Joanne, how busy is it in your area on Sundays? When we were in Tampa last summer on Sunday, there didn't seem to be much traffic. Maybe we could work something out for Sunday, March 2. Our hotel will be on South Dale Mabry close to Bob's brothers house, and if there isn't much traffic, I could find Tarpon Springs. I think.

I took a break from the Y today. Didn't think it would hurt me to take a day off. I'll go in the morning. I went with Bob to take some of his suitcoats and pants to a store to get altered. Since he lost so much weight, they looked a tad sloppy on him. After that, he mentioned Red Lobster, so we stopped there for dinner. We ate plenty, and we still brought plenty home to heat up tomorrow. I love grilled shrimp.

Hi ladies-oh, I feel bad about that man's car and if I had his address I would send him some money-we didn't have any with us. I don't think he would have given us his address. I( still wrestle with the decision we made on the spot.
Tammy, I liked reading the bible in one year-I guess I got lazy. But then we went to a seminar back home and I was encouraged to only read a small amt of scripture at a time and meditate on it. And pray.
The cruise is Feb, 24 so we have lots of time to get ready-But it's flying by. I have so many things on my mind-wedding, taxes, Evan. But today i will get the epidural in my back and someone in Art class had it and said they were in pain after but it was worth it. Told Jill there was a chance I couldn't babysit.
Tammy-if we met halfway-it's an hour and a half for each of us. I said 45 minutes, I think you def should go to Tarpon Springs. If we weren't just coming home, I would go.

Mima, the bible reading is really going well for Melissa and I. We both write down comments and questions, then we compare notes and discuss when we get together. We are going to email when I'm gone so we don't get out of the habit. I agree about time flying by!! I have a list of things to take with us when we leave the 29th. I have a box that I'm throwing things in for the condo. I want to get suitcases out to put things in that we won't need till we get there, and just use a smaller suitcase for our stops on the way there.

I talked to Bob's niece, and she told me it would take maybe 45 minutes for me to get to Tarpon Springs, and she said I could handle the drive!! lol

Went to the Y this morning. It was snowing, and I considered staying in bed, but I was brave!!

Tammy = 45-60 min. is about right from Tampa to Tarpon Springs.. The traffic is heavy. March 2 sounds good.. I would meet you at the Greek Church if it is after the service. Or at the parking lot right in town.Or at the Kmart lot right at the corner of highway 19 and Tarpon Ave.That is where you will make a turn L to come into Tarpon.It would be nice if Mima could meet with us too...I can pm you my phone number..

Hi guys-it would take us 4 hours to drive up and we are getting back from our cruise the day before-that's the problem. Next year!!!
Well, the initial shot was no worse than when I get one for bursitis and so far I am not in worse pain than usual. Procedure only took a few minutes/ Brad went looking for the farmers market and got lost so I had to wait for him. I guess I can have Evan today and tonight I will go see Al in a play.

Tammy and Joanne - sounds like you two might get to meet. I sure hope so. Too bad Mima couldn't somehow get there as well. It is exciting. I have met a few of my internet friends and have enjoyed it very much. In fact a year ago, a gal from Georgia came and visited with us for almost 2 weeks. We had a really good time.

Mima - Hope the Epidural has kicked in. When I had one, I had to go to the hospital, where the Anathiseologist had to do it. Then, I had to stay there for an hour after, while they monitored my blood pressure. I don't have have high blood pressure. I didn't find it did much, and only ever had the one. Hope you have better results with it.

Anne, I really enjoyed the article you posted. I laugh out loud daily, so I guess I'm doing ok. There have been days that I didn't think I'd laugh, but sooner or later it pops out. I've also met several internet friends online. We've met in Indianapolis and Chicago. We had a great time.

Hope Explorer 7 helps you Mima!! I agree about Wal Mart. I'm there at least twice a week.

I spent the afternoon with Tim today. We had a nice visit. We went out for a late lunch and sat and talked. Finally we went back to his dorm and talked. I had only been in it right after he moved in this semester so things were a bit unorganized. It looked great! He does need something on his walls though. I offered to draw and color some pictures for me, but he passed on that idea.

I ate beef twice today, and I plan to eat it again tomorrow. I am going to attempt to give blood again on Monday. I've been rejected twice in the past month because my iron level has been too low. I've been taking a vitamin, and one of the nurses told me to eat beef a couple days before I tried the next time. I am eating all the right vegies, etc., so I don't know what the deal is. I have given blood for several years, and I have never had a problem.

We watched National Treasure last night. And I am sleeping better. 7 and a half hours.
Al's play was good-it was pretty adult for high school and she had a small part which she did perfectly only you couldn't hear her because of the music. So we had her say her lines to us. She looked so pretty-her friends help her wirh her hair and makeup. She is almost 18-can't believe it. Started to clean house for company coming this week. And next. We have to go to SS and see where we stand using passports instead of birth cert. Going to lunch with friends after church and Patriots play tonight-last game before the Superbowl. Mima

Well here's an answer to prayer-at least the start . Suzanne and Jim are going to church and Meranda is too. She loved it and wants to go next weekend. They all helped out at the church supper, I told her it's so great that Jim wants to go to. I waited my whole life for that. And I went through all the things that you guys do abput the disappointment when your husbands won't go. I am just grateful.
We are going to a chile party-I have to eat before I go. It's supposed to be fun!!!
And wow for the Patriots-I had my doubts. Now at least Eli Manning will have a chance-Tammy knows what I am talking about.

Hi. Kramer was at the doggy hotel this weekend since we were in and out so much. The owner called this morning, and Kramer had died during the night. Gary said that he was eating well and playing some yesterday, but then last night he just wanted to lay around. He hadn't been himself lately I do know that, and he just turned 14, but this is so hard. I'm meeting Tim part way this afternoon just to spend some time with him and we can give each other a hug.
Bob just left to go pick him up and take him to the vets to be cremated. No place to bury him here. I called one of the teachers and told her that I wouldn't be making it for the lunch date today. I know it's just a dog, but I am a mess.

Tammy- sorry about Kramer.. It is hard when they go.. They are part of our family.. We have had Christie only a year+ but we have gotten attached.. Louie thinks of her like a second daughter..14 is a good life for a dog.. It was time..We had a peke for 14 years. It upset louie when we had to put her down.. It took years for him to accept another dog.. Ofcourse we had our son's dog around a lot.. He lasted about that long. My son won't concider another dog yet..He has his ashes on his fireplace.
Cool her. 40's are cold to me..
I need to pay more attention to my diet.. I barely got my jeans on this am.. I will not get a larger size..
Mima- Why don't you get some netting and make your own bags..just cut a small square and tie with a ribbon,cheaper in the long run.

Bob talked to one of the vets, and she told him that with Kramer's health problems that he has had over the years (seizures, pneumonia), we are lucky that we had him this long. She said he was very unique for a dachsund because he didn't have a mean bone in his body.

Thanks for your comments about him! As of right now, I won't be getting any more pets. Too hard when you lose them.

Joanne, I've been journaling my food and going to the Y pretty regular now, and I hope to see a loss on the scales this week. Have you been out walking at all? I know you used to enjoy that.

Anne, how was the chiro appointment? I thought about trying to get in this week before we leave, but I'm not sure I'll get it done.

Met Tim halfway today just to exchange hugs and tears. We sat at Arby's for over 2 hours. Glad they didn't kick us out. It did both of us good.

Oh-Tammy-that is so sad . Cassidy went from running around to not getting up in one day. It was time. And you didn't have to make the decision to put him down.
Your life is different than when you were working so it might be the best idea to not have a pet. But we still look at other dogs with love. I can always visit Bobby's dog and take him for a walk. But then I don't have to take care of him. Again-that is so sad,

Our party was fun-they had this ice cream cake for dessert so I had to have some. And we had a trivia game about the 40's all the way to the 70's. Three of us won but then I won the coin toss!!! 2 beautiful picture albums for a prize-in time for the wedding. But one is black! And then we had a skit about someone flying an airplane in a snowstorm-the couple that did most of it are singers and actors in the senior music program. They go on a tour in March.
Brad will go to Mike's and put in another duct so Al won't freeze to death.
Haven't heard from Jessica-last time things were not good. her bf is too slick.

It's Evan day-haven't heard from my gf about her visit. But half my house is clean.

Mima, a few years ago we thought we were going to have to make the decision to put him down when he was so ill. We've had 4 good years with him since then. Tim thinks we should get another dog, but I told him that maybe when he is out on his own he could get one and we could have a grand-dog.

We leave for Georgia a week from today! It is sleeting, snowing, blowing outside today. I think we should leave today! lol

I got up and went to the Y this morning. I've been pretty faithful the past couple of weeks. I'm also journaling all of my foods. Weight loss sure isn't fast, is it? I'm still working on the 8 pound gain from medicine change and the holidays. One of these days that butterfly on my tracker will be clear at the right side!!!

Tammy-you are doing great. I think it's a good idea for Tim to get the dog. It's hard to have a dog and to travel.
Enter the mother-in-law. Suzanne was in tears because Jim's mother wanted to invite all his female relatives to the shower, also willing to pay for them. We hadn't talked to her yet-should have-so I called her and got Suzanne out of the loop. She is nice. He does have a lot of relatives and you can't invite one without the other-that's for sure. We have so few people in our family. Found out the flower girl is exactly Evan's age. that will be so cute.
Went to the SS office and got our Medicare-Evan was so good. Got the letter into the mail immediately.I hate when things are undone.

I definitely agree about it being hard having a pet and traveling. Since we are both retired now, we have taken Kramer to the Pooch Parlor quite a bit. I'm glad we had them though because they actually took an interest in him unlike other places that just put the dogs in a cage and don't do anything with them. I've still been pretty emotional about him being gone. I keep asking myself if I should have noticed something and should have taken him to the vet. Putting the blame on me I guess, and I know it was just his time.

We received a beautiful card about the Rainbow Bridge (pets in heaven) from the owners of the Pooch Parlor. They had also written a personal note inside. I cried.

I'm surprised that Jim's family just didn't have a shower for her. Maybe that's not proper, I don't know. That will be cute with Evan and the flower girl.

Went with hubby to the liver specialist today. He's pleased with how he is doing. He ordered blood tests to get done. I wondered why he didn't have him do that before the appointment, then we could have gone over the results. Now we'll have to call to find out. The doctor said he may change some of his meds.

Went to water aerobics tonight. I've gone as a "guest" because I didn't sign up this session since we'll be leaving. It was fun, and I know I'll miss it while we are gone. I did find out that the condo place we are staying has a room with treadmills, bikes, etc. That will be good since I've been getting into the habit at the Y lately.

For sure, Tammy, it will take a while. He was so much a part of your life. You sure didn't want to see him suffer. And 14 is a good age for a dog to live to. It will be better when you are away. Those people sure were wonderful to him. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Mima - sounds like you are sure keeping busy. Are you looking after Evan all the time? I know how tiring that can be. Chasing around a little one is a LOT of work, but you are sleeping better! Glad you enjoyed the concert. I don't understand why Suzanne wouldn't want her future relatives at the shower? It's completely normal to do that.

Tammy - not long before you leave. Next week? We decided after our cat died that we would not have any more pets, as we wanted to come and go as we pleased and not worry about housing a pet. I miss my cat, but it was the right decision for us. Glad you are doing so well on your diet and exercise program.

Joanne - I hope your tummy problems have settled down. I suppose it is nice and hot again in Florida. It is kind of cool here this morning - just below 0.

I am off to work this morning. Going to Edmonton this weekend. Have a massage booked for tomorrow morning and really, really, looking forward to it. Also, it the weekend for either GETTING my stressless chair, or for ordering it. If they only have black leather, then I will order another color. I sure don't want black. If they can get it from Ekornes warehouse in New Jersey it will take 4 weeks to get, otherwise, they have to order it from Norway, and it will take 4 MONTHS, so I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they have a color I like.

I take care of Evan 2 days a week-til 1:30. He was a bit active when the company was here. His "sheep" came flying over my head when we were having lunch. But we had such a nice time.
It's not that Suzanne doesn't want his family-actually Jim;s mother and everyone else is pitching in -not much was said before. It's all going to work out. She is sending out the invites this weekend.
We went to dinner with Mike at a Mexican restaurant-I had corn tacos with chicken. It was The other grandma's bd. Then I slept almost 9 hors. Yeah.
We invited the neighbors for dinner tonight but they thought it was last night and were waiting to come over. They are both deaf. Ha!
Tammy must be packing. It's cooler here but very nice. Mima

Mima, I agree about it being a blessing in disguise. We weren't going to be taking Kramer with us, but I know how I would have missed him and worried about him while we were gone.


Anne, we have pretty much made the decision about no more pets. A couple of my good friends were trying the other night to talk me into getting another dog as soon as we get home from our trip. They and their husbands all still work. We are retired, and we want to have the freedom to take off whenever we want. I don't think they understand that.

Tim came home this afternoon to spend some time with us. He laughed when he saw his bedroom. Luggage and boxes all over the place. He said it was a good thing he didn't want to take a nap! I have quite a bit packed. I still want to do some laundry to take some of the things that are in the laundry basket. I have a set of workout clothes packed, and the other set is ready for Monday morning. I'll wash those before we leave. Have to keep it up!
I haven't done anything today. Tomorrow after church I am going to a mall, so I'll get some walking in, but it won't be enough.

I certainly hope they have a chair in the right color for you Anne!!! I believe that as soon as we get home, I am going to go for a massage. I've had too many people talking about how great they feel. I had wanted to use that as a reward as soon as I get to a certain weight, but I might just do it before I get there.

Mima, I really like Mexican food. I always (or almost always) get a shrimp quesadilla at our favorite Mexican restaurant. I sometimes try other things, but I always go back to my usual.

We have been trying to use the foods in the freezer and the refrigerator. I had frozen cookie dough that I bought from my nephew, so Tim and I made cookies while he was here. He took half of them back with him, and we'll eat a few and then take the rest with us on the trip. Bob went to Wal Mart and bought some Pepsi, diet Pepsi, and bottled water to take along. We have some diet Sprite to take along too. I know there is a Wal Mart near where we will be staying, but I thought it would be nice to have a few things so we don't have to go to the store the first day there. I have some canned goods packed also.

I can see how much you are looking forward to your trip, Tammy. It will be so nice to get away form winter in Ohio even tho it might get cool where you are going.
We made spaghetti and had the neighbors over-then we were good and went for a long walk-I slept almost 9 hours last night.
I took a chance and went to a hairdresser at Walmart to get a body perm. It turned out really well! I got a bad haircut at the other place so didn't think I had much to lose!!!
Brad's sister is getting ready to go home from rehab. PTL after 9 months. When her trach fell out she wouldn't have it put back in. And she has been ok. Of course, it will still be a concern of the family but she wanted to go home so badly.

Yummy! Spaghetti!! That's great about the body perm. I've been going to the same person for over 20 years now, and I dread having to try someone else. I had a cut and color yesterday that I was desperate for. I think I'll end up having to have it done while we are gone. I can understand why Brad's sister would want to go home. I'm sure I'd be the same way. I am going to 2nd service this morning, so I don't have to leave here until 10:00. I enjoyed sleeping a little later.

Mima - A perm? I WISH I could have one of those, but I have way to much hair. It sure isn't made for a perm. It is usually ok though. I wash it, dry it and sometimes use the curling iron and it is good for a 2 or 3 days. It has great body.

Glad you had a good time at your Spagetthi dinner. I love that.

9 months is a looooong time. I would want to go home as well. Hope she will do alright.

Tammy - boy tomorrow is coming fast. Have a safe trip and I know you will get online as soon as you can. Having no more pets was the right choice for us. I enjoy my daughters cats when I go to visit, which is often.

Had a great weekend. Got to visit with my kids, and gkids. Our baby is growing up waaay to fast. She will be 2, already, in May.

I GOT my chair:carrot: It is absolutely wonderful. Also, ordered on for hubby, but it won't be in for another 4 - 6 weeks. Wanted the same color, and as lot and colors change, thought we had better get another. They only the one in stock, so I was really happy to get it. Also, had a great massage. It always hurts so bad when he is doing it, but feels so good later.

We're all going down on Fri. night Feb. 8 and spending the night. Should be good. Our Senior Director bought tickets and made hotel reservations a couple of months ago. Tammy, once again, so sorry about Kramer. After Sabrina, our Dobbie, died I was devastated. I would go to the door and start to open it to check on her. I would go look out the window to see where she was. I did this for months. It was horrible. I'd just be standing looking outside and feel the tears slide down my face. Same with our last little poddle, Allie. My bed just felt so empty after she died and eating pepperoni pizza just wasn't the same without her there to eat the pepperoni for me. I know just what you're going through. Losing a pet is not an easy thing. People who are not 'pet people' think we're nuts, huh? But the rest of us have a strong compassion for you girlfriend!

I'm quite a bit better. I started drinking a 'juice' supplement last week called MonaVie ... 2 oz morning and night. I can now bend 3 out of 4 fingers on my right hand all the way to my palm (which I haven't been able to do in years). Also, there was a gap between my ring and middle fingers so big I could get my left index finger between them and I couldn't even squeeze them together where they had drawn apart. Now they go together on their own. All this in less than a week. I've noticed that I can turn my head quite a bit further, too. Hubby and I became distributors of the juice ... it's cheaper if you're a distributor so we signed up. I'm going to keep taking it ... who knows ... I may be trying out for a marathon by summer! ;) I wish you all could try it ... it might help you, too. If you decide you'd like to try a bottle (one bottle lasts a week) let me know and I'll send you one in the mail. Warning, though, it's kind-of expensive. I asked hubby if he was sure we could afford it. He finally got back on days (thank you Lord) but he had to take a pretty sizable pay cut to do that. Hi-I started sleeping after I got that injection. Love getting 8 hours-that's the only thing I did differently.My back still hurts but it is better, Now my shoulders hurt-def need a massage, I put it off because my back hurt last time but now I know what to tell him. I bought a frame to cross stitch-not what I expected but I taped my hoop to it. Still got shoulder pain not using left hand.
I am so glad you got your chair, Anne . awesome. And I ma glad you had a nice time. Love seeing those babies.

Meme, that's cool that all of you are going to be able to attend the concert! It is nice to know that you guys can all relate to how I'm feeling about Kramer. I just opened a Tupperware container, and I tried to do it as quietly as I could because K would always come running. Even when we opened the drawer where we keep the Tupperware, he would come running.

I have heard good things from many people about Monavie. The aunt of a friend of mine talked to me about it. I tried it for almost 2 months, and I kept thinking that since it worked for so many others, it had to work for me. I guess it's like medicines. Some works, and others don't. The Monavie didn't work for me. I was sooooooooo disappointed, but I am happy for people that it works for. I'm thrilled that it is working for you!!!!!

Mima, glad that you are sleeping better. Hope you had fun with your gf for lunch. That's neat about the dresses being different styles. That way one person doesn't stick out if the style isn't made for her shape. I need to get a new dress for my niece's wedding in June. I keep thinking maybe I'll lose some more before then.

Bob's son was here earlier today. While here he received a phone call from school that his 6th grader was ill, so he had to leave to go pick him up. Bob and his son have just started being more in contact with each other the past few years. His wife and I tried for years, but we finally gave up. I think the guys have decided that it's time. I'm glad. Tim is too. He has 2 nephews! 4th grader and 6th grader.

The people acroos the street who are going on the cruise are dealing with clothing issues-he only likes to wear tshirts and shorts. You have to dress up for the Captains dinner-but Brad told him no more waffling and he has to bring a wheelchair which we can borrow from the park. He is going to be 84.
Debbie was sick and Angela brought her to the emergency room and she had to get an IV-She's due on April 17 so they most likely will miss the wedding. Time will tell.

Those chairs do sound neat. Hubby and I were just talking tonight about maybe getting a sectional. Our couch is so hard ... I hate it. Plus, if we had a sectional, we could seat more people in the livingroom ... sigh ... maybe someday.

Anne, I don't do perms anymore, either. I used to get them all the time but I finally figured out that all they do is frizz my hair out and then the ends break off. My hair is naturally frizzy anyway. I have to wash it at night, put it in hard rollers and dry it under a dryer, then I can use a curling iron on it for a day or two after that and it's ok. I don't wash it every day. It's really dry.

I can't believe Tim is nearly 20. Of course, I can't believe my oldest g-son is almost as tall as I am either. (I'm getting old!) :(

But ... on the up side ... I'm feeling better. We had a line of thunderstorms pass through today and I didn't have to stay in bed all day. Sami has to go in the garage when it thunders ... scares her to death. I went down in the middle of the day during a lull in the storms to let her out for a few minutes. Took the stairs instead of the elevator and I was at the bottom of the steps before I even realized it. I stopped for a minute to reflect on this. I was like, how did I get here so fast. I'm just amazed. (And very, very thankful ... God is good!)

We went to the RR club in the morning and a thrift store in the PM. Callie bought himself 2 jackets and 3 shirts. A tie, and a luggage case for $25. He went from saying no way to getting dresses up to being so happy he found the jackets. Dorothy and I didn't find anything but that's alright. I need to spread out my clothes to see what I have. I am going to buy my wedding shoes and take them-need sandals because of that stupid toe.
Art today-church tonight. I haven't cooked since Sat-that's ok with me.
Evan is going to start Nursery school but Jill said I could still take him but one day a week would be better.

Hi all! We are at Jekyll Island, GA, at a Days Inn. We move into the condo tomorrow. It will be nice to get settled in.

Went to Ortho doc-I am getting 2 more treatments. A friend called me and she went to get a treatnebt yesterday-she has 2 bulging disks and a fractured one. Yikes.
Then I went to the Mall-walked and walked-found a dress at Sears but wasn't sure of the color. When I got home I decided I wanted it=it's mauve-and they are holding it, Now here's the good news-I thought it was half price but its marked down 35.99 from 120!!! That sure will pay for the alterations.
Because it's not a petite so I have to have the shoulders of the inside dress taken up and the sleeves of the jacket shortened.
Now for the shoes!!!! I need glittery sandals with a small heel.
Brad and I have symptoms of a cold. And Jill does too. If she feels alright. Evan is coming.

Our condo is very nice. We still haven't been to the grocery. Doing that after church tomorrow. Bob said he is going with me!!!! Since we haven't been to the grocery, we've been eating out. I feel like I've been making good choices. I brought our bathroom scales with us to help me stay on track. Weighed this morning, and I was the same as when we left home. Made me feel good.

I had emails from friends and Tim about the weather at home. They had ice/snow/sleet. Just yucky. Glad we are here.

Grandma Sandy and I are taking Alison shopping for her prom/wedding dress. I guess all that money I saved will be put to good use. Jill doesn't want to go but that's a good thing because Alison is girly and her Mom is not.

We passed a superwalmart when we were driving around on Friday. I think that's where we are headed after church. We went to this church when we were here at Christmas a couple years ago. Different pastor now I saw. Last time it was a woman, this is a man. It's supposed to be close to 70 here today. Upper 70's the next 2 days. Nice.

Have fun shopping for Alison's dress. I'm sure you'll find a nice one for her.
I ate some ice cream last night - strawberry cheesecake. It was very good.

Mima - great deal on your dress. It' s always nice to get a bargain. Hey, we are coming out of the deep freeze here. Hope Brad feels better. You didn't get it?

Tammy - glad you arrived safe and sound. Those SuperWallmarts are so big. There is a new one in Edmonton and it is a block long! I hardly ever GO to Wallmart, only when my daughter comes. She LOVES Wallmart, and I don't. They are building a SuperWallmart not far from here. Of course, I will go look, but I just don't ever go there.

We have been living in the deepfreeze for the past week. On Monday it was -48 out with the windchill, and in some places -55 and colder. The daytime temp. for Tuesday was -38 without the windchill and the wind was blowing so hard. It was a time to hibrinate. Hans just came home and picked me up and took me to work, and then he took the car and plugged it in at work. We use block heaters, or it would NEVER start when it's that cold. Getting a two truck was taking up to 4 days, so you sure didn't want it not to start. Yesterday was a beautiful day, sunny and it felt like a heatwave, as it was 10F. Hopefully that is the last of the Arctic Air for this winter. The GROUNDHOG said we will have 6 more weeks of winter!

Tammy, not far from where you are now is a place called St Marys.. You can go there spend a night and then take the boat to a island(forgot the name). Our daughter took us last year.. It is so historical there you will think you are back in the 1800's.. I loved it. It is a day trip. go in the morning back before dark..Take a picnic.. They have a guided tour or you can wonder by yourself.. You won't regret it..It is wonderful..

I went to church with Joyce, We have a big week coming up -something every day, Today we are going to a train store in Sarasota, tomorrow Joyce wants to go to Mrs. Edison.s hymn sing-a tradition down here-Wed is the opening of the big Missionary conference, Thurs I will get my back treatment, Fr is a meeting with the missionary assigned to our class-she runs a Pregnancy center that the church helps fund and Sat is the Dinner. And back to Sunday.
That Superbowl was one good game. I didn't like the ending! Haha!! But the Giants fans did. Unbelievable that they won all their games and lost the Superbowl.
I talked to Jessica. her mother had the baby-now she has a sister younger than Caleb. Winter Elizabeth-I like the Elizabeth!

Hi everybody. We have rain, rain and more rain here. I hurt a little today but not really bad. Mainly my foot and ankle. My hands were a little swelled but nothing to really write home about. I'm thrilled with the MonaVie. We're supposed to have more thunderstorms tomorrw afternoon and tomorrow night then the rain is supposed to end on Wednesday finally. Hubby took some MonaVie to a woman he works with whose husband has Lupus Friday and she said he told her he was already feeling some better this morning (Mon). I sure hope it works for him because he is in bad shape.

Sometimes I think we support the Wal Mart here. Sometimes I go two or three times a week. Hubby and I were talking the other night ... we decided that we need to stay out of WM as much as possible this year and stop eating out so much. He had to take a sizable pay cut when he went on days so we are going to need to make that up somehow! He said they may change his hours next month. He is working from 9 to 5:30 now, which stinks. He doesn't have time to do anything else on those hours. He leaves at 8:30 and doesn't get home until 6. They may change his hours to 6 to 2:30. That would be great because then he would be home to run the business in the afternoons and I could teach again. I'm actually looking forward to that now that I feel better!

Tomorrow is voting day ... hope it's not raining.

Good morning. Brad has such a terrible cough. Perhaps I need to get5 him some cough med-the Nyquil doesn't do that much for it.
This week is going to be pared down, although we went to Sarasota yesterday to the train store-Brad got some stuff he can't get down here.
One day at a time. We don't want to give this to our elderly friends-more elderly than us.
Friends of Brad's are coming down and they want to stay with us for a couple of days-not the best time but we can play it by ear. Right now, is not good.

Anne, I don't think I could handle living where it would get that cold. I know it isn't for very long, but I hate to be cold.

Joanne, we picked up a brochure about St. Marys and Cumberland Island (I think). We have that on our list of things to do while we are here. Not sure about the island. Bob gets tired so easily, so I don't know if going to the island would be a good idea since we'd have to wait for the boat to take us back.

Meme, the rain has to be getting old. I know it is raining back home, and they have flood watches out everywhere. The walmart here isn't real close, so I think we'll be hitting other places instead. That is great that you are feeling good enough to want to teach again!!!!

Mima, I have a cough also. I'll probably end up getting something to take , but I don't know what yet. Bob's brother called last night and said he and his wife are thinking about driving up from Tampa for a visit. I quickly mentioned hotels in the area that have reasonable prices. I didn't want him thinking that they could stay here with us. Hope that isn't too mean.

We are heading to St. Simon's Island today. I've already been out for a walk, and I still need to take a shower. Bob is in there now. It's to get to upper 70's today! I plan to wear shorts or capris. Bob will still be cold, so he'll probably be wearing a sweatshirt.

I slept most of the day yesterday. I think it was a fibro kind of day. I did get out and walk a couple times though.

Glad you are having warm weather-it was hot here yesterday.
Evan is getting the cold -Brad is better-got him some diabetic cough syrup. I am still wheezing and the tree pollen is high.

It was in the 80's yesterday, and I was loving it! We walked out on the beach, and then we walked in the historic district of Jekyll Island. My cough/cold isn't getting any better. I did take Nyquil last night so I was able to get some sleep. I'll be taking it again tonight.

Mima, when do you leave on the cruise? That is cool about the virtual pics! My niece is having black dresses for her bridesmaids, and they'll be carrying red roses, I think.

It just started raining. Sounds neat on the bedroom window. Bob is in the living room snoozing on the couch, so I brought the laptop in here.

We have been gone from home for over a week, and I haven't bought myself anything yet!!!!!! Bob bought a sweatshirt yesterday for himself. I was checking out some bracelets in one shop.

Hello Everybody- Just a short message.. I am really busy. Our daughter and G/son coming in tonight.. Her Father/I/L has been in hospital over 2 months.. he will never come out .. Things looking worse every day.. SIL has been here off and on the whole time.. It is beginning to look like he is giving up..She will only be here the weekend .
I haven't been feeling so good either.. Still having chest discomfort and now the knee that has a replacement is giving me a problem..It feels like it is giving away every now and then.I have a Dr. appointment next month..
It is warm here. We should cool down in the next couple days.. I wish we would get some of the rain you guys are getting..

Mima - Mocha sounds nice. I have forgotten when the wedding is? Glad you found some shoes, now you just have to hope they will fit ok. I have a terrible time finding shoes. You would think they would make more narrow ones, but they don't seem to. Hope Brad smartens up. It does so much damage when the sugar is high. However, YOU cannot force him to follow the diet. My aunt has the same problem with my uncle!!

Joanne - I am sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well. That is the pits. It's nice that you will get to visit with your daughter, but sorry about the why of it. If the FIL is so ill, I hope that he won't last for long. It must be terrible to just "linger".

Anne, we will get back to Ohio about March 6 I think. We left on Jan. 29. We are already discussing doing this again next year, and possibly for a longer time. Going to check some other places, but this one is pretty nice. I'm glad you didn't have to go out into the snow!! Staying home sounds like a great idea.

We went to the store again today for necessities. bottled water, ensure for Bob, cough drops for me, soup, 100-calorie packs of different snacks.
Then we ate lunch out. We split a club sandwich and fries. It was filling but not overly filling.

We went to hear our class Missionary-a local lady who runs a place for pregnant teenagers. What an inspirational story of what she is doing and how those girls are. It made me think so much of Jessica but her bf seems to be standing by her. She has expressed an interest in finding a church and reading the Bible so I am going to encourage her. She went to a Christian school for a year and lots of Vacation Bible schools. I think it planted a seed.
Tammy-so glad you are enjoying yourself. Time goes by so fast-2 months from now, we will be home. I have so much to do before we go on a cruise=one day at a time.
2 more weeks of Evan and then he will go to preschool. He is obsessed with numbers-constantly counting things-he seems to understand the relatioinship between the number and the amt, Now I am teaching him subtraction-8 crackers and you ate 2 so there are 6 left. He even picked up his toys, I have enjoyed every minute.

We took a walk today, and I found a float that used to be used on fishing nets years ago. Well this one wasn't old. They start putting them out on Jan. 1 through the end of Feb., one a day, and I was lucky enough to find one! It has blues, greens, and purples. It is glass. I have looked at them in shops, and one this size would cost $65-70!!! I was so excited! We took it to the visitor's center to register it. There was a woman there who said she has been out walking the beach many days and hadn't found one yet. Good morning-we went to the missionary dinner-today they will encourage everyone to commit to something-there are local things like the food bank, clothes closet, etc.
It's official-Bobby and Pam are a couple. He wondered how I knew-all he talks about is her. What am I -under a rock???I am glad for him. He's been after her for 2 years-even her parents were trying to convince her-he sure won't have any in-law trouble!!! They think of him as an adopted son.
After Subday school, we will look for my shoes and then meet our friends for lunch. We haven't been with them in a while.
The air is better here. But the med hasn't fully kicked in.
Good thing I made Brad some muffins yesterday because they didn't rise=have to replace my baking powder before I make the cake!!! I wish I had known when I was shopping, You can't just run into a store.

We didn't eat out all weekend!! All meals were here at the condo. Well, we did go for ice cream, but that doesn't count.

Hello. Mima, hope you found your shoes. Hope Brad has lost the case of the CRABBIES! Too bad about the muffins, but at least you found out something important before you baked a cake. I can't BELIEVE little Evan is growing up so darn fast. Seems he was just a baby.

Tammy - glad you are having a good time. Those floats look nice - good for you finding one. That is the nice thing about having a condo. It has everything you need, except food. I always prefer to eat in (well once in awhile I don't mind going out). It is easier on my stomach to eat what I cook.

My daughters FIL died this morning. It was a blessing. He has been in the hospital 2 1/2 months. I will have a house full after tuesday for the rest of the week..Wonder where they all will sleep.. I guess my G/son will make a pallet on the floor.. He won't mind.. If he doesn't bring his girl friend it will work out ok..

Yes, I got my shoes-I went to 3 stores before lunch and after I saw another store called Carnival and I found size 5 and a half. he heel is a bit higher than I wanted but I will take them off if have to=haha!!!
We had our rugs cleaned yesterday=had to go out to eat because they came late.
Cake was not as moist as I would like and I had to double up on the frosting which was very good-heavy cream, splenda and cocoa. I would add sour cream or something to make it more moist 0r????? Any bakers here. Hay Meme/
Don't know when our guests will be here. Today and tomorrow would not work. Everything is piled up in the extra br. and I don't want to put it back because the rug is damp-just a bit.

Joanne - my condolenses to you and your family. When somebody is so sick and there doesn't seem like any hope of getting better, then it is better to be released. That sure doesn't make it easier on those that are left behind.

I hope that you have not gotten yourself worn right out and that you are feeling somewhat better.

Mima - Glad you got your shoes. Now you are ready to go! Clean rugs will be nice. Unless I do them myself, I can't stand to be in the house. The stuff these use, drives me nuts - my eyes and nose run, and I get all stuffed up, and a MAJOR headache. It's from whatever they use to kill stuff. Did you use oil, or something in that cake, Mima? That is what makes it moist. Sometimes, if they bake just a tad to long, they dry out as well.

Not doing much today myself. Have enjoyed the past 3 days OFF. I have been reading books. The weather went from 30 below to over 30 above and the pain levels did about the same. When it's really cold, it is so dry, but my pain levels are low. Then comes the warm weather, and snow!! Gosh, one just can't win :lol:

Anne, it really is nice having the condo with a full kitchen. A couple of places we looked at just had small refrigerators, a couple of burners, and a microwave. This is great with the full size ref., full stove with the oven. Plus the microwave! We also have a diswasher, but we haven't used it at all.

Joanne, sorry to hear about daughter's FIL. I know it's hard with all of the relatives coming in, but please take care of yourself!!

Anne, I've read 2 books since we've been here. Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy, and Blow Out by Catherine Coulter. I am also reading the Bible each day.

I told hubby this morning when we were at the grocery, that I just felt tired. Well, I came home and went in on the bed at 11:00. I woke up at 2:40! I couldn't believe that I had slept that long!! I feel better though!

Our company got here and I got up at 4 to do my reading etc, I will go back to bed.
Our church has a library and I went in for the first time. Ted Dekker books all over the place-I have 3 -can bring them on the cruise.
We have a guardian angel named Angela's father. He called to tell us about the flooding and went to our house to check=the new sump pump wasn't working-he took it apart and fixed it. The flooded part is right next to the new apt. Josh is probably away.
Stanley Steemer cleaned the rugs-but then Brad had them spray the scotch guard. I didn't have a problem. I didn't get the bedrooms done.
Happy valentine's Day to all-guess we will have to have a delay in it because of our company.
Don't know what we will do today. Whatever the company wants. He got a speeding ticket on the way down-Brad felt bad because he sent him on a short cut with a lower speed limit.
I am glad you people are getting rest, except Joanne. You can rest next week with us here.

Well ,this day is almost over. Very hectic.. Everyone gone except daughter and her hubby. They will go home tomorrow.All day at funeral and family dinner .. I came home and so far have done 3 loads of wash. Walked christy a long walk as she was locked up in crate all day..I still can't leave her loose in house without suppervision. She will tear up everything she can get in her mouth.I don't know if she will ever calm down!!
The service was really nice and well planned although very long..
bed time will not come soon enough although we probably won't get there till at least 10-11 pm.Oh Well I don't see my daughter that often.. She will be back next month I guess..

Good morning-just got woken up with a phone call from my neighbor-her husband was taken to the hospital at 12:3o am . I think I am going to stay with her-they are the ones who are supposed to go on the trip with us. Probably not.
Our company is here. She is a non-stop talker. They found a house for 8,000 here, Unbelievable-marked down from 25,000 last year. His wife got sick.
Not sure how that closeness would work . She is nice and he is a love.

Hope you didn't over-do with so much company. I still have to keep my puppy in the bathroom when I'm away, too. Still can't trust her on her own. I have friends who have a dog just turned 3 and they just started leaving him alone in the house around Christmas. She said she put an old spread on the bed for him to lay on and came home from church the other Sunday and he was on the good spread with the old spread on top of him. ;)

Have to call other people to pray for this ladies' grandson. Between those things and having company I am stressed. I think they will only be here for a few days-then they can go in their house. I haven't been to Goodwill for a while. I do hit a consignment shop at home though for larger clothing for women.

Meme, your friend's dog sounds like things Kramer used to do! We would leave him in Tim's room with a cushion and a blanket on the recliner for him. So many times we came home and he would be under the blankets on Tim's bed OR in one of the pillowcases!! Sure miss that silly dog.

i had an allergic attack yesterday-didn't go to the parade but I feel better today. I thought I was getting sick again. Joan went to emergency to get checked out by doc . It's a virus going around-NOT covered by the flu shot.
They got some mattresses yesterday. At Goodwill and brandnew.
They said everything at Goodwill is sanitized.
Man across the street came home-he is ok and good to go as Rachel Ray says. That sure is a blessing.
Suzanne went to price a cake-$700 plus delivery. I told her to get another price but I checked where Angela's cake was bought and it was over $500 now.

2 am and I'm still up again. It's supposed to rain/snow here again this week. My ankle is hurting pretty bad tonight but everything else is still much better than it has been in a long time. Hubby's brother has been drinking MonaVie for a couple of weeks and his arthritis is a lot better. He came by this weekend and got a couple of bottles for someone else. He didn't say who.

Life is running pretty smoothly here ... nothing to complain about ... or maybe I should say (whine) about. Some of us (women) are doing a monthly bible study ... we're reading and sharing in the book "Big Girls Don't
Whine." We're in our second month and two chapters in I have surprised myself. I told hubby I figured I would find that I whine A LOT but I'm relating more on the BIG GIRL side of the fence. He said I don't whine "much". :D I told him 'of course he HAD to say that to my face.' ;) I'm also surprised at how much the 'Little Girl' reminds me of how my mom was. Uncanny. Not in all ways but in many ways she was like the little girl in the book.

Joanne, it rained here this morning, and we were under a tornado watch. I don't blame you and Christie for not liking to be out in the rain.

I ended up going to convenient care today. I have a sinus infection. I had to get an antibiotic, a nasal spray, and a strong cough med. sure hope it helps! Tim is flying down on Thursday, and I want to feel good enough to do things while he is here.

I bet you will feel better by Thurs. Hot and Sour soup helps my sinuses drain.
I need to get ready for the cruise. If I iron, that will help. Evan is coming today.
I swam and walked yesterday, Brad wanted to walk, and even though it hurts my back after, I went because he needs it for his sugar. We went to a thrift store and consignment and they got a porch table and chairs. I think they can go by themselves to get insurance.
I have to get my nails done and I think I will get a haircut. Just a trim. The shower invites are also out. Yesterday I had my Mickey and Minnie painting made into 30 notecards and a tray-$50 but it's cute. Now I will get a shirt that says Army Wife and a bumper sticker and a bride shirt. And a nightgown. Still working on the cross stitch. Also have to make a mickey mouse garter. And get a large bag to put it all in.

A few years back ,I had a sinus infection.. I was in so much pain I thought I was going to die. We were up at our daughters. . She took me to a country doctor. He spent a life time explaining to my hubby and daughter what was going on with me.. I was laying on the exam table crying!!!He finally wrote a script and sent us on our way.. At least I was out of pain soon..He called us the next day to see if I was alive.. Ofcourse ,maybe because the daughter owned the biggest ranch in the area..I never want to go through that again..
Getting my hair trimed today..The ironing is piled up . I need to get to that..
We didn't get much rain yesterday.. It is a little cooler. Nice..I too need to walk more.. Guess I am going to have to dust off the T/Mil..
Hello Everybody....Joanne

Those of you who have sinus infections and or allergies (or even if you don't) you need to get a NetiPot. They are wonderful. They clear your head out so you can breathe again. I got mine at WalMart for ... I believe $15 or so. It came with 50 packs of saline solution and you can buy more when you run out. You boil water or use distilled (I just boil mine). Use warm water and disolve the pack of saline solution in it in the little NetiPot. The pot is shaped like a tea pot with a small hole in the spout. You put the spout on one nostril and tilt your head to one side over the sink and let it pour freely in and it runs through your sinuses washing them out and comes out the other side. You use half the solution then blow gently through your nose and then do the other side. It feels great. Doesn't hurt at all. One thing to remember, though, is to breathe through your mouth during the process or the water flow will stop. You should really try it.

More rain/snow and cold here the rest of the week, until Sat. Ankle still giving me fits. At least I can be thankful that the rest is not hurting. Oh well, I'm a couch potato ... catching up on my internet and reading. Sounds like Mima is catching up on her shopping. :p

Anyway, I was saying the same thing as Meme. Get a Netipot. Wonderful. Simple to use and feels really good.

I am going to Florida on the 25 Feb. My hubby has decided to buy a car from there, so we are flying down to get it, and then will drive it home. As far as I am concerned, it is the only way for me to travel and see things. I will stop in Chicago on the way home and visit my gfriend. Also, will stop in Georgia and Wyoming to visit a couple of other friends.

I will be busy, because I will be in Ft. Lauderdale, lots to see there, will drive up to Cape Canavarel and then into Orlando. We won't be in Florida that long, but I plan to see stuff while I am there. Are the EVERGLADES by Ft. Lauderdale???

The cost of everything is ridiculous right now, Mima. I wish it would go down some, but it isn't likely, but $700.00 for a cake, seems a bit extreme. Is it a fruit cake? Most people here don't want fruitcake anymore, so they get chocolate or carrot cake made. I guess that was why my daughter rented a cake. She then had a Danish Wedding Cake that she served, and it is soooo good. Made with Marzipan. She got Laura Secord Chocolates in a little box with their name on it in place of the traditional wedding cake. They did get pictures of them cutting the phony cake, and you can't tell by the picture that it was.

I got my hair cut today too! I got up this morning, and my hair looked awful. It has grown so much! I stopped in a beauty shop and made an appointment for 4. She was really a nice lady! She is originally from Indiana not far from where Tim is going to school! Small world.

Joanne, I've still been getting my walking in here. In fact, we just got back from a walk down to the gazebo by the beach. It was so pretty with the moon shining on the ocean! I told Bob that I could live here, but then I thought about the summer heat.

Meme, I have heard of those netipots, but I didn't know how they worked. Right now my worst problem is the coughing. I cough so hard that I come so close to getting sick. I've scared Bob several times when I've done that. Hope that ankle gets better, but if you're like me, surfing the internet and reading can be quite entertaining!!

Anne, are you going to Disney World? We will be there on Feb. 28 and 29. My nephews are marching in the parade with their high school band on the 29th. Bob said that the Everglades are close to Ft. Laud, but he didn't know how close.

My aunt made our wedding cake as her wedding gift to us. Sure wish I had a piece of it right now!

We've been doing lots and lots of talking, and I think we may come here in Jan. and Feb. next year. It's not as warm as it would be further south, but we really like the area.

OK guys-the Everglades are about an hour south of here and Ft lauderdale is 2 hours away accross the state. Not sure how you get there from Ft Lauderdale. We will be there on the 24th to get the boat.
Brad's cough is terrible-don't know if it;s a new virus or complications from the other one. And we have 5 days to get better!!!!
Our friends had a bit of trouble-a different inspector came and told the former owner he needed to do all kinds of LITTLE things but they overreacted, not knowing how things go around here. Inspectors always get crazy when a unit is sold-of course that's why we have such a pretty park.
I stayed up late watching IDOL and slept much later. Idol was very good=such talent.
Don't know how you can stop in GA and Wyoming and Chicago??? But then I am geographically challenged. But I sure am glad you will take that trip.

Mima - we will have just missed each other. You are leaving on the 24 and me arriving on the 25. Bad timing for us :lol: I hope you have a wonderful time. You still have not told me where you are going on this cruise, and how long you will be gone. I hope Brad feels better before you venture out.

We will be in Florida for a few days, then drive to Georgia. From there we will make our way to Chicago, and then straight across to Wyoming, up to Montana and then into Alberta and home. Seems logical to us :lol:

Tammy - I don't think we will go to Disneyworld. My hubby isn't all that interested in doing that, and I have been to Disneyland in California, and we really don't have that much time. There are a few things I want to see, however.

That is very logical for someone who lives in the Western part of Canada.We have a pretty straight shot North when we go home.
We are going to Nassau, Grand cayman and Jamaica and a couple of days at sea. 6 Days, We will go there on Sunday and return the following Sat, Then it won't be that long til we leave. I must remember to take it one day at a time.
Angela is already trying to get me to babysit when I get home-she's due for the baby around the 17th of April. I certainly can't take care of Keith. And Debbie is Adhd. If it wasn't for the wedding, I could volunteer but I am the wrong one to count on. We don't even have heat in our house.
Yesterday we bothwent to doc and Brad is on an antibiotic and an inhaler-I am just wheezy-his sugar is high and his diabetes is the reason he is not healing. Poor guy-all he does is cough.
And Joan-who just stayed with us, is in the hospital with pneumonia. That flu is wrecking havoc and it was not covered by the flu shot.
I got another spinal shot-this time it wasn't too bad, That's it-just another appt with him.
I have to finish packing today but all the washing and ironing is done. I do want to get a haircut and nails done. Oh vanity!

Hello Meme- I don't believe I could live through another puppy.. Christie is almost 1 1/2 years old and still driving me up the wall.. She has ruined every throw rug in the house. I won't buy anymore till she is much older..I have to watch her all the time.. Constant babysitting..I have to find a solution..My s/i/law says another 6 months should change things.. I have had lots of dogs. Never a pug.. She is so much different..She gets bored easy and then makes me pay..If I leave the house I crate her.. I crate her if I have something to do and can't watch her and when we go to bed..

Joanne, Tim will be flying out of Brunswick this Sunday afternoon. I wish he could stay longer, but he has to get back to classes. He missed Thurs. and Fri. classes to come down.

Mima, there is a nice campground on the north end of Jekyll Island. I don't know prices or anything.

Tim got in yesterday afternoon, so we've been busy doing things. It sure is nice having him here!!!

Sounds like you are all busy as well. I think we all need to slow down. Hubby and I have been talking about that the last couple of nights. I just got out from under the Coordinator of Education job at church last month and now they want me to start a children's choir and to also start a 'learning' program 2 Wednesday nights a month where they memorize bible facts like the books of the bible, the 10 commandments, etc. They already have classes on Wed. nights but they want me to take the whole group twice a month and work with them using music and maybe games or competitions. I used to do this stuff all the time. I don't work as fast as I used to ... ;)

Joanne ... I have the same problems as you. I don't have many throw rugs, just in the bathrooms and I keep the door closed on one (or she gets in the trash) and the other one is big so I have half of it gated and the other half is where Ginger stays when I have to lock her up. She pretty much stays out except for when I'm eating or gone. She sleeps with me. I think giving her so much out time and freedom has helped her a lot. She isn't as hyper as she used to be. She still goes wild when hubby comes home in the evening ... she loves him to death. She thinks he should just drop everything and play with her. She's also wild when the kids come over. She settles down after a little while, though. The girls carry her around like a baby ... one spoiled little dog! :p Right now she's on my bed asleep ... she always sleeps when I get on the computer. She's about stopped having 'accidents', too. I'm really happy about that. She goes out most of the time but if she can't go out she uses the paper in her 'room' ... which she has thankfully stopped eating! :eek:

Son's family all have the flu ... DIL and both the kids, Daughter's little one, Jenna, has strep and her hubby has another kidney stone. When it rains it pours. Flu is rampant here. They have closed schools in 2 or 3 of the counties around us and there's talk of closing our schools. It has swept through our church, too. I didn't get a flu shot but I'm hearing it doesn't work on this stuff anyway. Hope I don't get it. One of my best friends have it. Hope you all have a great weekend.

We had Evan here-he wet his pants again-on my couch and clean rug,

Suzanne got her wedding ring to match her diamond and she said it's beautiful. She also told me that Pam is moving in with Bobby. He knows how I feel about that so HE hasn't told me. When is that wedding??? I already know her parents and they are awesome.
Went to see Joan in the hospital and she is much better and coming home today. She has MA insurance so she has to pay for the hospital what Medicare doesn;t pay. $500. When Brad had his $87,000 surgery, we didn't pay a cent-just small fees for the visting nurse and copays.
Brad's sister is home-amazing-her daughter is bringing her to church tomorrow. That is amazing,
Got a letter from my adopted cousin who is in jail-We did send him some money but I also witness to him and some of it is working. He has been in jail most of his adult life-he was born brain damaged and gets in trouble all the time. Auntie sent him money all the time-he knows how to con very well.
Auntie has anemia and she has to go to a hemotologist. She does have pernicious anemia. She is worried she has leukemia. I hope they can fix her.

Meme - FLU season is the pits. A lot of it died off here, when it got to 30 below. That cold HAS to be good for something.

Joanne - training a puppy is a hard job. Some dogs never seem to learn, however. I like Labs, because they learn fast and are pretty smart dogs. I never had much problem with our dog after the first 6 months. He would ome tell me when he wanted to go outside. He did still get into mischief, however.

Tammy - glad that Tim joined you. Enjoy your time. That "time" sure goes fast.

We are leaving today for Edmonton, so I won't "talk" to you again until the 10 March.

We got dumped on yesterday and today. About 3" of snow accumulated. If it had all laid it would have been much more. Hubby left his phone at work and said his truck didn't do well in snow so he took my phone and van this morning. I got up and had an app. to have my nails done at 1:15 ... the roads looked clear so I decided to take his truck and go. Right at 1 it started to snow again. I was afraid to drive his truck to town in the snow with no phone so I had to go to my in-laws (down the road) and get their phone. (We bought their phone and they are on our minutes.) I went in when I took the phone back and sat awhile, MIL said they didn't use the phone because she couldn't remember how. I explained it again. She said she understood but would forget. I handed it to her and said, do it. She said she couldn't ... I showed her how to bring up her contacts and push send and said now do it. She messed up and I said, that's ok ... push end and start again. I did it again and handed it back and said, do it, again. She did it that time. I pushed end and said, do it again. She did it two or three more times and smiled and said, that's easy. I told hubby the next time he was over there he had to get the phone and make her do it again before she forgot how. My best friend said her MIL couldn't read her caller ID or even play a tape on her VCR ... she said her own mom said she had several messages on her cell phone and asked her if she'd get them off for her ... said she didn't know who they were from or how to get them off. She said she listened to them and they were from her mom ... she'd been calling her voice mail and talking to herself saying stuff like, 'I don't know what I'm doing', and 'I don't know who this could be from', or 'how do I get this thing to work', etc. and somehow had been recording herself talking. I said if I ever get like that just to shoot me. :p (that may not be too far in the future!) ;)

Good morning-we got back home at noon yeterday. And had a great cruise, even with dealing with our elderly neighbors who like the buffet upstairs better than the lovely dining room. The first thing Callie did was stay on the elevator when we got off.
Have a wonderful meeting Joanne and Tammy. It will be nice. Next year we will plan again. I now have something that makes me cough-even wondering if I should go to church. I was very bad eating ice cream the last couple of days.
So much news fron the family. Alison is fine. my brother bought a trailer pad in a nice park in Bowling Green FL. For next year. They will sell their camp in VT.
My nephew is dating a girl that is a friend of Bobby's gf. He also is almost 33. Bobby and Pam might come down for Easter. Suzanne had the flu.
And the replies to come to the wedding are coming in. Not many refusals yet. And Angela said that her mucous plug broke and she is 33 weeks along-wants to make it to 35.

Meme, I told Bob that now that I'm a world traveler (well, maybe not the world), I should just jump in the van and come to Tennessee sometime to meet you. He agreed!! I was definitely chuckling about the woman and that cell phone! Bob can be the same way at times.

Joanne, it was wonderful to meet you and Eleni today!!!!! I had a wonderful time. The food was delicious!!!! I told Bob that I know he would enjoy coming to Tarpon Springs. We picked up a small pamphlet here at the hotel, and he thought it would be a nice trip.

When I went to pick him up, his younger brother's car was gone. Bob said that he had gone with his brother and SIL to the store. When they got back to the house, she went into their room and shut the door, his older brother went into his room and shut the door, his niece and nephews weren't home, and his younger brother picked up his stuff and went to play golf. Bob said he couldn't believe it. He came all the way to visit with them, and they don't stay where he can visit with them. He was very glad when I returned. I just don't understand people.

That's hard to understand-what helps me a lot is that people are ignorant-they just don't know any better. I have had to put a lot of things in that category.
Wow for your visit with Joanne. Next year we will all go to tarpon Springs-I also have wanted to see that place. For sure, we will be down here a lot longer.

Talked to my son Bobby-he said he would tell me personally when he gets engaged. He said his friend had a hard time with him dating his sister. It's all too funny. I suppose that would change their relationship.
Bowling Green is near the middle of the state below Lakeland. It's halfway to Orlando for us and Orlando is 3 and a half hours. Bobby's future in-lawa just bought a place in Bradenton-east of Tampa!!!
Anne-hope you are having a good time. We met so many people from Canada on that cruise.

My G/son is getting married this June.. From what I hear it is going to be kinda big..My daughter says I have to get a new dress. I have clothes in my closet I have hardly worn..I stay in pant,jeans or shorts most of the time..I think those north Fl. people would frown on them..

So gladyou all had a good time! I got my dress on the clearance rack! There are sl many more stores here. We need to shop for Al's dress. Evan is wearing black pants, white shirt and I need to find him a vest and tie that color pink . Easy to say-not.
I booked a room for 2 nights at a Bed and Breakfast and Suzanne will have the room next door to get dressed and also the bridesmaids, They can use our room too. Only 55 a night, awesome.
I brought the virus with me I think-first I had laryngitis-now it;s in my chest. same thing as Brad. I don't feel that bad.
We have a church tea on Sat and the Art show on Sunday-gotta get better,

HI ... weather is just plain ridiculous. It stormed last night, poured rain today and is in the 60s, is supposed to snow tonight, sunny tomorrow & Thurs. and warm ... more rain Friday and snow again Sat. but in the 50s on Sunday. I have coats in every weight and sweaters in every color. We have a saying in TN: If you don't like the weather, stick around, it will change! (Doesn't work well for arthrits and Fibro, though!)

I have to go start working on my taxes ... I should have already been through. I dread it, I dread it, I dread it. Hummmm ... according to the experts I should be saying ... Oh boy, this is going to be so much fun .. fun .. fun ... HECK .. what do those jerks know ... they probably don't even do their own taxes!!!

We left Tampa late this morning. We knew there were storms ahead of us, but we decided we'd get as far as we could and just stop for the night. Well, we made it to Lake City, FL. We'll get an early start in the morning. Not sure how far we'll try to go. No rush! Right now at home they have an ice storm going on. In the county where we live, no one is supposed to be out on the roads. Schools were sent home early today.

Meme, I don't think it would take that long to get to where you live. Might have to look into it!!

Taxes. Oh boy! We have that to look forward to when we get home. This is the latest we've ever done them. I agree about the experts not doing their own taxes!!

We ate at Texas Roadhouse tonight. Tasted pretty good.

Auntie went to the hemotologist-more blood work and if they can't find our why shes anemic-a bone marrow test. Her mother. my grandmother died of old-age leukemia so it's scary. Auntie has had pernicious anemia all her life and gets a B-12 shot once a month. Needless ro say, we are concerned but I know it's all in God's hands. Just wish they would treat her right away-not in 3 weeks.
Brad and I are having trouble because we ate so much on the cruise, we are always hungry. We did walk last night.
Art today-I need a picture to paint. I will do watercolor this time.

Hello Everybody- I guess in the next couple days everyone will be back home and into there routines..
Tomorrow morning very early I am having a heart catherization.. Maybe we can get to the bottom with what is giving me so much grief..I am glad it isn't monday.. That will be my 75th birthday..But then again after this many years I guess it wouldn't matter..So far nothing planned and that is fine.. I just want to stay quiet that day..
This is probably a wakeup call for me.. All my bloodwork was higher this time. They increased my statin.. Don't know what they will do about my sugar. Probably give me ****..

We arrived home about 5;30 yesterday afternoon after a stop at the grocery to stock up on things. Good thing we did because we are having a snowstorm! I want to go back to GA and FL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way it is going, Tim isn't sure he'll get home tomorrrow for spring break. Since he is an RA, he has to help close down the dorm. We told him to just stay overnight in Muncie instead of risking it.

I'll post later. Working on balancing the checkbooks, and I needed a break!

We went to the flea market and the dollar store-I got some earrings and a ring pillow-that wAS a dollar-all wrapped nicely. Then i got some Mickey pajama bottoms and a black camisole. Cute.
Tea party today but friend Joyce started a cough.I went to her house for white gloves and a hat. She had 6 pair of white gloves!!!

Hello Everybody- The Catheterzation went well. I have a small amount of plax in one artery ,not enough to worry about. The chest pains are not caused by the heart. They said it may be from the clips in my lung. I had one lobe removed over 30 years ago. I don't think they know what it is. I say it must be gas as I told them in the first place.I feel like I wasted everyones time. Including mine..I feel like crap right now from all the meds they poured in me..
I have Dr's appointments next week. I will tell them to find a solution as I am tired of not feeling good.I think going to all these dr's makes us worse instead of better..I hate it..
I think I am going to go to the mall and spend a lot of money!!!!

Mima, we have a Dollar General here in town. We call it the Versailles Mall. lol I go there quite a bit if I need something fast. I do like the stores that have things for $1.00. I used to get quite a bit of stuff for school there. I love Mickey!!!

Joanne, glad to hear that the cath. went well. I can understand completely about being tired of not feeling good. Bob said the same thing several times while we were gone. I am still coughing some, but I am way better than I was a few weeks ago. I wish I was there to go to the mall with you!!!

The county we live in has been on a Level 3 Emergency. That means stay home and off the roads or you'll be arrested. It has been nasty. We have 11 inches of snow, and the wind made it much worse. The level was changed to a 2 a couple hours ago, but we still aren't planning on getting out in the morning to go to church. It's a 20 mile drive on many back roads. It just isn't worth getting in an accident.

Tim made it home from school. We were worried he might get stopped because of the Level 3, but he said he only saw snow plows, no police/sheriff. It took him 2 1/2 hours to get here. Usually takes about an hour. He stopped in little towns along the way to just take a break from driving. There were times he couldn't see very far in front of him, so he just pulled off into a parking lot and waited for it to pass.

I came back from the south to this!!!

It's always a shock to get home. You have a bigger shock!!
Glad the catherization went well=I guess it's a relief to know it's not your heart. I felt that way after a stress test because of chest pains from asthma. I have been through tests and it boils down to diverticulosis and IBS.
I went to a Tea at church -it was lovely-great speaker-about letting go of things and puttibg them in God's hands and not taking them back.
We are thinking of getting a car down here and flying back and forth. 7 days of travel and 600 worth of gas , plus motels and food to do it!!!!
