Ok, so since I am the biggest exercise slacker of this group, I will start this challenge:

I challenge everyone to walk for at least 15 minutes every single day for seven days straight- Friday to Friday. Then next week we will add a few more minutes until we are all walking 30 minutes a day.

I will get my big behind on that treadmill tomorrow before work!

OK - I'm in - I'm pretty sure I can do that!

Thanks for getting the ball rolling Denise!

How's everyone doing???

I have walked every day, and even tried to go to water aerobics- (I give myself the credit because I did actually go there with all intentions of doing the class but it was canceled because the pool heater was broken).

I am feeling really proud of myself because I can honestly say that's it's been almost a year since I have walked for five consecutive days!

I have been going to the gym on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I have been walking on the treadmill on Tuesday, Thursday and sometimes Saturdays. If I don't tread on Saturday, I have been going to water aerobics. I am struggling with exercise on Sunday but I will get it right.

I did get to go to water aerobics *finally* but what a disaster. First, they changed the time of the class, and even though my DH picked up a flyer last week, the class started at 6:00, not 6:30 as we thought. So, to my dismay, we had to start the class a half and hour late (not awkward at all to have to walk all the way around the pool in front of the entire class....) and then the class totally sucked- there were two ladies who I am assuming were the instructors, although they just talked over each other and they had this really loud music going so you couldn't hear and even though the instructors were screaming, all you could hear was people screaming, the music blasting, and no one know what to do. Most people did their own thing although occasionally one woman would show by her hands what to do. That was the first ten minutes. The next 15 minutes was "laps" in which everyone just drifted around the pool and about half of the class left. Finally, we did 5 minutes of stretching which was a little better, except they switched the music to gospel (which I don't mind personally, but thought it was inappropriate for an exercise class and even more so at a military function where religion is supposed to be kept neutral)

The class was free, so I guess I got what I paid for- this is one of my many complaints with the military- in the "real" world, if a class sucked like that at a gym that you pay a membership for, people would demand their money back. But because it's a free class, it can be run any kind of way, and if you complain no one cares. They all get paid the same no matter if one person shows up or if 50 show up, and as long as their paycheck is not affected by the clients happiness they don't care if we like the class or not. Sigh.

But I'm still walking :)

Denise....so sorry about the bummer water aerobics. I love mine and maybe it is because the instructors do get paid and we do pay for the memberships. Well, I hope you like the walking and I wish you lived close by so we could meet at the gym. Hang in there!

OK I finally started exercising today. I completed the 1 mile WATP DVD.

Wouldn't it be a blast if we could all meet at a gym and workout together. I guess this is the next best thing.
