker and wow! WTG missy! 160 is great! One day I will be there, lol. I see about the card...what the heck was he thinking? Who wrote Undomestic Goddess? It sounds familiar.

SASSY...WTG missy on the exercise! I am proud of you! :carrot:

KATY...WTG on the jobs! Sounds so cool, and doing something you love to boot! guys sure have had your share of the colds haven't ya? I think we have too. I told V to say away from and daughter had it but he has it worse..has a horrible hacking cough. Woohoo, school for Brandon! He will love it!

Nothing much going on...sticking around the house the last week because of this nasty weather...really get in a funk and don't want to do anything, but exercise, lol. And read...which I have done a little. Anyway...hope everyone has a nice weekend! I'll be sitting at home exercising and reading, lol. Another icky day in the land of oz.

I thought this was funny enough to

SALEM, OR—Local resident Steven Bertram is "fed up" with girlfriend Alicia Maas' incessant need to do stuff, a visibly frustrated Bertram reported Monday.

According to the 31-year-old maintenance technician, Maas, 29, regularly insists that the couple engage in an endless series of activities, things, and events, at various times of the day, despite the fact that Bertram would often prefer not to do such stuff.

"Just yesterday she was going on and on about how much she wanted to see a movie," said Bertram, noting that he had, after repeated requests, taken the demanding Maas to a local cineplex only two months prior. "How many movies does a person need to see in a year? Sometimes I just want to relax."

Though he and Maas have dated for almost two years, Bertram reportedly did not recognize the severity of his girlfriend's near-chronic dependence on getting out of the house and doing stuff until six months ago, when she insisted the two attend a free outdoor concert in their neighborhood. Since that time, Maas has asked an estimated 11 times to be taken to dinner, 17 times to go grocery shopping, and, on 20 separate occasions, has expressed a desire to go on a meandering walk without a fixed destination, purpose, or time limit.

The precise number of incidents, Bertram said, is difficult to determine, as Maas has oftentimes enlisted him in activities without first asking, including initiating seemingly pointless conversations lacking any definitive context or subject matter, as well as making plans with coworkers, family members, friends, old roommates, the people upstairs, and acquaintances Bertram does not know.

In addition, an alarming majority of the activities Maas suggests involve standing up.

"I don't know if I can live like this," Bertram said. "On Saturday I was excited to sit back and watch some TV, and then she reminds me that [Bertram's best friend] Jeremy [Durst] is having his birthday party, and so next thing you know, I've got to get up, throw some pants on, and hang out with people all night."

"For once I'd like to do what I want to do," Bertram continued. "She always wants to go somewhere or look at something."

Bertram said that for several weeks he attempted to deflect Maas' demands or otherwise dissuade her from pursuing activities outside their one-bedroom apartment through a series of complex excuses—including a feigned lower-back injury—but met with little success. Recently, he has tried to compromise by purchasing an XBox 360 and several multiplayer games for the two to use together, as well as upgrading the couple's Netflix account to allow five DVDs at a time.

Maas' obsession, however, has shown no signs of abating, and on Sunday she volunteered herself and Bertram to walk their neighbors' dog when they go on vacation next week.

"That's three more nights ruined," said Bertram as he toggled between the popular website and a game of online poker. "I could literally be doing anything else, but instead, I'll be walking a dog. I don't need to always be doing stuff, and especially not stuff like that."

According to behavioral psychologist Dr. Michael Greer, though Maas' irrational compulsion for doing things is extreme, it is by no means uncommon.

"Alicia is exhibiting all the classic signs of what we call 'active behavior'—an impulse to engage in unnecessary and often prolonged outdoor movement that is most commonly found in females," Greer said. "Though we cannot be certain, these habits seem to stem from an innate desire to not be doing nothing."

Added Greer, "All available research indicates that this type of unstable behavior is most disturbing when it occurs early in the morning, after 10 p.m., on weekends and perfectly good vacation days, or before one has a chance to finish the third *******ed disc of the second season of Lost."

Despite repeated attempts, Maas could not be reached for comment, since she was out at the gym or having coffee with a friend or some ****.

omg, omg, omg :dance::dance::dance: it is our Cristina!! have been gone forever!!

:bravo::dancer: on getting into the 170's!

Sophie Kinsella (??) I think that is her name ,,,wrote the Confessions of a Shopaholic books, I think Francie was mentioning the books, so I picked it up. Funny and I look forward to her other books.
McD just says Mike needs to get a girlfriend. I don't think I wish him on anyone...haha, I know - I am pmsing.

anyway - thanks! I just am eating a lot more chicken and laying off the bagels, that is the only thing different I am doing.

Laundry almost done!! Great to see you back and posting :) !!

02-23-2008, 04:12 PM
Ha! thank you Susan for noticing my ticker! I forgot to mention that I was down a pound and in the 170's-FINALLY! Never thought I would see them.

Going to have to see what the book is about for sure! Even though I have a stack I am trying to get thru...decided no new books until I finish the stack, lol. We'll see how long that lasts, lol.

Cute story, lol! Thanks for sharing it!

Have a great night with McDreamy whatever you guys do!

02-24-2008, 02:56 AM
Hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....not only is Marissa sick, but both Brandon and Logan have started with a cough now. So, since we have to go to court on Monday for Tommy's ticket from the accident, I am going to make a doctor's appointment for all three of them so that we can get them all on the road to happiness! And so that Brandon is 100% better and ready for the bus and school! He is going to have school pictures taken sometime in Spring.....(as long as they do the preschool classes)

Cristina~ Congratulations on getting to the 170's!!!!

SusieQ~ Thanks for posting that story! That was funny!

Sassy~ That sounds like me doing any kind of exercises! I know exactly which exercise you are talking about! Have you seen if your On Demand has the Carmen Electra ones? Ours does, and I have been wanting to try them out, but haven't yet. I will be getting to them though now that Brandon will be in school, and it will give me some time to do them!

02-24-2008, 04:24 PM
Good Morning !

I didn't weigh this morning, didn't want to see the damage from last nights dinner.

Mindee- I don't know how you do it w/ 3 little ones. I hope they all feel better soon. Sweet about Brandon and his school days, I love grade school and everything it involves - except homework. lol

Cristina - Of course I would notice your ticker!! You have done awesome these last few months!! I just got a notice that Shopaholic & Sister is in at the library, so I will have that to read. McD gave me Kite Runner and I started it a little this morning, suppose to be good.

The *date* w/ McDreamy was good. We went for a hike at a place called Tyron park, woodsy paths and peaceful. After that we went to the store and he picked up groceries to make dinner. I felt so domesticated. He asked me where the cheese was in the store....silly man...I mean it is our neighborhood store, does he not know where the cheese is???? lol
He made pasta - and I don't know what it is called - the tunnel shape kind that you stuff w/ different cheeses?? Anyway - he made that w/ salad....he asked if I wanted cheesebread and I said no...I was trying to be good. His son had made a chocolate pudding pie w/ cool whip and oreo's.......I didn't have any of that either. I must have been staring at his plate though because he asked "do you want some Susan???"...and I weakly said "I want an oreo" he plucked one w/ his fork and gave it to me.....yum. lol

So, we had a nice evening - kissed and said "I will see you next week" I think we have it down pat. haha

I woke up and had a slim fast w/ banana again. anyway - my goal is 159 by next Friday!! Cross fingers.....

chat at you all later!! Hope you are having a great Sunday!

02-24-2008, 04:45 PM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....getting ready to watch some Nascar soon! The kids are still coughing so, I will make sure that we get them into the doctor's office tomorrow. I am not sure if I mentioned this but, when we were in the IEP for Brandon, I was looking around the room, and the speech therapist gives them "homework" to do. I am not sure if Brandon will get homework or not, but I was really excited to see that since it really reassured me that he is going to be getting the help that he needs.

We had gone over to my sister Beth's house yesterday. (she is the sister that threw the hissy fit about my dad's birthday party) But every thing was cool. She told me that she had to laugh when she read the part in my email about not being nervous or anything about my oldest going to school. She told me that when her oldest daughter, Koryn, went to school, she didn't even get a kiss, hug or bye mom! Koryn was just ready to get on the bus and to go! So, that made me feel a little better!

SusieQ~ That is great about your date! Was it mostaccioli noodles that he used? Or rigatoni is another one like that. You will have to let me know how Kite Runner is. I am on another board that has a group for book nerds as they call us on that board, and every body has mentioned reading Kite Runner and said that it was good. You are doing amazingly well with your weight loss! Now, I need to get a swift kick in the butt to get on track!

I do have to say though, that even with TOM being here, she brought three pounds with her, but one has I am happy about that!

02-24-2008, 07:09 PM
Mindee and Susan- fwiw I thought The Kite Runner was excellent! You're gonna need some hankies at different points.

Cristina- wtg on your loss! I am just barely below 180 and it was hard work, so I have walked a mile, so to speak. You are doing great!

Hi to everyone I am not getting to at the moment, (sorry) I need to get some knitting done, then its Oscar Oscar! I need to fill out my ballot..

I worked out for two hours at the gym yesterday and I worked for two hours at the school for a garden work party - all moving dirt -I'm gonna be very sore!

Have a great evening everyone..I know this won't happen, but I'm putting down Juno for Best Picture! If it does get an upset victory, you can say you heard it here first people!

02-25-2008, 01:43 AM
we have court in the morning, so we are going to take them hopefully tomorrow afternoon! I am going to mention to them when I call that we had taken Marissa into prompt care Friday night and that we were told to follow up with her pediatrician if she isn't getting better. She isn't getting worse, but she still has her cough and every thing. And now with Logan and Brandon getting whatever she has, I just want to make sure that it isn't something that could turn into some thing worse like pneumonia.

also, while we were watching the Oscars, Marissa was playing around on the floor. she was doing an army crawl, or as I told Tommy, we have an inch worm on our hands! she was so cute! she would lift her butt up and then use her arms to drag herself forward until she was flat on her belly, then lifted her butt just to do it all again.........and she was gaining speed with each attempt at moving! right before we put her to bed, she got on her hands and knees and moved a couple spots and then she laid on her belly to move a scarf that was in her way. so, it won't be that much longer before she is extremely mobile!!!

Katy~ you are doing great on your weight loss as well!!!

02-25-2008, 05:31 AM
Good Monday (Blech) :p Morning!!

Back to work for me tonight....... Yippee. DH told me some interesting news about one of the dayshift girls on my team, she is leaving, not only the co. but she is moving to NYC!! :fr: I say WTG for her!! Not sure why, if she got a job, if she is going to college, or what, but I wish her luck. Now I am worried though that our "tightwad" boss won't back fill her position and that means A LOT more work for us and we are already over-loaded as it is. Maybe I'll find out more tonight when I go in. So "Stay Tuned!!!" lol.

Well after I did so well exercising, it totally wiped me out and I didn't do much the last two nights. Didn't do any cardio or even the crazy ab lady. lol. To your question -- Mindee -- yes we have Carmen Electra. I was thinking of trying the Billy Blaine Taebo ones though, heard it is fun and is great exercise.

So nothing exciting going on here. DH brought an apt. guide home, so not sure if we will "settle" for another apt, or what. I told him though that if we do go that route, I want an UPDATED and energy efficient apt and if possible closer to work. I am not compromising either because I refuse to go to one crappy apt to another one. lol. The main concern is energy efficiency though. Our current Utility bill is over $200 for a 2 bedroom apt. Totally ridiculous if you ask me. Esp when my in-laws who have a 3 bedroom ranch HOUSE pay less than that or equilivant because all our utilities are lumped into one, water, electric, trash and sewage. That just is so ridiculous!!! And we have lived in a few apts before this one and so we know that this is not normal. We've had our apt checked out a number of times and they say its normal. The problem is that the town we live in has their own utilities and you have no choice in that matter. (Another reason to move)

Anywho, enough about our apt. woh's. lol. I think we are supposed to have a "heat wave" today and get up to 45 degrees!!! lol. I think I should break out the shorts!!! lol. I am so ready for spring. This drab weather just makes you feel drab. lol. At least it does me. lol.

Have you all ever heard of the "Evolution Diet?" I saw the last half of a show talking about it and the people on it did so well with lowering cholesterol and all, but they said the "side effects" of it can be um disruptive. Basically you need to make sure you are close to a restroom. I can see it now. Me at work talking on the phone and say, "oooo can u hold???" and running to the bathroom!!! Ok I shouldn't make fun of it but it just caught me as funny. I am sure its a very great diet and all, just definitely not for me. lol.

Also they had on there about eating raw garlic is supposed to help um how can I say this? Assist men w/ certain functions?? :o They said that the main cause is from Cholesterol build up? I have never heard of that before, esp for that "area"? Amazing what you learn. lol. Sorry don't mean to be crude or anything but I was kinda amazed on that little fact. lol. But for this to work the men have to eat 4 cloves of raw garlic a day??? Wow that is a lot of garlic!!! lol.

Anyways, enough on the Sassy Health Hr. lol. What can I say nothing else was on and I was looking at the apt. guide while it was on. lol.

Question has your taste in movies or music drastically changed as you got older? I am finding that mine is. At least movies. I used to be a huge Horror Flick buff and now I like the Romantic Comedies a lot better. DH bought me Saw IV and I really have no interest in seeing it and the last 3 I really wanted to see. Very strange. and with music I cannot hardly tolerate certain rap music anymore, nothing against it, just I cannot tolerate it anymore where as before it didn't really bother me, now if it comes on I have to change the station. I just think I'm getting old. lol. No other real explanation that I can think of. lol.

Well I guess that is enough of a "Sassy Novel" for now. lol. :write:

Take Care!!!

02-25-2008, 02:43 PM
Good Morning -

Mindee- Cute about Marissa being an *inch worm* - how sweet. Hope all the kids are feeling better and all goes well in court!

Sassy - I am glad you are finally thawing out!! It has been sounding so cold where you live! I have never heard of Evalution Diet .

Katy - At least the writer for Juno won an Oscar! Bravo on the 2 hours of gym time :)

My contacts are kind of bothering me so just a quickie - hope you all are having a good Monday.
Annoyed w/ Gaby's father but nothing new there. Busy w/ Rach and job search stuff. Taking Gab to see The Bee Movie tonight, it is through the PTA. You purchase 10 tickets for $9 and get to see 10 movie over the next 10 weeks....parents don't have to pay! Thought it was a good deal and it is at a theatre. Tonight is Bee and there is also Enchanted coming up and I wanted to see that w/ Gab. Of course she is scared of the dark but I hope seeing other kids from her school she will want to go in....argh.

k- chat later :)

02-25-2008, 04:20 PM
Hello beautiful ladies!

SUSAN...okay, now, don't be a spoiler! I don't want to hear anything about the book. I started First Impressions by Jude Deveraux but Kite Runner and Water For Elephants are my next two reads. Hey, I think the tickets for the movies are a great deal! Where the heck can you see that many movies for that price?

MINDEE...hope the kids are better today. Man, that crap is going around and we have all had it. Hopefully, you were able to get them in to see the doc. How did that and court go?

SASSY...I don't know :dunno: $200 a month doesn't sound so bad to me. Of course I don't know how big your place is but our gas bill is almost that alone! But it's been really cold this year so...all our utilities are seperate so but too in the summer if it's hot the electric will be almost that so I guess it is the same all year, lol. As far as the taste in movies...mine hasn't changed at all. I have been wanting to see Saw4 since Josh was home at Christmas time, lol.

KATY...thank you! And WTG on the workouts! :carrot: I missed the Oscars :o Haven't even read the paper to see who got what yet either.

HIYA JULES...hoping all is well with you and the family, especially that baby. He is adorable and I love the avatar!

HIYA SUE & FRANCIE!hoping all is well with you ladies too!

Nothing much going on with me today. Exercise, exercise & exercise! I keep saying I am only going to do a certain amount and I can't do it. Geez, it's in my blood! Guess there could be worse things, lol. I have to say though, that I am glad and I never thought I would actually learn to love exercise. Anywho...just getting some laundry done and that's about it.

Hoping everyone is having a wonderful day! Love ya's

02-25-2008, 06:02 PM
Cristina - You sound chipper! I have to be in the mood for exercise, I think the sun has to be out or something. lol

I didn't see the $200 of utilities! I think that is a lot. I pay around $170 right now (about a 1000 sq ft) for these cold months, in the summer I was at $50/60. I don't have a washer/dryer either. I am told it is because of the baseboard heaters.

Full on tenderloin and broccoli.

Yes, let hope Gaby will sit for the movie. I might sneak in an apple or a bag of nibbler pretzels, those are so good.

Gab is kind of stuttering again. She did this last year when I lived at my mothers. It is stress related, I think. Maybe going back to the 2nd school? Trying to figure it out.

k- just jabbering. Chat tomorrow!

02-25-2008, 10:56 PM
Hi Girls.

Susan & Cristina -- Yeah I beleive it only got up to a whopping 30-something though today so what a heatwave!! lol. I think $200 is a lot considering our apt is only 800 sq. feet, if even that? When we had a townhouse our utilities was never over $100 and that was with two floors!!! I dunno, just seems high to me, if we had a house or even a townhouse, then maybe, but our tiny apt? doesn't seem right. lol. But maybe its just another "excuse" to get out of there. Although DH is still dragging his feet. I think we'll be living there until we move into an old folks home at this rate!!!

 to all.

02-26-2008, 02:56 AM
hello are you all doing?

court went great. Tommy had to pay $150 and the judge is going to check his record in 60 days and as long as he doesn't get any tickets or accidents, then he will get no points from the ticket or anything like that. we took the kids to the pediatrician's office Monday afternoon. Brandon has an ear infection in his right ear, bronchiolitis, and croup. Logan has a double ear infection, bronchiolitis, and croup. Marissa, our little cootie princess that started it all, has a double ear infection, bronchiolitis, and croup. So, they are all on antibiotics for the ear infections.......and they are on a steroid for the bronchiolitis, and also breathing treatments. We were told to give Marissa a breathing treatment for 3 minutes instead of 5, to help her break up the gunk in her chest. so, they are all on breathing treatments every four hours.

also, I got a call from the transportation department Monday afternoon. Brandon is to be ready between 8:10 and 8:15am on Thursday to go to school! (as long as he is feeling better.....other wise I will be calling in for him)

I called the pediatrician's office to see about getting them in Monday afternoon, and the receptionist says "are they sick?" I said "yes they are" to which she let out a sigh and said "hold on." She then came back on the phone and said "how about 3:30?" I said "for all three of them? that would be fine." I hung up the phone and told Tommy and my MIL, who had watched the kids while we went to court, and Tommy said "what kind of comment is that?" I said "apparently, we take the kids to the doctor's office only when they are healthy."

Sassy~ I have noticed that since having the three munchkins, I have changed my taste in music. I used to listen to all types of music before, including rap. But now I don't see a point in it since most of the songs now have every swear word in them. IF I feel the need to listen to something old school, I will wait until they go to bed and then listen to it. I have never been too into horror movies, and I still am not a big horror fan. I love any kind of movie, BUT horror.

SusieQ~ My "inch worm" is becoming a big girl! she became more adventurous with her crawling and was moving more on her hands and knees on Monday. So, it won't be too much longer before she is full fledge crawling!

Cristina~ I love your new avatar! every thing went well with court, and the kids are on the path to being healthy again. Hopefully I can get Brandon 100% healthy in time to go to school on Thursday!

02-26-2008, 01:45 PM
Quick "fly by" posting. I just wanted to say I did great yesterday, calories were good and I exercised. Just a little exercise to get started on my BBF's equipment, but it was something. AND...ta between meal junk. I had fruit all ready for a snack last night in case I got hungry, but didn't need it. Now just to do this for about another 6 months. Hahaha... SO far today I had an OP we will see how the day goes. One day down and one day at a time.

Actually wrote this earlier and posted it elsewhere, then before I could do it here my computer took a nose dive. Still don't know what happened, but I got it to come back up.

Took Mom's dog to the groomer and will go get her shortly. Snow is coming down, but not sticking now. Kind of wet since it is above freezing out there. They had the cutest puppy for sale...I would have had her in a minute if DH would not have shot me. Part maltese and part imperial ****zu. What a beauty.

Have a good day gals and I will BBL.

02-26-2008, 03:29 PM
Hello ladies...

SUSAN...exercise always does that to me, well, most of the time, lol. I had just exercised and was feeling pretty the natural high, lol. Sorry the Gabster is stuttering...I bet it is from stress. When DH#1 passed I did notice that I had started stuttering until someone pointed it out to me.

MINDEE...I thought the avatar was so pretty...somewhere I would love to live for sure. Sorry the kids are sick, yikes! Hope they get better soon. Guess Tommy's ticket could have been worse, still $150 is a lot.

SASSY...I guess that does seem kind of high for 800 sq. ft. is it all electric? That makes a difference somtimes. I know utilities are getting higher and higher each's ridiculous! What kills me is stupid charges like charging for the gas to go thru the lines to your house...WTF? Now don't get me started on the phone bill,

SUE...sounds like you are doing great with the food and exercise...WTG! :carrot: Aww, the doggy sounded so cute! I have been wanting another dog for so long but every time I think about it I feel bad that Ernie dog won't like a playmate. One day.

Not a lot going on today...same old stuff, different day! Got part of my exercise done. Let me tell ya...the turbo jam is a killer, yikes! This is only my 3rd time doing it and I think once I get the learn and burn moves down I will be fine but ouch! I did it once when I got it and then my back went out, but not from it, I don't think. So just getting back into it starting last week. Only doing it two or three times a week...on the days I do weights, the jump rope and ride the bike, which is today and Thursday.

Going to cook a roast for dinner tonight. I've been cooking them in the crock pot, sort of like stew. Doing the oven thing tonight with mashed potatoes and baby carrots...just sounds good to me today, lol! Anyway...

Have a wonderful day chickies!

02-26-2008, 06:26 PM
Afternoon -

Just wanted to do a fast hello!

Cristina - ya, forgot about the natural high that comes w/ exercise! We are going to have to send you to rehab pretty soon, lol.

How did I ever get to be so funny I do not know.

Had chicken tenderloin and broccoli again for lunch, it was so good. Drinking tons of water and hope that flushes me out and all,,,,,,,something like that.

Spending my computer time emailing McD today so am short of time!! Catch up tomorrow.

Hello to everyone!

02-27-2008, 12:45 AM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....the kids are feeling better. Brandon and Logan are back to their normal selves! They were wrestling and every thing like they always do! They were even back to themselves enough to give Marissa a bath with orange juice! They are not coughing as much any more, they don't sound as congested as they were. So, if all goes well and Brandon is feeling 100% better on Thursday, he will be getting on that bus and going to school! I told him that he was going to be starting school and riding the bus in a couple of days and he was ready to get his back pack packed! He had pulled out some pull ups and was ready to put them in his back pack!

Good Morning -

I am glad the kids are feeling better Mindee, I always feel helpless when Gaby isn't feeling good. I also found out I can't get her the states medical for 6 months because she had Kaiser through me when I worked and I am getting $300 too much a month now to get 6 months the amount goes up almost $500 and I guess I can get it at that time - course we hope I have a job by that time. *sigh.....

Cristina - yum, your roast dinner sounds good! You always pick out great avatars.

Sue - Sounds like you are doing really good!:bravo:

Hi to Jules, Sassy, Francie, Katy, and Michelle

I finished The Kite Runner last night, read til 2am. It was so good and kind of draining to take it all in. It left me sad. Now I have 2 shopaholic books to read because I took Katy's advice and put books on hold at the library - now everything is coming in at once - lol

Edged back up to 162 but think I will leave the ticker alone. I will change it Friday. Maybe I am just bloated?? Oh joy.

k- chat at you all later!

02-27-2008, 02:33 PM
Glad to know Susan, that Kite Runner is good! I've done that as well, stayed up late to finish a book. Just get so in to them I HAVE to see how it ends! I was just at the store and thought of you and Francie...saw a couple of the Shopaholic day I may get to reading some. Have so many I am trying to get read right now though. I hadn't read like I normally do/did last year but kept buying books, lol. So have quite the stack to get thru.

Mindee...glad the kids are on the mend. I always hated when the kids were sick too, just seeing them feel so bad was horrible.

Hello to everyone else

Nothing going on today. Had a couple of errands to run this morning, did most of my exercise...just have 30 minutes to do after Jeopardy this afternoon, picked up dog poo, lol and now I need to get some laundry done. It is a gorgeous day out...hate staying inside but it's still not so warm that I want to go walk the neighborhood. Can't wait for spring!

Have a great day!

02-27-2008, 03:24 PM
Cristina -

What is the weather there? It looks like mid 50"s here today, it is finally feeling like Spring!! It is also nice not have to have the heaters on at night.

KRunner was good, just a lot to take in, I think I am going to need a Shopaholic book to balance me out now - they are fun to read and I will probably stay up again to read tonight! I like to just get the book read especially if it is really good and night time is peaceful with everyone sleeping. blah - blah

Suppose to be *job searching* can ya tell?? lol

k- back to the grind - just wanted to say hi to you!!

02-27-2008, 06:40 PM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end....just dealing with two boys that are driving me batty!! can you tell that they are feeling better? now Tommy seems to have come down with what they as I type this, he is sleeping on the couch, my little cootie cutie was sleeping until Brandon woke her up, but she is good for going back to sleep. So, I have the Bashem brothers driving me batty right now! good thing for no means they go to bed early! so, as far as things are going now, Brandon will be getting on the bus in the morning. I will make sure that he has his medicines and his breathing treatment before he gets on the bus! (so, if I don't make it back on here tonight....which I probably won't because I am going to be going to bed early so that we can get started on this new schedule. long story short.....if I don't make it back on tonight, I will be on tomorrow)

02-27-2008, 08:35 PM
Hi all--I will start indys next time!!

Ry is still moving to Portland not sure if it's April or August yet...both Adam and his girlfriend want him to come. She is going out for school and her Dad is going to set them up in an off campus apartment and then the boys will work and cover expenses. Her Dad is happy the boys will be there for two reasons--to help with the bills and to keep his baby girl safe. Now the two in Eugene want him to come live with them again...they are nuts!! I am much happier with him going with Adam.

Teri and Nick are doing well. They are coming over on the weekends and staying. Me and Grandpa are loving it. Dave is still in jail due to the violation of probation and is facing up to a year. His friends have made major slips and Teri is finding out all kinds of lies. He has come clean and suppossedly told her everything at this point and wants her to wait for him and has promised all kinds of things. Am I being mean in wanting her to move on. It's easy to change when you are in a controlled enviroment--I just don't see it sticking when he gets back into the "real world".

Hubby has been alternating between driving me insane and making me remember why I do love him. The baby is mellowing him.

I can't wait for spring!!

02-28-2008, 01:47 PM
Good Morning -

Mindee - I guess the good thing is the tikes are feeling better. You can kind of gage that on how batty they drive you :) Hopefully w/ Spring around the corner they will be getting outside more and taking care of some of that energy!!

Jules - Exciting about Ry moveing to Portland! I am sure he will love it, especially since he is coming when the weather is decent. I don't think it is mean for wanting Teri to move on, promises made behind bars doesn't seem to have much weight. She deserves to be happy, if she is meant to be w/ him time will tell.

I feel like Dr Phil.

Crossing fingers I maintain at 161 tomorrow if not 160, we'll see. I knew it was kind of freaky how fast it was going down after being at 171 for months. I will be happy where I am at and keep plugging along. I soooo want 159 though.....I will be thrilled to be that weight again.

Had oatmeal and a banana w/ Gaby for breakfast. I am trying to get in at least 80 oz's of water a day, I only made 60 yesterday.

k- I guess that is it!! Chat at you all later :)

02-28-2008, 02:36 PM
Hiya girlies

SUSAN...the weather yesterday was nice. Today it is supposed to be a little warmer, 55 I think, but right now it is a little chilly still. Ah, I am sure you will have maintained or lost that pound to 160! You are so close to being in the 150's, woohoo! :carrot:

JULES...good seeing you posting lady! And nice to hear the updates on the family. Glad you get the weekends with Teri and the baby, bet he is growing like a weed! Hope Ry likes Oregon.

MINDEE...glad the kids are feeling lots better! Let us know how Brandons first bus ride, and first day of school went.

Hello KATY, SUE, SASSY & FRANCIE! Hoping all is well with you ladies.

I am dragging for some reason...may be I stayed up until a little after one trying to finish that book and then was up at 7, ugh. For some reason though I have done fine before on that much sleep but I am sooo sleepy right now. I did get in my turbo jam this morning before heading to wally world to get groceries. Getting ready to get off my arse and do the weights & such...that will wake me up.

I started another book last night...Naughty Neighbor by Janet Evanovich...I need something not so serious sometimes. And while the book I finished last night wasn't, it just didn't hit the spot. Thinking I need a murder mystery before starting Kite Runner or Water for Elephants. We'll see. Anywho...need to get a load of laundry started as well so...didn't get it done yesterday because when I got off the computer and went upstairs for Jeopardy the electricity had gone out, ugh! Was out for almost 3 hours and once I heard sirens right after it happened I figured it was a wreck. About a mile around the corner, on the main street somehow a car plowed into the electrical line and box.

Have a great day!

02-28-2008, 03:28 PM
Cristina - I was surprised to see it was 60 here yesterday, I am w/ Jules. I so can not wait til Spring time!
Is Water for Elephants a good book? I think I will put a hold on it at the library. I have 3 Shopaholic (meaning by the same author, I don't think they are all shop books.) that I have now, reading Shop & Sister and feeling guilty that it has no more meaning but a fun thing to read. lol
I managed to stay up til mid night reading, almost made it thru 1/2 way!

anyway - hope you catch up on your rest !! :) Hugs to you.

02-28-2008, 04:08 PM

OK - big surprise here, but I've also read Water for Elephants and I liked it, too. Not nearly as intense as Kite Runner, but not light-hearted either. Very good. I haven't read the shopaholic books, but may put them on hold as I need some lighter fare. I am slogging through a Short History of Nearly Everything. It's pretty good, but I in no way have time to finish before book group next week. Yikes!

Good news - I went to pilates today and my back is feeling so much better. My tummy muscles feel firmer also - yay! I am still at 178, where I've pretty much been since Christmas...TOM is happening, so maybe after that blows through I'll be able to lose few.

Jules - sorry to hear about Dave and his troubles. Teri is fortunate to have such a good support system while she figures all this out and adjusts to motherhood. I love seeing pictures of Nick - he is cute!

Susan- gl on the job hunt, and wtg on the weight loss! Isn't this weather great?

Mindee - glad the kids are feeling better - how did school go today?

Cristina - glad your power's back on...what a bummer.

Sassy - we have a 1500 sq ft house and utilities run about 200 for gas and electric. Parts of the house are as well insulated, so if we can get that done at some point, our consumption will go down. Our electricity rates have gone up and are going to increase yet's such a racket. I'm glad we have natural gas heat, or our bills would really be through the roof.

Sue -wtg on staying OP! I've been keeping my calories under control but I have to admit I have indulged in the thin mints over the last two days. Well, it's that time of the month what can I say.....

I am going to finish up my test knit project this afternoon. Then it's early dinner and off to swimming. I'll be there tonight, Susan, so maybe I'll see you there....

02-29-2008, 01:47 AM
well, we managed to make it through the first day of school without any problems! I took him out to the bus and got him on it, and he didn't even cry! he just smiled and stuck his thumb in his mouth! I stepped off the bus and walked towards the apartment. I turned around to wave at him as the bus took off, and he was too busy staring out the other side of the bus!

He got out of school at 11:36 and a little bit before noon, the phone rang and it was his teacher. She called to let us know that he did great! he was nothing but smiles when he got off the bus until the time he got on the bus. She said that he was very good and did amazingly well! He got off the bus at 12:10 or so, and he was nothing but smiles! Tommy took some pictures of me getting him on the bus and getting him off the bus. He had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back!

this is working out great! he was already more talkative when he got home from school. he even had some projects in his back pack that they did! and he was so excited that he got to put them on the fridge! he even got to pick out dinner for his first day of school. He picked out smoked sausage, pork and beans, and angel hair pasta. (he loves his pork and Tommy had to make two cans!) I even made him some cookies for his first day of school.

Poor thing came home from school, had a little bit of a stomboli that I had made for us for lunch and fell asleep. He woke himself up when he went into a coughing spell on the couch. but he was so exhausted that he fell asleep at we are off to do it again on Friday. we will be working more with him on his schedule and getting us all into it! Tuesday will be a little bit crazy because at some point we will have to go grocery shopping.

(I put the pictures up on my myspace) I will try and get a chance to post them on here somewhere. I did some major cleaning while Brandon was in school on Thursday. I got plenty of clothes for the boys, Marissa and some other sizes to give to my mom. I hadn't had a chance to go through them yet, and figured then was as good a time as ever. I will finish going through them when he is in school on Friday. Logan is bored now that Brandon is in school.....he will play with Marissa, but then when she lays down to take a nap he is up my butt......or by daddy.

02-29-2008, 04:14 AM
Hola Girls.

Well this week has gone FAST for me anyways. Of course my week is only 3 nights, but that is 3 long nights. lol. I was soooooooo sleepy yesterday morning I think I fell straight asleep as soon my head hit the pillow!!! Then DH & I didn't get up until 7:30!!! :faint: Ah well it is our night off.........

Well I wish you all well in whatever you are doing today and this weekend. I want to get serious about some cleaning chicks. My DH's "Office" has turned into a "Storage" and it is awful!! I HATE having a room that we cannot use!!! But I am tired of looking at that mess in DH's office so I want to tackle it or at least begin to tackle it!!! lol. Wish me luck and if you don't hear from me in a few days, send someone, would ya???

02-29-2008, 01:24 PM
Hello ladies...

Dragging again today! So stinking sleepy for some reason. Maybe I have finally hit the breaking point with the exercise and my body says "NO MORE, PLEASE!"...naw, lol! Although I will be taking it easy today, unless I wake up.

SUSAN...I've not read Water For Elephants's next I think, that or Kite Runner, of the two...but those two are definitely my next two on the list to read. But our Ms Katy and others have said it is. And yes, good luck with the job hunting! Keeping my fingers crossed that you find the perfect job! :crossed: :lucky:

KATY...I've heard of that book, A Short History of Nearly Everything...not sure what it is about now though, lol. WTG on the tummy muscles feeling firmer! I hate mine and can only hope it firms up. Hey, 178 is good and at least you are not gaining...that is always good.

MINDEE...I saw the picture on myspace, so cute! Sounds like he was really excited about school. Glad you got some things doena round the house.

SASSY...hey, once you get that done come on over here...I have a room you can work on! I have so much to do in the family room, what a mess! And I guess I need to pack up Josh's stuff for him. Not sure what he will take when he leaves but it's all going somewhere! Don't over do it missy, and take breaks!

Okay, so another boring day for me. Not sure what I will be doing today other than some exercise. House is clean and laundry is done so...

Have a good one ladies! Ciao

02-29-2008, 01:59 PM
Good Morning

TGIF and all that jazz!! We survived, yay!

Mindee- Over to myspace as soon as I finish here to see little Brandon! Sounds like he did super on his 1st day of school and mommy too! :) I am glad.

Cristina - Katy will have to tell us what A short History is about. I looked it up yesterday and it just said *science* so I passed. lol I did put Water for Elephants on hold and I am still waiting for My Sisters Keeper. I have a really hard time w/ sleeping, I look horrid, tired and worn think I would be rested being off work since July. ha.

Sassy - wow, great on the cleaning!! I just move my piles from one place to another and call it good. lol Seriously.....I need to get motivated too and do some spring cleaning. :)

Katy - It was nice seeing you last night!! Very sweet for you to search me out and come and chat for a bit. I bring a book to avoid talking w/ Mike. Last week he kept asking me what the book was about and how I could read in the pool area. I wanted to hiss "if you would be quite I could read!!" haha. Anyway - Gab is going to do another Seal session , which is fine. I like the teacher she has now , wondering how much she learned w./ the 2 sessions she had w/ her last teacher. *itch *

oh, ya....TOM is over! I am just in a bad mood. Annoyed w/ Miss Becky. I had to run down 2 miles and get her this morning for school because her father had a medical appt.
Gab and I go in and Gab wants to watch Rugrats. Of course Beck has to leave for school and is snippy...."you should have gotten here earlier and she could have watched tv".. Whatever little brat it is 7:45 in the morning! Gab was all ready for school and we rushed since we woke up at 7:00.
I thought I was doing pretty good. Of course I can't get a word in edgewise and she is saying horrible things ..."are you off your meds again??" ,,,,omg- wtf. I wanted to slap her ... She doesn't back down or anything. She treats her father the same way like "you need to go to an old folks home now"....anyway - that set me in a bad mood.

Gab and I went to Starbucks and I centered myself. :cofdate: I had a coffee and bagel and she had a cream cheese container, that is all she wanted, she eats it off a spoon. What a good mommy I am , huh?? lol

Ok, weight wise,,,,,,,since this is a weight site *eyes roll*....I weighed and was 161!! I wish it was 160 or 159 .....but since it had gone back up to 162 I won't whine too much. I don't know what else I can do to lose besides *gasp* exercise:exercise: . I know I have to do that ..........I just want it warmer outside.....I don't want to be cold. lol

k- off I go............hi to everyone!!

02-29-2008, 03:52 PM
Susan - A Short History of Nearly Everything is about just what the title says it is ....only its not short! haha...well, for the amount of content, I guess it is. Right now I'm reading about the person who invented lead and just how much of it got into our atmosphere (and our bodies) via leaded gasoline and paint before the gubmint wised up and ixnayed it. Lead levels in people's blood streams went down 80% after leaded gasoline was banned...very interesting stuff. It's just a looooong book, and just not what I'm in the mood for now...I want a Sophie Kinsella book! Our next book group book is The Language of Baklava by Diana Abu-Jaber and it looks really good....I'll let you know how that one goes.

Cristina - thx about the abs...I went to a cardio class today and I could definitely tell a back was not hurting nearly as much and the ab workout was much easier. I am definitely going to be keeping pilates in the mix for awhile.

Sassy - We'll call out the troops for you if we don't hear from you for a couple of days, lol! You will feel so good once that room is cleaned up...that's how I feel I after I take on big project like that. We are not big spenders, so I don't know how we manage to let so much junk accumulate, but it does.

Mindee - Yay Brandon! What a big boy...I'm heading over to myspace to check out the pictures next.

Hi to everyone else! Today is another busy one...We are off to basketball class soon, then to the school to play on the playground until chess club is over. Then DS has fencing tonight. Tomorrow is an all-day chess tournament, so I will post later this weekend. Have a good one, Ladies

02-29-2008, 06:33 PM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....I managed to get through all the boxes of stuff that had been sitting on the porch. I have the things that we are keeping all put away. I have a lot of stuff for my mom, for either her friend's little boy or my sister Robyn's goddaughter due in July. Which is awesome! I even have a car seat and a smaller bag of stuff to go to a friend on Sunday. We are going to go visit my mom tomorrow to take her the stuff. Tommy got a call today from the temp agency and they have a job for him starting Monday. The hours are 4am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, and Saturday if needed. So, that will help out!

The kids are doing a lot better. They are finishing their prelone today, the steroid for their lungs. Marissa will finish her amoxicilan on Sunday and the boys will finish theirs on Wednesday. Other then that they are doing well. Logan was a pita today......even after Brandon got home from school! He didn't take a nap at all.....which is a major issue when he acts up!

03-01-2008, 10:54 AM
One of my coworkers is in a book club and she lets me read hers when she's done. My faves were "The Kire Runner", "Memoirs of a Geisha" and there was another set in England during the black plague that was actually very good though I don't remember the title. I finished reading a James Patterson and started on another but I can't get into it. I had to stop by the library to get some tax forms and a Julie Garwood Book was calling my name. Yes, I still love a little bit of mindless romantic fluff now and then.

Teri has been staying Thursday nights until Sunday nights. Both of them are crashed out. She says Ry helps alot more than she thought that he would but she likes coming home and getting taken care of and actually getting sound sleep since she knows Jerry and I are here to take care of the baby.
The boy has grandpa wrapped!!

I rearranged Teri's old room yesterday while the bab napped and threw some stuff out. We are going to paint and put in some new carpet and either add a crib for the baby or get a daybed with a pull out trundle that makes it a double bed for them both to sleep on. Going to work on Ry's old room and get rid of more stuff--his room has become a junky storage room I hate to say.

Mindee-Teri's friend Jaime is pregnant and had some problems with some spotting which she had to go to the emergency room--turns out they heard TWO heartbeats. Teri is saving her baby stuff for her. Our friends sister is having twins too. The pics on myspace are so cute!! Brandon looks like he enjoyed it. Logan will be wanting to go like his big brother.

Katy--I don't know when you find the time to read with knitting and going to the gym and taking the kids for all their activities--you are one busy woman!! My son and some of his friends play chess--several of them have really nice sets. I always liked it--neither hubby and daughter got into it. I used to play my Dad alot.

SuzyQ--why do teens have to be so bratty!! Ry is so excited. I think he needs the move. He wants a change--he said moving to Hagerstown and getting out of his comfort zone was the start but he wants more. Teri and I think it's about moving away from Alicia--they hae a very dysfunctional relationship at this point--they are broke up but it isn't a clean break. They have been doing this for over 5 years and as much as I love Alicia, it just isn't healthy anymore. And I would much rather get advice from you than Dr Phil. I just don't care for him.

Cristina--I am going to have to check out the Water for Elephants book everyone keeps talking about. I like thought provoking books but I love a good murder mystery. Books are my escape and a way to have my brain unwind and destress so I do tend to pick more fast and easy reads. There are days that after having to answer everyones questions all day I don't feel like thinking at all except Jeopardy--hubby and I watch it together.

Sassy--we must be on the same track--I finished organizing Teri's old room and next will be Ry's old room which you can barely walk through due to all the boxes. I will finish that today and tomorrow.

Well hubby wants me to run to the post office to see if his part came!!

03-01-2008, 02:14 PM
Hiya ladies...

JULES...I will be working on Josh's room. I asked him what he wanted done with his stuff and he said he would worry about it when he gets home. Ummm, I don't think so, lol. If you are getting married and out of the house you are taking your stuff with you, lol. Does that sound mean? Half of it is stuff he doesn't want, he just doesn't want to deal with sorting thru it. Glad Teri is enjoying being pampered. Hey, I too like a good murder mystery!'s not just teenagers. I'm having my own little drama with Miss Drama queen herself. They are not even married yet and she's already started, ugh! I am going to run away! Wanna go with me? I'll have to bring DD and you can bring Gaby. If only. Hugs missy, don't know why kids have to be mean.

SASSY...enjoy your weekend!

KATY...sometimes I find science interesting...I definitely need to be in the right frame of mind though to read it.

MINDEE...I forgot to go look at the pictures...I saw the one you are using but didn't see the rest. Will head over there in a few minutes even though I was trying to stay away, lol.

Nothing much going on today. Going to watch Superbad later...supposed to be really funny. Have laundry to get done and some reading. V is working today, but then that's not new...he is always working. The stupid thing is the company just announced that the overtime will start again in March. What? Lol...that company is so messed up. One week they say NO overtime at all. Then they say we will move a plane every 4 days, lol! Then they realize ain't no planes moving in 4 days without overtime. Then they say no overtime...then by June they realize they are not going to get the 300+ planes sold and out the door by Jan 1 and so we gotta get working, lol! This has been going on for 8 years now, no I think V has been there about 12. So messed up. Okay, so starting to babble...take care ladies.

Have a wonderful weekend!

03-01-2008, 04:16 PM
Good Afternoon -

Quickie!! I have laundry going and it should be done, if I don't get there right when the machine stops I think someone is going to *gasp* touch my underwear....some perv no doubt w/ a trench coat.....hmmm, so why am I hurrying>>>lol.....

Hi to Katy, Mindee, Jules and Miss Cristina!!!

Never watched Superbad Cristina!!

Kay - you sound way busy w/ the kids!! I am taking Gab swimming today.

Mindee - hugs to the kids, how they are feeling better!!

k-- said it was a quickie!! lol I made 160! yipeeeee. Have Gab til 3 and her father will pick her up. I will make my mad dash transformation from Mommy to Tart and fo see my McDreamy who is busy studying his recipe books on what to make for dinner. lol He is so sweet.

k- chat at u later!!

03-01-2008, 05:12 PM
Cristina--I know about drama from our children's so's...maybe me, Teri & Nick will join you/dd & SuzyQ/Gaby. Hubby totally agrees with you on the kids stuff storage...

SuzyQ--the kids worry too--the laundry is just across the street and they have the timing down perfect. Have fun getting mcsteamy with mcdreamy!!

Hi to everyone else--hope everyone is having a great weekend.

03-01-2008, 09:08 PM
Hey Gang.

Well my big plans of cleaning out DH's office went out the window. lol. He is sick and has been home yesterday AND now today. So I am just putting it off until next weekend.........:p

So as you can suspect, not much has got accomplished AT ALL! lol. But oh well he dealt with me being home with my back out, so I guess I have to deal with him being home sick. lol.

Wow my mom just told me she asked her dr for the anti-smoking drug. I told her to be careful with it though because I've heard bad side effects from it. She said she hasn't gotten it yet and its expensive. (she has no insurance) I said that Wellbutrin does the same thing and has a generic. Our dr has given that to my DH before and it does work, if you stay on it long enough, dh did not. I take Wellbutrin for depression and have for a while and I've had absolutely no problems with it, I'd rather her take that than the other stuff. My mom has been smoking a long time, so this is HUGE!!! :D

She also said that if she flunks her CNA skills test that she has to take in front of the state, she gets out of the $1200 "contract" her work made her sign and she will then move up here. So I told her, "I hope you flunk!!!" lol.

Big

03-02-2008, 04:56 PM
Good Afternoon -

Sassy - I will wish your mother to flunk too :) I guess it is one way to get out of the contract!! lol

Made it to 159! I weighed last night, and it was even close to 158, yippeee.

Didn't weigh this morning because I ate late. Had a wonderful dinner w/ McDreamy along with his cheesebread.

I have just been really thirsty so am going to make sure I drink a lot of water this week. Need to go to the store and get some more slim fast, chicken, veggies, and cottage cheese, apples, veggies.....what else?? Oh shampoo, but I don't eat that - funny.

Get Gab back at 2pm!! So better run, chat tomorrow!

03-02-2008, 07:30 PM
Wow-we!!! It is 59 degrees here!!! :sunny: Does that mean I can officially get out my shorts??? :D lol. I know, don't hold my breath, right? lol.

Too darn bad I can't go anywhere or do anything because of sicky, oops DH. lol. He called off tonight too. He goes to the dr on Tuesday.

Susan -- Yeah who would have though that she could get out of a contract by just flunking? :woohoo: on the 159!!! Wow I can only dream of that #! lol. But I'll see it, no worries, just may take me a month or two longer! Well at least I am keeping my "sense of humor" lol. Ya know I think after I drink this last pop, and yes I said the "P" word, that is gonna be it, no more pop. I know I will have headaches from you know where, but I gotta do it. I am basically drinking away calories!!! Plus the fact that all the crapola in it is not good me!!! It is just so darn addicting!!! I also need to go to the grocery and get some "good" snack foods.

Hi Everybody!!! I hope your all doing well!!!

Lastnight we was watching My First house and they were in Hawaii!!! Holy Moly are houses expensive there!!! This couple wanted to stay below $400,000. The house they got wasn't much, lemme tell ya. Here a $400,000 house would be a mansion!!! There its only a "shack" lol. I guess that is the price of living in "paradise" eh? lol. Well I hope you all are enjoyin the warm weather -- if you got it and if you don't -- no worries, it will come soon!!! :)

Big

hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.......just enjoying some quiet me time before heading off to take a shower and head to bed! Tommy starts his new job in the morning, and so that is an awesome thing! Brandon has school, and Logan and Marissa will be here with me.

We went to Old Country Buffet for dinner on Sunday night......NEVER again will we do that! Logan was a major pain in the rear end! I didn't get a chance to really sit and enjoy my food.....BUT that is kind of a God send since I didn't have to sit there and keep piling my plate over and over again! Plus, I had to keep getting up to get different things! Logan now has the nickname Roid....short for hemorrhoid. Since he is always under my feet now that Brandon is in school!

We now no longer have to keep hearing the words " have three cute boys!" from strangers when we are out! We got Marissa's ears pierced while we were up north visiting my parents. She looks really cute with them in her ears! I will have to take a picture of her when I get a chance. She hates that I have to turn them but she is doing better! She still tries to play the sympathy card and says "owwww" every now and then.

Jules~ I saw the new pictures of Nick! He is getting so big!!!! I was going through a box of stuff for Brandon and Logan, and found this cute shirt that says "my fingers may be small, but I've got Grandpa wrapped around them." Funny you should mention about Logan wanting to go. On Brandon's first day of school, Logan happened to be awake. So, he came out into the living room while we got Brandon all together. When I came back in from putting Brandon on the bus, Logan was trying to hand me his coat to put on him so that he could go on the bus. We know so many people that are pregnant these days.......and it seems like they are having girls! That is very exciting about all the twins!

Cristina~ Yup, I actually added some other ones to that folder as well! Every body makes fun of me because I take so many pictures......but I don't want to miss anything!

SusieQ~ They are feeling much better!! Brandon still has a little bit of a cough, but thankfully they are all doing much better!!!

Sassy~ I will wish that your mom flunks as well! Good luck with her quitting smoking too! My parents were trying that when I was 16 or mom started back smoking when she found out some details....and she hasn't really slowed down since!

I gotta make this short.....I have to still get in the shower and head to bed. and some time during the day tomorrow, I have to make a grocery list/dinner planning for us for the month.
