There I was, 10 years old, standing on my mother's scale with my face buried in my hands letting out a sob. The scale said 180, I now weighed as much as my pregnant cousin. Right then all the mean comments came back into my head "ugly" "Savanah the savage" "ogre" "fatty fatso". And now it was even worse. I was terrified when I read 175 but then humiliated when it said 180.
5 more years I let go by, miserably overweight.
One day I stepped on the scale again, 212 at 15, I once again had to wipe away the tears. But now the tears were not just tears but I also had fear. "Oh God I am going to die before I am 20 at this rate!"
I had to make a change.... so I did.
Here I am now, at 17, 7 years past that horrible memory of seeing the scale read 180, and now I am 175, now I cry not tears of horror but tears of joy!

Congrats on the weight loss, but even more, congrats on learning at your age that YOU possess control and power over your life, your body, and your future. That lesson will carry you far.

Congrats!! Your story is personally inspiring to me as I went through an eerily similar situation at age 10- and also that you lost it whilst very young tells me, and all the other young chicks, that we can do it, too. Congratulations on your loss and Thank You for being an inspiration to the younger dieters in this world. :smug:

Congratulations on your weight loss and look great. You should be proud how far you have come. I only wish that I had your insight at your age. I was busy burying my head in the sand hoping it would go away. Thanks for sharing your story and pictures.
