I have not read the book but I have seen the Dr's on Oprah and on the Health Channel. Plus I check their real age website as well as 3FC. I like what they say and it all makes sense to me.
My problem is portion control though. I was thinking of doing calorie counting or WW points(I have my books & pointfinder from two years ago) with the foods on the YOAD list. Wondering if anyone else combines this with other programs OR if it is even worth doing the "double effort".

I do. I combine it with Superfoods and calorie counting.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but to me YOAD isn't really a diet plan. Doesn't Dr. Oz even say in his book that you can use his information with any diet plan you choose? There are some do's and don'ts and lots of great tips on how to manage the hormones in the body that control hunger, fullness, and cravings. I credit his great insites and tips into helping me get started and helping me get a handle on my out of control eating. I highly recommend reading his book no matter what plan you're on.
I continue to check out weight loss and fitness books all of the time. I don’t change my main plan but I find good things in all of them that I try. It keeps me from getting board and helps me to tweak what I’m doing to get even better results. One of the books I got soon after I started was Super Foods. The way I use it is to try and eat 5 or more items from the Super Foods list a day. Volumetrics was another book I like that showed how to eat more food for the same calories. I also listen to Jillian Michaels podcasts and read her book Winning by Losing. I use her formulas to figure out how many calories I can eat to lose weight and to get more info on fitness strategies. This website is full of great info and support as well. Good Luck!
I'm going by the YOAD & counting calories using fitday.com. :)
