Okay ladies... here's the bet thread...

The idea is to take your trigger foods away, the ones that you shouldn't eat, but do and then they cause you to eat more.

List your food of choice, and then list your self-induced penalty for cheating.

My trigger is chocolate... and if I eat it  I have to workout at the gym in shorts AND take pictures

EW! No one needs to see that LOL

Hello ladies!

Thank you for making this thread.

My food of choice is bread and chocolate. Bread is always circulating around my house and chocolate ecause that's always at my job.

If I eat bread or chocolate I will do 50 push ups (I don't know how to do pushups or even last to do 50) and I will have my boyfriend take pictures. I almost had toast and said I'll start tomorrow but no I didn't eat bread today.

My food is flour. I know thats not really a food but I am supposed to be keeping flour and sugar out of my diet. I am doing ok with the sugar as I use stevi as a substitute but I have trouble with flour. There are 4 flour substitutes I can use at home but when out its hard.

My self induced punishment is to walk an extra mile the next three times I walk. And yes I do walk :)

Mine would have to be PEARS. So far, so good on SBD - but I can't stand to watch my friends eat beautiful, round, green, soft, fresh pears at lunchtime!! Ahhhhh... sometimes I thinK I will give in. But I just look forward to the time I am done with P1 of SBD and you betcha pears will be the first carb added in :)

My punishment will be an extra cardio class... because I hate those and refuse to do anything but Yoga and Zumba!

Ok---today is a hard day for me. Friday's is our Chinnese night. Every friday for the past few years has been our Chinnese night. We love Chinnese!!!!!!! My husband and I talked this morning and we decided we would resist and not have Chinnese. I hope we can stick with it and not fall into temptation. I can do this!!!

You can do it!

So far so good today. I cleaned up the break room so at least the candies are laying out easy to just GRAB as I'm walking by LOL... I also didn't eat any so HUZZAH!

As for my other bet, we're now on day three and the intense desire to eat fast food is subsiding. Yesterday it was all I could do to not cave... but my desire to win the bet was even more so I managed to overcome.

Hello ....

How could my mom go to Costco and buy tons of bread?*sigh* But, I am not eating it. No I will not. I went to my dads to eat today and usually we will eat our food and some bread. So, he placed the bread on the table but I got up, walked to the fridge and got out the tortillas. I was so proud. He looked at me like uh oh but I just kept on. haha

How is everyone doing???

Way to go!

I'm adding chinese food to the bet because lately I've just been craving general tsao's chicken like MAD lately and I haven't been able to stop myself from stopping and picking some up from Wok on my way home from work these days.

So yeah, Adding that to my bet.

I've done really well with the fast food though, at this point I'm able to squelch the urges to stop whenever I'm driving by my favorite places.

Hubby and I are going to have to up the bet, because neither one of us is going to cave on this bad boy!

LOL

I've done really well with flour but that is easier for me so I am adding sugar to my list too. Today I was able to resist eating wontons on my salad beacuse I knew I was part of this bet and I didn't want to let everyone down. This kind of support is great thanks everyone and keep going we're all doing great!!!!

Hello my fellow ladies!!

Anybody caving in yet? ... because if you are....

WALK AWAY FROM THE FOOOOOD!!!!!LOL

Still going strong. You know, when you give something up its interesting how creative you get. Well, we always used to eat bread in my household with all your meals. So, I have to get creative. Chocolate isn't an issue. I had my mom take the box of See's candy to work.

How is everyone doing?

Still going strong on both flour and sugar although yesterday I did have french fries but they weren't what I gave up. But you nothing is really worth it. It tastes good then but then I physically and sometimes emotionally feel awful later. I'm proud that I haven't even sneeked a bite of ice cream from the freezer!!

Anyone want to start an excercise bet?? I need something to get motivated to keep moving!!

PJ I love the new ticker!! I was really wanting pizza which of course has flour in it but then I saw that and I felt better and had more determination!!

For the excercise bet...I think we should all bet how many days and/or for how long we are going to excercise. then if we mess up we have to double the time or add an exra day or something. We probably will have to change what we are doing every few weeks so that we keep moving forward. What do you guys think?

Nicoyaangel
01-18-2008, 02:09 AM
I like that. I see a lot of tickers where people have a certain amount of minutes that they are going to do or hours ...

pedsowk82
01-20-2008, 07:38 PM
Should I start another thread then?

Nicoyaangel
01-21-2008, 03:53 PM
You can do that or since this one is called you BETcha we can keep all the bets here. Im doing the The Biggest Loser challenge and what we are doing is seeing how long it takes us to get to the moon. I think thats a cute idea. Or what we did also (which I really liked) was pick a location like Oh I dunno ummm San Francisco California and say it takes this many miles to get to Boisse Idaho (example) and every minute we execised would go towards a mile so if it took 567 miles (i dunno) you would need to work out 567 minutesand the team that got thier miles done first picked the next destination so what we can do is everyone that wants to participate can agree on a location and then whomeever gets there first picks the next destination and if someone comes in late then its ok because that means they would just need to work twice as hard to catch up which means extra working out. Oh and there is a catch. Lets say PJ gets there first and Ped lets say you still have 15 miles / minutes to get there what you would do is grab the new amount of minutes and add the additional 15 minutes that you did not finish. So if the next place takes 500 minutes / miles Ped yours would actually be 515 minutes / miles. So you have to work just as hard if not harder to catch up to PJ. I dunno just a suggestion and we can keep the ticker on our signature so we can cheat and see how we are doing. lol

But if anyone else has any suggestions I have nooo problem going by their game either. Just thought it was a cute game

pedsowk82
01-21-2008, 10:06 PM
How do you feel about either of these:

Bismarck, North Dakota to Grand Canyon, Arizona = 1390 miles (more to reach for)

or

Seattle, Washington to Reno, Nevada = 751 miles (much shorter goal)

Let me know if you like either or if you want to start somewhere else!!

I'm very excited!!!

WeightSmasher
01-22-2008, 07:54 PM
I say we start tomorrow and do the shortest distance so that we can get motivated and keep moving.

Nicoyaangel
01-23-2008, 02:16 AM
Yea, lets start with the shorter goal and see if everyone likes the game. The first person who gets to 751 minutes gets to pick the next destination. I say we should start tomorrow the 23rd.

I'll put a ticker on my sig. so I can keep better track :)

Nicoyaangel
01-23-2008, 02:17 AM

Ok ladies sounds great! We are traveling 751 miles (minutes) from seattle, WA to Reno, NV. So far it looks like PJ, Weightsmasher, Nico, and myself are in the race. I think tickers in all of our signature are a good way to keep track. Good luck to everyone!!! :exercise:

Still going strong with the food!!! I'm very proud of us all. I made sugar and flour free chocolate chip cookies two days ago. They were quite yummy even if they don't sound it on paper :) How about everyone else??

OK, LADIES I STARTED TODAY!!
I did 45 minutes of excercise and feel really good. I am a little down that I only lost 1lbs this week but my trainer said that is typical. A lot of people slow down on the second week. I figure 1lbs is better than gaining or nothing. She said a good average is 1-2lbs per week. I am going to work a little harder this week to keep loosing.

As far as the eating bet so far so good. As always the weekends are a little hard but so far so good. It helps that my husband is in on the bet with me.

Have a great day ladies and let's keep moving.

01-27-2008, 04:01 PM
Ok LAdies-I owe everyone an extra mile the next 3 times I walk, but it is too cold here to walk three times. It takes me about 15 minutes to do a mile so the next three days I excercise I will add 20 minutes. I had pizza last night. IT was totally worth it though. But I am back on track this evening and will start over. Keep up the good work everyone!!

Well, so far so good. I did not work out on Friday or Saturday but got back on track on Sunday. Feels pretty awful when I don't go to the gym. I think it is becoming part of my routine. They say it take 21 days for a habbit to form and I guess it is true. Well, hope everyone else is still fighting the fat!!!

I have a nasty cold but plan on getting back into it tomorrow. Definately Thursday. I feel so much better when I excercise but right now just holding my head up is taking all of my energy. Talk to you ladies soon!

I am back and ready to stay!

Here is an update of my horrible apartment search.

We applied to 2 different places and BOTH rejected us because of MY credit. So, I told my mom that me and my boyfriend (and our 2 darling kitties) will be staying with them until my credit gets back together. I am going to look into that CCCS place and get that started. It sucks that I wasted so much money for 2 places to deny us but you know what I take it as a sign that its time to get some things right.

So, I am back and I am here to play and get back on track. I am going to help find a 3 bedroom (if my roommates elderly mom stays with us or if goes to a home a 2 bedroom) but myself and my boyfriend need to get on the train to losing weight.

We just found out he is borderline to getting diabetes and at this rate he isnt going to get any better. So we are going to do something about it. So, I hope we can continue our journey to playing our timed game. I felt bad that I left and I was the one that started. I hope people are still willing because I know I AM!!!

Where is everyone!!!
