Weight Watchers - Count down to 300....Spring Challange.View Full Version : Count down to 300....Spring Challange. Akasha_2002 02-06-2002, 10:08 PM I am about 14lbs away from my first mini goal of 300, so for any of you out there who would like to join me on this part of my journy I'd love the company and support. Akasha_2002 02-07-2002, 09:08 AM Well today is the first offical day of my personal challange. I dont know if I'm going to get to weigh in tonite or not, the roads are still really bad, so I may wait till next Thrusday. Didnt get much sleep last nite, dd was very fussy, so I'm going to go ahead and get my 1 mile walk in before I get too tired and lazy. Here are some of my goals for today. I'll be back tonite to let you know if I made them or not. 1- 1 mile walk. 2- 64oz of water 3- Stay OP 4- No eating after 8pm slutbunny 02-07-2002, 08:20 PM Heya, Akasha! I just wanted to tune in and let ya know that I'm pullin' for you. :) You'll have to share how you did on your goals! Do you do much walkin' outdoors? One of my favourite "easy" hikes is down by Bryson City -- there are two waterfalls there that are within a mile of the parking area and the walk is relatively level. The falls are called Tom's Branch and Indian Creek Falls. I'm not sure where in NC you are -- but if that's in your area, you might give it a thought. *smile* Anyway -- happy day and good luck with your personal challenges!! Akasha_2002 02-09-2002, 09:24 AM Hey Slutbunny  I live in the Mountians of NC, around Asheville. So, its pretty cold here right now. I got those Leslie Sansone tapes I walk with in the house, plus I work at a Nursing home, lots of walking there. Thank you for the encourgement on this lil goal of mine. Hope you have a wonderful day. KayEllen 02-09-2002, 08:11 PM Wow, Akasha! Way to go on your great loss so far. My starting weight was 371.5 on Jan 5 and am down to 358 as of today. When did you begin exercise? I was just wondering. I am walking some each day but feel like I'm ready to maybe do more. I was wondering how you handled it. My goals for the week is water, walk, journal and take time out for ME! Kay thinthinker 02-10-2002, 12:49 AM Hey, ladies! Just thought I would pop in here for a minute and let you know that there is a thread under "support" that is called "300+ And Ready To Try Again" that you would be more than welcome to join in on. Our group has many different sizes, but most of us are, shall we say, well endowed? There are quite a few that follow WW, but there are some other plans there as well. Just thought I would extend to you an invite to at least come by and say hi. Hope to see you! mom4 02-10-2002, 08:37 PM It looks like we both have alot in common. WE'RE HERE FOR EACH OTHER AND HOPEFULLY BY NEXT YEAR WE'LL SEE A LOT LESS OF EACH OTHER   Sparky 03-12-2002, 12:50 PM Good post! I'm struggling more than I ever thought possible, since I AM trying to make a change of lifestyle, rather than ignoring my entire collection of interesting and destructive eating habits. I am losing weight in the slowest of possible manners. In about six months I have see-sawed my way from 339.5 to 330. I'm 6'0", and am trying just to get past the first 10 pounds, then 20 pounds, then 30 pounds, then the first 10%. In this process, I have put into place some new (helpful) habits: - menu planning (no winging it) - letting my partner know when I'm grabbing a snack (no secret eating) - improving my eating-out habits (more assertiveness) I still have a long path ahead of me for: - eating when alone (high-cal/high volume grazing) - festive occasions with family (issues of belonging) - ice cream and other milk-based desserts (sooo goood) It's a journey, so rock on, everyone, we can make it! Diane Rock 04-15-2002, 02:37 PM Just joined WW again after a hiatus and some weight gain. I think I finally realized that it is okay to not get it completely right the first time and that the most important element is too never give up the fight to attain good health. angel_eyes45 04-16-2002, 04:23 PM Hi Ladies i just went and signed up to join a gym i think that it will help me with the weight loss...I am terrible at exercising but if i go to the gym and have to weigh up and they also help with nutrition so i think it will be good... hugs yvonne Akasha_2002 04-28-2002, 12:52 PM I know its been months since I've wrote anything here, but I'm back and ready to get down and dirty with the weight loss again! I have a great new job, but sadly its an hour away, so its a long drive, plus I put in 12 hours when I get there. So, yeah there are going to be some days when I cant get to post up, but I'm going to try to be here at least 3 or 4 times a week. I'm taking today and tonite just to catch up on everyone. Gods, I have missed you guys. So, post up and tell me how everyone is doing? How is the lose going? I'm down a few more pounds. Never did make that Spring Challange, thats ok. I'll just make it for the Summer. Ladies we can do this one, one day at a time. See you all soon! Debbiebec 05-14-2002, 10:34 PM Hi! My name is Debbie and I'm currently sitting at over 330lbs. My scale only goes to 330 and then reads ERROR, so I'm in the error zone! Hahaahaha. I know I'm actually in the 340's, so until I hit 330, I am dieting blind and have no idea what my progress is! How scarey is that? I COULD go to my doctors and weigh in, but I don't like to do it there because the scale is in plain view of everyone in the waiting room. I'm curious but I'm not THAT curious. Anyway, I'm following the Weight Watchers point plan and really liking it. I've been "good" since last wednesday and plan to stick to it until goal! I realized I was in trouble, physically, when I went for a walk the other day and oh the pain in my ankles was so bad! Not the joint, but the achilles tendon and up into the side of the calves. I cried all the way home and that was after only walking 20 minutes at a brisk pace. This weight is crippling me and I refuse to let it hobble me this way. My first goal, obviously, is to show up on the scale at 330 and then my next goal is to hit 300. I hope to make some good friends here who understand what it's like to wake up one morning and realize that this weight problem can't go on like this! It'll be a long journey, but I'm determined. Good luck to everyone! I hope I can also be helpful to anyone who needs a hug or someone to talk to. I've had those days where you cry and wonder how we can even go on, but we WILL go on, we WILL survive and we WILL lose this weight! Debbie lorelei1 05-20-2002, 10:35 AM Debbie- I can relate to what you posted about not knowing your weight. My scale only went to 300 and I knew I weighed more than that but ERROR?? :) I dont know if I would have laughed or cried if I saw that. You have a good sense of humor! What I decided to do when I started losing weight was go to a local grocery store that has a pharmacy section. They have a free blood pressure machine and a scale that costs a quarter to use. I decided to try it and I weighed 313! (5'8 tall) I could not believe it. I have been going by that scale since then. I know it's correct because when I go to the doctor their scale is only a pound or two off "my" scale at the store. I just use it when nobody else is nearby to see my weight. Now I am at 266 (47 pounds gone!!) And I have quite a way to go but I will get there and so will you! Hopefully you can find a place to weigh in at and you will KNOW your numbers and not have to guess anymore. Best wishes!! lorelei Debbiebec 05-20-2002, 11:14 AM Thanks for your reply! It IS kind of funny to know I weight ERROR, isn't it. Hahahaha! I've been doing good on program, though I had a rough weekend. I can feel the difference in my clothes and my face isn't as bloated, so there is SOME progress, at least. I'm still not 330! I was thinking of going and getting weighed, but I am so determined to see the 330 that dieting blind like I am and wanting to see that 330 appear is really quite motivating, if that makes sense. It's been hard getting out and walking and exercising, but I'm keeping the faith on that, too. While I wish this 300 board was more active, I still plan to be a regular here and, in a way, I'm glad it's not more active. Means not as many people are struggling on this level and so maybe not as many people are having the same struggle. That's a good thing. No one should be faced with the big ERROR! lorelei1 05-20-2002, 06:44 PM Debbie, I see you aren't as "anal" as I am LOL!! I had to know EXACTLY how much I weighed when I started losing weight. I guess I am very numbers oriented or something. I dont even trust other scales unless it's confirmed on mine. I am glad you are already seeing the results of your efforts. Every positive thing you can do will pay off! take care! PS-Feel free to join us if you haven't already to the 100 pounds club heading. We have a pretty active group over there. Not everyone is on WW like the WW100 area though. Some do low carb, some count calories, but we all are or were atleast 100 over our ideal weight! just scroll further down the message board from ww 100 and you will find us!! lorelei:dizzy: vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
