I hope you ladies have a wonderful Friday and great weekend.
We are leaving tonight for NOLA and will return next Saturday afternoon. I will enjoy myself and try to control my eating *sigh*. I will be thinking of you guys. Chat w/y'all later.

I can't believe January is over!! It was an amazing month where my weight loss is concerned. I stayed strong for me and have provided support to those around me that are struggling or think they can't do this. Providing this support and has kept me pumped up and reaffirmed my own goals.
I hope you all have a Fantastic February and stay on target!

 Hello crbowles! Congratulations on your great weight loss efforts!!! Hope to get know more about you.
I wanted to post some before and after pics of that poor stray dog we found over the weekend. He was a cutie pie. I am having trouble resizing the after pic... don't have the time to fix it either. I really need to get to the airport. I'll just let you guys see what he was "before", I'll post his after pics later. Have a great evening! Chat when I get back.

Hello to everyone.
Just wanted to see who might still be around. I know a couple of people were taking short vacations.
Hope everyone is doing well, and keeping warm!!
02-05-2008, 09:20 AM
Hi Cal--- I would love to have some of your temps. right now!! We got about 7 inches of snow last night and it is 3 degrees this morning! Good to hear from you. Still trying to sell the house and the 5th wheel. Have some people that are supposed to be coming from Denver to look at the 5th wheel this weekend if the weather cooperates!
Cherie, I hope you had a good time skiing. I can't remember when you said you were going to be back but I imagine you had plenty of snow!
Noelle,, I know you are having fun--- Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!
Have a great day!

Hello everyone! :-) Back to work today....
I did go skiing.. and I guess I sorta got to go. Wolf Creek got 86 inches of snow while we were there....so what that meant was, conditions were pretty bad. We skied on Saturday until the white out conditions made one of our friends fall into a 6 foot snow drift, and we couldn't find her.... (we finally did, with the help of the ski patrol and the radio she was carrying) and then Sunday, we ended up only skiing three runs before it was just so bad that we decided that we needed to get off the mountain before the pass closed. (Which it did sometime Sunday afternoon, and didn't open back up til TODAY!) So, we drove home Monday morning since we couldn't ski... and I took yesterday off. The snow was amazing... so beautiful... that is the bad thing about going to Pagosa Springs... if it snows too much, then the pass closes... and you are out of luck... however, the little that I did get to ski, it was great.. the powder was up to my thighs... LOVED it!
Good to be home though! :-)
Noelle.. I hope you are having a wonderful time in NOLA!
WTG on the weight loss CRBOWLES!
Cal!!! Hey there! How are you doing?????
Karen... stay warm... it was cold there in Colorado... but I really enjoyed my time there. But I did learn that sometimes alot of snow isn't always great!
I'm not sure if you can see the pictures or not.. but one is of me and Alan, and the other is of the street sign and how much snow was around!
OK.. I guess I better get back to work! I will check back tomorrow... Oh.. and just to be honest, I gained two pounds on vacation.... I'm hoping its mainly water since I didn't drink enough like I should have... but we will see!
Talk to you all later!
02-07-2008, 08:53 AM
Just checking in. I am getting sick. I went to bed last night at 8 PM after taking a dose of Nyquil. Wish I could do that now, however, since I took three days off earlier last week and this week, I need to be here at work. :-( I've got a class tonight, so I won't be going to bed early then either.
Anyway. I hope everyone is doing great... I'll check back in later.
02-08-2008, 09:31 AM
TGIF Everyone! I am so happy it's Friday. I am feeling a bit better today. Yesterday I was just BLAH... started feeling all achey and tired. I didn't work out. I had my class last night too.. so I couldn't go home and sleep like I really wanted to... class went fine, I came home, took some more nyquil, watched LOST and then went to bed.
This morning.. feeling much better. Still a little loopy from the medicine, but hopefully that will wear off soon.
This afternoon/evening (5PM) I have an interview with the CEO of the company that I previously talked about. Right now, I REALLY LIKE my current job.. but I am still not sure what the future holds for it in the next two years... so it will really depend on what I get offered for the other job. It's going to be a heck of alot more work, but I think I would rather be busy than worrying if I am going to be downsized.
No really big plans for the weekend... tomorrow I have to pick up girl scout cookies for the girls and let them start to deliver them... and the girls also have to man a cookie booth for an hour tomorrow.. so I will be doing that too. Otherwise.. I think I am going to take it easy. Try to get to the YMCA at some point... and basically, just relax and recoop this weekend.
I hope you all have a great weekend... I'll check back in later!
02-08-2008, 11:13 PM
Noelle.... I hope you had a safe trip back from New Orleans.... I can't wait to hear about your trip!!!!
I have a HUGE favor to ask.... I heard that at the Aloha Swap Meet, you can buy small lauhala boxes for cheap...... is there ANY WAY I could get you to go sometime and buy me some and send them to me?????? I would send you the money for the boxes and shipping... I have been looking everywhere for them online, but they are all so expensive. I am thinking I want the 3x3 box.. I think the 2x2 would be too small... would this be too much trouble? Cause if it is... then I will keep looking.
Anyway... I just thought I would ask! Talk to you soon!
02-08-2008, 11:33 PM
Hi Cherie, It sounds like you had an interesting ski trip if nothing else!! Sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling to good since getting back home. We haven't had much snow this week but still lots of wind! It is really strange when you can look up and see blue skies and sunshine but you can't see your hand in front of your face because of all the blowing snow! Love the picture of you and Alan--- you both look so Happy! Love that!
I'll bet Noelle will have some good stories to tell when she gets back-- can hardly wait to hear!
Well, just wanted to stop in for a bit before going to bed. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
02-09-2008, 11:03 PM
Hello ladies, we just got back from New Orleans...a very nice, but a bit bumpy flight via Houston. OMG that vacation was GREAT!!! The parades were something to see... so many floats--I think the one parade we saw had 190(?) floats??? it was 3 parades in a row, we shipped home 100 lbs of beads via Fedex... it was ridiculous! I will download some pics tomorrow and tell some stories. Lots of interesting sites I've seen and visited with some very nice people. I missed you all and thought of you guys everytime I sat down to eat my fried oysters or fried gator, or fried shrimp po boys.... get the "fried" theme? I think I am up 5 lbs...... but anyway! I will be back on plan come Monday. I've got to get back into the swing of things.
Cherie, just a quick reply--OF COURSE I will get the lauhala boxes for you. We go to the swap meet all the time so it's not a problem. How many did you need? You know if I chat w/the vendor they will probably give me a discount if we buy in bulk--and especially if I tell her who/why we are buying them for. The sellers like a good story to give you a good bargain.
Hello to all. I am so tired from traveling. I will catch up more tomorrow. Love ya gals!
02-11-2008, 10:44 AM
Welcome Home Noelle!!! I can't wait to hear about your trip. I LOVE NOLA.. but I have never gone during Mardi Gras... I bet it was a blast!!!!
Thank you soooooo much for the lauhala boxes help!!! I think I am going to need 150 of them. That is probably too many.. but I would rather have too many than not enough. Also.. while you are looking, could you get a few of those woven beach mats for me. For my center pieces, I am wanting a 20x20 inch square that I can place my vase of orchids on, and the candles on and the river rock on. That will go over the green organza overlay that will be on top of the white table cloth! :-) I am going to stain them a dark mahogany or cherry wood color. I've been looking all over the place for some inexpensive mats, but I couldn't find them, so I am going to make my own from the beach mats. I am going to have about 15 tables... so I need 15 mats. I need to find out the dimentions of them, but I think they are 6 feet long. Looks like I will need about 5 mats. Let me know how much it will be, and I will send you the money for them and for the shipping!!! I really REALLY appreciate it!
My weekend was OK.. I am still fighting this cold... just a little congested. I haven't worked out in a week, and my eating hasn't been good. I need to get back on track this week. Meaning TODAY! I have Girl Scout cookies all over my house that I need to help the girls deliver this week... they have their meeting tomorrow, I've got to go get them Valentine's Day stuff.... Thursday is my class.. and wow.. the week will be over again. Busy Busy!
Well, I need to get back to work.. I am running payroll today.. waiting on someone right now to get his groups stuff in. Talk to you guys soon!
02-12-2008, 10:17 AM
Good Morning everyone... :-)
The cold weather is hanging on here, (expected snow showers this weekend) and my cold is hanging on in my chest. I am ready for both of them to go away!
Last night the girls and I delivered most of their girl scout cookies. We have three houses to go back to... I might try to do that tonight, however they have scouts tonight... so we may be waiting til Wednesday!
Exercise has been none existant this month (please excuse my poor spelling). I am hoping to get back on the treadmill tomorrow. This cold is kicking my butt... but I think I am just going to try to push through it tomorrow.
How is everyone doing? Noelle, are you recovering from your trip yet? Karen are you keeping warm in CO?
Well, back to work here. I'll check back in later!
02-12-2008, 10:58 AM
Good morning ladies, I just finished uploading ALL of my photos to the walmart website and I ordered the prints for pick up later on today. I figured this would be way quicker than if I'd try to print them myself (all 417? pictures???) Just call me camera happy. I am going to try and send you the link to the online photo album, but I have to wait until I am at work since i don't have some of your email addresses on my home computer. The online album is nice because I added captions to some of them, so you kind of get a feel of what you are looking at.
Anyway, getting ready for work right now... chat later.
02-12-2008, 11:45 PM
Noelle, I just finished looking at your pictures! It looks like you all had a really good time! I've never been to NOLA but someday would love to go. I've heard so many neat things about it. Loved the picture of Michael's first MardiGras! He looks like a really fun guy! So glad that the truck didn't hit your house that you were staying in!! I'll bet it was a little noisy when that happened! So many neat pictures. And you look great! I've saved the email so I can go back and look at them some more.
And I also looked at the pictures of all the rain in Hawaii! Wow! I'll bet you are glad that you missed that!
Cherie, sounds like you are getting your wedding plans all under way. I know that is exciting too. When Tim and I first got married in 1970 it was so much fun looking for wedding gowns and making all the plans. Then we divorced in 1982. He remarried someone else and so did I. Then after both of those marriages didn't work out we got back together in 1993. By then I went and checked at Goodwill and found a really beautiful Wedding dress for $12!! Tim said it was fitting though---- a used wedding dress for a used bride!!:p He has always been such a romantic! :val1: NOT!!
Today I decided it was a good day to cook a turkey that I had still frozen from Christmas. It was really good and I fixed some sweet potatoes and veggies with it. Also decided since I went that far might as well make the pumpkin pie! So I guess this was my Valentine/Birthday dinner! I tried to eat sensible but I know I still had to much. But now I can freeze the leftovers and fix some homemade turkey vegetable soup later on. I know we are still going to have more cold, snowy, windy nights!
Well, guess that is about all from here tonight. Y'all take care!
02-13-2008, 10:17 AM
Good Morning everyone!
Noelle.. I am still working on looking at your pictures! I am still at the zoo I think! Girls has scouts last night so I had to put them on pause! I am going back today and finish looking at them.. I just LOVE New Orleans... and your pictures are bringing back all those lovely memories! I had to go to the Ann Rice website last night... I really didn't realize she started writing christian books back a few years ago. I guess I was still stuck in her "darker" period writings. It was very interesting to read through what she has been doing lately.
Karen.. your Valentine's meal sounds wonderful. I would love to have some of that.. but since I haven't been to the grocery store lately... I don't really know what we will be having.
Today I am still feeling the same as I have been... same crap.. just different day. I really want to feel better, I just am not sure how much longer this will last.
Oh.. I got the best Valentine's Day present yesterday..... Alan bought me a live orchid plant!!!! It is so beautiful! So much better than the normal roses. I was wanting to get some orchids for the wedding, so this is my chance to see if I can keep this one alive! I just LOVE it.. its so beautiful!
Hannah went home sick yesterday.. there is some sort of stomach virus going around now.. poor thing. I think she is feeling better today... I hope anyway.. no phone calls yet!
Karen... you story is great... I am sure your hubby is more romantic than what you let on.. I might have gone the preowned wedding dress route, but I couldn't find one I really liked... The dress I have ordered will be perfect for the wedding... I just need to keep working out so that i will fit into it!
OK.. back to work here... I am hacking all over my screen, so I hope you don't get sick from it! Talk to you all later!
02-14-2008, 02:11 AM
Hello ladies, another busy day for me and to make things worse I think I am coming down with a cold :(. I am taking Airborne though, so hopefully that will nip things in the bud. I am getting a scratchy throat and a little sinus pressure, and Rick has been sniffling a lot. Michael had a bad cough right before we left, but he seems to have gotten over it already.... Cherie, I think I may have gotten some of your flu virus through the screen after all  Just kidding. Ooooh!!!! I just got back from my WW WI and found that I "only" gained .4 of a lb.....so I am doing the happy dance . I thought the damage would be much much worse. But! Back to the healthy eating and exercising routine.
I worked at my "other" job today, just to get familiar with the payroll again. I will be starting next Tuesday. For now, I am worrying about Rick's office and who I will have to trust in there. I'm trying not to stress myself out too much about it, but it's hard.
Anyway, I wanted to apologize for having so many pictures uploaded and please feel no obligation to look at all of them  I was really camera happy this trip but I'm glad I was. Michael will have many memories to look at for years to come.
Cherie, I hope you feel better soon, and Hannah too. Enjoy your orchid. My mom has a bunch of different varieties and they are all pretty hardy--I mean, the leaves and flowers may fall off, but just continue to water and feed it, and it will probably flower again soon after.
Karen, Tim sounds just like Rick. But we know our guys love us right? Can't live with 'em , can't live without 'em . I haven't even thought of what we will be doing tomorrow. I've been so busy with work I haven't even got a card for him. Oh well, gotta make up for that somehow . Have a great night ladies, hope you all have a romantic Valentine's day tomorrow.
ps. Karen: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :hat: :hb: :balloons:
02-14-2008, 12:37 PM
Hello Ladies, HAPPY VALENTINE"S DAY :val3::val1: I got phone calls from my Dad, my brothers and my sister this morning and I got a nice card from Tim AND he also got me two Necklaces and earring sets. One is amethyst and the other is saphire. Amethyst is my birthstone so I was really surprised! OK Guess there must be a trace of romance in that body after all!!
Noelle, Thank you for the birthday greetings! I don't have much planned since it is snowing on my Birthday!! It is about 22 degrees. Not supposed to get to much snow this time though. I am so ready for Spring!
Well, not much planned around here. Guess, I'll just take it easy today and see what the day brings. Now a buyer for the house would be a perfect present!!
I'll check back later with everyone. Have a great day!
02-15-2008, 10:16 AM
Good Morning everyone~ Sorry I was MIA yesterday. I left work about 9 AM yesterday and went home and took my medicine and slept all day long. It must have helped, because I fell 90% better!! Alan was sick too.. so we spent the day in bed napping... nothing fun because it was Valentine's Day.. But it was nice spending the day with him, even if we were both sick.
Happy Birthday Karen!!!! My best friend's birthday is on V-Day as well.. I hope you had a really nice day!
Noelle... I am going back today to finish the pictures! You are so beautiful btw.. there was one picture that I saw, and I will have to go back and find it.. and you were just so beautiful! :-) Gorgeous Chick!
OK.. TGIF. I am trying to get my invitations ordered today. At least the paper stock. I am creating them myself.. and I need to get on the ball. I am making the girls dresses, and I need to get on the ball with those as well. We found a Hawaiian band that will come and preform for us! Ohana is the name of the group. I think it will be fun. They do an actual show, and possibly a fire dance!
Anyway... we are trying to get a contract together today for them... so hopefully we can get it all worked out!
OK.. I need to get back to work... Check back in later!
02-15-2008, 03:50 PM
Hello ladies, TGIF!!! :carrot: I am stuffy headed but plowing through work right now, I don't have much choice. Tis the flu season I guess.
For Valentine's day yesterday we went out to dinner at a nice sushi restaurant, then went to Home Depot (romantic, I know). I wanted to get my dad a present, his b-day is today (as is my father-in-law). I ended up getting my dad a Leatherman multi-tool plier thingie, and Rick wanted a demolition hammer for work--so that's what he got for V-day . We must be getting old, because we both want practical things as gifts
We are supposed to be going to the Police concert tomorrow night, but Rick decided that he'd rather go fishing instead, so I am taking Michael as my date ;) --then on Monday, my 2 sisters and I are doing the Great Aloha Run, although we are walking. It is 8.15 miles from the Aloha Tower to the Aloha Stadium. It's pretty flat out there and I've done it several times before so I'm actually looking forward to getting out there.
Karen, Tim came through after all ;) I hope your day was very happy indeed. Has it warmed up any at all? I'm thinking warm thoughts for you and sending vibes for someone to come out and buy your house!
Cherie, it is so exciting to have a Hawaiian band come out. Are they from here or somewhere on the mainland? I'd love to hear their music. I know Alan is a musician so this Ohana band must be pretty good if you guys are hiring them. Glad you're feeling better! Hey, I didn't get to comment on your ski pics, but you and Alan make a great looking couple! And thanks girl for the compliments, you are making me blush :o --you do know that it's a requirement to post on this thread right? To be good looking? Just kidding.
--I also wanted to ask you, when do you need the lauhala boxes by--I know, the sooner the better right? I am trying to contact a supplier a few doors down from me to see if he carries any. I just need to know a roundabout date that you would need them. Let me know.
OK, so what happened to everyone else? Angie? Kempy? Dips? cw? Cal? :( I miss you guys and think of you often. I gotta get back to work. Enjoy your day!
02-15-2008, 05:15 PM
OK.. this is the picture I was talking about!!!! You are just gorgeous!
And Michael's mustache.. OMG.. that kept cracking me up!!! Loved it on you dawlin!
So how did you like Van Halen??? I though David Lee Roth looked pretty HOT... wow. I didn't know many of their songs.. but I sure enjoyed my eye candy at the concert!!!! :D
As for the boxes... yeah.. as soon as you can! Hahaha.. however, if I can get them by sometime in the middle of May... that will give me time to assemble them. I can't buy the chocolate covered macadamina nuts until then, cause I don't want them to be stale.. as for the band.. we are not going to be picky.. they are the ONLY Hawaiian band in the vincity.... I just think it will be cool to bring a little of "aloha" to Oklahoma! :-) I am now trying to think up some song they might play at the ceremony... processional and ressessional and such... if you have any good ideas.. please pass them on!
OK.. my boss just told me I could leave.... so I am going to scat! Talk to you all later!
02-19-2008, 05:44 PM
Hello everyone!!!! Happy Tuesday! I am sitting here trying to study (I am taking a PHR, professional Human Resource class) and waiting on the phone to ring. I got a job offer from that company yesterday. I emailed this morning with a counter... and I just called and left a message with the HR manager about 40 minutes ago. (I had said in the email that I would call back this afternoon since I was busy with meetings all day). So.. I am just waiting to see if they call me back. What does it mean when I don't know if I want them to call me or that I feel really anxious (and not in a good way?) I really like my job here ... but the future is not very stable.... however, right here and now... it's fine, and the dynamics are great. This new company would mean alot of change (three months before my wedding) and alot more work, but if they accept my counter. (they were going to give me basically 7% now, and up that to about 9% increase over my current salary in 90 days, I countered with a 15% increase because of my recent CPP certification and my knowledge of their software system)... anyway... just a little stressed...
Right now... it's in their court, and I am going to do my best not to worry about it any more tonight. 6 to 7% isn't enough to get me over there to them.. but 15% is nice. I will keep you posted!
We, I weighed in yesterday.... and I am happy to say that even though I came off my diet, haven't exercised and have been sick, I am down at my lowest previous weight. 161.50. So.. I am starting back getting on track. I ordered my crinoline today, so I need to lose some inches in my waist for my dress to fit.... I still have three solid months to do that in..... so, I've got to buckle down.
OK.. back to work here.. 15 more minutes til I can get out of here!!!!! Hope everyone is doing OK~!!!!!
02-20-2008, 10:03 PM
Hello ladies, sorry I've been MIA. We had a wonderful weekend with the Police concert--those guys can still ROCK THE HOUSE!!! and Sting looks AMAZING  , the Great Aloha Run (I finished it in 2hrs, 15 minutes just walking :running: ) and well, I started work F/T at my old company on Tuesday. Today the gal that is supposed to continue training me called in sick so today was stressful...I was floundering around all day but did what I could with whatever notes I had. So much for that. Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say hello. This will suck that I can't get on the computer during the day, but I hope to pop in at least at night.
Cherie, congrats on getting down to your low. You will fit into your beautiful gown. And I am thinking good thoughts for your job situation all the way around. I know exactly how you feel having just been through a similar situation, and I'm just now experiencing the terror of the move . Just kidding! I know we will reap the benefits that we deserve right?
Anyway, I have to head back to Rick's office to pick up some slack. Work work work... :p
Hi Karen, Cal and any other lurkers out there. Have a great rest of the week.
02-21-2008, 02:52 PM
Noelle, Congrats on :running: the Aloha Run!! You really did good! We haven't had anything like that around here and probably won't for at least another month or so. And another Congrats on the new (old) job! :) It sounds like you are going to be really busy!
Cherie, I just heard on the news that they are planning on putting a ski resort on the west slope of Pikes Peak next year! Now just think about this.... if you bought our house you would only be about 15 minutes away from the slopes!!! ;) If you could go straight from our front door to Pikes Peak it would probably be less!!
Still working on getting back on track today. I really feel so determined right now. Also I'm having some good thoughts and feel that our house will sell next month. Maybe I'm beign to optimistic but I just kind of have a good feeling.
Well, I need to go and finish getting some things done around here. And they are talking about another 2 to 4 inches of snow again tonight! Come on Spring!!!
02-22-2008, 03:03 PM
TGIF everyone... I am glad this week is almost over.
Noelle... I am so jealous!!!! I would love to see the Police... one of my favorite of all time bands!
And WTG on the Aloha Run!!! Very impressive!
How is your new job going? Getting any better????
Karen.... that is really tempting! :-) We are still talking things out.. trying to figure out what we want to do after the wedding. Colorado is still the top of our list... just trying to figure out how to do it.
Well, I didn't take the job offer. I declined the offer this week. Not sure if I made the right decision or not... but I am glad to have made a decision, and I can quit focusing on it.
Alan finally put an ad in the paper to sell his house. We are going to do an open house this weekend. Hopefully we can get some traffic in there and get someone to buy the darn thing.
Well... I better get back to work.. I need to at least look busy... I'll talk to you guys later!
02-22-2008, 06:00 PM
Hey girls, I am so glad it's FRIDAY :cb: You would not believe it but the gal that is training me didn't show up on Thursday either so I had to wing it, AGAIN! She did show up this morning and basically said that she thought it wasn't a big deal because there wasn't that much work to be done.... um, yeah, so what? I still don't know the complete processes so shouldn't you be showing up to train me? I mean, she's only here for 1 more week. I've been STRESSING out like you wouldn't believe. But today at least for now, things are better. Oh! But she left at lunch and isn't coming back, so WHATEVER!?!! At least I've worked at the office before and know the people there, I feel a helluva lot more comfortable being there than if I'd never worked there before--I can't even imagine if some poor newbie would've shown up to get trained and she did this to them.....OMG!
Cherie, at least you made the right decision about the job for you. I think it would've been a lot of change especially w/your upcoming wedding...plus, you know what I almost forgot for myself? When you start a new job you have to earn your vacation time...man, that sucks! I won't get another vacation until next Feb., probably later because I'm saving it for fall break 2009...it'll be a long wait for me :(
Karen, I like your positive vibes. :crossed: I'm crossing my fingers for the sale of your house!
Well, I gotta get back to work. Hope you all have a great weekend.
ps. I'm weighing in this evening at WW. I hope to see some new, lower numbers on the scale.
02-23-2008, 01:28 PM
Woo-Hoo!!! I lost 2.6 this week...must've been the 8.15 miles :running:. Can't wait to get out of the 180's!!!
Happy Saturday ladies!

Hello Ladies! Well I got on the scales this morning and I gained a pound this week!! Changed my ticker. But that is OK because I really tried to focus on getting my eating back on track this past week. And this coming week I am going to get in more exercise other than just the normal housework! So the scales WILL start moving in the right direction!
Noelle, Congrats on the loss this week!! That is fantastic!! I hope your new job gets more comfortable for you real soon.
Cherie, you probably made the right decision about the job. Right now I'm sure you are more focused on your wedding and that is stressfull enough without adding a new job to the mix!
We did have some people come and look at the house yesterday. You know how you try to read people to see what they think...... I couldn't tell anything. I did hear them say when they opened up the walk-in closet in our bedroom, " A Guestroom" And I just couldn't figure out what they thought. I do know they had some more houses that they were looking at so guess we'll just have to sit and wait to hear.
Well, guess I need to get busy. Gosh! It is already noon here! WOW!
Have a great day!

Happy Saturday everyone. I am "at work" at Rick's office. It is so much more peaceful here, since I know what I'm doing  Well, yesterday actually wasn't so bad since the gal did come in for a half-day, and she gave me something to do for the afternoon which I actually sort of understood. I hope next week is much, much better and that she actually shows up to work! :crossed: please please please!!!
Cherie, I am waiting for an answer from the guy a few doors down who does imports of "hawaiian" things that are actually made in the Philippines and Malaysia or Indonesia . I'm thinking he should be able to get the lauhala boxes pretty cheaply, and we rent space to his brother so I'm hoping he'll give you a great price. I'll let you know as soon as I know.
Karen, I am really thinking positive thoughts for your house to sell. I know how much you want to move back "home" to MO. I have a cousin who lives in Colorado, I have to go find out exacty where, but they've been there a few years. He was in the Air Force and has lived all around the world, but retired to CO, he's just a few years older than I am...maybe 4-5 years? They always send us pics of them skiing or doing neat outdoorsy things. I think CO is a really beautiful place from what I've seen. --and hey, don't fret about that stinkin' pound. It'll come off and take a few more with it. Just hang in there. Are you doing still doing South Beach? or SF? or a combination? Whatever it is, just take it one day at a time.
Hope you all enjoy your weekend? I know I am.

OMG we just came home from a Major League Soccer game: The LA Galaxy vs. the Sydney FC...... David Beckham  plays for the Galaxy Team, he is so HOT!!!
02-26-2008, 09:32 AM
Good Morning everyone! Yesterday was my payroll processing day, and we were short staffed here at work... so I just didn't make it online yesterday!
Noelle.. great job on the lost pounds! You are doing fantastic! I've never been to a soccer game, but it sure sounds fun!!!
Thank you so much for checking up on those boxes! I really appreciate it!! :-) It is funny that they are made somewhere else... but they are soooo "Hawaiian"! :-)
Karen.. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you to sell your house. We had an open house for Alan's house this past Sunday.. and got two couples to come look at it.. We are discussing about lowering the price some more.... I know how frustrating it can be...
Well, I need to get back on track this week. I have three months til the wedding, and for the month of February, I have just basically maintained my weight... I got my slip in yeterday (the crinoline) and I have a couple of inches in my waist I need to lose for it to fit right.
This Sunday... I get to go see Rob Thomas and Alanis Morresette!!! Matchbox 20 is coming to town.... she is opening for them. I think that will be a great concert! :-)
OK.. I need to get back to work! I'll check back in later!
02-26-2008, 11:28 PM
Hi everybody! Cherie, I know so well how frustrating that trying to sell a house is! I hope that we both get them sold and are able to move where we want to be soon! We haven't heard anymore from the people that looked at it on Friday. I just hate the waiting game!
Noelle, It sounds like you are doing really good! I'm still working with Slimfast and counting calories. I think I did pretty good last week with my eating and this week I've made a promise to myself to get in the exercise. Yesterday and today I did 300 crunches on the ab lounge (about 15 minutes) and also 30 minutes each day on the Gazelle! My legs are really sore tonight but I think it is a good sore! I'm hoping to be able to do that each day. I have the Gazelle in front of the TV so I just watch TV while I'm doing it. I really like it more than the treadmill. And it is really quiet since it isn't electric or anything. I think I got a pretty good deal when I bought it off craigslist! I will be anxious to see what my weight is on Friday.
Well, guess that is about all the news from here. Catch you all tomorrow. Have a good night!

I'm still here. Things are just getting very busy at school; we only have 2 weeks left until Spring break. I'm also tutoring a 7th grade ELL student 3 times a week, take Ashley to pom and cheer practice, and I have therapy 3 days a week.
I'm sooooo ready for Spring break.
02-29-2008, 01:03 AM
Hey ladies  I can't believe I finally get a minute to get online! I'm really tired but I just had to pop on and say hi to y'all. It's been an interesting week and I'm sure at the end of next week I'll see what I'm really made of. The gal whose place I'm taking is leaving tomorrow... she's been in to "train" me only for half-days and sometimes not even that. We'll see how much I can actually "do" from what I've seen done. I've got some mighty big shoes to fill, she's been with the company for over 20 years...my confidence is wavering but I do like a challenge. I guess I am a glutton for punishment.
Hi Cal  I know you're ready for a break. How's the therapy going? Is it giving you any relief? I know some days may seem like torture, but it's worth it after it's done. I hope you're back on your feet like before. Say hi to Ashley for me.
Karen, you're doing great on the exercise. I hope you have a great weigh in tomorrow! :cheer2: Still sending good vibes your way for your house to sell!
OMG Cherie, I just love Alannis! Rob Thomas is pretty good looking huh? Have a great time! Hmmm, I need to go and bug the guy again about the boxes. If not, I may just go to the swap meet this weekend. It would be easier for me to get them from him, because they would already be boxed up and he could probably ship them from his warehouse, which is two doors away from mine. Oh well, I can always enjoy a walk around the swap meet in the sunshine.
Speaking of which, Cal, did your BIL come out here yet?
I gotta go and get Michael in bed. Good night ladies. :grouphug:
02-29-2008, 05:08 PM
TGIF Ladies!!!! I am so glad this week is about to come to a close.....
Noelle.. thanks again for trying to get those boxes for me.. I really do appreciate it.... going to the Aloha swap meet sounds like so much fun right now... I wish I could do that with you!
I am excited about the concert.. it should be a great on!
Cal.. hey there! Sounds like you are really busy.. glad you could check in with us! Hope to see you before spring break!
Karen.. how are you doing? Weather getting any better? We are supposed to have a nice weekend, but then the rain comes on Sunday night and a possibility for snow on Monday. Its time for it to move on.. it will be March already!
I am starting back on track tomorrow. I totally screwed February off... Three months til the wedding. YIKES!
This weekend, in addition to the concert, we have an open house for Alan's house on Sunday, and I haven't done laundry in two weeks, so this is the weekend for it, and I need to start on the girls dresses.... so.. I will be pretty busy... hopefully I won't turn lazy and not get anything done.
OK.. I am getting out of here... almost time to go.. have a great weekend everyone!
03-01-2008, 01:30 AM
Hey ladies, I went to my WI tonight and lost 1.4 lbs this week :cb:. I'm .6 lbs away from 40 lbs lost....... so close yet so far :( I will keep on chugging through it though. Oh! I finally reached that "mini goal" of 15 lbs lost, so hooray for me. My next goal is another 15... hopefully I will do it faster than the 3 mos. it took me this time, at least it's coming off right? Work today was stressful but in a different way. I think I will be OK  I will be going into Rick's office in a few minutes, but just for some paperwork that can't wait. I want to be home tomorrow for laundry as well, so I might as well get the work over with.
Cherie and Karen, I wish you both good luck on getting some buyers for the homes. :crossed: You all have a wonderful weekend ya hear?
03-01-2008, 11:27 AM
Noelle, Congrats on your weight loss this week! :congrat: WOW! I guess I didn't relalize that you had lost almost 40 pounds so far!! That is awesome! :bravo: Great job!! You are doing really great!
I lost that nasty pound this week! :):carrot: So that feels pretty good! That puts me back at 25 pounds lost and 39 to go! I know I can get there! I really am loving the Gazelle and since it has no motor (just me!;) ) it is really quiet and I can do it while I'm watching a TV show without having the volume up loud enough so the neighbors hear it!! I did get the 20th anniversary edition of the Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies too. I put one of the DVD's in the other day and just watched it while I was doign the Gazelle. I like to watch them through once before I try to do any new workout DVD. I really like the muisc on them!! Gosh! I'm old!!!
Cherie, hope things go well for you tomorrow with the Open House. The realtor told us that the people that looked at our house last Friday are probably going to want to come back and see it again! I'm thinking that it may be this weekend so I am going to make sure I have the house all ready to show today for sure!
We are supposed to get up to almost 60 degrees today and then back to the 20's tomorrow!! They are also talking about another couple inches of snow for us! :( Maybe most of what we have left will all melt today so that it isn't so much tomorrow!
Cal-- good to hear from you! You sound like things are really pretty busy for you. Let us hear from you when you get a few minutes here and there!
Well, guess I'd better get busy before the mornign completely gets away from me. Take care.
03-02-2008, 07:15 PM
This is a quick pop in for this afternoon. Sure hope everyone has had a good weekend.
I found out something today that is kind of funny, only because no one was hurt. But my younger brother is over at the United Arab Emirates right now. He is a college professor at MSSU in Joplin. And I guess there is a school over there that wanted to get their accreditiation (SP) so they asked if he would want to go. There are 5 others that went too. But anyway, in Frankfort, Germany yesterday his plane was hit by a bus!! Now my first thought was, "What was a bus doing up that high?" ;) Only someone in our family could be on a plane and get hit by a bus!! I guess they were on the tarmac when it happend and like I said no one was hurt. But I'll bet there were some pretty tense moments! He should be home on the 7th and I imagine he will have some very interesting stories.
Ok, got to go and fix some grilled chicken for supper!! Catch you later.
03-03-2008, 10:02 AM
Good Morning! It's MONDAY.... not my favorite day of the week. Especially today. Saturday, we got highs in the 70's. Beautiful Day... yesterday, the winds started blowing.... and we had highs in the lower 60's. Last night, a cold front moved through, we had torrental rain and tornados. All night long we had WIND. This morning, it's still raining, and snowing. We should get about 2 to 3 inches today. However, high tomorrow will be in the 40's.. and by the end of the week, back up to the 60's and 70's. And I wonder WHY I can't beat this cold I've had for the past month.
:-) Alanis Morrisette and Matchbox Twenty were awesome last night... even with the storms and tornados. Two of my favorite artists in one night... it was great!
I started working on the girls dresses this weekend.. not sure if I like it.. I had to cut the fabric in the wrong direction because of how big the skirt is, so I am not liking how the nap is showing. :-( I will make Megan's dress since it's the smallest, and see how it turns out... and if I just can't stand it, I will reorder the fabric.... but at $15.00 a yard, I am not too excited about that. I will need probably 4 yards. I also started hot fixing crystals onto my veil this weekend, however due to the hot fix tip not being the correct size (or the crystals not being the correct size) they kept falling off the gun and making me crazy. I have ordered the correct tip, so hopefully that will come in this week and I can finish my veil project this next weekend.
Alan had the open house yesterday. Had three groups show up. One seemed pretty interested.. was going today to try to get prequalified. We will see. I really need to get that house sold! :-)
Other than all that and cleaning the house.. not much more happened this weekend.... I need to get started back today on my workouts. But I just realized that today at lunch, we are meeting the cake lady at La Baguette, so I guess I will be having lunch out instead of running on the treadmill. Thursday, we are meeting with the caterer.... getting the food taken care of this week. I can't believe it's March already! I WILL get on the ellipitcal tonight. I have to.
OK.. I need to get busy here at work.. hope you guys are doing great!!!! I'll talk to you soon...
03-03-2008, 10:04 AM
BTW... Noelle.. GREAT JOB on the weight loss! You are so inspiring! 40 pounds! WOW ..... you are going to be rockin out this summer!!!
Karen... that is so scary about your brother!!! I am glad he is OK! I bet he will have some pretty interesting stories when he comes back!
OK.. now I am going to go work.... :-) I am leaving early today because of the weather to go pick the girls up from school, so I have lots to do today before I leave! I'll check in later!
03-05-2008, 11:10 AM
This week has been busy.... I am supposed to meet with my caterer in an hour, but I can't get ahold of her. Alan can't make it, and I want him at the meeting. :-( I guess I'll go meet her myself and try to reschedule.
How is everyone doing? I am OK... I ran during lunch yesterday and got on the elliptical last night for 30 minutes. I really need to get myself back on track. Today, since I am meeting said caterer I can't run at lunch, but I will try to make up for it at home and do the elliptical for an hour.
I've gained back 5 pounds... from where I was at the end of January.. so I am not happy... actually, this 5 pound gain has come in the past two weeks.. so I really need to reign it in.
How is everyone doing?????? Come check in! Noelle... I am just waiting for you to start the new thread! :-) OK.. back to work here.. bbl!
03-06-2008, 12:04 PM
Ugh... it's Thursday. I used to like Thursdays, but for the time being, these are my long days. After work, I have my PHR class, and I won't get home until after 9 PM... soooo..... I am not liking today much... AND it's supposed to sleet or snow.... or something.... it's cold outside. Good thing I brought my lunch today and will be running on the treadmill.
Wedding plans are coming along. I think I'll be working on my invites this weekend. My paper should be in. Last night I bejewelled my veil... I ran out of crystals and had to order some more today.... I got some extra and some patterns so that I can make something for my daughters.
I got on the elliptical last night for 30 minutes.... that would have been great, however, I then went and proceeded to have italian food with garlic bread and wine... it was good.. but not helping me at all.
How is everyone doing? OK.. I better get back to work.. hope everyone gets a chance to come check in.... getting a little lonely here! :-)
03-06-2008, 12:32 PM
Cherie, it sounds like you have been really busy with your wedding plans. But I know that is a "fun" busy! Did you get any good bites on Alan's house? We're still just in the waiting mode! I sure wish something would happen soon.
I talked to my sister yesterday and my Dad is going to have a pacemaker put in next Wednesday. I'm really going back and forth as to whether I should go back there or not. He is 88 and had the quadruple bypass about a year and a half ago and he has diabetes. I know the pacemaker surgery isn't supposed to be a big surgery but I guess I just like to worry! Sure wish we were already back there. It just seems that things are so tight here since Tim hasn't worked in almost a year. Guess I just need to figure out what I want to do and then just do it!
Noelle-- Where are you? How is the new job coming? I hope it hasn't swallowed you up!!
I've been really doing better with exercise this week. Been doing 45 minutes on the Gazelle and also 15 minutes on the ab lounge. Still haven't added a Sweatin' to the Oldies DVD yet. But hoping to.
Well, I just wanted to pop in and say Hi and hope you all have a good day.
03-06-2008, 06:45 PM
arggggghhhh! I am at the tail end of my lunch break and had a nice post typed up then it went POOF! I will catch up with you ladies tonight and maybe even start a new thread OK? Love ya!
03-06-2008, 06:48 PM
Hello There! Well, we decided that we are going to go on back to MO. and be with my Dad while he is in the hospital. We are planning on leaving early Saturday morning and be able to visit awhile with him before he goes to the hospital on Wednesday. I'll try to get back later this evening to see how everyone is doing. If I can I will try to get logged on while I'm back there and let you know how things are going.
