stonyfield plain fat free yogurt
either salmon or bison

I have all of those everyday.

02-17-2008, 07:24 PM
Hard to narrow down because I tend to go in phases (eat something very frequently, then not so much, then again later on, lol).
The ones I'm having most frequently lately:

Special K with berries in soymilk
Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese Wedges (sometimes with about 5 or 6 Town House crackers--that's one of my substitutes now for my salt cravings instead of Pringles, lol)
Chicken Breasts
Oranges or bananas
Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice/Smart Ones...usually a panini or a chicken dish

Seriously, my cholesterol was pretty decent when I started (150) but it's gone to 112 (before the holidays) to 139 (yesterday) and I'm thinking the soymilk and switchover to the cheese wedges (instead of the full size American, Swiss, provolone, etc.) had something to with it.

Great thread- I'm getting plenty of healthy ideas here! I need some sort of routine or regularity with my choices, it'd be much easier.

Except for my morning (afternoon and evening) espresso habit, I have no regular foods. Just a variety of veggies and poultry or fish remains a constant dinner choice.

However, my regular fav flavs, that I wouldn't want to live without, to spice up my irregular food choices are:

~Roasted Garlic
~Hoison Sauce, used sparingly. OMG, I could eat that bad stuff with a spoon.
~Those little cans of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

Yep, yep- I have some stinky breath! :)

Thanks and thanks again for the wonderfully healthy ideas!

I love food! I love cooking food and presenting food in a beautiful way on the plate, it’s like ART to me..so I am always trying new recipes...new foods...
However...these are some of my favorites...like old friends...they never let me down!!!
5 favorite things to drink
1. Coffee with Splenda and 1/4 Cup soy milk or FF milk
2. Green Tea...especially Bigelow Peach Green Tea...with Splenda..sometimes with a lemon slice or a lime slice...or an orange slice floating around!
EVERYDAY....sometimes 5 cups!
3. Ice Water....I love love love good cold ice water!
4. Lipton Green Tea with Citrus ICE COLD!
5. my splurge drink....1/2 cup good wine...like chianti...and 1 cup ginger ale mixed...my own wine cooler!

My 5 favorite foods that help me on my nutritional take in...that always satisfies!
1. cheese....especially the laughing cow swiss wedges or bites...but i also love gruyere, cream cheese, cheese sticks, etc
2. Reese Holland Rusks...I love these...i can cut them up into little pieces, spray with garlic olive oil spray and sprinkle with garlic salt and make croutons for my Caesar salad...I make Salmon Salad Crisps...or Chicken, or Tuna...I make eggs ruskadict!...spread with cream cheese and teriyaki beef jerky...or just satisfy that crunchy desire.
3. Jacobsen's Snack Toast with Cream cheese and Fruit Salsa...I like the raspberry snack toasts the best, but the cinnamon raisin ones are good too. I mix 1/3 less fat cream cheese with a little splenda...and spread on a toast and top with my own mixture of fruits cut tiny like fruit salsa...all fresh...peaches, nectarines, strawberries, and kiwi. Sometimes I will add a tsp peanut butter or a tsp nutella to the cream cheese!
4. filet mignon and roasted veggies
5. veggie soup....all veggie...only veggies...from scratch..so easy and delicious. i start with one container of chicken broth and then i just add any of the best veggies i can find...like carrots, onions, celery, tomatoes, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, squash, bell peppers...etc. sometimes as a treat, i will add in a spoonful or two of green peas or corn, but i limit these.
