Hey everyone! My name is Lindsay. I have just registered and signed up on the 3fatchicks website. I am 26 y/o. I am a nurse. I live in Pooler, Ga. I know no one knows where that is, it is a suburb of Savannah, GA. My cousin emailed this website to me. I think it is great. I am hoping that y'all will help me in losing the weight I gained in nursing school. I am hoping to get married in the next year (haven't gotten the ring yet, but it's on the way) and want to look GREAT on my wedding day. I currently weigh 166.5 and my goal is 130. I have a major sweet tooth, but my biggest weakness is eating out. I hate and don't know how to cook. So, my boyfriend and I eat out almost everyday. I know when I order what I should get, but still end up making the poor decision. I am having a time trying to learn this website. Can you please tell me how to get my weight loss scale to show up? Also, is there a way to keep up with my caloric intake on this website? Thanks for all your help and I look foward to getting to know you.
Welcome welcome! I think it takes a few weeks for new members to be able to put up those scale bars in their signatures (I'm waiting for mine too). When you start seeing the signature option on your User CP page, you're ready. You then click on someone else's bar to take you to the site they used (3FC has them, and so does tickerfactory.com which is what I use on my blog cause they have different kinds of measurements available), and from there you can pick your labels and graphics. You then cut and paste the HTML code you get from creating the ticker into the signature box on your UserCP. At least, that's what I imagine you do based off my experience on other forums, since I of course can't do it yet here.
So - If you don't want to change eating out - and you say you go for the 'poor decision' - could you maybe ask them to doggie bag half your meal before they even serve it to you? That way - you could eat what you want, just eat less?
I saw your post and had to reply, because it was like me talking!!! I got married two years ago, I had reached my goal weight of 130! I started out about where you are now, maybe a bit higher, I wasn't too into scales obviously I still want to lose a little more, I LOVED the book BUFF BRIDES by Sue Fleming, I used it for a few months before the big day. I will try to attach a pic here so you can see my results. I swear by this book, I just bought her BUFF MOMS TO BE, just so I have it when the time comes!
Right now, though I am totally into Push.tv! Bob from the biggest loser is my trainer! You can check out the website.
Anywho! sorry for the rant. Good luck with everything, I'm sure you will do great!
Yah, going to places that you know have healthier choices helps. If you need help adjusting to healthier choices, you can try things like portion control (box up half your meal at the start, don't let yourself eat it on the way home!) or by ordering a healthy thing plus a small appetizer or side dish to share (so you won't feel like you're being deprived), or going to places where you can get a 1/2 sandwich or soup with a salad. Just be careful with the dressing. Just use a little less each time and you'll grow to appreciate the taste of the veggies, nuts, whatever, instead of the dressing itself. You can also bring your own dressing, since restaurants often don't offer nonfat/lowfat options, people seem to like those sprays and they are really low calorie and fat.
I read somewhere else that you can get your ticker after 30 days or 30 posts! So start posting! An easy way is to say hello to new people and congratulate people who have made their goals.
I'm also waiting for my ring and want to lose to weight first so I can go try on dresses at my goal weight and for engagement photos as well. Seems easier to get it out of the way first! Good luck!
