Weight Loss Surgery - Goodbye to my grandfather

goodbye, a hard row to hoe
this ground hard when first I try

to let go one called grandpa
makes me want to cry

My grandfather was a kind and generous man with open arms for the people around him and the Lord he loved. He graced this earth for 97 years, 1 month and 1 day. Not sick at all until just a few weeks ago.

I hold in my hands the means to extend my own life. I could live as long and healthy as my grandpa did. I just have to focus on doing those things I have to do to make this surgery work for me. May I at least live long enough to honor his giving spirt...by being here, I can pass it on to those around me.

Thank you for just letting me talk as I cry, I feel better just writing it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure he was a wonderful person and lived an incredible life during those 97 years. He would be proud to know you're planning on continuing his legacy by using his life as an example of how to live yours. Best of luck to you.

oh honey - he'll be missed by many people - based on what you wrote. it's hard to watch people age and die, but, as Leenie said, he lived a full life and touched many.
