I boil water, white vinegar, a little sugar (or splenda can be used) and pour it over sliced cukes and then chill. Is this what you mean? I make it a lot in summer and will have to look proportions up. Or are you thinking of something else?

everyone has a different take. I slice cukes very thin. put some rice vinegar in them, a pinch of sugar...and for a nice flavor i add thinly sliced red onions and fresh dill. Chill for a few hours.

Not really. A fun variation is to add sour cream or plain kefir. I skip the sugar/Splenda and use a garlic salt in place of salt for some zip and make sure to add fresh ground black pepper- yum!
