It's February and here we are with another healthy month!
Everyone is invited to post with us. We follow WW and mostly weigh in on Thursdays. :):):)
I've gained a pound and plan on losing it plus the one I need for my tracker.
Hopefully, we can make it through Valentine's Day with little upset. Remember that we all have our 35 flex points! :D
02-02-2008, 09:42 PM
Hello everyone!! I am enjoying our trip so much already. Bob is eating better, which has been so much of a concern. He is cold all the time, and I wonder if that is from some of his meds. Last night he was sitting here with his coat on and a blanket over him. We took a couple of nice walks today.
Tomorrow we are going to church, then we are going to the grocery. We've eaten out, and I feel I've done ok, especially after getting weighed earlier. I was the same! Pleasantly surprised.
Tina, you'll get rid of that pound soon. The restaurant here where we are staying is having a special Valentine's Day meal. Not sure if we'll do that or not. How is Larry feeling??
02-03-2008, 12:03 AM
Tammy, it's so good to hear from you. I was wondering how things were going. I'm glad Bob is going to church with you. (It sounds like he's going.)
Please tell us all about your condo!
Larry is doing great. He seems better every day. When I think about how weak and bad he was just 4 weeks ago, it's such a blessing that he's doing so well. He had a phone conference with his boss. She said that as soon as he gets the "okay" from a doctor, he can start working from home!
I don't mind driving him any place, but, that will be nice letting him work here, until he can drive again. (He's got to get the collar off and have therapy on his neck before driving again.)
How is everyone else doing????
02-03-2008, 09:28 AM
Doing well on this end. We celebrated Teresa's 2nd birthday yesterday. I indulged just a little and I'm not sure I'll be doing much better today with it being Super Bowl. I will try my best though. If I don't do well, I will be back on plan first thing Monday morning. I'm looking forward to a loss this week. We'll see when Thursday comes. :)
Tina - Glad to hear that Larry is doing well. All I can say is God is good.
Tammy - I hope Bob gets to feeling better. I hate being cold and I can only imagine how it is for him. Continue to enjoy your vacation.
02-03-2008, 10:12 AM
Yes, Bob is going with me. I wish he would do that at home though. The condo is nice. It is an end unit, so no one on one side of us. When you walk in the door, there is a foyer with a small table with a mirror above it. Very welcoming. To the left and back is the bedroom. It has a queen size bed (we are used to a king, so this has been interesting), 2 nightstands, a chest of drawers, and a large closet with shelving at one end. The bathroom is off the bedroom. It is a bit small and has a very loud vent! Back at the foyer if you go through the opening, you enter the living area. It is nice. Sofa, chair, end tables and coffee table. The sofa has a hide-a-bed, so Tim will have a bed when he comes to visit. This room is open to the dining area and the kitchen. There is a breakfast bar between the dining and kitchen, but there aren't any stools. The kitchen is nice - full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, cupboards. At the back of this large area are windows and sliding doors to the patio. There are a couple of chairs and a small table out there. From our patio, we can see trees and a playground area. I haven't seen any kids here, so I don't think it will be used much.
There are laundry rooms in a couple of the buildings here, but there isn't one in ours. It isn't that far to walk though.
The unit above ours is getting new carpet, so that was noisy yesterday and already this morning. Hope they get finished today.
That is great that Larry will be able to work from home! And I am so thankful that he is feeling better!!!!!!!
Dori, happy birthday to Theresa! I forgot all about the super bowl! I know there are a few places here on the island having parties, but I don't think we'll be going to any. Bob can watch the game here, and I can always read or something. Who are you rooting for in the game?
Matt Light, who plays for the Patriots, is from close to home. His mother was Tim's elementary music teacher.
I guess I need to get a shower and get ready for church. Have a great day everyone!!!
02-03-2008, 05:53 PM
Dori, I'm so glad the party went well. How was the Mexican food? :)
Tammy, your condo sounds great! How soon will Tim get to come down there? Oh, I hope his cold went away quickly.
Susan, how are the little animals? :)
Kelly, Cdonley, Nikki---let us know what's going on.
Maureen, how is Canada?
Thanks to everyone for their well wishes for Larry.
I guess we'll watch a little of The Game. We don't care about NY Giants. I think Larry wants New England to continue their streak.
I am going to make some hot cheese dip to go with our baked chips.
Hope everyone keeps having a good day.
02-04-2008, 10:32 PM
Tina, Tim will be here on the 21st, and he'll leave the 24th. Looking forward to having him here. Planning to have a couple home-cooked meals while he is here. I know he misses my spaghetti. lol
Bob watched part of the game, but he was flipping back and forth between stations.
Today we got up and took a nice walk. Once we got back to the condo, I wasn't feeling very well. I spent most of the day sleeping. I think it's partially from the fibromyalgia. Maybe the driving and riding finally caught up with me. Bob made supper, and then he went to do laundry. I walked over to the laundry room and back since I was feeling a bit better. I'm sure I'll be in bed early tonight.
02-05-2008, 01:37 PM
did everyone miss me?????
Evidently not since only Tammy wrote last night!
I couldn't connect to the internet yesterday or this morning!!!! Talk about panic.:o
It turned out to be a bad phone jack. The guy fixed it in no time today. Now I'm baaack!
Tammy, I am sure you are feeling the driving and all. Please stay in bed and sleep today and take it easy. I'm so glad Bob cooked and washed for y'all.
Let me know how you're feeling today.
Where is everyone!
02-05-2008, 09:34 PM
Tina, don't you hate it when you can't get online?? I have started coughing now, and my whole body aches. We went away for a while today, but we came back sooner than we wanted since I wasn't feeling well. It was a beautiful day, and I feel like we totally wasted it since I felt yucky. Tim called earlier, but we couldn't talk long. He is going to call back about 11:00, but I don't know if I can stay awake that long. The cold medicine I took made me feel worse, so I don't know what to take now. I don't want to be sick! I want to go places!!!!
We ended up ordering a pizza for supper. We ended up throwing most of it away. It was really greasy. We won't be getting one from there again. I should have just had soup or something.
I agree. Where is everyone???
02-06-2008, 03:19 PM
I agree. Where is everyone??? Hola! Long time no talk!
The weeks are flying and suddenly I think, has it really been over a week since I posted?
Tammy - Hope you are feeling better. We've got a bit of the cough/cold yuckiness going around our house too. Hopefully you will feel better so you can go places!
Not much else going on here - I'm actually headed to my meeting today since it is a day off. My eating has been good - but the exercising is lacking! I guess I just need to get up earlier - because I'm beat at the end of the day. Night-time exercising doesn't work for me right now! :dizzy:
02-06-2008, 03:52 PM
I just signed up on 3 fat chicks today, I also started back to ww last month. And I weigh in on Thursdays, so I guess this is where I need to be. Hello everyone!
02-06-2008, 06:58 PM
:bday2: Dori :celebrate:
cdonley, I agree about time flying by. Good for you with your eating. Night is not my time to exercise, either. I've got to be fresh. :)
dali, welcome to our group!!!!! We are so glad you found us. Please join in and enjoy the fun here. We also have a Weigh-In Results thread.
Kelli and Nikki, I miss y'all. What's up?
Susan, how are you feeling? How is Pat doing?
Tammy, I hope you feel better and are having a blast. Hopefully your weather is good.
Larry graduated from rehab today.:carrot: When his soft collar comes off, he'll need more. That might be in another two weeks. We hope!
02-06-2008, 11:15 PM
Tina - Thanks. Still doing good even though we've had 2 birthdays. I'm looking for a loss tomorrow morning.
Tammy - Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling that well. Hope you're better in no time.
CDonley - I know what you mean about the exercising lacking. Perhaps I'll get it together one day. :)
Dali - Welcome!! We're glad to have you.
02-07-2008, 08:57 PM
cdonley, I agree about the night time exercising except when I'm doing the water aerobics class at the Y. I'll be ready to get back into that.
I have been getting up and walking while we've been gone until today. The Nyquil really knocked me out, so I slept late today, which was a good thing. I finally took a walk about noon. I've taken some daytime cold meds today, and Bob and I both think I'm sounding better. Nyquil again at bedtime!
Welcome to Dali! We are almost neighbors! Well, I live in Ohio, so that's close!
It sprinkled a little on our way home from supper tonight, but the rest of the day was beautiful. breezy. Yesterday it was in the 80's so we really enjoyed that!
Dori, have you ever been to the outlet mall at Darien? We were thinking about driving up there one day. I know it isn't far from here. There's a plantation place between Brunswick and Darien that Bob would like to go see too. We'll do that when I'm feeling better. I'm glad we are here for the month and not just a week cause I sure have felt icky the past few days.
Tina, congrats to Larry!!!! I know when Bob was "released" from his therapy, it was such a relief!
02-07-2008, 10:22 PM
I seem to get lost at the beginning of each month. Sorry!!!!
Well nothing really new here. Pat has had the bug that's going around. Out of my class of 2, one has had it. My assistant has had it. A mom has had and now...... guess who has it???? ME!!!! I got to school today only to leave at 9 this morning. I wouldn't have gone in but with my kids being so unique change is hard. Plus they can't get subs. One of my friends came in and watched my student, since one was out. She pulled her kids and had them come in so she could watch my one student. I still feel lousy but I think I will go tomorrow because of course no subs, my assistant is going to be out and one of my students. So it will just be me and my girl......
The guinea pigs are doing good. I think the momma might be pregnant since she was exposed to the male when they got dumped off. I sure hope she isn't but I guess we will know soon enough.
02-08-2008, 11:48 AM
You guys are so much nicer than the message boards on WW. You guys are very welcoming. I can't wait to get to know you all better. Hope everyone does well this upcoming week on the plan!:carrot:
02-08-2008, 03:01 PM
It's Friday and you know what that means------watch out for the pizza! Okay, I'm a little whacky today.
It's beautiful weather here.
Dali, you say the nicest things. I haven't been to the WW boards in ages. Years ago (maybe 11), it seemed lots different. I left there and found this great place.
Please tell us about you.
I am Tina :D, mother of a grown son and wife of a great guy. I reached Lifetime in '93 but haven't been down to that goal weight in quite some time. :o
Susan, I'm so sorry you're sick. It does make it hard when your helper is out sick. If you went to work today, I hope you felt a little better.
Tammy, you need to get well, too. Of course, this is a vacation and time to relax.
Hope everyone else is well!!!
02-08-2008, 10:41 PM
Tina, I like pizza!! lol We had one the other night that was so greasy that we threw alot of it out. I might have said that in another message. It is very nice here too. Close to 70 and sunshine. I like that!! I keep thinking the warmer weather will help me deal with this colder better than the cold weather at home. Psyching myself out.
I think all of us need to go to that spa somewhere! Those who are sick can get better, and those who aren't sick can help us get better!!!
I just posted a little loss on the weigh in thread! I know it isn't Thursday, but heck, a loss is a loss!
Tim called this afternoon. He said that around our house there really isn't much flooding. In other areas around though, there is quite a bit of flooding. He had gone to check things out, went for a haircut, and picked up mail at the post office. He's going to mail us any important things, you know, like million dollar checks! lol
We checked into a casino boat today that leaves from a few miles from here. We thought that we might do that some day. This week we really haven't done much because of this silly cold, so I've got big plans for when I'm feeling better!!!! I mean, there is a mall in this town, and I haven't been IN it yet!!!
02-08-2008, 11:57 PM
Tammy hasn't been to the mall yet!?!?!?!!! Boy, girl, you have been sick.
I hope you feel better quickly.
I'm sorry that I haven't heard about the flooding in Ohio. But, I'm glad your house was okay.
02-09-2008, 03:24 PM
Well, let's see. I am 29. I have lived my entire life in Lexington, KY. I am a video technician (so basically I sit and edit people's home movies all day). I have never been married and I have no kids. I do have a few nieces, they seem like my children. I am interested in photography. I love stand up comedy and I LOVE to travel. I am trying to lose 30 pounds by my trip to Italy on March 29th. I am at 12 pounds right now. If there is anything else you wanna know, just ask.
02-09-2008, 05:43 PM
Dali, Welcome to the group!!! We do like to have fun!!! Plus we are a very supportive group. ........ It doesn't necessarily have to be weight loss that we support each with. There are several us that have been through a lot together such as children graduating, retiring, birth of children, losses, surgeries.... the list could go on. We do find lots to laugh at along the way! So we are glad you are here to join us!!
Tina, how is Larry feeling? Can you believe that Tammy hasn't been to the mall? I do think that cold has gotten to her!!!
Tammy, When is Tim coming? I know you miss him!!!! Did you win enough money to buy Tina and I a BIG present or better yet..... a trip someplace.
I'm feeling better. Still not great, but better. Pat still feels horrible. We are a pretty pitiful pair. We did get out for a ride and to our FAVORITE PIZZA place back where we use to live. We go there and it's such a treat.
Well, I think I'm off to visit the recliner or the couch for a little while. I might be visiting with my eyes shut. :)
Oh, Amy is still alive. She has been sick with her asthma. It's been REALLY bad. I think she probably should have been in the hospital, but what do I know. I just play like I'm a doctor.
02-09-2008, 05:44 PM
I hadn't heard about the flooding either. I hope all is ok!!!!
02-10-2008, 01:14 PM
Man, it is windy outside. I just went for a walk. I think I have frostbite on my face haha. How is everyone doing with their exercising? I have been slacking but I walked almost 4 miles today. Hopefully I can keep it up.
02-10-2008, 02:24 PM
Hello everyone! Check out this site. www.jekyllisland.com/islandtreasures/
Yesterday we were walking on the beach, and I found one of the floats!! Our picture should be on their website soon. I was so excited!!! I had wanted to buy one last year, but the cost held me back ($65-70!!!) I keep trying to get out into the sunshine thinking it will help get rid of this cold. I think this has gone on long enough.
We are going for a drive later today, not sure where. My goal for the week is to get inside that mall!!!
Susan, we haven't been on the boat yet. Not sure when we will go to gamble. Soon!! Tim will be here on the 21st. Looking forward to having him here. Did the pizza help you feel better???
Tina, maybe you guys should come and help me make it to the mall!!!
Bob is doing laundry, and I'm cooking lunch (while I'm on the computer!).
02-11-2008, 01:58 PM
Tammy, how exciting about the float. When I lived in Kodiak, AK people were finding them all the time. They can be pricey if you purchase them from someone.
I thought I would let you all know that I'm participating in the March for Babies Walk, formerly known as March of Dimes Walk, in honor or my nephew. If you don't mind, please consider donating to this worthy organization. You can go here to donate http://www.marchforbabies.org/forethanwilliam. Thank you in advance.
02-11-2008, 08:50 PM
Ok, I had a message all ready to hit send and my battery came out of my laptop. Boo!!!!!
We had a staff dev. day so it of course was a waste of time. This afternoon we got out early so I called my trainer and she met me early. It was nice to be finished early and then home. I had a little down time too.
Tammy, that's cool about the floater. I've never heard of such things. I live such a sheltered life! :) Find one for me now.... :) I know Tina would like one too!
Dori, I'm sorry I can't give to the March of Dimes..... it's a personal thing, long story too. I did do the walk right after my son passed away and my family all walked in his memory. That's cool that you are walking for your nephew. Was he a premie?
Tina, are you getting rain down your way? It's suppose to start tonight here and then a cold front is suppose to blow in.
Dali, how are you doing? How is that frost bite? :)
02-11-2008, 09:24 PM
the frostbite is better haha. But we are getting some awesome snow right now, so I am sure walking won't be an option tomorrow. I will have to do workout videos. How are you?
02-11-2008, 09:29 PM
I'm doing good. I'm impressed that you tried to walk in the cold. Us Texans don't do well in the cold. I'm ready for spring. However, I do act like a kid when it snows here, I go from window to window. How much snow do you have?
02-11-2008, 09:53 PM
auntie we have over an inch but it just started. They said 3-6 inches with sleet on top of that. So it will make for an interesting commute to work.
02-11-2008, 11:27 PM
My internet connection has been down since Saturday morning. Boy, talk about withdrawal!!!!! There was a wire outside that had to be replaced.
We have some irate squirrels that live around here. They were probably the culprits.
I've been reading all the posts.
Boy, am I tired!!! I've got to do so much more right now. Well, I have to do everything right now. I really, really appreciate my husband now. He is so much better but still not "out of the woods."
I'll write more tomorrow when I'm actually awake.
Susan, tell Miss Amy that I miss her and to get well.
02-13-2008, 08:54 PM
Dori, the float really is pretty. I can't wait to put it on a shelf at home and just sit and stare at it!! We went to the outlet mall at Darien the other day. Hit the Reebok store and did very well! I wanted to hit some of the other shops, but hubby wasn't feeling the best so we came back to Jekyll. I may go back up another day before we leave.
Susan, you sound like my friend Melissa. She told me to find floats for her and Carol too. lol
Tina, I stood and watched a squirrel on the patio today. I was cracking up at him. Bob thought I was a bit nuts, but he was cute!
Dali, how's the ice and snow? I know at home it has been pretty nasty. We live northwest of Dayton, OH. Our son said last night that he can't wait to get down here for a visit next week.
I still haven't been in the mall yet! Thursday or Friday I will go!!!
02-13-2008, 10:07 PM
It snowed even more today. but most had melted off because it rained all day. I have no idea what the weather is doing. It is just making it hard to talk on the sidewalk. But I will make it to my weigh in tomorrow. I have a feeling I am going to have a gain. :( but I guess we all have them.
02-13-2008, 11:11 PM
Brrr....dali, I don't like cold weather.
Tammy, You are so lucky to find one of those floats. I can't wait to see your photo on that site. How long is it before they'll have it up?
I'm so tired tonight. I stay that way.
I'm afraid I won't be moving my fish tomorrow. I have been losing the pounds that I gained back. So no gain or loss won't be too bad.
02-13-2008, 11:45 PM
How horrible to have no internet!!! I'm glad that Larry is doing well. You will need a vacation when he returns to normal.
Dali, we get mostly ice, sleet and a little snow around here. They have it in the forecast for Friday which means it won't. They are always wrong.
Tammy, having fun?????
Pat is still sick with the flu bug. He sounds horrible. Not sure if he is going to go to the dr.
02-14-2008, 10:58 AM
Happy Valentine's Day
I hope you all get something special today.
Larry gave me a box of Russell Stover miniatures, my favorite. They are so tiny that it's very easy to keep eating them. :o
Let's all try to remember that it's okay to enjoy candy today. We are not frowned at or berated for eating it.
Just remember to allow enough points for it! And, we have flex points, my all time favorite thing.
02-14-2008, 10:07 PM
Tina, I was wondering the same thing about the picture. I thought maybe they just put them on once a week or something. Bob said we might stop in and ask when we go past there.
Susan, I'm having fun, but I know I'll have more fun if I ever stop coughing! I just took some Nyquil. I do not like that stuff!! Today I took a 3 hour nap. That's 2 days in a row that I've done that. I guess I needed the sleep.
Tina, I didn't have candy, but I did have a scoop of ice cream again. Getting to be a habit.
Tomorrow we are planning to drive south and investigate the small towns that are south of here. If we go too far south, we'll end up in Jacksonville, FL. It's only an hour from here, so it could happen.
Hope you have all had a great day!!
02-14-2008, 10:57 PM
Well, I have managed to eat just about anything that has NOT been tied down. I feel gross now. I guess once in a while it's ok but tomorrow I'm back at it. I'm down almost 15 pounds so I guess I can bad.
It's suppose to turn colod tomorrow. I'm ready for spring!!!!!!!!
02-15-2008, 01:58 PM
I didn't eat too much candy yesterday, but I did wait until after the weigh in before I ate anything. I tried to eat dark chocolate (I hate that stuff) I know it's better for you, but I was hoping it would make me think all chocolate tasted like that so I wouldn't want it so bad haha. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day.
02-15-2008, 03:20 PM
Ice cream sounds like a good Valentine's Day thing.
dali, I had to laugh at your idea of thinking all chocolate tasted like the dark. The dark kind isn't my favorite, either. My son and husband really like it.
Susan, I know that feeling of being stuffed. I ate way too much yesterday. I hope Pat is better.
Larry graduated to using a cane now! :):):) He picked out one that's dark blue. We saw some that were paisley. I guess that would be good for kids.
02-15-2008, 07:39 PM
Tina, our picture is finally on the website!!! Woo hoo!! Congrats to Larry on the cane! I have looked at them different times. I would choose purple.
Susan, you are doing great, so a day off won't hurt you.
Dali, I don't mind dark chocolate, but I like the other better.
We went for a nice drive today to a town south of here. My temp went up, so I ended up not wanting to do much. We may go back before we leave GA.
02-16-2008, 05:42 PM
Tammy I checked out your picture with the float, how cute. That is an awesome float too!
02-16-2008, 06:05 PM
Hey, Tammy, I love the float!!!! I'm envious. Wow, Bob has gotten really skinny.
Sorry you aren't feeling good. It sounds like you need a vacation from your vacation. How's your weather?
It's sprinkling off and on here. The weathermen are predicting tornadoes later tonight. Down here, we don't get those things. I hope they stay away. :)
Hope everyone is having a good day. It's quiet here.
Oh, I tried the new Progresso Light Soup. It says on the label that it's 0 pts. for WW. I bought the vegetables and rice kind. It was very good.
02-16-2008, 08:29 PM
Hope everyone is doing well this evening. Pat's playing and I decided to stay home. I just didn't want to be out late. Plus I could use a good night of nothing..... actually I have a ton of stuff to do but will most likely not be doing any of it.
Tammy, I love the picture!!!! It's great of you and Bob. Oh, the float is beautiful too. I think that is so cool that you found one. Sounds like you might have a touch of the flu!! Get some rest!!!!
Tina, the weather here is nasty. It's raining and cold. We are suppose to have really bad storms tonight. It probably will since I will be home alone. It always is.
Dali, how is the weather where you are?
Well, off to catch up on General Hospital for the week.
02-16-2008, 10:45 PM
I liked the picture too, even though we look a bit windblown. I am so glad that is the float that I found! I have seen others that I don't like at all, so I really lucked out!!
Tina, I agree about Bob being skinny. I emailed his nieces to prepare them for how much different he looks from when we were there last summer. He hasn't been eating much some days. He was up during the night trying not to vomit. That's what sent him to the ER in September, so he was scared to death. Well, he ended up throwing up (no blood), and he felt much better afterwards. Today he has eaten very little.
It was almost 70 and sunny here today. Beautiful! This cough is doing a number on me, and my temp was up over 100. My normal is 97.5, so that is too high for me. I'm getting ready to take Nyquil. It makes me shiver, and Bob always cracks up. Stay away from the tornadoes!!!!!
I've had some of the Progresso soups! Yummy!!
Susan, I've been sleeping quite a bit, and I really haven't done much. We are planning to hit some more history stuff tomorrow if we are both feeling ok. Hope your storms don't get too nasty tonight. Did you enjoy General Hospital?
Bob and I watched Tootsie last night. It was as funny as the first time that I saw it when it first came out. We went with Bob's older brother and his wife. That brother passed away in 1983, and it's his daughters that we'll be seeing in Tampa (as well as Bob's other 2 brothers that are weirdos).
02-17-2008, 12:16 PM
auntie, it's nice out, not cold but it is sooooo windy right now. I think the tornadoes are coming again. KY has the strangest weather. Hopefully I don't blow away when I go to the gym haha.
02-17-2008, 05:34 PM
No tornadoes here last night. We got a little rain but that was it. Yea! :)
Tammy, I hope Bob is okay today.
dali, don't blow away.
Dori, what's up with you?
cdonley, haven't heard from you in a few days.
Susan, you were wise to stay home and rest. Rest, I used to know the meaning of that word.
After church today, I was so tired that we went to Black Eyed Pea for lunch. Yummy!
Larry sees the surgeon this Thursday. And, hopefully, his work will call him tomorrow giving him the "okay" to work from home, half days. Larry is ready to get back to work.
Maybe I can nap while he's working. Hmmm...that's a thought. :)
02-18-2008, 02:30 PM
Luckily I didn't blow away. Could be because I weight over 200 pounds, because those were some strong winds. Now it is just cold. I am so ready for my vacation next month.
oh and I finally got my signature yay!!!
02-18-2008, 02:39 PM
Yea Dali, that's great about not blowing away and getting your tracker!!!!:):):):0
I love that chicken.
How's everyone doing today?
Today, Larry starts working 1/2 days from home.

yeah that little chicken looks fed up, which is how I feel about being as fluffy as I am. He's a cute one.
I am doing well today. I have started keeping track of my calories as well as my points. I am interested to see what my intake is. And I ordered a pedometer on friday. I am hoping when I see I haven't had 10,000 steps when I get home that it will motivate me to go on a walk or to the gym. How is everyone else?

Hello gang. I moved my tracker again! One thing about Bob not eating much, it's keep me from eating a bunch too, and that's a good thing! I went to convenient care today about the cough. I have a sinus infection, and I am now on an antibiotic, nasal spray (which I hate!!), and a strong cough med. I want to feel better by the time Tim gets here on Thursday!!
Bob is better today. He ate better today than yesterday. I bought some vitamins at the pharmacy, and we will both start taking them in the morning. I take them at home, but I didn't bring them along on the trip.
Tina, I'm sure Larry is ready to get back to a normal routine. Keep us posted! And go take a nap!! lol
Dali, glad to hear you didn't blow away!! Are you going anywhere special for your vacation? You might have said, but my memory stinks. I was using my pedometer when I was still teaching. It was so easy to get in the steps on those days! I try to use it when I remember to put it on.

Dali - you are super close to your short term goal! congrats. Do you have another mini goal in mind?
Tammy - Sorry to hear you are sick - yuck.
How is everyone doing day to day? I've gone over points a few days this week and it is TOM...may have a gain at this coming weigh in! =)
02-19-2008, 09:44 AM
Tammy, congrats on moving your tracker!!! I am going to Italy on March 29th. I am so excited!!
cdonley, I was going for 5% at a time. So another 5% when I hit that one, hopefully on Thursday. I had a horrible gain last week and that killed the goal reaching. But I have been exercising everyday since then and watching my points. My over all goal is 100 lbs, and I have 88 to go. Seems like a long way away, but 88 sounds better than 100. :)
02-19-2008, 07:43 PM
I like the idea of mini goals.
02-19-2008, 08:06 PM
Yeah the little goals keep me from getting discouraged. Hopefully the little goals will add up to the big one in the end. I have tried several times to lose weight, but I feel like I am really going to do it this time because of the mini goals.
02-19-2008, 09:23 PM
cdonley, you mentioned TOM, and I realized that I haven't had one since the beginning of December. Hmmm. I can only hope that maybe I won't have any more of them!
dali, are you taking all of us to Italy with you? And I agree that 88 sounds better than 100. My tracker at one time was showing 10 pound increments for my goals, but when I had my 8 pound gain between Thanksgiving and sometime in January, I changed it to the 66 pound goal. That will get me to a certain weight, and then I'll decide if I want to go lower or not.
We both felt good enough to go out for dinner tonight. I had a grilled chicken salad that was delicious. Bob had a shrimp dinner. We stopped at the little store next door to the restaurant, and I have my scoop of ice cream for a snack later. lol
Hope you are all being good!
02-19-2008, 10:25 PM
Tammy, I would love to take all of you with me. We could have so much fun. Have any of you been? I hope we will be doing a lot of walking so I can burn off all of the pasta and gelato I am going to eat. When in Rome hahaha.
I am going to a casting call for the biggest loser tis weekend, keep your fingers crossed for me. I think this would really give me the motivation I need to get healthy and stay that way. But if I don't, you guys here are sure doing a great job motivating me :) I will do it regardless.
02-19-2008, 11:20 PM
Wow, dali, I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for you. Then, we'll know a movie star. :D
Tammy, I'm so sorry you've felt so bad. I'm glad you and Bob feel better now. I've been telling David about those medi clinics. He doesn't have insurance right now and it scares me. (Seeing all of Larry's hospital and doctor expenses, I don't see how anyone can get by without insurance.) I'm glad there's someplace he could go, if he got sick.
Today is David's 34th birthday. My baby!!! He wanted seafood tonight. I was good and didn't get anything fried. I got shrimp creole. Yummy!
Susan, how are you doing?
cdonley, how are you?
Dori, what's up?
02-22-2008, 12:12 AM
Ok, I woke up this morning thinking YEA it's Saturday!!! NOT, I almost cried when I realized it was only Thursday. This has been a very long week!!!!
Dali, that's cool going on a casting call. If you win, can you tell them you come as a package deal? Oh and I would love to go to Italy!
Tammy, bout time you went to the dr. :) I'm so glad you did. You will feel so much better.
Tina, YEA!!!!! for Larry!!!YEA for you!!! Now go rest!!!!!!
I think I'm going home next week. I really need to go see Mom and Daddy.
02-22-2008, 01:15 PM
I apologize for being gone for sometime. Last week was very busy with me getting caught up on school work. Then on Friday I had my wisdoms removed and I've been recovering. Everything else is going well. Yesterday I started exercising I walked/jogged for 30 mins and throughly enjoyed it. I'm finally realizing that I will be so much better when I lose this weight. I know this may sound crazy, but I'm going to try my best to be in a bikini this summer. We'll see what happens.
02-22-2008, 02:58 PM
I feel like I'm letting y'all down by not being around much. With Larry, there's always so much to do every minute. Now that he's working 1/2 days from home, that cuts way down on my getting on the computer. But, here I am now. :)
Dori, ouch to the wisdom teeth!!!! And, you're not crazy having a bikini goal. You go, girl.
Got to get off the computer for now. Talk more later.
02-22-2008, 09:43 PM
Hope everyone is having a great day. It's been a long week for me!!! I'm ready for the weekend. Pat just asked if I was going with him tomorrow night.
Well, my bracelet I have worn since right before Seamus died broke today. I was in tears!!!! I knew it would some day, I just hoped it wouldn't be in my lifetime. I think I might get a silver one with his name on it.
Amy is VERY sick. She has been put on bedrest for the next 48 hours and breathing treatment every 3-4 hours. If she isn't better tomorrow, she will be put in the hospital.
Mom is going to have to have sinus surgery because of 11 different infections in less than a year. She will have that on March 25.
I'm going down on Friday, I'm taking the day off. I wanted to go down on Thursday night but we are having to give one of our old cats IV fluids every other day. It takes both of us.
Tina, don't worry about not being able to get on line alot, you are just a little bit busy.
Dori, You poor baby!!!!
Dali, how are you doing?
Tammy, did Tim get there?
I've had a not so great week. i need to get back with it.
02-22-2008, 11:03 PM
Oh my, Susan, you need a vacation away from this world.
Please let Amy know that I'm thinking about her. Do let us know how she does.
I pray your mom will be okay, too.
Your poor little cat. It must have CRF. I'm so sorry.
Tim must be down there with Tammy and Bob since we haven't heard from her. :)
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
02-23-2008, 06:18 PM
Tina, I would love a vacation from this world. You come with me.... let's go some place where people wait on us and all is right with the world.
We took the dogs to the vet today. That was loads of fun! Pat plays tonight. I really don't want to go but will since I didn't go last week and he asked me if I was. That's his way of asking me to go.
02-24-2008, 07:42 PM
How is everyone doing today? MY being OP went "bye-bye" today. I used more than my 35 flex points. So, I'm starting again fresh tomorrow. It'll be okay.
My sister is giving her husband a birthday party on March 9th. It's going to be held at the church where we used to attend. I haven't seen those people (well, the ones who are still left) in ages. That gives me incentive to get rid of the pounds I've gained back. I can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can do this!!!!!! :)
Come one group, please post what's going on in your lives.
02-24-2008, 08:13 PM
Dori, ouch to the wisdom teeth! I had mine taken out in college, and I still remember it well.
Susan, I am so sorry about the bracelet breaking. I like the idea of getting one with his name on it. Is Amy feeling any better?
Tina, we understand!!!!!!! Take it easy! You will be fine with the pounds by March 9.
Tim arrived on Thursday morning, and we have had the most wonderful time. His flight left at 5:00 this afternoon, and he called when he was changing planes in Atlanta. He'll call again when he gets into Indianapolis, and then he'll call when he gets back to school. I know a certain young lady up there who can't wait for him to get there!!
We are pretty sure we are coming for 2 months next year. Tim was online checking prices to fly down while we're here. We are planning to get a 2 bedroom unit to give us a little extra room. The 1 bedroom is nice, and I'm sure it would be fine, but the extra room would be nice too.
02-24-2008, 09:14 PM
I survived hearing the band last night. I had had a horrible headache all day and had taken plenty of pain medicine. So I slept on the way out. Pat said "Are you sleeping?" I was in that on and off stage of sleep but it was enough to help. Then once they started playing it wasn't too bad. However the club had these lights that flashed and that triggered my headache again. I was a BIG drinker last night..... diet coke all night long.
Tammy, I' so glad Tim had a good time. He is such a good kid. It sounds like him and his new (old) girlfriend are pretty serious!!! It seems like yesterday he was in high school. I think that's a great idea of getting a bigger place to stay. Maybe Tina and I can come out and visit! :D
Tina, Yes we can do it!!!!! I didn't do too hot myself today because we went for pizza. Actually I didn't do too bad but I shouldn't have done it. I found $20 in the jeans I was wearing. They are a size smaller than I normally wear and were in the closet, so I guess I left it the last time I wore them. I think that was Pre-Seamus.
Amy still feels lousy but she does sound a little better and can breathe a little better. I think she is allergic to her dogs and now they have been moved outside.
Dali, how are the teeth?
Dori, How are YOU??? How is your daughter?
02-25-2008, 11:44 AM
Tina - That weight will come off in no time. My ten year high school reunion is this year so I'm working hard on getting this weight off.
Tammy - Glad to hear that ya'll had a wonderful time together. That part of Georgia is really beautiful, but then again I'm a GA girl so I'm a little biased. :)
Susan - I understand about the headache. Too much noise and crazy lights would give me one as well. I also went over my points yesterday, but I started fresh today. That's what I love about WW's. Each day is a new day. I hope Amy continues to improve.
I'm doing wonderful. Today is the first day back at work and things are going well. I have front duty this week which isn't all that bad. I dropped Justin off at work today and told him that I would be walking home this afternoon. It's a good 3 mile walk. I'm looking forward to it. Well it's almost lunch time.
02-25-2008, 12:24 PM
Happy Monday to everyone....
Dori, I love your new avatar. :) You are in a very, very upbeat, positive mood. I love it!
Yes, we can do this thing. Good for you, walking home today. 3 miles is a long way after working, but, you can do it! :carrot:
Tammy, hopefully, next year y'all will both be well and really feeling good. Tim is cute, already figuring out plane prices. Is he really serious about this new girl? Whatever happened to Jess?
Susan, I hope you feel better today. I've always heard that those strobe lights do strange things to the body. Don't they cause seizures?
dali, what are your mini goals for the week?
How is everyone doing today?
02-26-2008, 11:08 AM
How is everything this fine Tuesday? Everything in Southeast GA is wonderful for now. Bad weather is suppose to be coming through sometime today. I was unable to walk home yesterday because Girl Scout cookies were delivered and I had ordered numerous boxes. No way I could have walked with all those boxes. I did however go to my mom's and walk on the treadmill for 20 mins. I plan on doing the treadmill thing again today for 30 mins. Wish me luck.
02-26-2008, 11:15 AM
Dori, you could've used those cookie boxes are hand weights.
02-26-2008, 09:12 PM
Tim and the new gf are very close. Not sure what long term will bring. He and Jess took a break over the summer, and then when they got back to school they both started dating others. Jess has broken up with her guy, and she has approached Tim more than once about getting back together. He told her no.
I haven't done bad with the eating while we've been gone except for my ice cream splurges. lol The weight is still what I've moved my tracker to, so that's fine with me!!
We went to one of the realty companies here and put a deposit on a condo for next year for Jan., Feb., AND Mar.!!! We talked to Tim about staying for 2 months, and then yesterday we thought, what the heck? I called Tim and we talked last night. He thinks he'll still fly down the end of Jan. next year, and then drive down during his spring break in March. Sounds good to me!!
We leave Thursday morning and head for Disney. Looking forward to seeing the HS band from home. My SIL and her mom are flying down, so we'll get together with them sometime. On Friday, we're meeting up with one of my old HS buddies and her hubby. They live in Florida now, so the 4 of us will hang out after the parade and do dinner.
Saturday morning we head to Tampa. We'll stay in the north end that night to be near Bob's nieces. On Sun. and Mon., we'll stay in the south end near his brothers. We will head north on Tuesday. I don't want to go back to snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I think I'm going to go dig out the big suitcase and put some things in it that I won't want till we get home. Books that I've read, souvenirs, and who knows what else. A little bit at a time.
02-27-2008, 12:14 AM
Wow Tammy, staying for 3 months next year!!! Will it be in the same condos? That's really something. I guess you won't miss home since Tim will be coming down a couple of times.
It's hectic around our house. We do things in the mornings because Larry works from home from 1 until 5 every day. Mornings are taken up with his exercising and me helping him do every day things.
Today he drove for the first time since Dec. 5th!!! I was with him, of course. He was only to drive around the neighborhood. He's not supposed to turn his head more than just a little each way. (We don't know how much range of motion he'll eventually have.) I know it made him feel good to get back behind the wheel.
02-29-2008, 07:31 PM
It's pretty quiet around here. :(
I hope everyone is doing all right. We seem to be very busy.
I'll write more later......
